>Thelavos managed to conquer most of the Wavach's planetsFucking how? Theocracy Troops are over-costed garbage and haven't been competitive for years. Their stat blocks in the RPG are pretty mediocre as well.Seriously, the fuck are the Kelvaverse writers doing? Are they just trying to push The Bishopess as the new waifubait?
>>53618918Theocracy Zealots >>> Wavachi ConscriptsSecularfags BTFO!
>>53618918>Bishopess>Waifu baitYeah, I guess so, if your tastes are trash
>>53618918>>53619021It's pretty obvious that Thelavos is meant to be beast, they're just having trouble representing that on the table.
>>53618918>Are they just trying to push The Bishopess as the new waifubait? You didn't guess that from the fact that in all of the new illustrations, the bottom half of her robe appears to be made entirely out of dental floss?
>Scraphounds ignored againCall me when something fun is happening.
>>53619085No shit, she's the Denticulatory Bishopess of the Theocracy Troops' Calcareous Brigade. Her robe of office IS dental floss. The waifubait allegation is just Dome and Wavachi players pissed that Theocracy is actually playable again. Anyone who says they are over-costed or have mediocre stats has never looked at the Battle-Dentist profile.
>>53619100Man I feel you, Scraphounds have gotten the shaft ever since they thought it would be a good idea to make jury-rigging a universal upgrade. Not to mention that whole bullshit in the lore with the "Mad Dog" arc.
>>53619158 Don't remind me of the mad-dog arc. Like, sure, let's take the canonically weakest faction, the scrappy outcasts that only have each other, and make them have a fucking civil war. Just kill them all if you want, but come on.
>>53618918>the fuck are the Kelvaverse writers doing?Strippers and booze thanks to you fags spending shekels on their plastic crap figurines>Are they just trying to push The Bishopess as the new waifubait?Yep. Every 6 months with the newsletter you get a new one. Gotta get dem virgins to spend money.
The fact that you fuckers didn't complain half as much when the cat people furry race splatbook came out as you do about any other addition to canon is proof that you're all furries.
>>53620622>implying it hasn't been all Vorhlfags since day oneNext you're going to tell me that Infinite Cave shit on kikestarter isn't furshit when they're trying to get fucking redrusker to do the art.
>>53619266I dunno, it felt more like a restructuring to me. they finally got Chevalrisse in a position of power.
>be Ministry Engineer in party of Jin-fags>everyone keeps trying to perform a Convergence on my tech for the buffNobody cares about the lore anymore i swear
Kevalverse is in the best spot it's been in since the 80's, you faggots are just used to the Bishopess/Wavachi circle jerk that's fucking been in place for the last decade. Now we just need scraphounds playable. God damnit I miss seeing tread-burners at the table
>>53620892You can still run tread-burners if you use them right. They're closer to heavy fire support than full-on assault vehicles. Just load them with anti-tank weaponry and keep them toward the back.
>>53620876>Hurr durr let's converge everythingFucking Jinfags, I swear. It's mostly cause most GMs are too pussy to not fudge away the more awful results of the Overload rolls. Like, holy shit, the chance of your anti-matter reactor detonating is the whole fucking drawback to convergence. If the GM fudges that away of COURSE everyone would do it instead of the Jin.
>>53620892>Hurr-durr tread-burnersThey were never viable, get over it. Having cool fluff doesn't mean it has to feature in every edition.
>>53621101Tread burners were the shit two editions ago. Bet you whined and moaned your Wavachi ass off every time you were tabled by Scraphounds.
>>53621122I never was because no one ever played them back then, and they won't now. They're an NPC faction.
Hey guys I'm looking to get into the game, what faction is best to start with? I hear good things about Wavachi or The Jin.Also are scrap hounds as op as my friend says?
>>53621101>>53621122you know the funny thing about tread burners is that they were never SUPPOSED to be a thing outside of a line in some other book. Their creator, Johnathan E. Hunt Sr (Or just John Hunt at the time) said in an interview that he never really had anything more substantial than being backgound fluff for them but people kept asking for more and more on them so they eventually became a thing. I still don't think he likes them that much personally
>>53621177Scrap hounds got nerfed HARD. The thing that made them super powerful to begin with got corrected so it ONLY procs on Inorganics. Which still makes them good hunters of siege weapons, but the only army they're actually OP against are, Ironically Tread burners
>>53621179No shit? Man, they're almost as popular as the fucking gear boys, was it just the fans? Or was it a corporate move?
>>53619100>>53620892>It's another bitching about scraphounds episodeBeing a Battle Mendicants player is eternal suffering.
>>53620867>they finally got Chevalrisse in a position of power.Only to appease you and the Lord Protector crowd. There is no conceivable way hey would have been able to oust the Royal Family, they had the support of the people, the army and the majority of the knightly houses.I will concede they have done it in a well written way, I like the Cromwellian vibe you get from it. With the Royal Family hidden in one of the Knightly Houses, opens up a lot of intrigue and the possibility for another Civil War.>>53621177Go for one of the Knightly Houses, right now you have options of who to support. Alvarian are stanch Royalists tho, I suspect they are hiding the Kings Family. Depending on which you go for, you can get anything from Ironwork Soldiery, Templarites with dedicated heavy weapons to huge options on Patriarch of the House.
>>53621256Mendicant fans still exist?
>>53621240It was both. The fans wanted it, a lot, and the team at the time saw there was money there, so Hunt decided to elaborate a bit. He's pretty tired of them now and has been for a few editions since their fluff quality is... not as good as before. they really should have him work on ANYTHING else for a bit, the man's still a goldmine of ideas, but that particular path is a bit overworked. And also, let's be honest. The best Tread burners fluff was the early shit when they were mostly mentions in other books
Why the fuck does every thread turn into a scraphound circle jerk? I get it, we like the scrappy mad max survivalists, but I mean they're generic compared to all the other factions.I mean just look at a perdition engine and tell me the prophetess isn't shit. Hell even jin-fags have their data shrines (which we all need to admit is a fucking genius progression of the obelisk unit)
>>53621288Do you think we chose this fate? We don't even care if they're top tier, we just want a new army book so we don't get laughed off the table.
