You don’t recall your name, you can’t even recall who you are. The city hums and bustles even late into the evening. Artificial lights and the light of the moon illuminate the night, making it easy to see. The scents threaten to overwhelm you though, you can smell everything. The moisture from the previous day’s light rain, the smell of the soil. The air is a bit foul, with the taint of chemical and oil pervasive throughout. You can smell the squalor in which small, wretched things make their home. Blood, the scent of blood is pervasive, it seeps through all of the other smells. It’s quite intoxicating, and frankly very…. Seductive. The thrumming of hearts beating starts to drone, and cover up the other noises. They’re still there of course, but you can’t bring yourself to care. You fall to the ground, using all four limbs to lope and creep across the ground. You’re starting to get hungry, the slaver that’s usually contained by your jowls is starting to drip to the ground. The hunger you feel driving you onwards, you leap through the city. Your nose is directing you to several potential feasts, but which to go to? >The scent is ethereal and strange, but the beings near it still have a heartbeat. >The scent is tinged by blood and sweat. >The scent is earthy, smelling of loam and soil. >The scent is foul, but is preceded by many heart

Gonna leave this open for a bit longer. Let some more people filter in. Don't worry we'll be getting to Amy
You follow the earthy scent, it’s strange…. Well earthy aroma entices you. It leads you further into the city than you’ve dared travel, but the loud, wet thudding of a massive heart appeals to you. The smell ends near a vacant lot surrounded by massive buildings. You keep to the shadows, the thing with the loud heartbeat is hidden, and you know not where it is. That’s somewhat troubling you’ll have to admit, the hunger pains you’re wracked with are growing increasingly uncomfortable. Ah! There it is. A large figure starts to emerge from the ground its size is quite formidable, but you don’t think it’s noticed you yet. >Attack! While surprise and stealth work in your favor. >Be cautious, you don’t know how powerful it actually is. >Flee, flee and follow another scent.
>>47763445>Be cautious, you don’t know how powerful it actually is.

You keep still, the shadows concealing your presence as the large figure begins to crawl out of a hole that didn’t exist previously. How does that even? Nevermind, it doesn’t matter. It begins stretching and then it starts… Sniffing. You can see its large and protruding nose even from the gloom of the shadows. “Wot’s this then?” It rumbles. “I smell somethin’ foul. Whatever you are, come out or leave. I don’t care which, but be warned I ain’t frightened by you.” Despite its attempt at intimidation the only thing you feel is hunger. You have little doubt you could bring this thing down… But at what cost to yourself? If you get too severely injured you’d die from hunger before you healed… >Attack, it knows that you’re here, but not where you are exactly. >Flee, it’s too much trouble. Weaker prey is just as satisfying.
>>47764303>>Flee, it’s too much trouble. Weaker prey is just as satisfying.
>>47764303>Flee, it’s too much trouble. Weaker prey is just as satisfying.
Tsk. Your cover has been blown, so you do the intelligent thing and flee the scene. As you leap away through the shadows you feel the large figure’s gaze linger on your retreating form. You get the sinking suspicion that fight wouldn’t have been as easy as you initially believed. You retreat back into some of the outer parts of the city, the same prevalent scents from before are still present, along with a newer one. Decisions decisions >The scent is ethereal and strange, but the beings near it still have a heartbeat. >The scent is tinged by blood and sweat. >The scent is… electrifying >The scent is foul, but is preceded by many heartbeats.
>>47764521>The scent is tinged by blood and sweat. Most likely to be Amy.
>>47764521>The scent is tinged by blood and sweat.>>47764562I suspect the strange and ethereal one of that more, because void, with the heartbeats being Yuki and Hime-sama.
>>47764521>>The scent is tinged by blood and sweat.
You follow the scent of blood and sweat. There are more heartbeats in this direction, but they’re nowhere near as large. Slinking as fast as you can through the shadow you make your way across the city again, but luckily it’s closer this time. You arrive on the scene of what appears to be some sort of trial pit. Large, greenish figures are fighting with their bare hands, while others hoot and holler. It’s quite strange, violence for the sake of violence maybe? They don’t appear to be eating the beaten. Indeed, they losers appear to join the watchers when they’re done. The area is bathed in artificial lights, but the shadows surrounding the area are immensely deep. Excellent You creep ever closer to the din, the greenthings oblivious to your presence. So many different to pick from, and all the time in the world to choose. >Pick off a straggler on the fringe of the throng. >Swipe one of the larger ones that are closer. >Observe and see if an opportunity presents itself.

