Citizens are reminded that even though the moth breeding season is over one should still exercise caution while traveling outside the city walls. This pubilc service announcement was brought to you in part by Iconocorp. Iconocorp - solving today's problems with tomorrow's technology. Previous threads >>60471109 >>60492600 >>60529899
>>60587793Daily reminder that Iconocorp promotes mental-death and personality overrides.
Remind me again, is it possible to artificially breed these things? We've had success Mostly. lab breeding other creatures. >>60587793Any particular reason you're doing this anon? I like these threads, but they just seem a bit,,, weird.
>>60587793You jumped the gun. Don't need to post one ASAP once the other goes down. Give it a day or two, even, my man.
>>60589069>Remind me again, is it possible to artificially breed these things? Yes, but it is typically advised to NOT do so. For all our sakes.
>>60587793We still have two more weeks of moth breeding season down here. I wish you guys up north would acknowledge that there are people living in different climates or at least turn the power down on your radio transmitters. Every year we have a few idiots die because they listen to the radio instead of the locals. We're not exactly losing our best and brightest, but we need warm bodies for labor.
>>60590877We typically forget you because you guys tend to have some nasty shit down in your areas that nobody wants to deal with or associate with. Sorry.
>>60589069Not OP, but this is some of the best stuff on /tg/ right now, honestly.
>>60590877I always assumed that "accidentally" broadcasting it early was part of some campaign to weed out certain parts of the population.
Did somebody say Moth season?! Check back in a few hours fer a look into a special invertebrate and one-a my favorite organisms--the Slake Moth!
So has anything been written up or thought of for what's going on in South America? Are we dealing with jaguarmen and meat eating plants and flying serpents? What about Mexico?
>>60593242Well I remember that the Amazon has expanded and is monster hell, and that the West coast has some Mu colonies on it.
>>60593242>Are we dealing with jaguarmen and meat eating plants and flying serpents?Given the state of the universe candiru, mind controlling fungi, and flying serpents seems more likely.
>>60592317Sir, you're gonna have to come with us. That nonsense you're saying got you in trouble.
>>60587793Tired of the constant threat of death on the mainland by out of control monstrosities?Tired of dealing with neighbors that might be members of an evil cult or a minority you don't want dating your kids?Move out into the ocean and enjoy all the living space you could ever want with Iconocorps new and improved Sea Balls, a self sufficient habitat for those tired of dealing with dirt and everything living on it. Come, join us on the endless seas of adventure.
>>60595295Our Sea Balls are 100% self sufficient and 100% eco powered. Grow and catch your own food, recycle your own water and get power from the sun and winds with our patented GREAN POWR reactor system. Still work on the mainland? Forget it, never see the mainland again. Join us, this is the future, on the seas, forever.
>>60595321Why would you want to give the Slake Moths a mobile source of food ON WATER?
>>60587793Has anyone heard about the reports of gaint badger things eating baby moths from out west?
>>60595864Dunno if I'd call the Morgan's Badger giant, least not compared to the cloud moth larvae. But a pack of them can tear one of those cloud worms to shreds surprisingly quickly.Though, no one's really managed to domesticate the things.
>>60595321>>60595295Man, fuck these. We had a few that floated up to here, they're either full of mushrooms or some nasty fuck made its nest there. Ever see an entire ball made of writhing nagas? Yeah, fuck that. They're floating coffins. Although those Raftboys did make some of their rafts with bits of these, so they're at least seaworthy when you manage to clear the nasty stuff out.
>>60595926>Though, no one's really managed to domesticate the things. That's because those badges are vicious little shits who'll eat absolutely ANYTHING they set their eyes on.
>>60587793Hey anyone knows how do I deal with this tribe of robots that sent up their shop near my house? So far they have only been dumpster diving in my neightborhood, but I don't really trust them
>>60597842Well, first off, never invite them into your home. After that, just try not to throw out any mechanical devices and they should move along in a month or two after they've "recycled" anything they can get their hands on.
>>60594831Damn, since when did they let sexbots be officers?
How are things up on the surface in Ireland?I'd check myself, but my bunker is still on lockdown for the next month, minimum.
>>60597936The very instant Iconocorp found a working prototype from the scrapheap I imagine.
>>60597974Not sure. But something tells my you all might have something worse than a potato famine.
>>60591303It's basically old school /tg/ setting worldbuilding mixed with roleplaying. Eventually it might turn into a setting developed enough to run games on
>>60597974Apparently one of the safest and most civilized parts of the world, to the point that they can send expeditions to places as far away as Australia. If I were to guess, I'd say they made a deal with the faeries to keep their island as safe as it is
>>60587793By the way, here is the Discord server where we catalog and organize the lore we make on these threadshttps://discord.gg/mNJrtQ
>>60587793By the way, here is the Discord where we are storing and organizing the worldbuild from the threads
>>60598801Well, if that's the case I reckon the Fae have their work cut out for them, especially if the English royals finally manage to produce that "Magos Rex" they've been hyping up since forever. You'd think they'd tone it down a little after the second century of absence
>>60598406>>60597936I'm not a sexbot, sirs. Believe it or not but working out, dieting, and some good old fashion gene therapy can do wonders to the body. But now I'm gonna have to take both of you in for insulting a IconoSO.
>>60599190The Royal Family is hype and no bite. They only control the areas directly arround london. The rest of great britain is wilderness just like the US, except rainier
>>60599371You should think of wearing something with less cleavage, seriously why do you have a zipper on it if you don't wear anything underneath
>>60599389Now now, Glasgow-Edinburgh (or Glasburgh as locals like to call it) might be a backwards shithole on US megacity standards but it is still perfectly respectable city when you consider the state of rest of the British isles.
Selling slightly used robot parts, don't ask where I got them and i'll give you a 5% discount
