I am Sief Atanor, of House Atanor, Golem Knight and Giantslayer. With Mama Stump and her inbred clan of giants now dead and rotting, I had hoped I would feel some sense of closure, but all I really got was another name and a lot more questions. Who is Henrick, and why did this Gloaming Cult hate my mother enough to send titans after her? For now, I suppose I'll take some satisfaction in the knowledge that Quala and I have saved a lot of Iquani lives today. Without Mama Stump and her spawn, the lands surrounding the fort will be a lot safer, even if the danger of the old battlefield still remains.Quala hums to herself as Kajilapa paces between ruined structures, the massive behemoth stopping occasionally to sniff the air. It's all gotten very quiet since the battle ended. I know that Mama Stump's horde of boggart lackeys are still skulking around down there, but after seeing the death of their mistress, I doubt any would risk attracting our attention.I suppose all that's left is the journey back, with whatever spoils or trophies I care to take. Raziel is not designed to be a beast of burden, so my choices are limited, and while Kajilapa could no doubt carry more, Quala and her behemoth will not be accompanying me all the way back to my family's lands.>Take a trophy from Mama Stump>Take the Wyvern's stinger>Neither, head back

>Take the Wyvern's stinger
>>42555977>>Take the Wyvern's stingerWhat trophy could we take from Mama anyway? Her fake leg maybe? How hard would taking that be, and what is it like?Good to see Sief again, and you as well, Lordy
>>42556061Her fake leg looks to have been repurposed from the metal grip of some golem weapon. It's a bulky, rusty length of steel with a patchy coating of dried blood.
>>42555977>Take a trophy from Mama StumpIt'd be nice to have something from the bitch that got our mother murdered.
>>42556091So, seems like it'd be useless outside of a trophy.I dunno, can we look through the rest of the Mesa first? I definitely want to take the stinger, but there could be some very useful things in here that I wouldn't trade for Mama's peg. Also is the Basilisk too ruined to take its eyes or something?
>>42555977>Take a trophy from Mama Stump
>>42555977>>Take a trophy from Mama Stump
>>42556138You could go back for the basilisk's eyes, but they aren't up here with you, they're back by the entrance to the tunnels. As for searching around the rest of the Mesa, I'll be honest, you won't find anything else better than what you've got.
>>42555977Can't take both? One as a trophy for us, the other for Quala?
>>42556096>>42556142>>42556157Why are you at least not voting for the stinger as well? You do realize the Stinger is actually valuable, right?>>42556196But we haven't even been to the archives, and >>40801534 >>40801550 look at all this stuff we left behind.Guess I'll just have to be satisfied with those bracers on the battlefield. To be completely fair I'm thinking of trying to get an agreement with the Iquani down that we get all the golem parts in the battlefield and mesa for free since we helped take down Mama Stump, and then sending people over to transport them, I think we left behind some stuff, and it's not like we look thoroughly through the battlefield.Should call a priest or something, to get rid of the curse in this place(and the warpick in the battlefield).
>>42556253Could do, which one do you want?
>>42555977>>Take the Wyvern's stingerI'd be up for taking a trophy from Mama if possible as well.
>>42556196>You could go back for the basilisk's eyesI'll try to remember to vote for this when the time comes.>>42556285How valuable are wyvern stingers compared to basilisk eyes?I'd rather take both tbh.
>>42556297Both are valuable, though Basilisk Eyes perhaps slightly more so.
>>42556285What would the impact be if Quala went back with a trophy from Mama Stump?
>>42556310It would impress a lot of people. Though obviously given that she's a princess, no-one's really going to call her out on having killed Mama Stump even without a trophy.
>>42555977>>Take the Wyvern's stingerQuala can take a trophy if she wants, we were here for answers and revenge. Not glory.
>>42556332Would it be a possible thing to gift Quala and the Iquani people a trophy from Mama Stump to help with the divide between us and them?
>>42555977OH SHIT NIGGA WE BACK?
>>42556359It might be hard to offer it to her as a gift considering that she's right here with you and helped you. Of course the fact that the two of you brought down Mama Stump in and of itself will do some good towards healing the rift between your peoples, or at the very least improving their view on Sief.
