"Fed Owl" isn't an item. That's... that's just Owl The Ghoul whom we've stuffed full of Chow.

He's a level 4 Ghoul Owl now. He jumped out of an airship and tackled a sniper and soaked up not 1 not 2 not 3 but 5 - count 'em - 5 bullets. The fact that every militia in wave 3 shot at him instead of us is pretty much 75 % of the reason most of us is alive. Hail the Owl Ghoul!

Also Wendigo, Latvian, Quazar, Armistan and Squad C aren't technically items either.

Fair enough for the skills thing, easily put at the end. The lines were there for when you have a bag full of a shit ton of stuff. Many of which need proper listing. An empty bag and minimal gear would be a bit different. A bit like you.

Having the stats on 1 line but all written the same (base stats + gear bonuses) is a good idea.

I agree,it would look cleaner. Except in cases like armor, the bonus is lost if you are attacked from the rear. So it may serve a purpose to list it fully.
>>
I have a Raider's Axe to trade or sell. I don't plan to use it. Seeing as I can steal from someone else maybe a knight rogue or weisskrieger could make better use of it then me right now.

>>42545691

True, but more often than not Monday only needs the total. When he doesn't referencing your equipment line to find modifiers isn't hard. Also the class base DEF is a known quantity.
>>
>>42545840
A valid point
>>
>>42545840
>>42545910
Ehn, I see no reason not to put it in base and various modifiers. It all fits on one line when it's just numbers rather than letters.
>>
>>42545955

It's about simplification. When Monday is at negative six hours of sleep do you want him looking down at your DEF stat and seeing one number or three?
>>
>>42546137
>one number or three?
Three is excessive, one number or two (add all the bonuses together)
>>
>>42546137
he'd only see one number, right at the front, right after the stat designation.
>>

If you say so.

In any case I think we're on to something. I'd say a bit of polish and we would have something streamlined and easy to understand, at least between us and Monday.

Also shameless bump as one of the few (maybe only 2?) master mages.
>>
I don't know if we should include item stats or not. They add to the clutter quite extensively. I suppose it depends on whether Monday needs them included in the stat sheet or not.

Hmmmmmmm. How about not actually putting them within the stat sheet, but separately. Something like thus?

My reasoning for including the stats is as follows:
1) It's important to make sure there's not been some math error somewhere, so that Monday doesn't have to cross reference his sheets too much.
2) Putting the items listed helps him keep track of who is overloaded on inventory or not, and those things fluctuate both ways between looting and consumables. This is also why I give each slot of inventory it's own line, even if it's empty, because there's 0 room for confusion or obfuscation.
3) bank and such could probably be left out honestly speaking, but I think a lot of people would lose track of their bank if it wasn't part of their standard character sheet?

Otherwise I think your set up might work?
>>
>>42547171
I keep my stat sheet in a text document, and I do include things like item stats and bank stuff there. I just only include the main stat sheet when fighting however because none of that is relevant.

>>42546921
Skills at bottom.
>>
>>42547123
Do we divide up interest equally amongst each person in the group bank? (less interest over all for people with larger input into the bank, but lower investors get a larger amount than they normally would), or is it in proportion to their donations to the group bank? (in which case I think that it'd be the same as storing it equally?)
>>
>>42547212
oh another reason for including stats in our character sheets. They help other players to understand how we're getting our results, especially once we start equipping stuff not normally used by our class.
>>
H-hey p-people look I just want to say something. And don't be all angry with me because it just happened yesterday, but with Trigger g-gone...I might have some ideas for the Eye of Eld or the Hand from the board of education...Me being undead and all...It's not simply surgery...but if we find a Scholomance outpost...I have some ideas.

And my chains are back on, I'm safe now. But I could use one key. Should the need arise...And lastly I promise to have a ration of Jerky on my at all times.
>>
>>42547287
Well we want to see what our possible options are with all of them. Turning them into skills or words or spells might be the best things we can do, but maybe not! Maybe the best thing is surgically grafting them to our ghoulish party members for fun and profit!
>>
>>42547225
Interest was originally going to be split up with the entire party, as part and parcel of the floor bounty. It was one way to support the group passively by giving up your own interest.

Since the Alpaca fiasco and how angry at us he got for screwing up our accounts it might be wiser to keep it instead as a dead guy reparation fund, to buy them vital items such as gear and consumables. I know Beckie needs bombs for example.
>>
>>42547423
That's actually a fantastic idea. The interest can go towards helping those who have died for the group get back up on their feet if their own accounts aren't up to it.
>>
>>42547423
I should be fine. I do have 535z, enough for bombs and maybe some stalkers? Nothing else though. I kinda threw away my weapons so I could pick up Squad C and guns, then gave the weapon I did pick up away since I couldn't use it and it was better in the hands of Burkhard. Or Trigger. I miss Trigger.

Also [U] Owl? If you are around I have a key for you. No one should be locked away if they don't choose to be.

