>(Previous Threads)http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Journal+of+the+Occult>(Character Sheets)http://pastebin.com/46DXX5zq~You take in a long breath, hold it, and exhale before carefully folding the maimed arms of the corpse and then picking it up.There’s still plenty blood within the small body, best not to let it go to waste.Your dagger plunges through the chest, easily slicing skin, crunching through bone, until it reaches its target. You leave it there to tap the well of power, and rise to your feet, holding your final weapon. The dark and silent abyss behind you beckons through its sheer existence, yet you turn not to it, but to the obscured volume of space where Ali once stood. It would be easy enough to leave her there, but as you laid dying on the ground, you derived the only possible explanation for how Ali was able to skillfully manipulate all those she needed to. However, there remains two questions that you can’t solve just yet, and your curiosity beckons.Ali shakily stumbles upon her legs as you release your bridge realm. Her eyes quickly focus upon your recovered form, and the weapon that you hold in your arms. Your own eyes focus upon the still wet splattering of Azalie’s blood over her body and the weapon she still clutches in her right hand. “That’s no longer going to do you any good.” Her hand lingers for a moment, before she eventually drops the weapon to the ground. [1/2]
>>43876228You return your gaze to her. “I would clap for you if I could…” You briefly raise the corpse in your arms. “You were a nearly perfect director after all.”“I did not consider that you’d be foolish enough to use your own blood to attack me.” She stares at you with emotionless eyes. “You were nothing if not self-interested but…”“Impatient as well, something you should’ve really considered in the final act of your play.” You smile. “Yet, you are correct about the self-preservation.”Anger flickers upon her face. “Is that all he ever was to you? Just a tool for your own ends?” Her hand twitches and her foot digs into the ground. You know why she asks, but this is no longer in her hands. Now there only remains how to squeeze out the two final answers you seek to your questions of, "Since when?" and... discovering what the other side of relationship perceives.>Ignore her question.>”Of course.”
>>43876297>>Ignore her question.
>>43876297>”Of course. Was Vicki any different for you?”HIDE THE TEARS
>>43876297No, I loved him like a brother, which is why after I kill you, I will destroy your legacy. Every single bit of it, as painfully as possible.
>>43876297>"Of course."Aw man here we go.
Welcome back everyone to the final thread! What an interesting journey this has been.As we progress through, please tell me if you have any questions especially pertaining to what's going on at the moment. Needless to say, there will be time at the end of this for any question that you might have, but if you feel you can't wait, then go ahead and ask.>>43876316>>43876361Naturally.>Writing!
>>43876480Your smile widens, knowing just what words will cut the deepest. “Of course.”Her hands shake with unprecedented wrath, but she manages to hold off her true thoughts by remaining silent. You press on this obviously sore matter. “Did you ever think it was any different? But why would you?...” You turn to the charred remains of your former enemy. “You were so viciously abrupt with killing Azalie, but you wanted to witness my slow death. Your smile widens. “I wonder why she was different.”The sheer agony that she has to go through to keep her composure is almost a tangible force. Her actions alone seem to give away the answer to one of your questions already. You advance slowly in a circle around her. “So how was it to kill your creator? How was it to think about killing her for months…?” You look over her shaking body. “For years? Since we first found you? Or maybe some time after that?”“ENOUGH!” [1/2]
>>43877253An outburst of raw violet energy surges toward you, but a wave of your own grey flames consumes it.You continue as if nothing happened. “Since it’s been years, but it hasn’t been since the very beginning, then the thought must’ve arisen at first possible opportunity…” You think for but a moment before finding the answer. “Which would leave our first failed delve.”You recall the event. How you forced Ali to be the test subject, how you held her under the blood for but a few seconds before she scrambled from your grasp, and fled screaming in horror. Outwardly she would never personally deal with matters of the Occult, but it was then the spark was lit.You sigh in satisfaction. “That’s quite a long time to be carrying such a burden.” You stop just a few feet away from her. “And all that to fix the human realm by getting rid of the others?”“And to be rid of people like you.” She quietly states. You scoff loudly. “You are just like me, and you are just like her.” You point to the charred corpse. “Don’t attempt to hide behind some farce of goodness. You helped us along all the way, and that makes you just like us.”She stands still, completely unwilling to answer you anymore. So you step back from her.“It’s all over. You made a single mistake. You failed to kill me, you robbed me of the greatest asset I ever had, and now it’s all over.” You move to finish it all when a single figure rushes past you and latches herself to Ali’s legs. “Please. J-just let us leave. I promise we won’t try to stop you. So…Please.” Vicki sobs into Ali’s legs.Unmoving, you stare at Ali and she stares back the same.>Write in.