So three for Wyvern Stinger, three for a trophy from Mama Stump, and some questions about letting Quala have the trophy. Is that what you want to do? Take the stinger and let Quala have the trophy of Mama Stump.>Yes>No, roll randomly for what we take
>>42556395I meant more as a symbol of our two peoples coming together rather than an olive branch, as we hacked the branch down together but I guess thats a moot point.I reckon she should take a trophy from Mama Stump and we take the Stinger, we got all we needed from the Bitch, we don't need more from her.
>>42556395Alright, considering all that, I say take the Basilisk eyes and either Mama's peg leg or the Wyvern's stinger, doesn't really matter to me.>>42556421>>YesI guess? I'd rather take both, there are a lot of giants around for Quala to take a trophy from, but whatever I guess.
>>42556438It's also a matter of carrying capacity, Raziel is already carrying the handcannon and a couple of components.
>>42556455I understand, but surely best girl would help out, right? I really want to take those bracers from the battlefield too, and anything else we might fin that's light enough to carry. Also is the agreements regarding golem parts in >>42556273 something Sief would think is possible? Who would he have to talk to about it? Is just talking to Quala enough?Could even send some people over later on if we have some good people to help clean up the battlefield together, bury the old hatchet and all that. The Iquani get rid of a dangerous battlefield, and we get free loot, and everyone becomes better friends. I'd also love to take these artillery things that we can back to our mansion at some point because damn nigga that shit is good.
>>42556512Could we equip those bracers instead of having to carry them back?
>>42556512>Also is the agreements regarding golem parts in >>42556273 something Sief would think is possible? Who would he have to talk to about it? Is just talking to Quala enough? It's possible, yes, it'll come up in another post soon.
>>42556512>Could even send some people over later on if we have some good people to help clean up the battlefield together, bury the old hatchet and all that. The Iquani get rid of a dangerous battlefield, and we get free loot, and everyone becomes better friends.I'd be all for that, also its another excuse to see best girl and fucking finally kiss her because Lordy derped in the last thread
>>42556532The bracers would need to be fitted to Raziel, they're not something a golem can just slip on.
>>42556564ah so they are more armored plates shaped and made for it rather than armor pieces 'worn'
>>42556595Yup, they're meant to be attached over the golem's shell.
>>42556641We have something like a +Energy rune to help us carry more stuff, right?
>>42556785You have Energy Tracing, though that's more to allow Raziel to operate for long periods of time without recharging by drawing extra energy from the sun.
I spend some time searching around, finding a sturdy sack to store the stinger in. The wyvern is still in a broken mess where I left it, and I set to work slicing off the stinger, placing it carefully inside the container. Hopefully Virgil can do something with this, although the look on his face after I brought the wood from the Spriggan's tree back does not fill me with confidence. If nothing else, I can sell it.“Quala, you want anything?” I call over, the princess and her behemoth pausing their wandering around the fort to glance over.“Hmm, I was wondering about that myself. It would be good to have something to show off to the clans.”“How about Mama Stump's pegleg? That's sure to have an impact.”“Sounds good. Better than carrying her head through the expanse for all that time, she stunk enough when she was alive,” the princess grins.Drawing Raziel's sword once more, I slice free the giant matriarch's false leg. The top of the leg is a grizzly sight, looks like Mama Stump was dealing with regular infections, unsurprising given that she must've just jammed a rusty length of metal into her legstump. Frowning, I carry it over to a pool of water, formed from the recent downpour, sloshing it around in there until the worst of the rot has been washed away. After binding it up in another sack, I help the princess lash it to the side of Kajilapa, the behemoth seemingly unconcerned with the thick metal bar now bound to her.“I think that's everything. Let's get going, I want to show this off,” Quala grins. You glance around, gathering up a couple more of the heavy duty sacks, never know if you might need them after all.>Gather up the Basilisk Eyes on the way out>Go back for the Bracers>Go back for the Warpick the spooky, spooky warpick>You've got what you needAlso>Discuss with Quala about gathering up more items from the Fort>Don't discuss it yet

>>42556905You have>Green Rectangular Component>Crystal Prism ComponentAs for the others, my bad, you can also vote for those, though any more than two items total from that or the options I posted is going to be a hassle to carry around.
>>42556934I assume the basilisk eyes are an exception, right? Since that's just tying a sack to our shoulder or something, I don't imagine basilisk eyes weigh a lot.
