Welcome to Academy City. The time is evening, the weather is cold, and the date is January 20.You are Kyril Torikov, Level 3 telekinetic ‘superhero’ and you were about to embark on an adventured. Along for the ride were your mother, girlfriend, two of your best friends, and Sparky. Your destination was Russia. A portal had opened up in School District 10, spilling out a veritable blizzard on Academy City’s side. Kaoru, Touma, and Kyouko had gone missing earlier in the day and this was your only clue so far as to where they went. Finding the culprit was hard enough without a lead and your missing friends was the only one you had. You had to believe they were alive somehow despite the Siberian weather on the other side of the portal. It was with Nayuta’s blessing that your little expedition drove off and in to the portal.Welcome to Russia. The time is afternoon, the weather is biting, and the date remains unchanged.Misaka #10777 met your party on the other side. If Third Echelon had a station chief, or a bureau, for Russia, it would be her. She came bearing gifts and intelligence. The former was some kind of AK for your mother despite the fact that you had already brought along weapons for your own use. As for the intelligence there were only to major locations of note. There had been a battle nearby earlier but due to its nature, it had displaced itself to another area. If your friends were heading towards any signs of human activity, it would be towards there. The other was a forest with strange tracks about. If someone was trying to cover their tracks they were doing a terrible job of it. On the other hand it could be as easily be your missing friends. With sunlight fading you had to move quickly.>Search the battlefield>Comb through the forest

With the current state of international affairs you decided to err on the side of caution. Besides, forests were inherently magical weren’t they?“Misaka would not know says Misaka as she admits to a gap in her knowledge.”You, along with Sparky, were ranging ahead to find a path for the halftrack behind you.“What do you think then? Bad at hiding or a part of the weather?” you asked.“In Misaka’s professional opinion, Misaka would assume it was a trap, says Misaka with no small amount of paranoia.”“I definitely am not like this,” Sparky grumbled, “Especially with those things.”She was eyeing the weapons in her clone’s hands. You had a feeling she was distinctly uncomfortable with how casual the whole party was with firearms.“Isn’t that a good thing?” you asked, “That they’re starting to become their own person, I mean.”“Misaka must conceal her Ability and due to logistical concerns the Sisters have concluded that the acquisition and usage of a local fire arm is the optimal solution says Misaka with perfect, unassailable logic.”Sparky simply pressed her palm in to her face. #10777 signalled for a halt as the halftrack carrying the rest of your party arrived.“The trail is still fresh, says Misaka with a slight worry in her tone.”“Someone must have passed through here recently then,” Sparky concluded.“What Misaka meant was that this was the exact details of this trail has remained the same as when Misaka had found them two hours ago says Misaka as quickly explains the abnormality.”You looked around. Aside from your mother and the Dean, there were no signs of Code M anywhere. Likewise Sparky and #10777 couldn’t detect any notable life signs either. Most animals wouldn’t be out in this kind of weather.“Maybe I can find something,” your mother chimed in, “After all, if there is life in these woods then all I need to do is ask for it.”That and she would risk alerting whatever was unnaturally kept these tracks fresh.[1/2]

Potential new reader here. Where are we in timeline of canon? The date is January and I see a clone so it seems to be further than soon to be released NT14. Does that mean there is no canon at all here?
>>42583432canon was derailed awhile ago brah
>>42583432Season one is where we sort of followed canon.
>>42583432The canon went to hell a long time ago. Like, it started getting rocked when Index showed up, then it got jostled heavily with the vampires, and it got totally fucked by the time the sisters arc finished. If there's anything from canon left, it's warped as fuck. You might recognize some stuff, but it's going to be totally different because of shenanigans. The main points of divergence are that Touma never lost his memory and the aftermath of the Sisters arc was weird, resulting in him never meeting Last Order or getting shot in the head. Apparently WW3 went totally different, but we only have bits of details since that mostly happened while we were getting turned into robocop.

