Welcome my brothers on this, the finest of days, we shall continue our making of the Dionysus Revelers. A rogue chapter of Space Marines. Now those from the last thread are probably wondering "weren't we suppose to do this Friday?" well yes. But unfortunately one of my relatives was in a bad car crash so I'm gonna be gone over the weekend. I hope y'all understand but with that outta the way here's a refresher for those new or who forgot.https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Dionysus_RevelersTL;DR: Greek-rogue-hedonist marines who worship their dead chapter master, have a rivalry with their turk cousins, and a necron lord is pretending to be their founder.Things we should hope to accomplish:-Get some Writefaggory-Get some Drawfaggory-Tackle more of the inner workings of the chapter-Flush out their Turk cousins the Far Hunters if we got time
One of the first things, what about our Librarians. They must play a vital role since they help with the creation of our shit load of warp-tainted weapons.I think we should call our Librarians Oracles. After well the Oracles of Greek.
>>63484507fuck yeah man.Thank Dionysus and the Emperor that the thotness of Slaanesh has no power over the hard working Reveler.
>>63484602Begone with you Chaos scum, or contribute.
>>63484651The buboes SPEAK to me and they bring WISDOM, can't you understand?
>>63484698(but nah do you actually want to contribute something?)
>>63484786I can FEEL Nurgle's LOVE writhing through my veins and twisting through my brain! The worms are OUR children, and if you'll lay down and ROT, they can be yours!Off-topic shit-posting, I'll contribute sometime in the next two or three days if the thread is still up
>>63483880A few days early but why not? I was writing stuff up for the Friday/Saturday session.>>63484568Praise the wisdom of Dionysus! How about the Cup/Chalice Bearers fro the Honor Guard/1st Company name?
And I didn't see the last post being so long ago. Damn. Well I'll post a few things I was writing down for the session.Despite being Renegades the Revelers have been known to aid Imperial forces/citizens from assault (Xenos, Pirates and Chaos most of all) all in exchange for material and new crew members. These new crew are inducted into the Fleet cult and lifestyles. But on the flip side they have been known to raid Imperial and rogue forces for material, crew as well.
The Savior's Complex they have is sue to the Shattering that happened to Bacchus III and their inability to save it or the populace.Due to this they as mentioned earlier bequeath aid to beleaguered Imperial forces when they can/it is beneficial to them. They despise Exterminatus to their cores. Though they understand its use, especially when a planet is lost wholly to chaos or the Tyranids, but the misguided or corrupted use of it on planets that can entirely saved is an affront to their morals nad values. They have been recrded attacking an Inquisitor infamous for their use of Exterminatus, especially among the Inquisition itself. They hold people like Kryptman in high contempt and he has a kill order on him if sighted within their vicinity.
>>63487506Seems in theme with them so far. Pirates, but very good nature ones.>>63487443I've been thinking Lesser Scythes, because the "CM" stand in holds the title Grand Scythe. As a part of the whole Dionysus being replaced by a Necron and being a farming tool.
>>63487601Lesser Scythes doesn't really feel right to me. Not sure what else.I had the idea where the Revelers use less advanced equipment in general, preferring more basic/simple gear. So Bolters, Stubbers, Rockets and Flamers being those most commonly found. Their Serfs/Aux however make use of Lasers, Plasma and the like since they're weaker. The Marines make use of the simpler stuff to do a long ritual of gradually improving oneself with the bare minimum. The more veteran/Elder Marines can make use of the advanced stuff since they earned it through their long lives and trials
>>63487699Well we've gotta keep some stuff in mind, while yes they've lost their techmarines some stuff helps balance it out.Such as Necron Lord Dionysus slowly feeding us his Necron Technology. Though this likely won't take effect for another millennium and are able to train some more Techmarines.
>>63487745Just an ideaNow for the Far Hunter ideas. We know why they hate the Revelers. We know other institutions don't like them for various reasons. What else can we do for them? They have sweet carnivore horses.
>>63487793Did we decide on colors for them? It was cool/dark colors to contrast the Lighter Revelers. What would the lives of their serfs be? Average to horrible depending on which Marine they deal with?
>>63487793Well could finish what we don't really know by looking up by what we've already filled in by accident. Why Was The Chapter Founded: Standing ForceWhen Was The Chapter Founded: 35th MillenniumWho was the Chapter's Progenitor: UltramarinesGene-seed purity: ???Chapter Demeanor: Swift As The WindIf they have one, what mutation do they have: ???If one exists, what is the Chapter's Flaw: ???Figure of Legend: Chapter Master/Founder ZephyrDeeds of Legend: ???Chapter homeworld: Feral WorldHomeworld terrain: Ice/Tundra/SteppesRule of homeworld: ???Chapter organisation: ???Combat doctrine: Lightning StrikeSpecialty restrictions: ???Special equipment: Special Mount/Bestial Companion(Nightmares)What form do the Chapters' beliefs take: ???At what strength is the Chapter: Under StrengthWho are your Chapter friendly with: ???Who are the Chapter's enemies: Dionysus Revelers.>>63487859>Yes
>>63487944If you want to roll Purity give me 1d10.