>>60599594At least its not troll infested Scandinavia or Australia
>>60599569Sir, am I gonna have to blast you away than plant a gun on you?
>>60588012Because the personality you're born with shouldn't be what decides who you are. With Iconocorp's suite NeuroNu stock personalities and numerous idiosyncrasies to choose from, why be one of a kind when you can be EVERYone of a kind. NeuroNu from Icononcorp - don't you deserve a Nu you?
>>60599389To be fair, the only reasons they don't go any further are A: the Westminster Prophecies told 'em that if they try to conquer the isle's without the Magos Rex, they'll get super duper fucked and B: The Royals are a bunch of paranoid, religious lunatics and have been that way for as long as anyone can remember. They're not gonna risk getting curbstomped, not when they can easily just wait behind the walls of London for their promised demigod, like they've been doing for ages. I'd probably do the same in their shoes.
Germany reporting in, we've got internet again. Well, three cities or so.The situation with the Nazi death lords is finally calming down. I'm dead armies turned out to be weak to the manic-depressive girlfriend our summers have become. The factories are up and running again and we expect to be back at full capacity in time for the battle against Leviathan.
>>60599694Wel...consider this argument...POCKET SAND>Runs away
>>60599761No thanks. Keep that brain-destroying insanity away from me.
>>60599841>Sand hit the faceOh I'm gonna need two guns for this!
>>60599877Icononcorp's industry-leading sustainably harvested GreatMatter comes in a range of sizes and are fully customizable down to the number of neuronal folds. Redefining what it means to be "sane", Iconocorp Greatmatter brains are paving the way for new and unique ways of thinking, and that's something to think about. Iconocorp Greatmatter: because YOU matter.
>>60600160A friend of mine got GreatMatter but then developed Bell's palsy. Is this normal?
>>60597842Just find where they are living and get a few emp grenades, should make quick work of them. Or get a angry mob those always work.
>>60600903No, but that is an STD, especially common among skulllickers. Your friend probably just has a new girlfriend.
>>60599790I heard that the Nazi fags have been using some occult shit, is this true?
>>60601406I don't want to appear racist before my neighbours
What are some reliable ways to get from one half of the country to the other? Obviously there is a big ass forest you may or may not want to go through so that facilitates going around and then there are no doubt monsters and roving biker gangs looking to rob you, or worst, on what's left of the high way.So who's a brave enough soul to hit the road?
>>60601491Well yeah, that's common knowledge. We had a bunch of things wearing Nazi leaders as fleshsuits and rallying losers since the 40s. After that failed election in the states the thought It's time to bring back the Reich again. I spent my last two vacations shoving undead family back to hell. As fun as it is to blow up doomportals just when Hitler is about to get back, we've got other shit to worry about. Like those furry brain parasites taking over politicians, I vote for someone because the corporation behind them has good customer service, not because a brain slug is slightly less shit at aping language than the other ones.
Hey anyone in the Iconocorp ez-living apartments #3701 in Megacity Carolina see Paul from floor 25 recently? He said he had something important to tell me but when I went to see him the whole place was cleaned out and labeled for sale.
>>60601724You can always take a train, sure the ride is gonna probably be uncomfortable, the trip is going to take days if not couple weeks to finish depending on the route and the condition of the rails, the passengers are expected to actively participate in defending the locomotive, there is no on-board entertainment beyond what passengers themselves can provide (plus shooting whatever fucks decide to try attack the train), food is poor, and the ticket cost is through the roof, but the fact that most of the transcontinental trains are both heavily armed&armored and the crew is trained to shoot first and ask questions later ensues that more often than not the train completes it's trip across America mostly intact.
>>60601653>Concerned with appearing racist against the Roba.Enjoy having your hubcaps and engine stolen.
>>60602074>They provide priority seating and discounted tickets based on what sort of guns you bring and who is willing to take the window seatsOkay kids, I know it's uncomfortable but we've been training for this. I'll need you to carry the box of 50 cal rounds for daddy because he has to bring the sniper rifle with us. And make sure you have your ear pro booty.
>>60601724Bit of a secret tip, Michelin Corps are basicly free body guards if you work in the supply troop for a hunter squad. Just need to look for a group that hunts something at your destination.I'm more of a solo worker, but occasionally I take someone along to meet family or the like. No dead so far and ~70% were still recognizable human when we arrived.
Are all the robots here evil?
>>60602333Do you think there is anything in this world that isn't evil?
>>60602333Does it matter at this point, most of those things go rouge and kill innocents anyways. I say we send em all out in waves to get killed by cloud moths.
>>60602333Nah. The professionally made ones are usually stuffed to the gils with survelience equipment and with the unprofessional ones it's usually a tossup between wether it'll work o explode the first time you switch it on, but that's hardly evil on the bot's part.
>>60602878>>60603435>>60603807Damn. This world is way too cyberpunk. I might as well BLOW IT ALL UP!
So I've been thinking of starting a company to cyberize animals for use in the Rural villages and even in Mega Cities. My team and I currently working on process to cyberize horses to allow them to survive the harsh environs of the New American Continent. Their cyber brains will allow augmented riders to better control their animals and also help tap down on the instincts that Fae and other creatures could trigger with their presence.
>>60599618No thanks, matey Can't trust robot part traders anymore
>>60599389>>60599594Highlander here - the return to the Old Ways really helped. Monsters are down, Iconocorp is non-existent. Only down sides are spotty internet and occasionally having to raid the neighbours when they start trying to mate with the dolphinosaurs again.
>>60603861Is nothing natural sacred to you damn robotamizing idiots? I swear, in fifty years everything will be chrome...
>girlfriend's eyes lingered on the male sexbots on display while downtown bros, not like this...

