You are Shee Hyul, rebel leader, psychic and Reunited. Your world is ruled by inhuman creatures and this has gone on far too long, it’s time to fight back.Character Sheet http://pastebin.com/fYSgcZdERules http://pastebin.com/LEEi5A3uArchive http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Psychic%20Rebel%20QuestThread 28 http://pastebin.com/s3NR7dqHSetting http://pastebin.com/95D5RNhPBusiness http://pastebin.com/NwspZmKwAllies http://pastebin.com/yVgtiFeuAlly Powers http://pastebin.com/Xm6UGDyXQM Twitter https://twitter.com/anAspiringQMQM Askfm http://ask.fm/AnAspiringQMYesterday you took control of a psychic vampire called Mistress Steel who owns and runs an establishment called the Pink Delight. The Pink Delight provides bloodwhores (amongst other services) to vampires and is an up-market establishment. One of the workers there, a green-haired girl called Kinsey Ohara, was a psychic, though one whose powers didn't seem all there. She has the ability to control Dust Ghosts and when Mistress Steel (probably not her real name) found out about this she had Kinsey send them out to murder people. You managed to track them down and ended up in a brief telepathic battle with Mistress Steel, which ended when you changed her into your loyal servant. This was late at night, so once you were happy that Kinsey was ok, you headed back home with your friends to catch a few hours sleep. You are woken early next morning by the doorbell ringing, you gaze blearily and security camera and then come wide awake as a surge of adrenaline rushes through you. You curse and stumble around the room getting dressed in a hurry as both Rainyas raise their heads from your bed and give you confused looks “what's going on?” one asks.“Jades at the door” you explain, pulling your top on backwards, then taking it off and getting it right on the third try.“What?” asks Rainya, still partly asleep.“Jade” you say “Quinns sister, she's at the door.”
“Oh right” says Rainya “you told her to come here, why the panic?”“Just being cautious” you say “what if what I did to her didn't work? What if this is a trick?”Rainya sleepily considers that and responds “tell her to wait then, and we'll all get ready to greet her.” More Rainya's start appearing.“I'll wake the others up” she offers “you get ready.”The semi-naked Rainyas head out as you quickly splash some water on your face, try to remember which weapons you have stored where in the extra dimensional space you carry around, and then head downstairs. Your friends all greet you in various degrees of wakefulness...except for Kaelyn, who pointedly turns her back on you, and snaps over her shoulder at you “well, are you coming?” as she heads downstairs. You wander what's up with her now.Of course Jade isn't the only thing you need to deal with right now, if she's alone, and this isn't some sort of trap or trick, maybe dealing with Kaelyn, or Mistress Steel at the Pink Delight takes priority. What do you? (please choose only 1)>Deal with Jade>See what's bugging Kaelyn>Head out to the Pink Delight>Other (?)
Meta]I was a little behind on my AskFM, I'm almost caught up now. Also, my apologies, I forgot that Shee recently met the criteria for gaining her 4th Aspect.Aspects on offer are:DominationShee has recently been using her mental powers to great effect. Perhaps her enemies are better controlled than killed. This Aspect is different from Corruption in that Corruption has a wider zone of influence (enemies, friends, the environment) whereas Domination would specifically involve controlling and subjugating Shees foes (or even those she is neutral towards) but would not affect her allies or the world around her.Passive Bonuses: Adds twice its rank to all power and skill rolls made to control others, including intimidation and commanding, but not persuasion. RetributionShee is willing to viciously punish those that hurt her, or her friends. Justice in this world is hard to find, but you can make sure those that deserve punishment receive it.Retributions powers are conditional upon Shee or those she cares about being wronged in some way. She can use it against a foe she has a grudge against, but not a stranger – though that stranger would qualify if they had hurt a member of Shees family.Passive Bonuses: Adds to attack rolls (including powers) that deal damage against those that Shee thinks deserve punishing.UnstoppableShee has taken on some very tough challenges, and walked into traps and ambushes and fought her way out. Perhaps she is becoming an inevitable force that cannot be denied.Passive Bonuses: Adds to all rolls on subsequent attempts. In other words, if Shee fails the first time, but keeps trying, further rolls benefit from this bonus. The bonus disappears if Shee changes what she is doing (including changing targets in combat).
Boost Existing AspectShee need not expand her repertoire of inhuman powers, she could simply boost an existing one. If this option is chosen there will be a follow up vote on which Aspect is improved, and that Aspect will rise by 2. I'll leave it for an hour or 2 for discussion, then call for a vote.[End Meta]

