PREVIOUSLY ON MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Magical+Girl+Liberty> SOME MONTHS EARLIER <The pain in your chest was dulling, thanks to the tender loving care from Sumire, Rana, and Anneliese. It did mean having to spend some time in bed trying to get used to it, along with having Kirby pull together a magical enchantment to further dull the Shard’s effect on your magical psyche. Right now you were in bed, listening to the game over the radio. You couldn’t go to baseball games in person much anymore, but Kirby reassured you that it would be possible soon. Heck, you were up and walking the past few weeks which meant very soon you might be able to go back into active duty again. That would be an incredible boon to your pride, sloth is a sin after all.You got into the habit of writing down the box scores in a notebook. Rana bought it for you last week to help you keep busy while you listened to the game. The hot sun was beading down on you now. It must be summer. You hate summer. The only thing you liked about summer was Sumire going outside more and bothering you less and baseball. As much as you like Sumire, she gets incredibly restless if it looks nice outside and she’s not allowed to go out.A platter of food floated onto your lap as the game continued. Yankees ten, Senators zip. You rubbed your nose out of frustration. Ever since Walter Johnson retired, the Senators just have not been the same. You look over to see your Walter Johnson signed baseball on the nightstand, encased in a glass capsule. A little extreme, but you learned your lesson the hard way after Sumire accidentally sold it to some shady collectors. Probably the first time #5 scolded you for unnecessary roughness. “Hey, Kirby.”Kirby hopped up onto the bed, willing the knife and fork on the plate to cut up the cut of steak. “Afternoon. How are the Senators doing?”[1/2]
>>43106908[2/2]“Behind ten.” You look over at Kirby. “It’s only the 1st inning.”“I see. Are they doing badly?” asks Kirby. You nod, opening your mouth as Kirby plants the food into your mouth. “Very.”“I see. Your loyalty appears not to have paid off,” he says. Fair enough. Sometimes you love a team more than it loves you. You looked down at the food. Cooked steak, some mashed potatoes, some peas, and some slices of apple along with a glass of apple juice. Kirby certainly knew how to cook food that’s for sure. “Perhaps another team or other players may be more deserving of your attention.”“There are, but they’re colored unfortunately,” you say. Kirby nods, understanding. “Are Sumire and Rana coming back soon?”“Should be a few minutes. Lightning said she had a surprise for you.” A surprise? From Sumire? Last time she surprised you, you ended up covered in pies. That’s not something you want to repeat. By the way Kirby is staring at you, he appears to know what it is.> “What is it, Kirby?” Spoil the surprise. You spoil surprises all the time, this is no different.> “Fine. Keep your secrets.” Don’t spoil the surprise. Maybe it’s something genuinely heartfelt and… no, that’s not Sumire. Not at all.> Change the subject> Other

> “Fine. Keep your secrets.” Don’t spoil the surprise. Maybe it’s something genuinely heartfelt and… no, that’s not Sumire. Not at all.“Fine, keep your secrets then, Kirby.” Heartfelt surprises are not part of Sumire’s repertoire. Definitely for Rana, somewhat for Anneliese, but not for Sumire. “By the way, how did you cook this?”“I didn’t,” he says. “I stole it from the place downstairs.” You choke on the steak a little, glaring at him. “That was a joke. Medical sciences report that humor and laughter can induce medicinal qualities through release of certain pheromones within the brains.” A notepad appears next to him a cloud of sparks. “Were you amused, and if you were, please state on a scale of 1-10.”You shake your head. “Zero.”“There is no zero so I will mark it as one.” A pencil appears and marks it down on the notepad.“Kirby, I’m not really the joking type,” you say. “I mean, I like jokes, but uh… certain jokes work better than others. You certainly shouldn’t joke about stealing stuff.”“Ah. I see.” He starts flipping through the notepad. “Let us see. Will you accept jokes about your body image?” You shake your head. Nope. “Will you accept jokes about your height?” Your height’s average, nothing to joke about. “Will you accept jokes about your weight?” Hell. No. “Will you accept-““How about we cut to the chase and not accept jokes that insult me,” you say.“Very well.” He tears a huge chunk of paper out of the notepad, then bites down on them and chews. You roll your eyes. At least he’s trying, God bless his soul.[1/3]
