The Goddess Matriarch, from whom all other emerged from. The God Warbringer, first son and husband to Matriarch, who even now fights for Skaven in places unknown. The Smart One, a trickster god who is as much about wisdom and knowledge as he is about just being a smartass and pranking others. The River Unending, Goddess of the afterlife, who plucks the most noteworthy Skaven from the Stream of Life and giving them greater purpose in the hereafter. There are many others, both great and terrible, but these are the ones called to the most.Skaven revere their ancestors as demigods, or saints depending on perspective. They believe upon death, a Skaven goes to the Stream of Life, an endless river of souls where they wait for reincarnation. The river itself is alive as River Unending who will uplift the bravest, smartest, and other notable Skaven that performed great feats, to become demigods. Great warriors and generals join Warbringer as his warhost, fighting a never ending battle against the Dark Gods. The Most cunning join the Smart One and his Merry Band. These saints have their own shrines placed in family homes with small offerings of fruit and incense made to them for luck.>ChaosSince the Dark Gods aren't Dark anymore, there should still be someone to take their place. A more civilized aspect or just them under a different name- I'll make more in another post, running out of space here.I'm still working on how Ogres and Vampires can fit into this setting.
>>43486388>Since the Dark Gods aren't Dark anymore, there should still be someone to take their place.Apathy.Since elves, men and dwarves have stopped worshiping and praying to them, they have been hemorrhaging power.
Hm. I like the idea of these pantheons, and they really seem to work. They all work.I posted earlier in the thread, that Vampirism could be seen as a holy ritual, used to turn warriors into protectors. Like a paladin, except irreversible. Their culture is based around these valiant heroes and protectors who took up the oath of Undeath(An Oath to continue to protect others until far beyond your end has come), kind of like a Paladin would. They follow tenets and an oath, and after this, they eventually developed into something like Warrior-Protectors. Noblemen Knights. And they bestow their vampiric powers onto squires and the like. Get some Western Love into there, by making them the warrior-heroes who have legends and tales spread about them, and are chosen as Great Kings and Lords who live their lives to protect the world.I was thinking that Ogres could be the equivalent of Storm Giants in D&D 5e. Prophets and warriors who live in solitude after being raised just a little bit, and when they come out of solitude, they do so in order to protect the world. Like, prophets who see evil coming, thanks to arcane rituals and ancient lineages that trace back to the time of Dragons, and gather arms in order to stop it and turn back the tide, to maintain balance.
>>43486388>>43486545In fact, instead of just Vampirism, why not make Undeath an Oath, instead of a dark spell? Something like someone devoting themselves and maintaining their souls in their bodies, for the purposes of protecting the people that they care about, with different levels and power of undead having different effects and lengths of how long they keep the body moving.
>>43486545>Ogresbeings of nature, immensely strong yet naturally benevolent. Hunted relentlessly by elves and dwarves due to their valuable organs and flesh.
>>43486827I was thinking of that for Lycanthropes. Hunted down for their immensely valuable pelts, instead of them hunting humans. That would work out though. Why not take it one step further, and have them have been the former protectors of the forest, back when the elves still walked amongst them, and protected the Elves, until the Elves betrayed them?
>>43478161>skaven>fairNot even in your furriest dreams, OP
>>43486541Nah, I was thinking that the Gods are just as powerful but far more fickle with their gifts. Once they favored the Elves, but since they stalemated against the Dwarfs, and humans succeeded in routing them both, the Gods instead favored them. Over time, the Empire would replace their worship with something more organized, but at its core it was still worship of the Dark Gods. The Elves are closer to the base Chaotic nature of the gods, while humans found a more civilized aspect to worship, all based around the concept of Imperial Might.>>43486642>>43486545Sounds good, but I'll still probably tackle them last. Once I've fleshed out there enemies I can think of something that makes them the 'good guys' that while holding out pretty well, still struggle.Anyway first off: The Dwarf God: The Golden One(basically a Dwarf Horned Rat but less disease and more greed)
>>43486851Ogres wearing moss clothing, letting hundreds of songbirds roost in their shaggy hair...this stuff writes itself.
>>43486895Why not have humans engage in worshipping devils, instead of Gods? Create a system where the most powerful and lawful of Devils are worshipped in place of the Gods, since that creates a system where sorcerous devil-magic exists, it gives Tieflings a place with humans, fighting together for the honor of family and ally. It throws the whole "Tieflings are exiles" thing out, and creates honored and sought-after Tieflings, while also giving humans a way to access Clerical and Warlock abilities, and explaining how humans gained such massive power, by contacting reasonable otherworldly entities.
>>43486851Does that take into account the lycanthrope traits being passed from person to person like normal?Do the elves have werewolf breeding dens whre they force lycanthropes(who are of course completely self aware) to turn slaves into more lycanthropes? Are these slaves considered part of the lycanthrope race? The answer to that question is, of course, yes. Those slave Lycanthropes with the most desirable pelts would never be killed instantly, and instead would be forced to bite other slaves, in order to turn them into lycanthropes of the same form. The slaves become lycanthropic, but they aren't originally lycanthropic.Lycanthropy is a disease, and it becomes something legitimately important because the beasts whom these lycanthropes become (tigers, boars, wolves, etc) have been hunted to extinction by the Humans and the Elves.TYING THINGS TOGETHER, YES.>>43487068Hell yeah I will! I might eventually throw up my own homebrew world later, since I've got so much in it.
>>43486895>The Golden OneThere exists a Daemonic god of greed, not nearly as powerful as his cousins, but strong enough to have an identity. His flesh was made of gold, the greatest, richest, most beautiful metal. But it wasn't enough. He had the longest, greatest beard that was the envy of his siblings, but that wasn't enough. So from the rough gold ore of the world he crafted his first servants: the dwarfs. They threw themselves at his feet, shaking with fear and admiration with every hammerstrike that signaled the birth of another dwarf clan.He had millions of worshipers. But that wasn't enough. The humans, the elves. They worship his siblings instead. The Dwarfs knew the discomfort of their Golden God and took up arms. Though they lost as much as they won, they haven't given up. They dream of the day the other races fall in subservience to their lord and Master, the Golden One. But of course, it won't be enough.>WarpsmithingNot content with just a steel axe, or a gold necklace, the dwarfs seek to bring the metal closer to that of their god. Using techniques that infuse warp dust, flakes of crystallized Chaos, into their craft creating weapons, armor, and tools far more potent and destructive than their purer counterparts. The greatest of the Dwarf lords will stride into battle equipped head to toe in warp infused armor, encrusted with gold and jewels. The entire, radiant set giving off a green glow, making them look like a creature from another world.>DaemonhoodThe greatest servants of the Golden One are remade into something beautiful: a daemon prince of metal. From every orifice, molten metal(gold, silver, iron, or copper) flows outwards, enveloping the unfortunate dwarf in white hot pain before taking shape and becoming a living statue of liquid metal; the Great Smiths. These daemon princes fashion a weapon from their own metallic skin, and infuse it with the raw power of the warp, that can cleave through anything.
>>43487008Because I feel that the Great Game continues in some form on this world. Though I could include devils. I kinda shoehorned that in with what I originally had. How does it sound? Also they'll be called Teufel, because the Empire is !German.>The Four Great HousesEach one follows a Dark God as their patron. From this patron, power, favors, and soldiers flow. Dark pacts are made between the daemonic servants of their lord and themselves, giving way to the the devils: mortal humans touched by the Realm of Chaos, and have all the power such a boon grants. To survive in Imperial society, you must cast your lot with one of the Great Houses otherwise you will fall with the rest of the chattel in the streets.>KorperkWhere Khorne was a god of bloodshed and slaughter, Korperk is a god of war for the sake of conquest. The strong conquer, and the weak serve. Teufel of Korperk are born with unnatural strength that grow more as they mature. By the time they are inducted into the Great House of the Blutmeister, they are strong enough to rip a Vampire apart with their bare hands. These champions lead the First Great House to victory against the other Houses, and enemies of the Empire, screaming praise to Korperk as they reap a bloody harvest. At the end of battle, followers of the First House pile the heads of enemies they personally killed at the feet of the House Master, looking for advancement in rank and stature. The Master in turn places these skull on the burning altar of Korperk, tribute to giving his children strength to dominate the weak. That was !Khorne. If you guys think that was good, I'll write up the other gods.
>>43487447>>43487139>>43486895>>43486388Should I give myself a name tag to better mark what I'm writing?
>>43487447>>43487594Teufel for Germanic Influence, got it.If you tag yourself with a name, then I'll be able to attribute this when I work out the general mechanics for races and how they function in this world. For example, balancing out vampires and undead. I'm thinking of using either Pathfinder or 5E as the base system for how this works, and am in the process of thinking up a map right now, but I don't have a good program for that, and my stock's at home, so I won't be able to do much right now.As for the Four Great Houses, why not have each one follow a Dark God of some kind of Hedonism? The boons that they grant make those who serve the houses stronger, and capable of bearing Teufel.Anyways, as for Khorne, I like it! It's pretty fair and straightforwards. So is the theme that these houses follow going to be focused on different kinds of Darwinism? I'm actually curious! Keep going, Anon/Nametagcomingsoon! I'm keeping track of all of this, in order to work everything out mechanics-wise and NPC-wise.
>>43487671The Recorder/Gameplay Changer is currently going with the title: Compiler.I'll record everything you've got on your mind, man! Give it a word, throw some extra politics in, whatever. I'm good at politics, at least. Also, tell me whatever kind of system you want. I'm thinking of creating multiple human variants based on household. For example, Korperk-worshippers(Blutmeister) would, for 5E version, have a +2 Str, +1 Con, and various new features going on for them, instead of base human variants, who would come from the Tribes.
