At the end of our last session, we were back in the near-destroyed kitchen of the malt bar, scavenging for food. The two Anna clones sit in the diner area with condiments from the tables. So far no sign of the slime.

    >Lacerated right hand (impares ability to carry objects in right hand)
    >Acid-burned right leg (cannot move as fast)
    >Swolen right side of face (missing five teeth)

Brown-haired Anna has damaged right wrist, cannot form tight fist.

    Blue Hawaiian shirt
Bellbottom jeans (bloodsoaked, right leg destroyed by acid)
    Work boots
    Lead pipe
Broken porcelain razor (no safe grip)
    Wallet (uninspected)
    Eagle Scout merit badge
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)01:39 No.5518897
Oh SHIT! You came back! Sweet!

Can we check the wallet and see what's inside?
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)01:44 No.5518952

The wallet is a worn, black leather affair. Flicking it open you find a photo of an Italian-looking man and his son out the front of a baseball stadium in full supporter attire. According to the driver's license, his name was Claudio.

There is also a handful of loose change and a twenty dollar bill inside.

    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)01:46 No.5518982

    Nothing much that is awesome.

Hmmm... feed the Anna clones I guess. We must be hungry as well. Grab whatever is in the fridge and get out there. Fuck this diner.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)01:50 No.5519026

Still wary for anything movinf among the scattered pans and dishes under the counters, you take a small box of the warm cola bottles out the front, disappointed that there is no actual food. Sitting at the table with the clones, you quietly share the cola and pork rinds, and eat most of one of the bottles of ketchup when the brown-haired Anna offers.

The meal isn't much, but it will keep you going and you all feel a little better as you stand to leave.

There are still a handful of cola bottles on the table, although seeing you don't have a pack it may be a bit of a pain to carry them...

turn our shirt into a makeshift bag
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)01:55 No.5519099

It's a shame to do this to the fresh Hawaiian you only just found, but you reason that you need a bag more than you need to look cool or feel comfortable.

Quickly you tie the sleeves and fold the corners upward to form a makeshift knapsack.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)01:57 No.5519141
    Time to leave.

You have explored most of the areas of this 'safe passage'. The only two ways to go are either down the staiwell which opened in the mall's wing last night, or to backtrack back to the cellblock and hope whatever ate the original Anna's corpse is gone.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)01:57 No.5519143
actually, can't we do this to something from the women's clothing store instead?

    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:00 No.5519188

You facepalm before taking both Annas back to the clothing store. Finding a thick and long skirt, you fold it up to make the knapsack and don your Hawaiian.

You now stand in the front of the women's clothing store. The stairwell falls away into darkness to your left, and straight ahead is the employee accessway where you entered the area from. The right is blocked by the caved-in roof.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)02:01 No.5519204

    How's this?
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:04 No.5519252

Go back to the diner and put some bottles into the napsack, as well as any other crap we have. If it's not heavy have one of the Annas take it.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)02:10 No.5519336

Hobbling once again over the foyer, you stuff whatever is left into the makeshift bag (three bottles of hot cola). It isn't a lot, but it is still sustenance of a kind.

As the blonde Anna takes the pack (the other unable to grip it too well because of her arm), you ponder your choices again: down the stairs or backtrack past your cell. Neither is terribly appealing, but so far there aren't any other paths available to you.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:12 No.5519369
down the stairs i say, there was a fucking beast guarding our cell. whats to say he isnt guarding the other cells too?
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)02:22 No.5519511

Holding your pipe ready, you walk to the mouth of the stairs with the two girls in tow. It is pitch black in there, but when you kneel before the sront of the stairwell you can see the orange glow-in-the-dark paint dots continue along the wall. Sidestepping the reciept machine you threw down you walk forward into the darkness, one of the two girls holding onto your shirt.

The path underfoot echoes of a dull metal as you travel in black, turning a corner after some minutes before an amber emergency light illuminates the hall ahead. Approaching, you see a closed bulkhead door terminating the passage, a sign bolted to the wall with stenciled letters in old white.

Listening for a moment, you can hear nothing from the other side. Now is as good a time as any, so you turn the wheel and push the door open.

Inside, the unadorned and dirty concrete room is lit up with sickly yellow neons. The floor is scuffed with black, as if hundreds of people dragged their feet in combat boots. In the far right corner of the room you see a counter marked QUARTERMASTER, bulletproof glass separating it from this room. A door marked 'RANGE' disappears rightward. The door on the left seems to have been welded shut.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:26 No.5519560
what's on the other side of the glass? Can we get to the other side?
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:31 No.5519630
Look in through the Quartermaster window, see if there are any weapons you could use.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)02:32 No.5519642

Entering the room you walk to the counter and inspect the glass. Crisscrossed with wire fillaments, it doesn't budge at all when you test it. The gap below the windows is too small for you ar the Annas to fit through, and looking through you find that nothing is within reach if you put your arm through.