The equipment of the Far Hunters tends to be rather plain and utilitarian. They adorned little of their Gear with images of symbols from the Steppr world they once recruited from due to their distate and hate for it. This continues millennia onwards to the present day. The FH adorn them selves ver little except for more basic ways (Kill tallies, Trophies etc)The hope to change this once they found and make their own Bacchus III once the Revelers are put down once more. They have a great many stores of info pertaining Bacchus III for such an occasion for them t recreate
BTW should I also make a page for the Far Hunters?
Rolled 5 (1d10)>>63488019Yeah. The FH are both standard equipped and near destitute in comparison to other Chapters. This is due to their Penance Crusade and constant movement along with infrequent resupply. They have taken to using more unorthodox strategies and tactics along with abnormal gear to make up for this.>>63487966FUCKING CAPTCHA

So do you losers even play the game? Or do you just pop in from time to time to clog up /tg/ with even "what if x was space Marines". Like fluff is important in a tabletop but to spend this much time and effort on your special snowflake Marines comes off as a bit odd. Like do you hand your opponent a novel before they're allowed to play against you or do you just squawk about how cool your guys are while your opponent is trying to play the game? When is this information helpful/socially acceptable to share?
Rolled 7 (1d10)>>63488157Rolling Restriction as well 'cause why not? Chapter Burial rites involve funaeral pyres. The belief is the fires and smoke will bring the Soul to meet with the Emperor, the bigger the fire the more long lived and decorated the Marine in question

>>63488520They must have done some good by the Titans to earn their friendship. Probably pulled some ballsy maneuvers that secured the war they were a part of. Few of the Imperial forces cared much for the Hunters but these Titans did. They greatly appreciated their work and the resolve despite their poorr conditions Should we roll them up?

So I was thinking of flushing out the Ambrosia Wine. There little gets even a Space Marine drunk drink. Since they've been going to all these planets picking up new crops and spices.Ambrosia Wine - If there ever was a drink of gods this would be it. Brewed exclusively in the Bracchus fleet. It is a labor of lifetimes grown from exotic crops from dozens of worlds. Harvesting requires collecting rare and dangerous crops, some poisonous, others carnivorous. Brewing is a long and laborious that comes with its own some set of dangers. But the end product is truly worth it all. After this drawn out process is completed what they're rewarded with is wine straight out of legend. If done properly the brew will have a thick consistency, and a deep gold coloring. Its said to possess a deep heady flavor that adapts to the drinkers taste buds, reminding them of a favored treat. However these accounts come only from Space Marines. You see due to the massive amounts of toxins that come from the plants its made from make it deadly to all but the Astartes, and any disgusting xenos with a great ability withstand toxins. Though the few serfs who have begged their masters and risked their lives have said that such a Emperor blessed thing was worth it, before shortly dying moments later.>>63488569>
>>63488603Very good writeup. I wonder if they trade small batches of it to other Renegades for supplies? Maybe it's so good some even tried to take it from the Revelers in a series of "Ambrosia Wars"
>>63488603Also, do we have any ideas about their symbol? I know in the last thread we had talked about a chalice, but were concerned that was similar to the blood angels.
>>63488636Most definitely possible they've fought others over rare spices and herbs in the past so I don't see why not. It might also be a way for them to get help from local Astartes. "Hey I give you some of this fucking amazing "wine" and you keep the Far Hunters off our back, and throw in some Hydroponic lights." Which could also explain why they're so distrust worthy of even those they haven't pissed off. It's getting late where I'm at so if I randomly go off there's the reason.
>>63488692I brought that up. And also the same concern, it'd also cross into the Soul Drinkers as well>>63488732It's alright.
>>63488692I can think of some.1.Viper head with the horns of a bull(animals of the Greek Dionysus), Gold.2.A bundle of golden grapes, not great but fits.3.The golden pine cone at the tip of Dionysus's Thyrus.4.The most simple would be a golden spiral, as he was also a god of madness, but doesn't really fit them.
>>634887821.Viper head with the horns of a bull(animals of the Greek Dionysus), Gold.2.A bundle of golden grapes, not great but fits.3.The golden pine cone at the tip of Dionysus's Thyrus. One of these three, leaning towards Snake with Bull Horns. For the basic Model symbol, the actual heraldry would have Grapes and vines to further elaborate it
>>63488810*With a little work the Snake-Bull could be made to look like a ChaliceSorry it cut this off
>>63488520Since these guys are a divergent chapter and are lightning strike doctrine, how about where some Marines took the idea to improve speed by reducing the armor thickness to shave off a little mass? Or would that be too far?I put forth they used spears while riding horseback last thread to balance out their poor equipment
Some Far Hunter musicSome later music after they travel a lot and pick up ideas from across the Segmentum in search of the Revelershttps://youtu.be/OWWJlWOjsDshttps://youtu.be/wN9qaOw4164https://youtu.be/7Ak4suRrqj0https://youtu.be/qGrbe4ul_I0
>>63488933A chapter that makes use of polearms over hammer, and swords might be neat. Removing armor might be going to far they've still got to stay protected.