>>43107629[2/4]Suddenly, the door into the bedroom opens, revealing Sumire, Rana, and Anneliese. “Libby! Me and the girls are back!” Sumire is wearing the mostly lovely green shirtdress with a bright floral pattern, a white collar, a leather belt around her waist, and to top it off a fashionably asymmetric hat and some gloves. Certainly American in fashion if not in face. Rana and Anneliese, smiling, standing at the door. Oh boy, here comes the surprise. “Boy have I got the surprise for you! We’re going to head down to Baltimore!”You frown a little. Traveling that far? For what? “Why Baltimore?”“Oh… maybe because the Homestead Grays are playing there and I got us some front row tickets?” She grins happily, holding up a few ticket stubs for the four of you. You squint. Sumire? Baseball? Something is clearly afoot. You look over at Kirby, who simply wags his tail idly, looking at you expectantly.“Um. That’s… that’s really nice Sumire but is there a catch to this?”She shakes her head. “No catch! We’ll pack our bags, stay there for a few days! Watch a baseball game! You need to get outside anyway, Libby. You’re going to get fat.” She pokes your side, and you nearly leap at her if it weren’t for the plate of food on your lap. “Look. #5’s already provided a car, we’ll take the train, drive the rest of the way, boom, set, match!” She snaps her finger. “Come on! Smile! Be happy!”You smile a little. “Alright, alright.” Kirby lifts the plate of food off you as you slide out of bed. “Gotta say, it’s really nice of you, Sumire. I didn’t think you were much of a baseball fan.”“I’m not.” She taps your chest, smiling. “You are though.” You chuckle a little. Wow! This was so nice of her. Already you can smell the hot dogs, hear the crack of the bat, and just feel the electricity of going to a game. Oh you missed that.--
>>43107648[3/4]“Sumire. We took a wrong turn.” You went early in the evening so you could spend the night on the train, then get to Baltimore by morning. “Baltimore’s south. We’re heading east.” You sat in the passenger seat, your bags and luggage all stuffed into the back and piled on top of your car. You were dressed for the occasion, a nice casual dress, a couple of baseball gloves too in case a foul ball came your way. All well and good. But you were miles away from Baltimore.“I know,” says Sumire.Hm. Maybe the Grays are playing away from the city? Wouldn’t be the first time a Negro League Baseball team had to do that. You squint as you pass by a sign. Beachfront in half a mile. Hm. Maybe they’re playing on a beach? That’d be an interesting change of pace. Playing on sand instead of grass. You guess those colored boys have to do a lot to get people in the seats. Wacky wild changeups are one of them. These roads are certainly getting rougher too, this is certainly territory for them. It’s good thing you packed those huge umbrellas that people usually use for the beach otherwise you’d cook like ham out here.Heck, you’re already cooking ham in the car. You look back to see Rana and Anneliese, fast asleep in the back seat.Boy, a lot of grass and not a lot of buildings out here either. “We’re here!” Sumire parks the car, surprising Rana and Anneliese out of their slumber.“Yes, finally!” Rana quickly hops out of the car and stretches her legs and arms out, yelling delight. “Waaahoooo! We’re at the beach!” She starts stripping out of her dress and into a swimsuit.
>>43107667[4/4]… maybe the Grays are playing underwater?”“Come on, Libby!” Sumire steps out of the car, unbuttoning her blouse a little. “Help me set up the towels and umbrellas!”…Sumire tilts her head. “Libby. You’re not moving.” Anneliese steps out of the car, taking in the wide open view of the golden yellow sands, the rushing waves, and the immense heat of the summer days. “Libby. Yoohoo…” Sumire waves her hand in front of you. “You in there?” She blinks. “Is it my swimsuit?” She parts her blouse a little, revealing her dark blue swimsuit. “It is my old school swimsuit from back in the day, but what works works, right?”> “I hate the beach.”> “I am going to kill you.”> “There better be baseball under the sea otherwise I’m going to drown you.”> Other

It’s a venial sin, yes, but it’s still a sin.”She nods, her smile fading a little bit. “Yeah…”“Unless of course there’s baseball being played underneath those waves in which case I won’t have to drown you.”She scoffs, stepping out of the car and moving to your side. “Come on, Libby! Live a little!” She opens your door, letting in a stunning amount of sun onto you. You hiss a little bit, averting your eyes. “Oh, don’t tell me you’re one of those kinds of people! We’ve been to beaches before!”“Yeah. On business,” you emphasize. “And we don’t stick around too long. You’re telling me you want to spend the entire day here!?”“Yep.” Candid as ever. She leans in, frowning a little. “Come on. A little sun never killed anyone.” Your hestitant expression still says it all. “Fine. There’s an actual good reason why we’re out here.” She snaps her finger. “Kirby.”He appears onto the dashboard. “Operator #5 dispatched us to investigate reports of some sort of monster roaming the beaches here in Maryland.” Oh. That’s sort of a good reason you suppose. But why did they have to lie about it? “Sumire assumedly kept it secret because you would have refused if it meant having to step onto a beach.” Oh. Yeah, you probably would have. “Personally, I do not see what is so wrong. It seems scenic, wouldn’t you agree?” Rana is already rushing into the water, happily laughing as she rides the waves.“It’s nice,” you say. “But I tan.”“Everyone tans!” yells Sumire.“Not like me,” you mutter. “Look. I appreciate the sentiment. Giving me an easy mission to ease myself back into the groove, maybe even relax a little because there sure as heck ain’t some kind of monster out here, but forget it. I’m not going out there.”[1/2]