Did you guys hear the rumors that they're going to be giving rules to one of the worldforgers. Not an avatar or a shard. But one of the ACTUAL worldforgers
>>53621347Shit man, I shouldn't mock. At least you have aesthetic, right?
>>53621256>>53621288ThisIt's like I'm back in 2010. Mendiants haven't even been fucking updated in god knows how long, why cling to it?
>>53621296I mean, yeah I can't even argue that. But he's still the only one who can write scraphounds worth a damn.Maybe put him on the prophetess' Theocracy? Lord knows they need some better fluff. Especially considering how fucking dominant they've been on the table recently.
>>53621412Well they could put him back on The Mendiants. Lord knows they need an update
>>53621349So are they going to make the point value so high that no one will ever field it, or are they going to retcon a reason for them not to be game breaking like they did with the Ur Engines?
Anyone else feel like there's too many factions at this points? I mean, I can't be the only one who misses when it was just the big three trying to take Terth. It just felt... more desperate yknow?
How come they still haven't made an Empire of Hannad book? Seriously, they're supposed to be this huge power in the South but we never get to play them on the table? WTF?
>>53621468>Ur EnginesGod, don't remind me
>>53621448Oh fuck, I forgot about the mendicants (just like the writers). Yeah, dear lord they need some love
>>53621468I mean, it'll never be tournament legal, but 1000 point epic matches are super fun and could use some new tech.I need an excuse to bust out my 1K Jin army again.
>>53621476One furry book is enough, thank you.
>>53621468No idea. But if the rumors are correct it's one of the two that start with N so either the Mendiants are getting an update or there might not BE a hannad anymore
>tfw playing Death-Iron Legion Hellbat cheese>All that mobilityThis shit is just stupid, seriously did they even playtaste Hellbats before releasing them?
>>53621511>1k of JinHow much did that cost you? Got to have some old models in there to reach that amount.
>>53621517But Lizard-people are totally fine. lol k.
>>53621531That's how business is done, create a desirable product, Hellbats are obvious, make it overpowered so people buy them to bulk up their army and then once they are sold they reign them in and bring them back to level. They did the same with Ur-Engines.
>>53621511>1k Jin armyOf course it's fucking Jin, their high tier units just blow everyone else out of the fucking water. The only faction that comes close is Wavachi, and that's just due to economy of scale at this point
>>53621588>Economy of scaleI see what you did there
>>53621571Sure. Furry for the regular degenerates, lizard for diet degenerates.
>>53621572didn't we agree not to bring up Ur engines? god, what a mess.
>current year>not running united settlements of ardia acadmy listIts like you fags WANT to lose to hellbats
>>53621548It mostly was ebay lots, a lot of Jin players left the game a few editions back after the lore reboot.I had to repaint most of them, but a few of the models were hilariously bad enough that I had to keep them as is.>>53621588Man, I got a friend who can field a 1K theocracy and it kicks my ass most of the time. Their Zealous bonuses actually start to get seriously crazy at that scale
>>53621511>1k of points in Jin>Only 20 models>Laughing Cult of Orthodoxy.scripture
>>53618918I wish they didn't discontinue the Phallusoids again. I had a full army until soccer moms started saying they were inappropriate and shit. Fuck me man, down six hundred dollars!
>>53621627God damnit I didn't even mean to. But yeah, wyverns and hell bats are way too good if you can field them in large numbers
>>53621511>rich boy jin fag thinks his overpriced box of 20 threac egales will ever see use
>>53621704Didn't their most recent book make it so you can't have NEARLY that many of them anymore
>>53621682They were a surprisingly deep faction, not even gonna lie. Seriously wish they took risks like that today, might honestly breathe life into things. Seriously way too safe, it's getting stale
>>53621682And it's dead.
>>53621726They should just refluff their name and appearance to be less... Well they WERE an april fool's joke
>>53621720YupBunch of people were complaining that egale spam was just as bad as the ur engine so jin can only field one at a time
>>53621670Not until they get some new molds. Those sanguine scribes look fucking horrible.
Dick monster jokes. The thread is dead. Fun while it lasted.
>>53621726Have you seen the stuff they're doing for the Black Hole Queens? I think we're gonna get a spiritual successor to the old factions!
>>53618918Unflarked master race, reporting in. Thelavos a shit.
>>53621754YeahThats why they always got released on the first of april and discontinued 2 weeks laterAnyone who wasted their money on that shit is either an old fag or an idiot
>>53621763In 1k they can field 3 I think
>>53621754I have sixty giant penis figurines that say it was a legitimate faction!
>>53621776> hey what's worse than a scrap hound?> a scrap hound that thinks it's a fucking scientistFUCK the unflarked, they're a fucking mistake of a unit
>>53621805I can't fucking believe they sold the old designs to a sex toy company
>>53621799Fuck offThis is why 1k will die3 egales can solo half an army in 2 turns and take maybe 2 woundsJin was a mistakeStill can't believe they arkied the renegshi wizards for this shit
>>53621834Wasn't that a rumor? I mean even the biggest was, what, 4 inches, tops?
>>53621855To be honest I think the teeth would make them less than pleasurable
>>53621855They had that one behemoth a while back...
>>53621855Well anyways that faction died over 6 years agoWhat they did with an old april fools joke is something we may never know
>>53621845Relax, Wavachi still has damn fine caster units. Renegshi were overpowered, talakesh are perfectly serviceable replacements
>>53621682It wasn't just the soccer moms. The new generation of players weren't buying them (and the old grognards wouldn't touch the new stuff). I don't know what's with them. I can't tell you how many lolsorandumb kids I have in my store playing Unflarked. The rest just play Wavachi, because that's what Tabletop Seminar is pushing right now.
Phallusoid-fag comes in a derails the thread and you guys act surprised. Every time.