Ok, apparently we can get ranks in gifts that were offered but we didn't take when they were available by forcing it with our aspects. Costs 10xp though.I was thinking that Split Self could be worth getting. It'd let Shee keep one body in the psiwell while her other body goes off and benefits from the buff, or she could have the extra scarf bloodfruits constantly. Having one back at base would make her a heck of a lot harder to kill, as well. Or just send in body bodies to double the firepower. I dunno. Thoughts? And Power Specialization can be bought for Inevitability and other Jaggy gifts using FBBxp. That's something I'd really like to do if nobody else has anything in mind for the FBBxp. Also our base stats limit is 18+Impossibility rank. So we could up Willpower a couple more times if we wanted I guess.Or Feast of Life 9 is a thing we could get and buy some of our haemo/void things with the xp from it. That's something else that'd be cool to do.Or hoard all our xp and start doing the Corruption thing to force a meeting with a Primal Forces tutor eventually and then buy that.>>43637732>See what's bugging Kaelyn>>43637741>>43637748Not sure which one of those I like. Like Retribution and Unstoppable but they're kinda conditional. Then again Retribution is pretty damn appropriate. Almost want to just go for the +2 to Impossibility but that feels like a bit of a waste.
>>43637858I'm mostly onclined towards domination, but practically I think boosting impossibility or corruption would get us more.
>>43637741>Unstoppable>Shee has taken on some very tough challenges, and walked into traps and ambushes and fought her way out. Perhaps she is becoming an inevitable force that cannot be denied.>Passive Bonuses: Adds to all rolls on subsequent attempts. In other words, if Shee fails the first time, but keeps trying, further rolls benefit from this bonus. The bonus disappears if Shee changes what she is doing (including changing targets in combat).I'm kinda shaky on what exactly this means. Like, does it have to be reattempting the same exact thing that failed horribly or can it be applied to stamping out continued resistance that wasn't overcome with the initial push?
>>43637858Keep in mind the kinds of powers that these aspects, or a +2 to an existent aspect, might lead to as well when making your decision.I like Crushing Fists, and therefore Might.
>>43637903Both, whether Shee failed to hit, or the enemy didn't fall with the first blow.
“Tell her to wait and keep an eye on her would you?” you ask Rainya, Dev and Lirael “I'll be with you soon.”You head after Kaelyn “Kae?” you call out.“What?” she snaps, gathering weapons in your makeshift armoury in one of the spare rooms.“What's crawled up your ass?” you ask frankly, folding your arms and leaning against the wall.Kaelyn throws down the ammunition belt she was putting on and turns to face you “You really want to know?!”“That's why I asked” you say“You seem to be developing a taste for making people your puppets!” she complains “Jade, Mistress Steel, whose going to be next Shee? Anyone who disagrees with you?”You stifle an internal sigh, well, your friends can't agree with your actions all the time, you think to yourself.Though the Aspect of Corruption disagrees with that assessment and your mind is filled with ideas on how to correct that...How do you respond to Kaelyn?>This isn't the time, we'll talk later (exclusive)>They're evil, they deserved it>I'd never hurt my friends >Don't question me, Kae>Other (?)

This one is iffy, as Shee has typically shown she doesn't prefer mindfucking people. While this would be good in psychic battles, it doesn't seem like it'd be particularly useful elsewhere. Pass>Retribution>Shee is willing to viciously punish those that hurt her, or her friends. Justice in this world is hard to find, but you can make sure those that deserve punishment receive it.>Retributions powers are conditional upon Shee or those she cares about being wronged in some way. She can use it against a foe she has a grudge against, but not a stranger – though that stranger would qualify if they had hurt a member of Shees family.>Passive Bonuses: Adds to attack rolls (including powers) that deal damage against those that Shee thinks deserve punishing.Again, while useful in battle, really does require a trigger in order to be useful. Pass>Unstoppable>Shee has taken on some very tough challenges, and walked into traps and ambushes and fought her way out. Perhaps she is becoming an inevitable force that cannot be denied.>Passive Bonuses: Adds to all rolls on subsequent attempts. In other words, if Shee fails the first time, but keeps trying, further rolls benefit from this bonus. The bonus disappears if Shee changes what she is doing (including changing targets in combat). Now this might actually be useful, as the only triggering circumstance is that you do the 1/2
>>43637948>They're evil, they deserved it>I'd never hurt my friends
>>43637966>as Shee has typically shown she doesn't prefer mindfucking peoplYou were clearly reading a different quest than the rest of us then. Shee significantly prefers mindfucking people and does it all the time.
>>43637966same thing more than once in succession. This is good in battle, general strength checks, and other things. It'd basically make it impossible for an attack to fail forever. We just use the same move and eventually we break the DC whatever it is. The only thing that might hurt this is if the bonus for doing something repeatedly is negligible. Say, less than 10.The other is the only other option worth getting, as a flat boost to something we already have is always good.
>>43637907Getting Impossibility/Corruption and going for Legendary psychic powers would be pretty damn good. Primal sounds like it's stronger than most aspects from what Pally's said on it. Need 11 in one of them to just learn it out of nowhere but less than that could force a meeting with a tutor.Fists is pretty good so I wouldn't mind getting it if that's what things come to. Still think pumping up Inevitability would be a good move. It only produces 14 right now but with a couple power specs and Willpower ranks it'd be slinging rolls above 20 when we need it.
>>43637966>as Shee has typically shown she doesn't prefer mindfucking peoplSix, our old cell leader, the shadow vamp, quinn, jade, steel and several minor antagonists like to disagree strenously they just can't anymore due to mindfuckery. Shee has never expressed any issue with doing it either.