>>43877654To live with her failure and betrayal is far worse than giving her the release of death.“Go.” You state simply. “And know that if you try to stop me in any way, you will both have to watch each other die."Ali’s eyes linger on your on your own, as Vicki desperately moves to tug her away from the area. “You can’t bring him back.” Ali states knowingly before disappearing from sight. You look toward the sky where the birds circle aimlessly without the chorus of voices to lead them. “Better hurry.” You warn them quietly. As you approach the dark abyss, the ever-present light of the realm hangs low on a far off horizon. The warm orange light washes over you as you approach the threshold.Instinctually, you try to push past the dark barrier, but it rejects access to the object you still hold in your arms. One last obstacle. You rest the body against the tower as gently as you can, letting it be warmed by the low orange light. You fix the corpse’s soft hair, try to hide the grievous injuries on it, and stare upon it for a very, very long time....Nothing you’ve ever done has taken as much willpower as it took to finally pull your gaze away from that small body, and move into the dark abyss.~[1/2]
>>43878524You continue to move through the endless stretch of cold blue-white emptiness. Time has been lost to you since you crossed through the dark abyss and into here, so all there is left is to press on.Brief flashes of never before seen realms appear at random, just long enough for you to see a glimpse of the terrible beings that reside within.Suddenly, the nothingness around you is replaced with a vast plain with boundless dark clouds in every direction. A single small figure wrapped in a white robe approaches you. A strange construct hangs behind her and pulses with great energy. The small figure removes the hood of her white robe, and you instantly recognize it to be the young girl who once dwelled within your mind. She smiles warmly as she recognizes you as well, and then looks past you expectantly. You shake your head. Her face becomes sullen, but she quickly accepts the truth. “Which way did you enter?” She asks without opening her mouth. The path lies directly behind you, but for whatever reason, she can’t seem to perceive that fact.>Write in.

I would have voted to brand Ali with an "I", and send her straight to Matthias/Aya to tell them what she did. If she lies, she'll have just dug herself deeper.
>>43878849You know they'd probably congratulate her. They hate us.
>>43878971>congratulate her for getting Izu killedwe just spared Aya AND sent Justina to have Matthias' limbs worked on. I think they've had some time to think about things.
>>43879038Yeah, time to think about how we killed thousands. They hate Justina too, and bringing back a few limbs won't change anything.
>>43879140We were under Azalie's thumb, guess what the second we weren't we dropped from mega bitch to just unpleasant.

>>43879501I don't think we've ever caused anyone excessive harm. We've tortured one guy, and that was mostly verbal. The rest we've given quick deaths.Killing a lot of people is not immediately grounds for war crimes. >>43879672We wiped out an entire town dude, innocent civilians and all.
>>43879672Pretty much all of that was solider fighting though.