>>63483880So, I've been toying with an idea. Don't know if it fits in with what's been developed so far, but the idea would be that when one of the reveller battlebrothers dies in battle and the body can be recovered they have a special rite/festival in the garden. The Festival is basically a re-enactment of the Shattering. They set up for a massive feast with a bonfire in the centre. The tradition is that attendees place something of value on the bonfire, but their situation being what it is, they don't go nuts. The evening opens with a band playing the string, woodwind, drum, everyone having hors d'ouvres, when they shut off the lights and six brothers dressed for the occasion in wolf heads and carrying trumpets and cymbals march in, playing a particularly loud and discordant version of what is already fairly aggressive Ottoman military marching music. They're lead by a figure carrying a torch, standing in for Zephyros. The figure for the evening of Dionysus blocks them, mock battle, the torch is thrown onto the bonfire, "Dionysus" is killed, the "hunters" march out with the "corpse". They are immediately followed by one standing in for Talos Deimos. At this point the body of the brother to be roasted is substituted for the Dionysus, and carried by "Talos Deimos". The body is roasted (off to the side). The feast resumes, and there is food, music, and dancing by the fire for as long as the lights stay down. While not everyone in the fleet can attend, the Revellers always invite a representative sample to the festivities. Since they're rolling around space picking people up when they intervene, most of their flock is going to have things to mourn. By joining their mourning in a ceremony where they symbolically participate not just in the Shattering, but in it's aftermath, where the Revellers started moving and didn't stop (in this case that's what the dancing is standing in for), they're given an opportunity to mourn, and to integrate into the chapter.
>>63489003It was an idea of speed/getting to the enemy over protection, but it would be shot down after a few tmes it was to damagingThe pole arms is a nice touch them. You can make a spear much cheaper/faster to say a Bolt and it can still be used after the head is damaged. And they're meant for a Marine so they're tough and can split skulls with a good swing.>>63489047That's a great piece. Nice way to incorporate Greek Theatre
>>63489047>>63489083While most cannot take part in the actual theatre why not recording/broadcasting it to the other ships later? They have the tech for it, not as goes being there in person but better than nothing
>>63489047>That entire thing, it's fucking beautiful man.Sounds like something that would be a real tradition. Must be a hell of a funeral if too many die. Also what could be a War cry or motto for the Far Hunters.Previous suggestions were. For warcry >Like the Hounds we chase. Like the Winds we Howl! For motto.>Hate is an Acid which is more damaging to the container than the target.
>>63489047>>63489121>but their situation being what it is, they don't go nutsYeah I think we're forgeting a little the Far Hunters are more the ones scrapping by. Combined with trade and fending off/looting pirates. A necron lord feeding us tech, rogue priest that might actually make new things. Massive hydroponics things are probably well off for the Revelers.
>>63489141Both me. The second is a modern motto after lots of self reflection and understanding. Maybe in the modern age they feel they should honestly just stop chasing th Revelers, they haven't done any real damage and right here>>63489170 being correct. They should just go and colonize a good garden world if they can and start building
>>63489047The cannibalism is for space marines only, at a ceremony later. The idea I've been playing with is a story about a kid from a hive city that suffered a riot, that turned out to be the work of heretical preachers, that turned out to be cover for horrible sacrifices, that, had the Revellers not intervened would have resulted in a full blown demon incursion. As it was the kid and his younger sisters were the only ones of their family to survive. Oh and Dad was part of the cult. Kid saw some shit before he was able to get free, get to his sisters and run. He happened to run into Revellers making an exit and got picked up. The story would be about the kid trying to cope with going from a nightmare Chaos ritual after his world went completely mad, to being part of a ceremony in what to a kid from a hive city, is fucking paradise, with food and drink and EVERYTHING beyond his wildest dreams. And how this is kind of a recruitment test. It's not a trial exactly, and they only rarely recruit with it alone, but one thing the Revellers want to know is how people they have an eye on are going to react so suddenly being introduced to unimaginable luxuries such as, well, real food, wine, fresh air, and having a night where you can just dance and hang out. The kid passes, based on his behaviour in the ceremony as in the process, he winds up starting to coming to some kind of terms with what happened. He's invited to the cannibalism part of the ceremony, and begins his life as a Reveller with a (massively diluted) cup of their wind and a portion of their flesh.
>>63489204Really hits home how messed up the Revelers are despite their more cheery sideGod forbid if you're an Ultra though, they'll start sharpening their knives if they get a hold of you. In comparison they're cordal with other Loyalists. A common joke among the Far Hunters is to sully a Codex Astartes to bring UMs like a moth to flame to drag out the Revelers
Someone last thread put forth some songs for the Revelershttps://youtu.be/FZE2zvi4LuYhttps://youtu.be/UE_i5o2kYI0I put some more classical optionshttps://youtu.be/UoQUy9po5bk
>>63489192True, but the Far Hunters probably aren't thinking its an option, or being very rational about it. There's a broken world, hundreds of brothers lost, and millennium of devotion to trying to hunt them down. The Far Hunters are probably super tired at this point and just want to make a home, but feel like bringing a swift end to the Revelers is the best way to do it. The Titans allied with the Far Hunters are likely a big deterrent to building a new home to the Revelers.>>63489204Fucked up but fits with the Grimdarkness. A sorta enjoy life, but don't forget the horrible realities of the universe type thing.