“Kaelyn” you put a hand on her shoulder but she shrugs it off “Kae I'd never do that to my friends, I care too much about all of you to do anything like that.”Kaelyn scowls, folds her arms and looks away, muttering “I wish I could believe you.”“So what do you believe?” you ask her, raising an eyebrow “that I want everyone in the whole world bowing to my will? Friends and loved ones included?”You just wait, the silence stretches out. Kaelyn breaks first “no, I suppose not” she says grudgingly “I just, I've seen some horrible things in the royal court ok? I've seen Fae lords attended by blank-faced people who obeyed their every word, never complained, never even flinched if they got hurt, like machines that look like people you know?”Well, that explains her dislike of it at least...“What I do is different” you search for the right words to explain, to justify what you've done “They're still capable of thinking for themselves, they can still choose stuff, and they aren't machines, but their priorities, their goals have just shifted.” The explanation sounds a little inadequate to your own ears.“Besides” you say “Jade murdered Ash” anger and grief still burn through you “and hurt a lot of other people, Mistress Steel bought Kinsey as a slave and turned her into an assassin, and I doubt all the other girls at the Pink Delight are there willingly. I say they deserved it, and if not making them useful, giving them a chance to set right all the things they did, then what Kaelyn, should I just kill them? Let them go, what?”Kaelyn turns so you can see the conflict on her face as she considers this “No, I guess not” she concedes “I just, it just disturbs me.”Because she's Fae lords do things like that...you decide not to mention the time she was messing with Rainyas emotions.“I'd only do it to my enemies” you say “not my friends, and I'm sorry if it bothers you Kae, but I don't have the luxury of mercy sometimes, its use them, or kill them.”
>>43638188Impossibility has more things fall under what it can directly improve, but Corruption might actually be more far-reaching if that makes any sense. Like, we can just sit and wish for shit to happen and Corruption will try to force it to happen in the most direct manner it can achieve. We really, really hate someone and it will start trying to kill them through bad luck. We want to obtain something and it will try to give it to us directly and if it's not strong enough then it will start warping the world until circumstances align and someone else gives us what we want. I'd be cool with either but I wouldn't instantly go with Impossibility.
“Yeah” says Kaelyn sombrely “sucks huh?” She puts a hand on your arm “you ok?” and gives you a concerned look. “I'm fine” you say in a raspy voice, then try again “I'm fine” you say in a more normal voice “C'mon, we've kept Jade waiting, let's see what she has to say.”“What are you going to do with her?” Asks Kaelyn, as you head downstairs to join your friends.Well?>Not sure, just talk to her first>Send her home to spy>She'll stay here, where I can watch her>Other (?)This sets the tone for your conversation with Jade, it's not a route-lock vote.

We could use her to systematically dismantle the entire family. Kill the Grandfather, kill various family members everywhere else, leave the parents because Quinn's not that bad a guy.
>>43638234Corruption is more direct than that, though on higher levels it might do that.
>>43638356He was pretty bad, literally the only thing that could have made us give a shit about him was that he was Ashs gay crush.
>>43638348You keep insisting it would be hilarious, but I doubt Quinn would have the reaction you would expect nor do I believe it would be humorous enough to be remotely worth it.
>>43638368He's really not. Let's be honest, here, Quinn and Jade are like Zuko and Azula. Both are fucked in the head, but only one of them was irredeemably, undeniably batshit insane.

>>43638358Nope. Those examples are straight from the ask. At low levels when it doesn't have enough oomph to directly accomplish the goal it comes at things from funny, indirect angles and gets more direct the higher the level is.

