How do you like your werewolves, /tg/?
sexy and full of hot blooded passion
>>55671882Frankly I've gotten bored with them so I usually don't include them.
KillFuck SoulShitter incarnate
>>55671882Mysterious and wild, with a certain low cunning. Not schemers, but maybe pawns in a villain's plans. Really, I teeter between sapient or no, and currently I'm more on the beast side than man. Pic not related, but it's a nice historical image.I have a question of my own for this thread - do you like your werewolves to be bipedal or on all fours, essentially just large supernatural wolves? I usually go for the two-legged variety, like Lupin in the 3rd Harry Potter film.
With a silver bullet lodged firmly where their brains should be
The less furry, the better. The more brutal, the stronger.
>>55672404big if true
>>55671882As a curse rightly feared.
Total War is only game that's done them justice, but there's plenty of badass tabletop Werewolves.
>>55672164>>55672185>not posting superior werewolf
>>55672728Yeah, now that I think about it there aren't a lot of cool werewolves in vidyas
>>55672000Start Bipedal, but due to the curse progressing or something like 'losing their humanity' turn into fuckhuge on all fours wolves.
extreme death machines who transform into beasts at fullmoon making huge slaughters and not remembering anything afterwards
>>55672000With mine it depends how you contracted the curse, if you got it via a bit you will be a more bi-pedal werewolf, while if you are born into the curse it will be quadrupedal. Neither method effects how much control you have in the form though.
>>55671882Large, muscular with a berserker rage. None of this faggot Underworld/Twilight shit
So in the modern world how hard would it be for someone afflicted with the curse to go unnoticed? You'd basically have to be a hermit right?
>>55672728>only gameExcuse you?
>>55672985With enough knowledge you could easily go on a monthly 'hike' to somewhere really remote and still function in society.
>>55672985Have one of those retractable ladders into the basement. Put an extendable hook in a wall safe for when you're back to normal. Simple. You wait out the transformation in the crawlspace/basement with no way for you to get out without accessing the safe. Sure, it makes you look like you have a rape dungeon, but you're a werewolf. By that time you're probably not really concerned what other people think of you.
>>55673075What game is that?
>>55672404>>55672870>I like my werewolves to be as cliched and overdone as possible>Oh, and really bara :3Yeah, no. Roided out muscle machines are boring as shit, no matter how much you complain about the "furry" boogeyman.
>>55673849Honestly, what the fuck? Why people complain about furry shit when, you know, playing a fucking werewolf?! The whole fucking point is to take a man and turn him into a fucking big ass wolf-thing
One way ticket. After each full moon you don't go 100% human, and it grows like a multiorgan tumor, until one day you never turn back. Also, tons of body horror involved.
>>55671882Rare, savage, and nigh unstoppable. There's only been 3 in recorded history and it took either armies of men or preposterously powerful magic to destroy them.
>>55674022That sounds excellent. Have you used this in a game before?
>>55674042>There's only been 3 in recorded history>Le unique special snowflakeHow to make everything boring without even trying
>55674073Gonna have to try harder to get a (you) from me boy.
>>55674072It was player's idea in an ongoing campaign. I just greenlighted it and went on with it my way. Eventually his PC ended up as suicidal mess (in a quite literal sense of mess) and ended up with killing the character. Sounds cheesy, but since it was for a narrative-driven horror game and he was really great at roleplaying, it really wasn't.>>55674085Gotta learn how to use >>, boy
>>55672164>>55672185This, but also in heat.
>55674085>Gotta learn how to use >>, boyWow you missed his point super hard. He didn't use >> so you don't get your (you)
>>55674162Your idea is still boring as fuck and about special snowflake, so like I fucking care. It's not me yearning for (You) here, you pleb
>>55673569Vampire the masquerade bloodlines.
>>55673569Vampire the masquerade:bloodlines. Good game, its world of darkness i think.
Mangy and prone to gorging themselves so much that if you hit them in their distended stomachs hard enough half digested people spill out.
How would weres behave when rapey. How do it work?
>55674195>so like I fucking careYou certainly care enough to keep replying.
