Across your controlled worlds your forces stand ready to launch into battle at any moment. Your armies swell and your fleets grow larger by the day. Your projects are ambitious and many.Your capitol city reaches for the skies and spreads across the mountain range, bone and metal forged into great sizes to host your current and future subjects.Buried below in the heart of the mountain one of your greatest creations nears completion, the Deep Rots shell formed of chitin, bone, stone and metal. Within the nearly complete shell the lake of necrotic fluid grows, clusters of muscle or bone forming spontaneously then breaking apart at random. The Beast of Rukor lay dead, it's colossal form becoming Reconstructed from the inside out in the turbulent depths of its ocean home. Your plans for the Beast to turn it into a weapon of awesome power, a leviathan to turn against your foes and inspire fear and awe in the living.Above the protoplanet mining base and shipyards your Flagship grows. A floating fortress its bulk easily dwarfs the newly created capitol ships that rise from their pylons, fresh and eager for battle.War was coming and you were making quite sure that you would not be taken unaware.Soon it will be time for the Armada of the Worm to reach out and begin it's conquest of the stars.

The children, soft-shelled and fast, in several of the villages gather debris blown from the storms and construct small driftwood figures around the Dreamstone obelisks before their parents usher them inside. The dreams of the ructu are vivid, each able to explore their world in lucid detail. Many explore the depths you had visited, sharing with them the Beast and it's hunt, the glory of the colorful reefs and the eerie deep-sea life of large crustaceans and grotesque worms.Your latest captives arrive over the Scorched Planet, the confederate corvette's hull paint already peeling in the intense radiation. The dazed captives are dragged out of the holds of the ships by Talons with a group of Looms beginning to pick through the corvette for anything of interest. The Test Subjects are brought into a large, dimly lit room and separated among an array of tables or encased in large glass vats. Talons and Looms move among the subjects, restraining the waking and the increasingly terrified captives. Surgical tools laid out on bone trays are brought out alongside hovering vats of necrotic fluid with dangling hoses with hypodermic needles like some monstrous jellyfish. The screams begin as your Think Tanks float through the room and guide the Reconstructed in their profane experiments. There was much to do, much to prepare for. What shall you do first?

This would allow them to grow their strength faster.Sort of meant to become the tool of your future Necrotic Sorcerers, should that path be reachedGlutton Spheres though have to be attuned by someone wielding a Reaver Staff, a Think Tank, or a General to the energy they will absorb. >>45643900You watch the ritual of creating the Voidsingers commence through an attendant Troll. Deep in the rock of Horizon's Drops moon the Voidknight Order has constructed a ritual chamber for the purpose of infusing the Black Flame of the Void into the living. The five potential Voidsingers kneel and sit within a large circle of carved stone, lines of void-flame burning with ultraviolet light surrounding them. Revenant Lorgul stands with his two Disciples around the circle. Their dark armored formed engulfed with the dark flames as they chant in the language of the Black Flame, an ancient speech even you have trouble understanding, a language dredged up from the dead memories of Ghul. The Necrolyte Legionnaires were stripped of their armor, bodies shaking as they were slowly infused with the Void energies. Two stonestars, a human, a vorh, and a netu, all with the potential to become like your favored Osjiic servant the Voidsinger. The osjiic among the Legionnaires felt both relief and a sense of envy that none of their kind had been selected.Lorgul had said the ritual would take the better part of two days, the first time they had attempted it themselves. Your Voidsinger had said his "graduating class" had to suffer through the ritual for more than a week, many of the weaker osjiic dying off within the first day.
>>45644252Intrigued by the ritual you ponder the potential of infusing the living with the power Necrotic. The Wormstar had infused many of it's champions, including your original self, with the ability to manipulate it after being risen to undeath but you do not recall any attempts into bestowing the power unto the living.Your musings were interrupted by a screeching alert as your system sensors detects a large burst of Void radiation from a void-drive within the system of Horizon's Drop. Satellites quickly adjust and your mood sours at the sight of a group of Osjiic Empire sub-capitols emerge.A Heavy cruiser flanked by a trio of frigates and four corvettes arrived in orbit over the jovian world your fuel mining and refineries toiled. Weapons fire is quickly filled as the Terrordrome stationed in orbit over the largest of the refineries turns it's weapons against the craft, guard Nails racing to engage the Osjiic fighters that launched from their hangars.Your home system was under attack, the Osjiic arriving in search for their lost sub-admiral but this did not represent their full strength, the main investigatory fleet still within a distant system.Hurriedly you command your forces to attack but there was a moment where the ticking of the cosmic clock halted and a voice like a million droning cicadas reaches you."You have delayed enough, Wormspawn," the Masked caution before time resumes. The Osjiic have sent a small fleet to your home system!>1 Heavy Cruiser>3 Frigates>4 CorvettesHow shall you deal with these interlopers?

