According to the article, it is a tidal locked planet, meaning that it has no "days" or rotation. So, the far side of the planet is around 50 degrees above above absolute 0 (So thats what? -275 celcius or something?) That side could be colonized. Sorta. Or rather, rape that side for metals and such. It is an earth density planet, so metals abound in the crust. Surely you could get some mining going on the planet. Not sure about cost feasibility though...