>>55674251Ask Ginger... or was it Britget who had weirder sex life in the end?
>>55674085>>55674129>>55674162>>55674195>>55674261Both of you post werewolves, or shut the fuck up.>>55674274First of all, Brigitte. Second, neither of them ended up fucked by their respective stalker, but I would still vote Brigitte, since he lived long enough to even make such threat.
>>55674177I can work with that.
>>55672728I would have preferred if CA had hewed closer to the GW artwork for Skin Wolves which had them as quite gangling. It gives more of a sense of the other-worldliness that I prefer to see in Chaos.
>>55671882I prefer them like Balverines. Really annoying to deal with and animalistic.
>>55674323Ginger fucked that one kid thou. And as far as fandom is concerned, he was the werewolf chasing afer Brigitte
>>55674177I always wonder what the morning after would look like. How would a werewolf react when she wakes up as a human and realizes some guy seduced her as a wolf?
>>55671882Scary, powerful, dominant creatures that straddle the line between human and animal. I'm not a fan of lycanthrope as a curse, but I do think it should be a mixed bag that you either need to be a sociopath or an incredibly strong willed person to really enjoy.
>>55674553Probably bashed his head with something heavy. I mean it's pretty much the same as seducing someone on roofies
>>55674745Enjoy what?And I'm sincere here
>>55673849Congratulations, you've made your point. You and you alone are the alpha faggot.
>>55673773Truly there's never been a more heroic face down of a mythical creature in the history of fiction.I mean he fought werewolves with dinner plates RIP spoon, you gave em the shits.
>>55674323>tfw you really enjoyed all three ginger snaps movies, even the the third one because the continent sized primordial forest of pro-colonized Canada is an underutilized setting
>>55674841The best part is how he managed to win a 1 on 1 fight with a fucking werewolf, using just his fists, a knife and a frying pan of doom.
>>55674553>>55674751That depends on whether he met her in wolf form or not. If she was in wolf form, it's on her, if they met that night while she was in human form, and then she went wolf and he seduced her, it's pretty skeevey. Unless of course she went wolf form, dragged him back to her place, and then had her way with him.
>>55674922You make it sound like the movies were bad, while they are one of few decent movies with werewolves in them.
How do I stop being afraid of werewolves
>>55671882With points in Monk.
>>55674981wait until your 10th birthday
>>55674925Honestly I laugh every single time he's at the point where he's just flinging shit at the werewolf screaming, right near the end of the fight. >>55674954I don't think they're bad, in fact the islated, winterey mental hosipital setting of the 2nd almost seemed like it was made for me to enjoy it. The fact that I'm a leaf and they're a successful small town Canadian horror movie makes me like them even more, I just haven't met people that even know about the ones beyond the first. I thought Ginger was a really good example of lycanthropy, fighting it till the point where murder is better than sex, really devolving her humanity.
I prefer my werewolves to be a brutal combination of man and beast. Combining the best parts of the whole. Mans knowledge focused into a brutal cunning and the wolves strength and speed. Beyond that I am alwasy torn between how much control the human side has over things and whether or not they transform only on the full moon.
hidden packs similar to vampires in modern media with a leader and caste system. invincible to anything but silver ala the hulk, though i usually add Dragon fire to the list of weaknesses.
Does it still count if they're not actually a werewolf, but pretend to be one so people show up with werewolf fighting gear instead of demon fighting gear?
>>55674762Being a werewolf. I likely wasn't clear enough in my post. A sociopath might enjoy it for the freedom and power, the thrill of the hunt, etc. A strong willed person might enjoy it for similar reasons, but would likely find ways to control the instinct and just enjoy the wildness of it.That all assumes that its possible to keep a degree of agency and sapience when you transform, and that the transformation itself isn't so horrible that it cancels out the potential for enjoyment.
>>55674922>>55675031Ginger Snaps was good, although the 1st and 3rd were the best. I'm not sure just what they were trying to do with the 2nd one.
>>55675034>Beyond that I am alwasy torn between how much control the human side has over things and whether or not they transform only on the full moon.I like the idea that the older a werewolf is or the longer its been a werewolf the more control it has over transformations and reasoning. That way you can get the whole crafty old wolf and still have your hot blooded killers, too.