>>43878796The way back is easy enough to follow, and maybe you can get some information about this place in exchange.“I can show you, if you want to leave.” You tell her without needing to speak. You’re about to turn to look back when you notice she’s waving her hand dismissively.“Thank you for letting me know which way, but I can go by myself.” She smiles politely.“Then, will you answer a few of my questions before you go?” You ask.“Of course.” She nods happily.“What is this place?” You look around, trying to perceive past the strange clouded plains. She grabs her chin looking for a way to explain. “The realms you lived in are the ground, and this is the sky.” She nods as if satisfied by the explanation. “It’s really rare that a mortal even gets to see the sky.”You furrow your brow, causing her to continue.“From the sky, the ground is ruled. In the sky, we are not constricted. Beyond the sky…” She tries to find the words, but it’s as if it’s beyond her comprehension to explain the last point. “The caretaker can explain better.” She shrugs, and behind her. “That’s the place you’ve been looking for.”You accept her words and the two of you bid your farewells. You’re about to move on, but you turn back to ask her one more question. “Do you think he can be brought back?”She sighs quietly. “I don’t know. I hope so.” She smiles deviously. “It’s going to be a much more boring place without him.”~[1/2]
>>43880018The blue-white abyss keeps you company until you reach what you’ve been searching for so long. A sheer white throne sits far before you, and next to it stands a void in the general shape of a human being.“So the time has finally come.” It speaks with a great authoritative voice. “This sphere of existence has gone far too long without a ruler. The greater beings have become restless without direction.”“So here…” You look upon the throne that’s carved perfectly for your form.“This is where you will ascend, young mortal.” It replies. “This is where you will guide this sphere as you see fit.”“And the knowledge to control it all?” You ask, transfixed.“Will be yours. You will be able to see the grand scheme, and all the lesser unimportant nuances of mortality will fall by the wayside.” It explains. You press forward. “I will be able to shape it as I wish, I’ll be able to bring back what was los-““What is lost, is lost. Your duty is to look forward for this sphere of existence.” It interrupts. You turn to it, no longer transfixed on the throne. “Those limitations are disappointing.” You state frankly. “Limitations?” It asks, audibly angered. “You will be the god of this sphere!”“Meaning there are others?” You press. Its frustration in you grows. “Your duty is here, to this-“ “Enough.” You silence him. “I have not come this far to be told by a lesser being what I should be doing.”First you look back from where you came, then you look at the throne, and then you look beyond.Time to make your decision. >Write in.

>>43880235“Tell me caretaker, were you always here, watching over this throne?” You ask.It sighs quietly. “There was once a time I was a mortal as well.” It thinks for a long while before continuing. “The memories are faint, but I know that I chose this position on my own volition.”“But there were other things that you wanted?” You push on.“Of course.” It replies simply, and is silent as it finally understands your meaning.“Then tell me, is there more to know in these other spheres.” You ask, looking beyond the throne.“It is almost certain.” It answers dutifully. “I’ve never ventured beyond this point to find out, and I never will.”“And just as from this throne, one would govern those other spheres from their own?” You cross your arms, thinking of the possibilities. “Yes.” It quietly states. Meaning that all those individuals would have their own set of knowledge, ripe for the picking. And beyond that, there’s possibly something that rules over them all. You turn and sense beings that would be considered gods in the realms you came from simply occupying the nearby vast expanse. Their existence in this place is not quite fully perceivable, yet.“Well…” You stare at the throne. “I don’t have to remain sitting in it to keep the power, right?”“It will be permanently imbued as part of your being.” It answers, disappointment clear in its voice. “You will ascend from your mortal form, and fully be able to sense what’s truly around you now.”But, there’s no looking back. Once you ascend, the realms you once occupied will become like grains of sand. Observable, controllable, but most certainly not your domain.>Write in.

Your perception warps and evolves as the shackles of your mortal mind are cast aside. A seemingly endless ocean of knowledge floods into you as absorb and consider every single bit at stunning speed. You exist beyond anything you’ve ever encountered before, and you still keep advancing. ~There exists no words for the being that you are now. To call you a god would capture only an iota of your magnificence.A small voice, a fragment of a fragment, the lowest but most precious form of existence rings out in your mind as you finally reach the end of your ascension, and are able to perceive it.“Now you know, just what you were to me.” The voice laughs mischievously.~FIN

That concludes Journal of the Occult Quest. Above all else, I want to thank everyone who played at any point throughout this quest! I watched many people come and go, but still my gratitude goes out to them. These last few threads have made me realize something about myself as a QM, but I will save that for the end.For now, if you have any questions about the quest, I will do my best to answer them all.