>>63489141For the Far Hunters:>Damned if not Loyal!Which is both how they see the galaxy; and how they see themselves.
>>63489298Should we roll the Titans or just fluff em out?
>>63489322Fluff them out. Gives some more room to work with, and not so much a pain.
It is unknown when the "Ambrosia" drink of the Revelers came to be, for they are not forthcoming with such information. But the earliest external information of it came from Pirates and Renegade Marines circa M37. The descriptions is similar to loyalist accounts of its qualities. Not long after are the first of the recored and known "Ambrosia Wars" which various groups sought to sieze control of the beverage. Reasons range from just how good it was, to rumors of it able to turn a man into an Astartes or Immortal to even enough of t could heal the Emperor.
>>63489344Right here>The Titans allied with the Far Hunters are likely a big deterrent to building a new home to the Revelers.Perplexes me. Does it mean the Ttians prevent the Revelers fro settling down or are they sort of 'Directing' the Hunters? They must be fairly powerful along with their fleet/transports to discourage such actions
Do they fuck?
>>63489429Builds new colony Far Hunters could call in heavy Titan support and crush them with some fight.>>63489441The Revelers likely have a healthy sexual appetite. Sex is probably very casual, happening at parties, feast, or other events where people get rowdy, nothing off the table.
>>63489441No. Despite the tension between the Revelers and Hunters this isn't an anime for you to ship them in.
>>63489497>>63489517If they don't butt fuck each other, ditch the Dionysus name.
>>63489517I figured he meant the Revelers themselves. But if you >>63489441 mean Far Hunters and Revelers then fuck no.
>>63489298Yeah. I don't know if I have the chops to write it, but the idea would be that the kid (Issac Cronos, because fuck it, I'm outlining 40K fanfic, this is no time for subtlety), would have been intended as a sacrifice during the general unpleasantness. Mom and Dad would have previously had a disagreement over this. Mom did not quite get how committed Dad was to this idea. Mom died before the rioting started. At some point as he's being dragged towards the sacrifice Issac tries to grab Dad's knife, and in lunging at it manages to shank dad in the lung. This greatly amuses the priest running the ceremony, who declares with a cackling that Issac is free to go; his father shall provide the sacrifice. Issac staring at a Chaos ritual as his father gurgles outraged betrayal, runs like hell, finds his sisters and just keeps going, winding up in the situation outlined above.
Welp I'm nodding off don't go insane.
>>63489497"Would you care to partake in one of the ladies, Marine?""...No thanks. I'm flattered but this seems rather out there for Marines, Renegade of no.""Says you. Having sex once in a while clears the mind and improves focus. I remember a young Noble I helped take back his throne. He was so serious, always trying his hardest to win back what was wrongfully taken from him. He could never see the forst for the trees if you will. After some persuading of both himself and his Lady fellows he got laid and became even more productive. Funny how that works out. I won't tell you who he was, we had a deal back then built on blood, sweat and tears. Even after all this time I won't betray such a good man">>63489583Good night
>>63489578Issac Cronos, something tells me with a name like that he's gonna end up a captain.
>>63489602He might have a big appetite later on. A rare mutation or something.
The life of a Far Hunter Serf heavily depends on where one is stationed. Those put in charge of the Nightmare stables are seen with pity mostly. Such a duty is normally reserved for those that commit crime on the fleet. It has a relatively high turnover rate for such a reason. In fact, the overall turnover rate for FH Serfs is higher, if only slightly, than average. This is due to a mix of apathy, distrust and mean spiritedness from the Marines towards the Serfs. As such the Hunters are constantly taking on new Serfs through captives, recruitment of unknowing citizens and many more methods
>>63489298>A sorta enjoy life, but don't forget the horrible realities of the universe type thing.Which is why I like these mad bastards so much. Yeah, our planet's gone, yeah, the Imperium kinda hates us, yeah we're being hunted by our brothers who are like Ottoman space wolves, but we are going to dance and sing and drink and fuck and occasionally eat roasted space marines and keep the memory of our founder and the traditions of our homeworld!>>63489631Or maybe give him a Progenoid gland that's unusually productive, so that the Chapter's Apothecaries can later bring forth multiple space marines from his chest. Combine both, consuming the flesh of a space marine causes the progenoid to go into overdrive; so he eats his "children" and they are later "born" from him. An Apothecary named Zeus doesn't really fit though.
>>63489886Yeah!Almost forgot we had Apothecaries. How about >The ancient Greeks had Asclepius, the god of medicine. In Homer's Iliad, Asclepius was a man, a physician to soldiers wounded on the battlefield at Troy. But by Hippocrates' day, he had become elevated to the status of a god.