>>53621845Chill man, you forgot the fact that ALL of Jin's flying units need a certain amount of footsloggers to "Channel" them or something. And like, ALL of their footsloggers are shit but one
>play woad singers>still haven't gotten a second editon>Mfw forever stuck in the Arcanean sea with Lady Aurora breathing down our necksI want to reclaim the Gallant Prow, but I can't move faster than the endless sea
>>53621898>renegshi were overpoweredThey won ONE world championshipONEand then instantly got removed from the game a month late and the talakesh are shitThe main reason people even pick renegshi was becaus eof the forbidden lore perkThe talakesh have the orthadox puritian trait which makes it impossible to stop a hell bat or egaleWhich would have been perfectly countered by renegshi who was removed a week before their releaseIf that shit doesn't look sketchy to you you must be dense
Ok I can't fucking take it. We have to address the elephant in the room. We can't just fucking pretend the Ur engine's didn't happen. Six months where they fucking made all armies into fodder, and then nerfed to fucking nothing. And that wouldn't even phase me if the models didn't fucking cost a full car payment. And they're gearing up to do the exact same shit with the chevaliers. We can't let them just keep getting away with this shit. The bullshit fluff, the money gated tier system, the...the... god I just miss when this was a fun little game to play with friends. No space furries, no mad max rip offs, just dumb jokes and religion parodies duking it out for one worthless planet. I love the game I really do, but how the fuck can we let it go on like this?
>>53622024>no mad max rip offsFuck off. The Scraphounds were a good addition. 4th edition best edition.Pandering to the fucking furries was where it started going downhill.
>>53622024Speaking of ur engines>eradin fahs still think they're relevant after the nerfsHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH-HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
Theocracy is the best faction. They have something to believe in and for, and are honestly trying to make the galaxy a better place, which is more then you can say about the fedoralords who rule the Wavachi.Fight me.
>>53622089Wavachi have snake-women with tits.Checkmate
>>53622116Wanting to fuck sneks is not an argument, try again.
>>53622116That got thrown out with the angry dick faction didn't it?
>>53622089>Morale fag>old fagThe theocracy was disbanded 3 editions agoLets all laugh at the autist
>>53622128Nah. They just have to wear shirts now.

Why can't these people just get with the times? Mendicants weren't good back then, and they sure as fuck aren't viable now.
>>53622130What are you smoking? They just conquered most of Wavachi's worlds.
>>53618918You know the whole point of doing this is just starting to talk about a fake setting like it was real WITHOUT announcing it.Fucking newfags.
>>53622149>using kweth lancersBro YOU need to get with the timesThat shit hasn't been in any relevant builds for ages
>>53622198Not true, they're actually useful in the new hellbats build. I mean that makes him cancer, but still
>>53622228No they aren'tThe lancers got replaced by the orbital ballistas after people realized that hell bats do the job just fine by themselves
>>53622198>Literally basing your opinions off /tg/Sorry that you don't understand that 3x Plasma Rending for a first round unit is never going to go out of fashion, pleb
>>53622263>lancers>replaced by orbital ballistas Nigga what?
>>53622198>>53622228>>53622263Bros, I know Chime of Irretrievable Anima is filled with cucks and WAAC faggots, but the new Kweth Lancer models from the upcoming Wavach Lunar Crusade campaign book are amazing. No way in hell are these things going to be useless, or even niche, with models this well done coming out soon. I know it's just new rules to sell new models, but fuck I'm sucker for these new sculpts.
>>53622194...dude kevalverse has been the biggest war game in the history of the hobby. Wait... oh shit you were role playing a Jin serum splicer weren't you? Fucking weird ass Jin players man, why do they draw out the weirdos?
>>53622386Man Makoto Kobayashi's designs are so fucking weird and cool
>>53618918>The Flame Incarnate is still guarding the afterlife.Just hurry the fuck up and start being plot relevant already.
>>53622477>>53622477The Flame of Black will never take his place and you know exactly why, his figures sell crazy well. If he was a crazy high point special character like all the Afterlife Guards he wouldn't be played in Skirmish and that's where the pro circuit is.
>>53622477>Last shard of the dead Flame God.>Stuck guarding some dead fucks.I hate this.
>>53622477They're never gonna move the plot forward. They'll just keep adding new factions until we stop buying them.Which we won't because they keep printing cool shit. Fuck I want to be mad about this
>>53622523>pro circuit>skirmishIt's fucking losers who try to play "pro" with such an unbalanced, and CLEARLY narratively focused, game, and the fucking suits who support this shit by trying to cash in with "skirmish" bullshit that is just DOTA with miniatures, that is ruining the game. Both John Hunt AND Jordan Schwartzman (and you know how much those two hate each other now) are on the record like every fucking year saying they hate that shit.Campaign books are cool, but they are just slop to tide over the narrative base of this game, and I'm not taking it any more. My friends and I just play 2.5 edition rules and fuck everyone else.
>>53622477>There's a mural of him in the leaked pics of the Human's splatbook. The fuck is this supposed to mean?
>>53621074You can get some pretty impressive shit done by overloading, I often use it to clear large groups off of the table.Just take Sagittarius pattern shields, yes i know the power cost doesn't make the added protection worthwhile normally but bear with me.Also take the Conestoga engines, they're big enough to count as added rear armor so you shouldn't have to worry about flanking fire as you reach the target, if you want you can spend any equipment slots you have left on point-defense, but that's up to you.now all you need to do for an easy win is just plough right on into the largest group you can find, and let the blast rules do the rest.Bonus points if they try to destroy your engines by starting a coolant leak, only serving to make the blast more volatileI've won too many games this way for it to not be addressed in the coming editions, but I'll keep going while it lasts.
>>53622628I like that they went with a subtle flame reference with his burned and twisted helmet, not the hurr-durrr-I'm-on-fire artwork they had in the past.Do you think that since there is no hi-tech armor, this is meant to be a mural from the Atavist Sect? I sided with them during the Thelavos Reformation global campaign in the early 2000s, but since they got smashed, that was the last I read about them. I loved their aesthetic, though, so I'm hoping this means they are coming back!I FUCKING HOPE it's not more Bishopess Path of the Naive Savant fuckery. (probably is though given the waifubait angle though)
>>53622917Dude of course it's going to be addressed. The Jin aren't supposed to be suicide bomber super robots! That's Scraphound territory--there's even a tread burner that does exactly that, but since its rules are so outdated, Jin-fags can tool up their armor collectives to be better kamikazes than the dedicated kamikaze units. Shit is unreal.