Leaning against the glass, you can see a computer on the bench near you, and empty weapon racks against the far wall. Whoever owned this place, must have cleaned up shop when they left, nothing remains.

... wait, that's not true. On a workbench on the right wall of the room is a black carrycase, a little smaller than a laptop case but thicker. It is closed.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:35 No.5519680

But take some distance from the Annas, we never know

    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:47 No.5519851
is there some sort of door to the quartermaster's room? presumably not one that we can currently get through, but does it look like it connects to the firing range or the other path?
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)02:49 No.5519861

Leaving the glass for the time being, you look into the doorway of the range, and upon seeing that there is no-one, you walk in with your pipe at the ready. Frightened, the Annas keep close behind you.

To your left, a doorway to the Quartermaster's office sits locked. An electronic number pad sits nearby, and seeing you don't have anything suggesting the code you ignore it for now.

Turning to look down the actual range, you are about to lean upon one of the booth counters when you freeze, heart stalling. Against the back wall you can see the distant figure of a girl tied among the targets, illuminated by spotlights on the wall. Arrayed in front of her you can see some devices hooked up with pipes to a forty-gallon drum. Stabbed into the concrete of the range you can see a small sign in front of you:

You can hear faint sobs from the far end of the range.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:50 No.5519884
    can you see the camera?
if so, tell one of the annas to try and pull the wire out, while we shout over to the tied up girl
whats holding her? can we undo it?
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:52 No.5519900

Order the Annas to stay put no matter what and hop over carefully to the tied girl, there really nothing else we can do
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)02:55 No.5519937

Looking around with the Annas, you eventually spot the flickering red light of a camera halfway down the range's wall, in a patch of complete darkness. It is near the roof, and the Annas won't be able to reach it. Currently, you can see no others.

You can't see specifically how the girl is secured from where you are. To see better, you would have to jump the counter and walk down the range (seeing you have no magnifying equipment).
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)02:57 No.5519957
can we not boost an anna up with out manly strength?
can we shout out over to the girl, without waling into the line of sight? i really dont want the monster from the start coming for us again.

Throw our pipe to break it
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)03:01 No.5519999

I'll have to ask for a consensus, but in any event it requiers walking out onto the range. Steeling yourself for the worst, you hop over. The Annas watch from the light in worry.

Approaching the place you saw the camera's light, you can see the girl more clearly. She is lashed with coarse rope to a T-post, in a crucifixion pose. Both her arms and her two legs are tied.

Her head is bowed as she weeps softly, but you can see a military helmet on top of her head, strapped tight under her chin.

As you step forward toward the light, you hear an alarm claxon sound. An automated male voice rings out over the loudspeaker.

As the alarm sounds you ear a small generator start to kick over from the equipment arrated around the girl. Looking up in terror, she screams as she tries to free herself from the ropes. As she screams again, tears streaming down her face, you realise that her face is not like an Anna.

The device is attached to a small generator. Pipes run from the barrel to a series of barrels, all pointing at the girl. Right now the generator is trying to kick over.

In the split second before everything went to Hell, you saw that she seemed to have ropeburns on her arms, but apart form that you don't know.

    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)03:23 No.5520199
You can hear the Annas screaming behind you above the alarm as you fumble for a moment with what should be done. Racing to the generator, you bash it with the pipe twice before realising that there is no effect on the innards and giving up before drawing the razor in your lacerated right hand and rushing into the light, slashing at her bonds frantically. THe wound on your hand is sliced open fresh, blood dripping onto her legs but you growl in desperation and take the pain.

You are almost done when the first of the guns kicks in, spraying a gout of flame forth. The girl screams as the fire hits her helmet, but you wrench her from the wall a moment before the next kicks in. Dragging her clear from the splash you realise that she is clutching at her face, wailing in pain. She isn't on fire, but you can see blood seeping through her fingers as she cries out.

The alarm continues to scream out as the range lights up like day from the fire, the drum far from empty.

Even if it isn't going to blow, there is an alarm sounding. Scooping up the wailing girl (pipe clattering away in the darkness), you run as fast as your leg allows, back down the range. Dragging yourself and the girl over the counter you yell at the Annas to run ahead of you, through the door and back into the service tunnel. Stumbling once, then twice in the dark, you forge ahead until you are back at the mall's foyer at the mouth of the stairs. Holding the trembling bundle in your arms, you look back. No-one is close behind you, but if there is anyone in pursuit you are in the open.