>>
>>42547670
Possibly...But the Scholomance can mix stuff up...And these restraints...if they are to be our burden, we might as well try something with it.

>>42547692
Thanks Beckie, you're kinda like that old Beckie too, do you want my daggers? I won't be using them and I have 5 of them.
>>
>>42547670
Really only the people ghouled on the second floor should be impossible to cure, they're "White Ghouls". Other forms of ghoulishness is probably curable, but I don't think we have anybody who isn't a white ghoul or classed into ghoul sadly.

>>42547287
oh also. just keep the restraints off. Replace them with another kind of armor. You'll honestly do better. Owl could have ripped and torn his way through bunches of those guys if he'd been unrestrained.
>>
>>42547729
He'd have gone berserk and we might have had to put him down. I prefer to have them and remove them if the need arises. I got REALLY hungry earlier, then I ate those tasty bones and that Volgon fellow and now I feel good.
>>
>>42547716
That sounds great. I can toss them at things that need to be dead, but don't need a bomb. Thanks.

>>42547776
There was a lot of Volgon around him. He would have just ate them instead.
>>
>>42547798
But then he would still be gone off the tracks. I'l ask Graves if there's anything he can say or tell us about that.

He is the one who infected us willing ones...And I did free him from that crate in the first place.
>>
>>42547776
Owl went berserk, and he went berserk in the middle of their formation. He just couldn't act while doing so.

During that time, he could have taken out enough of them in all likelihood to heal himself because he has bloodlust, and regenerate, and he can grab devour as well.

How often are our ghouls going to be outside of the support of people who can stuff jerky in their mouths or shove them into an enemy corpse?

With the restraints, a Ghoul has some nice defense, and is basically a shabby rogue with one less action and some neat abilities.

Without the restraints, a ghoul is a veritable killing machine that we can easily deal with about 90% of the time, and the other 10% they'll be in the middle of an enemy formation chowing down on enemy corpses before we get close enough to be in danger.
>>
>>42547944
I agree, depending on how berserk really works.

I'm getting hungry again, let me see if we have some blood stain I can lick off on the ship's hull or something.
>>
>>42548322
Heck, we just stick you guys with Jackie as his own personal kill Team and if one of you drops he smacks you with a dark collider, Ignores your armor, does a massive amount of damage, can bring you back to full health from -2! From -4 he can bring you back to 1HP.

Owl can reliably be let off the leash as long as he's always front and center and we point him at the biggest cluster of enemies.

The rest of you guys could stick by Jackie and be the tip of the spear in a lot of cases, keeping him alive, maybe a guide on hand to be his personal healer while he acts as fire support and healing for you guys. Hell, you're the only guys who he can REALLY cut loose around. As long as you guys stick near him, he can pummel the area with Darc rings and just be certain of HEALING you guys while harming enemies most of the time. The only monsters you guys can't reliably devour are other undead and slimes. And I'm not sure about the slimes.

I was wondering... Could we get like a mark or something for those who are Ghouls but not the ghoul class?

It would seriously help me out and other guides most likely so we dont accidentaly friendly-fire with our heals.

It will be alot better, now that I am gonna get the Geometry ability which makes this able to... Well heal a larger area.

Is this how to register? Also when do these games usually happen?
>>
>>42548927
You can only rank up to the classes around you. As a knight that would be Slayer or Weisskrieger.
>>
>>42548927
They start when they start. Monday usally announces it on his twitter. Right now we are inbetween actual Floors, we are heading to a town floor to upgrade, restock, earn cash and buy equipment.
>>
>>42548874
Ghoul should go in your 'status' line.
>>
>>42548927
Plus Q is one of the advanced classes so you cant start on them. Please pick obe of the middle 6 classes which are the starter ones.
>>
>>42548927
Kai, starting players have to start with the inner 6 classes. If you want to become an Alquemist, start as a Mage or a Militia is my advice. Mage will -probably- (but not necessarily) serve you better with engrave.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pBtAtH90iwCCRSlBASU8PKdILrhJh4x87yHYaLAqi8A/edit#

Here's a guide we've been writing up. Need to finish off the Guide Guide of course...
>>
>>42548992
>>42549040
Ah my mistake, so if I want to eventually reach alchemist I start with militia then?
>>
>>42548927
If you are new you may only pick among the center 6 classes. The rest are classes that you can upgrade to after getting to level 2 in a base class. Advanced classes however do often have a base class requirement, for example only Guides can become Navigators. If you wish to become an Alquemist I believe it is Militia or Mage?
>>
>>42549100
Militia or Mage.
>>
>>42549100
Or Mage.

Each class can advance to 3 other classes.

Mage and Hunter don't have their "Pure" advanced classes revealed.

Alquemist is the fusion between Mage and Militia.

Navigator and WeissKrieger are examples of "Pure" advanced classes.