>>43487671Got it.>why not have each one follow a Dark God of some kind of Hedonism? That's the Second Great house. Speaking of which:>GenusschactThe Greatest sign of power is wealth. And the greatest use of wealth is for the betterment of self. The Second Great House practices this philosophy excessively. Every sort of depraved act one can think of, they do it, all in the name of Genusschact, god(des?) of hedonism. Genusschact teaches that as the weak serve the strong, the weak must also pleasure the strong. Humans and Teufel of the Second Great House wear their opulence, flowing robes of the most expensive fabrics that gently caress their flesh with every movement ensuring that even the most boring moments(anything outside the House) can still be enjoyed. In Imperial politics, the Second House is the most refined, dignified, and poised of the Houses. But don't accept an invitation to dinner, as once the doors close, the clothes come off, as does any sense of civility, or sensibility. The Second Great House has the corpses of 'used' slaves carted out daily, their bodies drained of their essence or simply abused too far.The Teufel of the Second House, the Fleishlerrer are unnaturally beautiful. Their unnatural daemonic features curl around their human like face with soft, silk like patterns that look more like a work of art than a creature capable of flaying your hide in a second. They live up to their name as they will teach you new ways to suffer, and enjoy every second of you agonizing demise. The Magic employed by the Second House matches their hedonism. Body fluids, burning incense, and pain all fuel rituals that render their prey incapable of moving. So enamored and overcome by lust, they simply drop their weapons and wait for delicious oblivion to be delivered by the Fleishlerrer's serrated blades.>I think I should also devote a section to how each house make their Teufel.
>>434879585E Standards, because it's easiest to make 5E races, by a country mile.Humans(Base): +1 to All Stats, PHB for otherHuman(Variant): +1 to 2 Stats, PHB for otherWhy not make all humans the general same, but make all of the developed and accepted household members your Teufel? The way it works is that by gaining favor in their house, they gain the favor of the Gods that they worship, and that touches them and changes their appearance and their physiology. Like a dark blessing. Each one does a different ritual to connect them to the God that they worship.>Blutmeister might take the blood of the human who slayed the most enemies on a battlefield, and then bathe them in that blood, shower them and drain them of their own blood through some kind of magic, and let the new blood take its place with a demonic ritual, letting them enslave and relish the owners of the blood and altering their bodies into a demonic creature not unlike a bearded devil, except the tendrills come from the head and arms. And each time they slay another X number of enemies, they grow bigger, stronger, etc. Something like that for Blutmeister's parents. Using demonic rituals to alter their bodies in order to produce the proper offspring for such a glorious house. As for the Genusschact, I'm still loving this, man. Keep going, and I'll record everything, and come up with gameplay ideas. Also, for elves, I was thinking of them worshipping eldritch creatures, like Aboleths. It would make sense, since they're ocean creatures, and corrupted completely, that they would serve as eldritch, manipulative, and evil an entity as Aboleths. Not as Gods, but as a general idea. But if you've got good ideas on how to build Teufels, I'm all for it! If you want me to work on anything, just let me know!https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pgCq-YsiJGqhsWekbtJkewhzjRrgmDjVwJ-XgkTkJ58/edit?usp=sharingFor people who want to look/comment on the work.
>>43487958Hey man, I'm going to make Orkish Subraces reflective of the order that they've joined. Each one will focus on something else, and have different features. Sound alright with you, Cap'n Abbot?
>>43487958>WidernaterbauerEvery building made, every structure built is a sign of dominance and power over nature, and the world. The Third Great House, also known as the Builder's house, worship Widernaterbauer, god of changing lands. As the Empire conquers, they build. Forests fall, the land scoured, and stone cut, flayed and lashed together to form buildings and towers, and walls, non of which should be capable of standing but they do. The Builders along know the secrets of their unnatural cities, their plans and blueprints driving lesser architects insane trying to understand how it works. The natural world must make way for the strength of the Empire, and the Third House is there to do it. The power of the Third House comes from their Teufel: the Architekts. With a few gestures, an Architekt can sculpt any matter in anyway it sees fit. With a snap of their fingers, a rock can become a clean cut block of stone, or a soldier can explode into a gory mess, their skin and bone breaking and reshaping into more building material for the Teufel. The cities of the Empire are testaments to the dominance of the Third House. A thousand upon a thousand rooms, all arrayed into a building only a few dozen square feet, each room can only be accessed by moving through each door a certain way. Dozens of streets that can lead to the city center, or to a dark alley where the detritus of the Empire gather to prey on the unwary.>>43488173Well that could work for most the houses, though I was thinking that is what happens when they achieve Princehood.>>43488254Go for it.
Remember Anons: Comments are appreciated!
>>43478161With all this weird interdimensional travel shit going on in Age of Sigmar...Crisis on Infinite Warhammers when?
>>43488326Hm. Humans are depraved bastards, right? Why not dabble in some more forbidden arts? For example, why not use enslaved races as breeding tools for objects of war? Or, if we're going REAL medieval, just women in general? Use them in order to breed teufels. Or provide the honor of teufel breeding to only the noblest women of the houses, who sacrifice their lives, sanity, and will to their demon-god, who takes their bodies as tribute and breeds them to produce the demon-children who are teufels. Then, upon becoming princes, they undergo differing rituals, depending on the house?
>>43488326>ZerfgottzWeakest in the political stage, but the greatest military branch of the Empire, the Fourth Great House carries the grim reminder all things must fall. Of course, they always exclude 'even the Empire'. The Fourth House instead is focused on the downfall of their enemies, accelerating decay and entropy. The patrons of Zerfgottz are surprisingly cheerful about all things. Even as they visit death and disease on their enemies, they remain giddy, singing happily as the world rots around them. Maybe it is to hide their own suffering, as patronage from Zergottz does take its toll on the physical body, and the Fourth House takes extreme measures to hide such things. Colorful clothing, perfumes, and ornate masks all hide their decaying features. The Teufel of the Fourth House, the Faulenhüllung are the emodiment of Zerfgottz. Bloated, gangrene flesh, cataract laden eyes, and an unholy stench that no perfume can cover, the mere presence of Faulenhüllung brings decay to those around them. Metal rusts, flesh rots, and everything decays. A warrior swinging his blade will be shocked to see his weapon rusting and disintegrating before it even strikes the Teufel's flesh, right before they fall over and die, their lungs rotting from breathing the corrosive air surrounding these festering creatures. Yet even as he falls, his head will be caught by the Faulenhüllung, slowly laid upon the rotting ground. Before he expires, he might even hear the Teufel singing in a joyful tone "Ashes, ashes, we all fall down."

Or, if we're going REAL medieval, just women in general? Use them in order to breed teufelsWell the Second House is all about using slaves for making Teufel.>Birth of the TeufelThe Blutmeister is a straightforward creation. A human comes to the Master of the House, asking for ascendance. The Master may sneer at the human, being Teufel himself, but will allow it if enough heads are piled at his feet. The heads are arranged in a circle around the Teufel-to-be, runes carved into the circle to initiate the ritual. The the whole thing is set on fire. If Korperk finds the human worthy, the heads of his victims will scream , the last of their life essence wrapping around the human, and in a single great explosion, the Teufel emerges. The Fleishlerrer's creation...well it's done behind closed doors. A female slave is led away to the birthing chamber with the appointed chosen. What happens next only the Master knows but a week later, a new Teufel will throw open the doors, licking fresh blood off his claws. The Architekt is far more secretive than even the Second House. A chosen is led to the Corridors of Widernaterbauer, a small, unassuming hut that is far, far, FAR bigger on the inside. Endless corridors and hallways mark the trial of the chosen. Either they lose their way, and become lost forever,or find their way to the center to be blessed by the Dark God himself. Every city has a Corridor of Widernaterbauer built somwhere. Where? Only the Architekts know. Bad things happen to those who stumble upon it by accident. Very bad...>Out of space, Faulenhüllung next post

>>43488804>Classes done today, heading home so it might be a while before I post againMind adding some stats for my dwarf idea? I wonder how they'd match up stat wise>>43487139
>>43488917Sure thing, man. And I'll try to keep the thread as alive as I can.ANY COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED. LINK TO GENERAL IDEAS ARE LISTED BELOW. CURRENTLY STATING DIFFERENT RACES.https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pgCq-YsiJGqhsWekbtJkewhzjRrgmDjVwJ-XgkTkJ58/edit?usp=sharing
>>43488981Dwarves have been statted. Hopefully, not completely badly, either.
We need some writefags in here. Setting like this needs some fluff.
>>43489422I can fluff the setting out when he finishes describing it.I am a writefag, but until I know all I can about the races, I might contradict what Abbot's got in mind for everything. Also, I might draw out a map for this in a few hours, when I get home, since classes aren't done for me yet.
From what I've seen so far, this is some good shit anons. My question is though, what about the Tomb Kings? What are they like now, and why did they split from the vampires? Also, is Nagash now Jesus?
>>43489700>why did they split from the vampires?they might be off in seek of eternal peace, and the vampire's charge of protecting the world is too short sighted to them. Maybe they are former vampires who have chosen to not meddle with the world and let things take their course. They look at the long run because they know they will be around for it.However, they can also see the awful things that are being done.
>>43489806>>43489700I'm no Abbot, but I feel like the Tomb Kings are going to be the basis of the Undead communities. Personally, I think that it would be interesting to make Vampirism a class of undead Paladin, that took an oath of near-immortality, in order to protect the people who would be persecuted. Maybe Undeath is the way of a Kind God to let people live their lives out? I dunno. But making Undeath an Oath to protect the people would make Dracula equivalent to Warrior Jesus, and that would be awesome.
>>43486851>>43487018>>43487100if this is sort of mirror-lycanthropy, do it's victims instead simply turn into beasts but keep their minds?I think that if it was just a temporary thing that began, say, as some desperate spell by the last of the faeries/sprites to bring people closer to nature, to show them what they had lost through the eyes of the creatures they had slaughtered if only for a short time. Ironically, it too has become corrupted by the society that has arisen since.
>>43489892My inner tragedy buff absolutely adores this. I'm adding this to the general page of what I've got so far. Lycanthropy being used in order to try to bring people close to nature, was an idea I'd thought of, but I think that with this, they should definitely keep their minds. It really does show how bad the society's become. It's a good point. "Harvesting our bretheren for pelts isn't all that bad! We get fashionable jewelry out of it!"