Engines burn bright as the Necrotic Fleet is awoken and guided to attack.Your Terrordrome proves it's worth in the first battle their kind experiences. Beams from powerful Necrotic Flayer Turrets cut through the darkness and strike the attacking ships. The Heavy Cruiser angles itself and unleashes a salvo of powerful void-infused slugs, an unlucky Nail reduced to space dust in its passing. The slugs strike against the shields of the Terrordrome, the first two layers flickering away and rocking the spherical craft. The concentrated fire of necrotic flayers and necroflenser break past the shields of a frigate, the hull beginning to melt before systems fail across the craft leaving it to drift crippled toward the gas giant.Nails engage in a vicious dogfight with the bulkier Osjiic fighters, shredding each other into bits of shrapnel with missile, bullet, flenser and flayer, illuminating the larger sub-capitols with the lights of exploding craft. The osjiic grew cocky as they concentrated their fire on the Terrordrome and it's weakening shields. A frigate turns to launch a volley of missiles towards gas harvesting ships, detonating one and turning to another. With the only defensive Terrordrome doing it's best to fight against the onslaught with a modest guard of fights the Osjiic seemed to feel confident in their victory.>cont

>>45645562A bright nova of light flashes rapidly around them as your fleet uses their skip drives to arrive in orbit around the gas giant. The sense of dread that arose from the Osjiic fleet was almost palpable as they find themselves suddenly surrounded by a fleet of capitols. You stand on the hull of your battlecruiser spear in hand and gazing across the void at the intruders, watching as your ships unleash their barrages. The darkness of space becomes bright with the light of countless flayers and necroflensers, missiles and metal slugs.Another frigate and two of the corvettes are quickly obliterated or crippled in a matter of moments. The Heavy Cruiser's shields fall under a hail of chain-flenser fire, a swarm of support coffins descending on the craft. They latch onto the gray hull of the ship with their boarding claws like grotesquely over-sized ticks and begin tearing at the bulkheads while Piercing Nails focus on destroying their communication arrays. One of your battleships, a monstrous craft bristling with weapons casts a shadow over the remaining ships, chain-flenser turrets targeting their weapons mounts and engines. Defensive corvettes fill their role well, repeater cannons intercepting missiles and gunning down fighters that attempt to flee the suddenly disastrous battle. Finally your support coffins tear through the hulls of the osjiic ships in several sections, sealing themselves over the breaches with sheets of muscle. Riot gas from preignited grenades billow out to fill the hallways as Trolls and Shock Troops board the crippled Osjiic ships, followed quickly by Talons, Stingers and a small amount of Looms. The color changing creatures disappear into ventilation ducts and passages, hunting for officers and ship captains.>cont

The mass of Reconstructed surging through the ships taking down the unfortunate gray-hominids mere extensions of your will. The Osjiic put up an admirable defense, Voidsingers casting forth powerful attacks but they are absorbed to their shock and horror by crystal devices that pulse and contort in unnatural ways.Talons swarm over barriers and soldiers, Stingers trading fire with military fire as they take the halls. Trolls and Shock Troops carving a bloody path through the defenders as they target key systems. Looms riddling officers with paralytic flechettes unseen from ventilation throwing the chain of command into chaos or spitting sprays of acid onto power conduits to plunge the ships in darkness. You almost pity these Osjiic fools, the fleet quickly overwhelmed by the might of your Reconstructed soldiers and ships. Their ships unable to flee several Voidsingers try to detonate themselves but they are put down mercilessly, not willing to risk your prizes. Finally, with Trolls and Shock Troops buzzing with electric energy snarling and snapping at the entrance to the heavy cruisers bridge you stride forth. The commander of the ship, a dark skinned osjiic veteran of many campaigns, stands before you. A Void Repeater grasped in his hand he looks ready to attack but finally drops the weapon at your feet and bows his head, fist to his chest, "We submit. >>45647265You have Roktir brought to the bridge of your battlecruiser, the tall Osjiic stripped of his armor and flanked by a pair of Shock Trolls. Seated on your throne with the recently arrived Punisher Agona by your side you motion for the Osjiic to approach. The wound where the domination spike had been driven into his neck still seeped a rivulet of dark blood but he stands before you, his face blank and stoic like a good soldier. His bald head held the scars from the Osjiic neural cybernetics but knowledge gained from Estkri before her Reconstruction let you know that his were no longer inhibiting his behavior with his promotion to his current rank.Agona looks over the Osjiic with her eyeless gaze, the commander glancing at her for a long moment then back to you. He looks ready to speak but you cut him off, drumming your claws on the stone armrest, "Your predecessor Sub-Admiral Estkri provided at least somewhat of a challenge for me. Refused to give up to the last."You feel his anger well up but a spasm of pain from the spike keeps him silent, "You will tell me what I wish to know or I will rip that knowledge from your mind. It will not be pleasant," you pause and wait for him to nod then continue, "You will share with me everything you know of the Investigatory Fleet. Tell me why Estkri garners such a response. Tell me the strengths of the fleet and its weaknesses. You will tell me everything you know or you will suffer greatly. I have little time or patience for those that disobey me."Another spasm of pain radiating from the spike causes him to grimace and cough several times. Spitting to the floor the scarred Osjiic reveals what he knows of the fleet. There were two other minor scouting wings in addition to the main fleet stationed over the world your Ahkam Decoys had attacked. He had no idea of the other two scouting wings but they were investigating likely places along the route the Scout Fleet would've gone.>cont
>>45647797Don't forget to ask this>>45647385
>>45647797So how does everyone think we should go about this? I now is a pretty good time to hit and wipe out the main battle fleet. We've bled the Osijic fleet about as much as we can without having them directly combat the main Akham fleet, and you know they know would have known which system Roktir was investigating. I think we should strike them directly, and openly, very soon if not right now.