>>43108352[2/2]Sumire frowns. “Oh. Well. Okay then. Well, uh…” She scratches the back of her head, looking around. “Alright. Yeah, go ahead and watch the car for us then. I’ll get everything set up.” She grabs one of the big umbrellas and a suitcase, then starts heading down to the beach. Anneliese follows her, holding more luggage as well.…Kirby looks at you. “I believe she was trying to guilt you.”“It’s working,” you groan. You hate seeing Sumire be disappointed and sad. You look down at yourself. You didn’t even bring a swimsuit. Unless she packed one in your suitcase that she packed for you. Hopefully it’s not anything too revealing. You step out of the car, yelping at how hot the sand underneath your feet feels and grab your suitcase. You open it up quickly.Oh. That’s not bad.--Sumire is standing out in the sun, watching Anneliese and Rana splash each other with water in the surfs. “Hey, Sumire.” She looks back, and immediately grins in delight at seeing you with your swimsuit. A dark colored little number, with stars on a tiny skirt that does nothing to cover anything. Tight fitting, but good enough for the water. There were a couple of families out and about here, probably catching the early morning privacy before the real rush of the crowd came. Of course, this was a pretty secluded beach.“Finally!” She walks over to you, then realizes all you’re doing is sitting down in the shade of the two umbrellas, rubbing sunscreen all over every exposed bit of skin. “Oh.” Her grin fades a little. “Well, it’s a start. I’ll get you out of that shade in no time!”“I’d like to see you try.” You drop down on a prototype wireless radio next to you, then pull out your box score notebook. “Now if you excuse me, there’s stuff that actually warrants my attention.” You turn the baseball game on.[2/3]
>>43108371[3/3]She sighs, sitting down next to you and pulling out the picnic basket. “You’re not going to walk around, play with Rana and Anneliese in the water?”“It’ll wash off my sunscreen,” you mutter. She rolls her eyes. You had to admit. There was something about Sumire’s swimsuit that just looked plain cute. Too cute for her. You shake it off quickly. “Here, how about you rub that stuff on me then?” You quirk your brow. “What? I don’t want to get sun burnt.”> “Do it yourself. Lazy.”> “Fine. Lazy.”> Other

> “Fine. Lazy.”Ugh. Lazy. “Fine. Turn over.” She happily obliges, pulling her shoulderstraps off and then slightly pulling the swimsuit down. She lies down on a towel right outside of the shade. “You know, applying sunscreen in the sun kind of defeats the purpose, you know that right?”“Quiet, slave,” she says. You groan, then squirt out a little bit of the white goop onto her back. “Ah! Whoa!” She yelps a bit. “Oh God, that’s cold!” You smirk, think she can just call you her slave and get away with it, who does she think she is. You gently smooth your hands over her back, rubbing the sunscreen thoroughly all over her. “Ah… this is the life.”“What are you on about?” Your hands are already cooking in the heat. The rest of you’s in the shade, but your hands are reaching out. At least gloves are fashionable these days.“Relaxing at the beach, playing with the girls, getting my body rubbed over by you?” You blush a little. Why does she say things like that? “This is heaven.”“More like hell.” You start to lather more sunscreen onto her bare legs. Now this is the tricky part because quite honestly Sumire has some very nice legs. Probably the only redeeming feature. You gently squeeze your hands on her thighs, spreading more and more of the lotion onto her. “Make sure you get every bit of skin, Libby. Don’t want to look like I belong at Wounded Knee.”You look over at her butt. Some of it’s exposed, so shamelessly.Nuts to that, a red butt’s better than having to grab it in front of people, who are already starting to stare. What are they looking at?Kirby at least looks like a simple black cat, he’s even discarded his solid red eyes for some innocent looking pure blue ones. “So you do not like the beach, Liberty?”[1/2]