>>42556981Alright, then I'll keep change my vote of >>42556905 to be>Basilisk eyes>Bracers>Valuable-looking partWe're not hurting that much for weapons right now, and we can sell the part if we can't use it, and money is always good especially now in the beginning.Plus we could always just potentially come back for more.I'd also be willing to try to put up a warning of DO NOT OPEN on the door to the spooky ghost.
>>42556836>Gather up the Basilisk Eyes on the way out>Go back for the Bracers>Discuss with Quala about gathering up more items from the Fort
>>42556981Basilisk eyes are just like normal eyes, right? They're not gemstones or anything like that? It's just that we may have to find a way to preserve them or there won't be any point in taking them because they'll end up as a pile of rotten sludge after a few days in the desert heat.
>>42557014Forgot to mention that I am not voting to take something spooky with us.>>42556981However, could we carry something else to the village if Kajilapa helped us?How much of a hassle would it be to take it back to the mansion? If it's doable, then my choice would be whichever is more valuable of the War Scythe and Steel Pole.Actually, couldn't we use the Steel Pole as a way to carry more stuff? Put it on our shoulder and put bags on the ends of it?

We make our way back through the winding tunnels of the fort, with a quick stop to gather up some of the items I passed before, and a moment to doublecheck that the sealed chamber is still securely sealed. I gather up the part, and the bracers, and double-bag the basilisk eyes after carefully removing them while Quala is a long way away.Stepping back out into the open air at long last from the stifling confines of the fort's tunnels, I take a deep breath, which is more symbolic than anything I suppose, since I'm still breathing the filtered air of Raziel's cockpit.“Quala. There was something I wanted to discuss with you.”The princess freezes in her saddle, giving me a slight smile. “I... I see, well, it's kind of sweet in a way, and you are an attractive man, but-”“About salvaging more things from the fort.” I continue, speaking straight over the growing awkwardness for both of our sakes.“Oh, oh right, yes, let's discuss that,” Quala coughs.“There's a lot of things out there that could be valuable to me, and leaving them out there could cause a lot of trouble in the long run. Could we make an arrangement to have more of the equipment gathered up and brought to my lands?”Quala frowns, tapping her chin. “I see what you're saying, but even with the giants gone, salvaging the fort is going to be dangerous work. Whole lot of boggarts and other things still skulking around, plus we'd need to get a holy man in to carry out the proper rituals to lay the dead to rest. I doubt I could arrange something like that for you, not without a lot of help on your end, or some sort of trade for the services.”Seems it won't be that easy to strip the fort after all. I'd really rather not spend the next few years personally overseeing salvage trips either.>(Write-in)>Nevermind then
>>42557429>>Nevermind thenFair enough was just a thought. Still this place should get cleansed eventually, just so nothing else nasty infests here.

>>42557429Regarding >>42557496COULD we get a holy man ourselves? I mean, it would be to put a lot of Imperial dead to rest, AND there's that golem in the chamber with the spooky vengeful ghost, so it might be more fitting for an imperial holy man to put that guy to rest. But do we have the means to make this happen? Is there a holy man nearby our mansion or in Venser?
>>42557601You do have a few in your lands, though they are more small village priest tier individuals, so you aren't sure they'd really be up something like this. You'd probably need to make contact with one of the larger religious institutions and get a proper exorcist.
>>42557601How about we go back and sort things out a bit, gather resources and build our reputation. Then in a few years we organize an expedition. Tell Quala we'll keep in touch.

I may know more once I'm back at home, shall I write to you about it and we can discuss this over paper? This, but also see if we can arrange for an Iquani holy man to help lay the Iquani dead to rest, both sides lost massive numbers of forces here, we should do what we can to help both sides find peace.
>>42557734>in a few yearsFuck that, we're not wasting years before coming back, we've got months at max to make a move on her and we ARE doing that.
>>42557734>few yearsDude, no.There isn't that much useful stuff here, but what is here we need it sooner rather than later.I'll give it a couple months at most, we'd need to invite foreigners anyway to start settling the forested land and start up mines, we could hire some adventurers and peasant and shit to come over and basically just do manual labor, they'd be protected by the Iquani I presume, and would just have to dig stuff up out of the trashpiles and carry it back, and be wary of ghosts and spookiness.I imagine it'd take like 2 months top to clear out the whole battlefield, assuming an efficient holy man or two.