>>60603952Gods damned furries, they're just the worst.I normally just kill shit so rich shitheads can eat it, but there was that one client who just insisted on getting a Vesiptrim broodqueen alive. No one wanted that job, but I was in debt with the Red Hand.Know what the guy did? He ate the fucking shrooms. Because fucking that thing apparently wasn't enough, he got himself turned into another egg factory and the city was overrun with drones.I'm not a great magnus or anything, but when I saw that testament to upfuckery my blood turned to fire and lightning sundered the heavens. Got my second star for magic and shit, but I'm still angry at things getting that far.

Howdy folks, today we're going to be talking about a threat that many people in megacities have nightmares about, the Slake Moth. Now, you might be asking what the difference is between a Slake Moth and a Cloud Moth are. The first important thing to note is that they are related, perhaps the first clue to this being their dual exoskeleton/endoskeleton setup, though the endoskeleton can be thought of more as "pockets" for helium to help with their buoyancy. But their specific biology isn't what makes them a threat to us humans, it's their behavior.Firstly, the Slake Moth reproductive cycle requires blood, mammal blood, YOUR blood. Second, Slake Moths are intelligent enough to have simple farming systems, often keeping "blood cattle" in their vicinity. Some of the most gruesome sights Rangers have ever photographed are the "Blood banks" of Slake Moths, bein' mass graves of exsanguinated people, many with only a few injuries. So you might ask "Ranger Hal, how does a Slake Moth get victims?" This is the grotesque truth: many are willing.I reckon we should examinate that a little further, so let's take a look at Moth cults. First, many moth cults worship them, as they do other moths. All it takes is one slake moth to find a willing cult, and they can keep a steady supply of kidnapped homeless and initiates to feed their blood lust. But if they can't find a ready cult... They build one. This is what happened in the Baltimore Urban MegaZone which killed nearly 70 people before some brave Wardens put down a nest.Slake Moths have psychic abilities, and the know-how to use them to get what they want. They ain't as big as cloud moths, and ain't as hardy, so they rely on getting a collection of die-hard adherents to do their dirty work. Often they get food. Even Slake Moths NOT in breeding need a LOT of food. You'll see missing cats, missing dogs, people, hell they'll even eat large amounts of plant matter like lettuce.cont.
>>60606523As mentioned above, you gotta keep an eye out for large surges in missing persons. But that's not all, look out for ANY suspicious behavior from known cultists--the Baltimore moth sustained itself not only on dogs, but in it's pupa stage it ate nearly 40 pounds of lettuce EVERY DAY! These are the things you gotta be on the look out for if you want to help stop moth infestation of your great city.I ain't the only person to write about these moths at length, and an excellent public record is >>60546601, written by a good associate of us Rangers Theo Grall, from which some of this work is derived.Slake Moth Racial Character Class (young adult)Attributes: IQ 2d6+12, MA 1d6+12, ME 3d6+12, PS 3d6+25, PP 2d6+15, PE 4d6+22, PB 4d6, Speed 2d6x10 run, 70 flyAdult natural abilities:Mega Damage flesh, immune to normal small armspsionic ability (see below)6 actions per round, 4 melee and 2 psionic or 3 melee and 3 psionicSaves: +4 to strike, +3 parry and dodge, +2 initiative, +3 to pull punch, +3 roll with impact, +3 on saving rolls in addition to attribute bonusesPPE: PE x 10 + (3d4x100/lvl divide by 3d4+100/lvl)HP (MDC): PE x 10 + 1d4x100 +100/lvl + 250 MDCFly: 60 km, regenerate 1 MDC per round spent draining blood (average 1 pint/round)Psionics: Minor psionic; player can select a total of 7 psychic powers from either the sensitive, or physical categories. >>60597842Be careful, if they see you out in the open they'll eat you and graft your bodyparts to attain humanhood to commune with the spirits with. There was a bunch around my village for a minute, but some dude wearing some funky suit with a banjo carved them up with some crazy sword and moved on. I thought about offering him some water or something but the dude scared me worse than those mandroids, he just skanked a ratchet off one of their bodies and left.
>>60606313Yeah its basically really expensive puppetry, not nearly as customizable as proper undead servitors. More durable, though I'll give them that.
>descended from one of the 7 witchkings in the great northwest>not that excited about family business, never got the hang of talismans and banishments anyway>sign up for wardens>basic is a breeze, finish my first 2 field assignments without issues>gearing up for 3rd assignment, getting excited about finishing probabation and getting my armband>letter in my mail (literally, made of paper letter)>"Candidate anon, routine metagenomic and family tree analysis have identified several irregularities in your history. Remember this is subject to review if your loyalty score drops beneath the autoprogression threshold. See you in class!"They also set my Liar's Talisman on fire and confiscated my field notebook. I can make a new LT but those notes were handy. What the fuck is going on here? I know they don't like witches but why the fuck even let me join? I declared my heritage on the application and everything.
>>60607918>Smile Serumhow's that anal prolapse treating you? Have you stopped ejecting water yet?
So yeah, the other day we hacked into a satellite, anyone want to see what's up in their neck of the woods? I'll send the link to our satellite feed webcam site via e-mail if you want. Currently the sattelite's over Europe now, I can see Scandinavia.Has it been that white? It's July, isn't it?
Daily reminder that if you ever hear about a HostLord near any megacities you may inhabit, it would probably be best to just kill yourself there and then.
>>60607918Dude you need to be careful they normally aren't to bothered by witches so long as they pass the basic standard loyalty tests.Based on your description of the grilling they put you through they've identified you as having/being something unusual and powerful and are now starting to prep you for one of their 'special operative' programs.
>>60608450Bah, HostLord or Horselord, they all tell me the same thing but everyone with two braincells to rub together knows they aren't real.
>>60608209If you spray some Silver Nitrate (Or Agenothree in street) on your ass within 10 hours, you can avoid the prolapse side effect of Smile serum, though that anon had a double dose so he's still probably got some side effect.>>60607918M8, you got a little bit of fae in you, you're going places. Those places are either Special ops like >>60608519 suggests or to Iconocorp's "Subject review" department for experimentation. It depends which kind of fae you got in you. I've seen it happen before. You're life's about to change, for better or worse.
>>60608664yeah but the only people who have those are prostitutes guilds and pharmacists, or necromancers, and really they'll all try to shangai you the same.
>>60608450I wasn't born yesterday. Everyone knows HostLords are bullshit made up by you conspiracy theorist lot to drive everyone out of the megacities. What does a HostLord DO, anyways? Funny how vague everyone is when they mention them, huh?
>>60608822Funny thing, HostLords are real, but they're not what most people think. They hear the name and let their imagination go wild or confuse it with something else. HostLords were originally an early Iconocorp mobile "living" wifi hotspot that was supposed to roam around the cities. The program wasn't cost effective and the whole thing dropped. The demo units were stuffed away in a warehouse and forgotten. Well, that warehouse was on the old outskirts which was wrecked in one of the cloudmoth "attacks" a few years back and the HostLord demo units, unable to die by design, were set free to wander on their own for all eternity or until their momentum system degraded enough. They were heavily decayed by then and look quite horrific and their wifi signal has degraded into the lower microwave bands, which happen to cause terror and minor hallucinations in mammalian brains. So that's all they are really, just sold old lost prototypes trying to do what they were designed to do without any maintenance.
>>60608396Oh that? That is just a side-effect of the great Swede containment barrier. Sure the never-ending winter sorta sucks but at least we don't have to deal with Swedes being cunts anymore.
>>60603861Could I use them to power a chariot?I'm thinking of using a chariot instead of a car since cars seem to attract monsters with all the noise they're making
>>60610677Have you heard a chariot before? The axles turning, the wheels on the ground, the hooves. None of that is quiet and it's all predictable sound. You'll be found faster than a centipede on Arrakis.
>>60611556Well it would looks cool though, also wheels can be upgraded to be more silent, its 20XX people

