Running a short quest based off anons' suggestions, so I can practice writing. I'll take just about anything within reason.
>>46123011Let's make something classic. A pious knight on a quest to save a princess/fair maiden from a Dragon.
>>46123116Sounds good, I'll give other people a chance to suggest stuff before I start.
>>46123403First vote will probably be a vote for type of knight, assuming nothing else gets suggested.
Giving it a bit more time and then we go for knight quest if nobody else votes for something else.
>>46123116This, except the dragon is actually a physical manifestation of the knight's fear of his latent homosexuality.
>>46123637What exactly did you have in mind for that?
>>46123716What if the saving the dragon quest is all in his head because he has been in a coma for the better part of a decade? What if, after slaying the dragon, he awakes with renewed confidence and fully accepting his own sexuality? Then we go on a quest to save a gay prince from a tribe of amazon musclegirls.
>>46123637That's not how the Dragon works as a Jungian archetype, anon. He'd be either a representation of the old fears of mankind, predators and things like that, perhaps a phobia of some sort, or a representation of the challenges the person needs to surpass, and the slaying of the Dragon represents the person's capacity to overcome said challenges.Another idea, the Princess is a rebellious Action Princess and the Dragon is her friend who only kidnapped her so she could leave the castle and live a life of adventure. Misundertandings happen along the way.
>>46123755>Decade long coma without modern medicine.
>>46123887Magic? You know like Snow White and shit?
>>46123921I could have some fun with that.
>>46123921>Pious knight of the Lord.>Let's someone use witchcraft on him to unnaturally prolong his lifespan instead of allowing Death to take him so he can go to Heaven at the time God decided for him.
>>46123116How about a quixotic knight? Pious for sure, but he ain't actually a knight in any way, he's just gonna save a fair maiden from the dragon because that's what knights would do.
Ok voting time Knight saves princess Gay knight saves prince Some guy saves princess Unless anyone has any objections.
>>46124092I like that.
>>46124151>[X] Some guy saves princess
>>46124151> Knight saves princessYou can't beat the classics.
[X] Gay knight saves prince
Obligatory muh lady knight commentIn all seriousness, knight rescuing a princess from a dragon sounds pretty good.Make the dragon an essential part of the local fauna, and extend that the problems with predators smaller than the dragon will arise if the knight slays it, and they learn this along the way.
>>46124197>You can't beat the classics. That is some god damn quitter talk.
>>46124151>[x] Gay knight saves prince
>>46124265>Obligatory muh lady knight commentI'd have no objection to this.
>>46124277You can't beat the classics. If you do, you become a classic yourself.
>>46124354Can't be modern and a classic.
Oh I feel I should point out, I won't be rolling dice unless you do something completely random chance like roulette or rolling dice.
>>46124151> Knight saves princessLet's do this!
>>46124375Sure you can, modern classics are a thing they just need a few years to officially gain he title. War and Peace was once a brand new release, but now it's a classic. Same with The Great Gatsby.Surpass a classic and sooner or later you become a classic yourself.
Ok calling it for knight saving princess.> Coma> No coma
>>46124560> No coma
>>46124151If opposition to make knight lady knight does not arise, can such happen?
>>46124603I'll make it a vote in a little bit.In a completely unrelated note, what kind of text would you guys want to distinguish a voice in your head? I'd just to that spooky squiggly stuff but I plan on doing it too frequently for that.
>>46124672Greentext it. Not like 4chan has many options. I don't think you can use Italics or bold text here.
>>46124766I was considering putting () around it or all caps.
>>46124792All Caps doesn't work well for voices inside your head, but I guess parenthesis works.
Oh and calling it for no coma.>Lady Knight>Male Knight
>>46124833>Lady Knightmuh dic
>>46124833I have no real opinion here.
>>46124833>[x]Lady KnightWould make for fun little detail. Just make her really complacent with that fact, as if everyone would be surprised over it but she isn't.No surprises or much glamour about it. Just a Lady Knight.
>>46125013Hmm. Yeah, that'd be cool. You convinced me. >[x]Lady Knight
>>46125013I wasn't planning on making a big deal out of it.
lady knights gonna be a good time
>>46125108All the better. Any further detail for vote? On the general setting, a detail on the dragon for extra flavour, weaponry, squire, not so common mount?
>>46125233>squireA young boy in his early teens you saved from starvation>not so common mountYour squire
>>46125233he could have a bald squire
Ok futuristic setting or fantasy settingI swear to god I had the perfect pic for a lady knight saved just a few days ago and I can't fucking find it.
>>46125379Define 'futuristic'. You mean cyberpunk, space opera or what?
>>46125379I wanted to go for Fantasy, honestly.