Scholar, Alquemist, Slayer, and Ghoul are examples of "Hybrid" Advanced Classes.
>>
>>42548566
>>42548608
>>42548620
Awesome. I don't expect this character to last long, but please take care of me.
>>
>>42549100
Militia or mage. After you have leveled up 3 times(you leveled up each survived Floor, not counting town floors ofc) then you can advance.
>>
>>42549051
>>42549165
>>42549198
Alright thanks for the info, hopefully I'll be on when the game starts up again
>>
>>42549198

You can advance after the first survived floor, you don't need to unlock all your base class skills to advance to advanced classes, only if you want the adept-tier gear/skills for your basic class.
>>
>>42549194
We are happy to have you along! Don't worry it's my and other guides/navigators job to keep you alive!
>>
>>42549244
Oh right that is true! You can advance as soon as you level up. Most of us have waited for the 3rd level mark to get abilities.
>>
>>42549194
We try to keep our knights alive. Not many people take them.

Also if you want to really bathe in our enemy's blood, you're going to want to look into SLAYER when you've gotten some more skills. We had an example of someone spin-slashing with the slayer's pike. 6 damage in a 5x5 block area.
>>
>>42549198
You can advance after reaching level 2. There are benefits to NOT advancing, but you don't have to wait.
>>
Honestly, Knights are well advised to wait until they get rushdown from their adept levels >>42541313

As Acronaut+Rushdown enables a potential of 8 damage just from walking down the stairs while an enemy occupies them.
>>

>>
>>42541111
Monday when you are visiting classes perhaps you should look into Shield Bash? To tell you the truth it was my favorite of the Knight's skills and I hate that it is now a waste to have taken it if I play to the strengths of my new class.
>>
>>42549581
Well it does help identify the important bits out of all the grey that is your stat block.
>>
>>42549582
seconding this, especially since the common feeling is that WeissKrieger does better without a shield (I disagree honestly but that's just me).
>>
>>42549582
Maybe you could find a way to get a buckler or something to use with the spear. Or a 1 handed spear, tiny bit weaker, but matches with a shield.
>>
>>42549272
You mean the jump attack? So I assume all the moves from the old class get tacked on. How does shield bash work without a shield though?
Honestly, picturing jumping into opponents and raining hell is glorious.
>>42549394
Wait, so Jump into an enemy square, add Rushdown damage to guy underneath you, AND a spin attack to break his friends a bit? Someone tell me if I can up my action count thing so I can add a twist in there. Like a special food or rune or something.
>>42549272
Ah, now I'm itchin for a fight
>>
>>42549649
It doesn't, no shield no shield bash.
You trade stunning people for the chance to instead instagib them that death is your stun
>>
>>42549560
It's less a question of favorite template as a unified one. I also prefer mine, but I can make concessions it if eases the headache.
>>
>>42549649
Then again, it all depends on what items we find, and whatnot. Right now Slayers have 0 use for shield, we will see in future shops/map.
>>
>>42549649
Nope, I mean spin-slash.

Jump is glorious, it does 10 damage on a hit to a single person, and if you then twist, it does 11 damage.

But a Slayer's Spin Slash does 6 damage to everyone (including friends) within a 2 range radius of the Slayer, and twist does 7 damage again to them all. Very few things in that large a cluster will survive (again, including friends, so be really careful using it)
>>
Easiest way to fix Shield Bash is probably restrict its use to [Equipment that adds defense].

Also you will almost always kill friendlies with a 2-range spin slash.

Almost.
>>
>>42549649
Rushdown is also really good. But what makes it glorious isn't that you can do it that way.

It's that you can -walk through- enemy squares, pushing into each one as you walk, and deal normal combat damage to them.

So you can walk into a group of people, thrust through two more, and twist to deal massive damage to all of them. (to be fair, this maneuver requires a navigator with Accel backing you up to get that third action)

Twist is probably the most key skill a Slayer has. It just drastically ups their damage capability.
>>
>>42549560
Too much greentext is just as bad as too much black text. If I were you I would limit it down to your skills and spells. Those are the ones Monday needs the most.

As far as templates go I have adopted Gilda's. It seems like a good fusion of everyone's suggestions so far.

I now have Twist. I expect we shall need it for the Whale, otherwise I would have gone with Acronaut for the free climbing passive and the ability to move with Jump.

I do not regret early advancement to Slayer, it is an extremely good class. But I am wistful to have missed the advanced Knight Skill.
>>
>>42549797
You -might- be able to get it by joining a guild that shares Knight and Slayer I think? But adept skills might be locked out of that.
>>
>>42549797
To each his own, I waited because I felt Scholar was not for me, but now I see interesting things in both Scholar and Quemist, and in any case I'm maxed out here.
>>
>>42549831
hopefully you can get summoner (or whatever it'll be called) this time.
>>
Anyone thinking on going Al[q]uemist?

I'm tempted, but I'm not sure how I'd go about playing the class with my Old Hunter.

I mean, sleep HappyBday rounds fired from an Old Hunter loaded with two Firing Solution loads sounds devastating, but the amount of prep time and actions I need to pull that off would either turn me into a trump card towards the end of a floor or some kind of tactical, single-use warhead that turns into a militia after doing some crazy unicorn backflip murderdance.