>>43109175[2/2]“Nope.” You pull on the shoulder straps of Sumire’s swimsuit, pulling it up over her chest. She groans, apparently surprised at it being over. She’s again surprised by you squirting more of it onto her face, little white goopy droplets already dripping down her cheeks, her nose, and her forehead. “Rub.” She rolls her eyes, rubbing her face and squeezing the lotion all over. “I mean, Doctor Savage used to take me on expeditions out here, but I’d always have a hat or something to cover me from the sun. I’d take a day of being hot over a day of being tanned.”“I think you look lovely when you’re tanned!” whines Sumire. “Come on!” She nudges you, grinning. “How about we go play in the water! Rana and Anneliese are having fun!” You look over to see them jump up in time with the wave. They ride it all the way back to the sands, happily laughing. For Anneliese, this is probably the first time she’s even been to a beach. Germany isn’t known for having beachfront property after all. “It looks great!”“You can go,” you say. “I’m staying here.”Sumire groans. “Ugh. What a whiner.” She stands up, jogging over to the water.Kirby looks over at you. “Not going to join them?”“Well… I’d like to but, you know, sun’s out,” you say. “And besides, we have to look for that monster, right?”“There are no such monsters in this area,” he says. “Believe me.” You groan. Kirby was lying to you even about that!? You cross your arms, pouting furiously. What to do, what to do…> Rana brought some buckets. Maybe a sandcastle is in order? I’m going to fix us up some food.” He nods, proceeding to remain exactly where he s and stare out over the ocean. Great, glad to know he’s being vigilant. You reach into the picnic basket. Sandwiches, some potatoes, some cuts of chicken, big watermelon to slice as well. Oooh, oranges, it’s been ages since you’ve had citrus stuff. A little bit of milk, some sodapop, water of course, and… beer?Wait. That must be Anneliese’s.Eh, some ham and cheese sandwiches ought to be good. You grab a knife out of the basket then start slicing up some bread as the count goes to 3-2. The announcer is doing his best but it is the Senators and the Yankees in the top of the 3rd inning. “… and here comes the wind up, the pitch, called strike three for out number one, Guzman goes out on a called strike, did not even swing, and was called out. He does not seem very happy with the umpire right now as he goes to the dugout.” You shook your head. Caught napping.“Hey. Is that the game?” You look over to see a young couple in their own bathing suits, apparently out on a walk. You nod. “Oh, sweet! Honey, would you mind getting my scorebook from the car?”The woman is indignant. “Howard!”“Just for this inning, I promise!” he says as he sits down. “Who’s winning?”“Yankees up six,” you say.“Haaa!” He pumps his fists happily, nearly kicking up some sand. You chuckle a little as you prepare up the morning meal. The woman rolls her eyes, walking to the cars.An older gentleman, apparently out on a survey comes over as well. “Hey, is that the Yankees game?”“Sure is!” says the first man. “Have a seat, old timer!” The old guy sits down as well, listening in.[1/2]
>>43109937[2/2]--Rana, Sumire, and Anneliese tiredly drudge back to your picnic spot, only to find that their spot is nearly completely overrun by boys all listening in to the ball game which has now reached the bottom of the 4th. You’ve never seen so many Yankees fans, but with DiMaggio playing you suppose you can’t blame them. The three have to fight to sit down in the shade, then grab their towels to dry off. “Um. Who are these guys?” asks Sumire.“Well…” You hand a sandwich to Sumire. “They’re baseball fans.” Sumire rolls her eyes, muttering as she takes a bite out of the sandwich.“Ahem.” You blink, looking over to a group of very angry looking women in swimsuits. “We’d like our men back, please?”You sigh, then shut the radio off. “Sorry, guys. Show’s over.” They all groan in frustration, standing up and dispersing. You suppose it’s a blowout game anyway, no way the Senators come back from an eight run lead.Anneliese smiles as she bites down on her sandwich, towel over her shoulder. You noticed her new sparkling white swimsuit, already wet and dripping with water from her time in the water. “I must say, that was very fun, Rana!” She happily grins, as does Rana. “I’ve been to a beach before, living inland you don’t see this so often.”[2/3]
>>43109957[3/3]“You have been through so much, Annie.” Rana happily pats Anneliese on the head. “Least we can do is give you this one day.” Rana as well is wearing a very tight pink swimsuit as well, showing off every curve of her body. You noticed a lot of the guys looking at her funny, and probably for good reason. Sometimes even you have to stop and realize that Rana’s body is just that good. Who knows what she’ll look like at 20. “Why didn’t you join us, Christine?”“Ah, you know I hate the beach.” You chew on a sandwich, grumbling. “Miss Personality here practically had to trick me to come here.”Anneliese waves her arms about, shocked. “How could you hate this, this is lovely!” She grins, rubbing a bit of sand onto her hands. “This sand is so soft, it’s like sugar!”“Well don’t put it in your coffee,” says Sumire. “Because it’s not. I’ve tried.”“Well, after we eat.” Rana reaches into her bag, then pulls out a volleyball. “We can play some volleyball, I noticed there was a net just a little aways down there!” Rana grins happily, patting you on the arm. “Come on, Christine, you get to be on my team!”