>>63488557I say the reason why the Titan legion appreciates the Hunters is probably due to them either being critical for fending off attempted hit and run attacks or their speed allowing them to recover several titans and leave before a chaos force could over whelm a planet
>>63489886Wait. So Cronos' progenoids become virtual factories for more? That's cool as all hell. And the process to make such alterations are hard to do, making Cronos the current only one of his kind>>63489944That seems to be the best. Thay then stood by their side after the Warmaster/guy in charge was going to lay into them for some reason
Have to get to sleep. Leaving last bit hereBucephalusNamed for the Emperor's original flagship and the same named horse from Terran myth. A recombinant 'clone' of Zephyros' original Nightmare from when he first 'Tamed' it. Since then the line of Bucephalus has served as the mounts of the Far Hunters Pashas since they first formed. Noted for the line's Black body and Red eyes and Mane. Even bigger than normal Nightmares which can comfortably carry a Marine in full gear. Has a hunger for flesh and blood so much that members of the Ordo Malleus has investigated the Far Hunters for harboring a Khornate Daemon.
>>63489956The Progenoid overproduction is triggered by eating large amounts of roasted space marine though (in Greek mythology Cronos ate his kids and was later forced to throw them up, also castrated his dad). It may have something to do with him coming to within a lucky stab to the lung of participation in a Chaos ritual as a kid (I'd maybe have the stab have hit somewhere else, but there are limits to how on the nose I'm willing to be).He gets selected not just because of the ritual, but because when he first ran into the Revelers during the events in Santorini, it was one of their Minotaur flock he first met. So as far as this kid's concerned, he's just run into a demon or a mutant. His reaction is to brandish his knife, and try to put his body between the "demon" and his sisters. For the Revellers, thinking of themselves as shepherds as they do, having the instinct to guide and protect is kind of important. Of course, a kid wielding a bloody knife in a hive that (at least in my mind) they had to blow up to keep chaos from consuming the planet, one way or the other is somewhat suspect. So that's why he's watched carefully, particularly during the feast ritual. And why when they see he's able to participate in it and not be consumed either by the trauma he experienced, or be consumed by well, the desire to consume all that's set before him, he's considered to have proven himself.
>>63489926>>63489956Love it. (Still up for a moment)>>63489944Titan force was stranded and they wanted to capture them for chaos. Also oracles I mentioned earlier.Oracle - For the Revelers the 13 Oracles of the 13 companies preform the roll a Librarian would for a normal company. The Oracles specialize in two things not found in the wider Imperium. Divination, and binding the ambient energies of the warp. Divination as proved an invaluable asset in staying ahead of their ancient hunters. Meanwhile the art of binding ambient warp energies to weapons is how they produce the warp tainted weapons the Revelers and their auxiliaries commonly use.All those in possession of these weapons are to seek out an Oracle to help them if they feel anything strange from the weapon, or fear the warp may somehow be corrupting them.
>>63490103Nice idea on the Oracle. (Phoneposting right now)>>63490099Good explanation on the methods and the recruitment of Cronos.
>>63490127The most important resurce for them especially like everyone else is Navigators. Without doubt they'll have to rescue them to make do. Or they get a bunch of Psykers together to navigate to some extantI really hate captcha
How long till the revellers end up getting a ctan shard through necron fuckery
>>63490171There is a possibility. 'Dionysus' may plan on it, but it's likely a pipe dream. Such a thing is very dangerous.
>>63490171But if it did happen it'd look like a Marble and Gold statue like OP or this
>>63490103Battle Report: Mespotalria CrusadeAfter confirmed report of a large scale uprising occurring on Forge World Mesportarlia, Titan Legion obedience along with skitari forces were sent for compliance. Initial success proved to be fleeting as the uprising was revealed to be chaotic in nature with Loyalist elements being ambushed by several chaos space marine warbands originating from the iron hands. Situation continued to deteriorate as enemy forces released daemonic cursings that drove skitari forces mad leaving the Titan legion vulnerable to hit and run attacks from more agile vehicles. All attempts to evacuate Obedience have proved unsuccessful and all known reinforcements were weeks away. With the ever growing threat of the Legions Titan's falling into the hands of Chaos, Obedience started to make its final preparations and bring down as many chaotic servants with them before overloading their reactors. During the waning hours of the final battle, a space marine chapter known as the Far Hunters entered into real space and engaged enemy ships in a series of hit and run attacks while deploying marines onto the ground. The swiftness of the Hunters ships combined with their long range strikes provide ample distractions and bought the Mechanicus fleet enough time to evacuate the Titan Legion and flee the system. The Far Hunters and Titan Legion Obedience would later on regroup with the crusading fleet and would retake the planet several months after their initial retreat. Since that day, Titan Legion Obedience has sworn to assist the Far Hunters in their hunt of their hated foe and the two continue to do battle together covering for each others weaknesses.