>>45647898>and you know they know would have known which system Roktir was investigating.what
>>45647938Do you think he departed the main fleet without leaving them his itinerary? That seems like a pretty basic aspect of interstellar naval warfare.

You sense him holding back information and after a moment of blinding pain that makes him drop to his knees and nearly retch his last meal he finally coughs and holds up a hand."Again, tell me why Estkri's fleet got such a large force looking for her? I know your empire has let larger fleets disappear without a worry. Why hers?" you ask, Agona standing silently behind you but you can feel her own curiosity piqued."I do not know...The Emperor himself sent two Deathshead Guardians to search for her. I'd heard of her exploits, a powerful and mighty warrior but still just another warrior. I do not know why the Emperor desires her return, I truly do not," he says and you can feel his utter honesty in his words."Very well. You may go now. Rest. You and your soldiers begin your new lives under my banner. Once you are ready you will speak to one of my representatives and reveal all your knowledge of your former empires strengths in this sector. Begone," you wave dismissively and the osjiic stands, escorted to a coffin then to his cell deep in the moon. You glance at Agona who had been silent the entire time, "Perhaps I should've interrogated your former self more thoroughly before creating you, my daughter."Punisher Agona barks out a laugh and shakes her head, "Don't call me that, Lord Jadyk," she grows serious quickly, "They will return. This was a feeler, bait, to see where the unseen predator will strike and they forced us to take their bait spectacularly."

>>45642681Can glutton sphere be used against Arkham lightning?Could we pair the lightning rod and large glutton sphere in a ship to completely nullify Arkham attacks?... In fact, does the glutton sphere make lightning rod largely obsolete? We could equip all of the ships with LGS and they would offer a wider range of protection including electricity attacks. We should upgrade all of our ships with them when we have time and resources. They help against both Osjiic and Arkham.
Would it be possible to create a version of the catoblea that instead of fool sign eats biomass and produces metal perhaps something like the stone star carapace creatures maybe speak with the obsidian born about this so we have something where we trade x biomass for x (%less) of metal oreJor for space pope! Also I suppose it depends on the living experiments bit would it be possible to create a species that reproduces rapidly like rabbit but something of a bigger size, so we can make spirit farms ?Also can we have the newly conquered commander place a false report advising they where attacks by an arlham scouting fleet at our location requesting resupply and reinforcements at another location and leave a nice big trap in waiting
>>45650162All for putting 4-5 large ones on our flag ship and have then feed into a giant main cannon so we can return to sender if you catch my drift Also do the sponges allow us to convert the energy into another type?
Could we use the crystals to suck every last drop of necrotic energy out of our trade goods? Also IMAGINE WHAT THE PLANT GUYS WOULD TRADE FOR THIS TECHNOLOGY!
>>45650283>Also can we have the newly conquered commander place a false report advising they where attacks by an arlham scouting fleet at our location requesting resupply and reinforcements at another location and leave a nice big trap in waitingThat's an excellent suggestion, my friend. In fact, if we haven't reclaimed and broken down the remains of their ships, we could use them as decoys (I know we can build mimicked ships but genuine ships are probably better). Here's the plan: learn the route that the scout fleet was supposed to take. Determine the perfect system without our presence where the Arkham could have staged an ambush. Put the crippled fleet there. Build some arkham mimicked ships to litter the battleground. Make it seem like Osjiic barely won the engagement. Now for the best part. Make a diversion for the actual Arkham so that they go to investigate the trapped system just when the rescue fleet arrives, making them fight each other once more.

Send the Daggers and Osjiic from the outposts to the Legion. Give the herds to the colonists.
>>45650433Maybe report Angonas former shop as crash landed on a barren planet unable to retrieve due to heavy arkham forces. I think that's big bough bait to lure in their forces heavily maybe report back to the arkham that the dead corpse is being dissected on the planet or experimented on by the osjiic
>>45650590What's your obsession with efficiency? I agree with you about the herds and outpost, they're chump change but we should just make the Omegas and Reapers in addition to our current miningforces. We need diggers and excavators for coconstruction purposes too
>>45653532We're always in need of more metal. If we can increase the production by two without spending a cent, why not? Construction purpose diggers and excavators can do their thing in background when they are needed without cluttering the stat page. We should strive to find more ways to streamline the report before it grows too big.Why do you think we built biomass farms? If it were up to me, I would remove the lichen-farms and solars from the report page as well.We should start establishing template armies and fleets as well.
>>45653532If it's simpler to use it means grave has more time to do quest stuff as opposed to micromanagement taxation department stuff counting out meat factories and cross referencing their income statements Also we have a universe to conquer, and that ain't cheap. Also I wonder f presented the choice wood Jor want to become undead or say living? He's heard the worm song and this need to be encouraged
>>45650433Maybe get the commander to claim they found Estkri, she is being held captive under interrogation on arkham world X where their fleet is gathering Maybe Estkri' is the ramps daughter
>>45654015I figured she was his lover or concubine or something. As for bait we could do the use the same tactic we used with on the assault on the Osijic factory world. Send in the captured ships loaded up with Akham fighters and have them zerg rush the Osijic when in range, if we wanted to keep up the charade and keep Horizon's drop hidden. Although for the record I think now is a fine time to stop beating round the bush and openly attack them, these suicidal false flag attacks are getting expensive.
