Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, cleared the air with Gabby about his handsomeness, received his paycheck, planned out his next objective and achieved the next step of his journey in sorcery. Now, he witnesses the greatest mage duel he has ever seen.http://pastebin.com/W5vqnRBU (Character Sheet)http://pastebin.com/3LPDLd9u (NPCs)http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=lost+island

“The Art of Seduction Enchantment: Sex Magic.” As Eve finishes reading the title of the book Quissonce bolts after her. Eve retreats to jump on the bed while opening the book to the first few pages. “So we have charm person here, well that one isn't too scandalous.” Quissonce gives an exasperated scream as she reaches after to grab at Eve. Eve, still on the defensive, jumps off the foot of the bed and slides under the crawlspace beneath her bed. Quissonce gets on her hands and knees and reaches in for her, but Eve has managed to scoot her way away from any reaching hands.“Hmmm, we have anything better in here.” You hear Eve say at full blast to make sure you can still hear her from her defensive position. Quissonce starts to look around the room frantically. “Oh look, what is this? Seducer's Eyes! That looks like a fun one.” Quissonce has now managed to cast her 'hit Eve with a broom' spell and is stabbing the gnomish sorcerer with the bristly end, ruining her sanctuary.Eve scurries out under the front of the bed and dashed behind Quissonce, barely avoiding her grasp as she gets up off her knees to resume the chase. Eve runs around the central table and hides behind you for a second as she hums, flipping through the pages. “Ooooooh. Unnatural Lust? How unnatural are we talking here Quissonce?” Eve steps out from behind you holding the book as Quissonce dashes over and finally grabs it from Eve's hands. Quissonce quickly inspects it for damages before using it as a cudgel to hit Eve multiple times.Quissonce then turns to look at you, the blush on her face reaching Eve's hair levels of red. “I am not a pervert.”>I'm sure you aren't>Can I borrow that book?>How unnatural are we talking?

“I'm sure you aren't.” You say honestly. Looking around the room, Quissonce has upwards of 100 books in this room. One dubious one isn't too bad. It's not like every book in this room is about how a wizard could utilize magic to get laid or do weird creepy sex shit. However, you're curious about this Unnatural Lust spell. You lean in a bit towards Quissonce. “How unnatural are we talking?”The blush gets a bit deeper before she shakes her head and opens up the tome to the Unnatural Lust section. Eve's just looking at her, leaning on your chair, one part smug and one part curious. Quissonce quickly scans through the writings in the book, using her finger to guide her comprehension before slowly giving you the scoop.“Well, I'm not too familiar with it, since I only used this book to get an in-depth discourse on the charm person spell –”“Sure you did.” Eve interrupts her. Quissonce glares at her before going back to reading.“The spell allows you to manipulate one person and fill them with a strong desire to kiss or . . . molest one other person, creature or object of the caster's choice at the time of casting. The more unlikely the person is to kiss or molest this person, creature or object the easier it is for them to mentally resist the spell.” She looks up at you. “There. That's how unnatural. The more weak-willed your target, the more ridiculous an act you can force them to perform.”Eve's eyes suddenly grow wide and angry. “Hey, you weren't planning to interfere with our bet with those spells now were –” Quissonce's eyes grow wide herself as she looks from Eve to you and then back to Eve. Eve utters a sigh before putting her face in her hand. “I probably shouldn't have said that.”>What bet?>Just go back to your room>Can I borrow that book?

“What bet?” Quissonce sighs and gives Eve a very disapproving look. “Can you keep anything secret?”Eve shrugs. “What can I say? I'm not a subtle person. We tell him though and the bet's off, y'know.”Quissonce shakes her head. “Yes, I know.”You look between the two of them. “I don't want to know about his bet, do I?” Quissonce and Eve give each other a look. Quissonce elects to speak. “That . . . depends on your –”“Were you betting on who was going to pop my cherry?” Quissonce makes a sound like you just choked her as Eve gives you two quick claps.“Got it in one.” Eve sounds rather impressed. “Well, bet's been trashed. New bet Quissonce? Give it to him either or style?”Quissonce looks at Eve calculatingly. “Alright. 10 gold though.” Quissonce sticks out her hand and Eve shakes it. Quissonce grabs a chair and turns it around to sit on it with her arms resting on the back of it. Eve walks over to her. The two of them face you, determination plain on their faces.“So, Alan. >>44396442That was the point, maximum embarrassment and implications, even if they never pondered the question before. Gives us some material to bug them with later, like if they take a watch with that person making an off hand mention of this.
>>44396442>And a horse
>>44396368>RoweShe's not just beautiful but a independent person on itself, the way she moves in the forest with such confidence she shows her love for the wild so strongly she herself becomes a creature, not a best not a wild one, but a gracefull creature while she moves, a predatory look when she hunts. And the fact she is a pretty cool girl to talk too. I could never tell to Gabby the things about the war, and only Rowe would understand some of it. So i guess i see a kindred spirit in her.