You decide, well your stomach decides, to pick off one of the slightly smaller and already damaged greenthings on the side of din. You creep closer, and closer until you’re only a few yards away. Your muscles tense with coiled energy. Then you LEAP! Mouth agape, and the world tinges over red… ----- Your name is Amy Nakamura, a 17 year old void Oni, and holyshit what the actual fuck was that dream? You look around and see that you really haven’t even woken up. The familiar emptiness of the Void greets you like an old friend. It’s soothing in a way. Whatever that dream was, was far too real for you to handle. You can still taste blood on your tongue. >Focus, use the void. Attain clarity. >Nope not right now, wake up. >Write-in?Sorry about that wait. I was distracted by a phone call
>>47765444>Focus, use the void. Attain clarity.
No, bad Amy. Calm yourself. You enter the void without the breathing exercises this time, mostly because you’re already in the Void. The inner peace you feel here is the same as usual, but you’re having difficulty shaking off that dream. You’ve never really felt anything that real before in your sleep. When you open your eyes again you’re not alone in the void anymore. Your “Grandmother” is there and she’s drinking shochu out of a huge gourd. “Yo, so I guess you saw that weirdness too. I was wondering why I could show up here again.” “You typically can’t just, I dunno, show up?” “I wish…” She grumbles. She takes another swig of alcohol and tosses the gourd at you. You catch it and take a large swig of it. Damn it’s sweet. >What was that? >Did you have something to do with that? >….Is the person actually dead? >write-in?
>>47766001>What was that? >Did you have something to do with that?
Sorry, forgot to say writing. I have been for like 5 minutes.
“What WAS that?” You ask her as you toss the liquor back. “Well that wasn’t anything to do with me, my gimmick was seeing my own future. I think it was the Void trying to tell you something. Void Oni get weird visions and dreams from time to time, it’s part of what you are.” “You weren’t a void Oni?” “Fire actually, my first husband was a void though. Before you ask, no, the elements aren’t genetic.” “So you’re saying you had nothing to do with that whole scene? At all?” “Damn straight kid,” She replies as she gulps down more shochu “That weirdness was all you.” “Why would it happen now?” “Who knows? Maybe it will affect your Bond somehow.” She tells you as she rubs an old rusted chain around her neck. >So, you saw all of it too right? What was that thing? >Alrighty, thanks for everything. >Write-in?
>>47766488>So, you saw all of it too right? What was that thing?
“So you saw it all too right? What was that thing?” She just shrugs in response. “I dunno kid, but whatever it was it was mean and smart. You felt how it thought right? That cold logic and hunger behind all of its movements… If we were back on the island the only thing it could be would be a Youkai, but here? It could have been anything, whiteman’s monster or a redman’s monster. Who knows?” “I… I think it was human once, it felt human, kind of. Like it had a shred of itself back in the corner of its mind.” “That’s…. Troubling to say the least.” >Do you think we’ll have to worry about it? >Alrighty, thanks for everything gran. >Write-in?
>>47766820>>Write-in?"What would you do to hunt something like that?"
>>47766820>How would you hunt something like that?
I like where these questions are going. Writing.
>>47766971Gotta protect our lord.
“How would you… Hunt something like that monster?” You ask the spectral form of your many greats, dead grandmother. In response she gives you a feral grin. “If it was me I’d burn it to ash, no muss no fuss. But that might be more difficult for you. Now that you have my gift, you could always try to scry for it. Or you could use your Lord’s resources she has available at her disposal. All of these are valid ways to hunt a feral beast.” She pauses for a moment as she drinks some more alcohol from the gourd. “Why do you think it’s your responsibility though child? Your duty is to your lord, not to hunting down monsters in the night.” >What say?
>>47767157>>What say? It's a threat to my lord. I want to be proactive about protecting her.
>>47767157>"If the Void gave me that vision, there was probably a reason. I'm willing to bet that it's because it would hurt Hime-sama in the future, either directly or indirectly. And if I'm wrong, at least it's one less thing preying on people in the dark."
Writing. I love it when you guys do great write-ins!
Also, real quick, I don't have work tomorrow but i also don't want to keep people up too long. You guys willing to go for a while still?
>>47767371I'll probably be up for the next six hours regardless, so I'm fine.If others would rather sleep, I'm fine with that too, as long as we at least reach Trish teasing Amy and Yuki after taking a picture of the two of them sleeping.
>>47767371Just got up and willing to go.
"If the Void gave me that vision, there was probably a reason. I'm willing to bet that it's because it would hurt Hime-sama in the future, either directly or indirectly. And if I'm wrong, at least it's one less thing preying on people in the dark." You tell your spectral ancestor. She stops drinking and gets a quizzical look on her face. She tosses you the gourd again and starts to rub her chin in thought. You take another draught from the gourd, fuck that’s strong stuff. “That’s truly commendable Amy. Hmmm, you remind me of my second husband. Always so brave and willing to protect his lord… bah, you don’t want to listen to an old woman ramble about her past. Anyway, you have stuff to do today I think, you’d better get to it. As much as it feels like time doesn’t pass in here, it still does.” You toss her the gourd back and watch her vanish into spectral flame. You catch her smile as she disappears. You wake up on the floor with a familiar set of blonde ears flicking next to your face. Your cousin hasn’t moved all night apparently, shit is your tit numb as hell. >Remove her gently and go get cleaned up. >Remove her and go get cleaned up >Write-in?
>>47767641>Tickle her awake, REVENGE AT LAST MUHAAHAHAHAHAAHA!
>>47767641>Pet her for a bit, if that doesn't wake her up, tickle attack.
You guys are goofy, writing.
>>47767729Amy is goofy with her friends, Like most people.
You caress the top of your cousin’s admittedly fluffy head in an attempt to wake her up, the only thing that happens is that she cranes her head into your head for more coverage. Alrighty that’s not going to work. You place both of your hands along her side and begin to tickle her viciously. She doesn’t react at first, but then ears and tail start going crazy. Then she bursts out laughing, huge belly laughs. You wish Trish was this ticklish… Sitting up with your giggling cousin you manage to get her awake and off of you. You stretch, easing out all of the soreness you’ve accumulated over the night. You crane your head about the room looking for Trish… She’s not in her bed… Ah fuck… You see her familiarly tiny form standing in the doorway with her phone out, pointed at the both of you. She probably just recorded all of that…. She grins a very, very smug grin. Shit
And that's it! Thanks everybody. The archive and my twitter are in the second post of the thread. I'll be here for a bit to answer questions and stuff. Next thread will probably be friday.