>>45654104Nah, I think the more we make them bleed each other out, the better. For all we know, they might band together against common 'evil' threat if we start kicking ass and taking names.
>>45647111Is it late to suggest using NID interface to scrap memories of recently dead Osjiic? Who knows, maybe we'll learn something new?I think we should start a new research. Similar to ship mimicry, we should have body mimicry. With growing pool of memories gathered by NID, we could easily build life-like replicas of different races. That would give us more opportunities for espionage, subterfuge and sabotage.
>>45653976Then we should make mining fleets. The omegas and reapers are intended to carry the small harvesters>>45654104I figure she's his lover or related to him
>>45654731>The omegas and reapers are intended to carry the small harvestersSays who? I don't see anything mentioned like that in the description.>This super heavy version of the harvester ship is designed for long range, longer term treks into space. Specialized for breaking down huge objects such hollowing out small moons and sections of asteroid fields. Without the usual on-ship weaponry and lacking any kind of armor the Omega is a dangerous ship to send out on its own for fear of pirates and raiders. Lacking an FTL drive the ships depends on piggy-backing on a capitol ship and is typically left behind with an escort to begin it's mining operations.>Then we should make mining fleets. If you're right, this is not a bad idea.
>>45654787It was an educated guess. The omegas and reapers have hangars for them. Also I don't think mining ships can operate on a planets surface or below like the excavators and diggers can
We need Nekris to amp up his Arc abilities and see if the Lavafather can bestow lava powers to Agona.I wonder how the Volcano ships are progressing...
>>45655237Sorta correct about the mining ships. They can't tunnel or dig on a planet beyond open-pit strip mining. Effective but very destructive to the environment/planet.>>45654731Again, sorta right. They don't need Harvesters but they work better with them.Or you can keep defensive Nails or Coffins in their hangars
>>45656544So they are perfect for asteroids and planets which we don't give a fuck about.I stand by my suggestion to build only Omega harvesters and reclaiming other mining units to build more of them. We have plenty of asteroids to mine and planets which serve no other purpose than mining for us.
>>45654472Cloningresearch may be possible once your current living/necrotic research finishes.>>45650370They can be used to purify items and materials yes. Could drain an Osjiic power core leaving them just a pile of mundane bone dust.
OP, did you add the custom equipment for every soldier idea to the research list? Or does it not need research topic?Let them have whatever custom mods and add-ons they want for their armament, heck, let them engrave their names if they want to.I want our living army to be operational as fuck.
>>45656701Sounds good though I did mean to include that an omega or reaper does produce bonus M with the harvesters when I made them in order to create mining fleets but I am dumbWe could stand to do like HQQ and order ships in fleets now instead of by the ship
>>45656713Just a thought, but could we pull one last deception between the two fleets. Mock up one of the caputred ships to look like it had escaped from a akham attack, with a voice record of the lance commander describing a akham ambush in the system, and mention that they have captured Estkri and now the scout fleet. Give them some garbled coordinates that'll lead them to the Akham stronghold. Let them destroy each other, and then swoop in to defeat the winner.
>>45656786They already do so. Most of the Legion uses the simple exosuits though more are switching tothe medium. They have full access to the Cauldron Armory and are experimenting with what fits them best. The officers have even started to request their medium exosuits look more like a Reconstructed
>>45656788That's a good idea. What is the best ratio for them?>>45656791The more I think about it, the more is it obvious that Estkri is someone important to the emperor. If we make him believe that Arkham are responsible for her death then we can sic them on each other to have a full-scale war. Once they have exhausted each other, we will swoop down and destroy both empires.>>45656824That's cool. So how are the soldiers finding their new place of employment?
>>45656865If the thread is still up by the time I get off work I'll let you know the ratio. At lunch break on phone. The necrolytes seem to be adjusting well. They complain about the ice planet and talk about setting up a base on the planet your excavators are mining. They are also getting bored again. They spend their time training and getting to know each other including the new Stonestar recruits
I have trouble visualizing the size of the ships and the fleets. Grave, could you give a better description of them or, better, give a comparison pic?
>>45654787What about a mining space station thing like the terrodome only full of remote controlled escavators and then we make a series of carrier ships capable of FTL to continuously ferry materials from it to base>>45655322Give him the staff to begin making up, maybe make it a halberd though. Also speaking of the obsidian born I wonder what would happen if we inscribed one with the worm stars language >>45656713Could the stone matrix be repurposed to aim inwards an absorb all radiant energy, so to say a energy dampener. Imagine a void drive that emits no outward void energy or weapons powered to full while to all outward scanners are still at full rest Stealth ships and confuse the fuck out of our enemies as to how we are powering shit>>45656788Fleets sound good anything to make your job easier >>45656824Can we give the necrolytes the ability to command certain reconstructed for instance giving them gargoyles or talons to use in tricky situations, so they still do the fighting but they also have options if something would otherwise be suicidal to attempt>>45657390Send them to take the confederate space station we stole those people from the world already has a heavy mining operations that we could put to better use
Bump for Hope and Undeath
>>45660769On a side note I feel if the necrotic infusion in living beings works we should infuse the upper ranks of the necrolytes
>>45661707Let's first see what happens when we actually do it to living subjects though
>>45660769If it's meteor mining you want you could make a ship built like a cylinder. It will have a few weapons systems so it can break up Rocks that are too bigTractor beams pull in meteors of the right sizeOnce inside its "mouth" a void generator pulverizes the rocks further until it's like gravelThem in the "stomach" of the ship will be a larg cauldron that refines the gravel in to metal, rock, other materials we can use or sellThen once enough of each material has been collected it's shoots it at a moon colony that takes the material to usI call it a meteor maggot They might cost a lot to make but they should produce a LOT and not just metal but other useful or valuable materials as well
Okay, sorta here. I'll look over the math of the harvesters real quicklike.