>Go Alquemist
>Pick Launch Item
>Load up on bombs
>Launch bombs at people
>>
I will go alchemist, but I also want Battle Rhythm. It seems very useful for a class that depends on a gun. So that is at least 2 floors away.
>>
>>42541724
Everyone rogue knows that a proper knife throw is like an intimate stab in the gut with a whisper to their ear about how much you owe'd them..... from 4 tiles away.

As well, when something has been swallowed long enough it gets digested and consequently [devoured] its rather slow going however, and impossible to do if the victim has hearty regeneration. Ever heard of the Matroyska Sisters ?
>>
>>42551114
3 floors I think.

2 to get the base skills.

1 to get battle rhythm
>>
>>42545556
Keep the mods I need to see the breakdown more times than you can imagine.
>>
>>42551296

>>42549582

Clarifying that Rushdown doesn't have trample so it ends as soons as you "collide" an opponnent square. Still its a free move attack for Knights.

Not to be confused with the Rogue Takedown. Which WILL let you do this barring specific conditions like not approaching from the rear of the enemy.

I really wish I hadn't died. I was so close to getting Takedown. Stupid Volgon Rocket. Stupid Volgon targeting for terrain that didn't even matter.

I -think- so, but waiting on Monday to clarify.

You not going to wait to grab radiance at least?

Or do you feel that the scholar abilities are more important right now?
>>
I believe you can choose to store almost anything, except for your base armor. That simply gets replaced.
>>
>>42552555
see: >>42552553

Only armor is lost. Anything else is kept.

My guess is 'gear' only ever refers to 'shit you actually wear' rather than anything else.

Which is a pity, because a ghoul could have their chains taken off and then replaced.

It also leaves Al[q]uemists in a weird place if I'm reading their gear right, because that toolkit of theirs isn't gear, it's offhand.
>>
>>42552560
I mean Radiance is nice but... I really like the Geometry Pulse combo more honestly. I can be a lot further away and depwnding on how we set it up I can even Channel it or cleanse it too.

Could you break down exactly how the Al[Q]uemist skills, items, and equipment function exactly?

The only curious thing I am about is how Radiance works with Geometry...

DoeS the aura heal extend from the geometry field? Or does it get enhanced someway instead?

I'd imagine it'd pulse out from beyond the boundries of the geometry field. Radiance, I think, can be cast onto wards for ranged healing OFF of a ward because Monday mentioned we'd get that ability eventually.

Jesus, people - relax. There's a big huge guide on how to be WeissKrieger in the last thread so there'll obviously also be a big huge guide on how to be an Alquemist at some point.

You're at 184 posts and have achieved nothing because half the posts here are just single sentences ending in a question mark that can easily and routinely be figured out by simply reading the last general thread. I don't want to come across as incredibly cranky, but maybe if you stopped posting random questions, read the other threads, and waited just half a minute we wouldn't need 3-4 threads per update?

Just give it a bit of time. We're getting there. There's lots of stuff to post.

At this rate the patches, the magic rebalance, the action economy rebalance, the classes and everything else will all end up with their own thread - which is 8 threads. There's an IRC channel for tiny questions, so just use the IRC if you have something incredibly granular to ask. Or read the other generals.

They're archived and available with a single google search.

>Ressurrection and Death. [clarifications and fixes]
- Upon Reaching 0hp or below the character is considered in Critical Condition.

Status: Critical [Image shown]
- No longer tracking negative hp, instead.
A character in critical condition has taken damage to take them to 0hp. If damage reaches negative 10 they transition instantly to Death but between -10 and 0 they are considered critical. When a character is left in critical condition for an extended period of time they expire to DEATH on the turn written on their bubble. Additionally, damage taken again while in Critical, or a [Finish off] action will ensure Death.
>This rule is simply the baseline to reaching death. Damage types such as Fire, Crushing, Acid, may instantly destroy the body upon negative damage.

For the purposes of healing, they are treated as someone with 0 hp.
-Healing spells work
- Alquemistry/ First Aid Items/ Other healing types work
x Food doesn't work.

To transition out of Critical: Healing a character above 0hp is enough. However until they reach full health they cannot act.

Stabilized: [0hp-99%hp] The character awaits further healing but is still considered [Downed] To truly recessitate they must Recover to 100%. At this time being fed or consuming your own items is doable. Using Move or attacks is still restricted.
-Stabilized characters can be [extracted] from the map by an ally, However the extractor returns with them. Both characters can redeploy next phase.
Downed [100%Hp]: Character is down but can use actions. Downed characters assume this condition because they were stunned , taken to critical, or were playing dead. To begin acting again, character must use an action to [Get Up.]
Deploying: is an action. Therefore players arrive on the field midgame with one less action.