>>44396542I don't think we, or Dolah wink wink, are on that whole abstinence thing. I'd take a guess how the great will might view casual boning but we're not a casual guy, too much hand holding (not the so depraved that vanilla romance is even more depraved kind) and spaghetti, so that's unlikely to ever come up.
>>44396611Still that would have been a good excuse to avoid the anwser.

You think for a bit. “Rowe, honestly. Kindred spirits.” Quissonce slaps the back of the chair with her hand. “I. FUCKING. CALLED. IT! You cannot top the half-elf booty. YOU. CAN. NOT!” Eve sighs and walks over to her desk. “You didn't call shit, Quissonce. Hypotheticals mean nothing to the real world. Nobody just has sex with who they want to. I'm telling you, Gabby is a corrupter. It'll happen.” She goes back to eating her sandwich sullenly.Quissonce looks to you. “Well, let's get back to actual important things.” You re-situate yourselves in your invisibility testing positions and cast again. Quissonce tries many more spell experiments that fail to do much of anything. When it wears off she asks if you have one more cast left in you. You nod that you think you do and she asks you to wait for some time while she sets up her best attempts yet.
When she assents for you to begin again, you invoke the power of your blood once more to bend the light around you. Quissonce tries something. It fizzles out. She makes a weird symbol with her hands and mutters some incantation before it devolves into a string of draconic swear words. She tries one more thing and you can tell quickly it is related to the divination school of magic. She looks at you and her eyes grow wide.“I did it. You're visible.” You look down at yourself. “No I'm not.” Eve looks over from her desk. “Yeah, he's still invisible.”Quissonce just seems to tremble with even more joy as she begins transcribing from the crumpled scrap of paper that her notes for that spell were on into her spellbook. “Well I can see you.” You give her something to prove she's not bullshitting. She looks up at you and flips you the bird right back. Seems she's right. Whatever she just cast is letting her pierce your illusions. She closes up her spellbook and thanks you for donating your time to help her move forward with her own magical investigations.>Go to sleep>Ask them who they would sleep with among your crew>Ask to borrow that book>Bond with Muffin

You go to Eve and acquire your Muffin from her before retreating back to your own room. Ed has finally returned and is sleeping peacefully in his bed. You get ready for sleep as well and let Muffin out of his satchel so you can feed him. You give him some fruit and nuts and he begins to chow down on your desk. You look at him as he does this. Muffin is supposed to be your familiar, right? I mean, he's obviously a smart animal. He was able to contact Eve to get help when you needed it. And he is a cool pet to have. But, you don't know, it just doesn't feel as magical as Quissonce made the supposed connection out to be.Familiars are supposed to be animals whose souls and that of their master's are linked. There is meant to be a connection. You should be able to feel through Muffin's presence. And yet, when Muffin gets out of sight from you you lose track of him entirely. The only thing bringing him back is the fact that you feed him as far as you can tell. You pet him while he eats. He doesn't really respond, more focused on feeding himself than on you. Hmmm, what if? No. No. But maybe . . .
So that touch power of yours. That is you donating some small essence of the powers you've taken from others and channeling it into the person you touch. Now, you aren't planning on giving your flying squirrel here the ability to punch really fast, but what if you did something similar. Tweaked it a little. Instead of donating the powers of others, allow a bit of your own Alan-ness to flow into Muffin. Maybe make a little Muffin flow into you. You close your eyes and focus on your bloodline. You channel some small fragment of your blood, your essence, your personhood into your finger and start to chant a bit to center yourself enough to play with the roiling energy inside you without it dissipating. You focus on it, stripping away all the others inside your concentrated energy. No Calloway, no Eve, no Gabby. Just Alan. And you pet Muffin. Like a lightning rod it flows into him and you can feel a slight amount of this tiny, sentient creature's life force slide into you.You recoil your hand. Muffin looks at you. You look at him. He wants more food. You give him some more food. He thanks you and then decides you should go to sleep. You agree. You go to bed and sleep while Muffin curls himself on top of you. You wake up together at four in the morning. Muffin goes to get more food while you pray to The Great Will and then study your spellbook. Muffin hops into your satchel and you're good to go.You're supposed to head around at eight, so you have two hours to do something if you wish.>Browse the shops for something to buy or sell>Hang out with one of your teammates (who?)>Ask Quissonce and Eve about flying>Go talk to Gilda about orcs

