Black Tides Quest ****So far in life, you've had good days. Yesterday was not one of them. After six days of lounging your ass off on a cruise ship, the zombie apocalypse that had been breaking out in major cities (and a large part of why you decided a cruise was a good idea) decided that your ship was a wonderful place to break out. Four hours of Half Life 2: Shitty Beach Chair Edition, and you had managed to batter, brain, and butcher the zombie cruise goers into a pulp that had tried to get between you and the lifebot deck. After stealing one and turning one of the many, many bars on the ship into a Helsinki Breadbasket, you launched off the side of the ship with a smile and a wave. Now you were loose on the open sea, the old cruise ship had been burning, and you were fairly certain that rescue was a forgone conclusion. That left only one recourse. Piracy on the open seas, in the midst of a zombie apocalypse that was driving civilization to it's knees.Somewhere deep inside your soul, you plan on having fun with this.>ARE YOU A > Boy > Girl>YOUR CAREER?> Mechanic (Bonuses to Talent, Salvage, Repair)> Cop (Bonuses to Melee Combat, Ranged Combat, Command)> Ferryman (Bonuses to Navigation, Seamanship, and Fellowship)(This is going to be mostly running off a homebrrew RPG system I've built and am transferring to digital. >>46188971Wanted to go ferryman but making any vote a multi-split is just a dick move, and the other options are still nice.
>>46187796> Boy> Mechanic (Bonuses to Talent, Salvage, Repair)
>>46189543Maybe he's writing it?I hope so.
>>46189561We were off to a decent start, I'll be sad if he cuts it here.
Well this quest seems fairly dead.
Should we post boats while we wait for op will the hms victory sail again?
>>46189752If only i wasn't on mobile i have many boat pictures to inspire op. Keep going anon you are doing Neptune's work.
This could be our future QM, but you're not playin'
>>46187796>> Boy> Mechanic (Bonuses to Talent, Salvage, Repair)
God damn these fine ships are making me hard
Holy shit I forgot how /tg/ time worksAlso, if not deciding vote, then going with Mechanic because you're going to HATE the starting boat.
>>46190014>>46190008Easy there, buddy. Save it for the game. ;)>>46190020Guns and glory!
Well shit. Going cop thenWRITING
>>46190057We're in business!
>>46190119The boats inspired op good job all.
>Boy> Cop (Bonuses to Melee Combat, Ranged Combat, Command)It was a rather short decision to get moving for you- once the whole "rescue" option was taken out of the game, that meant you needed to get to a-vikinging yourself, pronto. Which apparently meant sit on your ass for a week. Surprise surprise, the luxury lifeboat has NO FUCKING ENGINES. You started life out as a mechanic's kid, so this bone-numbing decision hurts you physicly on a number of levels. Still, you're game, and so you then start to do the next bet thing, which is grab oars and get to all the other lonely lifeboats and scavenge them for supplies and people. This lasted for all of about a day when you realized that Joe Schmoe was about as genre-savvy as a boot Marine who had forgotten to read his Heinlien, and as such didn't immidiantly scram for the lifeboats when the auto-launched. Thankfully, though, on the eighth day you saw a boat on the horizon. On the fourteenth day, you reached it. God DAMN, were these cruise ship lifeboats designed to just fucking sit till and wait patiently for Coasties? Either way, you managed to scramble of the side of the ship, and smile. In a fit of divine comedy, that smile alerted a malnourished zombie that there were customers on deck. And you still had no crowbar.**** >FIGHT >FIND ITEM>RUNCharacter sheet under construction, will be pastebin'd shortly.
>>46190262>RunI ain't fighting without a crowbar
>>46190262>>FIND ITEMUnless we know weird fighting style where we don't get bitten, it would be crazy to fight unarm
>>46190262Find a nice narrow spot and lure them in one by one and kill them, head shots and think of boats.
>>46190378With what? You currently have exactly one pair of pants, and that's it!
>>46190401We can make noise quiet enough so only one or two hear us.
>>46190401Actually, something the character knows but we haven't been told yet:Are these zombies shamblers, walkers, or runners? Are they able to operate doors?
>>46190465>Zombies can open doors
>>46190478Depends entirely on the type of zombie, so we should really find out, instead of running on assumptions.I mean, what if these are the rare ones that can also wield weapons?Or the L4D types that have special abilities?
>>46190465They shamble until they are alerted, at which point the "run" at about 4mph.>>46190539No weaps, no doors, abilities V. Rare. Other questions?
>>46190595Will they die only to headshots, or just massive trauma to the body?
>>46190745Body trauma kills everything. Unless you decide to go the Dr. Facilier route, in which case, well...Don't you dare piss off your friends on the other side.
>>46190793Is fire a good zombie killer or do we end up with flaming zombies that can still very much kill us?
>>46190262>FIND ITEMfind a fuckin crowbar I quess
Hallelujah, a deciding vote! > Main Character looks for useful shit! Roll 2d20, taking best of three!

