Welcome one, and I welcome you all to the tale of a world called Thespia. Here is the odyssey of one that clings to this world with no face of their own! In a place where magic is fundamental to all of creation, all who live wear their lives upon their face, where a fire might wish to be the cooking fire of an inn!Previously the Faceless sat by a fire for a respite with his newfound friends as both their savior and hero, The Reaper. The night was quiet with talk between old folks, and kids trying to rouse ghosts. The faceless took the young Mira with him to scavenge loot from the recent slaughter. and found a man that had been dying instead of dead. Ignoring the man's wish to give last words to his sister, the Faceless let spite be unleashed and shattered those dying words with impunity. The spoils were scraps and tatters, but the material was good. Returning, The Faceless spoke to Mira about her silence, gleaning insight to the change that she'd been going through. The Young Guisi was adverse to her shadow self, the taste of blood, the pleasure in hurting enemies. To accept both sides, is what the Faceless said should be done. Now it rests upon her to work through her feelings.Returning to the campfire a voice beseeched an audience with the faceless. Answering the call, the Faceless met Avar, a Dramani with many answers to several questions.Avar spoke of the world of Thespia as cursed, and claimed the Faceless as the only one to break the mad spell that forces the fate of all into a perpetual cycle.Turning in for slumber, The Faceless's mind towards to his own and his face's thoughts. For the future, for his identity, and for this world. All of this is cast upon his shoulders. What trials shall we overcome? We shall see.The Twitter!> https://twitter.com/Faceless_QuestIf you have questions...>http://ask.fm/DranzyAnd a log of the quest!>http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Quest%20Of%20The%20Faceless

>>43415374You enter through the shadow of the Owl, immersing yourself in the experiences of the Reaper's life.>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhkENWXBoJQThe Owl:Sol is high and hot in the sky, beating down upon fields of flowing golden wheat. The wind whistles along the land with a lazy tune, letting the air stifle and swelter, giving creatures the excuse to find shelter. You watch the back of a man, your father, as he hums to the sound of the wind, the family's scythe in his hands. There's a sharp sound as the scythe commands the wind, extending the reach of its blade some feet. You kneel down and start gathering up the next bundles, stringing twine around as much wheat as you possibly can to take it to town. You feel the sweat dripping down your brow, and the glistening sheen of it over your father's back. He's a strong man, but you're overheated and tired with blisters on your hands. As your father loses himself in his scything, you set up the next bundle of wheat and sneak away from the fields, finding comfort in the shade of the mountain's trees. Laying in the cool shade, shielded from Sol's harsh eye. You drift into a dozing sleep, losing track of time.A shrill cry awakens you with a startle. A noise of pain that brings you up to your feet, alert and aware. You hear a small voice crying, "Oh no... No, no, no... Why...?"It's a strange sound, unlike any you've ever heard before. The voice seems to bypass your ears, and heard only by your heart.Shifting closer, you hear the voice grow louder in its grief. pushing aside the branch of a bush you see an owl chick that's fallen, its neck impaled by an especially vicious thorn. It flutters, and its pained eyes look to you as it begins to realize that the pain won't stop. You start to reach out for the poor thing when that very same voice cries, "No, please stop!"
>>43416091Freezing in your tracks, you look around, seeking the source, when you see a pair of eyes twinkling through the bottom of the bush, the splotched shadow of the owl chick staring back at you."Its... You're... Hurt." You say with a hard swallow. The chick starts to wince its eyes closed, fluttering again, its body changing shape and form before snapping back from the pain of its wound. It changes color, and its feathers even shimmer between the textures of fur and scales..."I... I know." The shadow stutters. You can hear it trying to hold back tears. "I won't live to see another day. My papa won't be proud of me when I grow up. I'll never have a lady, and I'll never smell another flower... I... I don't want to die. Yet here I am. I just wanted to fly. I just wanted to show them that I could." The shadow breaks out into tears, the sound of its sorrows drifting into your being. You feel the wheels in your mind turning. Sorrow is so bitter, so foul. Why would this lazy wind have pushed this chicklet into its own death? With a deep breath, you ask, "Can I help? You're suffering...""If it's pulled out, I'll die right then. The end of my light... It's so near...""Is there anything else?"There's a dreadful silence for a moment between the two of you, the owl chick's labored breathing slowly taking a turn for the worse as its chest wobbles."You... You can hear me?" The shadow asks hopefully."Of course I can." You say in response, unaware of how unusual these circumstances are."I've heard... If a thespian can hear a voice... They can tie fate... What's your name?""I'm-"The memory slowly burns into white as you understand what transpired. The Reaper inherited the shadow of an owl chick when he was a boy. Through him the shadow lived vicariously and allowed it to see another solrise...