Guys. If we got the Unstoppable domain, we could potentially get Ash back. Just keep trying to revive him, again and again and again, bonuses keep stacking.According to Pally, we'd need to fight a God to get him back, but let's be honest, we've done dumber shit for worse reasons.
>>43638422Get over it anon. Ash is gone, the time for reviving him has run out.
>>43638425It is possible to bring him back. The DC becomes a measure of how long it will take, not if it's possible.
>>43638422Not really, and getting back a character most people were at best indifferent towards is not really a reason to do anything. Its time to move on, there is no more reason to revive Ash than Rydian.
>>43638422Good job, anon. Now people who wanted him dead are going to vote against Unstoppable no matter what. But you probably already knew that.
>>43638422That'd be funny in a sad sort of way.>>43638425Impossibility, not saying we will or should, but we likely could.
>>43638434Unstoppable is without a dou t the most useless of the new aspects, I didn't need a reason to vote for something else, a Aspect that requires us to do shit that fails repeadetly is not a great investment if we can instead just improve our odds to do everything.
>>43638440Impossibility had the second lowest odds to succeed at reviving him.
>>43638422I'ld back this, we have a spare vampire body so we just need the mind anyway.
>>43638454The mind is the relevant part, we had the body to begin with. His soul might have already been recycled though.
>>43638447It helps with any problem we don't instantly solve and any fight we don't win on the first round.
>>43638464And impossibility helps with all those from the start.
>>43638453And? Your were saying time was up. Impossibility makes time being up irrelevant. If alloyed with unstoppable it could be done. It's possible with the impossible and unstoppable. However it being worth it is debatable at best.
>>43638477It's also not one of the new aspects.
I think the thing we should take more into consideration with the aspect vote. Read what Impossibility and Corruption actually say they do. Then think about all the other shit we've done with them. What could Domination/Retribution/Unstoppable do in that same sense?>>43638484Actually we have the option to buff it instead of getting one of the new ones.
>>43638484You overlooked the part where we can raise a existing one by 2 which is a lot
>>43638492>Actually we have the option to buff it instead of getting one of the new ones. That doesn't change that the refuted statement was that Unstoppable was the worst of the new aspects.
“I'm honestly not sure” you admit to Kaelyn, as you all head down together to fetch Jade “I think she needs to be watched but I don't want to have the hassle of watching her around the clock. If we send her home she could be killed, I just don't know what to do with her, I guess we'll talk first.”“Good idea” says Dev. Together you open the door, some of you visibly armed, and before you stands Jade.“Umm, Hi?” she says, sounding very nervous.Jade is a vampire of middle height just past the age of 20, with long dark hair that is tied back. She has green eyes and her lips are bright, almost bloody red against her pale skin, when she brushes a stray hair back, you can see that her nails are long, and painted with highly detailed pictures...of torture scenes.“Come this way” you say harshly, Jade flinches.XXXUp in your realm, safe from prying eyes, you talk to Jade.“Well?” you bark at her, as you're all in Kaelyns sitting room, Rainya and Dev still have their guns with them.“Well what?” Jade asks, twisting her fingers together, though her face has a calm expression.“What am I going to do with you?” You ask.“Anything you want Mistress” Jade replies calmly “I just want to please you.” You don't show her what you think of being called 'Mistress'.To buy yourself time to think, you look to your friends.Rainya shrugs “just keep her here, until we need her?”Kaelyn objects “make me her jailer?” she asks, looking at Rainya “no thanks, long distance spying missions I think, send her out to dig up dirt on our enemies.”Dev says to Jade “what can you do? I know the secrets of most of the younger vampires across the hive” her expression becomes contemptuous “those with wealth and influence enough to be interesting anyway. Oh, and my reputation is enough to scare members of lesser clans into doing what I want.”Dev gives you considering look “sounds like she could be useful” he suggests.Lirael leans over and whispers in your ear “Make her part of your clan n'stuff, I'll make sure she is good.”You look at Jade without expression, the murderer of your friend, a vampire that by all accounts takes please in tormenting anyone weaker than herself. Picking her brain for useful information is the first order of business “What do you know of Garrax, Kulrathe?” you ask “The Reunited in general?”As your friends watch for any sign of deception, Jade lists of what she knows. Her knowledge is impressive. She knows about the Reunited, their origins, the whole contest. Her knowledge comes from Jane - the sorcerer you killed, and her own family. The elder Crimsonthornes are aware of the Reunited contest and are actively trying to profit from the conflict, as well as making escape plans to flee off-world when (not if) 'this whole planet gets torn apart'.Jane was free with general information on the Reunited, but specific information she handed out only carefully. Jade thinks that she wanted Jade interested, but not knowledgeable to be a threat. Jade didn't reveal to her how much she already knew from her family. As she talks, Jade looks more confident, sure of herself.Regarding Kulrathe, Jade knows that he has most of the senior officers of the hive police force under his sway. Only a few vampires and fae who have family or political ties to very powerful individuals have escaped his control. Kulrathe is also buying a lot of military-grade weapons, but his source of funding is a mystery. Kulrathe is mostly avoiding the politics of the vampires and fae.Garrax is getting much more politically involved and has sold several Gifts to vampires in return for political favours. He is also aggressively taking over all sorts of business close to his club, and various leisure and entertainment establishments accross the Hive. He has the ear of a number of powerful vampires and fae. Eventually you motion for her to stop talking.“Tell me about your Uncle, Tasich” you say to Jade softly, her eyes widen in alarm “and the Dragon Beneath, and the Hydra.” You're not sure if she realises what you saw in her memories.
“There's not much to tell” she says hesitantly “we never, the Hydra was never completed. My uncle left the planet after a fight with some of the other members of my family and our connection grew weaker as we got older, though we can still sense one another. The Dragon Beneath I don't know much about, he was an old god my uncle followed, but what he has to do with the Reunited I don't know.”She seems to be telling the truth, and you have another question to ask, a much more personal one.“Now” you say, your voice harsh with barely controlled anger “where did you get the antinite that Ash tried to kill me with?”Jade wilts under your anger, you expect she got it from Jane, the scheming bitch who-“The Crimsonthornes have a stash of it” she says “as do many of the more powerful vampires. Dhampirs and most Vitoi can handle it safely with precautions – but to fae its deadly poison.”Suddenly Kaelyn is much more interested, leaning forwards to hear Jades every word.“Most of it is buried in underground vaults far from the Hives” Jade continues “but my grandfather keeps a small arsenal of weapons made from it in his home. I had a replica made of one of them and replaced it.”“Why?” asks Dev, looking confused “why have weapons that could be used on them.”“Because they don't trust the fae” says Kaelyn, her voice a breathy whisper “Shee this is huge, it could mean war between the vampires and fae.”“Or weapons for us” points our Rainya “They'd be very useful against other Reunited.”Or they could kill you...Now what?>I've decided what to do with you (follow-up vote with various options)>For now she stays in your realm, you'll decide later>Ask questions (what?)>Other (?)Are players ready for Aspect vote, or would you like longer to discuss?