>>53622623I wish Skirmish was better tho. It's obvious someone really had a smart idea but you're right about the rules sucking for that type of game. I heard they're making two new factions just for Skirmish, only hero and villain pieces. The only troops that will be in the factions will be summonables.
>be me, the void between stars>Ancient cosmic embodiment of nothing and chaos beaten back by the ancient precursor empires>Slowly return after an eon of hiding beyond the border stars>The ancient ones have all died off and been succeeded by goat fucking degenerates>Aww yis time to chomp>Whole fucking plot arc gets put on hiatus so Jinfags can play with quantum entanglementJesus fucking Christ, the nullity is supposed to be a universal threat barely held in check by the border stars, but they can't even spare us an updated army list? Horrors haven't been updated in 2 editions and mind-worms are overpriced
>>53623164No argument here. There is a kernel of a good idea in the skirmish rules (and when I browse Shadow War for Armageddon threads, I can see how good skirmish rules play out), but it's a shame that they've been put to use in a garbage, casual, tournamentfag way.I've read the rumors about the two new factions, but I can't find any concrete details, just conflicting accounts. Are they totally new? Is there some butchering of the fluff to put all the factions into two sides?
>>53622927The Arabist sect really needs a remake and I hope if what you think is true they'll get it. The shields are still completely stupid rule wise. The "tower shields" don't count as shields high wise anymore and they do count as tank armor WHICH IS COOL but that means that human troops can't hold them. The best of squabbling rules for them make them unplayable. Except Court Knights. Court Knights are way OP in Skirmish.
>>53623333I just know that one of the next factions is going to be the Counter-EmpireNow that the copyright licences are being renegotiated, this could be the crossover of a lifetime.Or it could be shit.Just putting it out there.
>>53623378Atavist sorry! Am a phonefag
JIN FAGS GET OUT. SCRAPDOGS DON'T NEED YOUR KIND IN THE LEFTOVER
>>53623393I think they're gonna try and make factions from the books. The detective ones about the guy from Blackgate Hive. All policemen from there. I hope we get a full set of Executioner agents, I love the "Judge Dredd" style they have.
>>53623489Man, I hope they will not a get a Hounds, but I fear they will. Because Hounds are blatant furry fap bait, and if you like them and Lizzie, you are fucking furry and should die in hell. How and WHY Hounds got so fucking popular?!
>>53623505Remember the "Crawl out from the Fallout" April fools minis for Scrapdogs? Fuck man they're so expensive but I wanna have a full team of them! Even
>>53623546Tracking on all infantry units, rending claws act as free cc weapon, no movement penalties in difficult terrain. They're real good if you can get around the lack of vehicles.
>>53619266And add to that that it ended with Mad Dog alone, adrift on a shipthat was on fireand leakingIf that doesn't mean he's going to make a 'suprising' return than I don't know what will.
>>53623559Crawl out from under the fallout up in the great Left-Over, get some scrap for your tuckerbag and scram a jimbuck back home
>>53623607Their completely killed by Black Sky's faction only flyers tho. Especially in Skirmish and Modern, which are the only two game types anyone cares about. The have no way to get to flyers and since Black Sky has air docking you never need to land to get fuel.
>>53623639Rippers can attack adjacent fliers if they reserve a charge on the previous turn, and can charge from infiltrate with burrowing. Of course that doesn't do you much good against a whole army of gliders, but you can always take an ally detachment of scrapdog chaff walkers
> ITT butthurt Wavach and Scrapdogs players. Are you ready to be converted, heathen? The theocracy is coming for you.
>>53623733Preach it, brother.
Holy shit did anyone see the video they posted on their YouTube? They're gonna put Atavist Knights and Theocracy Zealots together in the new edition! And fucking Christ they're gonna be led by the Flame Incarnate! Do you think they're gonna change the faction to be mostly Hero/Villain pieces for Skirmish? They've been trying to change the game towards being more "Moba"-like for newcomers for years and taking the two biggest factions and making them Skirmish focused would do that.
>>53621511>>>53621468>I mean, it'll never be tournament legal, but 1000 point epic matches are super fun and could use some new tech.>I need an excuse to bust out my 1K Jin army again. That's retarded, you're retarded. We all know the game does not scale well at all outside of the standard tourney 250-350 range. Pandering to the high end games is highlighting the glaring flaws in the game design when you start throwing buckets of dice at everything. That being said. Bring back Scrap Hounds they're over costed to shit.
Remember when the Theocracy Free Knights weren't shit?I 'member.GOD, they were so good, before they TOOK AWAY THEIR FUCKING MOUNTED UNITS
>Jin-fags upset that no one wants to play at high enough point levels where their stupid army hits critical mass and just wipes the floor with everything because they can shit buckets of dice out.
>>53624075I still can't remember why they did that, anyways. What was the justification?
I love how you faggots are talking about this like The Fifth Unbecoming of Red Moons didn't reset the entire setting.
>>53624157>>53624131There your reason. I think they made Theocracy state horses were heretical.
>>53624025This is what everyone I saying. New rules will be the best we've had in years. Skirmish is where the game framework excels. It's no wonde they've been transitioning to smaller games with fewer more expensive models (both in points and actual dollars). And sure, theocracy can still throw down hordes of thralls at reasonable point values but they're not OP persay, just cheese. And for all the hell-bat haters it's still just one or two models, they can't be everywhere at once. If you play objectives you can easily outplay them. Especially with the expanded cover terrain rules that I hear are incoming with the new edition.