>>46125461I was going to do sorta fallout but no apocalypse/shadowrun ish (based off the opinion of some guy who doesn't actually know shadowrun that well)
>>46125379Futuristic could be interesting.
>>46125536>Fallout but no apocalypseSo 1950s American culture?
>>46125650By that I meant tech level, so stuff like AKs would be common but you still could have power armored knights with railguns. I kinda hope that will lose cause its getting a bit too close to the actual quest I have plans for.
i think fantasy won
bump cause i like the way the post was goin
>>46125759Yeah my bad I miss counted it as a tie.>Light armor>Heavy Armor
>>46125894>Heavy ArmorLet's go FULL KNIGHT. We never get to go FULL KNIGHT.
>>46125894>HEAVY ARMORA LIVING SHIELD
>>46125894Chainmail with plates...so I guess heavy?
Ok Calling it for Heavy armor.> Spear/lance as main weapon with short sword, shield in off hand.> Standard old sword and shield.> Bastard sword.> Warhammer
>>46126124since it's futuristic i think it would be made of morefuturistic materials
>>46126155> Spear/lance as main weapon with short sword, shield in off hand.
>>46126155>[x] Bastard sword.Because god damn I fucking love seeing knights like that, even if that won't be the winner
Oh and just throw out names, need to get to actually writing this even if I intend to run for a LONG time or until you die, and even than might just run another thing.
>>46126155>[x] Bastard sword.
>>46126423>First vote is my dog's name
>>46126490Thought it was a pretty name. Could be shortned to Bella, which she doesn't particularly like and frowns upon, and eventually threatens with physical violence upon too much of it
>>46126191>>46126368Just an fyi, your looking at something like this and not Guts' dragonslayer.
>>46126363Lady Evelynn D'acre.Surname subject to change, pending suggestions.
>>46126550I am fine with it and all, just surprised.
>>46126554yea no shit
>>46126607Just didn't want to do any bait and switch bullshit.
>>46126155>[x] Standard old sword and shield>>46126363haestein
Ok calling it for bastard sword.> Isabella> Josephine> Evelynn D'acre.> Haestein
>>46126554Claymores are still within reason and aesthetically pleasing and knightly, not to mention a little intimidating, but I understand your reasons, not a problem.>Dark Souls 2
>>46126823>>Dark Souls 2It is the superior dark souls.
>>46126885I thought Bloodborne was the superior Dark Souls. That or Demon's Souls.
>>46126885The image was not meant to be condescending. It is actually my favorite game. Lots of variety and room for experimentation, not to mention more fluid. Also >character is forming on the things I suggestedOh my lord this is most flattering.
>>46126928The fucking octupus heads kept eating me just because I wanted to be mage.
>>46126937>The image was not meant to be condescending.Eh I am just paranoid.
So unless anyone else has something they think needs voting on, I am going to start writing soon.
>>46127045Long/Short hair, Black/Brown/Blonde/Redhead hair colour, Green/Blue/Brown/Grey eye colourFor potential drawfaggotry?
>>46127104>For potential drawfaggotry?Unless there is a drawfag here right now, I don't really think we are going to get much, I only intend to run this one for a few days at most.
>>46125213pic related for looks>>46127104
>>46127104Post images. We go with the look the most of us can agree looks good. OP can start writing in the meantime.
Figure I'll throw this out there since I can't find that one I had that would have been great for this.
>>46127187Not bad, looks pretty alright.>>46127200I was just going to assume dirty blonde hair with grey eyes with medium length hair caught in either a messy bun or ponytail.>post imagesI don't have many lady knights I'm afraid.
>>46127259Looks perfect for me. The heels and breastplate don't really detract from the image. Besides, if she can fight with heels then you know she's a real badass.
>>46127314>if she can fight with heels then you know she's a real badass. That is an feat I had planned to put into the actual quest.
>>46127275Found sort of an image. shit armor, but looks are there kind of.
so the mc is fem ?
>>46127334I love it when people don't bitch about that kind of thing and instead focus on how to use them to make the character more awesome.
>>46127563I am probably just going to start you out with that, or make it a low level perk.
>>46127626Just to avoid confusion, that is for a quest that is not this one.
>>46127701Godspeed, Ace. We look forward to Lady Isabella the Valiant Knight with a Bastard Sword.