>>42557734>Then in a few years we organize an expedition.Dude it took us like a week to come out here, and another week to do what we came here for, we're not going to be wasting fucking years before coming back, no fucking chance, this is something we need to work on now.
>>42557880Nah, we spent a single night in the Iquani settlement, a single night during travel. We handled our business in 3 days since arriving to the Iquani village.
>>42557918>a single night during travel.it took us 2 days to get from the Iquani camps to here, and 1 day scouting, it took us 2 days to get to the Iquani settlement once reaching the border, and it took us about a week getting to the border
“It may take a little time, but maybe I could arrange for a holy man, and co-operate on this. I'll look into it when I'm back home.”“Sounds good to me, no sense trying to figure all this out right now,” Quala nods, smiling up at Raziel.“I'll write to you when I know more...” I start, pausing to think. Writing to a nomad might be a little difficult, although on the other hand Quala is a princess, which means she's high profile enough that most Iquani will know where to find her.“If I give letters to traders, will it get to you?”“I'll make sure it does, not that there's many traders crossing the forest.”“That might be something worth discussing too.”“Look at all your big ideas,” Quala chuckles, the two of you starting the long walk back through the expanse. We'll soon be back at the camp, and going our separate ways. The first few hours pass in relative silence, back through the scrap and bones of the old battlefield surrounding the mesa. Still though our surroundings may be, neither Quala nor I are willing to risk letting our guard down. There's an palpable sense of relief as the last looming vestiges of the war are put behind us, replaced with the wide open scrub of the expanse. Our night camped out near the battlefield before has made it all too clear that we're far from out of danger yet.I glance up at the sky, the clouds have turned from the heavy, thick darkness of the storm to an overcast gloom. It looks like we have another couple of hours before the sun starts to set, not enough time to make it out beyond the boundaries of the ghosts of this place. I can tell Quala is feeling no more at ease with that realization, her brow knotting, resting a comforting hand on Kajilapa's back at the behemoth lets out a low moan.“So how's it feel to be a giantslayer?” I ask, hoping for some easing of the tension.“I was already a giantslayer, though I've never killed one worthy of stories before. Feels great, can't wait to show this off to the clan. I might even get an audience with my father,” Quala smiles, eyes drifting down to the pegleg lashed to Kajilapa's side.It seems that the Great Khan has something of a distant relationship with the majority of his children. I suppose that's to be expected when a man has that many children. Perhaps it's normal for her, though from the way her smile turns wistful, the princess gazing off into the expanse, perhaps not.(cont)
>>42558962“I suppose there's only one thing for it at a time like this, then, a celebration,” I continue, trying to snap her out of the maudlin mood she seemed intent on putting herself into. That does the trick, Quala claps her hands together, grinning broadly.“You're right, a celebration for our glorious victory. You'll stay, of course, so we can tell the clan stories of our greatness,” Quala laughs. Looks like I've been roped into a party whether I want it or not. Quala beams up at me, sweeping aside a lock of hair as the wind whips it up around her face. I suppose I don't mind staying a little longer...The grey sky starts to turn darker as day gives way to twilight, and Quala's smile fades as she glances around. It looks like a good enough place to set up camp, you suppose, as good as any place can be around here.>Push on after dark>Camp here, in separate tents>Camp here, suggest sharing to guard against spookiness

Even being together can't prevent all spookiness.