>>53624157Oh come the fuck onDidn't they essentially retcon that after the players bitched about it too much? The Revolt of Ollanius Gaius, anyone?
what fictional setting are you faggots on about?(serious question)
>>53624215Ruins of Kelva, what the fuck did you think?(I'm still salty about the changes they made in 3rd edition)
>>53624187Do you think they'll go back to first editions "special terrain"? I remember I had the Gattling Skeleton Bunker for the Atavist's old Skull Boys back before they made "Nexromancy" illegal lore-wise. I loved being able to just setup defensible on static weapons. Plus they had awesome looking structures.
>>53624210>>>53624157>Oh come the fuck on>Didn't they essentially retcon that after the players bitched about it too much?>The Revolt of Ollanius Gaius, anyone?Fluff creep is a real part of this game. If you can't except it I would say move on. Scrap Hounds I bet are getting Freeblade'd this next edition if they don't push more sales.
>>53621177Does NOBODY like the Jin?I just love their fluff. You know, the whole psychic/brain interface hivemind thing.Though my favorite thing has to be the Coremind system. Take one of those goofy, pudgy, gunnless tanks out somewhere safe, guard the shit out of it, spend a few rounds activating it, and BAM. All of your jin are tougher. Two focus coreminds and endurance coreminds are usually what people play, if you go with the Jin, but I recommend you throw in an ability boost like Pierce or Psion. Maybe even Detonate, if you have enough cheap guys like Initiates or Wasps.I have a place in my heart for my SUPER heavy coremind build. It up playing more like MTG slivers, with at least a dozen of them out there. Even better, you don't have to protect them nearly as much, since there's no way the enemy can shut all of them down before they activated. Throw in a few Data Shrines and sacc some of your infantry to them, and you'll start spawning enough data-echoes. And data-echoes get to KEEP THE COREMIND BOOSTS. It's outrageous. They might splatter if anything looks at them, but if you get enough Endurance Coreminds down you can make up for that with a literal army. And ignore the anti-Egale fags, the Egales aren't nearly as outrageous as people say. The Threac Egales are pure inorganics, meaning they don't get coreminds boosts, and they're fucked over by even the Scraphounds...And everyone knows the scraphounds are shit.
>>53624240Please not the Scrap Hounds, I love them so muchI don't want to go through that pain of what they did to my landschnekts a second time
>>53624210>Ollanius GaiusYou mean that feeble old heretic? God, I hate that character so much. >DURR LOOK A ME I AM A NON-BELIEVERThat's literally all he does. And don't EVEN bring up his work with the Library of the the Red Moons either, because that's just horseshit and you know it.
>>53624252But Theocracy Inquisition shuts down that playbuild stone cold, anon.
>>53624238>>>53624187 (You)>Do you think they'll go back to first editions "special terrain"? I remember I had the Gattling Skeleton Bunker for the Atavist's old Skull Boys back before they made "Nexromancy" illegal lore-wise. I loved being able to just setup defensible on static weapons. Plus they had awesome looking structures.I think fixed terrain will depend on the mission, like how the game is played in tourney is different than how I think it's meant to be played in 'beer and preztels' setting. That being said my last tourney we were bringing three lists each attacker/defender/meeting engagement. So having point value buildings could work in competitive play.
>>53624272But... he was such a good counterpoint to the Theocracy, coulda' made them great again.>>53624252>scraphounds are shitBull fucking horseshitYou even seen their Wheel Dawgs?
>>53624215Kelvaverse. Basically started out as a chain mail knockoff, now it's...well... kinda hard to describe. Normally I'd link to the wiki but it seems to be down right now.All you need to know is that pretty much everyone in setting hates the space lizards
>>53624308And with good reason, tooFuck those inbred scaly faggots
>>53624308>>53624319Well I do remember this one time a certain Mad Dog worked with the gay space lizards...
>>53624304>But... he was such a good counterpoint to the Theocracy, coulda' made them great again.I know, I know. Maye that's why I'm so bitter - he had such potential and they wasted him to make edgy atheists happy. Oh well, at least The Five Brothers are still there to keep the faith.
>>53624336>Mad Dog>not a real Scraphound.jpgFuck that weeb
>>53624304Wheel Dawgs are literally the most situational unit in the whole game. Yeah, in the steal the goblet mission they're gonna grab it and run off the table and give the scrap hound player a 4 point VP lead. But in every other mission they're gonna get shot off the table before they can do anything. The only thing the have is their retardedly high movement speed. Nothing but a situational gimic unit that not does a balanced army make.
>>53624277> standard theocracy strat> "hmm that looks fun"> *wrath of god orbital bombardment* > "now it's pure"Fuck theocracy
>>53620892>asking for scraphounds to be "playable"Just because they aren't competitive doesn't mean they aren't playable. Everdying hasn't had a new Compendium since Fourth Cycle. And it's not like they've been retconned out of existence *cough*Pentarchy of Qu Long*cough* -- they're still part of the lore and just got a new novel last year. But my Necromaster Vexarian list just sits on a shelf waiting for a current Compendium. At least I've had plenty of time to paint everything up with all the time I save by not playing the fucking game.
>>53624277Yeaaah...I'm not very good at the game, I just love my army anyway. Just because nobody plays coremind jin anymore. One time a Theocrat fucked over my build, so instead of trying to set down anything, I started ramming.Coreminds might not have weapons or be able to attack, but they are vehicles, so they can ram. And with them being size 6, I could smash some serious shit.I still lost. Spending all your points on coreminds and data shrines and barely anything on, you know, actual combat units tends to fuck things over.>>53624304That was a joke, anon. The wheel dawgs are pretty awesome. It's just that some of their rules seem there just to be annoying and contrary. Burn-out mechanics that don't even do anything? The weird hierarchy/nobility tree thing? What the hell.>>53624308>everyone hates the space lizardsFUCK YOU THE JIN ARE AWESOME.>>53624336It was never confirmed that Mad Dog was working with them. That was just a teaser from the dev on twitter. Probably going to be a big stupid 'reveal' thing. >>53624348True, FB are pretty great, especially if you field them with the Daughters of The Church>>53624352I used them in a battle against the Jin Overmind Coalition just fine, anonYou just gotta take advantage of their "Pack Hunter" trait more often.>>53624372I will admit that the heirarchy was bullshitThat's why I play Omegas most of the time, none of that bull
>>53624372>I wouldn't put it past the writers to have Mad Dog subverting one of the jin cloning tanks to make his own 'faction'.Now that you mention it,"The Mad Dogs" does sound like a good faction name. I wonder which of the Grand Houses they would play best alongside?