You are knight errant Isabella. One amongst many tasked by the royal stuart sent on a rescue mission to save Princess Jeanne. While you feel indebted to the kingdom and do feel that rescuing an innocent girl is the right thing to do, the reward of your family being elevated to nobility and potentially marrying into royalty, helped you decide that this particular just cause would be the one you pursued. There are a lot of wrongs to right after all and why not spend your time going after one that pays well? Oh and if it got out that the princess was captured, it would lessen the kingdom's standing and hurt the well established order of things. Can't forget that. So like many other knights or untrained peasants looking to make a better life for them and their family, you set off to save the princess. Unlike the others, it seems you have actually found where the dragon took her. The dragon may be many things but stealthy is not one of them. It wasn’t hard to get innkeepers to point you after the dragon’s flight path, and while you were sceptical they were just bullshitting you, in an attempt to make a few coins, the ruin on top of a plateau seem to indicate that they actually did see the dragon pass by. As you are pulling some rope out of your pack to help with the climb, even if you could probably make the climb without it, you would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. As your hocking it into your belt you hear some falling and muffled yelling. Looking up you see that a figure with less armor than you has crashed into an outcropping part of the way up. Do you: > Immediately hurry to help them.> Try shouting at them.> They could be trouble, approach on guard.
>>46128049> Immediately hurry to help them.
>>46128049It begins. Isabella the lady knight's quest shalt start.Let's see how long my successful suggestion lasts.>[X] They could be trouble, approach on guard.
>>46128049>> Immediately hurry to help them
FUCK IT LADY KNIGHTs????IM OUT REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEno NO nO FUCKING WAY SHE IS A HOMO LADYKNIGHT TRYING TO SAVE A HOMO PRINCESs?s??
>>46128322Nobody said anything about the princess being gay though
>>46128322>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Used to be I'd know that this meant ironic shit posting, now I am just kinda sure it is.
Anyway calling it for helping.
>>46128322That's the worst sort of bait I've ever seen in all my years on /tg/. You didn't even use sarcasm or a subtle bait. You forgot you were using All Caps and pressed shift at the start of the last phrase. Said REEEEEEEEE without the accompanying image. Did not even raise questions about the poster's sexual orientation, didn't call them a faggot, could not insult effectivelly, intentionally or not.0/10, did not rage, would not turn into a meme, only managed to incite vague feelings of disappointment and pity. In the future, consider using more subtlety.
>>46128588>That's the worst sort of bait I've ever seen in all my years on /tg/.I don't believe you.
>>46128809To be fair, I don't have all that many years on /tg/. Only about three years, but saying "in all my years on /tg/" adds a good bit of impact to the message, if the receiver doesn't know how many years exactly.
>>46128932Pretty sure I've seen worse this year.
>>46128992Then I'm thankful I didn't find those threads. How's the update going?
>>46128049That person is in trouble, you can ask questions later. Your armored boots find purchase in the dirt and gravel, advancing as fast as you dare. Some roots almost send you falling but with your training you manage the right yourself in time to regain your balance without losing too much momentum. Grabbing a withered plant still stuck into the hill and using it to hold yourself before lunging for the outcropping. The dying brambles partially rip out before you left go of it, during the act of yourself up the ledge, parts of the plant that go stuck in your vambraces smack into your helmet. After pulling yourself up high enough to get your leg over the edge, you rip it out before turning to the groaning figure. He is covered in shallow cuts leaving blood sweat and dirt all over him, encrusted into his beard and running over his tattoos. None of the cuts or bruises look life threatening, but you can only see his arms and the part of his face left uncovered by his cracked helmet. “Are you alright?” “I’m fine.” “You don’t look fine, should let me take a look.”“Don’t need help.” “Let me help you down from here.”He just grunts at you, which you take as approval to pick him up. As much as you would like to carry him like a potato sack, you have no idea what kind of injuries his torso has, so you put an arm under his back and the other under his thigh. You slide down the hill as slowly as you can while you carry him this way. Once you reach the bottom he gets out of your arms and briefly brushes himself off.> Take off your helmet and introduce yourself properly> Leave your helmet on, ask his name
>>46129581> Leave your helmet on, ask his name
>>46129581> Take off your helmet and introduce yourself properly
>>46129516>Then I'm thankful I didn't find those threads.How do you not?
Oh and if anyone has any comments on my writing, I would appreciate it.
>>46129581>[x] Leave your helmet on, ask his nameThe man was attacked, we REALLY don't want to do that until we're sure it's safe.
>>46129668I stay mostly on the Quests, filename threads, the less popular systems like Dungeons the Dragoning and AdEva, storytime threads and silly roleplays like "Meanwhile on Dragon /tg/".Quests are easy mode though. They're either slow and chill, comfy as fuck and full of nice people or fast, furious and full of trolls. And thing is, all those trolls tend to weed out the ones that put less effort or have less skill in their trolling like mister All Caps over there. Rage and Salt are limited resources, and they have to compete for it.I also tend to skim the threads instead of reading everything.
>>46129871>The man was attackedHe just fell down the hill.
>>46129885Have you never been in a planefag thread?