>>43489976works great as a wepon for the aristocrats to threaten and dispose of one another with too. Warring families might try and poison the house's next in line, o they might try to curse him and laugh as his social standing means naughtthese former imperial citizens, should they escape or simply be abandoned could certainly add to character depth for the lycanthrope race.
>>43490091I am perfectly fine with using this to add depth to political intrigue. I'm going to say though, while not my world, this is definitely something to keep in mind. By using this, we can introduce a lot more depth. I'm keeping it. Thanks for the input, man! Want me to tribute you?
>>43490162Also, Halflings should be brutal, violent, cannibalistic warlords. Someone remind Abbot of that idea, when he gets back. Hobbits who function as beastslayers.
>>43490237Like, I've got everything that Abbot puts down as being by Abbot. Everything I do is listed as being done by compiler, on the doc I've got this saved at. Do you want to be "tributed" to your unput?
>>43490235On top of that, Responsible Kobolds, if we have space for them. They're pacifistic magical item craftsmen, who seek nothing more than the utter peaceful use of magical items.
>>43490251credit the OP if you have to, he started this.
>>43484185I dunno man, that's a bit of a stretch.
>>43489700Well Nagash basically invented undeath and necromancy, right? And since it's seen as a power of righteousness in this setting, wouldn't he basically be the Tomb King's Sigmar?
Nice to see this thread getting more attention. Now I'm just gonna flesh out the existing stuff while I brainstorm something for the elves.>Greenskins and the EmpireOne word to describe their relation: Aversion. While they dislike the Empire, they normally aren't the ones to attack first unless provoked, or are mounting an expedition into Imperial Lands to reclaim lost artifacts. Likewise the Empire doesn't see the Greenskins as much of a threat unless they are directly in the way of a campaign...which is very oftenThis history dates back all the way to the First Monastery of the Orcs in Blackfire Pass. It was here that the first masters had learned the Two-Fold Way, the two martial art styles from which all Orc martial arts descend from: The Thrusting Palm(Way of Mork) and the Swinging Fist(Way of Gork). With the fall of the Elves and Dwarfs the Humans that would become the Empire, laid siege to the Monastery for twenty long years. Though they fought bravely, the Orcs couldn't replenish their losses the way the humans could and eventually there weren't enough brothers to defend any longer. As the walls began to crumble, Abbot Gokwaz ordered all but his closest followers to leave through secret tunnels in the goblin caverns, sealing them as they left, taking whatever artifacts and scrolls they could carry. In a final stand, Gokwaz and his twenty brothers held out against the tide of Chaos for seventeen hours, weathering every assault. But with each victory another one of his Orcs fell, until Gokwaz was alone. Battered, and wounded, the human champion Hjolref thought the Abbot would be an easy victory. He was proven wrong as even with his dying breath, he parted Hjorlref's head from his shoulders. It was a hollow victory for the Orcs, as the Humans sacked Monastery and built the Imperial Palace on the ruins. T
>>43490302>>43490235>>43490091>>43489700>>43489806All sounds great. But given my schedule tonight and how long it took me to think what I have now, I'm not sure it can all be done in one thread...
>>43490444Weba Cap'n Abbot.>>43490432ASK ABBOT ANYTHING. TRIPLE AAA. Lol, but Nagash being responsible would be pretty interesting. Make him a warrior-lord who wants to save the fuck outta people.>>43490366Unnamed OP Credited.
>>43490529Doesn't need to be done in one thread, mate. I'll throw it up tomorrow, or, if you edit your email into the document, I'll share the doc with you to work on, and we can throw it into additional threads. I'll also work on general stuff that you might need to get some help to get done! Consider me your assistant.
>>43489700Well yeah, he could be considered a warrior hero, but I'm not sure how to do it. Originally he first learns about dark magic from the dark elves. Gotta figure out how to make Dark Elves work in this setting first.
>>43488789Hey, what happened to the drawing of the Skaven white mage, Orc Monk and Vampire Bard?
>>43490619Make the Dark Elves an extinct race who brought enlightenment to the other races, through magic and godly divinity, and then have them be rejected, in place of the worship of devils. They taught some mortals the secrets of Undeath, in order to fight against the devil-worshippers, and restore balance to the world?
NOTICE: You know that your world is fucked up when the Drow are the otherworldly savior-people who gave magic to the people to defend themselves.
>>43490720Wll technically drow are anti-elves, and since the elves are the huge assholes, they're anti-asshole as a result, and therefore good.
a thought: Skaven are omnivorous, but recently they have been pushing towards a diet more focused on fruits, nuts and veggies due to the depletion of natural ecosystems in many areas.
>>43490973Throwing it into the document, mate. Thank you for contribution, Anon!
Okay I think I got something for 'High Elves>Chaos ElvesLong before humans took up arms against them the Elves ruled over the much of the world. With their martial prowess, many kingdoms bowed their heads to them. With such strength came complacency. Races unknown today would surrender at the mere mention of their approaching armies. Client states and Vassals set up across the planet, tribute flowing to Ulthuan like water. When Chaos was unleashed on the world, Aenerion was quick to see the power that would be given to him if he made fealty to such gods. In an instant, the High Elves were gone, and the Chaos Elves took their place. Kingdoms that once owed alliance to them, became fodder, sacrifices in the millions were made to the Gods, granting many boons and gifts to the already powerful Elves. Vassal states that realized what was happening rose up to battle their once masters, but fell against such an unstoppable tide of disciplined steel infused with Chaotic strength. When they came across the Dwarfs, they though the stunted, ugly little creatures would fall just as easily. They were wrong. For the first time, the Elves encountered a force as powerful as them. The Golden One's gifts allowed the Dwarfs to match the Elven ferocity. Elven Champions dueled Warpsmiths. Daemon Princes were scorched as Great Smiths cleaved through them with weapons of liquid metal. The Elven advance came to a halt. The Gods were displeased. As King after King passed away on the battlefield, their blood soaking the axes of the Dwarf Warpsmiths, the Gods started to look elsewhere for champions. They found it in the primitive, but numerous and warlike humans. The elves could only watch in horror as their masters fashioned their new favorite pets with blessing meant for them, turning them into a force that couldn't be squashed by the depleted numbers of the Elves. >Getting cut off again. continue in another post.
>>43478161Where do the Lizard men fit in?
>>43490672Yeah that one. Why was it removed the first time?
>>43491034The Lizardmen are the ones who protect dragons? No idea, here, man.
>>43491034For a thought, the Lizard men are more mayan like, and are looking for a way to contact their gods via the stars. They are the most advanced race in the setting, and are pretty mysterious
>>43491095I'll add it! If they're more Mayan Like, I feel like they wouldn't be quite as advanced, so maybe a civilized people who focus on the contacting of their Gods, who wish goodness and fortune on them?
>>43479392I'm Spanish and I give this my approval, made me chuckle.
>>43491117The Mayans were pretty advanced in some areas m8, such as math, especially when compared to the civilizations surrounding themI mean, just look at their calanders, that's some uncannily good accuracy right there
>>43491020With their new gifts, the Chaos infused humans smashed into Elf and Dwarf lines with equal abandon. The depleted forces of the Elves and Dwarfs buckled under the ferocity of the human assault, with the Dwarfs retreating to their mountain fortresses, and the Chaos elves abandoning the colonies and fortifying Ulthuan. With nothing left to oppose them, the new Humans took over the once great cities claimed by the Elves and Dwarves and built their own civilization upon it.The Chaos Elves, abandoned by their masters, have fortified their island nation into an impenetrable fortress, waiting for the inevitable attack. But it never came. As soon as their enemies were vanquished, the humans turned on each other. Still the Elves made no moves to reclaim their lost territory. Even now they hide behind their fortified Ulthuan, their navy the bane of sailors the world over. The Chaos elves have split into numerous subfactions that argue and skirmish with each other, depleting their already thinning numbers on pointless battles. There is even rumor in Ulthuan of elves that reject Chaos altogether, and instead left Ulthuan to pursue a more 'pure form' of magicThe current High King Finubar doesn't care for any of this. Even as his kingdom burns around him, he harbors dreams of revenge and conquest. To see his people put back in their place as the favored Champions of the Dark Gods. How? Well that is a secret he keeps to himself.
>>43491228Threw it in, man! I'm going to be going AFK in just a little bit, for just a little bit! Try to keep the thread alive for me!

>>43491228By the way, I realize that this puts humanity in Chaos' favor far earlier than before the Empire was actually made, but given the fractitious nature of Chaos, I'm assuming it doesn't reach the height of it's power till much later.
>>43485623>>43485667>>43485698Suggestion:Skaven females are gigantic, much like the original, but they are very well groomed and considered and hold high officesThe noble ones have roles of priestesses, courtiers and generally stuff that doesn't require them to move around a lotThey are constantly courted by skaven, with very intricate patterns of seduction and courteous loveMany females are constantly being praised, sung to, washed in presents and flowers by countless suitors wearing their best garbSame goes for females of the common folk, who take on roles of innkeepers, "mamas" of communities and suchThey tend to be very loving and motherly with males (some of which are their sons)>inb4 it's still gross and creepy with inbreeding and obese baby-churning anthro-rats, it's still Warhammer for god's sake
>>43491389a lot of the size in actual WHF comes from the warpstone mutationbut if female skaven are gonna be bigger they are gonna be physically bigger, stronger and tougher than males. Like Hyenas.
>>43491264Well then any lore I throw in is gonna be in small tidbits.>Skaven magicSkaven magic follows only one school. The sun. The orb of light that they once basked under before being forced to retreat underground by the dwarfs is just one reminder of what they are fighting for. Sun magic is a duality of different schools rolled into one. It can be as destructive as a raging inferno consuming all in its path, or can be a warming flame that heals and cauterizes wounds. Some might argue that what they have is a more primitive version of the Lore of Fire, but the Skaven even today claim their power comes from the Sun, and its caretaker, the Matriarch.
>>43491491I admit I forgot it was because of warpstoneI liked the idea of keeping them as "motherly figures"The fact that they are all big and "soft" doesn't stop them from being incredibly strong when the need arises, though
>>43491491>>43491543I prefer >>43485698because it's literally the opposite of what the Skaven are. Homemakers are the last thing one would expect when it comes to Skaven.plus it keeps in line with the whole "civil rodent" thing. The mothers do look after the children while the males gather food.