>>63490319Now I'm going to bedVery good job. Can't type much because my keyboard is loud, need a new quieter one.>>63490336The one where Dionysus was being a shepherd in his off time? Tha was really good."There are some days where I would walk back to my village when it wasn't too busy. I would go without armor and in simple field clothes, so I could feel the wind and sun upon my skin. The ground and water on my feet. I would take a single Honor Guard and a few PDF as formality. When I arrived I smiled for it was still there even centuries later. I would then ask the shepherd if I could take over, and he'd agree. During that time I allowed my mind to wander back to my youth so long ago."-Chapter Master Dionysus (Of Kris) Demeter recounting his days off
>>63490368That one should definitely be included the one by the guy who came up with each marine being a shepherd and having the auxiliaries be their flocks was pretty cool i thought it was a really nifty idea
>>63490368Decided to fix it up a bit here and there"There are some days where I would walk back to my village when it wasn't too busy. I would go without armor and in simple field clothes, so I could feel the wind and sun upon my skin. The ground and water on my feet. I would take a single Honor Guard as formality. When I arrived I smiled for it was still there even centuries later, just as I remembered it. The Olive trees in neat rows, the river flowing from the mountain range. The Oxtail lakes, which had moved and depleted had the ducks bobbing. I would then ask the shepherd if I could take over, and he'd agree, for he and his fore fathers had done the same for so long, he was a descendant of my Uncle from long ago. With the sheep at my beck and command, I allowed my mind to wander back to my youth so long ago."-Chapter Master Dionysus (Of Kris) Demeter recounting his days off
>>63488278>So do you losers even play the game? Or do you just pop in from time to time to clog up /tg/ with even "what if x was space Marines". Like fluff is important in a tabletop but to spend this much time and effort on your special snowflake Marines comes off as a bit odd. Like do you hand your opponent a novel before they're allowed to play against you or do you just squawk about how cool your guys are while your opponent is trying to play the game? When is this information helpful/socially acceptable to share? It's on a North Sentinelese dove breeding forum because it's not socially acceptable to share anywhere else but it's still fun to make, thin scrote
The Titan Legion in contrast ot the Hunters is a rather heavy and long ranged focued force. They prefer to roll and shoot their opponents, they bombard while encroaching upon them for both tactical and morale breaking. They use a Titan version of the Phalanx formation where they are constantly moving towards the enemy to force them to engage all while blasting with city eradicating guns.
DreadnoughtsThe Revelers actually make use of Dradnoughts which is surprising given their situation. Despite not having a proper resupply for them in millennia, they have a handful of Dreadnougts so it is still in reduced compared to proper chapters. Most of the Dreads are almost as old as the Chapter itself with Brother Elder Hermes being the oldest and can clearly remember the Shattering of Bacchus III. The Dreads are mostly used in a manner of morale boosting and giving aid to the Chapter command with their wisdom. But they still make use of them on the battlefield when required, due to the reverence they have a Flock comparable if not larger than the Veteran Marines. The Far Hunters have effectively no Dreadnoughts in their ranks. Obviously this is due to the infrequent resupplies and the Lightning Strike nature of their Doctrines. Such lumbering walkers is counter to how they operate along with how expensive they are. As such, the Huntrs are sorely lacking in Walker support and the Morale/Wisdom a Chapter finds in their Dreads is obviously missing from the Hunters
The Far Hunters do make use of Attack Bikes and other various vehicles from their motor pool when the situation requires it. The most common cause is the lack of breathable atmosphere for the Nightmares to breathe. Obviously the Nightmares do not like when the Bikes get more attention than them.Because of the dangers and skill required to even begin to mount and tame a Nightmare, the Bikes are most commonly used by the Scouts and still young Power Armor wearing Marines. Until they can tame and ride a Nightmare that chooses them they are not fully considered a Marine proper in the Far HuntersVarious Rhino pattern vehicles are used in their motor pool, from the basic to even a Command Rhino of rare make can be found. Predator Destructors are the most common alongside the standard Rhino for its blend of firepower, protection and most of all speed.