>>55675031If it helps you, then I'm a Pole, I saw the entire trilogy years ago and not counting the shit-tier translation of the title (making it "Photos of Ginger", thus making no sense with sequel and prequel, but that's just a norm of Polish translations of titles) it was really fucking good. I've only later learned it was some sort of small budget independent affair and not just regular movie series.tl;dr the movies had enough impact to reach another side of the globe. And Poland isn't exactly a friendly market for independent stuff, as everyone pirates. Hell, I saw the 3rd movie only because I've pirated it.
>>55675209I can agree with this compromise honestly. Though I've also enjoyed the idea of those with strong wills can control the beast while those of weaker wills are left to become relentless killers and destroyers.
>>55675188Not counting the final scene, 2nd movie was great. If it would just end with Brigitte getting trapped in the basement, it would be spot on. The final scene completely undermined the twist by overstretching it.
Full of silver.
>>55675250That's good they're recognized so far from home, Let the right one in is a vampire movie from your part of the world, not as low budget but still a great example of the genre (classic monsters) done right.>>55675262Yeah, being kept against your will in a hospital is bad enough, but when there's really a werewolf out to get you and no one will believe you because it's a mental hospital, well I just love the premise and setting, the whole movie feels hopeless to the main character . I doubt I'll find a trilogy I genuinely enjoy more than Ginger Snaps.
>>55671882My werewolves are men biten or cursed with lycanthropy. They turn into a wolf at sunset and become a hideous man-wolf creature when the full moon rises. At this point they need to either kill a virgin and eat their heart or mate with another werewolf of the opposite sex or they will revert to a wolf after the moon sets and before dawn. They will stay a wolf forever if theye fail either task. Female werewolves bacome pregnate with their first mating and give birth in about 4.5 months and always born in animal wolf form at night. Born werewolves are considered cursed but can revert to a wolf form anytime except new moons, and only the abomination form on full moons where they lose control of themselves and must follow the same rules as other werewolves or forever be a wolf. However, born cursed can eat the heart of animal virgins so it's easier for them than the born human werewolf.
>>55671882I like the Abomination from Darkest Dungeon, does that count?
>>55672728Norsca have werewolves in Total War?? since when?? id get that dlc if it wasnt $10Also, where can i find other images of models from Total War: Warhammer like this?
I approve of this thread for sustained Dog Soldiers references, not only for Spoony (alas sweet prince) but also because it was the most sensible response to a threat in a horror ever, fort up and shoot it a lot.
>>55680645Don't forget the all important weaponized camera flash
>>55671882The transformation has to be bloody and painful. None of that cursed with awesome shit like in teen wolf and the like. Lycanthropy has to be a fucking problem.
>>55680645>>55680687I think this is the only movie ever where someone instantly decided to just use boiling water as a weapon, without it taking some reveal or exposition for them to use it.
>>55672985you hear about all the native girls that go missing along a certain highway in canada?thats how.
>>55672985You need a place to lock yourself up for the full moon. Could be as well your own, sound-proofed basement. Now I know burgers don't have basements, but that's not my problem.Or just having a cottage under the town.
In my fantasy setting I have 2 typesPurebreeds=Werewolves you were born werewolves. They have 3 forms(wolf form, humanoid and beast)in humanoid they take the form of humans but still have the wolf ears and tail.halfbreeds=People who have been bitten by purebreeds or somehow ingested their blood Halfbreeds have a normal looking humanoid form, the only difference they have is that that they have longer canine teeth than normal. They can turn into their beast form but unlike purebreeds they cant maintain it forever and must constantly seek out prey when in the form
What if the werewolf wants to be a good boy?
>>55674981Watch their movies. If you have any tolerance for gore you'll get over it.
>>55671882I found this(https://www.fvza.org/wscience1.html) to be a good resource for scientific settings. I like classic werewolves the most, though silver shouldn't be the only way to kill them. Just the easiest.>>55680714Unless it's all on the nights of the full moon I'd chalk that up to wendigos.>>55680645I still don't get what the bitch's plan was beyond fucking with her food.