>>43416116So is that what gave us nightvision?
>>43416177>>43416160I'll actually elaborate here and clear things up:When Guisi perform shadow pacts they inherit the abilities and traits of the shadow they pacted with. This is most often seen with the shadows of animals as the shadows of tools are not as keen to the idea. The Reaper's shadow pact grants him all the same abilities as the species of owl he pacted with when he was a boy.Just the same, Mira pacted with the shadow of a blood viper, a snake with an extremely strong sense of smell and heat detection. It's why the two of them can actually see at night.Their respective "Shadow forms" enhance these attributes and make them all the more apparent.
>>43414947Do you have the link to the pastebin?
>>43416316Thanks for the clarificationWasn't it that you can only have 1 shadowpact or something like that?
>>43416336I'm doing some work on the pastes to include a link from the main bio to each face's thing. I realized that with what I have planned(in terms of the number of faces) one pastebin would get overcrowded with data.http://pastebin.com/dDstf0SNI'll update The Reaper's page in a bit. I'd like to point out that the pacted owl was not garden variety. You're in Thespia now, nothing is purely ordinary.>>43416352Guisi are the thespians that can acquire a shadow pact. They can acquire 1 shadow and 1 nonshadow. Each thespian has a unique affinity or attribute to the types of Pacts they can make.
>>43416116 You awaken slowly, stretching out your aged body and dreaming idly of the times when you were younger, spry. Sure, you're capable of so much now, but the boy that you were didn't have to worry about waking up sore and tired. You rub away the sands from your eyes and rise from your still slumbering company. It may have been past midnight that you finally settled to sleep, yet you've woken up just as Sol's rising. No time to just sleep the day away, eh?Mira's nuzzled up among some of the other Guisi. The older folks, Cornel, Gaffer, and Valce are sitting up against a tree, dozing away. Now and then Gaffer gives a bit of a snort from that heatshaped nose of his.The partially mutilated carcass of the Ursarinn still lies near. The fury in its blood keeping its hide from rotting. Not even the bugs will touch its simmering hide.A brand new day without enemies... Avar said that you should play out your role as the Reaper. You saved these people, and you gave them a goal. To slink away now wouldn't quite be in character now, would it?>[Set up training for the Guisi. >>43416538 For all that you can do yourself, you're wise enough to understand that you can't do it all alone. If anything's going to change for these people, they need skills. They have the skills for survival, they know how to live off the land... Any Guisi raised among the communities should know at least that much. However, it takes more than that if they're going to fight back.Tactics, skill, courage, and subtlety. These are the makings of one that can harass a troop of soldiers and bring them to their knees if learned well enough.Your day begins by examining the make of the bows you recovered from the scouts. They're rather long, with noticeable curves, Recurve bows. They have a fine power, however these will require great strength to draw and hold aim let alone hit anything.Setting the bows aside, you ascend to the trees and hunt out branches that'd be useful for making greenwood bows. They'll be rough, a far cry from a properly crafted bow however they'll work well enough for practice. Your search for a string leads you to the tough fibers of the Ursarinn's tendons. They require the use of your scythe to shear them off. The work is bloody, but the tendons are strong. You hear their voices whisper lazily as they slowly begin to understand their new purpose. Laying the fibers out to dry, you get to work with one of the scout's knives to peel back the bark of the sticks and expose the wood underneath to air.As you work, the blisters on your hands start to almost feel good as much as they hurt. It's something productive, something meaningful. As the other Guisi rouse, you put them to work, gently and kindly guiding them through the process and answering any questions that they might have. By noon, the bows are set aside to dry and everyone's eating lunch, more of the furious Ursarinn meat. You let gaffer at the hunting knife so that he can cut off the Ursarinn's hide. He reasons that there's enough furs to cover the shoulders of all the ex-slaves.