What genre of tropes are you people basing this on. It seems to me like you all have a pretty defined idea of what life in this universe is like at the onset but it doesn't come across as very familiar to me.
>>60612590 best description I got for ya is its almost like a kitchen sink 80s vision of the future, where you have Bio enhancements, cybernetics, industrial smog megacities and psychic moths all in the same city. It's like Rapture from Bioshock before the city fell apart, but it has the monster cast from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and X-Files investigator is a real thing you can put on a resume. Its collaborative, no real direction. You want Redneck Trailer Parkpunk in particular region or city? No one will argue with the existance of the great PBR trailer commune of Delaware county, Ohio. Tell the tale you want.
Guys.Remember China?I'm pretty sure China used to be really important. Like 1/3rd of the world population important. It's not a wasteland or anything is it? I mean there's no record of any cataclysm destroying it. But... there's no record of anything about it at all.I have a level B citizenship so I can visit the library for preserved "internet" records, but I'm pretty sure all mention of it has been deleted.Tell me I'm not hallucinating and China is a place that really did exist.
>>60612738THIS INFO REQUEST HAS BEEN LOGGED BY ICONOCORP.PLEASE REMAIN WHERE YOU ARE.
>>60612738According to satellite footage? It still exists, but it's turned into a living tide of metal and machinery now.>>60612900...You might want to run, by the way.
You know.It doesn't really make sense for iconocorp to have a territory with borders and stuff.A megacorp doesn't spread its influence by taking land, it takes over the means of production in existing hubs. They'd spread not outward over the map but between the cities via trading routes and cultural ties. That said, it would still have a territory to defend in a more abstract sense of the word. And if it becomes too big, like the romans, they'd fall apart. Not able to defend the edges of their empire.Who are the major players in this faction? You've got the owners (stockholders, board of directors), the manegerial staff (CEO, branch managers, etc), working staff (middle management to foot grunts) and the customers (any damn soul they can get their hands on, perhaps they could have a special interest group to protect themselves like labourers sometimes have unions. Naturally those in control of such a group don't actually have to care about the stated purpose of thei organisation.)
>>60612958I dunno man, are they even human anymore? I mean, Yang Heavy Industries sure isn't.
>>60612958>CEOs>implying that the Iconocorp CEO isnt that big AI core they built and the "human" isnt just a hologram. You notice that guy never does live news conferences, just videochats or prerecorded speeches? Ever notice how Iconocorp hqs are always near old military bases or US contractor buildings, especially Intel or comp research?
>>60612958Insider here. It's actually true that there's conflicts of interest and rivalling claims of authority within iconocorp. However, it's not in anyone's interest to admit it openly. There's no tribal considerations here, nobody has any need for their own name and identity. So factions don't have names for themselves. They're just something you're brought into by the senior that trained you.For example. Iconocorp is big in europe, right? In charge of city defense, mutation control and police. So a level-A citizen in NY must be pretty happy when they merge with Skadr in Norway, right? More revenue means more stock dividends.No. NY won't see a cent of that money. That merger was an acquisition of that faction. The people there have a completely different culture, they're raised serving and/or worshipping cloud spectres. They have no loyalty towards anyone in New York. They use a membership customer system to move the money to the people in power as a discount expense. The founders can't acknowledge that many of these factions aren't under their direct control and the schismatics use the name Iconocorp to operate their business. There's still some respect between parties. Belonging to the corp actually gives you rights that footfolk don't enjoy even if it's not your own faction you're dealing with. And they do exchange materials and services, they just, you know, pay each other for it.tl;dr: there's a whole economy going on within iconocorp>>60613128lol, is that even a secret? Holy shit folks. Writing dump incoming. Rolling back the timer a bit to shine the light back on Cyndy, the Ag Extension "Administrative Specialist". What's an Administrative Specialist? Read on!0130Location: Sector 34. Cuts, Butts, and Ass Barber, Humidor, and Feed ShopBefore getting out of her vehicle, Cyndy untucked her hair, and popped the top button of her blouse. She applied a muted shade of lipstick, enough red to grab just the right level of subconscious attention she was looking for, but dark enough as to not warrant unwanted attention."Well... No heels, but it'll have to do." She thought, as she slid out of her vehicle. "Besides, those tend to be a more urban thing anyway." She, almost, sauntered purposefully into the establishment until she was waylaid by a heavyset woman with strong Mediterranean features. "Sandra! No one told me you would be in town tonight!" The woman looked her friend, up and down, still dressed for work, and yet disheveled enough to fit in with the late night clientele; her previously warm smile chilled somewhat, "Business or pleasure?""Business, has Ronnie been in tonight?""That man!" she spit, "You are a good girl Sandra, what business could you possibly have with that swine?""I need something from him for one of my Researchers on Outreach tonight. His A.S. said he often disappeared down this way around this time when he's on night duty. Don't know how the hell anyone lets that fly when somebody's life is on the line. I'm going to take a wild guess, from your disdain, and assume he's downstairs with one of the girls?" "Lindsey has him. The other girls are a bit too new for me to trust around him.""Looks like it's Lindsey"s lucky night.">Exercises for the reader: What other kinds of places exist out in the countryside?>What are their hours?>Who owns\runs them?>What happens "under the table?"

>>60614242Cyndy walked around back and opened a pair of old cellar doors, pulling them closed behind her. As she stepped out of a short hallway, she entered a warm, well stocked bar. The room was a testament to wood. Everything was a unique handcrafted piece of some tree someone had likely risked life and limb to cut down and have shipped in. Each of the lights that lit the room was filtered to give off an orange-yellow glow, complete with a shear piece of fabric blown by a fan to create patterns of shadow to simulate an open flame."Hey Sam!", she waved at the bartender who looked like he could bounce at least 3 guests simultaneously without much effort. "Sandra! What a pleasant surprise! What brings you here tonight?""Looking for Ronnie. Need some information.""Sure thing. You know the way. If you need anything holler. The Missus doesn't like him too much. When you're done, let me pour you something. I never got to thank you for what you taught Bernice. The Accountant only charges us half price to file our taxes now.""Thanks Sam, I will," she said, blowing him a kiss, "Rain check on the drink, or at least whip me up something I can take on the road. It's gonna be a LONG night."She walked past the bar to a deer trophy hanging on the wall, grabbing a piece of cue chalk on the way."Howdy, Charlie, care for a lick?", she sang as she scratched on the deer's nose with the chalk before spitting in her hand and wiping off the chalk.A seam appeared as the wall slid open to reveal a corridor with private rooms on either side lit by the same warm orange lights. She walked down the hall, hearing hushed voices behind each door, until she found the door frame marked with "L**""Oh my..." She thought to herself as she knocked, he must have really been pushy to get that mark. >Exercises to Reader: In a world where groundbreaking and fending off danger is actually an everyday occurrence, what kinds of unexpected secrets might turn up? >>60614353The woman inside the room stopped speaking, and cracked open the door, her eyes widening as Cyndy walked in the room. "Hello Lindsey, sorry to interrupt, but your client and I have business." She redirected her attention back to the man angrily rising from his chair. "Ronald, what a surprise seeing you here. I'd expect the someone as important as you to actually be on duty tonight, considering Iconocorp has seen fit to hog the entirety of the Fire Warden Air Tanker fleet thanks to losing control of yet ANOTHER prototype.""Now what the hell, I don't know who the hell you think you are, but you'd best get out of here, I"m in the midst of very important...""Business?" Cyndy said, picking up the stack of papers that were very clearly being read by the girl before she walked in, and began skimming through them."Interesting, isn't it? Why would a Fire Marshal come to a very private establishment and risk gaining the reputation of being a lech with said establishments owner's wife?" The man began to turn a bright red as Cyndy continued, "And why bring documents with him, hmm?" Lindsey spoke up "Ma'am that isn't at all...""I'm very much aware of that Lindsey. I'm aware of a lot of things. Like the fact that that the position of Fire Marshal has a minimum requirement of being literate.""Would you read this for us Ronald?" Cyndy asked sweetly, holding out a sheet with the words "HIGH PRIORITY" emblazoned across the top.The man took the proffered papers as a look of panic began to form."We're waiting.""Ma'am, he can't... Hey can one of you guys get in touch with headquarters, this is security personnel 2584 city outpost charlie. I just woke up after a 15 hour shift took my break in one of the janitor closets and when I woke up everyone was gone. Was there some kind of drill? So I have something of a love/hate relationship with Summer. On the one hand, Crying Maidens are more active around the Summer time. A few even get ballsy enough to come into the wealthier portions of the city to snag a few dogs and unsuspecting kids. That said, I start raking in dosh during that time to exterminating them.
>>60617046Right now the 'canon' has one megacorp that has pretty much swallowed everything. But there's still different factions within that megacorp to make it functionally multiple. Which probably explains why the local branch is so into mind control, it's the duct-tape holding together a crumbling empire.I agree that multiple corps are cooler. But then you start to end up with a free market and that's not very oppressive. You people are always complaining about Corporate States like it's not a beacon of fucking light in between fae forests and moth nesting grounds.
>>60617196Wow, they're even making it wear a suit. Really trying to humanize these boltbrains, aren't they?