“Hell no, she’s on my team!” Sumire grabs your arm, dragging you close. “You got Anneliese.”“What’s volleyball?” asks Anneliese.> “Guys. She does so, loudly. “Alright! We’ll have a volleyball match, three on one, Libby on her own team. See you all at the net!” She starts storming off to the net to warm up. You gotta admit, something about Sumire trying so hard to beat you is cute, but you can’t tell her that. She’d never stop challenging you to stuff then.“That’s quite the statement, Christine,” says Anneliese. “I mean, a numerical advantage is really hard to beat in sports. Can you really do that?”“Of course I can,” you say. You take a sip of orange juice. “Just wait and see.” You point to Rana. “Why don’t you teach her the rules, Rana?”“Oh, right!” Rana pulls Anneliese aside. “So, Annie. Here are the rules of Volleyball. So you got two teams, a net, and a ball, okay? Basic goal is to get the ball to hit the ground on the opponent’s turf…”--Sumire leans over side to side, stretching and grimacing as the blood starts flowing through her body. Rana and Anneliese stand on either side of her, with Rana ready to serve the ball. “Alright, Libby, get ready for a pounding!” Kirby sits atop one of the net posts, keeping score for the two teams, well one team and you. “First to ten points wins!” You nod, holding your umbrella over your shoulder, standing straight. “… do you have to use that umbrella?”“I told you,” you say. “I’m not going into the sun.”“But people are looking!” shouts Sumire, who points to the four or five guys watching and waiting for the chance at a wardrobe malfunction.“I don’t care what they think,” you say, pulling your sunglasses down. “No amount of sun is getting on me today.”[1/2]

> Go big or go home. You serve the ball again, flying it high above their heads over the court. They scramble to get it back over the net, with Rana diving to get the first hit, then Sumire combining for the next one. You spike the ball back into Sumire’s face again for another point. Her face might as well be part of the court. That’s 2-0 in favor of you. “Alright, alright!” Sumire picks herself back up. “We were just going easy on you, right girls?”Anneliese raises her hand. “I still know very little about volleyball.”“Come at us, Libby!” yells Sumire. You dribble the ball in your hand. You quickly take your sunglasses off and toss them into the sand. Your mom always did tell you that if you want to succeed at sports, it’s not about having fun, it’s about winning. You serve the ball again.--10-0 shutout. Sumire groans, lying back in the sun, sunglasses over her eyes. Some of the redness on her face is probably from all the balls you spiked back into her face. You were finishing up lunch now as Anneliese began building sand castles. Rana was back at the car getting something from the trunk, whatever it was. “What are you building there, Anneliese?”“Oh just uh…” She pulls the bucket up, showing off her little sand castle, no bigger than she was. “It is a sand castle. This is what Rana told me about. It’s uh…” You noticed that she was in the center of it, sunken in slightly. Walls surrounded her with large bucket towers serving as watch towers. “This is now my castle.”You giggle a little. “I recognize your sovereign right to exist, Anneliese.” You hand her a slice of watermelon. “Go ahead and eat.” She beams, immediately digging into the watermelon and getting red juice and seeds all over her mouth. “… not that quickly.” She stops, looking up at you.“Forget about it, Libby.” Sumire pulls her sunglasses up, squinting at you. “The kraut’s hopeless.” You roll your eyes, but Anneliese at least feels somewhat hurt by that.[1/2]
“Don’t listen to Sumire, she’s just mad about losing to me,” you assure. Anneliese nods, continuing to add onto her castle. “You just keep building. You’ll have yourself a glorious castle worthy of Mars in no time.” Speaking of which, was Rana?“Alright, Kirby, pull!” A clay plate flew out, and then immediately exploded. You all flinch at the gunshot, nearly instinctively transforming into your Magical Girl garbs. Then you see Rana, wearing a shooting glove on her trigger hand and wielding a long barreled shotgun. “Oooh, that was a good shot! Another!”“Rana!” You stand up, walking next to her. “What are you doing!?”Rana smiles. “Oh, I took my shotgun to the beach!” She actually owns a gun?! Kirby fires another clay pigeon, and Rana immediately nails that one. The pieces go dropping right down into the ocean! “Yes! Two for two!”“Rana, how about we do normal beach stuff?” asks Sumire. “Nobody goes to the beach to shoot things!” A man walking by with his shotgun pauses, then quickly turns around right for his car.