>>45662179EVERYBODY!HE'S HERE!! act natural
>>45662179We also need to work out a currents or trade system and what other materials besides metal can be found in mining
>>45662088If we build this thing let's equip it with an FTL drive and docks for an entire mining fleet, so it can carry them anywhere it sets up shop.
>>45660769Using crystal tech to hide our ships energy signatures? That's smart thinking anon.I also think the idea of a mobile mining super center to serve as the heart of a mining fleet is a cool idea. If we give it the ability to move FTL like that meteor maggot design it could carry an entire fleet with it.
>>45662299We could use the spherical ship (forgot the name) as a template
>>45662235Depends on the size, if we want to build it fuck huge the we actually don't need an ftl, we could just park it in the meteor belt and have it in orbit going the opposite direction of the meteorsAnd once the meteor belt is mined out then it can be converted in to a giant space station, it will be the trade hub of the system
>>45662406You mean the terrordromes? Such a ship could house a huge ass refinery and warehouse for the mining fleet sure, but why not slap some engines on it so it can move to richer asteroid fields as it taps out old ones?
>>45662506Pretty sure asteroid fields don't work that way, they're pretty much stationary in their orbit around a star.
>>45662612You can't be in orbit and be stationary. If they where stationary they would be pulled into the sun. It's the momentum of orbit that keeps them from doing that, and they all orbit the sun in the same direction. It's just how space works
>>45662218I think I know what we can use the non metal materials generated from mining the meteor beltWhat if we could make a modified Crit crawl that used rock instead of metal? We could not only mine out the meteor belt but also fill out home system with a cloud of Crit crawls!
I'm so bad at math. Should've thought of that before I started a quest with troop counts that can go into the thousands or millions given timeThe Omega Harvester and Reaper Harvester Hangars are able to hold 5 Harvester craft each and the small harvesters are able to generate a larger amount of ore.Harvester normally digs up 80M daily but while docked with a larger harvester ship they can dig up 110M, nearly an additional third of metal.A Reaper with 5 Harvesters would generate 1000M daily for the initial cost of 180B 410MAn Omega with 30 Harvesters would generate 4250M daily for the initial cost of 730B 1600MI'm sure if Math-Anon were here he'd point out how bad this is still
>>45663098Sweet, is >>45663000 possible? It might take some research but can we do it?
>>45663098So how many of the big ones can we smash out at once? Also I feel we more thoroughly explore the irradiated planet where we encountered the crystals as they seemed to just be sitting there doing nothing we left think tanks to do surveys but I don't think they ever found anything else which is strange as from what the floating obelisk was spouting it sounded like a fortified crypt world that the alliance of planets used to house their dead so they would never rise (having said that I think we are good enough on biomas regardless but who know what hidden relics/potential allies might be tucked away in a random prison
>>45663402Maybe we should ask Jor where to start mining in the planet since he seem to have a bit of experience when it comes to accidentally stumbling into long abandoned evil while mining
>>45663000I bet if we work with the lava father we can find out how to use stone instead of metal on some stuff
>>45663402>So how many of the big ones can we smash out at once?I'll be nice and say you can make them in two days time.>>45663000Sorry Crit Crawls need the little bit of metal they requirenice trips tho>>45664326It's true that you have no idea how the Lavafather or Obsidianborn operate or create their technology. They might be able to come up with the solution you're looking for.>>45662218I'll think of a currency system during the week. Going to be too busy to come up with it before tomorrows thread but I think I can come up with something.>>45660769I like your idea about using the GLutton spheres to mask energy signatures. Hadn't even thought of that.Gonna say, yes that is possible with further tweaking.True stealth ships like those in HQQ seem to be quite rare. Only the Sunscale Divers seemed to possess that technology so far.The necrolytes can already call upon the service of Gargoyles, Stalkers and the like. Their communication network is routed through dedicated Think Tanks allowing them to give orders to Reconstructed under their command. Should they give a command you or a Think Tank don't agree with the order just isn't passed along.>>45662088A Meteor Maggot would be more of a space station than a ship once you start getting to this size.I like the idea of it though. It would require large ships or swarms of ships with tractor beams to drag the asteroids to it but it would be able to break them down and devour them quite effectively. WOuld be impossible to hide though and will cost a fortune after you unlock it with researching Spacestation tech
>>45664469You say it would be impossible to hide but we already have an idea of removing energy signals and we have active camouflage on some of our guys, once we get to the level of building something this big I bet we will have the tech to hide it
>>45664701no i agree with grave. how are we going to hide a spacestation eating an asteroid field?
>>45664832Make giant crystals set to absorb light and put them all around the station
>>45662218Why not use bone Chits with a rune of the Wormstar, For Worm of coarse carved into them, and infused with necrotic power, so they are hard to counterfeit.

So what are we doing tomorrow to deal with the Ahkam and Osjiic>?