Your idea of tossing random objects in to the distance was met with silent disapproval. Thus you decided to go with your mother’s idea. Having some idea was better than having none after all.“Good, what is the local temperature?” your mother asked #10777.“-37.5 degrees centigrade says Misaka as she answers the simple query.”“Good, not too cold,” your mother nodded. She rolled up her sleeve, having produced a knife from her person. Before anyone else could get a word in she dragged the blade along her forearm. Her blood came gushing out. It wasn’t natural the way it moved and you could barely distinguish the Code M emissions as the liquid pooled on the ground before snaking away in a web-like pattern. There was a pulse to it, almost as if it was matching your mother’s heartbeat. Having magically exsanguinated herself, your mother looked pale as a sheet yet stood firm against the wind. Again, it was Sparky that looked distinctly uncomfortable.“There are two in the distance,” your mother pointed in a direction, “And another three coming from-”She had only managed to point in another direction before she fell over. A crack pierced the background howling of the snowstorm.“Shooter, ten o’clock at two hundred metres says Misaka as she yells for everyone to get in cover.”There was no spray of blood, given that your mother was running without. She laid there in the snow as the blood slowly gathered itself back in to her. Sparky reflexively tossed some lighting out in the direction but it didn’t seem like it did anything save disturb the trees. #10777 had taken cover behind a tree as Asuka, Sagara, and Kyousuke dashed to seek their own. Another shot this time pinged off the side of the halftrack. You hoped it didn’t cause any damage as you shouted,“Covering fire, we need to>get out of this kill zone.”>take out that shooter.”

#10777 and Sagara raised their guns and began spraying in the direction of the gunfire. CADRE sprang to life as you tried to get a bead on the shooter. Another shot struck tree bark, narrowly missing Kyousuke as he set up his sniper rifle. The probable area shrank down to a narrow corridor ahead of you.“Fuck I can’t see ‘em,” Kyousuke swore, “This is some Häyhä-level bullshit.”You sprang forward, mindful of the surroundings as you moved closer. It wasn’t long before your helmet picked up thermal signatures hidden in the trees.“They’re up above,” you shouted and opened fire. They were vaguely human silhouettes. Bullets tore in to the pines but they were well short of the target. They moved unnaturally fast, at least two of them did. They passed overhead as you were reloading. From their posture it didn’t look like they had guns. They were also radiating a familiar yellow. “Code M incoming.”One of the figures came at you, a long blood red blade coming down as you ducked under and out of the way of the attack. Both of you rolled away from the other as another crash of steel was heard. You brought your weapon to bear as Sagara shouted through the radio,“Cease fire, cease fire.”You kept the gun trained on the figure in front of you.“Uncle,” Asuka’s voice came on the radio. It was flat and even. You weren’t surprised were you ambushed by Asuka’s uncle yet again.“Why am I not surprised?” you could hear him say, “Are you looking for your friend? They were staying with us until Teacher could send them home but…”“Of course Uncle,” Asuka replied, “I would appreciate your help.”You concluded that he was on alert too ever since #10777 had been poking around earlier. It certainly would explain his reaction to being scry’d, especially the way your mother had.“One of them could help with stopping the local disturbance but if you leave quickly with them I will not complain,” he said.[1/2]

Everyone regrouped back at the halftrack. Your mother had been helped on to the vehicle while Asuka and Sagara stood and waited for you.“What about the local disturbance?” you asked.Asuka’s uncle sighed at the question.“An angel fell to earth again,” he finally said, “Only this time it wasn’t on accident. We don’t know who exactly but we know that it was supposed to be used as a weapon against the enemies of Christianity.”“Sure we do,” his companion spoke, “The Russians did it.”You turned towards the feminine voice, whose figure was now no longer surrounded by a yellow aura. Instead, it was her sword which glowed red. You had to assume that Asuka’s uncle had buffed both of them.“Oh my, I forgot to introduce myself, you may call me Irina.”Despite the hood on you could tell she was going to be a lively character. Asuka’s uncle brought you all back on topic though,“It’s definitely not the Russians but it doesn’t matter who did it. We’re working with Annihilatus to send it back before it literally tears Russia in half. The problem is that we don’t have something that can cut through unearthly presence of an Angel.”“We do now though,” Irina answered, “One of your friends has that Right hand doesn’t he?”She was referring to Touma no doubt.“He’s from Academy City though,” Asuka’s uncle warned, “He will be in great danger if he decides to intervene, both from the City and its enemies.”“Then can’t we force them to make peace or organise a ceasefire at least?” Irina pushed.“As if we had a hotline to the City’s Board of Directors, and that’s assuming both them and the Russian government would agree to it.”“They are leading you on dear,” Asuka remarked, “How manipulative of you, Uncle.”“I was told to use every resource possible to achieve world peace,” he told her.If anything this only increased your desire to>Speak to Touma and everyone else first>Return to the City with all due haste