DEATH: The character is dead. Their body remains to mark equipment they have. A dead body can be [Destroyed] or [Reversed] to a state 1 turn before.
>>
>>42553587
This sounds... quite logical for me atleast, I mean all the rules seems quite reasonable.

One thing though, I would like that another player can use a Get up action next to the downed character like he is helping the other stand up.

Is that a feasible thing to ask for?
>>
The rationale here is quite simple.

The differences between a dead person and someone who just got damaged and healed are almost none existent. Had I brought competent guides with the 5th Warmachine, you would not see a feasible end to that battle As pulse manages to gloss over those two differences. The main focus here isn't lethality as much as it is the action economy of someone in a dire situation.

While these changes seem steep as it is, stats and gear may shift to give hp more leg room to actually be useful and less a hassle for healers.
>>
>>42553629
A 2nd party may assist in Getting another character "Up" but that 1action is coming out of their pocket.
>>
>>42553587
>>42553635
Looks good Monday. I can see why you patched this in and looking it over it seems very reasonable.

>>42553629
Well..... boost is a free action. I see no reason why not but it might go against what Monday intended when doing the patch.
>>
>>42553587

Sounds good. It definitely adds an interesting dynamic.
Does anything change with the status of a Stabilized character Post-Withdrawal, or will someone have to bring them to full health after they've been redeployed?
>>
>>42553655

Sorry, one more questions: I assume that the Stabilized character can medicate themselves from inventory and/or ability while in Post-Withdrawal, prior to Redeployment?
>>
>>42553587
These rules, I like these rules a lot. they simplify the whole process of dealing with -HP and bleedouts.
Even the loss of an action seems a fair price for being healed from a near death state.
>>
>>42553587
>>42553635
I have one thing I want to clarified though! Can you take more damage after the one who put you in critical condition has dealt his? As in during one dungeon phase, does multiple damage sources force you into death state instantly? Or does damage during any other phase be needed instead?
>>
>>42553715
Of course if accumulated damage proceeds to -10 you die, I am referring to the other clause you had.

"Additionally, damage taken again while in Critical, or a [Finish off] action will ensure Death."
>>
>>42553587
Does Wholesale Swallow oombo with Devour and can you explain Berserk and its effects for Owl and I? Graves sir.
>>
>>42553728
>>42553648
Boost is a free action involving two active participants. A recently deceased person is exerting more effort than climbing a skwered ladder when overcoming post body atrophy.

Though I am just musing at this point.

>>42553715
>>42553728

Multiple damage source in a single instance adds to
-hp trauma. Someone fresh coming into this situation [post trauma] need only apply [finish off] or [scuttle] to end the job. Sustained DoTs will simply push up the death timer.

How that is processed.
Attacker attacks 3 times with a single action using a machinegun. One victim to -9
Victim goes into Critical.
Attacker 2 walks in to [Finish off]
Victim is dead.

Example 2.
Attacker uses a machinegun putting 3 victims to [Critical] at -1Hp
Attacker uses a second action targetting the same 3 victims.
3 victims have achieved Death.

*[Scuttle] is a rogue skill.
>>
>>42553817
[Scuttle]?
>>
>>42553817
So just to clarify. If separate actions hit somebody, they qualify as dead? Why is finish off not a normal attack then? It achieves the same purpose? Finish off seems redundant given the examples you have there.
>>
>>42553858
because it's more dramatic when you [Finish Off] someone, rather than when you just [attack] them.

You're clearly doing the same thing but in the first instance you get to pose dramatically as you finally slay your stricken foe.
>>
>>42553817
Unless example 2 is a typo and the second string of attacks only push up the death timer and finish off is necessary to coup-de-grace them in the same round, and attacks in later rounds are enough to auto finish them off.
>>
>>42553880
>Unless example 2 is a typo
It is not see:
>>42553587
>Additionally, damage taken again while in Critical, or a [Finish off] action will ensure Death.
See the word "or" there? It means if you are at 0hp or lower and then receive a second damage input you die. It need not be a finish off action, any damage will do. We saw this is action on the last floor when Wendigo was put in to a death state.

The game just got more lethal.
>>
>>42551188
>>42553763

Graves already explained that to you, dear. Dead inside you from the hp loss? Instant devour. Beserk however is unknown as we haven't experienced it.

Possibly you go mad and rage.

However, given the unique situation of Ghouls it would be useful to clarify their position in this situation. >>42553587

A ghoul would enter critical, and be at -hp. Restrained, it would just trash on the ground (but likely not bleed out or risk actual Death unless bodily destroyed?)ยจ

unrestrained, however, it would go beserk... what does this mean now? That it goes on a killing spree targeting everything, and can still "act" but becomes NPC?
>>
HOw this affects the Undead.

Undead does not "achieve" death. But can still have their bodies be destroyed. Overdamage doesn't destroy their body unless the damage type specifically achieves this. Healing spells will destroy a ghoul body post trauma.