>>53624454>>53624444>>53624434>>53624432Yeah, you're probably right. You have to admit, it would be pretty hilarious, just rolling up to the table with an armful of Mad Dog figures and dropping them all over. Just stare at the other guy and say "I win."
>>53624411I get that that's bait. With the boner the writers have for Mad Dog? They'd probably be like the Outkast from 1st edition, before they got squatted. But seriously, fuck Mad Dog. Everyone hates him except for the writers and trolls like you.
>>53624468Ehh.... I kinda like the THOUGHT of what might happen, but I don't want it to actually happen, y'know?
>>53624444Learn to live with it. It's obviously what Nate Kincaid is building up the lore to. Guy writes one good book -- when Finch was still in charge and could rein in his worst shit -- and they put Kincaid in charge of all the story.

>>53624484Are you kidding? The casual fans love him. It's just people who actually care about the setting who get pissed at him fucking things up
>>53624527EhI sorta wish that they could have been bothered to add naval units into the core game, desuCombined battles were the main thing I loved about that spinoff
>>53624482What if you did, like, a hivemind thing like Deacon Yotam? So there was still only one Mad Dog? And like, drop the price of the Mad Dog figure by 50 or so, then let the standard drones be customized with a MD template?
>All these losers playing Kelvaverse when you could be playing MORP.I pity you.
>>53624484I could see him being a better character if they tied up his loose ends.Like, how in the fuck does he EVEN know about the Library of Red Moons? Isn't that shit meant to be known to only the Royals and The Teachers? >>53624628Oh, man, my buddy is a designer on another line, and he's helping test the LCG. I can't say much, but the mechanics for the Worldforgers are really cool, Mad Dog is fucking bonkers (and has the best art I've ever -- EVER -- seen for him, by a long shot), but there are some really fucked up lore inconsistencies.

>>53624746>Implying they are expecting their antiquated PEWTER models to sell massive numbers. They don't even look in the correct scale next to new mini's either they're getting a new launch with the upcoming edition or they're going the way of the Reyn Freeblades. >>53624700Scrapdogs are just a reason for more HFY fapfiction. The real conflict started with the Wavachi rogues and the Theocracy.Voidcrawlers are the entire reason the two cultures even met on bad terms. Wiping them out by Season 2 was the worst fucking thing for the game they could've done. Keeping them as an "environmental hazard" is just disrespectful to the game's roots. That being said, providing more rules and background to environmental budgets was a pretty dope addition.
>>53624791>Fuck, I thought I really needed to catch up on the new fluff, but is it really that bad? It's kind of a doviding thing in the community at the moment, if you were new in the last two editions it's all well and dandy to you for the most part but people who have played from the beginning tend to like the older fluff more. mechanically, the game is the best it's ever been.

You guys thing they are going to reform the Communicate Phase this next edition? >>53624997>Cyber DawgsHow the everliving FUCK did you get an army of Cyber Dawgs playable? You need at least THREE Tread Burners to make that viable against anyone.
>>53624993That was mostly omega's band (personally feel he's super underused in the current lore), but yeah that actually is what sets things into motion By "things" I mean the infamous civil war arc, but before that there was a really interesting period where we got a glimpse of what a scrap dog society would look like.Shame they just used it as an excuse to axe some of the better scrap dog units (seriously what were they thinking?)Spoilers point they might be going back in the right direction with the new edition though
>>53624990get a new loadout and all of a sudden you fucks are all over the place again>>53624991literally the best thing out the scrapdogs, with daphne in a close second, and only because he was the last sincere meme before the dev buyout

>>53625079WOLF PACK FUCK OMEGA
>>53625101FUCK YOU SAYOMEGAS ARE THE SHIT
>>53625022Yeah obviously with Tread Burner support was what I was talking about but I usually only play 2 in anything below the 350 mark. It's monobuild as fuck but the army just revolves around abusing the scout move mechanic so I get an extra move every turn essentially turning the game into move/shoot/move/communicate. If you lose a Comm-dawg out of one of your Cyber-dawg packs that whole bunch is essentially fucked because their C and C stat drops so low they'll never do what you want. God forbid you get jammed because then you're whole army is useless. If used correctly you can out pace even Jin and just kite everyone around the board. Not a replacement for a functional compendium however.
>>53624904Manifest Destiny? Dude, the first time the Theocracy went to space, they got shot down by what is the equivalent of a 40 pt hazard in the current season. The second time, they met Wavachi cruisers and got their shit corked for ten years before they could safely leave their own solar system.I don't think anyone sincerely expects the Theocracy to be anything but the big backdrop for the Bishopess' betrayal and joining with the Scrap Dogs (woof), and Mad Dog is going to fucking unite the Wavachi under a single insane banner, no matter what the traditionalists say. MD was written best under Gartner - this is NOT the same Dog.
Why are there so many Bishopess doujin and porn and shit? How did the nips get so invested in this? Hell, how did they even find it?
>>53625131I see your point, but the Cyber-Dawgs are just.... It's like they wanted to give us Wheel Dawgs that were less fragile, but their low range means they can't do jack dick.>>53625154They're always down for loli porn, anon.

I'm trying to look at some of the legacy factions like the knight houses, jin or wavachi. even though they're pre-civil war, if they're bringing back md, they're capable of doing anything, right? i've been looking at voidcrawler but they got nerfed and i'm not sure wavachi are going to make it past this season desu from an outsider's povtheo seem like they're going to be everywhere and i don't wanna get bored with my own units because i'm fighting against them all the time.
>>53625655RIP Wavachiboos>>53625663I think it's because the WAC don't have any mobility to speak of. SD are much better with that, and they have some decent heavy armor units as well.
>>53625620At least fill us in on the standardized lore.