“Aw.” Rana frowns deeply at that, the shotgun sagging her grip. “Well, I guess we could play in the water some more.” You look up, still the sun’s pretty high. Ugh… You are not going out into the water like this. “Can you put my shotgun back into the car, Christine? Sorry.”You sigh, taking it from her. “It’s okay. I’ll be right back.” Sumire, Rana, and Anneliese watch you leave for the car, out of sight of your little picnic area. After putting the shotgun back where it belongs, you walk back to the site.Only to find all the umbrellas missing from the picnic site. “Um. Sumire?” you ask. “Where are the umbrellas?”She looks up at you. “We had umbrellas?” she asks mockingly. Rana and Anneliese are busying building up the sand castle. You’re exposed in the sun. > Dive underneath Sumire, this is her fault, make her pay for it.You quickly dive and slide underneath Sumire’s body, taking cover. “Whoa, Libby!” Agh, your legs and most of your lower back is still exposed! You spit out some sand, ugh gross. “What the hell are you doing!?” She sits up, looking down on you. You quickly dive underneath her towel. “Come on, it’s just the sun! Nobody ever died from it!”“Don’t you remember the City of Z!”“… oh yeah.” She snaps her finger. “But the guy didn’t die from exposure to the sun. He died because the city was a giant magnifying glass to harness the sun’s power and he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time! Come on! Don’t be such a pussy!” Rana and Anneliese gasp at Sumire’s language, immediately shrinking into the sand castle.“Nuts to that, I am not going to tan today, I promise you that!” you yell. “Now get me an umbrella!”Sumire sighs. “Unfortunately, we lost them.” You scream, slamming your face into the hot sand. “Wind blew them off.” Yeah, all this wind. Wow. So powerful. You can barely feel it. “You’ll just have to deal with it.”You groan, gripping her towel intensely. “I hate being tanned!” you scream.“Oh, don’t be such a baby!” She pulls her towel up, further exposing you to the sun’s rays. “Come on, it’s just the sun!” You look up, and are immediately blinded by its rays. You quickly try to retreat underneath another towel, but Sumire pulls that off as well. “Libby, come on! You’re being unreasonable!”[1/2]
>>43111947[2/2]“I’m not!” You pull up your scorebook, hug herself tight, then sit underneath its pages. “Look, Sumire, it’s not just about being tanned, it’s about the fact that unless I’m completely buck naked I’ll have lines on me that aren’t tanned! And that’s going to be really darn funny looking! You understand that?”She stares at you, then thinks on it. A tinge of pink comes to her cheeks. “Is it bad that I actually want to see that?”You pick up a towel and throw it at her. “Pervert!” She laughs a little, lifting her sunglasses up onto her forehead. “What, is this some kind of taxi dancing show for you or something!?”“Come on, relax, relax!” She grabs your wrists, and pulls you closer. “Seriously, you’re here to relax, not to get all worked about the sun.” You pout at her angrily, grumbling. “Look, you’ll see! Nothing to worry about!”“There’s something out there,” says Kirby, peering through a pair of binoculars. You pick them up and look through. Huh, he is right. Looks like a hump or something. > Keep watching it, maybe it’s just a log or something. You keep watching it. It’s still just floating out there, single hump above the surface of the water. To the average person, this may not seem like much. Maybe it’s just a log or a bit of driftwood or something else. But to you, it could be anything. Considering your experience, it really could be anything. From a submarine, to a drowning man, to even the Storm Ace.But whatever it is, it immediately disappears beneath the surface. Hm. “Kirby, what do you think that was?”“Maybe it was the monster that #5 wanted,” he says, hopping up onto your shoulder. “We’ll have to see if it returns.”“Boring!” Sumire stands up, throwing her arms up. “If you’ll excuse me. I’m going to go play in the water some more. Rana, Anneliese, do you girls want to-“Anneliese pokes up out of her sand castle, now much bigger and much more expansive the last time you saw it. It now includes a second tier of walls, much higher than the first, along with what appear to be sand castle guards along the battlements. She wears a towel on her head, glaring at you two. “No one speak to the Queen without her express permission! Nobody!” She drops back down.[1/2]