>>42587070>Return to the City with all due haste
You didn’t jump to agreeing right away. First was to see to your missing friends, especially since Asuka’s uncle had been too specific about their condition. Of course you had to drive since your mother was recuperating in the back, along with Sparky, #10777 and Kyousuke. The other two shared the cab with you.“This sounds like a real con-job to me,” Sagara finally spoke, “Teacher might be in the big leagues but he’s always played to his own tune.”“What Sagara means is that their wish for a cessation of hostilities is not an end, but a means towards a greater goal.”“I’m not sure Touma will agree with that kind of thinking.”“No,” Asuka nodded, “He probably would not, much like my beloved junior. They are moral and upstanding characters after all.”“Heh and we aren’t?” Sagara asked.Asuka didn’t consider the question worth a reply and thus kept silent. You on the other hand knew full well that you considered yourself apart from Touma and Sparky. You didn’t have to say it though. The Problem Children as a whole was not exactly part of the “good” crowd from the start. The time is night, the weather is howling, and the date remains unchanged. The camp site lay as a depression of snow underneath a pine tree. There was a good layer snow packed to form walls whilst the pine above functioned as a makeshift roof. There was a small fire and sitting by it were Touma and Kaoru. This was probably the happiest they had been to see you yet. Greetings were exchanged briefly as everyone started to settle in for some dinner. While there were plans for the next day, they were simply that and choosing between them would come tomorrow. Looking around the campfire you noted,>that Kyouko was missing>the distinct presence of Ilija>Sparky hadn’t shown up for dinner
>>42588453>that Kyouko was missingI hope nothing happened to best girl

>>42589349>lich>girlDon't fall for it, anon
You noted the presence of Ilija but summarily dismissed her. As for Sparky, it seems that she had already taken two portions of dinner, one of them for your mother. While your mother was doing fine, Sparky was intensely worried about her. It was needless but it wasn’t like it was a bad thing. The problem to you was the lack of Kyouko. Touma and Kaoru was two out of three but you’d rather have the whole set in this case.“So, where’s Kyouko?” you casually asked the other two.Their faces fell.“She was taken,” Kaoru answered evenly. You could tell she was still upset about it but she was easily compartmentalising it away.“His name was Ollerus,” Touma continued. That was a name to put on a list.“He wasn’t attacking us specifically though,” Kaoru added, “We just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. A case of bad luck really.”Touma winced.“I suspect he had been planning to steal her away for some time now,” Kaoru sighed, “If we weren’t so focused on other things.”“Don’t,” he stopped her, “It’s not your fault. It’s mine for not paying attention when I was warned.”“Before the two of you continue playing the blame game,” you interrupted, “You didn’t really answer my question. Where’s Kyouko?”“No one knows,” Asuka’s uncle answered.“Teacher says he probably hiding behind reality itself,” Touma explained, “Though what that means is anyone’s guess.”“What that means is that you’re dealing with a god-tier reality-warper,” Irina jumped in to the conversation, “To deal with that you need to bitch slap him with the immutable rules of nature itself.”“Which means asking Teacher for help,” Kaoru spoke, “And his help never comes without complications. Isn’t that right Fujimoto-san?”Asuka’s uncle didn’t refute her.“Well if you help us here with our little Angelic problem we could put a good word in for you,” Irina chirped.“And if we don’t?” you asked.“You may be stuck waiting for a long time,” Asuka’s uncle replied.[1/2]
>>42589757So that was how it was going to be huh? Assuming that Kyouko’s abduction was a bad thing, it was in your best interest to get her back. If the side effect of that was to arrange a ceasefire between Academy City and Russia then that was just a happy coincidence. That said, when you said you were lending assistance, it was mostly help Touma help them. Given that you hadn’t even begun eating in to your supplies you decided to>stay and help, cooperation furthers mutual goals>let Touma, or someone else, decide>return to the City, you got what you came for>find out more about this Ollerus fellow

Damn OP why are you so slow
“We might help if can help us get in contact with this Ollerus fellow,” you started.“Oi, oi, I can’t just ignore this,” Touma protested.“If you’re good at something, never do it for free,” you replied just as quickly. That he was unhappy with your reply was an understatement.“What VERDICT means to say is that while helping others is all well and good, if it doesn’t give you more than self-satisfaction then people are just going to abuse that,” Irina interjected.“Yeah that.”You silently thanked her for salvaging the situation.“That and you don’t want to end up as jii-san here,” she motioned to Asuka’s uncle, “forty going fifty and still single.”Touma had the good sense to not say anything but you could tell he was looking at the older man in a new light.“Kids,” he huffed, “Go to sleep, I’ll get you the info tomorrow and then we’ll see if you can actually help tomorrow.”The time is now morning, the weather is snowy, and the date is now January 21.The weather had abated somewhat. Instead of a whipping wind and a flurry, snow was calmly falling down. It was still cloudy and dark out though. Everyone, except Sparky it seemed, was an early riser. Your mother was stewing some game as Kamijou and #10777 pretended to help. Further away, Kaoru, Ilija, and Irina, were enjoying tea as Asuka and her uncle went at each other. There were no fancy extended exchanges though so you assumed they were merely practicing. Despite that, her uncle was almost always one step ahead of her. Maybe it was literal since he was taller and had longer reach despite a shorter sword. Sagara and Kyousuke were out by the halftrack, rummaging through crates and probably doing maintenance. While the helmet usually filtered in clean air for you, this morning felt incredibly fresh. The first thing to do this morning was,>breakfast>business>maintenance>waking up Sparky