>>43491491>>43491389>>43485698I think I can make something that is a mix of these>Skaven societyThe more numerous males fill many of the roles of their society. Warriors, priests, seers, cooks, smiths, and so on and almost entirely male. Females have a different path. There are females that are considered 'fertile'. These females will be responsible for creating the next generation of Skaven, and are well groomed, fed, and protected. These Skaven generally come across as obese, leading to the Skaven belief that fat means healthy, at least for females. Fat means you eat well, it means you're fertile enough to where you are fed by others, and that you have a lot of stored nutrients for the next generation. Females that aren't as fertile or simply sterile, take up roles that are normally given to males. They take on male names, wear male clothing, and are essentially treated as male. They are still referred to as 'she' and sometimes males may take one as mate, either because he cannot secure time with a breeder or want someone more long term. How's this?
>>43491625Sounds pretty furry to me m8, but that's what you get when you take an anthro race and don't make it disgusting, like regular skavenStill pretty good though
Mister Compiler has returned! To throw all of your lore into a wonderful, wonderful document that contains a good day of hard work! And I'm fully caught up right now, so this should be all good!
>>43491705Well I'm trying to make something that isn't basically "human-rats". Try to create a culture that can't be replicated by a human but still make them something a little familiar...sort of. Sounded better in my head. Do you get what I mean?
>>43491796Hm. Personally, I don't see much that's wrong with it. It's a humanoid society, that focuses on making Skaven adventuring lil' shits who can do what another society could do. I think that it makes more sense to have it this way, and as long as it makes sense, and isn't gratuitously sexually charged(RATS, BUT WHAT DO I KNOW?), it's not that bad.
>And here's a little bit of fluff I just came up withSmith-Brother Rugwut awoke with a start. A few inches from his face was the young Skaven Pula grasping at his smithing hammer. The Goblin grunted and snatched his precious tool away from the young skaven. "Wotcher doin' up so late yung'un?" he asked in his familiar scratchy voice. Pula tried to think of some convenient lie but simply shrugged. There was no fooling this gobbo. He's seen enough Skaven come and go to know what she was doing."I'm going Rugwut." she said plainly."An' where you be goin'?" Rugwut asked. He got off his smithing anvil, and tossed a few logs on the forge's dying fire. "To fight-fight the Stunties" Pula growled, anger creeping in her voice."Oh, fightin' da stuntiez eh?" Rugwut didn't even turn to her, instead fanning the flames until they burned hot."An' do ya know how?"Pula puffed out her chest. "I'm goin' to join the Spike Tails!" she declared proudly. She deflated as Rugwut shushed her. "Not so loud, you iz gunna wake da bruddaz!" Rugwut grabbed a biscuit from a nearby barrel and tossed it to Pula, gesturing for her to sit next to him, and warm but by the forge. Pula nervously edged closer as the old goblin grabbed a biscuit for himself. "So 'ow iz you gunna find da Spikey-Tailz eh? I dun recall dem being too open 'bout where dey keep dere hidey-hole."Pula made ready to argue back than stopped. She expected Rugwut to stop her. 'Too danjerus', 'You iz too yung', 'You be puttin da whole moneestary in danjah', or something like that. Not this."I-ah." she stammered. She actually didn't know where the Spike Tails were. That did put a hitch in her plans.Rugwut patter her on the back. "Ya know, I knew ol' Skeekuz One Paw" he said wistfully. "Back den he was just 'Skeek da Meek'." he chuckled. "Always gettin scared o' his own shadow, running at da first loud noise. Squirtin' da musk at da first sign o' danjah."
>>43491607this is a great solution >>43491625, not altogether disgusting and not exclusive and "too clean"Also, if we're going for Bizarro-Warhemmer, I have my contribution to make about Halflings and Ogres.Halflings are still extremely resistant to Chaos, but as opposed to the original ones, they are very warrior like and wage a constant war on ChaosTheir core values are honor and chivalry and they produce among the fiercest warriors around, very chivalrous and paladin-like.The Moot is a bastion, a rich land beset on all sides by the forces of evil and the borders are heavily defended by the famed pony-riders and batallions of fearless Halfling Demon-Slayers.I'm thinking of some sort of trench war all around the country. They also have sects who worship Phineas, God of Smoking, and behave like the Hashishims of medieval Arabia, entering battle-trance through the use of psychotropic herb (think doped-out, pint-sized sneaky repurgators). They use dissimulation through smoke-based spells and tricks, sowing discord in the enemy lines and conjuring thick intoxicating fog. They also produce a lot of investigators that help other "good" realms root out corruption and work closely with the ork monasteries. All their gods are revered and active, priests of Esmeralda act as the priests of Shallya might, Gaffey (god of building) has a heavy bend on fortifications, gods of healing and fertility keep their lands clean and bountiful, which helps them hold off the constant attacks. They also have support from Ogres, skilled merchants who despise violence and help maintaining supply lines throughout the Old World to the Vampire and Skaven bastions.Ogres have a direct democracy system and are mostly established in caravan-like groups, they rely heavily on Halflings for their defense as their society loathes violence and they are renowned for their silver-tongues and love of refined deliquacies. What do you think ?
>>43491852I think a reoccurring mistake homebrew threads like these tend to make is focusing on unneccisry details like the sexuality of races. It's not really important to the game outside of fleshing out gender roles more clearly. Even then, if you have a PC show up as a female skaven and she is lean and aware instead of horribly bloated it's just a matter of demonstrating her attitude towards males rather than devoting a page and a half to describing notSkaven sexuality. Most players can fill in the blanks from that.
>>43491970Added.>>43491970Omfg, I mentioned Halflings as dark warlords earlier, and this just takes the cake. I'm throwing this part into the doc, man. Thanks Anon. As for Ogres, there's still some debate on them. I think that noble forest protectors, or ancient prophesizers are pretty fun alterations to them. I'm adding though, because we have yet to have a merchant race, and think that this is a spectacular opportunity.>>43492036That's what I meant. As long as the race isn't focused entirely on sex, which would mean that every part of the society is based on sexuality, then it's a perfectly legit race to use. I said what I did because rats breed incredibly quickly, not because there should be more, but because as long as that's not a primary focus, it draws attention towards the other aspects of the race's society.
>>43491970For the Ogres, what resembles the most leaders are "outstanding citizens", ogres of high morality that act as advisors and mediatorsThe Halflings have a King, Edward Surefoot, who is the paragon of virtue and honor, think Richard Lion-Heart without the "abandoning my country to wage crusades" part, because his crusade is right on his doorstepHowever, in the Kingdom of Moot, knights aren't hereditary, but rather elected among a council of peers, depending on their valor. Kings are elected in the same way, among a council of the most respected Knights. It's very much a meritocracy rather than an aristocracy.
>>43492117Adddded to the doc. You guys are on a roll! I'll give Ogres +s to Cha, when we finish their development.
>>43492099Ah man I'm glad you like my Halfling ideaTo be honest I didn't read the entire thread so I didn't see the debate about OgresI was thinking about it because most of the time, you see Halfling merchants with Ogre mercenaries guarding the caravans and the idea of reversing it appealed to meAlso one of the inspirations for my chivalrous Halflings are the Lilties from FF Crystal Chronicles (without the animu look), primarliy for armors and weaponsI'm thinking about batallions of halflings in heavy armor wielding halberds and crossbows, entrenched in impregnable positions à la Verdun, fending off waves of Chaos tainted humans
>>43491964Pula was surprised that the leader of the Spike Tails sounded so...meek."Yeah Skeek wuz alwayz gettin inta trubble cuz a dat. One day, 'e came ta me an' asked 'Oi Rugwut, wot kinda fing can I do ta stop being so scaredy all da time?' Well I dun know much 'bout dat. Spend all me life down 'ere making da weapons fer da bruddaz wot do all da fightin'." he pointed up stairs. "Still I kuld see 'e was in a real state. So I told 'im I could make 'im a shiney bit to wear on da neck? He could wear it an' it wuld bring gud luck. All a lot of Squig wotzit, but it calmed 'im down. So I dun made it fer 'im. Good thing too cuz I found out latah dat night 'e wuz 'eadin' out wif some uvva skaven ta crump da Imperial Humiez. Big mistake."Rugwut chewed thoughtfully on his biscuit as he tossed another log on the forge fire. "See at dat time da humiez had an Emprah. Eidelweizz da Silky as she called 'erself. Real nasty piece o' work. She come from da Secund 'Ouse see, an' when she made Empress, a whole squigload o' Tooifull were taken to da streets. Skeek though they wuz gonna blow up da barrakz o' da Secund Ouse. Instead one a dem Arkytekz found dem. Blew up most o' dem. Da rest ran back to da sewaz an' tried ta run fer it."Pula leaned in, as she never heard of this story growing up. "Problem iz dat da Blutmeystaz were down dere too. Lookin fer mutantz and wotevah else to practice dere new choppaz on. Dey found Skeek's band an' got stuck in. Oh Skeek's band fought real 'ard lemme tell ya, but in da end, a Tooifull is just too strong fer a bunch a Skaven yoofs." Rugwut paused, noticing Pula was practically breathing down his neck. "Some space mind ya." he muttered. Pula quickly retreated, stammering out an apology."Da tooiful wot killed 'iz mates was some bloke by da name o' Max da Red. Real stoopid bloke. He got dun killin' da uvva Skaven, den got ready to snik up lil Skeek. Ya know what stopped 'im?" Pula shook her head. Rugwut smiled.
so what's gonna happen to this idea? Gonna add it to 1d4?
>>43492293>so what's gonna happen to this idea? Gonna add it to 1d4?No idea yet. I'm not the original creator, but this idea could work well in literally any idea, so I wanted to make a variant of it rules-wise, for 5E, since I run a bunch of 5E tables. So I'm compiling everything for the people to watch over, and add to, and offering to add stuff myself, if wanted. Right now, I'm just watching, and seeing people come up with awesome ideas.