Well this is going to be your hardest job yet and you have money burning a hole in your pocket. Better to spend it now so you don't die rich. You head back to the shopping district of Seaside and honestly, you don't see much that you think you really need in terms of mundane equipment. You still need to buy some more rations for yourself and Tornado, but other than that you're feeling like you've got what you need. You check in on that shop run by that goblin again. Seeing as he seems to have some magical equipment, you figure he's the best bet for finding something to give you that edge. He looks as unenthusiastic at seeing you as always. You ask after any magical goods he may have in stock and he sighs before hopping off his stool and heading into the back.He comes back and throws two things on the counter. A quiver and a scabbard. He clears his throat before regaling you with their qualities.“The quiver has some sort of extra-dimensional ability to store equipment. It can carry sixty arrows, eighteen javelins and six weapons. You buy it and I'll throw 40 arrows and 18 javelins in with your purchase. Any weapon stored in the scabbard can be drawn from it once a day with some magical enhancements to it, making the bite of the blade much more vicious. The more power you try to draw from it the shorter the effect lasts. I'm selling both for 1800 gold a piece.” Before you can start to speak he cuts you off. “No haggling.”Hmmm. Space has been getting to be an issue considering how much equipment you have to carry now. But that sword also looks really good. You could technically afford both, but you'd be left with one gold piece to your name. If you want to buy both, you're most likely going to need to sell something.>Buy the scabbard>Buy the quiver>Buy both>Buy neitherAND>2. Sell your revolver (Y/N) (200 gold)>3. >>44398042>Buy both>2. Sell your revolverY
>>44398042>Buy bothI feel like selling the only gun we've seen since getting on this island is a mistake.
>>44398113Its not even a good gun and if we are buying both 200 gold is a good safety net for random things we might need.
If we sell this revolver then we must find another 6 shooter later.
>>44398186If we didn't know magic or were so awesome with a bow I would agree. And as an item its not that unattainable. Remember it was of lesser quality too. Maybe if we train and get good with guns we can buy a nice one later, but in general anything handheld from before casings were used is not so OP, especially compared to bows or freaking MAGIC, which we posses.
>>44398237Even if it is hand packed that's 6 rounds you can get downrange in the time it takes to release a single arrow. A revolver is also a lot smaller than even the most compact bow.
>>44398237It also depends on the caliber, you know. And don't forget, we could enchant revolvers with magic later.
You tell him you want both, but offer to throw in your revolver to take off some of the cost. He grabs it and inspects it before calling it a piece of junk. But it works, and a piece of junk gun is still worth a nice chunk of change. He offers to take 275 gold off the asking price for the gun and the bullets. You dump most of your money out for him to count while you take and play with the scabbard and the quiver. The quiver it seems, you just have to imagine what you want to take out and that's what you'll grab when you reach in. That's a bit trippy. And the goblin just gave it you like it was nothing. Unflappable. The scabbard doesn't seem to work. The goblin looks up at you and tells you that for it to work you have to make a 'SCHWING' noise, like a sword grinding on metal. The louder you make the sound the stronger and shorter the magical enhancement will last. Odd and it means you can't use it stealthily, but that's a small price to pay for the ability to make any weapon deadlier when you need to. When the goblin has been assured the required amount of pay has been given, he ushers you out of the shop.Y'know, you've literally given that goblin enough gold to retire. Why is he still running that shop and why is he such a dick? Whatever. You make your way to the eastern gate you will be leaving Seaside by. You see the rest of your party is prepared for what's about to come. And they seem to have come to similar decisions themselves. A quick detect magic confirms your suspicions about some of their new, shiny looking equipment. Rowe has a new bow which has a magical aura. Dolah's shiny new armor has an aura. Kyra's sheathed katana has a magical aura. Quissonce's fancy ring, Eve's ruby-studded headband and Gabby's . . . arm? All seem to be magic. Gale, who's accompanying you is wearing that magic breastplate of his as well. >Head out now>Ask Gabby about her arm>Climb a tree and glide>Ask someone else about their new magic toy (who?)
>>44398273>>44398295With our skill on the bow we could possibly get two arrows off especially if aim came into it (One area where a pistol would be very nice is that close range goodness where aim is not so much a factor). And you can probably enchant a bow too. That said though you guys are right, there is so much we can do with guns and they can be super useful and fill certain niches better than many other competitors (A rifle with bayonet can be surprisingly good in close quarters, and revolvers would simply be amazing, especially with canister shot.). Yet it is, by description, a poorly made/unreliable revolver we don't know how to use well, and we could use that money right now with our dangerous mission with useful items. We can buy another later, they're not rare. That was my main point.