>>45666576Depending on how they show up we could some of our ships In between there ships so they hit each other
>>45666576Lure the osjiic with false news of the previous fleets, then allow the two to shoot each other until we can swoop in and clear up
>>45666576If the battle is next to a planet we have part of out fleet fly away, the enemy's will think they are running away, but in reality they are slingshot around the planet to attack the enemy's backs
>>45666721ok which planet should we lure them to? We have the commander captured, can use him to lure them whereever we want
>>45666997>http://pastebin.com/u/ceronullThe White Dwarf with the research lab, maybe. It's not got any other forces interested in it at the moment

>>45663098math seems alright to me but I'm not that math-anon
>>45663098>I'm sure if Math-Anon were here he'd point out how bad this is stilllmao, yes, it is actually worse than a lone Omega doing its thing.I'm not even good at math. Perhaps I should have said how I calculate efficiency. You simply divide the daily production of metal by the cost of the unit in metal. I don't put biomass into calculation because we always have it in abundance and it would make things overly complicated. So, Omega Mining Fleet would be 4250/1600 = 2.65While single Omega would be 950/250 = 3.8Here, I'll make it simple for you. Just make the Omega Mining Fleet mine 6400 (or 6500 to make a nice round number) then it would be 6400/1600 = 4 (or 6500/1600 = 4.06). That way it would be just slightly more efficient than a single Omega harvester.Someone should suggest a better name than Omega mining fleet.
>>45670873yeah I swear I have a form of dyscalculia or something.Oh well
>>45670873So, if you agree to this. I'll edit this suggestion a bit >>45650590After reclaiming other metal producers, build 20 Omega mining fleets. Cost: 14600B 32000MWe'll go from current production to 128000 (or 130000 depending what number you take)and then this >>45648450Instead of diggers, reapers and omegas just build 5 more Omega fleets. So the list would look like this:Build 5 Omega fleets: 3650B 8000MCreate 16 capitol pylons: 24000B 19200MCreate 20 sub capitol pylons: 20000B 16000MCreate 25 small craft pylons: 20000B 15000MCreate 5 vehicle factories: 5000B 10000MTotal cost: 72650B 68200MWe'll have 70670B and 6860M left over.>>45671094So, you're cool with the proposed daily output (6400 or 6500)?For Reaper with 5 harvesters, I would suggest having daily output of 1300. Although I don't see any reason to build them.
>>45671166Why the focus on efficiency? Seems to be stressing out Grave and with the current yields the resource producers pay for themselves in a single turn
>>45671228Chill, it's fine. Do I really seem stressed?>>45671166SO you want to scrap all our current metal producers and just make the Omega fleets with the leftovers?
>>45671315Yes. I don't see any downsides.
>>45671505That'll be the first thing I call a vote for tomorrow
>>45671876Can we also speak with the lava father about metal alternatives while we are at it. I'm site someone who is the mountain can think of a suggestion or two
>>45671505Destroying the majority of our resource intake isn't a bad idea? I like the idea of effeciency but we don't have any reason to scrap the entirety of the diggers, and that this isn't even considering our reliance on them for our construction efforts.
>>45671987yeah it seems like a short term solution. We should still make those Omegas but let's keep our current sources. Should we split up our existing harvesters into the new omegas or reapers?
>>45672247They aren't a short term solution, they're a smaller and more mobile variant of our entropic excavators. The diggers are the mortar which our mining operations are built on, and are furthermore a vital construction tool for subterranean construction of any form. Just because they are marginally less efficient than other forms or mining we've come up with doesn't change the fact that they are still reliably producing far more metal than we have to invest in building them doesn't mean we should abandon using them. Furthermore, relying entirely on mining fleets for metal intake is incredibly dangerous, as those ships are hopelessly exposed compared to planetary mining robots. Any enemy fleet can identify them from the far side of a solar system, and the ships themselves are practically defenseless against dedicated warships. The omega harvester is the only design of the entire fleet that has shielding for crying out loud. As soon as we reveal our hand to the factions of the galaxy you can bet they will be hunting down these fleets like wolves, and I would feel a lot safer if most of our mines were protected by several hundered feet of rock and a shitload of AA batteries. And what do we do with the fleets when we run out of destroyed ships to process? There are only so many asteroid fields we can access that are actually rich enough to be worthwhile. In regards to your question, we ought to make a bunch more harvester coffins to go with the new harvester fleets, but I've always assumed the omegas and reapers would be working together and sharing smaller ships between them. They are kind of designed to act as different arms of a combined harvesting fleet, going after space rocks and debris of every imaginable size.
>>45672452Oh I completely agree with you. Diggers and Excavators have been vital to the infrastructure of the Armada. Plus I've grown attached to them.My big problem with relying on the ships is like you said, they can only mine asteroids and shipwrecks or strip-mining a planet like the Ishimura. I feel kinda protective of our planets desu
>>45672531Wait, I'm getting confused, are you saying the diggers or a short term solution or the harvester fleets? Because I thought you were arguing that we should scrap all of our diggers to build a bunch of harvester fleets.
>>45672725I was saying to the other guy who wanted to scrap the diggers and excavators is a short term solution to boosting metal production.I say we keep everything we have and make additional harvester fleets
>>45672792Well in that case I agree with you wholeheartedly. I feel that other guy's obsession with 'efficiency' is starting to get a little over the top.