>>55671882As cursed and negative as possible. There is no way to have self control when you transform no matter how hard you try. You also remember everything you did in beast form and worst of all, you remember enjoying rip'n'tearing your victims, in your werewolf form you become a nasty and vicious creature.Silver is the weakness, but there are no cure at all, except death. The transformation is also extremly painful, you feel your members and bones expanding themselfs, your skin is tore apart, leaving gruesome bit of a sort of "fleshsuit"Appearance wise, I just go with a bipedal wolfman, but there are some variation like a wolfman without extra hair or with a head more similar to a man (though absolutly disgusting) than a wolfAnd of course only during fullmoon
>>55671882There are multiple variations from differing sources, but they're otherwise rare as fuck. Most are wild animals, some can control their transformations, some can't. Some have highly specific weaknesses. One variety is immune to the ravages of time and is effectively immortal except for blessed silver penetrating their heart.
People who can transform into wolfs, when wearing a magic wolf skin.
>>55672000I like quadrupedal upright, with really disgustingly long arms
>>55680934Nah, this is America, they hand out drugs like candy. There's an easier way.
>>55671882Producing enormous awkward and the players frantically shuffling their feet avoiding informing their boss of the latest mission outcome.
>>55681360>Unless it's all on the nights of the full moon I'd chalk that up to wendigos.Maybe they are fighting over them, like the wendigo decides to show up on the night of the full moon. I fee bad for whoever gets caught between that.
>>55682631Not worth it like in the picture it just wouldn't feel natural.
>>55671882Like Beast from Disney Cartoon.I just love his design.
>>55681360>I still don't get what the bitch's plan was beyond fucking with her food.Getting out. She flat outs points this out. There are two different things to consider here:>Megan's storyMost likely version was being stuck with the rest of the pack from all that stayed in the movie. She was either part of the family, or REALLY unlucky when it comes to her "behaviouristic studies", thus ending up as a werewolf by not getting mauled to death. Doesn't really matter, because the important bit is being stuck in that area and wanting to get out. Apparently that's not an option without the rest of the "pack" going after her. So naturally her role was getting rid of the pack, one way or another.>Marshal's commentaryGoing by extensive commentary on Blu-ray, Megan wasn't part of the original script. At all. She was pushed in by producers, while Marshal openly hated the idea of having her at all, doesn't matter what role in the story she would play. He still did it as much as possible his way, since the original Ryan-Megan-military high-ops subplot (script-wise) is the MAIN story, and the things you see in the finished movie were SIDE story to large military conspiracy. Marshal managed to push as much as he could (being independent director with really weird funding sources, including fucking spinach industrial farming conglomerate), so in the final movie Megan's role is gutted to the bare minimum and Ryan is reduced to extra.
>>55682631My fucking sides... Guess this, combined with a basement, would be the most efficient way
>>55674553Relieved that she didn't wake up covered in blood and miscellaneous gore chunks...Amazed and low-key impressed that he somehow got a murderous, man-eating monster to make sweet, tender love to him...
>>55682823That's a hilarious idea that I'd love to use in a CoC campaign someday.>>55683153Thanks. Put like that it's a lot clearer. I really wish there were more werewolf movies with even half the costume budget of Dog Soldiers.
>>55683461>sweet, tender love>not raw, brutal fucking
>>55683568Look closely at the image attached to this post (>>55674553)...Does this scene look as if 'raw, brutal fucking' preceded it?
>>55671953RIP, Wealthy Piano
>>55683646Whoops, I had a blonde moment and thought you were speaking generally. My bad.
>>55674922I think you'd enjoy this thing, anon.
>>55683544Considering the entire movie cost 2.3 million pounds, was done using (now defunct) Luxemburg tax cuts and takes place almost entirely in the "house" set (aka inside building, shot on a sound stage), while the outside of the house is just two walls (pic related), there really wasn't nothing much else to spend the money on than the costumes. Then again, I saw once a guy wearing an almost identical suit on a convention. Not a furfag, actual DS cosplayer. He didn't say a single word when nagged how he made the costume.