>>53625610As a theofag, I think it has something to do with the fact all our heroes are either hot priestesses, or bara knights. And so we've got waifufags and gay guys sell heroes like crazy. It's like the Everdying Bloodlords until that shitty book series killed everyone's boner for the space vampires, since it was basically that one chick writing space vamp smut and calling it lore.
>>53625663Well I'm not gonna lie, Wavachi is still in a bit of a slump since they lost the us engine. Their armored units are really efficient, no ones denying that, but nothing's really replaced the engine yet.id say wait for theo's anti armor to get nerfed before trying anything though
>>53625689Ah man, Bloodlords were greatI loved their Resurrection gimmick, just plop a Rebirther down in the middle of a Peasant mob and go at it
All you plebs. I bet none of you play a Carnofear list. the fact that it hasn't been updated since 1.5e rends my heart
>>53625618>>>53625576 (You)>Ah you cheeky fuck. Can't blame you though, your faction is all about the skirmish.>How'd you get around their Holy Lancers?Honestly luck and incompetence on the part of my opponent I was a couple inches outside of their explosive Lance Range and the dude ran them right up the center of the table at one of my cyber-dawg packs and I shot EVERYTHING at them and they melted completely before they could get in range. Being able to double move really helped.
>>53625727Ah dude, my dad played Carnofears He got me into the game, actually.
>>53625727>I bet none of you play a Carnofear list.Probably because they're terrible in all regards. They're basically a bunch of space goblins.
>>53625727>All you plebs. I bet none of you play a Carnofear list. >the fact that it hasn't been updated since 1.5e rends my heartI pitty you. Your entire faction got Freeblade'd in one paragraph in the 4e Theocracy compendium.
>>53625708I always hope they bring Bloodlords back whenever they decide to release a new Everdying rulebook. Something about converting or ressurecting enemy units was extremely cool to play with or against, even if you were getting rolled.I still remember shitting bricks when the enemy Bloodlord general converted my Grand Paladin. I didn't know they could do that.
>>53625747...fuck I feel old nowFuck I still remember playing with martyrs, and those were in play about the same time. It's easy to forget how old this game is sometimes
Hey guys, I'm looking for a new way to burn a bit of my disposable income. Which faction is the cheapest to get started with?
So what the hell is up with Void-Minds? The fluff says they are god-like, but they are actual shit when it comes to crunch.
>>53625708The process took too long for too little payout >>53625670Wavachi have been maintained through bi-annual template updates on their website. They are not necessarily legacy. They've just stagnated in technology in canon so they can continue to sell a plenty diverse figureline and keep them canon.Voidcrawlers got shafted in the best kind of way. Whitescales didn't make any fucking sense mechanically in an army with a passive to ranged, and the fact their invisibility triggered as a defense was counter-intuitive to the stealth idea. Still, if you like tactical planking, fucking over the distance rules, and waving a tape measure like it's your dick on the opponent's end, then go for it.
>>53625790Jin, are the cheapest because of low model count. People will give you dirty look though because they're pretty much the best right now. Fucking teleporting gay ass cyber lizards.
>>53625772>mfw I had a Freeblade Grandmaster>Bloodlord General converts him>all the other shit I had was low ranking stuff>get slaughtered>>53625784F
>>53625812But I'm not a furry.Fine, what's the second cheapest faction?
>>53619158>>53619266Look at these fucking faggots who don't side with the Mad Dog of Tarkis.>turns a Nothing faction into a brutal dictatorship that gets shit done>wipes out dissidents who would canonically destroy the Scrap Hounds after the Sundering>dragged the Sons of Tarkis from almost pre-theocracy levels of tech forward 100 years.>Giant RobotsIt's almost like you Love to suck outcast pleb dick
>>53625798I think that's just the Dev team not playtesting their shit Their gimmicks SOUND good, but they're functionally useless>>53625827Theocrap, because they're all practically infantry
>>53625813There's a reason I still run clarity of mind on all my heroes to this very day. I know it's crappy in the current meta, but I still get the flashbacks of having my heroes all converted 1 by 1.Remember that bullshit ability the bloodwitch had where any hero she converted could then convert other heroes?
>>53625835>Mad Dog>dictatorshipI think you mean cult of personality, guy was a spaz, only way the thing was united was because they all wanted his dick>giant robotsI'd hardly call Lobots "giant", anon.
>>53625790Theocracy, Scrap Hounds or Wavachi. You can buy a lot of used Jin and pre-Civil War Houses in the aftermarket, but the new rules are really not supportive of the figures you'll find.Voidwalker if you want to drop a couple fifties in the process of getting people to point and laugh but wipe their brows when you're not looking.
>>53625835I think you're mixing up omega and Maas dog there bud
>>53625835>wipes out dissidents who would canonically destroy the Scrap Hounds after the SunderingThat was the shit 3e version of it, get with the times. Nobody liked that bit anyway.
>>53625827Theocrap but beware they're only cheap if you get the snap together kits, they're OKAY looking but it's a spam army so be prepared to have like 30-40 of the same 5 sculpts of Thralls.
So where is Fatanvious Drelken? >inb4 "he a gud boi now. He ruhpent in da cherch!">inb4 Dokalir x Theocrap alliance
>>53625727>CarnofearOh god, yes. I was considering making an updated version of their rules so we can actually, you know, play them. I was considering taking their zombified critters like the Tear-a-sorz or the blimplings and statting them up as vehicles. Then we don't have to deal with their 'mount critters' siderules and the stupid dice rolling to see if they 'fall off', and as a bonus, they get ram speeds, the ability to be repaired/looted by the Scraphounds, etc. It'll take a while, but it's coming along.>>53625812>teleportingTeleporting is the worst way to play Jin.I still hate when people go with the Warpstar Lattice obelisk instead of the Coremind Obelisk. Yeah, you can be anywhere, but there's just no fun in it.>>53625827No dude, the jin are awesome. If need be you can just slap some Theocracy helmets on their necks and call them 'humaniform jin'. There's a comment about humanified ones in one of the books from like 95', so it's good from a fluff perspective.>>53625838>>53625798It's implied that the Void-Minds we're actually using are the weaker ones, since the big ones can't actually leave the Void.