“So, what do you think are the odds that with Mama Stump gone, the ghosts are gone too?”Letting the cockpit open, I look down at the princess, raising an eyebrow in response.“Yeah, didn't think so. We've still got plenty of salt at least, though who knows what tricks they'll try to pull on us this time,” Quala sighs.I set Raziel down on one knee, hopping down out of the cockpit and climbing to the ground. The sandy ground is still slightly damp underfoot from the earlier storm, a slight chill picking up in the air as the sun sets.“Well, we'll be close by each other if things get strange,” I shrug, starting to set up my tent.“Yeah, for all the good that did us last time. I wish there was something else we could do,” Quala frowns.“Unless you want to share a tent, I don't see what we can do about it.”“Sleeping in the same tent? You sure you don't want to ask my father's permission first,” Quala replies, giving me a smirk.“Very witty, princess.”“I thought so... It would save me having to put up my own tent,” Quala shrugs, standing watch as I set up my tent, the sun little more than a sliver on the horizon when I'm done.“Done?”“All done,” I nod, brushing some sweat from my brow, already turning cold with the night air.I climb inside the tent, it's going to be cramped with the two of us, no doubt about it, but it beats getting picked off by ghosts by a long shot. I take a deep breath, which does little to deal with the buzz of nerves in the pit of my stomach. I'm not sure how to feel about how nonplussed the princess seemed about sharing a tent, I suppose I must have been written off as harmless. I know that shouldn't bother me, but blessed spirits does it ever bother me. I shift around the bedding a little, trying to get everything set up, lost in my own vague thoughts. (cont)
>>42559654It's quite a few minutes later that I realize Quala still hasn't joined me, despite the darkness outside. Cursing my inattentiveness, I poke my head back outside of the tent, only to find the princess still standing there, arms wrapped around her middle.“What?”“I was waiting for you to finish,” Quala frowns, rubbing a hand against her arm.“I've been finished for quite a while. If the ghosts get you while you're standing outside, that rather defeats the object,” I sigh.“Right, yeah,” the princess coughs, glancing aside. It's hard to see what sort of expression she's wearing in the twilight gloom, but there's a slight touch of color in her cheeks as she brushes by me, crawling inside of the tent. It's as cramped as I'd expected, and there's more than a little awkwardness and discomfort as the two of us wriggle into the bedding, skin brushing against skin, hot breath fogging the inside of the tent as the pair of us struggle to find positions to lie in comfortably, and more than one collision between pointed bone and sensitive regions. By the time it's all said and done, the two of us lie side by side. Body heat has chased away the night's chill, but I seriously doubt I'll be getting to sleep any time soon, for various reasons.“Sorry,” Quala mumbles after a long, heavy silence.“It's fine, it was my idea.”“Yeah, but I elbowed you in the-”“Stomach, Quala, you elbowed me in the stomach.”“Right... sorry.”Silence descends once more, enough for me to be aware of the vague whispered susserations on the edge of my hearing beyond the tent. Looks like the dead are once again not resting easy. Quala's arm presses in closer against mine, as I reach down to my side to check for the bag of salt, still where I left it.>Just try to get some sleep>Strike up a conversation to take her mind off it (write-in)

“Quala?”“Hmm?”“What was it like, growing up as royalty?”There's a long pause, Quala's body shifting alongside mine as she shifts her position.“I don't really know what to say. It was... normal? I don't go out doing important duties for my father, I haven't seen much of my father honestly, he has many children after all, he can only make time for the ones who have distinguished themselves, like my brother.”“Prince Juti?”“Mmh, I get the feeling I get away with a lot because of Juti. Most of my sisters my age are married by now, helping to tie together my father's links with other clans. I know the only reason he hasn't forced the issue is because my brother talked him out of it.”Quala sighs, and I feel a hand tentatively wrapping around my wrist. “Aside from that, life is normal, like I said. I see my mother sometimes, but mostly I travel with her clan, or with one of the other ones I get along with. I hunt, I live, nothing thrilling.”“Something tells me that the things you consider normal would be pretty exciting to the average citizen of the Empire.”Quala gives a soft laugh, her hand slipping down to grip mine. “You know, there was an old woman in one of the clans I stayed with in my youth. She once told me that Imperials bleed lead, that you worship angry spirits of stone and fire, sacrificing your enemies on altars to your Khan-Emperor. That doesn't sound like a boring place to me.”“I think she may have been taking some creative lisence there, though I live out on the frontier, so what do I know. My family never had any big sacrificial altars to the Emperor at least.”“That's a shame, what's it like then, aside from the lack of sacrificing?”(cont)
>>42561089“My family's lands are mostly forest, we have a couple of small towns, but nothing compared to the lands closer to the capital. With all the talk I heard growing up of the big cities and architectural wonders of the Empire, it can feel a little rustic, but the forest,” I smile, thinking back to Paxton's wilderness survival lessons. Harsh, but fun all the same.“I've seen the forests along the border, but I've never been, it always looked so strange compared to the expanse, kind of intimidating.”“The forests closer to my home are a lot less infested with the low races. If you ever come visit, I'll show them to you.”Quala shifts again, and I feel a slight pang of regret as her hand leaves mine, until I feel that same hand come to rest on my chest, Quala shifting up onto her side next to me.“Is that a promise?”“It's a promise.”“You sure you don't want to ask my father first?”“You're not going to let that go, are you?”Quala chuckles softly, her chin resting against my shoulder. The whispering outside seeming far more distant than it did on my first lonely night at the edge of the battlefield. Quala nestled up against my side, the warmth of her breath and the feel of her heatbeat seem far more important than any haunting presence.I yawn, blinking myself awake. Light beams through the fabric of the tent, and I bring a forearm up to block out the painful rays. I suppose I must've slept through the night without any spectral happenings, that's some unexpected good fortune.I glance down, raising an eyebrow as I catch sight of the figure sprawled across my chest, mumbling to herself unintelligably in her sleep, her fingertips digging lightly into my shoulder as she clings to me.Well, what now?>Wake Quala up>Extricate yourself from this delicate political situation before she wakes up
>>42561109>Wake Quala up
>>42561109>>Wake Quala up
>>42561109>>Extricate yourself from this delicate political situation before she wakes upOr at least attempt to.We should go and wash up if we can, get ready for travel, and let the princes sleep in a little bit.