>>55680707In the first punisher movie Frank Castle uses boiling chip fat as a weapon against the Russian dude, that's sorta the same thing.
>>55684327Yeah, but he improvised it on spot. In Dog Soldiers they are deliberately boiling water to use it as a weapon. That's a huge difference.
>>55671882angry and savige.bloodborne got it right.
I like it being a curse, for the most part. It's a blood curse that makes you lose your humanity and you succumb to a lesser bestial state, but one that is an incredible danger to everyone around you since it's supernatural in origin. So you lose what makes you human (form and higher intellect) and turn into a 7-foot brick shithouse capable of ripping open cars like using a chainsaw to open a can of tuna.Werewolves have stayed for the most part untouched in this regard, but a lot still keep some form of intellect. Where does the "curse" part come in if you keep your human form but can switch to a smart AND retardstrong beastman? It has to be 99% a bad news moment if you get infected, like a death sentence.
>>55673075Put a trigger alert on that shit anon.
>>55685652Heard you were talking shit...
I prefer werewolves to have British accents and guns.

>>55685938Anon, this will probably amaze your American - or Americanised - ass, but I come from place where comics don't exist as anything else as some American bullshit with zero value.Unless it's Thorgal, that is. Then it's still bullshit, but at least "our" bullshit.
>>55686454It's French, Belgian.
>>55686497Rosiński drawn it, so go figure why I've put quotation mark around "our"
>>55686497Anon, know the fucking difference between "French, Belgian" and Franco-Belgian. Because you've just managed to miss the entire fucking point of Belgian comics being written in French, instead assuming some retarded co-production.

>>55686967About mid 00s edgy design, the type marketed from kids who were too metal for being emo but not bright enough to stop being edgy. You know, the whole mid 00s werewolf and wolf craze and one of the reasons furfaggotry had a serious spike of popularity back then.

>>55687036Holy shit... you DID confuse those
Standard really but when werewolves get to an advanced age their body undergoes a final change, mutating into a permanent form that can either be incredibly monstrous, beneficial or both. For example when mother sent little red out to deliver meat to grandma she found out the reason why grandma lives so deep in the woods.
>>55687036The difference is that death metal artists are really concerned with people thinking they're hardcore.
>>55672728>Total War is only game that's done them justiceWhat an ignorant thing to say.Play some Disciples II.

>>55688831>Big, beefy, savage preferably female monsters, prone to giving into their bestial impulses while they're transformed,
>>55688993Well more stereotypical "Bestial impulses", if they actually behaved like a predator would they'd be far more skittish and less aggressive unless cornered/threatenedSo I mean stuff like how predators are often portrayed in fiction, bursts of rage/aggression, desire for raw meat/thrill of the hunt, pelvis shattering sex, running wild through nature, establishing dominance, possibly eating people, stuff like that
>>55677816>Norsca have werewolves in Total War?? since when??Since the 90s when they had that Dogs of War regiment of renown with their werebear captain. Then a few years ago with 8th edition whfb saw the skin wolves introduced from FW, the table top models are more gangly than the ones in TW:W though.Lycanthropy in general is a "kinda-sorta" deal in warhammer, it's there in the older background, kinda-sorta, but largely ignored or was not developed past its brief mentions. And now that Warhammer Fantasy is dead outside of video game licensing it doesn't matter. On topic; I like 'em classic, people cursed to turn into bestial monsters by the light of the full moon. And that's mostly because I can never come up with something cool and imaginative when I try and make up army fluff and world settings.
>>55671882Servicing horse cock
>>55671882I think this one is great because you really get the were in this one, where as often in other cases they just feel like wolves on two legs. They don't feel like half men
I like them this way : You are prey to us. It is all you will ever be. Your cities, your technology, your numbers cannot save you. In the dark of night, in the places you fear to tread we live, we wait, and we plan. We were here first. We preyed upon your ancestors and their ancestors before them and we prey upon you at our will. You are civilized because of us. You began living in groups to try and defend yourselves, seeking safety in numbers. You made weapons and tools because your hands and teeth were not enough to save your lives. You tamed wild wolves, and domesticated them as dogs to join your defense. You developed agriculture so you wouldn't have to wander into strange lands. You made cities to fortify yourselves inside walls and houses. And still it is not enough. Though you breed like rabbits, we will kill you at will again. The time is coming when your numbers will be thinned and you will know the fear you've tried to forget. You will remember that you are prey and that this world is not meant to be your dominion.