You quickly purchase some rations for yourself and Tornado and set your gear atop your horse. You give Rowe the signal that you're ready to leave and you all move out. Blackburn makes his appearance before you go and wishes you all luck. Rowe explains that it's going to take your group about three days of riding to approach the Forest Hunter village. From there you'll have to take your stealthiest group members and watch the camp to look for any hunting parties leaving. After taking them out some distance from the village, you'll gather the rest of the crew and figure out the next step. As your adventuring party begins its journey across the plains you trot Tornado up to Gabby's horse.“Hey Gabby. What's with your arm?” You point at her right arm. She looks over at you in confusion before staring down at it. Then a look of realization passes over her. “Oh. You must be sensing the magic of it or whatever.” She grabs the sleeves of her robe and slides it up her arm. The inked image of two snakes coiled with each other in some sort of locked combat adorns her arm. “Decided to get tatted up. Motherfucker who does it charged a fortune, but he does stellar work. They even wrestle a bit when I flex.” She then flexes her muscles some and the snakes seem to writhe and wriggle as she does so. It has the faint aura of a conjuration spell, but other than that you don't know what it does. You get paired up with Gale when it comes to your sleeping arrangements. Quissonce volunteers to provide look-out for practically the entire night except for one hour, which you are immediately volunteered to cover for since you also only require four hours of sleep. That still leaves you three hours every night to do whatever you want. >Find a tree and try to practice gliding>Scribe some spells from Quissonce's spellbook>Meditate on your bloodline by cutting yourself>Something else? Alright time to try this out. You stealth your way away from camp to a nearby tree. Quissonce didn't seem to notice you move past her. That might reflect badly on her ability as a look-out, but that's an issue to ponder for another time. There aren't too many trees in the plains and the ones that are are these great big ones with big, bushy tops like mushrooms for a canopy. You climb your way up to the top of it and are sure to let Muffin out of his satchel. He crawls out and quickly scampers among the branches of the tree. You nod your head at him and get him to demonstrate a bit for you. He glides off the tree and goes to the ground. He scampers back up and does it again. You watch him do this about twenty times before you feel like you might have picked up on it.You lack the physical flaps to pull it off as well as he can, but maybe you can utilize the drag of your cloak a bit or something to catch some of the air to help you glide to the ground. Worth a shot right? And if this is stupid and fails, you can heal yourself up almost instantaneously. Well, here goes nothing.
HOLY SHIT YOU ARE FUCKING RETARDED WHY DID YOU JUMP OFF A TREE GOD FUCKING DAMNIT! You find yourself sliding down the tree using your hand to slow your fall by creating friction against it to counteract gravity enough to not break your goddamned legs. This ability shouldn't work but it does so fuck it you're using it to not fuck yourself up permanently. You make it to the bottom with your body in tact but your dignity absolutely gone.Shit, your hand hurts like a bitch. It's covered in splinters and you look up to see bark has been ripped off the tree by you in your scramble for purchase to save yourself from looking like an idiot. You hate looking like an idiotAlthough you definitely are a fucking idiot. Who the fuck jumps off a tree for funsies. Oh shit, you're Alan right now aren't you? Oh, this is gonna be fucking great when you point out what a dumb piece of shit he is. Wait, you won't know about this will you? Well, time to fuck with him. “I'm so cute!” You say out loud. “HAHAHAHA! How the fuck am I able to do this?!” You raise your hands and look at them. Alan's hands alright.Time to think something he won't ever forget. WOW, ALAN IS SO HANDSOME AND RUGGED AND MASCULINE. I JUST WANT TO COOK HIM DINNER AND SUCK HIS – And that thought is going to be tucked away in a rarely-accessed corner of your mind where you will never touch it ever again. How was she able to do that? You also need to bat away the many images of you in a pretty pink dress that Gabby-you managed to drop on you near the end of that mental torrent. You lean against that tree and slide to a sitting position. You hope beyond all hope that nobody heard you say anything. “Alan? What's going on out there?” Quissonce has moved from her spot near the small campfire to looking at where you are sitting by the tree. “Is everything alright?” >What do you say?