>>46129890I choose not to risk it. Paranoia at max levels, we don't want a stray arrow to strike us through the skull, we never know who might be out there.
>>46129890Also, I enjoy your writing. I would add a bit more detail in between dialogue, but other than that, it's pretty enjoyable. Keep at it.
>>46129910Yes, many of them and frequently, but that's one of the Fast, Furious and Trolly quests. If you don't put effort, you don't get much salt. Unless you're Fluff or Crix, but they have it easy, just a word amd it's like all those anons turn into pillars of salt like Lot's wife.
>>46129958>Paranoia at max levels
>>46130091Magical Girl Noir Quest isn't a positive influence, I admit.
>>46130091Do you have a twitter?
>>46130010>I would add a bit more detail in between dialogueKinda having the guy be short spoken on purpose. Anyway thing came up, need to disappear for about 15 minutes. I'll be back to writing, even if I have to use my phone. >>46130134>he doesn't get it.
>>46130156never played them Fate VNs, I'm sorry.
>>46130278Well go and play them, there are good, especially heaven's feel. Anyway my point was you haven't even begun to be paranoid. And I am back and writing, there shouldn't be any other distractions.
>>46129581As he quickly checking over his gear, you ask his name. He grunts at you and says “Goren. Who are you?” As he asks you he pulls off his cracked helmet, discarding it on the ground, revealing a pair of pointed elf ears. “Knight errant Isabella. Do you need any medical attention?”“No, these infinitesimal wounds will be gone shortly. I take it you are here for the dragon?”“Something like that, you?”“Something like that.”> Agree to work with him> Ignore him and get to climbing.> Other

>>46131767I'll go with this if nothing else gets posted.
>>46131181>[x] Other "What does an elf like you want with a princess from the human kingdom? Marching headlong into death for another kingdom sounds strange."
>>46131881Going with this since it's a write in rather than one of my presets and you can still work or not work with him. Writing.
>>46131181"What does an elf like you want with a princess from the human kingdom? Marching headlong into death for another kingdom sounds strange." “I was charging, haven’t marched in my life, and I have no idea what this is about a princess. I am here to murder the dragon.” The meat slab of an elf states as a simple matter of fact as he gestures at the axes strapped to his hips and the daggers on his breast plate. >Offer to work with him.>Proceed up the hill.>Say something else.
>>46132134>Offer to work with him.
>>46132359 “Given that our goals align I feel I should point out their is a better path to the left. Shall we work together.”Goren holds out his hand, and you shake it. Wasting no time the elf proceeds to rush up the route you pointed out, with what your training tells you is reckless. In his haste he trips a few times but never falls more than ten feet before picking himself and running up again. You watch all of this as you scale the hill with far more care. The elf reaches the top well before you and just stands still at the edge while you climb. It is around this time you hear a loud beastial growl followed by a bright light, despite this Goren remains still watching you climb as though nothing had happen. Once you are within reach his gloved hand darts out, grabs your forearm, and pulls you up to the summit. Catching your breath you see the skeletons of various buildings, most nothing more than a few walls, the ones that have roofs seem to have been at least two story buildings before being wrecked. The further in the worse the damage seems to be altho there are exceptions to this with a few buildings being barely damaged or fine. A large keep deeper in, past the building seems to be where the sounds of fighting are coming from. “Ready?” “Yes I am, thank you.” After you answer the elf gestures towards the keep and takes off to it. You see little point in doing anything else so you follow after him. Goren awaits you at a breach in the keep’s wall. Forming up at the side of the breach, you poke your head out and see a person in white armor wielding a spear with your kingdom’s banner tied just below the spearhead. The fighter in white armor raises up the banner before slamming the butt into the ground. The flag radiates with a golden light, before the scaled beast vomits fire at it.
>>46132957> Move in on point with Goren behind you.> Goren is faster than you, let him charge.> Wait for a better chance at the top of the wall. (Goren will charge anyway)
>>46132970> Goren is faster than you, let him charge.
>>46133662Still writing if anyone is wondering. I ain't dead.
>>46134168You signal Goren to go in first and that you will follow after him. He nods in agreement before he runs in screaming with a serrated axe in each hand. The dragon regards him shifting the eye on the side of its face nearest to Goren and you before flames pass through the breach. Swearing to yourself as you sprawl away from the flames. Shit! What the hell is is thinking. He seemed to get the need for signaling and nodding. You had hoped to close as much distance as you could before the dragon noticed you, given as you are at a disadvantage without any kind of ranged attack. After the flames stop erupting out of the breach you take your chance to charge through it not knowing when you would get another chance or how much time you had. You see that the white gold knight had taken advantage of Goren’s distraction, stabbing at the dragon’s rips with the spear. None of the punctures were that deep however having suffered them at the hands of a mere human wounded the dragon’s pride worse than the bleeding holes in its side. Goren hacked an axe through the scales in the dragon’s right arm, leaving the axe inside he jumped and landed on axe using it as a springboard to jump higher up the dragon, dislodging the axe in a bloody mess , while the furious dragon used its left claw to backhand the figure in white, launching it into what was left of a stable. At this point Goren had a dagger in each hand, each having a blade with a snake life curve, each chained to his person, with inhuman speed the elven warrior brought down each dagger in turn, cutting into the dragon in a way that you imagined made that part of its back look like a sponge.