>>55689897Agreed. It's creepier looking than most werewolves.
>>55694743Have you ever heard about such mysterious thing as "balance"? Or "lack of extremes"?And by default, if you add something to setting, then it either plays a role in it, or it doesn't belong. One of the rules of thumb for worldbuilding, just so you know. So by making werewolves or some other creatures so rare you can count all the examples in history on single hand - either all the record burned, you don't understand how to integrate legends into your setting or you are a really shit world-builder.Guess which one is the most common.

>>55680743>>55680747Damn the fuck right, VAN HELSING MASTER RACE
>>55699086Kind of the whole fucking point, mate>>55702261>2017>still posting fake postersYou know nobody was really interested in making the sequel, right? Marshall outright stated that after they were done with the movie, he was sick and tired with fighting back and forth against pretty much everyone in the production, and lost all interest in making another one before they even finished editing.
>>55671882Vanilla, or maybe Dresden. Or any other cool shit you can come up with. But none of that "alpha" shit. Or for that matter, rapewolves. If you're into either of the above, go back to AO3, dickhead
>>55671882For as much as I hate where the series went, the Anita Blake series had good weres.
>>55693896...What? Bloodborne had a neat take on a concept I hadn't previously found appealing. What's edgy about that?
>>55671882Under full moons
>>55672000>Implying that isn't Anubis
>>55687036Heavy Metal in this case is a fucking magazine which is what they were discussing. Not the broad genre
>>55691701>>55691925There's a lot of different ways it could work. But basically they aren't human nor are they cursed to begin with. They can turn into the classic anthropomorphic wolf; they've mastered language; and they don't like homo sapiens. On the other hand, perhaps they are human. But perhaps they're the originals. They are not cursed. The old tales are misremembered half dream recollections of a time before language. A time when people could turn into animals, and the world was their oyster (so to speak). And then something wrong happened. There was a split. Children were born who could not change. Some advocated the slaughter of such abominations. Others said such a thing was monstrous. Those children might be lacking in the most basic way, but they were still _human_. Killing them would just be wrong.Or maybe it is the monologue of a madman. There are all sorts of possibilities.
>>55704123Not that anon, but it looks edgy and retarded.
>>55686130For my Arse!
>>55705675I thought the antlers and the asymmetric arm gave it a lot of character, personally. I picked the Cleric Beast because it's the the first boss in Bloodborne, and the point at which it's clear that the game is not about "normal" werewolves.https://youtu.be/HK9p-V-_810?t=91Maybe Vicar Amelia's more your thing?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAgEQwX6q6QI never really thought there was a lot you could do with werewolves. They maul people and/or eat them. Maybe they're smart about it, maybe not. That's about as far as it went, in my eyes. Bloodborne took werewolf-y ideas and ran in a very different direction with them, and I found myself liking it quite a bit.
A human shape twisted into a more canine form. Not a wolf with a human body. Also, can only die by a silver bullet. Dismember it, burn it, bury it alive. It will not die. It will regenerate and kill.I also prefer when it's a curse and the afflicted don't know they're cursed. They just come to in the morning exhausted and dirty.
>>55672985>So in the modern world how hard would it be for someone afflicted with the curse to go unnoticed?Being powerfull enought
>>55706212Stop replying to that anon, he's just shitposting because fromdrones are easily triggered
>>55671882Like an old tin can sailor
>>55671882Generally, I like were-creatures to turn into actual (albeit large, and slightly weirdly proportioned) wolves instead of the whole anthro thing. Alternatively, if I'm feeling really unimaginative, werewolves don't exactly turn INTO wolves, but they do undergo musculature engorgement and the afflicted's mentality turns lupine. From there the idea is that, while they do act like wild animals, the are certainly much much MUCH more powerful, quicker, and tougher than any real animal should have any right to be.