You didn’t want to spend more time than necessary in this winter wasteland. Thus you walked over to where Asuka and her uncle were sparring. He barely turned to acknowledge you as he spoke,“Ollerus was a ‘nice guy’ according to our files.”He swatted Asuka’s blade aside.“The kind you find rescuing kittens, or rooting out organised crime.”He pivoted and riposted. Their respective blades ground against each other as their feet carried them around the other.“Between now and then something happened. Otherwise he wouldn’t have achieved what we magicians call a Magic God. While Irina may call him a ‘reality warper’ he also has a limitation.”Asuka must have gotten fed up with her uncle making light of her when she decided to hold the Dean by the blade. The strike hooked his sword arm and he was forced to let go altogether.“Touch,” he declared and left the field, “He falls prey to the Omnipotence Paradox. It gives him a 50/50 chance whenever he tries anything. Can he make an attack unblockable? Flip a coin. Can he defend against your attack? Flip a coin. Can he recreate the world in his image? Flip a coin.”“But, even Gods can be brought low, can they not?” Kaoru asked.“Of course, Gods can’t be killed but that doesn’t mean you render them harmless, or a non-issue.”“I assume that you have a way to do this then,” you noted.“Of course.”He wasn’t lying but he wasn’t going to tell you more, at least without you rendering him a service. You figured you could at least hear out his plan before agreeing to anything. When Sparky woke up she was brought up to speed by Asuka's uncle.“The plan is simple, we need him,” he pointed at Touma, “To tag the Angel. The problem is getting close to the Angel itself. Between all of us, we should be able to appropriate the right kind of vehicle to launch him at our target.”“And the landing?” Touma asked.“You’ve jumped out of a plane before right?”Touma shuddered.[1/2]
>>42592479“I can go with him,” Kaoru volunteered, “I have paradropping qualifications after all.”“Where are we going to find a plane in the first place?” Sparky asked.“There’s a Russian airstrip about forty kilometres west of here, they have plenty to spare,” Irina answered, “If not, we’ll have to strap Kamijou-kun to one of Academy City’s stray KKVs but that’s not very safe.”“Such misfortune.”He was right. It wasn’t like breaking in to a Russia air base was easy, especially since they were on high alert, being so close to an active combat zone. On the other hand, you didn’t fancy Touma’s chances on surviving a trip astride a Kinetic Kill Vehicle.>”Stealing a plane sounds easy enough.”>”I can make the KKV safer for him.”>”This plan is stupid, we’re going home.”>Other (write-in)

“Stealing a plane sounds easy enough.”Touma and Sparky turned to look at you.“Never stole a plane before though,” you admitted. The former looked resigned while the latter looked incredulous. You looked to Asuka uncle.“Tell me more about the base,” you continued, “What kind of planes are we talking about here?”“With the fighter losses they’ve taken, the Russians have started to roll in more artillery pieces and anti-air guns. Cargo comes in and leaves almost like clockwork,” he provided, “Ideally we should steal something fast, agile, and with a good operational ceiling. Both to avoid anti-air and the Angel itself. Sadly the new Antonovs are only two of the three. The other option is to steal a Hind or a Hip but there are tradeoffs.”You turned to Sagara,“You know how to fly one of those?”“Does your mother speak Russian?” he smiled.“Then the plan is simple. Two teams, one to distract the Russians, the other will sneak in, steal a transport and have Touma dance with the Angel. Any questions?”Sparky’s hand shot up.“This is crazy!” she exclaimed, “We’re going to end up escalating hostilities at this rate.”“We’re already at war with the Russians,” Kyousuke argued, “It’s not like we’re doing worse than what the City normally does.”“I believe he wishes to finally succeed at grand theft auto,” Asuka added.“That’s exactly it,” Sparky continued, “You don’t need to steal something from them. Even if we need to fly that idiot in, can’t we just use your resources back home to do something like this instead?”“He’d have to wait for the whole of the City’s Board of Directors and bureaucracy to act, if they’ll ever let him,” Kyousuke pointed out.“Besides, where is the fun in all that?” Asuka finished.“You’re all insane,” Sparky declared. No one argued the point.Episode End.https://twitter.com/BoredofDirectorAngels High.