>>46134435With glowing red eyes that burned with such scorn and sadism that you could feel it inside of your bones the beast tore Goren from its back and threw him to the ground with such force that the elf bounced off the ground, or to be more specific the dragon let him bounce be throwing him off somewhere to the left. You have no idea where the elf went because at this point you had reached the dragon, you put all your weight behind your bastard sword, the force of the blow turning your whole body, you feel the impact run up your arms as the blade makes contact with the beast’s leathery wings, your heart jumping in your chest as to your great pride, the bastard sword cleaves all the way through the wing leaving a laceration all the way through the wing, causing the wing to bend at an alternate angle than the side of the wing that was separated by the wound. With triumph the blade stabs into the dirt, as you start to pull your sword out of the ground, the dragon starts to spin around as if mocking how you cut it, by the time you’ve removed it from the ground the dragon has completed its turn impacting you with its tale, you hear a crack as the wind is knocked out of you sending you flying back. Whipping through the air you only think about what that cracking sound was an oblivious to the fact that you are now flying backwards through the air, only coming to realise this fact as you land in some hay.
>>46134439 As you come to you see your princess in the white gold knight’s armor kneeling beside you, her long blonde hair going down her back in what you assume was a neat french braid before becoming that messy. Her spear glowing with a blue aura that surrounds the two of you, fire washing over it in a dome. Your princess undoes the fasteners on the right of your breastplate then flips it open revealing that a puddle of blood had formed in the imprint the dragon’s tail left in your torso. Princess Jeanne lays her hands on your wound muttering something before emitting a light warm light from her hands. Jaw dropping as you watch the most likely fatal wound be reduced to nothing more than a blood stain on your gambeson. “I am afraid there is nothing I can do to fix the dent in your breast plate.” “You are Jeanne? I-I mean Princess Jeanne, I mean no disrespect your highness.” You nervously blurt out at your violation of decorum.“Yes” She says with a smile that seems to be coming more from her eyes than her mouth “But I think we have more important things to worry about than pointless etiquette.” “I was sent here to rescue you, let’s go.” You say as you scramble to your feet.“Yes, yes I know, and thanks to that wound you put in that monster’s wing we should be able to escape once I get the rock. Still I hadn’t planned on leaving your friend there.”> The two of you should go look for whatever this rock is while Goren fights the dragon.> You help buy some time fighting the dragon while she looks for the rock> Both of you should return to the fight
> You help buy some time fighting the dragon while she looks for the rock

You pick up your sword and say.“I’ll try to buy you some time to find whatever that thing is, if I don’t make it tell my mother that I tired.” “Not after I spent all that effort saving you. Besides I don’t even know your name.”“Its-”“Ahhhh I can’t hear you. Introduce yourself when we get off that plateau” Jeanne shouts as she runs off into the tower. Sighing you mentally brace yourself as you move out of the stable to see the elf roll under the dragon’s claws holding a dagger up so that the dragon uses its own strength to cut itself as it swipes at the elf. > Detach the front part of your breastplate and bang on it to draw the dragon’s attention before running into a building. > Charge the dragon like you did before, only this time only two on one and you no longer have the element of surprise.> Write in
>>46135250> Throw some of its treasure around then run behind a buildingHopefully it'll think we're stealing some, and we don't want to be in a probably stone building with a fire breathing dragon around and platemail on.
>>46135299Your not by the treasure, the princess just went off to that, you are outside. And you wouldn't be staying in the building, the first option is play cat and mouse while running building to building.
>>46135349Oh okay, then > Detach the front part of your breastplate and bang on it to draw the dragon’s attention before running into a building. Don't like the idea of removing armor though, that shit's a pain to get back on.
>>46135368It's already half way off and dented to the point it doesn't fit on you.