>>43417382The next day, you teach them how to make simple arrows with sharp stones, metal shrapnel, and whatever else is available. By the third day, most of the Ursarinn's meat is well cured and suited to travel. The hides are bundles up and still too spiteful to let rot claim even their scent. The lingering mad musk of the bear ever present on the furs. They let the party keep warm through the night without need of fire. It was on this day that you'd had everyone begin shooting... You feel an itch...>[Favor the women to the bow.] The Reaper would rather keep them from harm's way.>[Favor the men to the bow.] Just to be contrary.>[Make no distinction.] You feel that this is the right thing to do.>[Write in.]

Was just looking back and realized that I made an error referring to Valce and Gaffer. Valce was to be the one with a pig-nose. Gaffer's the leatherworker. Valce has the pig-nose of a Gipporo.
>>43417403 With no distinctions made between gender, you resolve that those that enjoy the bow should be the ones to practice more. Among them, an older woman by the name of Oddette is particularly skillful. On the first day when she awoke to see you making bows, she had been keen on the prospect and the first to offer aid. As it turns out, she'd actually been the daughter of a huntsman. Her father taught her to shoot back then. The skill came back quickly, soon surpassing your own.Among the men, they altogether seemed less keen on the prospect of archery. Yet Valce, had showed some prowess, seeming to enjoy whenever he managed to feather a targets. Though he had no prior skill, Oddette showed him some tricks that you'd not even known. It'll take time before they're all shooting straight, but for now this will be good practice. Once they can feather consistently, they'll have to move to living targets. When the Ursarinn's meat runs out, it'll be necessary anyway. Upon the fourth day, there is nothing left of the Ursarinn but its bones staring listlessly as the ligaments keep the body bound together with unyielding rage. There is talk among the camp of taking the teeth and the claws among other things... You wonder if this is a good idea. You've already had to stop the children from upsetting its spirit once...>[Take everything from the body, it will all be put to use.]>[Bury the bones, they deserve rest.]>[You owe it to the bear, create a pyre for a warrior's sendoff.]

>>43417890 You contemplate over what should be done with the bones for some time. Before finally deciding to bury them. Instead of burying it in the pit that it died in, you have everyone dig a new hole to contain the bones. It takes some time, but after laying then down to rest, you inscribe a fallen tree with its name and title along with a eulogy.“Here lies The Ursarinn, Lord of the West Wilds. May he hibernate within Thespia.”As dirt is piled over top of the bones, the soil smolders and turns black. Likewise, the log darkens into an almost charcoal color with the engraving an ashen white. You read over the Eulogy again...“Here lies The Ursarinn, Lord of the West Wilds. I shall rampage forever in this land.”There's an audible low grumble, and the ground trembles. The distant noises of insects and animals cease for a moment before resuming their concerts.Everyone is unnerved and n less than spooked from the event, ushering a hasty departure after the burial. You feel the Ursarinn's eyes upon you as you leave...A few days pass. Everyone is looking more confident in their practice and you teach the lot of them the basics of how to use a sword. Practice is done with twigs, referring to parts similar upon that of the swords you have on hand from salvage. Long straight blades with an edge on each side.Lessons include parrying, thrusting, and foul play. You never learned the art of swordplay or fencing from a school after all, just picking up tricks here and there to assist with your own way of doing things. What a Danhor would never do is break form. You teach them all formless play that makes use of whatever's around, on hand, and available. Dust in the eyes, a kick thrown into a groin, grasping the hands holding the blade, tripping, and so forth. Hopefully they'll never be in such a situation as this...