That usually shuts them up.)
>>60617235how the fuck do those things even get into the cities and past the defenses im thinking of sewer systems, but i dont think any warden or exterminator or what have you is brave enough to delve into the sewage system of ANY megacity at all
>>60617238The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence I guess, back at the Cybercommune of Gibraltar people always bitched how things would be better if megacorps were in charge.

It's nice to work in a place without arthropods.
>>60617235Dogs are too smart for maidens, they smell the rot and avoid. Kids are far more likely to get taken.
>>60617174You might have a point there. Maybe this all situation is making us all too suspicious of each other. Less... human. I will try to offer her a toast then. I am sure she will like it.
>>60617238I'm not sure I agree it's been fully established that Iconocorp swallowed everything. The idea of the corporate states seems to have been recieved at least somewhat well, and the initial post about that included that things there were multiple megacorporations, with Iconocorp being the most powerful, to the point of being the regional hegemon. AS for concerns about things feeling less tyrannical, that's not something that necessarily follows. If the megacorps are acting as governments, then regional and vertical monopolies would probably be incredibly common.
>>60617196>Taking a pic of her while She's chargingBro that's harassment.
>>60617391Potentially. The Sewers are ripe with various beasties that eventually find their way into the cities propers but it's only one of many ways.>>60617529True. What the dogs are smelling (aside from the decay of whatever they ate) is the pheremones that constitutes their "magic" You see, Crying Maidens emit this pheremone and it has something of a hallucinatory effect that seems to work specifically with humans. So, combined with thier body shape, a few scraps of actual human cloths, and the pheremones it's kind of convincing enough to draw you close enough within striking range. All they need is one good bite and then they can drag you off. That said, their pheremone sacks catch a good price with...Certain markets plus whatever takes you can get from ridding an area of their presence. If there is any conspiracy that they are being brought in all I can do is shrug because I never have to go out of my way to find bugs.
>>60617249Yeah, the boss makes us call it Tim too. Real fucked up shit>>60617360I guess I'll try that. >>60617758Another "market" I won't exactly go into to much detail but if that's the sort of thing you're looking for then Strangers are your thing. They typically stand as tall as a man and their bodies are adapted with an endo and exo skeleton that gives it a roughly humaniod shape when it stands up and wraps it's wings around itself. These guys tend to be a bit more brazen stalking parks at night because they are harder to pick out then Crying Maidens. Then again, Rurals have to deal with them more often than city folks.
>>60617127Well said corpslave~ have fun being turned into a robot.
>>60617616 Yeah, I remember Iconocorp's actual sphere of influence being surprisingly small on the first maps, but still covering multiple mega-cities. That's also part of the Reason I'm a little adverse to them being "Big in Europe", the other one being a question of travelling betwen the continents

>>60587793Hey folks. Ranger Ballard Young speaking. Ranger Hal had to take a call, so he stepped out. Which means I get roped in to giving you your little lesson for today. Let's talk about Rawheads.Rawheads are less of a threat and more of a nuisance. They're distant cousins of Snap Dragons (hence the prominent sails). Because even the largest Rawheads never get bigger than, say, 6 feet, they have a nasty tendency to slip through walls and other such accouterments megacities put up to defend themselves from the outside. They're also highly territorial and aggressive, and won'y hesitate to attack any bystanders it deems a "threat."Like their cousins the Snap Dragons, Rawheads do not eat live prey, fortunately for us (sans the occasional dying animal or Red Grass junkie). Rawheads are scavengers, and they get most of their sustenance from- you guessed it- us. Be mindful of what you're putting into your trash, and remember to never throw out anything that bleeds. (1/2)
>>60618107The tricky part about killing a Rawhead is that they are FAST. It's estimated in an open environment they could reach speeds of up to 80 mph. No one's quite sure how they do it, but most folks tend to believe it's because they got some sort of coiled muscle in their legs that shoot off like a spring when they're in danger. But besides their insane speed, they boast tremendous dexterity and agility when fleeing a threat- like, say, the Fire Fighters called in to deal with 'em. Add on top of that a venomous bite and 6-inch claws that can cut through metal, and you've got a tricky situation on your hands.Fortunately, Rawheads are about as intelligent as a bag of rocks, and baiting them ain't to difficult. The real trouble comes when they die. See, Rawheads mark their territory with a kind of musk- similar to that of skunks, when they were around. And when a Rawhead DIES... well, all that shit gets loose, and the smell tends to linger. As a result, most Rawheads are taken out of the city (or dumped in a less-than-sightly area), if possible, to be killed. If this precaution isn't taken, the kind of shit we draw up from the sewer makes the problem ten times worse. So for God's sake, DON'T THROW OUT YOUR MEAT WASTE IN THE GENERAL TRASH!
>>60618130Thanks, Ranger Young!