>>53625838>>53625867>>53625882Alright then, Deus Vult it is. Any recommendations for builds?
We hit the bump limit...should we make this a general?
>>53625856Snow Balling bullshit that got banned from every tourney?I think I played against it ONCE. In the dregs known as 3e, 3.5 was much better.
>>53625835You forgot the part where his dumb ass caused a split timeline and potentially fucked over the rest of the universe.
>>53625905New Carnofear rules? Hallelujah!>>53625913Don't buy their nonsense about Theospam, it's not very good. Their more elite options are to die for, though.>>53625919 No. Generals are cancer.
>>53625919Yes anon, do you even need to fucking ask.>>53625913Thrall spam with a few supporting heros added to flavor and like one blob of holy lancers.
>>53625919Yes, will add next thread when this one dies.
>>53625899FuUUUUUUUUCK, don't even get me started on the pussification of Fantavious>>53625905Huh, never thought about it that way>>53625913Heavy Infantry or Zealot spam. Only way it'll work without a Clergyman
>>53625835What are you talking about. Mad Dog literally RUINED the ENTIRE Scrap Hounds ALONE over the course of THREE MONTHS.EIGHT WAR BANDS DID NOT STOP THE MAD DOGGWOOF WOOF MOTHERFUCKER
>>53625882As a Theofag, you gotta remember to get lots of heroes. They're where the army gets fun. They turn your crusading peasants into unbreakable death machines, and give you a ton of oomph.Plus unlike the mobs of peasants they're really customizeable, I have 3 Grand Paladins and 2 Great Priestesses, each looks unique.Oh, and make sure to add more elite units like guardian crusaders and holy guard to the mix. Peasant spam alone is a shitty tactic, don't let the junkdogs lead you astray.
>>53625919I'd be down.Maybe someone should start recording the unified lore that we have so far?
>>53625956He's def thinking of Omega I think.Obligatory fuck Omega
>>53625905>there's no fun in itYeah, because it's so unfair. You have three of these super-powered Lizard-bots teleporting next to a unit and wiping them out because their weapons scale with range leading to BUCKETS of dice. We all know that if you throw enough dice at any problem it goes away and Jin excel at that, which is why they get so broken at higher point levels. That and telepathy means you AUTOMATICALLY pass Comm Checks so you basically circumvent an entire phase of the game.
>>53625947>>53625968No, this is a horrible idea.
>>53625968Yeah definitely good idea. We could turn it into a little banner to help newbies get into the game
>>53625968I guess another question is do we roll with what we have or just say fuck it and create something new with each thread? Either one would be fun.
>>53625986Yeah, fuck that dude, fuck his 'disbanding' of the Wolfpack, and fuck Mad Dog for even starting that whole shit
>>53625939>No. Generals are cancer.Kind of agree.Last time we had this the general we had later would move like molasses and only like 4 dudes stuck around which was a shame because I liked it.
>>53625921There was this one Goth chick who played Bloodlords, her army was literally just a general and like 10 blood witches with some trash units for padding.I'll give her credit, she embraced the gimmick so hard it wasn't even broken any more.
>>53626006I'd like creating a new setting every thread, but I'd also like the unified lore. Maybe do both? A random shittery thread and something to expand on this?
>>53626007>Wolfpack breaks up>no more Wolfpack rulesMad Dog was so shit for the SD that he made their army boarderline unplayable in the fucking tabletop.
Looked at the new environment hazards and I'm literally fucking dying. What is to stop me from bringing 300 pts worth of Godzillas and Scrap Hound Skirters to outrun the carnage.Attrition Victories are going to be the new standard until we hit a 2 - 10 figure format where we get charged three stacks per, you fuckin watch.
>>53626006Idk, but we definitely need to record the results of every iteration. I'm leaning towards new setting every time. Could be a cool way to explore ideas
>>53626029I'm with you there. We should save what we've done here and expand on it.
>>53626030>mfw the Wolfpack comes back in the next edition because fans bitch about itJust you watch.>>53626031>What is to stop me from bringing 300 pts worth of Godzillas and Scrap Hound Skirters to outrun the carnage. The fact that Godzillas take up the entire play area? Fuck, dude, things are hugeIf you have the money to buy 300 pts worth of Godzillas and Skirters, I envy you.
>>53626031Attrition is only viable against high-model count armies. When you run up against the 3 unstoppable Jin just hitting delete on a unit every turn trying to play attrition will fuck you. You have to have to have to play the objectives to win consistently.
>>53626029What about a collection of the lore from each thread? That way, if people want to expand on it they can have a base to build off of. Shouldn't be too hard to do with the archive.
>>53626031>>53626031That reminds me of this old custom game mode me and a few folks at our FLGS. We called it 'apocalypse', and we'd get a few hundred points to spend solely on environment hazards. Eventually it got to the point where we'd also make a hat, and pull a random 500-point list of environmental hazards out to throw into the game unaligned. The winner was the one who survived the longest.Sadly, I was (and still am) a jinfag, and since half our army is based around stationary buildings (and the other half being teleporting assholes) my Warpstar would get trashed by something and then I'd be stuck.
Goddamn it, I just want to play my Mauluscs and Crazefears again. Pls bring back carnofears
>>53626053>>53626072Sounds good. Maybe we could do a pastebin or something?
>>53626031do you happen to have the scan for tcr
>>53626092As long as we work quickly. This'll be annoying to dig out of the archive
>>53626092Yeah, that'd work. Someone with the know-how could probably handle it with relative ease. Hell, in a month or so we'll have so many settings to choose from for campaigns and storytime...it'll be great!
>>53626116>>53626137You want to do it or should I?
>>53626139Could you? That'd be super cool
>>53626180AlrightShould I do a brief overview of the thread or should I just put links?
>>53626219Both? Up to you man
Tell me /tg/, how does one mindbreak an antediluvian witch of the heartstarved moon as a schizophrenic Durth' querrel peasant without being eviscerated?