>>46191195And nevermind! Writing!
>Roll: 30Scrambling around, you see the zombie crawling towards you with fire in it's acursed eyes, wishing to eat you amd your brains...Waitaminute. It was crawling. On four- no, make that three limbs. Scrabling aroumd, you found a bigass handle for something, some rope, and some four-pound weights. After applying a little Boy Scout injuity to the problem, you proceded to apply your makeshift flail to the zombie's everything. One theraputic beatimg later, you proceded to scrape the now-dead corpse-y thing off the deck and into the drink. Muttering a brief prayer for the poor bastard to sink deep amd not draw the shark from Jaws, you went around the rest of the boat. Small cabin, small forward engine compartment, "flying" bridge, small aft and fore decks. What a piece of junk. Dear god, it even smelled like herring! Shaking your head, you just sat on a crate and sighed. Descions time...***> Take inventory of all the everythings.> Make sure the damn hole-in-the-water runs so you don't need to sail of all things.> Clean house, because aparently zombies take shits and arn't toliet trained.
>>46191218>It might become best of four if Anon rolls another below-tenDon't alter or adjust to accommodate. Takes the fun out when DM fiats you out of bad situations/rolls.
>>46191534>Take inventory of all the everythings
>>46191534WahhWhat kind of moron doesn't loot the body? The zed could have had something important like keys
>>46191534>> Clean house, because aparently zombies take shits and arn't toliet trained.Does this mean literally clean up, or are we searching for more zombies to clear the boat out?
>>46191543... I really hope you have the same atitude when a Kate-zombie does it's thing and you fail the grapple check to prevent bite...>>46191616It was naked, in MC's defence. Also, we need a name for the MC. Suggestions?

Alright, if you want a Middle Eastern name, just make sure it's not Bagdahd Bob or something terribly offencive for the Burgerlander QM to miss, and we can use it. Now, I gotta write here.
>>46190843Yes they're a good zombie killer or Yes it'll just end with flaming zombies moving to kill us?

Sitting down, you stopped to take a breath and let the adrenalyne high wear off. Breath in, breathe out. Breath in-OH SWEET MERCIFUL HEAVY METAL JESUS FUCKING MARY MAGDALINE IN THE INN, WHAT ON GOD'S ZOMBIE-INFESTED EARTH WAS THAT STENCH!?After promptly gagging, you tried to pick apart the odur de retch. It was not fun- there was human shit, zombie slime, food waste, fish, more shit, dead seagull the zombie had been snacking on, rotten fruit, and general boat smells. Grabbing a five gallon bucket, you gritted your teeth and got ready to do the thing you hated most. Cleaning. The start was with washing off all the shit by dumping water and then ramming it off with a crusty old mop. Next came the ooze and goo the zombie had donated when you splattered him, followed by another run to get the caked-on shit out. That stuff had formed goddammmned layers, geologic in scale. Afterwords, a wash down of the fishing deck and removal of all the bad food ws acomplished, you got into the cabin. The half-dead previous resident hadn't liked it here very much, aparently, as there was less shit-staim to remove. The matress on the bed, however, was fucked. Once you had things cleaned (read, stripped to sheet metal and scrubbed, you started getting ready for what you needed to do next. There was a lot of things on the list- one would come to you.***> Write-in
>>46192299Take bedsheets and make a makeshift net held in place by a line with them, so that we can fish while doing other things.
>>46192299Take inventory of everything on board. You can usually find emergency supplies on a lifeboat unless someone's nicked it all. Bandages, radio receiver, flare gun, solar still..
>>46192299Inventory, then take a look at a maritime map or something to see where the closest land is. Try the radio at the same time.
>>46192299Find something to bash skulls with.
Alright guys, this is it for tonight. Thamks for coming, I'll be collecting write-ins for next time. Also, if someone could archive this, it'd be wonderful, 'cause my spelling's going to shit now. See you next time,.probably Friday, definetly next Tuesday.