>>44399616>>What do you say?I'm ok. I was just testing something.
I JUST WANT TO COOK HIM DINNER AND SUCK HIS –God fucking dammit Gabby
>>44399616>Just trying out a new ability, how much did you hear? Ask this curiously, after all how could we ever be embarrassed around Q with what we've seen.
>we couldn't flyget a feeling so complicated
“I'm OK. I was just testing something out. All good.” You give her a thumbs up. “Okay Alan.” She turns to leave before one last thing comes to you.“Wait, Quissonce.” She stops. “Did you hear anything?” She looks at you puzzled. “I heard you say you were cute and then laugh hysterically. I assume it has something to do with that inside joke of yours.”You point at her. “Exactly. I was just remembering and laughing at that old inside joke.” You get up and prepare yourself for the rest of this long, very long, oh so long day. The next few days of travel blend together. While you didn't pick up how to glide like a flying squirrel, most likely because it's impossible, you did remember that trick Gabby-you pulled off and spend the rest of your time free perfecting it, incorporating a little of Muffin's gliding skills into slowing your descent even further. Although you know it's impossible, you can't help but glance over at Gabby every once in a while. No one must ever learn about what happened that night. You look at Muffin. He knows! You suppress your urge to kill the witness. Muffin assures you he's got your back to the end of time as long as you keep the treats flowing. Maybe pick up some plums for him. He likes those.
You finally reach the spot where Rowe has your group dismount. The plan is to have the stealthiest among you watch the village until they send out a hunting party and then ambush that once it make it a bit far from the rest of the orcs. Afterwards you're going to come back to pick up the rest of your group and either sneak in some more while the noisier ones hang back or rush in to wipe out the rest of the orcs. The biggest issue is you don't know how many days it may take for the right moment to occur when it comes to the hunting party. They might not send one out every day. You do not know how long you will have to keep yourselves hidden. Also every person you send adds to the chance of you all being spotted while you observe the orc village. So, who are you sending to wait for the orc hunting party?>Yourself (Y/N)>Rowe (Y/N)>Kyra (Y/N)>Gabby (Y/N)Regardless, roll 1d100, best of 3.If you want to add any addendum or change something about your current plan, feel free to voice an opinion.
Rolled 63 (1d100)>>44400076
>>44400076Rowe is obvious.Kyra or us.
Rolled 96 (1d100)>>44400076>Yourself (Y/N)>Rowe (Y/N)>Kyra (Y/N)I guess these are the most stealthy in the group
>>44400107Let's go with Kyra, she's supposed to be sneaky, right?
Rolled 51 (1d100)>>44400076YYYN
Rolled 26 (1d100)>>44400076>Yourself N>Rowe Y>Kyra Y>Gabby N
Alright, so Kyra and Rowe are definitely going. One last vote on whether Alan should go too.>Y>NRegardless, this will be my last post of the night. I'll run tomorrow at 2pm starting in a new thread. Sorry, family dinner thing sort of sprung up. I hate ending threads on such a blase note. Hopefully this will not happen again.Have a good night and I hope you all had happy holidays.
>>44400273>>YI mean we actually can turn invisible unlike the others
>>44400273>NThree people is too much.
>>44400273>YWe need less sleep and can turn invisible, have the cloak, and speak orc. That last point is important!
>>44400273Thanks you wonderful person!
>>44400273>>YWe have the skillset for that
>>44400273>>NNo worries Trick. It was fun as always.
For those saying No can I ask why? We have the skill set and equipment and you realize the stealth party is going to ambush the hunting party without back up right?
>>44400484Well the more people going the greater the risk and no the scouting party isn't going to be ambusing the hunters.
>>44400520>The plan is to have the stealthiest among you watch the village until they send out a hunting party and then ambush that once it make it a bit far from the rest of the orcs. Afterwards you're going to come back to pick up the rest of your group.>AfterwardsYes they are.
>>44400520The scouting group is going to ambush anon.2 people, as competent as they are might need a little help with a whole hunting party. An extra bow outweighs the risk of being seen.
>>44400545Even then. Kyra and Rowe are both highly capable and more specialized to ambushes.
>>44400603Christ anon. Stealth is our second highest skill, we have our new cloak, we speak Orc, we can turn invisible.I am really not seeing why you are so adamant about Alan not going when he is good at this. The dude killed the enemy in their camps back when he was in the war.
>>44399616So we don't just get their mindset, we actually become someone else. Yeah, it was a bit odd before, but this is just fucking weird. That whole self-awareness thing shouldn't be a thing if we are just becoming -like- someone, that was flat out Gabby talking, not Alan being almost Gabby.Fucking weird shit and shit, man, shit.
>>44400650I think our Gabby copy is only aware because we told her how the power works.
>>44400646I'm not against Alan going I'm against three people going in.
>>44400273YBecause two people against an orc hunting party is really stupid since these aren't mainland orcs but 7 foot tall supersoldier Uruk-Hai.
>>44401929Well you were two hours late, but I need a tie-breaker.Alan is going!