>>43492289Compiler loves all things. But he loves brutal, barbarian Halflings the most! And honestly, I see that a lot myself, so I thought that it would be fun to see that kind of thing, too. I was thinking of making them evil, but I actually don't know much about the Warhammer setting, so what you said seems much more reasonable to me....Also, that actually sounds kinda badass.
>>43492291Rugwut held up a small medallion, with a chip of a Blutmeister's blade still jammed inside it. "Ol' Rugwut'z shiney saved it. Remembah wot I said 'bout Max bein' reel stoopid. Cuz da git tried ta twist da choppa out and broke it up. While 'e wuz lookin' at 'iz buzted choppa, Skeek took 'iz own blade and snikked Max up good. "And then what-what?" Pula asked excitedly."When 'e came back, Skeek gave me da shiney. Said 'e didn't need it no more. Den left." Pula stared at Rugwut for a while, then coughed. "A nice story Rugwut. but what-what does that have to do with me?!" she demanded impatiently. Rugwut smiled. "It wuz to distract ya till Abbot-Rokwazza woke up." he pointed behind them.Towering over the two was the grumpy Battle-Abbot. "Pula. Yer da' came askin' me if I dun saw 'iz gurl." he grabbed the young Skaven by the ear. "Yoofz deze dayz..." the abbot sighed as he dragged Pula away. "Come back again latah and I'll tell ya why Skeek go 'is name 'One Paw'!" Rugwut called to her.
>>43492405Added, Boss Abbot!
>>43492099Why not both for the ogres? You have conservatives who call for war against the elves, to reclaim their homelands, while others, the mercantile ones, say they have to adapt with the times to survive. Now obviously, something else needs to happen besides the destruction of their homelands for some ogres to turn to the mercantile profession, but I dunno what.
>>43491970If you can write up some backstory go ahead. I'm gonna take a break for a bit, as I've been putting off this assignment all day.
>>43492479Actually... Great idea. If you wanna elaborate on that, since I don't know much about Warhammer lore, I'm perfectly fine with that. Just instruct me in any way that I can help!As for the stuff you thought about with Ogres, that could work spectacularly. Double-sided cultures, that go against each other.>>43492510I'll handle the organization of everything, and ensure that it all works and flows together as well as possible. >>43492371Well in WH they are mostly neutral and trying to not get involved in other people's shit, just doing their thing and partying hardRather than shifting all races from "good" to "evil" and vice versa, I think it might be interesting to reverse things like the degree of implication and culture of some nationsThey still party hard and love their food, though, because Halflings will be Halflings (Halfling food, mead and wine is also one of the reasons the Ogres love them so much)>>43492479I like it, it adds a bit of depth>>43492510I'm supposed to be working on an essay right now and I should probably get back to it too ...I'll try and write something about Edward Surefoot tonight

>>43492602will doit feels me with joy to see /tg/ Get Shit Done and to be able to participatetruly the best board
>>43492702Yeah. I just recently found out about this board, and holy shit, this really is my favorite board, beyond a shadow of a doubt! I'm just recording stuff for now, but I can't wait to game-system all of this stuff!
How do the Old Ones fit into this?Since they made all the races to combat the ever-growing threat of chaos. Would the elves, dwarves, and humans be simply utter failures, while skaven and orks and ogres and etcetera weren't?Also, speaking of ogres and the old ones, apparently they're almost the perfect race to fight chaos, but were too stupid in orginal warhammer. Are they too weak now? Or something else?
>>43492795Hm. Again, not a Warhammer fanatic, but I feel like indeed that would be the case. The Humans, Dwarves, and Elves are complete failures, and the Skaven, Orcs, and Ogres weren't. Maybe Undeath became a method to fix the failure-races, and was bestowed by dark elves to the mortal races, so that they could fight against Chaos, but because of the corruption, most of them became unable to use this newfound power to become a sentinel of undeath. And Ogres are likely not too stupid now, but perhaps they already had been fighting against Chaos for a long time, but with the building of the three races developing power further and further, more and more, until even Ogres became disillusioned with war, being naturally peaceful creatures, they seek now to live without being destroyed, as any beaten and battered culture would.
>>43492795Does that sound like a fair idea? Incorporating the humanity of the strain of war on a stable mind and a stable people, over so many years...
I'll start posting as the King of Halflings now because that's more practical>>43492765I think you can probably just tweak the Warhammer System and use it as is, just adding or removing modifiers. It's mostly fluff.>>43492795I think in this setting, they are intelligent enough, but not numerous enough, too divided, or maybe intelligent enough to be afraid and try and dodge the menaceIt would be cool to have Ogres use magic in the same way as humans, with Ogre Magic Colleges. They are as intelligent (if not more) than humans, able to comprehend the winds of magic>>43492847>>43492795That's actually a great idea. Humans, Dwarves and Elves got arrogant, were tempted by Chaos and fell to their own hubris. As for vampires, maybe have a Neferata (first of the vampires, ancient human empress and great sorceress) that saw her people gradually fall to chaos and discovered that Chaos had no grasp on the realm of Death and thus chose to "damn" herself and her closest followers so they can be eternally vigilant to the threat.Vampirism isn't just a power that gives them dominion over men, it's a duty to fight Chaos forever. And in this setting, Vampires would be the paragons and champions of Morr, reclaiming and purifying life that has been tainted by chaos. There's a whole tragic dilemma about "I am killing these people / raising the dead for their own good, but I still hate myself for all the violence" going on for the Vampires. They're supposed to be the wardens of humanity, but their own charge has turned against them and the only way to save them is to wage war against them. This is why Vampire lords take such good care of the few human communities under their rule and try their best to delay as much as possible the time when they need to turn them too.>>43492986Ogres being tired of waging war seems like a great idea. Also it would justify them trying to support the forces of Order in non-military ways (supply routes, etc...)
>>43493138Alright, sounds good, mate. I'll look up the Warhammer system when I get a chance, and am not compiling stuff in class.I also loved the idea of humans, dwarves, and elves falling to Chaos, and evil, because it just seems like it'd be the most reasonable idea. Think about it. In almost all Fantasy Settings, Humans run amock, Dwarves have massive civilizations, and Elves are stuck-up as all shit. It makes sense that they would give in in order to further demonstrate their powerful superiority. As for Ogres, that makes a lot of sense, and it works out spectacularly. I love the idea of Ogres being able to perform magic, because it really turns what's usual on its head. Like when I got a Cyclops spellblade in my 5E D&D campaign. As for Vampires, that fits really well with what I was thinking of originally for vampires, making them a noble race of self-sacrificing heroes. The Opposite-Paladins of the world, who accept the infinity of undeath, and being trapped in their bodies, in order to fight against the Evils of the world, and protect the people.[spoilers]Like a Paladin[/spoilers]It's a choice, a duty, a responsibility, and an honor, to accept vampirism and undeath, in general.Vampires functioning as the wardens of humanity, and trying to prevent them from performing acts of unspeakable evil is really fun, imo, and I'm gonna be adding this to the page. It makes things so much easier for the way this works.Vampires are self-sacrificing warlords, who are willing to give up the afterlife, just to save the people from suffering. It makes a self-sacrificing vampire that isn't a total blood-sucking pussy.I'll add that to Ogres, too, when I get a chance. And craft a page for Vampires! >>43493440Got it downloaded, man! Thanks for that! I'll throw up all of the mechanics-things when I get a chance to! Awesome!
>>43493138Then how would Nagash and the Tomb Kings fit into this?
>>43493568Lemme read up on the Warhammer lore, and I'll try to throw a good idea of how they all tie together in order to get everything closed up. I shall be known as... LOOSE-END-GUY.
>>43493568Ah wait, nevermind, I am blind, for I did not see somebody mentioning him further up the thread.
>>43484651>>And what're lycanthropes doing in this world? What about having them be the noble knights of the vampires? Acting as the instrument of the lord they serve under. Viewed as regal and stalwart in the face of the wicked humans and disfigured elves.
>>43492847I was thinking that instead the Nehekaran civilization had been struggling with their Chaos brethren up North. They don't really know of any kind of magic except for the Chaotic stuff the northerners use, but as they try to use it, it corrupts them a little more each time. To counter it, the nobility have created a caste of priests to wield this magic, that need to be executed for their own good after a certain amount of time. This is taxing on the morale of the Nehekarans, and their manpower.Eventually Nagash, a low ranking priest, is visited by the Traitor/Dark/Whatever Elves that split from the Chaos faction to teach him a more controllable form of magic. Still potent and dangerous, but not nearly as corrupting as unfiltered Chaos magic practices by the higher echelons. At least that's what I was thinking of.
>>43493590>>43493597>>43493654I think having the Tomb Kings disinterested of worldly politics and being mostly contemplative sages locked in their pyramids is a good ideaKind of having a mindset like isolationist elves would have in Warhammer Vanilla>higher power, higher knowledge>can't be bothered to help others because they have "higher matters" to attend to>they are actually fighting the good fight, but on a level so abstract and remote that it's practically useless>the less isolationist do grant shelter and advice to thos who fight for Order, but not to the point of constituting a threat to Chaos>their land being almost an extension of the Realm of Morr, they are almost completely incorruptible and just stand on the edge>their frontiers aren't even that well guarded, because Chaos doesn't want to go near this place, their influence is too weak
>>43492795Yeah, basically the Old Ones created a bunch of races, and nurtured them in hopes they would be a counter to Chaos. Instead they fell to it, and the races that would have fallen to Chaos instead rise up to combat it.Though even in a warhammer world it isn't a game of absolutes. There are still fringe sects of each race that go against the rest. Just as there are the Chaos Elves, there are the Elves dedicated to fighting it, and just as the Northmen in vanilla warhammer were devoted to Chaos, the Northmen in this warhammer are devoted to fighting it.Might even be a really small faction of dwarves out there that resist the will of the Golden One.