>>43881887It was fun, wish Izu could have made it though.Replace this scumbag next to us.
>>43881887thx 4 runin budi gud questWhat did Izu write in the journal? We never got to read it.
>>43881967>>43881887This, we should know now that we're a god.
>>43881887How's Ali, Matthias, Aya, Justina, Laurent, Vicki, and that one shadow prentice doing?Did Sophia do anything to whatever scraps of Ellie were left? Was Azalie actually going to be benevolent, but fail once her morality was stripped of her?
>>43881887Was that Izu?What was in the Journal? All the survivors reactions? How fucked are the realms?Who were the previosu 2 entities we talked too?Izu, Ellie and Marissa all perma gone? Will Sophia fix anything? What'd we loose on the world when we showed it the way?
>>43881810It's very much as >>43881831 summed up. Think of the voice itself as something you could not perceive until that moment of ascension, and think of the words themselves as an answer to the question How do the viviogenisis creations perceive their creators, and more importantly how did Izu see Sophia?>>43881952It was fun for me too! There's always more to know. And bringing him back will be one of the foremost things Sophia pursues.>>43881967You're very welcome! That is the one thing I'm still wondering if I should reveal...
>>43881887What would have happened if we just accepted the seat of Empress and never went after Azalie again?
>>43882045plz do.Unless your gonna run a sequel. That'd be pretty fun.
>>43881967>>43881983I'm wondering if I should reveal it, more out of a sort of mischievous sort of homage to Izu. Did anyone catch any of the notes that were left by him well before all this?>>43881985Character questions, I'll put in a summary post later on. Ellie's body was left there. Azalie was truly going to be benevolent to the best of her ability, but it was too late for her because of the corruption you had put inside her.>>43882001Yes, that was Izu. See the top. The survivors are all mainly just trying to put their lives back together, if you're referring to humans. It's not a positive outlook overall, but there has been much worse. One was the caretaker, formally the original leader of the groups that rallied against the ancient beings, and progenitor of the Caelumnites. The other was the combined form of the fragment that was once inside your mind, and the true being that it belonged to, which was the main enemy of the original inhabitants of the inner realms. You should it the way out, but it's different than it once was.Technically, if Sophia finds the knowledge that she seeks, none of them are permanently gone. But off them all, I would say that Ellie is the least permanently gone, in the current state, which would put Marissa and Izu permanently gone. She'll fix what's in her best interest to fix. >>43882046Ali would have found different means of reaching the final realm, killed off Azalie, ascended, and gotten rid of everything that had to do with the outer and inner realms.
>>43882302>Did anyone catch any of the notes that were left by him well before all this?Just a few quips, nothing super recent.>Ali would have found different means of reaching the final realm, killed off Azalie, ascended, and gotten rid of everything that had to do with the outer and inner realms.Damn that is some devotion. What made Ali so different from Izu? What caused her lack of devotion to the Usurper? What did she see when we made her delve?
>>43882302>The other was the combined form of the fragment that was once inside your mind, and the true being that it belonged to, which was the main enemy of the original inhabitants of the inner realms. You should it the way out, but it's different than it once was.Ellie's influence I take it?Why did Azalie let Ali go? What was Vicki to Ali, her daughter?Matthias's, Aya's, Ali's, and Vicki's thoughts on how this turned out?
>>43882381The difference between Ali and Izu, was that Ali was abandoned. When she was created, she was actually younger than Sophia was at the time (3 years old), and Azalie didn't have a use for her, nor did she want to be a god in anyone's eyes until she actually reached her goals. She was supposed to die, but eventually reached the human realm, where she suffered many hardships further warping the subconscious relationship she had with Azalie. When she finally made her first delve, all of those latent thoughts came to the surface and she had a lot to process.>>43882424No actually, The Dreamer is a separate being than this one. This one was changed because of your fragment within it.See above. Vicki was just an orphan who really really came to love Ali, and Ali was more than willing to foster that emotion to help her reach her own goals, but she did have feelings of her own for her.Matthias and Aya are conflicted to how to feel about your disappearance. They both adamantly disapprove of your past actions, but chose to let the hate go as there was no reason to hold on to it since you were gone. They instead turned to focus on their new responsibility...Vicki is simply glad that Ali lived throughout it all. More to be learned when I finish this character summary, hopefully shortly.