Grabbing a black lacy bra, you cram it into her mouth forcefully. She almost chokes, her burnt nose obviously hurting to breathe through. But she can't be quiet, so you have no choice.

Getting the girls, you dash into the black room and shut the door, bumping into the discarded scuba tank on the floor as you sit against the wall. You can hear the Annas quietly trying not to cry, but snivels still escape. The girl in your arm shivers gently, cries muffled through the bra.

The Roy Orbison song is still playing over and over from the jukebox as you walk toward the kitchen door. Against your will you draw the porcelain razor. It is the only weapon you have, and even though you hurt yourself every time you use it you don't like being unarmed.

Quietly you enter the destroyed kitchen, keeping an eye out for anything green and fast before lifting the bar from the rear door and opening it inward.

Cold air assails you from inside the room, and as the light flickers on you feel sick.
In the centre of the freezer room an Anna clone hangs limply from a meat hook. Frozen blood crystals splatter the floor under her, and her mouth hangs open drunkenly. Her death wasn't fast.

With a sickening crack her shoulder snaps off, the hook coming free. You retch at the sound, but barely stop yourself from actually vomiting. Taking a minute to collect yourself, you stand and wedge the hook under the freezer casing before leaning back, the case slamming open. You tumble back into the shelving, but after deciding you aren'y hure you stand again and look inside.

Wedged in the dead-space obtusely is a small wooden box. Opening it, you see a tiny ballerina pop up, music chiming delicately. You know the tune, but you can't place it...

Lastly, you rig up a handle for the razor. It isn't pretty, but you shouldn't hurt yourself on it now.

Taking a moment, you think about your choices. With no new paths opening, you either have to return to the cellblocks and hope the beast moved off, or return to the firing range and try to avoid guards (if there ever were any).

As you look closer you realise that the ballerina's face looks eerily like Anna. Your throat goes dry.

Closing the box, you open the chocolate box and inspect each little heart, snapping them open. The insides of each are filled with a different filling. A pink one smelling of strawberries, a yellow of pineapple, a green of key lime pie.

    They look very expensive indeed.

Anything else in the chocolate box, under the tray that the chocolates rest in?

If not, try to wake the girls up and see if we can get any information from the new girl.
    >> Soleam 08/20/09(Thu)05:13 No.5521133
Ask the helmet girl what happened to her?
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)05:13 No.5521135

You lift the tray, but there is nothing. Just a heart-shaped carton. For a second, you think back to the demise of the first Anna. You go cold. Her blood still stains your bellbottoms and arm.

As you enter the back room once more, you are shocked to see all three awake. Looking up at you, the blonde one speaks out in relief.
    "Where did you go?"

You reassure them with a smile, before bandaging the brown-haired Anna's arm gently. She yelps softly as you wrap it around, but doesn't pull her arm away until you are done.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)05:15 No.5521159

The new girl weakly looks at you. "My name is Alice. I... I was asleep in my bed two days ago, and... and..." Her lip curls and she cries into her hands. "... and it took me and I couldn't do anything and then I was here and they killed another girl... I want to go home..." Her frantic voice goes quiet and she weeps, the other two girls looking down sadly.

Information, we want information! (you won't get it :P)

If we can't get anything from helmet girl, check her helmet for anything it might contain, check the lining or look for a serial number or any numbers that might activate that key pad back at the range.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:18 No.5521177
head back to the firing range, peek in surreptitiously if possible, inspect room thoroughly.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:19 No.5521187
ask her what the other girl looked like, was it another Anna?
    >> Soleam 08/20/09(Thu)05:20 No.5521196
Reassure her first before asking her what did it look like that took you. Were there others and how many? drill her for info, but stop when he doesn't want to tell u anymore if it gets to hard for her.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:20 No.5521200
Ask Alice if she knew the other girls name and what she looked like. Try and comfort her and tell her it's not her fault.

Ask here what "it" is, try to get any description.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)05:22 No.5521225

Wordlessly she nods, eyes shut tight. The Annas are obviously upset, but stay quiet.

The helmet has a small note inside:

    RETURN WHEN DONE 08457392
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:25 No.5521244
Ok, put the note into our clean pocket that has nothing else in it. Looks like we head back to the firing range and get that door open.