>>42561109>Consider waking her up>Enjoy the moment
>>42561109>Extricate yourself from this delicate political situation before she wakes up
I lie for a while, enjoying the moment, Quala squeezing up tighter against me as she mumbles, caught up in some dream. Thankfully there doesn't seem to be any lingering awkwardness between me and the princess, though that voice in the back of my head is quick to remind me of the terrible reprecussions should any of this be found out. Still, out here in the expanse, away from prying eyes, I suppose this much won't hurt.I place a hand on Quala's shoulder, giving her a gentle shake, the princess' slanted eyes fluttering open from behind the curtain of dark hair.“Looks like the ghosts didn't get us,” she yawns, giving me a grin as her arms slip down to my sides, Quala letting out a satisfied groan as she stretches, catlike, above me. It makes for quite an... interesting view.“Maybe they exhausted all of their material last time,” I shrug, as Quala flops back down, cheek first onto my chest.“Maybe so,” she hums, lingering for a few more moments before picking herself up, hopping to her feet and stretching once again, her lithe figure strained and taut.Quala slips out of the tent, speaking to Kajilapa, the behemoth giving a happy moan, its thunderous footfalls shaking the ground as it lumbers over to its mistress. Spending a few moments to collect myself, I clamber out of the tent after the princess, squinting up at the bright sunlight. Yesterday's storm has gone as quickly as it arrived, leaving trackless blue skies in its wake.I can only hope it's a sign of good things to come.>End of Thread
Sorry about the short thread today, still kind of getting back into the swing of things. I hope everyone enjoyed our return to GKQ, even if not a great deal happened this thread, and I can stick around for some Q&A if people have questions.
>>42561880Thanks for running boss, just happy GKQ got some of your lovin.
>>42561880Are you going to be picking GKQ up again now or was this just a one-off thing until the promised day comes?Shitscripting soon
>>42561880Damn missed the thread. Hmmm I don't actually have any questions which is strange.
>>42561905Glad you liked it, anon.>>42561906I'd like to run GKQ at least semi-regularly when I can. So hopefully the gap before the next thread won't be anywhere near as long.
>>42561880Thanks for the thread Lordy, a great deal doesn't need to happen to make it a great thread.

>>42561949On a scale from 1- God Damn Nigga Rate Quala's ass
>>4256200873/God Damn Nigga
>>42562008Maybe around a 7 or 8. It's a tight, toned and athletic ass, but it's not big enough to earn a 9 or 10.
>>42562008She's young and fairly athletic, so I imagine it'd rate at least ninety on the DAYUM scale
>>42562046>but it's not big enough to earn a 9 or 10.Thats the whole point, that lean and taught ass makes it soooo much better than sacks of fat
>>42562076Nah man, what you need is the perfect storm where all the girl's body fat is stored in her ass COMBINED with a muscled ass
>>42562076Well then, you can consider it a 9 or 10. Personally I prefer a little bit of meat over a healthy, athletic ass, but that's just my preference.
I like golem knight quest the most of the three.
>>42562100I like gkq the most out of your three. Is there any chance of it becoming more than just semi regular?