>>60618242I'm gonna move out anyways, big city life isn't for me
>>60618042Good luck getting the permits.I'm pretty sure necromancy is heretical in every place that isn't a nepotistic shithole.
>>60618323Nothing few hats, hoodies and bribes can't fix
>>60618042All right, first you've got to get in contact with some local Necromancers, the Rangers or Wardens will refer you, we've got a nice professional arrangement going. Then you need to get initiated, swear in blood your allegiance to the Corpse City of Mu, that whole song and dance. There's a lot of rules, which can be summed up as:1. Do not tell people how Reanimation works. Anytime that secret gets out merry hell always follows, just ask the Germans about those fucking Death Lords. 2. Do not attempt to use your newfound knowledge to try to make yourself into a fucking immortal. These rules are enforced via the oaths. Break these oaths and the wrath of the Corpse City will be upon your head. After that, you do some apprentice work, basically interning for one of the older fogeys and, at that point, you're in.
Hey, I'm a britfag, and I'm actually from a county that wasn't as badly affected by the fae retaking the land, but there's a really bad problem with ghosts and aquatic themed specters, I have to ask, since the Albion dusk disaster, does anyone feel that the fae are a lot harder to deal with than before? Also, SHOULD spirits be allowed to use the self check-out at tescos if they need assistance from a member of staff anyway??Pic unrelated, Im just really proud of my hedge
>>60618749Ask your fucking cloud spectres, since you guys adore them so much.
>>60618749My mom has a similar one, has it holding the various tools while she's working in the garden, it's adorable. Anyway, screwy thing about a lot of ghosts is, they don't quite know they're DEAD, or don't believe they're dead. Dousing them with salt tends to help them believe because;ldkfalksdjfkljasdl;kjf;kajsfd.Frigging Oaths. Anyway, Salt. Its good for dealing with unruly spirits, especially maritime ones.

Alright, I'm going to break character for a bit for a meta post, but since the setting is growing nicely, there are some things we have to define properly, otherwise this will become a mess.Exactly how urbanized should the world be? There are multiple, conflicting views, some describing fairly sizeable semi-urban areas under control of megacities, the iconocorp corporate state, and other factions like the freedom force. Others are describing the world as the megacities being small (by comparison) islands of urbanization in a sea of deadly wilderness, with the only populations outside of them being tiny agricultural and survivalist communities and primitive tribes. Also, there is the matter of Iconocorp and other corporations. Initically, Iconocorp was basically the biggest fish in the pond, with their only rival being Ag Extension. The degree to which Iconocorp controlled things was never properly defined. How do you think we should go with the setting? Some people were discussing it on the Discord server, but I don't want it to become a clique isolated from the worldbuilding in the threads.
>>60619280I'm the guy who runs the server, by the way, but I'm not really in charge of the setting or the lore. The discord is mostly for organizing things
>>60619280Regarding the corporations, my feeling is that they should dominate the regions they have massive influence in, but only have that influence in a relatively small area. I like the idea of the American North-East being a region of corporate states, with a higher density of megacities and megacorps competing with each other, as opposed to just a single state controlled by Iconocorp.
>>60618749Fellow britfag here. It helps if you use the tescos that have double as a petrol station, most of the spirits hate the smell, for some reason. If you're willing to deal with the creatures on the moors, you could also try moving further north, the walls around Leeds and Manchester have been really built up since that incident with the direbeasts and the coal residue really fucks with their ability to maintain a corporeal form.
>>60599781Look they may be Crazy Religious, but they haven't given up on their kingdom. Speaking as a Royal Yeoman, we do go outside London. It's just we go back in after we find whatever we were sent out to get. Who do you think brought the Fae "ambassador" to court?
>>60619365I see. Personally I'm for there only being a few Megacities, but they are very large and dense (like a Hivecity from 40K). For example, all of the New York Metropolitan Area would be a single Megacity, but there wouldn't be other megacities for hundreds of miles until say, Chicago, then in the south there would be megacities in places like Miami, Atlanta and Houston.Meanwhile Iconocorp would be the only real megacorp (other than Ag Extension, but they are more of a cooperative of hundreds of smaller companies) and has a presence in all of the american cities, and plenty of influence in their city councils, but only one city actually under their control (I said Atlanta a few threads ago, but it could be any really)
>>60619376Naah Im too far south, like I don't HATE having sea ghosts, they keep other shit away, you just don't get used to hooded phantasms patrolling the streets with ghostly yellow lanterns.
>>60619713Suit yourself I guess, I prefer not having to dodge a parade of guys who got blown up in France 70 years ago on my way to work.
>>60619769Well yeah, but its better than getting eaten by whatever the faewoods throw up! I miss somerset sometimes..
>>60620176As long as you remember your salt runes and 30 different types of talismans you're perfectly fine. Granted the air makes you see through time sometimes, but that's what the gas masks are for.
Other metapost. How extreme should the difference in population between mega and non-mega cities? Should there be midsized cities or only sprawling megacities and small rural survivalist towns?
>>60620354Gas masks or stay indoors, thats what the BBC says, and that's what i'm sticking to it.https://youtu.be/wnd1jKcfBRE
>>60620514It should be large.Besides megacities, I'm thinking the occasional mid-sized city and mainly small rural survivalist towns
>>60616742Since they tried to pitch their idea of patrolling the Shetlands with Meme-Tech. We said no. We have enough trouble with the dolphinosaurs and the other things in the deep when they get uppity.
>>60620514above a certain size cities get too much attention from the monsters and too little support from defending organizations.unless its got something to make it special or unique to earn the extra support, like a mine, or quarry, or Defensible placement on a major overland route.and the break-off should be STARK, as soon as you walk out of the armored gates of a megacity you should feel the isolation