>>55706488Jaws was a wereshark?
>>55706212>Maybe Vicar Amelia's more your thing?Maybe.
>>55706212Nah, I'm good with antlers. Its just the rest of the design, the weird Spanish moss shit hanging off of the limbs, for example, that doesn't work for me.>>55706250>fromdronesI don't even know what that is, paranoidanon. I just didn't care for the design he posted.
>>55706212Gotta agree with you anon, Bloodborne's werewolves were fuckin sweet. I really enjoyed how they rolled a vampirism stage into the beasts lifecycle.
>>55706018>Rectal Ravisher>Meatloaf quote>FOR MY ARSEWhat did we do to deserve this wondrous comic.
>>55674177>tfw poppin a chubtime to kms
I like when they're enslaved to/controlled by vampires but neither like each other.
>>55702391Film was cheesy and trashy, somewhat enjoyable though, but man the werewolves were cool as fuck in that
>>55710716Don't think of it as being a furry, think of it as a free expansion for your spank bank.
>>55706212The antlers make me think that they crossed their werewolves with wendigos. Not necessarily a bad thing mind you.
>>55685144Fuck id forgotten about them, Fable did some scary/ cool looking werewolves, love the Balverines. Shame everything after Fable 1 was awful
>>55690642Yeah humans sure are pathetic prey right
>>55706834I think there is an anon or two, who leaked from /v/ and are pushing their paranoia around. This is one of those situations when someone is so deep into specific board, they are no longer capable of crossposting without making it awkward.
>>55714940All /*v/ and /v*/ boards are incurable trash.
>>55715396What's with those * ?
>>55715396>>55718093Never mind, just as it got posted I've realied what you are about.
>>55706577maybe?I mean in the urban fantasy setting I collab with a friend though, we explicitly wrote out the possibility of things like weresharks. It's Wolves, Panthers, Foxes, Bears, and exactly one Were-eagle.My friend explicitely said "I'd rather not entertain the concept of 'wereoctopi'
I like my werewolves to be highly sociable and practice monogamy.
>>55710716Why would you kill yourself over that?
People with terribly repressed instincts.Nerds and generally losers make for best werewolves.
>>55723279> Pastor's kid> She's also a librarian
>here's your werewolf
Descended from musings on modern fantasy over the past few days:>for 99% of the time, mostly human with small identifiying features such as pupils and sharp teeth>ability to control transformation, but full moon means you have to do it>increased senses with additional risk of sensory abuse (e.g. dog whistles hurt like a bitch to a transformed werewolf, and gas attacks are extremely effective)>no bullshit invincibility or supernatural powers aside from regenerative factor>regen factor is a light "oh hey my body's going to totally purge this cut within a day" instead of "lol it vanished in 3 seconds">pure silver burns permanent marks into werewolf flesh not unlike an acid attack, jewelry has to have warnings for silver content and it's on the same legal tier as splashing acid on someone's face if you press a chunk into a werewolf's face or something> no particular special durability, shoot a wolf in the chest and they'll die as easily as a human, though blood loss might be a bit less due to the wound starting to heal fasterAnd for whatever reason I can't get the image of a WW1 German werewolf facing down a British centaur with bayonets out of my head now. I gotta draw that shit later
>>55725791Why the fuck do they always have an enormous cranium to go with the transformation?Does it confer any increased brain tissue amount?
>>55671882Design wise: a bit less wolf-like and a bit more monstrous. The underworld series, for all of its flaws, had a damned good lycanthrope design.Gaming wise: Predators through and through. The intelligence and cunning of a man given to the body and instincts of an apex predator. It's simple, but it gets the job done.
>>55726502A big part of why I prefer a more monstrous look is the implication it isn't a real predator that makes any natural sense but prey's nightmare of a predator that they've become.
>>55725795>>55725791>>55725486Needs more tartan
>>55689897someone knew what they were doing when they designed him

>>55732686Yeah that's the point
>>55734262I don't watch Harry Poofter, did rowling use lycanthropy as a metaphor for the gayness?

I like them cursed and uncontrollable.