But be sneaky about it, cause we don't want to get caught.
    >> Soleam 08/20/09(Thu)05:26 No.5521247
Make to have hook in hand. While sneaking.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)05:27 No.5521253

You sit next to her and put an arm around her, Alice leaning into your chest for comfort. You can feel her breathing deeply.

She doesn't know what it was taht took her, but she calls it a monster. It came from under the bed and it dragged her here kicking and screaming. Then she was on the range.

The ones who killed the Anna were like people, with glasses which glowed red. They were army men, but their uniform was gray and red. They never talked. But they hadn't been in since they strapped her to the range yesterday. She hadn't heard anything at all.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:31 No.5521286
ask the Annas about things like their room, parent's names, and such, find out if they are both clones based off the same master.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)05:34 No.5521308

Telling the girls to stay put and that you will be back soon, you make your way quietly down the stairs and to the Firing Range door, hook in hand. Listening at the door, you hear nothing but the alarm. If someone was here, they would have turned it off, right?

Still being cautious despite that logic, you sneak into the range and enter the code into the keypad.

With a click, the door opens sideways and you step through quietly.
The Quartermaster's office is as empty as you thought, the only things of interest in the room the black hardcase, a padlocked cabinet under the workbench and the computer, as well as a ladder upward which you hadn't seen before.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:36 No.5521330
Time to get that door open. Sneak back down there, hook in hand ready to bash soldiers in the face with it.

Assuming we don't run into trouble, we check the room and if we don't see anything else, check the computer and then the case.
    >> Soleam 08/20/09(Thu)05:37 No.5521343
check the breifcase first then the cabinet if theres no key smash it open.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)05:38 No.5521351

(going to assume you asked before leaving)

The Annas tell you that their room was pink, and had a giant plush horse in the corner.

Alice tells you that her room was black.

As for their parents, they don't remember them clearly. It causes them distress, and you have to calm them before leaving.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:41 No.5521376
Check out the case and see what's inside. If we can't break open the cabinet easily, wait till we've gone back for the girls and brought them here before we do.

Opening the case, you find a sleek black handgun in foam with a single clip. You don't know if you have ever fired a gun before, and seeing your right hand is mangled you don't know how good aim you would be...
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:46 No.5521423
then you can tank with the lead pipe while the undamaged Anna provides covering fire.

    look up the ladder.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:47 No.5521434
Take the gun and clip out of the case and then move the foam around to see if there's anything else hidden in there.

Check to see if there is anything inside the gun and see how many (if any) bullets are in the clip.

As for firing the pistol left handed, well it's better than nothing and if you're close enough, it's not going to matter much.

Assuming the gun is in working order (to the best of our limited knowledge, put the clip in the gun and make sure the safety is on. Then go get the girls.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)05:47 No.5521436

The ladder terminates at a closed bulkhead hatch, but the mechanism is on your side so you can open it at will, if you like.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:52 No.5521473
is the alarm still going? go smash the security camera, see if that shuts it off.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:54 No.5521488
inspect the traps-of-maiming that were pointed at Helmet Girl, see if there are weapon options available there.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)05:55 No.5521500

Pulling the foam out, you confirm nothing else in the case, before examining the gun and magazine.

Unfortunately, the magazine isn't full. A total of nine bullets are within, and there is none in the chamber. You load the gun and then start back to get the girls, the quiet of the tunnel deafaning after being in the alarm for so long.

Hiking back quickly, you collect the three, all very pleased to see you return. The brown-haired Anna stands and hugs into you as you stand at the door, the others standing and following as you lead the way back again.

As you walk back to the room, you learn that nothing really happened while you were gone. The blonde Anna tells you that Alice was crying, but they tried to cheer her up. Alice is quiet.

Eventually you re-enter the range cautiously. Still no-one. Punching the code in again, you stand in the Quartermaster's room again. The three girls don't look comfortable in the alarm, but they stick close and wait for you to tell them what to do.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:56 No.5521508
Camera is up way too high, and it only sees the area where we found the girl (Right Gemini?) We should leave it alone and go get the girls and bring them back down here and into the quartermasters room.

Then check to see if we can get the computer working and/or that cabinet open.
    >> Gemini 08/20/09(Thu)05:57 No.5521520

Crossing out to the range, Alice whimpering, you inspect the device but soon learn that the forty-gallon drum fired until empty. Even if you could pull them off, you have no fuel for them.
    >> Anonymous 08/20/09(Thu)05:58 No.5521535
throw the lead pipe at it.
    >> Soleam 08/20/09(Thu)05:59 No.5521543
Cabinet time smash it open with the hook if that doesn't work close range shot from the side to not dmg whats inside.