>>43112706[2/2]Rana pokes her head up, smiling. “We’re playing Castle right now!” She wraps a towel around her head as well. She starts coughing, playing the part of an innocent beggar. “Oh my Queen, please feed us for another month! We are starving and the summers are so hot!”“The Queen decrees that you will be fed when you entertain her!” yells Anneliese. “Now entertain me!” Rana starts bouncing up and down, trying to imitate dancing. “Ja, ja… dance faster!”You and Sumire glance at each other. Left to their own devices, those two go nuts. “Well…” Sumire grabs your wrist, grinning. “Come on, Libby! You and me, it’s no fun going alone!”“Aw come on, Sumire!” you shout. “First the sun, now the water!?”“You love swimming, stop whining!” She runs into the water. The minute your feet touch the water, they are just drenched in the warm saltwater of the sea. It’s actually quite nice. Well, you are wearing a bathing suit. > “You’re on!”“You’re on!” Fine, maybe a nice challenge of swimming will be enough to take your mind off of the fact that you’re going to be cooked like hamburger meat. You kick off from the ground and start at a good decent breast stroke between waves. Sumire follows you, immediately dumping all her energy into furiously kicking and swimming right through the water. That might pass in the Olympics, but not in distance swimming. You can already feel the salt collecting in your hair, stiffening it up as you push right through the water.Your lead is immense. And after what seem like a few minutes, you tread water and look back. That coastline looks quite far away. Sumire waves at you, treading water in return. “Aw come on!” she yells at you.“Better luck next time, Sumire!” you yell back. “Hey, maybe I can give you some swimming lessons later, you could sure use them!”“Yeah, whatever!” she yells. You feel something on your leg. What the-The next thing you know, you’re being dragged underwater. You exhale through your nose, expelling water out. The salt stings at your eyes as you try to look through the dark murky waters to see what exactly just grabbed. You look down.Oh. It’s a giant octopus.> GIANT OCTOPUS <> Terror of the Seas and Marylanders <Its great big saucer like eyes stare right at you as it starts drawing you closer and closer. More tentacles wrap around you as you struggle to fight it off. You try to transform, only for the Shard to cancel it out. Damn it! Kirby, Kirby, where are you!? You can feel the fabrics of your swimsuit tearing apart as the suction cups on those tentacles rip it away. > Tell this thing to let go!“Alright.” Kirby swims down to its eye. “Hey, please let go of her.” It immediately slaps Kirby down into the depths of the sea. Kirby! The octopus slowly brings you in closer and closer, then reveals the beak it uses to crush its prey. Your eyes go wide at it. You immediately struggle to get free. Nothing you do however gets you any closer, all you can feel is your arm being loose enough to knock on the tentacle.Suddenly a rock flies up. Kirby again floats up. “Here’s a weapon instead.” You grab the rock. Sharp at one end, dull at the other. Perfect. You stab the sharp end into one of the tentacles. Blood starts spurting out of the wound, and it immediately unravels, letting it you go. Scraps of your swimsuit float up to the surface as the Octopus wiggles its tentacles at you. You slash and cut at them. One of them slaps you on the breast, making weird feelings rush down your spine. You repay it with a stab to the tentacle again, and it tries once again to slap you around. Not this time. You swim at it, wielding the rock with the pointy end. If there’s anything combat has taught you, it’s that the eyes are the groin of the head. You stab the Octopus straight in its eye, completely shattering it. It immediately flails about, its tentacles spazzing out and slapping you away. It quickly turns over and swims away from you, blasting a cloud of ink to cover its escape.Ha! You did it! You beat a Gigantic Octopus! Kirby floats up next to you. “Good work. Operator #5 will be pleased to know of the situation.”--You breach the surface of the water, sighing deeply as you walk back to the picnic site. Sumire is laying down upon the surf, but once she sees you she immediately runs over. “Christine! Oh my God, what happened!?” She walks next to you as you aimlessly wander over to the site.[1/3]
>>43113714[2/3]You shrug. “Oh. Well. I got attacked by a giant octopus. But don’t worry. It’s done, #5’s monster is completely defeated and I saved the day, hehe!” You grin, staring at her. She stares at you, a slight blush to her face. “What?” You look down. And find nothing but strings little torn bits of fabric keeping you decent. You look back up at her. You can feel the immense fire rushing to your cheeks. She grins a little, giggling at your indency. “So uh… giant octopus huh?” You start squealing a bit, holding your hands over your crotch and your breasts. No, no, no! “Come on, tough guy.” She wraps her arm around your shoulders. “I’ll get you a towel.”--The sun is starting to set. All of you are dressed back into casual clothing. Sumire though only wearing a nice clean blouse, apparently not caring for even a skirt or pants or anything else. Rana and Anneliese are already leaning on each other, fast asleep in the back of the car as you two begin to pack. You managed to find the umbrellas though, thrown all the way to the side behind some rocks. Sneaky, sneaky, Sumire. “Well, that should be it.” You’re wearing nothing underneath your dress. Not even your underwear. You don’t care anymore. Today was absolutely horrible. Sumire walks over to you, tipping her sunglasses down to size you up. She licks her lips. “Mmm, mmm, you know I love chocolate, Libby.”