>>43882534If we had chosen the ring over Izu, would he have hated us like that? What became of Laurent? Justina? Grievy? What are Ali and Vicki going to do now?
>>43882613It wasn't a guarantee, but it was a possible path that I had in mind for his character.Character summary will be posted, hopefully soon!
>>43882643What kind of magic did the Empress know? What alternate paths were there for us aside from pyromancy? How are you so good at this?
>>43882758She was versed in almost all other than plain delving. Her specialties were Kinetic and Wave Manipulation. All paths were technically available for you to master, but pyromancy was simply one of the first.I don't know what you mean, but if you're referring to answering questions promptly, then I will have to disagree!

Realized the truth just as she was defeated by Sophia and then committed suicide.Carmina: Was tricked by Azalie/Sayuline into thinking that she’d be summoning The Broodmother into the world. Plots its next move within the inner realms. The Chosen One: Ruled over his small patch of the human realm for a few years until he was eventually betrayed by one of his own lieutenants, and killed.Carmina: Was tricked by Azalie/Sayuline into thinking that she’d be summoning The Broodmother into the world. A fragment of her remained in The Maw, but disillusioned with her existence, she eventually succumbed to collective consciousness of The Maw.The Broodmother: One of the original beings, she took upon the displaced humans to ease their suffering, But, having realized the futility of her actions throughout time, she allowed herself to be killed by Sophia and Azalie to finally be at peace.Grievermillion: Dutiful servant to Sophia. Having exhausted himself greatly after the ritual binding of The Dreamer, he passed away mainly due to his old age, peacefully knowing that he had served to the best of his ability.
>>43883251Justina: Master Necromancer. Lingered in Kyraen’Asils for a few weeks before eventually being chased away by the army. No records of her name show up after that, but children in every realm would always disappear without any signs. Laurent: Former Guardian. Helped in the reconstruction efforts in the human settlements, but following the discovery of the true nature of the Chosen One, he attempted to rout out the corrupted leadership, only to be chased out of the human camps by those who once worked alongside him. She was never able to escape what she described as the ugliness of the world and still lingers within the grasp of The Dreamer, tormented by him constantly.Marissa: An orphan that was constantly used for the gains of others. Haunted by her past abuse, and deeply saddened that she did not have a place to belong in the world, she chose to kill herself at Sophia’s hands.Matthias: The childhood friend of Sophia. After having his limbs healed by Justina, he took upon the proper role of King of Kyraen’Asils, and father to his new daughter. Many conflicting emotions remained within him. He wanted to see his old friend again, perhaps to punch her right in the face, or to have a simple chat. He eventually decided it was best to just forget about her all together.Aya: Daughter of the Former King of Kyraen’Asils. Recovered from her injuries in the weeks following, and brought back Kyraen’Asils to proper order. Gave birth to a daughter a few months later, and was thankful for her existence. Her hatred lessened for Sophia over the years, but she would never speak of her again.
>>43883301Azalie: One of the Orginal beings: Deeply hated the ancient beings for the torment they unleased upon all mortals. Sought desperately to ascend to be rid of all of those harmful beings and improve the inner realms as best she could. Her mind was greatly corrupted by Sophia and could no longer remember why she had come so far, but only blindly pursued her lifelong goal, until being killed by Ali.Vicki: Lost Orphan, Teleporting Master. Was able to barely escape the final realm with Ali at her side. She helped Ali through the deep depression that she went through following the events inside the final realm. Eventually the both returned to the human realm, where they ventured as far away from the market as they could.Ali: Controller of All, Azalie’s Viviogenisis Creation: Deeply depressed not only due to the fact of her failure, but due to her murdering Azalie. Contemplated suicide for several weeks following, but Vicki’s devotion helped pull away from those thoughts. Moved far away in the human realm, where she uses her talents to improve the lives of those around her as she had once.