>>45672853It's more about increasing metal income while making te numbers rounded so grave has an easier time calcating the income say if the income if 4 items at 2000 a day it's easier to count then 5 items at 957 and 34 at 63 each per day. So maybe just build enough extra ground diggers to round out the number or maybe we set it up like 1 mine site contains x of this harvester and produces y amount of materials as opposed to counting it by individual diggers and escavators If I had more time at work I could probably make an excel spread sheet to do this for you
Can the crystal sponges be modified to absorb ambient living energy given off by living subjects without draining them directly. Like have them sit quietly in the background absorbs the excess energy people exert during the day. That way if we have huge cities we can gain a se cent amount without directly killing people for it and Jaydk can have a proper celebration drink
>>45672919feeding off the latent life energy that the living naturally produceWe're becoming a strangely benevolent undead Matrix
>>45672895He could always add the option to produce diggers in large batches, like we already do with all our combat units.
>>45672895I wonder if we can get a bonus to mining if we have grave make a proper mining/refinery structure for our diggers and such
>>45672919Clever. Very clever. I love how...out there some of the shit we brainstorm during these late night post-threads.
>>45672919Why don't we just take it a step further and figure out a way we can make the crystals absorb either background cosmic radiation or SOMEHOW become straight up Zero-Point energy taps? This solution would probably get us more power and less likely to give out soul-depression.
>>45671987I honestly don't know what to say. Maybe I'm not explaining it clearly enough, although I don't know how much clearer could i be when I actually posted all the numbers and calculations (they aren't even that complicated)By scrapping all of our mining units and using the materials gained to build new omega fleets, we will INCREASE our production by more than 2 without spending a single resource.>considering our reliance on them for our construction efforts. If this somehow could affect our industry negatively, surely Jyoti would have mentioned something.Cauldrons can churn out units in matter of minutes. Why the hell do we need construction units on standby, cluttering status page, when this can be done in the background? We order something to build, the cauldrons on the site will construct needed workers on the spot, once the work is done, they will reclaim them. This will all happen automatically in the background, it wouldn't even needed to be mentioned.>>45672452We'd have to mine metal in billions or trillions before we start seriously affecting the planets and asteroids we are mining. (We produce 3.2 billion tonnes of just iron ore per year on Earth. I don't see our planet being literally cracked open and almost hollowed out)>hunting down these fleets like wolvesThis whole argument is flawed. Naturally, they would have armed escorts with them or at least a terrodrome or two protecting the mining operation. Our mining operations RIGHT NOW are being defended.>>45672895>It's more about increasing metal income while making te numbers roundedThis.I've seen couple of quests and civs suffocate due to all the ridiculous number crunching. We need streamline as much as we canWe should be looking to make army and fleet templates alreadyShit, if you guys are so attached to diggers and harvesters, have them be part of the mining fleet.Or perhaps have two mining "Units": Omega fleet, and Mining Site. Mining sites would be like biomass farms.
>>45673084>>45673857the way i figured it was that it could absorb the energy given off by living creatures going about their daily lives without negative effects upon them [they dont die sooner but the life absorbed is slow, only by increasing the population can this be sped up. or if worst case scenario happens and we need the energy we crank it up to 11 and drain out citizens]The idea of getting alot of energy for nothing like absorbing background radiation could be potentially game breaking as we would gain power without working for it. this way our power income is directly related to our population and thus more controllable by the GM. the idea of a good game is victory from adversary, not boom god mode activated take that gm. plus im sure the idea would need research, and could probably be done after weve finished the living cauldron tests, would hate to turn on the machine and find out we accidently gave everyone space aids, so to speak. >>45673949people dont see the point in what your doing so they wonder at your reasons, but since its beneficial to the quest considering we only rule like, 3 planets and the numbers are getting worse, i'm all for stream Lineing this for the GM as much as possible.Might i suggest looking at numbers for batch's of miners similar to the units and work out what the numbers would work out to in cost and outward production? possibly suggest the maths for a refinery situation like you did with the meat factories? And also because i refuse to let this thread die, and I want Grave to feel the love, here is an update to the victory pose [sorry its not done, been busy last two days >.< ]
>>45672853Well, I'm sorry for being the only one who bothers taking notice of such things.Like, take the original reaper cruiser proposed. The guy didn't even bother to find out how much it would produce metal.I went to the pastebins to try to find out how much it would produce and there was no info on that. He could have at least asked Jyoti since he was live at the moment. Anyway, I decided to take harvester craft as a standard and found out that not only the original reaper cruiser designs weren't any better than what we already had. They were TWICE as less efficient than the diggers. So the guy suggested, had it approved and then put a build order of units which were vastly more inferior than what we already had without anyone as much blinking an eye.Basically, he made calculations for Jyoti EVEN MORE complicated while making shit worse. Then I also pointed out how excavators were shittier than diggers when they were supposed to be better versions of diggers.I'm sorry that my efficiency 'obsession' is annoying you, but when we, since the start of the quest, have always had deficiency of metals I'd like to find ways to fix that problem. It's not even obsession, it's common sense and being economically responsible. Maybe being a business owner makes me more attentive to such details.
>>45674065More than likely when the current system becomes cumbersome the GM will stream-line by simply folding everything into a Planet / Asteroids / Tiers system, Planet X is Tier X and Produces X Amount flat.Because let's face it, when you don't have to worry about silly things like employment or scarce resources we will more than likely be spreading the latest and greatest resource providers across the entire Empire in one clean swoop, and thus the tiers would indicate infrastructure development.