>>43418587 In the mountains, you break away for a moment and take some time to yourself to practice your own powers. It's been around a week since you had the memory of the Owl. You've gotten better at entering and dismissing the shadowform that Guisi possess... Yet you can't shake the memory of that bird in the dream. It was... changing. Or at least trying to. >>43418597 You fall forth the Scythe, holding it with both hands by the handles, the length naturally curves down and comes out at an angle for the cutting of wheats and grasses. So far, you've only gotten this far because of its other latent property, your own natural strength, and taking foes by surprise. That changes now.“Well, what are you waiting for?” The Scythe whispers in an almost mocking tone, “Have you finally figured it out yet, imposter?” The blade grins back at you awaiting your next action.“I've experienced the memory of the shadow. You know how the owl transforms, don't you? I can do that too, right?” You ask, yet you get no answer but a spiteful.“I want to see you try.” From the weapon you hold.Breathing deeply, you let your emotions unfold into the other side of the reaper. Your horns lengthen and curl back, running forward below your jaw, your teeth sharpen and body strengthens. Releasing your breath, you feel the dark spreading from your form. On a whim, you let it spread from your hand and through the haft of the scythe. Once it reaches the blade, you can feel the satisfaction brimming from it.“Yes, good. Now's the hard part. You need to change us.”“Us?”“Yes, us. We are both affected by the shadowpact. >>43419219 You picture in your mind a weapon that you must've seen a lot. A halberd, standard issue for marching soldiers. A pike, and an axe all in one.You adjust the Scythe so that it stands up, blade sweeping downward, and slowly allow the wood to lengthen and straighten itself out. Likewise, the metal of the blade slowly moves into form. An axeblade and pike. The process takes time, though you have the impression that you could do this so much faster.“When The Reaper and I fought together, he would never dismiss me the way you do now.”“And how did he manage that?”“A form that is... concealable.”“Describe it to me.”Following the Scythe's instructions, you allow the wood of the scythe to coil around your arm until the metal of the blade rests within a sheath. The glint of its steel blade is visible within the ironwood notch, yet otherwise it's nicely put away.Practicing alone, you gradually increase the speed of the form changes, even incorporating a shortsword form that's brandished from the Gauntlet form at one point and haphazardly creating an axe in another moment.Taking a pause in your experimentation with The Reaper's abilities, you examine the extent that the weapon can change, trying a variety of forms... A shield, a ring-weapon, even bladed boots. You establish two general rules concerning the power that shapeshifts the scythe.>1: The new form cannot have any more mass than the base form. The changes follow conservation of mass. The nature of the material cannot be changed either. >2: The weapon cannot become two separate entities. Creating a pair of gauntlets or boots, they must be linked in some way. The Scythe itself is generally uncomfortable with this.>Learned Weaponshifting.>[Dismiss the scythe.] You don't quite appreciate its attitude.>[Stow away the scythe in gauntlet form.] Might as well make it happy.

You head off alone for a time as the others train at your current encampment, you're taking things so so that they can be in a fighting form when they need to be Valce's arrows are gaining accuracy, Oddette's become more flamboyant with her shots. I took the Ursarinn's eye only because he didn't think that I could.” She smiles at that, her horns lengthening, “I proved him wrong, twice.”As her horns revert, she looks off to the others, “I'm just glad that nobody's died. But that's just because...” She whispers low so that only you can hear, “Imposter or not, you're really strong.”You feel a little twitch of pride within you for that. Though it's not like you wanted to be strong. It's not like the reaper wanted to be strong. He's done these things because he needs to be. “We all do what we must. Same goes for you.”“Thanks... Reaper.” She looks down, grinning a little and walking off. “You're still a pervert.” She mouths soundlessly to you.You really do hope that she forgets about that soon.Taking off the bearskin from your shoulders, you lay it down in a little nest of roots and sleep with your back against the tree. Another rather uneventful day as everyone marches and trains. Soon they;ll free their families and then- Well... What then for you? Will that be it for your time as Dramir?
>>43421002 Will they still even need you? That thought lingers in your mind, and you can't help but feel the first prick of loneliness concerning your identity. This isn't really you. They don't even know you, or what you're doing for them. What you'll be doing after. These are the thoughts that keep you up through the night. You watch Luna slowly rise, as the stars dance in their stellar constellations. As your gaze lingers, you feel like you can almost make out a constellation that looks like you, like a Guisi... Guisar? It seems to smile at you, and Luna bats an eye, “Ah yes little Guisi looking upon a star. That is Guisar that you see from afar.”You stare in sudden disbelief despite everything else, you can hear Luna's voice?>[Answer back...”Write in.”]>[Keep silent.]