You look around and your family and friends “I think having a set of eyes and ears in the Crimsonthorne household sounds good, don't you?”“Useful certainly” notes Dev “but can we trust her?”“Not at all” says Kaelyn scornfully, Rainya nods in agreement.“Yes we can” you say firmly “she'll do what I want her to – especially after she joins the family. Would you might giving us a little privacy?”XXXSometime later you're licking Jades blood from your lips as she lies semi-comatose on Kaelyns couch. Whilst you were feeding on her, and feeding her your blood you felt your Aspects, you soon-to-be-divine nature changing and growing, but it seems rather than gaining a new aspect, one of yours has simply become stronger. You can feel things inside your body grind and melt and shift – it feels like you're being tickled. Around you the walls seems to warp and melt and your realm trembles, as if it is ready to transform. You wait until Jade has recovered enough to walk, and then lead her downstairs, sending her back home to spy on her family for you, or to come when called.Down in the residence you find Kaelyn, Lirael, Dev and Rainya.“Was that really a good idea?” asks Dev, when you enter the room. You roll your eyes “yes” you say “It gives me more control over her?”“How?” asks Kaelyn curiously. You struggle to explain it to them, to you its obvious “Vampires I create are in tune with my Aspects” you say “and in Jades case that means doing what I want her to do, and not hurting those I care about. Even if what I did to her was undone somehow, she would still struggle to go against me, or to hurt anyone I care about.”Devs face shows his lack of comprehension, but Rainya backs you up “if Shee thinks it needs doing” she says “then its for the best, now, are we off to the Pink Delight?”Kaelyn grins and turns to Rainya, no doubt to make some sort of suggestive comment as Lirael says petulantly “awww I wanted a new sister.”

Looking through the new asks;> You really had to stop yourself from saying that Rainya'd suddenly get pregnant with a Shee in the event of death, didn't ya. Or were you going to say that Shee could impregnate her killers with her own new self and chestburster them?yes Thats not fetishy, thats awesome as fuck. Something similar to that should work for Corruption/Impossibility where Shee transforms a nearby person into her own self(possibly without physical mutation as dying tax).Honestly if Shee ever dies, I imagine the Five will offer her a return ticket and I bet Ichors would look like that having Rainya birth Shee back into the world, it sounds fucked up enough to be something she'd do.
Pink Delight it is
>>43639579I can't imagine Shee not thinking it'd be helpful to become more powerful what with the whole godling deathmatch contest, assorted other enemies/threats, and looming planet-cracking. Admittedly it'd be kinda weird to start with that right here out of nowhere but I could see her mind wandering down similar roads during a more empty moment.

So, Pally, is Shee's body now an undefined mass of physically impossible compounds that could cause untold damage to the surrounding reality if the protective sheath of her skin wasn't in the way?
>>43639863Nope. We picked Body of the Titan instead of Voidflesh.I'm talking out of my ass and have no idea
You all head out to the Pink Delight, You have sent Mistress Steel a message so she knows to expect you, and lets you in through one of the side entrances. Its not even midday yet.“Most everyone is still asleep” she explains, as she leads you all to the top floor where her office/boudoir is located. You recall how it looked the last time you were here.“I think you better stay outside” you tell Lirael as you get to the waiting room.“Why?” she asks, giving you a puzzled look.“It's not really suitable for you in there” you say vaguely.Lirael gives you a sceptical look “Sis I saw that place last time you were there, its not that scary.”You look around to your friends mutely for support. Dev steps up.“I've been practising my Hive Racer 3 skills” he tells Lirael, taking a games pad out of his pocket “and I bet you can't beat me.”Lirael rolls her eyes “practise all you want Dev, you don't have a chance” She pulls her own games pad from her satchel and the two take seats and start up their racing game. You'll need to do something nice for Dev at some point. With Rainya and Kaelyn in tow, you head into Mistress Steels inner sanctum. It still has various frames, the walls are hung with chains, and there are racks full of devices, some of which make even Kaelyn blush.Mistress Steel leads you to a set of ordinary looking chairs hung with manacles but none of you sit.“What can I do for you” says Mistress Steel, almost choking on the last word “Mistress”. Rainya and Kaelyn give you concerned looks, you quickly check your work on Mistress Steels mind – in contrast to Jade she is fighting her new conditioning, but unsuccessfully. You spend a few minutes reinforcing your work, and then she shivers, smiles at you and says in a much more compliant tone “how can I help you Mistress?”
“We need intel” says Kaelyn “you have rich clients, we need names.”At the same time Rainya suggests “We need to know which girls are captives, I think we should ask Kinsey to join us.”What do you discuss?>(rich) client names>Fetch Kinsey>General rundown of the business>Who is here willingly, who isn't>Who here is a threat?>Other (?)