Instead of Death Timers, Ghouls and other undead recieve a re-raise timer. When this expires, a Ghoul can [Get up]

[This is the last time im reposting this.]
WholeSale: A medium sized target is consumed. Items and all. They digest at the rate of 1 acid damage a turn. Destroying the body if ever they reach 0. They are consmed henceforth and treated as [Devoured] If the ghoul is downed with a swallowed victim, the target is set free. Ghouls can also expend an action to "spit" the victim out.

Berserk: Instead of achieving Critical downed condition. A ghoul goes berserk, is no longer being controlled by a player and runs around killing people indiscriminately during the dungeon Phase. Nothing short of killing it /again/ and reapplying its restraints will do the trick.

>>42553880
Some attacks consume Ammo, Spells, or my sanity. so it's better to just give [Finish Off] as a free /anything/ action with the same result.
>>
>>42553946
>>Berserk: Instead of achieving Critical downed condition. A ghoul goes berserk, is no longer being controlled by a player and runs around killing people indiscriminately during the dungeon Phase. Nothing short of killing it /again/ and reapplying its restraints will do the trick.
This begs the question of "What happens if the ghoul is in critical condition but is still restrained?" I always assumed that ghouls when going to negative HP can still act as normal as long as they are restrained, effectively making them immortal by conventional means.
>>
>>42553817
That cleared things up for me. I never realised how much enemy attacks has been spread out until now...

Thank you Monday for clearing it up. I dont want to be too close to the front lines anymore...
>>
>>42553972
They go into critical like a normal corpse person. and Berserk doesn't override it.
>>
>>42553946
...The interesting thing about this for me is that a Ghoul can swallow another Ghoul with Regenerate and then spit them out later.
>>
>>42554000
Have you heard of the Matroyska Sisters ? I heard there were more than 3 of them.
>>
>>42553946
Can a ghoul be healed out of Beserk? Either through Devour\Bloodlust\Regen or via lots of jerky or Darc magic?
>>
>>42554015
"Nothing short of killing them again and applying the restraints"

=//=

"I'll just heal the beserking ghoul"
>>
>>42554000

I can picture a fat ghoul, perhaps a rogue for the extra movement and Takedown, vomiting a bunch of other ghouls after covering the ground. Or perhaps his friends just climb out of his spazzing body.
>>
>>42553995
Very interesting, okay if I understand this correctly then undead also go to critical condition and cannot act anymore unless raised. So if a ghoul is restrained and gets to critical then it is downed and cannot act until fed meat, regens itself or is raised.

Then going from the class chart how do we justify the incredibly low heart value of Gho[U]ls for a melee advanced class? With being so easy to down and no conventional healing available to help them they seem to be more of a liability than an asset.

Also this >>42554015
I asked this before sorry for repeating, but if a ghoul goes berserk and finds an enemy to eat and eats himself back to health then is he calmed down and can be controlled by the controlling player again? Or the player has lost control forever?
>>
>>42554076
>>42554076
The ghoul is clearly undergoing a feeding frenzy. It says "Nothing short of killing the guy and putting him back in his restraints will calm him down".

Is it somehow impossible that that actually means "nothing short of killing the guy and putting him back in his restraints" rather than "Oh but you can also of course totally heal him and cast magic on him or feed him jerky"?

Nothing short of is kind of a definitive statement. It's not exactly a debatable hedging of vague possibilities.

So if he goes beserk, he's beserk. He runs around killing people. Someone nice and polite double taps him through the skull with a high powered sniper rifle to calm him down, we slap him in restraints and there we go, back in control.
--

Interesting sidepoint, this explains the low health value - you get back up again and again as a ghoul if you're restrained, so you can take risks. If you're unrestrained and rush into melee, you might get killed, but you'll bounce back up right away and be beserk. So now you're beserk and in melee with the enemy.

It's a tactical choice. Good times.
>>
>>42554110
I do not know who you are. And unless you are Monday who forgot his trip and name I am going to discount everything you say. Because only Monday can answer these questions for us.
>>
>>42554076
>>42554110

You can also get a mage to heal with a darc spell. Generally speaking, while a ghoul is fighting in a mob, a mage can freely spam dark AoE into the crowd without worry.
>>
>>42554110
It is not a tactical choice for the player because if he goes berserk then he looses control of his character. Thus we could "technically" say that his character is "dead" because it is no longer under his control. After that what is the player to do? He cannot redeploy or choose another character because his character is no dead yet but because of this situation he cannot actually "PLAY THE GAME" anymore. That is the real concern.
>>
>>42554131
>>42554131
Sure, that's your choice. But the English Language doesn't exactly leave a whole lot of wiggling space for a statement that directly says "nothing short of X will do Y". It's not exactly a very debatable point in general, and I guess I just find it weird that someone can go "okay the rules are this" and the response is "okay you said the rules are this but what if I ignore the rules and do this other thing?"
Feel free to ignore me but I don't see the point of contention. It's not a difficult question to answer.
"X is a thing that happens, it can only be resolved by activity Y".
Ghouls without restraints go beserk. If they go beserk, you calm them down by knocking the living daylights out of them with an axe, and then you restrain them. It's why ghouls are dangerous. Because they go beserk and will need to be calmed down in a manner terminal to most sentient creatures. Did you [Heal] the beserking ghoul to give it more HP? Fucking great, now the BESERKING GHOUL is at full hp, but it's still in a feeding frenzy like your average great white shark and or protoganist from the Prototype Series, hoodies and devouring and all. You get it out of beserk by knocking it straight out and restraining it, because you're literally killing the beserking ghoul to re-assert control over it.