>>45674065>people dont see the point in what your doing so they wonder at your reasonsI thought my reasons were simple. I just want us to mine as much Metal as possible because we are always lacking it.Biomass factories was someone else's idea. A good idea.It doesn't apply as much as to diggers and excavators because they do not compliment each other like catoblepas and kelp-vats. But I guess having 'mine' building with set amount of diggers and harvesters might work.
>>45674145So improving resource gathering methods and technologies would do what? Generate a universal +% bonus or something that modifies the production of a world based on the Tier / production value? How would differing planets and their resource extraction rates play in? Would it be like Planet X is Size X and has X atmosphere and X Biosphere so it either adds or detracts to the Tier X threshold and ultimately the X of metal and the X of biomass production?
>>45674219well different mineral levels could give minning output bonus's or minus's depending on the planet and say, natural difficulties due to the terrain or harsh conditions
>>45674250This is about stream-lining though, trimming the fat, so to speak, so flat numbers with percentage modifiers would be preferable.Like, I'm really, phenomenally bad at math, so it would hopefully go.Planet X +/- Size X +/- Tier X = X of Biomass and Metal production. But Biosphere X +/-% of Metal Production and Atmosphere X +/-% of Biomass production, while Tech/Research would give a flat bonus. So in the end it would be Planet X +/- Size X +/- Tier X = Flat Production X +/- Atmo-X% +/- BiosX% +/- UniversalTech/Research X% = True Production X.Hopefully it would be THAT simple instead of something like Aurora. Remember; Galactic Conquest is the name of the game.
Here, guys, a proposed mining operation building. This should be a research topic, imo, we're are basically building a massive extraction and refining factory. I propose that the crystal sponges also be used for the end product, so that we produce pure metal ore without any contamination. So, a single mine like this would have 200 diggers and 100 excavators.Cost would be 5,000B and 20,000M and it would produce 60,000MLess efficient than Omega harvester but much better than diggers and excavators individually. >>45674219>>45674325And they say I'm obsessed with efficiency and math...
>>45674428You don't understand, I am VERY awful at math.So awful in fact, there is no doubt within my mind that an American inner-city high-school student can outpace me at it.
>>45673949Have you not been paying attention to the posts where Jyoti describes the construction of any subterranean structure? Everything we've ever built underground, from the first bunker we built to Deep Rot's housing to the stonestar tunnels, has involved the diggers and excavators at every stage. >Naturally, they would have armed escorts with them or at least a terrodrome or two protecting the mining operation. So every single pound of ore we produce will need a constant escort of warships protecting it, when those ships could be defending sites that actually matter? What happens if we get attacked on multiple fronts and have to choose between defending our ship yards or the only source of metal we have? Your obsession with 'efficiency' aside, you haven't provided a single decent argument as to why we should completely scrap an incredibly reliable and very useful unit (crunch and fluff wise) only to over invest in an unproven and flawed mining method. I don't care if the diggers are marginally less efficient pound per pound, having a distributed list of units at every scale is important to our empire. There isn't a single reason Jyoti can't simply organize them into bulk 'mining armies' for convenience and streamline them as effectively as the fleets you keep going on about.
>>45674428Okay see, that's all we need to do if we want to streamline things. Just organize them into a large scale operation.
>>45674065Is that skeleton...blushing?>Nekris sending sparks between his thumbs upMax kek drawfag, keep up the amazing work.
>>45674065That pic is amazing
>>45674187The only reason we aren't bringing in as much metal as biomass on a daily basis is because we just made a shitload of catoblepas to make those biomass farms (which were created by diggers, incidentally). Increasing metal income to the same level as our biomass income is simply a matter of getting around to making enough relevant units.
>>45674471I don't know how much more argument you need than>we will go from producing 50700M/d to 128000M/d without spending a single centIf you are really don't see how the benefits vastly outweigh the risks, I don't know what to say.We would make 77300 more metal per turn. Using just a SINGLE turn worth of metal that we will mine more than before, we could build 90 battlecruisers.I suggested building 20 Omega fleets with the reclaimed resources. So each and every fleet could have an escort of 4 battlecruisers AND we would have 10 battlecruisers in reserve.Lets try to make a more balanced escort fleet: A single Omega Fleet consists of 31 ships (1 omega harvester and 30 harvester crafts). 20 fleets is 620 ships. So,20 Battlecruisers: 17000M20 Hangar Battlecruisers: 16200M300 Nail fighters: 19200M40 heavy cruisers: 25200Mtotal: 77600MSo yes, we could in fact protect each and every ship just by spending ONE TURN worth of EXTRA metal.JUSTONE TURNThis argument is kinda pointless as you forced me to come up with a compromise >>45674428But it is mighty annoying that you would try to bring me down without actually checking numbers yourself or seeing if your arguments hold any value>>45674704>(which were created by diggers, incidentally)What does this have to do with anything?Do you think I'm suggesting we wipe diggers from our collective memory and never, ever use them again?Do you people think that each and every time we construct something, we transfer diggers and excavators which are mining ore and put them to work on construction? Can anyone of you tell how many diggers and excavators are being used to build our capitol city? Or the Deep Rot? Or any other projects? That's right, you can't. Because it doesn't fucking matter, because it already happens in the BACKGROUND.