>>43421013 “What meaning does that star have to me?” You ask aloud, looking up at Luna...Now, this is strange. You don't quite remember what the story behind her is, though you do know of her as being of importance, a ruler of all things dark, night, wise, beautiful, and... dead. You innately understand her as though remembering the scent of a mother or rather a... grandmother?Luna seems to linger her gaze upon you, her silver eye gleaming with a mysterious beauty. Her words are like an enchantment, her voice a flowing river of beautiful sounds. “Guisar is the star, my daughter Thespia loved for their mystery. Their lies, their deceit, and their ability to change. Once my daughter's first love taught her that all of Guisar's lies were in fact the whole truth, she kissed the star that would give her the children called Guisi.”“Who was your daughter's first love?”“I'm afraid, I'm too embittered to say say that name. Sleep well little Guisi.”“Who?” You try asking again, yet Luna's turned her attentions away from you... The question lingers in your heart... You can feel how important that question is. Who was Thespia's first love? Why does that bother you so much? The concert of crickets through the night ignores the theme of your mood. Suddenly, it takes up a more... alluring tune. They break out the sax, as you slowly relax... And the mist rolls in with a stranger. One that can smell your danger.>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kas6akz1jWU
>>43421425 A silhouette in the mists sways their hips back and forth as they near, the rest of the camp fast asleep, guards oblivious. You begin rising to your feet until you feel a finger upon your lips, the silhouette's appearance quite clearly made out to be the Faeni from before. She looks into your eyes with her own yellow eyes. She smiles and draws in close, putting her arms around you. With a hand, you push her back, uncomfortable with a woman being so forward. The action seems to take her by surprise as her eyes go wide with disbelief. Immediately, you grab one of her hands to twist her arm around and bring her kneeling into the ground. With your scythe at the ready, it forms into a curved blade from your armguard, tracing a line around her throat that only a sliver of Luna's light can pass through. The crickets put away their saxophones.“W-wait a second I didn't- I didn't come here for-”“For what?” You say harshly, clearly not in the mood with your recent onset of worries this night. Clearly, this is the last thing on your mind right now.“For whatever this is? I just wanted to have some fun.” She shifts her shapely hips, wincing as you increase the intensity of the twist you've put her arm into.“Stop that!”“But-”“I said stop.”“Okay.” She succumbs with a whimper. “Can you please let me go?”“That depends.”“On what?” She takes another seductive tone with you.Twisting further, she yelps again, “Okay, I'm done! Ow, you're going to tear my arm out of socket.”“Answer, what did you come here for?”“I smelled someone dangerous. I thought it was nice!”“Did anyone send you?”“Who would send me? I just noticed you peeping on me!”… Well, she's got you there.>[Let her go, tell her to get lost.]>[Ease up on the poor girl. Talk this out.]>[Continue the interrogation like this.]>[Other]

>>43421474>>[Other]Its time for penis-scythe!
>>43421474Easing up, you remove the blade from around her neck and let her go. In a flash, she backs away, hunkered down to near all fours, obviously like an animal. For a moment, you two stare at each other before she straightens her posture, and gingerly rolls her shoulder, groaning about the damage done.“You really know how to turn a girl down, don't you?” Sitting back in your nest of roots, you feel the simmering warmth of the Ursarinn's furs, and feel all the more comfort for it. “Let's just say I'm a bit old for you.” Which is the understatement of the era.“I asked about your kind Faeni, right?”The woman's face contorts into a frustrated scowl, “You thespians always call us that. We know it's meant to sound like “fake” or something... And well, you don't look too old, though I didn't expect you to be such a grump.” Her tail moves up between her legs, and she holds the fur defensively to cover up her modesty.“Well, what are your people's names?”“Well, we'd be thespians if it weren't for you.” She smiles, curling her lips into a smile showing off her fangs, “We call ourselves Proteans.”“Fine, I'll call you that then.”Her smile vanishes, her expression taken aback, “Just like that, you're not going to call me a Faeni?”“Just like that. Yes, I'm trying to sleep.” You close your eyes, hoping she'll just leave. You hear a rustle, and open your eyes to see her sitting before you, her bright eyes locked with yours. “Your silver eyes are pretty.” “Thank you.” You close your eyes again.“Hey,” The Protean speaks like a prodding child, “Wanna touch my tail? It's fluffy. I don't let most Thespians I encounter to touch my tail.” She waves it in front of you. “But you can.”Ignoring her, you quickly fall asleep for the night...>End Scene“Really?” The Protean woman sighs, you're just going to end this part like that?“Now Reeva, you need to calm down. We already said that the scene is over.” Avar whispers back.
>>43422014 “This is stupid! I wanted to do something rated R but numbnuts here totally foxblocked my need for the -“Clock! says that we're out of time Reeva! Come now dear let's go!”“I won't stand for this! I demand more screentime! You're gonna hear from my agent!” A hook comes out, dragging the belligerent fox away.“Aqueas Fini. Good evening folks, we'll see you next time... Oh! And everything after >End Scene is noncanon. Just ignore this little fiasco... eh? By jove do I need a cup of tea. I swear...” Avar's voice grows more distant, “Being without tea is as sad as the trail of...”>That's all folks!