>>43493635Actually, something that we were thinking of were that lycanthropes are being hunted by the major power player races(Humans, Elves, and Dwarves) for their pelts, as they've driven the animals that they can now transform into to extinction through brutal hunting methods without care for the environment. Then, nature(fey and sprites) created lycanthropy in order to show the three races the beautiful bits of nature that they were missing, in order to try to rebond with them.. Unfortunately, it created a system where infectious lycanthropy is used as a political tool in order to banish/hunt members of other human households, and lycans are kept in order to infect other lycanthropes so that more pelts can be hunted for.>>43493654Hmmm. Again, I don't know all that much about the Warhammer setting yet, but I do think that we've got a great idea for what Undeath is, but we can definitely use this in order to create different magical systems for humans who wish to play as non-chaos-obsessed-bastard children. I'm going to add that to the vampire's page, since that helps us create a cool idea for how Undead are crafted.>>43493713Awesome, Ed! This is spectacular! Going to add this to the Vampire page, underneath "Tomb Kings" in order to understand stuff, but I still believe that vampirism and undeath could also be used to create noblemen who seek to fight the chaos. Maybe a little bit of compromise? Will explain next post, I think I'm running out of room, and am too lazy to check.
>>43493736>Might even be a really small faction of dwarves out there that resist the will of the Golden OneYeah, reverse Chaos-dwarves in the NorthTheir God is indeed Hashut, but it's a good one>A great white bull who is a force of Nature and Rebirth>Mythologically opposed to the Golden One>Semi-nomadic dwarves riding bulls and yaks, driving large herds of cattle accross the tundra>culture is a mix of mongol and native american (respect for nature, giving thanks to the prey or cattle when you kill it)>In summer they go up North and are rarely seen>In winter they are forced to drive the herds south and clash with the Chaos forces>Maintain trade relations with the northern humans that aren't corrupted and sometimes find themselves allies of circumstance.
>>43493880They also revere white bullsThey have runic magic in the form of war-paints (when they face an incredible danger, they might go as far as slaughtering a white bull in a ritual to Hashut and paint the warriors of the tribe with a paint mixed with its blood, granting unmatched courage, strength and stamina)Shamans of Hashut perform all kinds of rituals with themes revolving around cattle, protecting the herds, controlling them (they can literally stampede you in the face)

>>43494047I think it's a better idea to keep it on inviteYou should probably make backup saves too, just in case
>>43490672Hey I recognize this style! You're that guy who draws endtown fan art on /co/ aren't you?
>>43493762Ya I just finished reading through that section. I can definitely get behind the idea of lycanthropy being a curse but instead of being the hunter they are now the hunted. The irony is great. At the same time though I'd really like to see some art of an armored lycanthrop. My idea was to have the curse be similar to the undead oath. Once someone pledges themselves to a lord they are bestowed the gift. Although I suppose that would bring up the question of why are there humans working for the Vampires. Maybe it could be a redemption thing. Or, working off the established idea, it could be that some of the lycanthrops who have escaped the humans/elves have pledged themselves to the Vampires in order to save their brethren and to fight a common foe.Either way both ideas seem good to me. Can't wait to see how this thread turns out.
>>43493654Well Nagash is the one who made up/popularized the practice of undeath and necromancy in original warhammer, especially with whole "turned his entire home country inro undead" thing, so I feel like it should be related somehow.Or maybe not? Maybe having him still be undead isn't "bizarro" enough?
>>43494090So far, the thread's working wonders! I'm really impressed. I might use these ideas for a nonwarhammer campaign! This would work amazingly in D&D too! When I found this, the idea was great, then Abbot came along and delivered some glory, so we're just exploring right now.I think that Lycanthropes becoming knights for undead would make a lot of sense, actually, but for an entirely voluntary reason. They fight in order to be able to protect themselves, and do harm to a society that would hunt them for something that they themselves inflicted. I looove it.>>43494068I think so too, to be perfectly honest with you!>>43494118Hmmm. If that's what Nagash did...Why don't we make that what Vampirism is? Well, lemme explain a little bit, 'cuz to me, Vampires in this Bizarro-world are basically Paladins. So, they invoke magic through the power of an oath, so what if the Dark/Traitor Elves taught Nagash a method to transcend death and become a sentinel of order. Something that is chaos' natural enemy, and, being a priest, he gathered a small army of people who disagreed with the practices that were being performed by the noble houses, and he transformed them, along with himself, into the Undead Sentinels of Order. In doing so, he creates Necromancy and the Undead, and depending on the strength of the Oath sworn by the particular Undead, it instills different rankings of Order into the being. Total Order prevents any decay, while Partial Order causes them to become Zombies, instead of straight-up vampires. So he created an army to face down the Devils of the human Imperium, and in doing so, started a practice that led to the archenemies of the human imperium, the Sentinels of Order(The Undead).
>>43494118>>43493713Eh it can still work. Tomb Kings were basically. >Fuck everyone, get offa my property! And magic does tend to stay in an area, affecting the land around it. Powerful magic even moreso. It could be that Nagash introduces his new form of magic to negate the need for killing off so many potent magic users, but by the time he does, the Nehekaran population is decimated by a great influx of Chaos Warriors. To combat them properly, the last living of Nehekara(nobles, kings, priesthood, etc) make the sacrifice to become Vampires to better fight Chaos for much longer than a human naturally couldThat original out however used a lot of magic, that was left behind in the abandoned Nehekaran desert. The millions of dead rose up, with the legions of executed Priests becoming the new leaders of a faction that just doesn't want to participate in the war, and rather stew in the miserable fact they have to be alive again. Basically instead of Tomb Kings, it is now the Tomb Priests. They are still>Get offa mah property!but less poncy and more just pissed at everything.
>>43492405That was a rather entertaining and light hearted tail with an undercurrent of the darkness inherent in the setting....I liked it.
Well since Northern Humans(and dwarfs) have taken the Mongolian aspect, that leaves the question what to do with the Ogres? Can't make them too Asian as that would take them too far from the Old World. So how about instead they are like the Greek City States? Numerous small states that quarrel and debate with each other, but when threatened can levy citizen soldiers to repel invaders?
Also regarding MAGIC! and the spell lists( http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Magic#The_lores_of_magic )- Skaven Sun Magic : probably a mix of Light, Life and Fire schools- Human Marauders Magic : mix of Ice, Shadow, Beast and Heavens (for meteorological effects), as well as throat singing rituals focusing the powers above- Vampire Magic : Death, Shadow, maybe Heavens- Tomb Kings : Death, Light, Metal (maybe Heavens for divination)- Ogre magic : technically can access all paths of Magic, but tend to go towards Life, Metal and Shadow- Dwarf Magic : Metal, Fire, Chaos tainted and based on runes- Humans : Any, but chaos tainted, or directly magic from the Dark Gods>>43494206Liking the stuff about lycnathrops, it seems logical, but I think they need to be quite few. They have to be a minority, not a faction of their own, otherwise it starts putting too many important players at the same time>>43494387>that leaves the question what to do with the OgresGypsies ! Let's have ogres playing the violin around campfires !
>>43494387That sounds like a good idea, Abbot.NOTICE TO THE GENERAL THREAD:Compiler's going to be leaving to drive home. Should be home in a half-hour, but no promises. >>43494414Yeah. They're definitely not strong enough to be a faction themselves, esp. sine they're mostly hunted, and those who escape, if they turn back while trying to raise an army, they usually get hunted down terribly. Which is why I was thinking that they could work WITH Undead Sentinels in order balance them out and give them a home where they cannot turn things into other Lycanthropes. Plz. VAMPIRE WEREWOLVES? >>43494450>>43494481Definitely keep them small. Like what compiler was saying, They would probably be the equivalent of an elite slot from old fantasy. Very few in number but quite powerful (I'm assuming that was the point of elites. I never actually played old warhamer). Something like knights as opposed to regular foot soldiers.
Well until we get some other folks in to write up the other races, I'll stick to lore tidbits to flesh out the existing ones. My brain not work good anymore.
>>43494707What races do we have left to flesh out?
>>43494720All of them. As much as we have, there is still a lot to put in.Orcish Orders, Skaven clans, Empire Territories, Dwarf society, Elvish society, Vampire society and subfactions, the list goes on.
>>43494720Not races, but Nagash's role in things seems to be contested.I had some thoughts but phone posting makes essays hard
>>43489700The tomb kings have always been a benevolent race. They only fight to regain their lands, nothing more. They've even allied with order races before.
So, if we can keep the Hobbits good, I dont see any reason to not make the Lizardmen still good, albeit with some twists. I imagine the Lizardmen would be more themed after the Aztecs and Incas rather than the Mayans, and with a focus on War and Sacrifice. From a cultural stand point, they are more outgoing and aggresive as a nation, even going as far as to sail to the old world to fight. However, they distrust Undead just as much as Chaos, and ultimately fight them as well. They are always on the attack, and rarely is there ever a battle in Lustria itself. Most of the Slann are dead, however, and require the still beating of the living to reactivate their immense powers, whose strengths are pulled from ancient unknowing gods only mentioned in the Lizardmens eldest plates. Thus, they have declared war upon most of the world, the massive and intelligent Saurs leading the masses of scaley underlings. However, the Lizardmen are not alone in their Crusade: The Skaven have become increasingly close allies, as they have allowed many of their kind into the sanctuary of Lustria. In return, the Ancient tunnels that lead to the Old World from Lustria have been opened and navigated for Lizardmen use. Further more, the Ogres and Orks, both see the lesser evolved Lizardmen as distant brothers, even if the Lizardmen are more savage than they would like. Sorta the same thing but instead of Isolationist defenders, they are Out going, brutal and Saurian led expansionists, wishing to conquer the world and bring about a dark and bloody, yet peaceful time under their rule.
>>43494879I am copying this into the docGreat work !
>>43484483Some Orcs are known to talk in a near-incomprehensible dialect (an exaggerated Canadian). >>43484807The Norse tribe of Nomads is well-known for producing fine traders and warriors in equal measure, their longships either feared or eagerly anticipated in settlements along the coasts and rivers of the world- but never ignored. Recently the target of extermination campaigns by the Empire and Brettonians, they have begun to associate more closely with the Skaven and Orcs to ensure their safety.Think of them as embodying the "trading and exploring" aspect of the Vikings as opposed to the "rape and pillage" attitudes of the Norse in WFB canon.

Should Brettonians be Chaotically-Aligned, or still retain a semblance of being against Chaos?A general question from someone who has never played Warhammer.