But since I'm apparently not invited to your rules discussion party, I'll just fucking see myself out. Have fun, and enjoy your game.
>>
>>42554163
When he beserks you simply has to put him down again (put him in critical condition) and then restrain him as well.
>>
>>42554171
aw but you said sensible things :<
>>
>>42554076
A Ghoul heals by devouring opponents. There wasn't any proper metric at the time but they get back half the HP value the opponent had. with Devour this lets them gain a stat boost as well.

This is important for Berserking Ghouls.
And Graves is right," The conditions of getting them out of it comes in two flavors.

> Restrain them.
or
> Wait [survive] it out.

We lack experimental data to suggest anything else.
>>
>>42554282
Thanks for answering that question for me.

>>42554171
I am sorry, but when I ask the GM a question I'm not asking for anyone's interpretation of what they think the rules are even if they think they are 100% correct, I'm asking for a direct ruling from the person who is running the game.

One reason I asked is that I have seen a White Ghoul get knocked below 0 HP.... and get fed jerky and be fine afterwords. However it could be that White Ghouls don't go Beserk and instead are considered Down until healed.
>>
>>42554282
It would be fair to assume that regenerate could help there. Anyhow, we will see when it happens.
>>
>>42554171
Very well I'll bite, considering the lethality of the game why would any sensible player choose the ghoul class beside fluff reasons? You are barely stronger than a [H]unter for an advanced meele class with or without restraints. You cannot wear anything on our offhand unless restraints are removed. If they are removed you can use other items like weapons/armor but only if available. But you loose an attack and 2 damage resist so with hearts you are even easier to put down and then you become a liability for the whole group because even at ideal circumstances they have to waste a turn of actions to put you down, then another to walk to you and restrain you, then ANOTHER one to heal you back to your senses. This is overall very wasteful action economy even in the ideal situation that the berserking ghoul attacks only the enemy and not friendlies.

The main strength of ghouls should be that they are undead which can come with unique advantages and some disadvantages but, as I see it, at this point is no longer worth much. You cannot be healed or stabilized by conventional methods, you are not capable of acting at negative HP, you are not exceptionally strong, you are easy to put down and when you are put down in most circumstances it is more advantageous to the group to just outright kill you permanently. Now granted they won't kill you but it is a hassle to get you back in workable condition, all the time while you are not in control of your character's actions and you cannot reroll la new character until your current one is dead or restrained back. Correct me if I am wrong but you are not really gaining anything substantial besides a little better statline and Darc magic healing to offset these disadvantages.
>>
>>42554335
Unfortunately I can't retroactively apply rules to past games :p

Know also that the berserk condition applies to
Ghoul [The Status Condition]
Gho[U]l [The Job] has no re raise timer for Berserk. But "civilian" wight ghouls will. Just to give you time to run away.
>Restraints are your friend here. And it is automatically on a Gho[U]l. One takes it off to gain that stat boost for offensive operations.

I will advise also to err on the side of caution when the inevitable interpretation of rules occur. As rules experimentation involved with magic can ALSO lead to bad results happening. Magic rules in this game is next and the one thing to keep in mind here is that a failed magic doesn't uncast- it goes Awry.
>>
>>42554404
Would a Ghoul that has been Suspended or otherwise immobilized be considered restrained?
>>
>>42554404
What about a rampaging ghoul who is pulled into an Iron Maiden?
>>
>>42554335
Eh, fair enough. I guess I can see why it'd been seen as some random outsider dropping into offer conjecture on rules he has no reasons to really know about. I'd put on my actual face, but, y'know, last time I checked *someone* in this conversation closed a dimensional rift while I was standing inside it, so I don't so much have a face as a vague sludge of matter twisted through time and space.

>>42554355
I don't know why you're taking that up with me? I never claimed it was as good choice. I said it was a tactical choice. Your concern that someone loses their character and their way of "interacting" with the game is completely valid - and also the main concern I share. It seems cruel to force someone to sit out. At least when Beckie ate a rocket, she could re-roll instantly. If you re-roll while beserking, you're also indirectly giving up on that entire character.

But as a choice? Sure. You can run into a group of enemies, attack, and get killed - then go beserk *while* inside that group of enemies.

A ghoul without restrains gains +1 atk, +1 ACT, +1 mov. That means a baseline ghoul with nothing else using only their teeth hit for 4 and does so 3 times in a row. It'll tear people up. It's likely that it'll also be shot to death so we restrain it then.