>>46135250Taking some time to fully detach the front of your breastplate you get down on a knee and undo the straps and buckles holding it in place. Holding it in one hand you bang on it like you’ve seen some people do with a shield and shout “Cripple wing!” Before turning tail and running into a dilapidated building. The wall near the front door goes flying to the side, fortunately you far enough in that none of it hits you. Quickly making a turn you run into what you think is a kitchen, moving to the side you run at a window, jumping over a counter and hitting the window knees first. You don’t even feel the impact as you hit the ground and roll, suddenly the building goes skidding across the street, looking back you see that the dragon had thrown its left side into building body slamming the building, demolishing it like a child playing with blocks. You are happy that you remembered to serpentine, tricking the dragon into thinking you only moved in one direction. > You run into a watchtower that looks like it was heavily fortified. > Run into the keep’s walls, it is the most fortified building in dashing distance, but it will limit your mobility. > Go into some nondescript building, hope to repeat that again.> This is your chance, attack! > Write in

>>46137268>>46139494>>46139594All right watch tower it is.
>>46140389Seeing that the dragon is at least somewhat winded from going through a building, you waste no time waiting for it to get to it’s feet and dash for the watchtower. Slamming the door shut you shove an old table against the entryway as a makeshift way to bar the door. Scrambling up the stairs you don’t make it that far before part of the dragon’s snout bashes through the door.> Jump down and try to stab his mouth shut> Run up the tower> Something else
>>46141356I originally intended this to be longer but my gut tells me you might have had something in mind that I didn't so I decided to throw in a vote rather than just going up.
>>46141356> Run up the towerStabbing him in the mouth seems like a good way to get burned to a crisp.
>>46142206Hoping for more votes.
>>46141356>[x] Something elseSearch for a polearm weapon like a spear or a large banner. If we're going to jump down on it, we might as well have something long enough that pierces the mouth through both sides and makes it hard to open again. If nothing is found, then I suppose we'll just have to>[x] Jump down and try to stab his mouth shutAnd yell for Goren to possibly go for the heart.
>>46142242The place is pretty much devoid of anything as valuable as a weapon, your bastard sword should do the trick as far as you can tell (length wise) and you have completely lost track of Goren.Your trained for situational awareness but you are not that good.
>>46142321eeeh, changing vote for running up the tower then.
>>46142367All right, enough waiting time to get writing.
>>46143080Lesser touhou's make way, best girl coming through. Alice is pretty top tier even if she can't be best.
>>46142749Seeing the dragon use its face as a battering ram spurs you on to rush up the stairs, your feet and heart pounding, you flash back to all the obstacle courses your drill sergeants ran you through. Even though they still haunt your nightmares you are grateful they worked you so hard. After being briefly slowed down by the doorway being temporarily too narrow to fit its head through, it cranes its neck after you, from this angle looking like some kind of demonic snake, its neck slithering after you. While the dragon’s shoulders are injured, they have not been hurt to the point of being dislocated, and make themselves known, preventing it from following you any further. The beastial serpant lets out a snarl before pulling its head out, not long before you ran out of room to keep running as you find part of the stairway to be caved in. Having gained a respite from imminent death, you’re taking a moment to catch your breath in what appears to be a miniature version of a barracks with some playing cards scattered across a table and a few beds in somewhat useable condition despite clearly having seen better days. Part of the way down the stairs a section of the wall begins to glow red hot. You take cover behind a inner portion of a wall in the barracks with your bastard sword at the ready. Getting ready to fight like a cornered animal which you actually are, you hear the sound of the dragon crashing through the wall. Before the dust has even reached the barracks you are charging, at the hole in the wall where the dragon is surprised to see you coming at it. > Fight it here. Stab it in the fucking face!> Jump out. > Use the dragon itself as an escape route, stabbing your sword into it as you slide down its back.
>>46143672> Use the dragon itself as an escape route, stabbing your sword into it as you slide down its back.
>>46143672>[x] Use the dragon itself as an escape route, stabbing your sword into it as you slide down its back.Closed spaces against big beasts aren't going to give us an advantage, might as well injure it on our way out while we have the element of surprise in our hand.
>>46143891>>46143895Giving this a little bit more before calling it.
In the meanwhile, bumping with a /tg/ favorite of lady knights.
>>46145414I intended to use this one even before you posted it. Update is close to finished.
>>46145414That's one Lady Knight that gets around. I think she gets posted on almost all character art threads involving knights.I bet many a young lad of her kingdom joined knightly orders just because of her face, like Uncle Sam recruitment posters, but with a hot chick.Truth is, she's really sick of this Heroine of the Realm, Symbol of Knighthood bullshit and just wants to retire already. And maybe pick up dancing and singing as a hobby. I'd totally play an Idol Knights quest, by the way.