>>43495392Since everything is getting flipped, Chaos aligned. But like in the previous game, they can come to blows with the Empire over religious differences, or territorial disputes.
>>43495450Anyway, the Skaven in Bizarro-Warhammer are run by the Council of Seven, rather than Thirteen. Each one reserved for the most influential Skaven Clans, and one seat for the Matriarch(never actually present so her vote is more or less a coin toss).>Skaven Clans>Clan Skryre: Engineers and technological savants. Skaven of Skryre scoff at magic and instead focus on the power of the natural world. Creating technological marvels such as the Jezzail Matchlock, Rotator Cannon, and the experimental Rat-o-copter, Skryre is always pushing the boundaries of engineering.>Clan Eshin: More of an order than a clan, these Skaven are masters of subterfuge. The blade in the dark, the poisoned dart, the bolt from a mile away, the Eshin focus on assasinating their enemies before the enemy even know they are there.>Clan Moulder: Moulder Skaven are more in tune with nature than other Skaven. Where other Skaven see wild animals to be hunted/avoided, Moulder sees traveling companions. Moulder Skaven are renowned for taming, and domesticating hunting bears. Such hulking beasts are stronger than their wild cousins, and far more docile towards Skaven thanks to generations of selective breeding and training. You can buy loyalty from mercenaries, but the loyalty of a Moulder Bear is absolute.
>>43495450What do you think about corrupted ladies of the Lake and the knights doing fucked up quests ?Mostly waging war against the neighbors because they're trying to get to unrealistic objectives given to them by demons
>>43495450>Clan Mors: Mors has prided itself in being a clan of exceptional fighters. They train the best, and expect the best. As a result, they produce the best. Few Skaven clans can boast having warriors that can match even an ‘average’ Mors soldier. Iron discipline, master crafted wargear, the Mors Skaven is a model soldier for all of Skaven society. The Sun Seers: Not actually a clan but a collection of magic users among Skaven. Noted for their albino white fur, and orange eyes, the Sun Seers are Skaven blessed by the Matriarch herself to have the magic of the Sun at their disposal. Many Skaven look to these Seers for guidance, and leadership, a burden the Sun Seers bear with grace. >Clan Panaceor: A clan devoted to the healing arts. Working closely with the Sun Seers, the Panaceor clan explores all the different means of healing the sick and the wounded. The Monks of Panaeor welcome all those afflicted into their domain, working tirelessly to mend their patients, its priests devote themselves to a never ending quest to find the right blend of plants, the right alchemy to create the cure-all for any and all diseases. For every concoction that does succeed in healing or alieving the afflicted, it is recorded into the Book of Healing, a copy of which is carried by every Priest in Panaceor. Of all the Clans, Panaceor is perhaps considered to be closest to the Matriarch, as many Sun Seers tend to be born from this clan.
>>43495485Sounds good, but it could use a little more than that. What you have now could work for the knights. Just needs something involving the pilgrims.
>>43495229If we want them to go really bizzaro we can make them hate horses
>>43495536Or rather than ride horses, ride demonic steeds that feed on horses.
>>43495532We could have the pilgrims doing generally corrupt and evil stuff, or reporting to the knights in the nearby area in order to spread their corruption. Stuff like that. Like a Nazi selling out a Jewish companion.>>43495547Also, I had that kind of idea, except they rode horse demons that ate living flesh... maybe from real horses
>>43495581>>43495547>horse demonsThis is Chaos, why go with something so tame when you can go really bizarre?>tfw a roving band of Brettonian Knights swoop down from the sky surfing on Discs of Tzeentch.
Wait waitSo Brettonians are pretty much corrupt assholes fighting for the "right" side in original warhammer, right? So why not make them good guys fighting for the wrong side?A faction that's basically a tragic villain is what I'm suggesting.
>>43495536If we REALLY want them to go Bizarro, they're outlaw communists ...
>>43495639If we're going bizzare...I HAVE AN IDEA.Have them ride tentacle-faced komodo dragons with wings.>>43495654I have no idea what a Brettonian is, but if we want to do that... Maybe have them giving into chaos in order to fight against chaos. Like, using the magic that the Hordes use, without control over their powers like the Hordes have. Something like that?
>>43495677No, the point being that every Chaos God has their own mount for their cavalry. Tzeentch has Discs, Khorne has the Blood Crusher, Slannesh has...this.
>>43495677So the Empire is basically a mix between Germany and the Holy Roman Empire with steampunk technology. Brettonia is more a mix of Dark Ages England and France, with questing knights, oppressing the peasantry, and raging honor-boners.A corruption of this could be...whatever my brain is slowing down as it gets closer to bed time.
>>43495727Oh dear fucking lord. Sorry, mate. But... Slaneesh... What... The hell... Is he riding?
Let me take a jab at thisBrettonia is even more divided. The King died, at some point, a long time ago, no one remembers really why or how.The point is, there is no King, and everyone wants it.For as long as a few generations can remember, the local lords have been at war with each other over the throne. The rare times it has been taken, it wasn't for more than a fortnight. The war kept on, and the Knights neglected the Quest of the Grail and the Ladies of the Lake. The Ladies' power waned, and they were easy to take over for the Gods of Chaos. They started appearing to the noblemen, disguised as their Ladies, urging them to rekindle the flame of their faith. They were sent on quests and granted boons by the Ladies, and soon, they had all fallen to Chaos. Their existence is now driven by insane quests given by the Dark Ladies and an unceasing fight for the throne. The Dark Ladies use the quests to hinder the lords and maintain a constant war.The Knights themselves have become Chaos knights, mutated and all. Some accept it and rejoice, others are in denial, there are inbred nobles families corrupted by Chaos all over the place. They are mostly entrenched in their castles, and the country is going to shit because they don't take care of it anymore (for 150+ years)Continuing next with the common folk
>>43495748Got it. Make 'em kniving bastards who focus on political intrigue amongst themselves and other nations. A nation of powerful manipulators, betrayers, etc...And to top it all off, make them do it for the sake of helping the peasantry. Somehow. And I know that feel. My brain is also rotting.
>>43495758Steed of Slaanesh, just your run of the mill daemonic Cavalry from the Chaos God of Excess and Hedonism.
>>43495758An animal made for fucking.
>>43495779>>43495794BUT HOW DO YOU FUCK IT?
>>43495805Slannesh wouldn't give you one if you didn't know how.
>>43495805Right in its face, clearly.
>>43495774Since they don't take care of the peasants anymore, the common folk refuses to pay the taxes and the nobles resort to pillage for their suppliesAs a result, most of the common folk have gone "outlaw", although it is difficult to say if there is still a Law in BrettoniaThe outlaws use guerilla warfare and are mostly territorial, while the nobles are more of a giant rush of "fuck you shit up" crushing what stands in its way
>>43495748Maybe base it on the republics of England and France?A socially repressive puritan-esque republican dictatorship with mass executions of anyone thought to be working against them?
>>43495838We really don't have that many mass executionsOtherwise that sounds like a great idea to me
>>43495871Heading to bed, guys! I'll check up on the document again when I wake up!!
Was trying to work on expanding the oath of the undead. I was thinking of adding something about how it's not simply the transformation that robs you of your humanity but also time eroding away at you. Those have been fighting for countless centuries have become harden shells of themselves. Cold, distant, almost entirely void of emotion. Not because of a direct effect of the oath, but from the loss of what they held dear and the realization of the task before them. Losing their friends and loved ones not to chaos, but to old age has impaired their ability to feel. While the constant fighting has jaded them.Would write more but I need to sleep.
>>43495832Hm, so the guerilla peasantry would be a neutral party, correct?Since they go against the chaos-loving noblemen, but I doubt they'd ally themselves with the forces of order as well.
>>43495986adding this>>43496226yeah that's it, they're neutral, but ultimately the reason the country doesn't get steamrolled by the Empire
>>43496219>spess mehreensMeanwhile, in an alternate universe, Games Foundry releases its companion product to Warhammer Adventure, Age of Chaos. It is largely regarded as the savior of the Fantasy product line, introducing simplified but still coherent skirmish rules and new units that are compatible with either ruleset, along with an alternate timeline that runs parallel to the original canon. They infamously decided to cut prices on all Age of Chaos figures for the week after release, resulting in mass shortages of the models. Amiibo-esque scalping was prevalent for the next year, resulting in a massive online backlash.

Ok, a few more ideas:Vampires have undead servants called Ghouls. Contrary to Warhammer ghouls, they are not cannibals, ut are created by vampire by drinking a human dry. Vampires don't like to do this, but they resort to it when it's the last choice to protect people from the taint of Chaos. Ghouls, of course, cannot reproduce, which makes natality problematic, as more and more of the humans under the Vampires' rule are turned.Recent ghouls look like very well preserved corpses, but they decay slowly. Year after year, the ghoul looks more and more like a mummified corpse, or in the worst cases, can even become a sentient, moving skeleton containing withered organs.Ork monks cultivate Squigs and all kind of mushrooms in their monasteries. It's one of their primary means of sustenance and they also grow special squigs in Zen Gardens, using Feng Shui to shape the beast according to their needs. this results in a very wide variety of specialized squigs such ass flying messengers, farm squigs, squeeds (squig steeds)
>>43496599>Reminder that there is a universe where everything is right in the world and all tg-related games are absolutely fantasticNo, there's not.I checked.
>>43495758A daemonic hippocampus
>>43491020Protesting against the outright corruption of his people, Malekith the Phoenix-Prince fled the country with a relatively small following, finally settling on the other side of the world, in the pleasant and temperate land of Naggaroth (meaning the Land of Chill in Elven, but misleadingly named to discourage any attackers).Burned nearly beyond recognition by the dark magics of his mother attempting to prevent his defection, he spends most of his time in a coffin-like life support device, unable to interact with the world at large and in constant, tremendous pain. However, he is still able to communicate with his subjects, though his physical injuries made it impossible to govern effectively on his own.As a result, the country is maintained by a republican council, supplemented with a direct-democracy substructure. This is, in part, also because the "exiles" believe that they are still part of Ulthuan, and to grant nobility titles and royalty titles would be pretentious and illegal. They are merely an interim government-in-exile. However, those born after the split see themselves more as Bright Elves, not Elves, and question the wisdom of this idealism, and abhor the Melnibonian tastes of their Chaos counterparts.Though elitist by definition, seeking to spread their "pure" Elven culture across the globe, the Bright Elves are well-meaning and benevolent. But well-meaning and benevolent doesn't necessarily mean successful and beneficial, and has resulted in major social upheavals in colonized countries. However, their efforts have led to a rapid modernization boom in the northern lands, benefiting the Northmen and supporting their noble, but flawed worldview. So yeah, they're fantasy Icelanders/British colonists/Americans/Taiwanese.