This is taking a while to write, thank you for your patience.
“I want to know everything” you tell her “but first, tell Kinsey to come up here.”Mistress Steel obediently goes to the comm and asks for Kinsey to be sent up. The purple-haired girl looks sleepy, but much happier once she sees it's you.“So the business” you say to Mistress Steel “how is it?”“Oh you know” she says with an alluring grin “we're hardly bleeding money.”[The Pink DelightA bordello that offers whores and bloodwhores. On Level 21 in Hive 39. (weekly) Turnover: 200,000 (150,000 blood donation; 50,000 prostitution)Costs: 84,000 (Staff 76,000 [Deputy Managers 4,000; Whores 52,000; Security 20,000], Facilities costs 8,000 [heating, electricity, water, cleaning bill etc]) Cleaning and Reception staff under facilities costs.Net Profit: 116,000Principle Activities: Prostitution (regular and blood)Staff: Manager (Mistress Steel) (1), Bloodwhores (200), Deputy Managers (2 – Letum), Security (30 – Dhampirs and Vitoi). Note that about half of the bloodwhores sell sex as well. Most of the bloodwhores are human, a few are Vitoi. One claims to be a race known as an 'Aerlan' and has long pointed ears.]Most of the bloodwhores are here willingly, for a given value of willing. Many come from poor backgrounds and work here to send money to families. A few genuinely enjoy their work. About a third were purchased by Mistress Steel, some from off-world traders, some from criminal gangs. All are hopelessly addicted to vampire bites.Once Mistress Steel has given a rather cold rundown of which girls would simply sell themselves on the street to feed their addition, both Rainya and Kaelyn are looking unwell.“Alright” you take the conversation in a different direction “so far, no one has realised what's going on, who might realise something is amiss, and what might they do?”
Mistress Steel dismisses the security guards “They wouldn't even care even if they knew” she says “and they're dhampirs, they're chronically stupid anyway. The Vetoi are mostly young and easily distracted by the girls. No only Domovoi and Heshia” she names her two assistant managers, male and female vampires each over a century old “are a danger to you, only they are smart enough to be suspicious, and I can simply fire them if you like - then they'll do nothing.”“Not yet” You say, still processing all of this, trying to turn it to your advantage. Mistress Steel dismissing the dhampirs as stupid is typical Letum arrogance, and very likely wrong. She might not see the security guards as a threat, but you know they could be.“Lastly” you say “clients – who comes here regularly?” For this, Mistress Steel hands you a datapad, you skim through the names, most mean nothing to you, but here and there you recognise clan names, even a few individual names. It seems vampires from most of the clans in the city visit here. Although visiting a bloodwhore is legal, to some it will be embarrassing – a sign that the vampire is too weak to have his own feeders, and depending upon what they do to the whores it could be more than just embarrassing “I assume you have cameras in the rooms?” you ask Mistress Steel. She grins “of course” she confirms your suspicions “for security purposes only, you understand”.Rainya shifts, then asks you “Why would they care?” “Vampires are close to their feeders” you say, scrolling through the names “sometimes closer to them than their actual spouses – a lot of clans still arrange marriages. A vampire going to a bloodwhore without his regular feeders consent is seen as cheating, and when your own feeder knows all your dirty secrets and has a fast Wire connection...most vampires will do what they have to to keep their feeder happy.”
“Ok” says Kaelyn “so what do we do, start talking to the girls to see if they want to go? Get the security on side? Is there any reason not to involve her? “I want to know what you think” you say to Rain and Kaelyn “you as well Kinsey, but I need to make a commcall.”You step into a side-room full of chains hanging from the ceiling and comm Yonsul.“Shee” she says brusquely “what do you need?”“Legal advice” you say “can you talk?”“There's no one around” she says “go on”You give her a rundown on what happened regarding the Pink Delight, the murders, everything.Sergeant Yonsul sucks in a long breath in between her teeth on the other end of the comm “ok, everyone would get arrested, Steel would do time for slavery and murder, Kinsey would do time for murder, with a reduced sentence for being coerced. All the managers and security would get charged with aiding and abetting, some might be convicted or not. The whole place would be shut down and the girls would end up in other places like that, or on the street, the police simply don't have the funding to look after them and help them kick the addiction. And if that place has all those important clients it could get embarrassing for a lot of people if it came to light. Mistress Steel and Kinsey could both have nasty accidents. Both Kulrathe and Garrax would be aware of it, and might find out you're involved.”And, you think this might break your truce, given that Mistress Steel answered to Garrax. “And if Mistress Steel s mind is scanned” continues Yonsul “which is very likely if she's accused of using mental powers to force someone to do what she wants, then you might end up with a warrant out for you too.”“So” you say “in summary, if the police get involved at all, this will be a complete speeder wreck.”“Yup” says Yonsul “I'll help where I can but it sounds to me like the last thing you need is official involvement.”“Thanks for the advice” you say “talk to you soon.”“See you soon kiddo” says Yonsul “stay safe.” You head back to Mistress Steel, wondering what you are going to do.“Kaelyn?” you ask for her views.
“A light touch” she responds “leave Steel in charge, help the girls a few at a time, let things continue on. Much as I'd love to help the girls here, doing too much could be noticed. And whilst I'm sure we could beat a bunch of vamps in a fight, people will notice that much violence.”Rainya disagrees “Of course Shee is going to help any of the girls who want to leave here” she says “that's not even a question, the only thing to talk about is how she deals with the vampires and dhampirs.” Rainyas faith in your kindness is touching, but you think about the practicality of helping sixty or so former slaves, as well as 200 bite-addicts. Rainya continues “and Shee can confront the security a few at a time, just have Mistress Steel call them up to the office, they get the option of working for us or leaving, and if they attack, well then I'll shoot them.”“Kinsey” you say “you want to say something?”“I think” she says, picking her words carefully “that if given a choice, some of the girls will leave. But if allowed to refuse clients they don't want, most would stay, I mean you get used to the work, and as long as we get to choose who does what” She throws Mistress Steel a dirty look – the vampire merely smiles “and if we get paid fairly then I think a lot would stay. As for the security and stuff, I just don't know.”You've got several issues here: The girls, the security and the two older vampires.
GirlsYou could keep conditions as they are, unpleasant, but not suspicious. You could offer the girls a new deal, freedom to turn clients down, better pay and so on, as well as letting them leave if they want. This might arouse some suspicion and cost money, but not too much. You could even offer to make some into dhampirs, making the girls strong enough to defend themselves, those who fed on them would have your blood in them and you might be able to use your Corruption Aspect to affect them. The clients would know they were feeding off (created) Dhampirs and might get suspicious.SecurityYou could simply keep security in the dark, they're used to following orders. Some might notice any changes though. You could interview them one at a time, or in small groups, allowing you to pick out those that are trouble and deal with them. The rest would know that you're involved though. You could convert them to your clan, giving you a measure of control over them. Deputy ManagersMistress Steel could simply fire them, leaving them in place without doing anything is far too risky. You could talk to them and try to get them to follow you willingly.Mind controlling them (with or without turning them into Vi Hyul) is an option too.15 minutes to discuss, then a vote, write-in suggestions can be added to the standard options.Turning people into members of your clan is a rather extreme option, but one I felt should be included. Likewise mind-control is another extreme option that can be used if players want.Different options have different benefits and risks, I hope I've outlined them clearly, but please do ask if anything is unclear. These are consequences that Shee could reasonably predict and anticipate, things could easily happen that she doesn't expect. Finally, calling in the cops will be a simple yes/no vote at the end. I hope Yonsul has made it clear what the consequences could be there.
>>43641403>The rest would know that you're involved though. Can't we just make them think they had a interview with Steel to re-assess her security after that terrible attack the other day?It seems the best solution to me in regards to the security.
I feel that making little to no change is the best. We don't want to break the truce too soon.