>>46144365Taking advantage of the dragon having expected you to be cowering in a corner, you leap onto the dragon’s snout, kick it in the eye as you run up its face. Tripping on the squishy patch that Goren made out of you start to fall, but not before using your momentum and weight to push the bastard sword about two thirds of the way into the meat. Cutting through the plagiopatagium your blade slows your fall until you run out of wing to cut and your blade reaches the dragon’s chest, where the change in density and scales dislodges the bastard sword after your weight slowly pulls the sword out with you, as you are unwilling to part with it. This buys you enough time to see that Gorem has scaled the dragon’s tail, holding on with one hand as the other hand used his one remaining axe which he is attempting to use to sever the dragon’s tail. Off Near the keep you see your princess had left it, holding an emerald large enough to be loaded into a trebuchet and used as its payload in a siege. You notice all this before your weight manages to make your bastard sword unstuck from the dragon, tilting before you fall and your thought go to making sure you don’t kill yourself with your own weapon during the landing.
>>46145784You do not hear the crack of your breaking bones as the dragon wails in pain, but you sure as hell feel your left ankle bend. Looking on the bright side you handled your bastard sword with a grace that not even the strictest of your drill sergeants would have found fault in. Princess Jeanne rushes over to you as you seem to feel the idea of hate telepathically burned into your mind. A red pentagram appears in front of the screaming dragon as you look at it you see a growling horror not meant to be seen on this plane of existence. Your mortal mind finds the horrific visage to the most beautiful thing you have ever seen, filling you with pain that you want more of, before the more primal part of your subconscious, your will to survive censors the unholy terror from your skull. Intangible mist seers out of the laceration in reality blistering and boiling your wound, your mind shuts down as just stares up in the sky shutting out all your sense expect your hearing to the sound of your cooking skin and muscle. Mind broken you lie like this until the crying face of your princess fills your sight. She has whatever the stone is with her, but her light doesn’t reach your ankle.> You got what you came for, the dragon is flightless and will not be able to pursue you if you leave with the princess.> Give in to despair and end it all in an attempt to try as kill the dragon with your three operational limbs.
>>46145784Just pretend I posted this along with that post.
>>46145672>I'd totally play an Idol Knights quest, by the way.I actually have a side character like that planned for my main quest, which I am planning on having this quest work into the history of. But that is one of the less developed characters. I haven't even picked out any art for her yet.
>>46136267Don't kill a fetus. What the fuck.
>>46146137Nah man I mean, like if I was pregnant the amount of caffeine in me is more the sufficient to cause a miscarriage. The fuck is wrong with you.
>>46145809> You got what you came for, the dragon is flightless and will not be able to pursue you if you leave with the princess.I want our Lady Knight to live dammit! And the "give into despair" bit doesn't endear me to the other option.I have absolutely no problems with heroic last stands if I think the character won't make it, but not despair fueled ones. Righteous rage and hatred, maybe. Duty and honor, certainly. For faith and to save others, definitely. But not despair.
>>46145809> You got what you came for, the dragon is flightless and will not be able to pursue you if you leave with the princess.Slaying it will be unoptimal. We can no longer manage our own weight succesfuly, taking away from us the advantage in mobility. Another encounter with it will be suicide. Besides, the dragon is bound to succumb to its wounds. You type the wrong word every once in a while, Ace. Be sure to review what you typed before posting!
>>46146996Ok that came out weird. You have typos sometimes, please revise your posts, is what I'm saying. Writing is still pretty decent.
>>46147016>You type the wrong word every once in a while, Ace. Be sure to review what you typed before posting!Well I have been up for a long time. >>46146987>But not despair. If this was a longer running quest I would have attached a number to the amount of sanity you lost. It wouldn't be that high.>>46147101Yeah I got it. Writing.
>>46147180Forgot your name there. Also don't be afraid to call it a night and make a new thread.
>>46147405>Forgot your name thereMy bad. >Also don't be afraid to call it a night and make a new thread.Just for that I am having another cup of coffee.
>>46147472Jesus dude, how long have you been at this?
>>46147472Christ, don't do that to yourself. A quest is better run when you're well rested.
>>46147510I woke up, ate, showered played some games for a few hours and then started running this. Goren is a result of medium amounts and amon amarth.
>>46147696https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKTtUpDfj4QEven If I stopped running this quest I'd just be doing other stuff for quite a while.
>>46147780>this refferenceI'm not 16 anymore Ace. Stop consuming coffee and let yourself collapse for goodness' sake.
>>46147946>let yourself collapseThis isn't an option, its be awake but stuck in a lethargic state or caffeinated myself into being productive. What is the reference?
>>46148014Man stop trying to get me to sleep, I can't.
>>46148041the reference is the song that was a meme among former social circles I was in.Why is sleep not an option? Hell, for how long have you been awake?