NEW ERA'S DAWN: ELVENTIDEFocusing on the horrors of war and the loyalty of the soldiers who die by each other, ELVENTIDE is a tale of sorrow, intrigue, and adventure. The playable adventurers are a spade-swinging Orc whose slow and deliberate strikes require deliberation and skill, a Mors Sun Seer whose magics devastate the battlefield, a Northman bodyguard and medic whose shield protects allies and bashes foes, a Bright Elf assassin whose deadly arrows make short work of the opposition, a berserker halfling whose devastating charges send his enemies flying, and a vampire knight, who grows stronger with everything he kills.
>>43478161So what you're saying that there is a Skaven paladin who uses a Holy JusticeWheel to destroy evil?
What about Cathay? They are mostly kept to themselves in the original WHFB, and didn't have much in terms of lore or army, but they did say that their emperor was rumored to have dragonblood. Then we have the Chaos Dwarfs, whom will be interesting in this new World.and what about Trolls? Are they perhaps like the ents, and are Guardians of the rivers, the rocks and nature in general?
>>43497662I already added my take on the "Chaos Dwarves" here >>43493880 >>43494003
>>43497662Also I'm digging the idea of Trolls as nature protectors, they would clash often with the depraved Forest ElvesCare to write a bit about them ?We're gonna need a new thread soon, does anyone know how to archive the thread ?
>>43497740Go sup/tg/ if you want to archive itI dunno if it's worth it yet, but eh, who cares, quests have bloated it enough already
>>43497740As there are many different types of trolls - Stone trolls, River trolls, plain regular ones and chaos trolls - they all have different "purposes" as such.Stone trolls guard the Mountains from the Dwarves, and due to their hardy nature and innate knowledge of stone and metalwork, perhaps a few Orks and Goblins seek them out for their sage advice?River trolls are, you guessed it, Guardians and protectors of the Waters. They hold great anger against those that pollute their Waters and sail on the seas with reckless abandon. Maybe they see themselves in a similar fashion to the Cyclops of Greek myth? (as the sons of a water god)Regular trolls guard Forests, hills and natural formations. Perhaps they've lived in the Woods and such for so long that they have moss growing on them? And lastly, the Chaos trolls. Since this is a sort of "opposite" World, I imagine them as creatures that are very wise and ancient, even older than other trolls. They see themselves as Guardians of Balance and order, and only truly go to war when the forces of darkness grow far too powerful. They are harder to find than the rest and I imagine them having Beautiful Crystals and the like on their skin, as if it was growing from them. These are just suggestions, feel free to add/ignore/change as you see fit.

Orcs are long-lived, not just because of their resilient physiology, but because of their excellent medical practices. They are clean (they sterilize their surgical instruments, wash their hands, and use clean wrappings for wounds) and know much about the physiology of many different species, such as human, Skaven, and elf, gained via dissection and medical study. The Orcs are also known for the much-hated Squig brain transplant. Generally performed on mortally wounded young Orcs, it involves his brain being removed and placed into a Squig. The resulting beast retains Orcish intelligence and undergoes a massive growth spurt, becoming a massive creature that can either be used as beast of burden or war animal. Naturally, this is rare and only done in the most desperate of circumstances.Beastmen are actually a throwback of the human species to the experiments of the Old Ones. One of their first created races were the Beastmen- but they were quickly discovered to be extremely vulnerable to Chaos. But because the general template seemed sound, if flawed, they used the Beastmen as a basis for the human design. This solved much of the Chaos corruption problems, but not all of them. As a result, if conceived under Warp-influenced circumstances, a human has a small but significant chance of being born a Beastman. In the Empire they are commonly used as elite troops and frequently rise to high ranks within the military, where they frequently become corrupted by Chaos and undergo severe mutation. Those born in other lands are often persecuted and restricted to menial labor, their horns and hooves betraying them.
>>43504332Wait wouldn't the beastmen be about order, since in the orignal they're children of chaos?
>>43506385The problem is, you can't reverse the alignments of the factions completely without going against common sense or logic, such as the Halflings.
>>43497662Cathay is currently in a six-way civil war between four factions representing the Chaos Gods and two secular groups, one representing the vestiges of the previous imperial government and the other a rebellion against both established traditions and the Chaos-based regimes. But to those caught in the middle, the secular regimes at times don't seem any better than the Chaos-inspired ones.Nippon, though it just as recently as twenty years ago was trading with the Skaven (who they call Nezumi, incidentally) is undergoing major social upheaval. The Emperor of Nippon has been corrupted by Chaos and is encouraging Korperk worship, allying with the Empire and gaining dominance over the seas of the East.Meanwhile, Tilea and many other minor countries have been swallowed up by the Empire in its conquests, the rest have allied with the Bright Elves, desperate for military protection. It is only a matter of time before the continent is embroiled in a long and painful civil war...

Just found this, hoping to contributeOrcs are so few and long lived because they grow like trees. It takes them centuries to reach their prime and they never truly stop growing, but always at a slow and steady pace. Start out like bonsai.Lizardmen were the old ones' guardians and protectors, but when they died and left the slaan they started getting worried. They turned against the slann and mistrust magic now, killed (almost) all the slann and use their bodies as terrible was shrines/engines of power. Very technologically advanced and resistant to chaos, but still horribly violent and believe they need to redeem themselves by killing everything chaos has touched (i.e. everything that isnt a lizardman). To build on sun worshiping skaven, maybe they live above ground, forced out of their caves by the dwarfs and have to wander the plains, the sun is their only comfort. For Nagash, keep the story the same, brother is king, captured "bright" elves and keeps them prisoner, nagash is a priest, finds them and learns from them. they teach him about how chaos only corrupts the living and ask him to kill them so his brother can't corrupt them. He does, learns death magic and kills his brother to bring him back as a good-aligned undead. Turns out once chaos takes hold, not even death can remove it. Chaos Khemri civil war against good undead ancestors nagash raises to liberate the people. Long story short, he frees Khemri, but has to kill everyone to do so. Now it is a monument to his Pyrrhic victory and he is determined to come up with a better way (vampires).

>>43504332Ugitch opened his eyes, a red-hot pain shooting through his eyes and around his head as the lights in the room beat down on him. He turned his head to get a closer look at his surroundings, noticing a table upon which was perched a tray of bloody surgical implements. His head started to swim as a voice cried out. “Um… Da process was ekperimental, but’z da git’s alright?” At this, Ugitch tried to sit up- but to his dismay, he realized that he was tied down and couldn’t move. He cried out in confusion, but only growls and squeaks came out.His eyes darted around the room, noting every possible detail. The walls were brick, like that of the Orcish monastery in which he had spent the night about a week ago. He could see stars shining out of a suspiciously unbarred window. But most unsettlingly, he saw two other people in the room with him- a suspicious-looking Skaven, coat stained with fresh blood, and a Goblin wiping himself off with a damp towel. The Goblin noticed Ugitch was awake, nudging the Skaven. “Oi! Riski! Da’ pashunt’s kicking!” He moved a candle in front of Ugitch’s face, grinning as his pupils dilated and he recoiled from the light. The Skaven scowled, turning to the goblin. “My name-name is Risikik, and I am tired of repeating myself, Marg!” But quickly forgetting the perceived slight upon observing his patient, his ratty face opened up into a smile. “Good-good!” he squeaked, his rubbery tail whipping about with pleasure. “I was beginning to think-think that the transplant wouldn’t take.”Marg seemed to notice Ugitch’s confusion, and held up a mirror. “Uh… dere’s somefink ya might wanna see,” he stammered out, moving closer.Ugitch recoiled in horror, for staring back at him was the face of a Squig. (continued next post)
>>43516174Risikik pushed the goblin out of the way, grinning at Ugitch. Avoiding a well-timed chomp aimed at his nose, the Skaven started to explain. “Your comrades brought back-back your body after you fought the man-thing raiders. It was in bad-bad shape! Lost too much blood-blood, missing arm-arms, open belly, you would have died! And now you’re in a new body, and you’ve helped-helped advance our sciences besides!” Seeing Ugitch continuing to struggle and growl, he wisely moved away, letting Marg speak. “Lissen, yung’un,” the goblin lectured, lowering his voice. “Dis here surjikal procejur wazn’t my idea. We sometimes do dis to da yunger Orcs wen they get hurt reel bad, lets ‘em help us still and saves dere lives.” He sighed, wiping his face. “I’z sorry for da inkonvenience. But it wuz all Riski’s idea,” he groaned, pointing to the humbled Skaven. “Sumfink about “advansin syenz” and “cuz no grot’s tried a Squig brain tranzplant on a rat before.”“Besides,” the Skaven stammered out after an awkward lull, “we can always put you back-back.” He gestured to a bowl on the table, in which the still-steaming brain of the Squig laid.Sweat appeared on his brow. “And this means that you can still help-help your squad out! But… in a different role-role.”Marg stroked Ugitch’s back, his voice taking on a calm tone. “Yeh, bein’ a Squig’s a pretty tuff ting ta get used ta. Ya can’t do da tings ya used ta, and it gets ded annoying when sumwun tries ta have ya for dinner. But my pashunts always get better, get bigger, and get use ta it. Dere ded killy, ded strong and ded fast, and sum even go inta battle again. It ain’t da end of da wurld.”Marg smiled as Ugitch’s new Squig face took on a calmer appearance. “Well,” he thought glumly, “at least I’m not dead.”(needs more-more editing)