I'm sitting under a decayed log, staring at a jelly. Each tendril secretes a sap. Each drop of sap has a pH of 1.2. Sometimes it can drip to 1.1, but that's on a bad day for me. It's hot and humid in Misery, and it's even worse in the suit. If I have a breach in my suit, I will die. If I hold my breath I think to myself I will live slightly longer. I will, but only a few more seconds. The jellies don't notice me, and as my mind wanders I don't notice them even as they float 20 feet above me and their tentacles drag along. Before I got here I stopped in Misery, under the great arch where the train goes. Wardens requested Ranger assistance, I was told. I had to check in. I don't like Wardens. Wardens pretend to like Rangers. They mock us yet rely on us. Because we don't have integrated cybernetic sights. Because we don't have Dads. Because we don't get plastic armor. I don't like them because they brag. They make too much noise. They focus on the how (to kill) and not the what and why. As I stood in the steel terminal I went to the Warden waiting for me. He is middle aged, a few older than me, and dumping. He wears his glory days on his shirt, his ribbons for participation gleamed where no ribbon should gleam. Dirty ribbons, pristine. He asks me what my Name is. Ranger Al I say. He asks me for a full name. Ranger Al, I say. He asks for a middle name. I stare at him. He stares at me. His tablet is cheap like his uniform. He refuses to let me pass because I don't have a last name. He asks if Rangers get full names. Not important enough, I say, and he scoffs. Some Rangers make up their names. Sometimes they take their wives' names, if they get them. They say it helps them, makes them human, individual. You see Ranger Sal be Sullivan Hale, you see Zal be Zaltan, but I am only Ranger Al. Even my daughter calls me Ranger. I hate it when she does it. Somedays I hate that I'm only Ranger Al. But there is nothing else I'd rather be. Maybe a better father.Cont.
>>60622544Chloro-jellies are dumb. I safely tug on their tendrils and climb. I reach up into one. It pulsates but does nothing, they don't eat moving things, only the dead. I stare at the green on my glove. It moves away when I touch it. It's smooth but I can't tell. I imagine petting it like a horseshoe crab. I want it to be smooth and wet. The horseshoe crab eats the trees with sap and leaves nothing, not even leaves. They migrate and I migrate too. They scarcely see their guest as I scarcely see them when I think. Sometimes I wish I was like them. They don't think much, I don't think. One day I found monster daddy long leg. It was 10 yards tall at the body and the legs were 30 yards each. A little known Ranger tradition is that you name what you find if it doesn't have an entry. Most names don't stick for long even if it remains casual. This one certainly wont. I call it Al's Long Leg. I think that someday my daughter will read about it in an entry and laugh. Maybe her friends will laugh too. I want to be a better dad. I hope that if I plan ahead I will be. Just like picking gear. Except with dad jokes. I'm not good at those. But Lola will love me anyway I hope.Al's Long Leg spears a jelly with it's long leg. I think of jokes even as blood pours out. I wonder if it can see me with 8 eyes. I wonder if will kill me with it's 8 legs. I wonder if I will die to my own long leg.
Hey, did you guys here about that Mu activity that popped up in Ethiopia? Apparently it wasn't anywhere close to enough for a full on flesh city to start up, and the Imperial Defense Force dealt with it without too much trouble, but honestly I'm fucking worried about it happening so far from the Pacific.
>>60622935They're moving inland interesting and worrying I wonder if it has anything to do with the rumor I heard that those Australian croc things have been expanding their range, they're one of the only things Mu seems to fear after all.
>>60623013I don't think it was inland. I think I heard that Ethiopia set up some settlements along the coastline a while back, but we don't get news from outside the continent very often.Shame we don't get big news from off the continent very often, sure would make it easier to keep track of shit like this.

Guys.I found a dusty old glitterstick memory crystal while tending my veggie patch out in the unprofitables reservation. When I put it in the shared computer in our community centre, our 3D printer began spitting out these weird rifles. What am I supposed to do?
>>60625669Well, what you're SUPPOSED to do is contact the reservation administrator. Then, they'll take away the guns, the crystal, the computer and the printers and give you a fancy merit badge in return. What you SHOULD do is try to get in contact with the Freedom Force and sell the guns to them. If you can't manage that, try your local branch of The Church. The priests of The Lost Star are always happy to purchase anything that looks vaguely pre-Cataclysm, and they'll probably give you a pretty good deal for them.
>>60618489Whew nothing bureaucracy these days it seems.Do I have to pay any fees in there?
>>60626800>Do I have to pay any fees in there?Of course, nothing too outrageous just guild fee&apprentice fee if you get your training locally, if you opt to get in Mu you have to pay those and get living permit and pay outsider tax (on top of other taxes of course) during your first 5 years of residency.
>>60626730>contact the reservation administratorFuck that noise. So I was out pickin' some fresh meloranges from my garden a week ago, sweet little things and so easy to grow man I thank my ol' grandma everyday for teaching me how to grow 'em managed to live through the last winter freeze I had so many of them saved up they grow like crazy, and got bit by a little garden rattler. Pesky little things always ravanging my plants and nibbling on everything but I tend to leave 'em be as they scare away other pesks you just gotta be careful not to scare them like I did because I didn't notice I was reaching right by one's nest. Anyways she bit me then ran off but I didn't panic as everyone knows they're venomous but not enough to kill a man just to knock him out for a few days thankfully I've been bit so many times I've developed a resistance towards them so now I only lose feeling of my arm for a few hours instead but I did notice around the bite mark my skin lookin' a little pale green like vomit. Oh that reminds me of that one time my buddy of mine Harold managed to contract a case of the Stomach Pits AND food poisoning at the same time oh man what an ordeal that was poor Harold was in a loop of throwing up until dry heaving then eating more and more due to the Pits just to throw it all up again! This lasted for about three days man the amount of food he ate could have fed an entire moth cult for a month anyways the area around the bite is green like Harold's puke and I've never seen my skin react like this compared to all the other times I've been bit before. I think it's been spreading too I swore the area grew from the time I was bit, skin feels a little rougher where it's irritated as well. Also I don't know if it's just me but I've been able to fill up my nail clippins jar a lot faster recently, man my nails are growin' so fast I clip them almost every day I can see 'em growing right now it's that fast must be some late growth spurt or somethin' I dunno.

They can't be too overt with those, since Mu stuff is kill on sight pretty much worldwide, so they somehow infiltrated a tiny one all the way to Africa and managed to protect it until it became a City. Good thing Ethiopia is stable enough to do something about it before it spreads too far. I hope they never manage to grow a Flesh City further south. Alright. After pouring over numerous Church records, documents, grimoires, scrolls and other texts, I've managed to compile a partial listing of some of the Powers and Forces at work here, and will post them over time. First the Powers, then their dark counterparts.>The Loving Sky: Power of the Air, freedom, breath and purity. Its Blessings manifest as white swans dancing through the air.>The Mourning Earth: Power of Earth, storm, growth and the dead. Its Blessings are vast multi-colored trees that hum with the prayers of the dead.>The Yellow Serpent: Exiled Power of Vengeance, strength, wrath and judgement. Its Blessings either manifest as titanic serpents of molten gold, or writhing seas of yellowed snake skins.>The Lost Star: Power of the Moon, night, the lost and space. Its Blessings are strange stars that shine in the skies to lead those who have lost their way.>The Grand Wheel: Power of Ages, time, development, love and knowledge. Its Blessings manifest as assorted configurations of wheels that cover the skies>The Radiance: Power of Hope, warmth and dream. It has no specific Blessings, and instead manifests through the warmth and compassion of the Sun and life abundant.>The Endless Calm: Power of Waves, the ocean, distance, rhythm and feeling. Its Blessings are strange sigils and creatures that flow and weave from the foam of the seas themselves.(Cont'd)
>>60633570>The Lost Star: Power of the Moon, night, the lost and space. Its Blessings are strange stars that shine in the skies to lead those who have lost their way.I guess that explains why they are so obsessed with pre-Cat artifacts.
>>60633570>The Roaming Prince: Power of Movement, travel and dance. It has no Blessings, instead preferring to wander the land in its own personal avatar.>The Dawn Hammer: the Power which took the Yellow Serpents Seating following its exile. Shares its domains with the exiled Power. Its Blessings take the shape of impressions of a vast hammer wrought from storm and lightning, to punish the wicked.>The Rays: not Powers in and of themselves, but are instead messenger spirits in service towards the Loving Sky. Manifest as either strange 'beads' light in the air or as gold-colored sea life floating in the skies.>The Cycling Song: Power of Music, sanity, logic and reasoning. Its Blessings take the form of abstract musical notation that glide through physical space, and quell the rage or anguish of all those they touchUnfortunately, that is all that I have managed to properly find and compile in regards to the Powers at this point in time, but I'm certain they shall aid you all in knowledge of the Church. Now I shall go and organize my notes on the Forces and their own dark dominions.