>>46148252>Why is sleep not an option? A cocktail of mental illness. Remember how I said I am paranoid? Well I don't mean that in the "oh I am so paranoid" way that a lot of people use it, causing the word to lose its meaning. I mean I am so paranoid that I got chaptered out of the army during basic for it.Also bipolar and OCD. In short, I have about another 12 hours before I have a realistic shot at maybe sleeping. I'll probably finish this well before that.>Hell, for how long have you been awake? About three or four hours before I made the first post.
>>46148381If such is the case, then it is unavoidable. I wish you well, mate, hope sleep comes to you sooner than later.
>>46148464>If such is the case, then it is unavoidableI told you. >I wish you well, mate, hope sleep comes to you sooner than later. Doesn't matter what hand I get dealt, I'll deal with it.
>>46147180“You got that thing?”“It is not a thing it is the god of growth’s- Never mind that, it will save lives.”“Then let's get out of here.” You say as you stab your sword into the ground and use it to lift yourself up. Jeanne slings you arm over her shoulder and says “What about your friend?”“I don’t even know him, found ‘im on the hill, he just wants to kill the dragon for some reason. Besides if that can save lives we can't afford to risk killing the people that it would ‘av saved.”“All right all right, fine. We need to get that look at, can you walk?”“I can if you don’t drop me.”“I won’t.” The two of you make your way towards a side of the cliff not daring to look back lest you look upon that which should not be seen. The sound of the fight rings out from behind you, if this was a conventional battle you could have a good idea what if one side was winning or not, just from the sound, but you were trained for killing bandits or enemy soldiers, not this. As you come to the edge you wonder just how you’re getting down, but before you can voice your concern a blue circle has formed around your feet, picking the two of you up and levitating both of you down the cliff. You look to your princess and she gives you a reassuring smile. “Did you have any horse around, mine seems to have run off.” Jeanne asks you as you land. “Couldn’t afford it, I walked.” “There is an inn not too far that way, we can rest and call a carriage there.”
And ending it there for now. I have a bit more to go so I'll do somewhat of an aftermath thread at some other time, at this point I am tired of questing and need to go do some other stuff. I'll post in the twitter if anyone cares enough to see the rest.Twitter: https://twitter.com/Dreadgoat Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/46123011/I'll still be around if you want to ask me anything. Telling me what you liked or didn't like would be appreciated.
Oh and you guys did a pretty good job all in all. I was expecting hoping you would get messed up worse.Getting killed, badly burned, the princess dying, or getting hurt were all things that could have happened. You also could have gotten out with nothing more than some bruises if you played it perfectly or almost perfectly.
>>46148940Good run there.I enjoyed this quite the bit, will definitely show up on the threads. Will you have a twitter notice when they up? What name will you give this?
Great. Another fucking Quest. This was exactly what /tg/ needed, great job OP.
>>46149222>I enjoyed this quite the bitWhat parts?>Will you have a twitter notice when they up? Yeah sure.>What name will you give this?Something like Knight vs dragon: the aftermath/epilogue practice quest.I am not sure if I should just run this during to week or wait for the weekend.
>>46148940The ending was a bit abrupt, but I suspect the calls for you to get some sleep had something to do with it.I honestly enjoyed the quest, but you might want to put a more eye-catching image to open the thread. It might attract more players. Keep in mind all quests have a rough start especially if you're a relatively unknown QM on /tg/, and your player-base will most likely be a fair bit smaller after the first couple threads, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Smaller quests do tend to be more... comfy, I guess. Less trolls looking to start shit.Overall, I liked it and look forward to the ending and the actual quest you plan to run.
>>46149434The parts in which she reminisced of military training and holds it both at a high standard for her physical prowess as well as it being a nightmare. Also the action parts were pretty neat.I usually like more description in between dialogue, but that's just a preference.I think you should run whenever you have the availability with a few hours notice from your twitter.Looking forward to your epilogue and actual quest!
>>46149846>but I suspect the calls for you to get some sleep had something to do with it.It had nothing to do with it.>but you might want to put a more eye-catching image to open the thread.but you might want to put a more eye-catching image to open the thread.I didn't really have anything prepared ahead of time.
>>46148940Got some criticism for ya.The way dialogue is written feels like a script. Just a line, break, another line, break, you get my drift. Breaks the flow of the scene, seems like they ain't talking while doing, but talking and then doing before more talking. Also, break up the thick paragraphs. And I'm also seeing a bunch of run-on sentences.
>>46150088>The way dialogue is written feels like a script. Just a line, break, another line, break, you get my drift. Breaks the flow of the scene, seems like they ain't talking while doing, but talking and then doing before more talking.Got any examples for dialog done better?
>>46150569Kant-O-Celle.Say what you will, but the quest itself is dialogue heavy, and often manages to do that well during the more comedic scenes.
Yeah dialogue is one of planefag's strong points.