>>63487944I think I found a less eye bleeding color scheme for the Hunters. Still cold and dark. The red eyes would help them too
>>63493637The most common Titan within the Legion is the Reaver class. Despite the class being phased out across the Imperium in favor of the more impressive and cost effective Warlord, the Legion's Reavers march ever onward, unrelenting in their fury directed against the enemies of mankind. The Reavers as such form the bulk and body of the Phalanx forming a symbiotic relationship with the Warlords, few they are. The Reavers shall protect the legs of the Warlords while their lower height gives better depression to strike closer and lower targets. In the reverse the Warlords provide necessary BVR firepower and overwatch with their anti air emplacements, as well as even providing anti orbital on occasion .Warhounds are a curious minority among the Legion. They are there to provide flank protection and also act alongside faster Impeiral elements as heavy cavalry support. They have built a strong friendship with the Far Hunters Chapter over the centuries and are the "Ambassadors" when meeting between the two occur
>>63494636Anyone else here? I have off today so I'll be posting throughout. The Legion prefers simple and direct methods of dealing with their tergets. Little subtlety can be found in their tactics at all levels. Roll up while blasting their opponents, they leave the flanking and cut throat methods to their allies so they can focus on blasting their opponents with no distractions. This approach has led them to be regarded as slothful, indecisive, unimaginative and more less than savory adjectives. In general as lng as one does not insult them to their face the legion ignores such shaded talk in favor of performing their duties as good as possible.Such simple methods and inflexibility has led to more then one defeat, though they tend to be minor setbacks. They in their own words are best used in the role they were meant for and should be properly supported, just like how they support their allies on the field of battle
>>63489926Head Apothecary Asclepius has like his predecessors worked tirelessly to keep the Revelers Geneseed pure of taint as much as possible. Being far from proper Biologis or facilities as well as the use of Warp Tainted weapons has always meant the Chapter walks on a tightrope. Miraculously they have managed to maintain their purity throughout their banishment. Many attribute this to the consumption of Marine flesh, but still many point to the Apothecaries and rescued Biologis as just as much a contribution. The Apothecaries of the Revelers in addition to healing their Marine Brothers, also work heavily in maintain the hydroponics and farming of produce that keeps the Fleet fed and content. The overseeing of the production of "Ambrosia" is one of their highest positions.
>>63495036ChaplainsObviously the Cult of Dionysus is strongest here in the Reclusiarchy, especially after the 'Rebirth' of 'Dionysus' and Roboute. Still have the black and skulls theme like normal Chaplains, but use the animal, harvest imagery of the Revelers. Especially symbols of rebirth (Snakes, Butterflies, Bees etc.)
Battle of Laconia IV (War of Laconia)A very rare time where both Revelers and Far Hunters worked together. This came due to both receiving distress calls from the nearby Laconia system a few jumps away about 'Foul Traitor Marines'. After a brief amount of continuing fighting the two Chapter elements agreed to a cease fire to each head to Laconia to lend aid to the people there. Both then went in opposite directions so as to reduce their continued contact. Both would arrive in the Laconia system after a few days time, from opposite ends of the system. What they found were Traitor Marine Warbands, or at least elements of larger ones that joined up for a raid on the laconia system and her neighbors. The arrival of the two Elements was an Emperor sent miracle to the defenders. Despite the efforts of the Traitors, they were apparently ill equipped for sieges and lacked proper warship support, the Laconia system itself was little better off though they had the numbers, ships and defenses to hold off the Traitors and make them bleed. Despite that they were nonetheless in trouble as they were dealing with chaos infiltration that was set up decades ago to weaken the system ahead of time. After a brief communication to each other, the Revelers and Hunters hashed out a plan where they would divide and conquer the Traitors from orbit to relieve the beleaguered defenders.
>>63495864Cont.The battles that took part on Laconia after the arrival of the Revelers and Hunters can be characterized by the odd manner in the lengths they went to stay away from eachother. From detailing the situation to local Imperial forces to simply staying away fro mthe other's theatre, they did everything they could to prevent contact with the other. This was in the belief they would possibly start quarreling when more important matters were at hand. After several weeks of fighting, in which only toward the end did outside Imperial Navy and Guard managed to arrive, was the fighting over. Once addition al Naval forces were in the area the acting Force commander of the Far Hunters contingent requested aid to apprehend the Revelers. Their was confusion from the navy on why the Hunters would call for the arrest of another Chapter, it was then the Force Commander became notably irate at the Mortal forces and it was here the Revelers took their chances to escape after acquiring new Serfs to join the fleet.
Having trouble thinking of stuff for the Far Hunters. Not helped since old Turkic stuff is harder to come by/less documented as Greek stuff.Umay: A replacement name for Bacchus III. possibly this is divergence from their pre-Shattering existence. Also from their penance crusade and the isolation they have been subject to. Essentially means Fertility/Great Mother, fitting considering how Bacchus III used to be,Yel Ata: Another name for Zephyros, meaning "The Wind". Closer to a turbulent and harsh storm, which is fitting the man whose actions would lead to the scattering of both Chapters to the solar winds.Kayra (or Kaira): Name for the God Emperor. Rules over all creation and sees all. Imagined more as a sunburst or multiple halos of light as opposed to a humanoid shape.
>>63497065The Fr Hunters' Shamans (Librarians) are quite superstitious and work rather close with the Pure Brothers (Chaplains) to decipher readings and signs to determine their meaning. These signs range all over, a White Nightmare being a good sign, a Predator's turret not functioning properly being a bad one. Such superstitions are brought on by the isolation upon their fleet for generation after generation and have permeated all levels of the fleet, from the Serfs to even the Pasha (Chapter Master) himself. While the Marines have learned to ignore and work around the signs, they still hold an subconscious sway over all the Marines. And would their be Far Hunter Deathwatch brothers?