>>43641508>Doing what? Do we have any jobs that need unskilled bodies to fill the positions? Not right now, but we can certainly expand. (Possibly some serving as Kaes dream feeder...)
Concerning Garrax: Accordiung to Mistress Steel he's only visited once, and she only speaks to him about once a week via comm, and that his interests are primarily that the business is still making money so that he can use the funds if needed. The impression she gets is that hers is just part of a larger portfolio.

>>43641403Here's my take>Girls: Offer new deal. Not better pay, but higher standards from clientele. No drunks, no abusiveness (unless it's paid for and the girl is willing), no draining victims dry, no STDs (we'll treat any of the girls who have those). All the girls work in two shifts of four hours every day, so they have plenty of time to recover. Better living conditions, food is provided (can include some fruits of Shee's to improve the quality of blood, help draw in business), even some entertainment for any girls on duty but not with a client. Pay stays the same, but extra is given out at the end of shifts if the girls sign on for other things such as regular prostitution, 'Kinky' shit (this is the part where it's no abuse unless the girl is willing), and other services. We can pass all this off as 'The Pink Delight is introducing a new business model, in an effort to ensure the quality of our product.'Security>'Interview' them one at a time. Interview is code for mindfuck.Deputy Managers>Talk to them, see if you can get them on your side willingly. Offer the powers of your far superior clan, don't threaten whatever you do. They'll try to worm out of it.
>>43641540Only sixty of them are slaves, and it's doubtful that even a quarter of that number would want to leave under significantly improved conditions.
>>43641559I think it would be smarter to start those changes slowly. Start up with rejecting abusive customers, call it a PR concern, also girls being used up fast makes for less high quality service and revenues suffer from having to replace them and being unable to get better clientel.Work up to the full package. But I do like that plan from both ethical and business PoV.

>>43641945Brand them somewhere that doesn't get looked at all that often. Bottom of the foot or the roof of their mouth or somewhere like that. >>43642023>>43642050Garrax could sense Reunited a while ago, I find it VERY likely, given he works against two heavy King followers he had something to detect their powers.I find it useful to keep that distinct possibility in mind.
Your next few days are going to be very busy. You start at the top, with Mistress Steels deputies. You have no fear of facing two vampires at once, and so you ask Mistress Steel to set up a meeting: Just you, her, the two vampires...and all your friends hidden nearby ready to jump in and help if needed.Mistress Steel explains to them the situation: that you are now in charge, that they will no longer be dealing with Garrax – it seems that they know he is Reunited, but seem vague on exactly what that means, only that he is very powerful. And finally Mistress Steel turns to you.You appraise the two vampires: He is tall and broad and all muscle, a former bouncer with his hair cropped short and tattoos on his neck. She is slender and willowy with long blonde hair and looking like she would snap if struck. However Mistress Steel has warned you that although Domovoi is the stronger, Heshia is much faster and has decades of practising martial arts.“Do either of you have any questions?” you ask them. They don't even give each other a sideways glance, but you can sense they are communicating telepathically.“Yes” says Domovoi, he has an accent you can't place “you are in charge, fine, who are you?” You get a sense that he wants more than just a name.Heshia asks “why shouldn't we just take this to Garrax?” she leans back and folds her arms “he gets rid of you and Steel and makes us both managers of the Delight.” She doesn't seem hostile, but there's no mercy in her icy gaze. How do you respond?>Just persuade them to follow you (exclusive)>Tell them you're Reunited>Offer them a place in your clan>Telepathy (Domination + Psychic Surgery to make them compliant)>Other (?)