>>43113747[3/3]You’re tanned, tanned all over. You’re completely browned from your experience in the sun. Most people take an entire day to tan and then it shows up the next day. It only took you a few hours and it shows up at sundown and doesn’t go away for almost a week. “Not. A. Word.” You step into the driver’s seat, gripping the steering wheel hard.Sumire sits back, kicking her feet up onto the dash. “Come on! We had fun, look at little Annie, and Rana too, they had fun!” You look back. They’re fast asleep, right on each other. Yeah, you guess they did. “Don’t be such a whiner. Admit it, you had fun too.”“I didn’t,” you say.“Come on.” She pokes your side, and you cough a bit, suppressing a giggle. She’s trying to tickle it out of you. “Come on, my chocolate baby! You’ll wake them, hahaha!” You wiggle your fingers along her sides, trying to make her submit. “No, no, no!” She kicks her feet up at your chest, trying to kick you away. All this does is give you an even easier target. You grab her feet, then start running your fingers along the soles of her feet. “Ahahaha! No, no, no, no! Stop, stop, stop! I give, I give, I give!” She giggles, covering her mouth, trying not to be too loud so as not to wake up. You decide to show some mercy and end it. You look back to see Rana and Anneliese, not woken up. Heavy sleepers you suppose. You sigh, leaning back in your seat and smiling a bit. “Okay, I admit it. I had fun, Sumire.” She gathers herself, breathing heavily. “So, yeah, thank you, Sumire.” You bite your lip a bit. “It was really nice of you to bring me out here.”Sumire looks a little surprised at that, then nods with the most heartfelt smile you’ve ever seen her give. “Yeah. Well, I try to take care of you. I mean, you’d be nothing without me.” You roll your eyes. “Sorry I lied to you too about the baseball game.”“Well, hey, now you know how to make it up to me,” you say. “Last game of the series is tomorrow night, we can go see it.” She looks a little hesitant at that. “Just saying.”“I guess.” She shrugs, kicking her feet back up onto the dashboard once again. The two of you sit in silence for a bit. The light’s fading, but not quite fast enough yet. Over the horizon the purple sky is just giving you a struggling light as if beckoning you to stay. “You know,” says Sumire. “You and me, we don’t have to go just yet.”You look over at her. “What, you want me to try on some new bathing suit and model for you?”[1/2]
>>43114537[2/2]“Much as I’d love that, I only brought the one,” she says. “And wearing mine, your tits would just ruin it.” You roll your eyes at that. She reaches into the backset, carefully navigating past Anneliese’s legs, then places a baseball glove into your lap. “We can have a catch.”You stare at it, then look over at Sumire. “Who are you and what have you done with Sumire?”“Come on!” She grins. “You haven’t played catch in ages.” She grabs her own glove and fits it on, then steps out of the car. “Just for about a half hour while we still have light, okay?” You nod, then gently fit your own hand into the glove. You can feel your Soul Ring sort of brush up against the leather. Sumire wants to play catch with you. What is the world coming to you?“She cares about you,” says Kirby. You look on your dash to see him laying about. “You understand that, right?”You smirk a bit. “She’s a merc. She’s paid to care about me.” You open the door, then hold out your glove. Gently, Sumire tosses the baseball right into it. The smacking sound of the glove catching it invigorates you. You have been waiting to hear that for yourself for so long ever since you got injured. Sumire stands there, throwing arm on her hip, glove out in the air ready to receive. This is what you’re fighting for. With a soft toss, you gently underhand the ball into her glove.“Ooh, nice one.” She smiles, throwing it back to you. “Hey, give me your heater!” She crouches down like a catcher, grinning.“I wouldn’t smile if I were you, you’d lose a tooth.” She gently holds it up higher, to cover the lower half of her face. Heh. You go into the wind up, then bend over and whip the ball right into her glove. She yelps, jumping in surprise at how fast it was. Wasn’t even that fast you reckon, probably only seventy or eighty.“Ha, nothing!” she boasts, throwing it back to you.If only you could stay a little longer. You could do this all day.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPOBuv8k5hQ