Is 4chan(nel) being slow? Are they doing maintenance again or is it me?"Saying the Far Hunters have a bad rep is like pointing out water is wet."-Common saying regarding the Far Hunters' reputationOnce an unknown Chapter, the Far Hunters would gain Sectoral and then afterwards Segmentum wide Infamy for the Shattering. While the Shattering of Bacchus III would seem odd, two Chapters feuding causing the destruction/ravaging of planets is nothing new. But the fact that so many Noble deaths caused a significant disruption in the Sector's power web would have millennia lasting consequences. The Sons of Dionysus going Renegade further cemented the Hunters' bad rep as well as the 6-7 millennia long Penance Crusade to either apprehend or kill the Revelers off would increase heir infamy. During their Penance, the Hunters would come to clash with numerous officials over the millennia, they would up and leave crusades and war efforts to seek out rumors of the Revelers nearby, their ever worsening attitudes would deepen the holes they kept digging when they clashed with others.Zephyros wished to create a Chapter that would go down in the history books of the Imperium, and he got his wish... for all the wrong reasons.
Far Hunters gear. The Hunters make use of an eclectic assortment of War Gear. Axes and War Picks have become common place alongside HEAT tipped spears when used mounted atop Bike or Nightmare. The added momentum from said mounts vastly increase the damage potential of such weapons. Their simple construction is also a point in their favor with the resource strapped Hunters, who sometimes go over a century without a proper resupply. The lack of Tech marines like their Revelers 'brothers' is another point towards the Hunters' use of more simple equipment. Said trickle of support includes training from the Forge Cathedrals of Mars, who act upon the Penance Crusade the Hunters are still suffering from. This lack of support and casulaties has led to the virtual extinction of the Chapter's Tech Marines, the work is not taken up by rescued Tech Priest, Laymen or "Tech Marines" who are savvy with technology to make due.
>>63494172Back again.Funny now that I look deeper at the Delta+. It's colors are actually kind of close to the SW. Just missing some yellow.
>>63498561Due to their less than ideal conditions, marines have been known to use all sorts of equipment in addition to the previous weapon mentions. It is not uncommon to see Far Hunters wielding Lasguns and Stubbers if they can get a hold of them. But despite the Hunters less than ideal conditions and reputation, few would say they are disloyal, excluding some Hunters that have ran off into the night to escape their life of ignominy. Many have been found in other Renegade bands, Pirates or even Chaos Warbands in leadership or follower positions.
When the fuck is maintenance over? This shit always happens when I have a day off and rearing to go on a creation thread, but everyone seems to be waiting it out.
Well at least we got some good stuff. Shame about this stuff with OP and the site.We got a 1d4chan page out of it.
Age, Deeds of Note, Strength and Trophies of the Titan Legion
Rolled 7, 8, 6, 5 = 26 (4d10)>>63502888And messed it up. Those Trips :(
Rolled 15, 7 = 22 (2d15)>>63502888>Age of Rebirth - As the Imperium prospered, so too did the Adeptus Mechanicus. So the Legion is actually younger than the Hunters. Interesting>Failure and Despair - The forces of the Imperium have been shamed! And the Legio played its part. Your stratagems were weak, you princeps inefficient, your Titans found wanting. The enemies of Mankind know your weakness, and to complete their humiliation, hunt you throughout the galaxy. Yikes! They brought shame to to a failure of some reason>Half Strength - Scarred by war, the legion grows tighter. Not looking good for these Titans. But they sort of mirror the Hunters what with their reduced numbers>Shattered Blade - At the height of battle against the full force of the Eldar, your Titan shattered the blade of their mightiest Titan against its god-machine hide, suffering no damage in the slightest. But they at least have some Wraithbone trophies over the Warlord scale fireplaceFailures and Quirks
>>63502991>The Spirit Isn't Willing - the machine spirits of your Legio are finicky even more so then other machine spirits and this has cost the Legio battles and may cost them even more Looks like we found why they lost so much before. Maybe the MS think they are Hoplites? Or they're just utterly bullheaded about stuff> Embrace of the New Way - Worship the Omnissiah as the God Emperor. Will put them at odds with the Mechanicus along with being friends with the Far Hunters, who destroyed the Dark Age defense system on Bacchus IIIThese are some odd ones, this legion is rather interesting after all.
Last thread I put the idea of the Proto-Revelers using Heat Blade weapons de to lack of Chain/Power weapons. That was scrapped since they had warp tainted gear. Why not give them to the Far Hunters? They're pretty down on their luck and use whatever they can get their hands on, so superheated metal blades seems like a perfect fit, and it'd be cool to see the color scheme with the hot orange glow from such a dirt simple weapons
>>63503583I think someone had mentioned the Far Hunters having heat spears so that seems to be accepted.
Whelp going to bed. Shame what happened to day. If anyone else comes around when things get fixed keep this alive and save some stuff to the 1d4chan page
>>63504405Didm't see you. People always post when I open the page. That was me by the way
>>63504429Well I think it would be cool. The glowing heat spears would be a cool contrast to their dark armor and mounts.Do we have an image in mind for Talos Deimos?
Hey guys. Sorry I disappeared. My internet providers are being unreliable, and down right cunts.