Seriously, why was steel having vampires killed?
You spend most of an hour talking with them, and eventually they agree to accept your leadership, for now at least. You get a sense they will be loyal up to a point, but will always be looking for an opportunity to take you down if they sense weakness. After they have returned to their duties, a quick conversation with Mistress Steel confirms this. You have no real fear for your own safety, but they might try to use your friends as leverage against you. Again, Mistress Steel confirms that Heshia once dealt with a pushy businessman who tried to buy the place by kidnapping his lover.Next you interview the guards, one at a time, posing as a security consultant reviewing the business practises. Many of them live up to Mistress Steels expectations: They are here to do a job and get paid, and don't really care who is giving the orders, or even what they are told to do.Some however give evasive answers and ask probing questions of their own, the telepaths are more likely to do this than those that aren't, and several times you brush off attempts at reading your own mind. Some seem to be paranoid, or curious, but not genuinely suspicious.Four of the guards (3 telepaths, one not, all vitoi) strike you as extremely suspicious and untrustworthy. They might be running their own scams, dealing drugs to clients, be taking money from someone to watch Mistress Steel, or any one of a number of other things, but their answers and actions seem untrustworthy to you. What do you do about these four?>Just fire them >Interview them again, try to figure out the problem>Read their minds>Other (?)

You decide to find out what's wrong with them by simply reading their minds. Of the four one simply has very poor social skills and comes off as strange, but is otherwise innocent; two are selling drugs to clients, and to the girls – Mistress Steel has forbidden this, as she doesn't want the cops raiding the place, nor does she want unsuspecting clients getting high by feeding off a drugged girl, the drugs they are selling are harmful and illegal; and one...is a spy for Garrax, and has been told by Garrax that Garrax will 'know' if the guards betrays him. His orders are to look for signs of treachery from Mistress Steel, specifically if she is trying to find a way to attack Garrax or hide money from him. You consider what to do as you talk to the girls. Kinsey was right, only a handful actually want to leave. Even the slaves have simply gotten used to their job and when given freedom simply want better wages and a chance to decline certain clients, or refuse to do certain things with clients. Some even offer to try and get clients to tell them secrets and useful information, in exchange for better working conditions. What do you do about the drug-dealing guards?>Fire them>Warn them but keep them >Leave them alone>Let them keep trading, but demand a cut>Other (?)And the spy?>Fire him>Watch him and feed him information as needed>Other (?)This is the last vote of the thread, and wraps up the day-to-day stuff at the Pink Delight. Shee will ask Mistress Steel about the vampire murders in next update anyway.
>>43642783>Fire them>Watch him and feed him information as needed
>>43642783>>Fire them>>Watch him and feed him information as needed
You fire two of the guards, you've no love of drug dealers either. And the other you simply instruct Mistress Steel to watch him, and take care as to what he sees and hears. In time you'll try feeding him false information to see what Garrax does. But for now its more important to just have things appear normal.Once you've got the Pink Delight organised to your satisfaction, you and your friends have a final sit down discussion with Mistress Steel to hammer out details of how she will manage things from here, and how often you will be visiting to check on things. One last topic comes up.“So those vampires you were sending the Dust Ghosts after” you say to Mistress Steel “Who were they?”Mistress Steel shrugs “the first four where just to see if these ghosts could really live up to their reputation, the next round of targets were settling old scores. After that I would have used then against people important to Garrax, including several failed attempts – one on myself to divert suspicion.”“So you were just killing people at random?” asks Rainya, thankfully Kinsey and Dev are distracting Lirael elsewhere as you have this talk.“They weren't important” says Mistress Steel, as Rainya takes a breath to retort, her hands twitching, Kaelyn cuts across “I think we're done here, don't you Shee?” “For now” you agree, as Rainya looks visibly upset, its best to go home.As you wander out looking for your friends you put an arm around Rainya in the privacy of the waiting room and whisper to her “we stopped it, she won't be killing anyone else.”“But still” says Rainya “just, for no reason...can't you make her good or something? Turn her into a member of your clan?” Before you can explain that won't turn her good, Kaelyn speaks.“Speaking of” she says with a teasing grin “I was expecting you'd make your little clan much bigger these last few days, recruit for the cause and all that.”You give her a look “I don't see why I'd do that.”
“Well, a large clan means power to some vampires” says Kaelyn, “but that's ok, I get it, you'll be having a very big clan in time, I know” You can hear laughter edging into her voice but you don't get the joke.“I suppose....” you say, waiting for Kaelyn to explain herself“Why you and Rainya here!” says Kaelyn, putting an arm around each of you and pushing in between you “follower of the Ichor, goddess of family, can make hundreds of bodies, do I need to draw you a picture? Of course I'll need several datapads just to keep track of all the little monsters names and birthdays won't I? Will you name some after me?”Kaelyn jumps back and dodges Rainyas fist, laughing as your girlfriend swings again, blushing “Shut up!” Rainya half yells “I wasn't going to ask Shee about that until-”Rainya goes even redder as Kaelyn collapses on a chair laughing.“Until what Rainya?” you asks mildly, a grin appearing on your face.“Oh gods!” mutters Rainya, burying her face in her hands, then eventually starts laughing too.XXXAnd that’s it for todays thread.