The Forces intrude, and knowledge of them is paramount to opposing their servitors.>The Great Moth: Force of Blood, poison and decay. Its Curses take the shape of great tides of blood that wither whole cities before fading back to their master.>The Dreaming Flesh: that which sleeps within the wretched city of Mu, it commands all abominations of flesh and its dominion is mutation. Its Curses manifest a titanic growths which spread their influence and force the infection onto all within range.>The Paradox: Force of Madness, unreason and temporal rot. Its Curses manifest as breaks within the fabric of reality, capable of scouring clean whole portions of the worlds history.>That Which Sings The End: this Force holds no known dominion, but is known for its Curse which drives people to heights of impossible frenzy, a twisted song that hails from nowhere and everywhere.>The Lightless Emperor: Force of Tyranny and injustice. Its Curse takes the shape of a great titan of ebon darkness which swallows all light and life in its path.>The Binding Key: Force of Imprisonent, torture, manipulation and corruption. It has no true Curse, instead opting towards causing the moral and spiritual decay of large corporations and political powers, locking away what makes them human.>The Sightless Eye: Force of Lies, abandonment and observation. Its Curses manifest as great burning eyes that are only visible to lone individuals, constantly inspiring terror and weariness within their spirits.>His Timeless Plague: Force of Disease, ruin and slaughter. Is locked within a great tomb both within and yet beyond time itself. Its Curses manifest as an ethereal decay within the flow of magic itself, fighting those practitioners who do not protect themselves carefully.>His Consuming Maw: Force of Consumption, starvation and greed. Does not manifest any known Curses, devouring souls in-Astral.

>>60638098I don't live anywhere near a megacity, and that looks fucking horrifying.
>>60638243What's so terrifying about honest small town entrepreneurs that put their heart and soul into their business.
>>60638272they put a little too much heart in it
>>60638272Some people are just too damn used to dealing with soulless, heartless, and impersonal megacorps and thus get spooked whenever they see honest-to-god small businesses that aren't run by cabal of AIs, cyborgs, and rich cunts buried in their life-support sarcophagi.
>>60632583>amputate and cauterizeYa see I was already one step ahead of the game and did that myself, just put my arm into the grinder for a few seconds and out comes a freshly chopped limb. Good thing it was still numb from the venom you know that reminds me of one time me and Harold were out collectin' some glowshrooms for some soup and out comes this aug'd up cat I mean it had cybernetics and robot parts everywhere on it the only thing still cat about it was it's rump anyways it was crying and meowing like it was in real pain I mean sparks were flying and oil was leakin' like a burnt out combine being pushed to the limits on some Omegafuel and so Harold being the good kind hearted animal lover he was picked it up and started trying to put it back together and plug any leaks but then it's right arm just fell off and started attackin' him with a mind of it's own! Scratched him up real good too I just couldn't stop laughing though he dropped the cat and it hobbled away but the claws dug real deep into his shoulder man there was blood and chunks of flesh flyin' everywhere, kinda like my arm just now in the grinder. He finally ripped it off of him and stomped on it man to this day he don't like cats no more I don't blame em never liked cats always pissin' everywhere and lounging around not even attempting to catch some ratkin. Anyways I was about to ask what's the best way to cauterize my arm but I just now realized it already healed still lookin' like vomit is that normal? I mean I'm not science wizard but it looks like my arm's growin' back at a reasonable rate well I guess I won't have to wait as long to get back to pickin' my meloranges.
>>60640333Sheeeit man, you remind me of this Harpooner guy I knew who got bit by a Naga. Kinda weird one, too, usually they're kinda greenish but the one that bit him was purple. He started growing gills and keeps dehydrating real fast. Now he's like half-fish or something, still growing carapace. Probably shouldn't ate that Naga that bit you, I guess.
>>60632508>Lad, if you sold that shit onto the Priesthood, you could comfortably buy a penthouse apartment in Megacity A1 and live there for forty yearsOl' buddy ol' pal, I've been an unprof for 35 years. There's no place for me in any of the Megacities, even if I can afford it. I can't just wash 35 of unprofitability off. Getting treated like shit for 40 years isn't appealing, even if it's in a mega-shitty.
>>60638316Nonsense, a business can't have too much heart in it.
>>60638243If it looks horrifying, but it works, it's not horrifying. Check your mega-urban privilege.

Virginia Wolfpack Reporting. We've been able to recently claim a vast tract between our territories among the valleys of the Blue Ridge mountains and our Viking clansmen in Roanoke. We're looking for any volunteers to help clear the carcasses of the nest of wyverns that we've slain. You can settle in the area and will have the full protection of our pack and immunity from the fae with possible opportunities to join in sacred oathes with them. You will also be responsible for growing crops for the area and helping out with the new community we're building with the aide of the fae. If you have small children with you, you may wish to "find" some wayward youngsters on your journey and offer them up to the fae upon entering our territory. The goblins don't harm the children and in fact make them their own and we all know how good the goblins are with tech so the children face a bright and prospectful future after assimilation.
Virginia Pack againTo give you background on our group. After the dissolution of the federal government during the initial infestations, our tribe banded together and raided the local hardware and grocery stores before retreating back into the tunnels of an abandoned brick plant in the mountains, rescuing anyone we could on the way. Our group initially consisted of several medical professionals, two blacksmiths, a half dozen cooks, a mycologist/herbologist, and a few factory workers. Most of us were trained in several martial arts, weapon forms, and two guys with explosives experience. We set up near the James River and traded with the brave souls coming along the river like days of old. We survived as we could until the moths came east with the storms, we'd heard the reports from the west coast but had been relatively safe until that summer. The traders stopped coming and we heard Richmond had been wiped out again. We lost a few of our tribe before we knew we needed help. The fae offer a good deal and they can't lie so as long as you read the fine print you're golden. We took their deal and were granted the power to defend our tribe and we slowly began to take back our land with ancient magics and fang and claw. So far we have repelled the moths and most of the creatures we've encountered. As I said we just dealt with a nest of over a dozen wyverns and have taken their clutch of eggs. We now have an established connection with the Vikings of Roanoke and trade them mead and blacksmithing for supplies and irregular internet access.