>>43883340Izu: Sophia's Viviogenisis Creation: Died in the final realm, saving the one he loved.

If you're still around, then I commend you for your patience! If you have any questions about what I just posted, or anything else for that matter, please feel free to post it in the thread.
>>43883408Wouldn't Sophia smack the Dreamer upside the head and take Ellie from him? Couldn't she recreate Izu as her herald since she can still "hear" him?
>>43883408Could Sophia have ever trained in non-magical combat? Was the final realm planned to be no-army fight from the start?
>>43883408That was impressively thorough. What does it mean to be an Original Being like the Broodmother or Azalie? Why is the Dreamer such a jerk?
>>43883408What was the powerup that Izu got?
>>43883429She could, if she actually cared to. She could make something very similar to Izu, but not Izu himself.>>43883441Yes, it would've helped in numerous situations. The final realm was supposed to be no army from the start, but how you got there was certainly capable of a massive army vs army battle.>>43883471Upon the advent of the inner realms, there existed numerous beings that came into existence after the ancient ones. As they advanced, they soon came under assault from the ancient ones and many of them perished following the sealings. Those that remained were the progenitors of all the inner realm inhabitants and considered to be an original. It's simply in its nature.>>43883515That's part of his final entry. So I suppose, I'll open it up in a few minutes.
For those who remain: http://pastebin.com/fzbjzbay
>>43883911That's heartbreaking Auri
>>43883911I haven't cried this hard since I watched Up.
>>43883911Bad feel. Bad feel.
>>43883983>>43884032>>43884050And that's pretty much the final note of this quest. What an interesting journey its been.Again, I want to thank my players, because none of this would've happened without you. I'll be around for a little longer to answer any remaining questions before I post my final thoughts.
>>43883911What about the hairpin and the entity it once belonged to?
>>43884201The hairpin is long gone from Sophia's concern, but you had a brief conversation with the entity it belonged to as you passed through the blue-white abyss.
>>43884201>>43884146Was it part of something from another sphere? Cause that's what it feels like?
>>43884146So how badly did we fuck up?Sophia gone beyond caring about mortals? What would have happened if we broke the seal and stopped Sayuline's/Ali's plot? What would have happened if we went beyond?
>>43884277It belonged to the "sky" of your sphere, and was able to perceive some of the other spheres, but its domain is lesser than Sophia's after her ascension.>>43884282That depends what by that. She's always been beyond caring, but now she's indeed several degrees of separation further. The quest would have pursued an entirely different direction, with Ali likely trying something else in the future if you had not gotten rid of her. You did go beyond, you did so with a higher level of consciousness...Going beyond without would've been difficult.
The journal has closed on this quest. Now, it's time to go. Some of you might be wondering "What's next?" And so am I. I do have one more setting that I want to run, one that's rather different than everything that I've run in the past. I don't want to make any guarantees at this point in time, but I will keep anyone interested updated through my twitter, and I really hope that I'm able to run it.For those of you that I will not see again, I wish you the best! For those others, I wish you the best, and I look forward to seeing you again!Thank you all, so much, and until next time!
>>43884412Oh izu, i sad now.Is white robe happy where it is?
>>43884663Looking forward to whatever you choose to run, I'm sure it will be fantastic! I'll keep my promise to record it all for easy review, though I'm not sure how much even that would help me keep track of everything ;p
>>43884668I just saw this question before I exited out, so no dramatic exit for me.The Caretaker is content with the position it has. If you're referring the other being in the white robe, then it will soon be very entertained.
>>43884713Thank you very much for your compliment and you enthusiasm! I truly appreciate them both, and it really makes me want to run again soon.Alright, now I'm really going. Good-bye!
>>43884715I meant the other white robe, and thats VERY interesting.