A ghoul *with* restraints is perfectly capable of using weapons and items, though.
[U] Owl is a Hunter-> Ghoul, he has bloodlust and regenerate and a hunter chain. While restrained, he hits for 3 at range 3, and heals every time he kills an enemy while also healing 1 hp a turn from regenerate. If he's killed while restrained, he'll pop back up almost immediately from regenerate + being undead, constantly gain hp and eat people.

Is it a great idea to go beserk? No, it really probably isn't. But the Ghoul is clearly a pretty decent class with very high survivability, the ability to gain hp lots and lots and even grow stronger on a floor by [Devour]for stat points.

Best class? Nah. Viable class? Yes!

I'll need to go dig up the stats on the ghoul [job] but I imagine the choice of berserking was never meant to be taken lightly and the economy lies in the choice of when and where to use it. I'm sure it can be quite handy in certain situations even if we do have to subdue it later...

Monday, can berserking ghouls be contained with an iron maiden and left to cool off (whenever that might be)?

Does some kind of "ghoul bait" exist? Like a particularly pungent liquid that smells strongly of bloody meat?

Oh. Velen answered part of my question. I type slow...

Try saving a bone splinter to pick your teeth? Dental hygiene is important..

I was hoping for something particularly strong that would stand out a little over the bleeding masses to hopefully make it easier to draw a berserking ghoul away, but I suppose a berserking ghoul really would just attack the nearest target regardless.

While restrained, he hits for 3 at range 3, and heals every time he kills an enemy while also healing 1 hp a turn from regenerate. If he's killed while restrained, he'll pop back up almost immediately from regenerate + being undead, constantly gain hp and eat people.

According to the rules at
>>42553587
>>42553946
It states that Undead have a re-raise timer, when that expire the undead can get up. While if you want to heal normal person back to action you have heal them to Max HP, regeneration says 1 HP/turn so it takes 3 turns for the [U] to get back unless the re-raise timer expires further or there is an interaction between these two.

>Is it a great idea to go beserk? No, it really probably isn't. But the Ghoul is clearly a pretty decent class with very high survivability, the ability to gain hp lots and lots and even grow stronger on a floor by [Devour]for stat points.
If you take [Devour] you can increase your stats but it is not known if the stat increase is forever or just for the current Floor, if yes then a Ghoul can become absurdly powerful in due time but that does not help the bad start and high risk of just being killed. As I see it the best ghoul skill is "wholesale" because that immediately removes an enemy from combat, the rest are very situational.

I respectfully disagree with you on the "high survivability" of the [U] with so little HP, vulnerability to fire/healing and no conventional healing methods existing. Sure there are ways to do it but all of them are very situational, darc magic is not always available, if you take Bloodlust + regeneration you are harder to kill on the long but 6 damage/turn is not uncommon. Fire also easily damages you as you have 3 magic and not aether numb and fire ignores DR. Then you are using 2 skills that actually do not aid you in combat, those skills are best if you have a high HP pool and Gh[U]ls have the lowest.

It just seems that Scholar is meant for mages.

To be frank I don't really understand how most Scholar spells work at all.

>[Polarize] Subvert spell effects Offensive x Supportive"
Does sthat mean that a Scholar can cast healing and turn it to damage and back? Can he cast a fireball and subvert it to be Pulse ball? Does the subvert work on his spells or an opponents or both?

>[Recursion] Last spell is cast again.
Okay is it his own last spell? The one that was prepared? Or a spell cast by someone else? Does it take an extra action?

>[Sacred Geometry]
This I think I understand from how it was used by Questi, but is there a limit to it? If we put a ward on all corners of the map a Scholar can can Fire-Block to bring ARAMAGEDDON and destroy the entire map in a blazing inferno?

>[Tangent] Combine prepared spell to target spell
I totally do not understand this one. Is it your own spell? Is it castby someone else? How does this interact with other spells? Can it counterspell someone else's spell? So if someone casts Fire-Ball and you combine it with your Darc-Ball the opponent cast a Fire-Darc-Ball?

That and using all these together like [Recursion] and [Tangent], your partner cast a [Fire-Darc-Ball] and you cast the same things effectively replacing 4 caster words. Then you cast this with polarize and you both cast a Pulse ball?

Lots of questionable things here but I also have to get back to work, see you guys later!
>>
>>42555030

[Polarize] flips the nature of a spell. An offensive spell becomes defensive. An Offensive spell becomes defensive.

>Does that mean that a Scholar can cast healing and turn it to damage and back?
Yes pulse would become a damage spell if polarized.
> Can he cast a fireball and subvert it to be Pulse ball?
Most likely it would grant some kind of fire defense buff. It could also grant a fire shield. We wont know till someone tries it.

> Does the subvert work on his spells or an opponents or both? His spells, unless you use tangent.

[Recursion] effects the last spell CAST. Doesn't matter who's spell it is. This means if you're the first to act you may cast an enemy spell. If you cast a spell then use [Recursion] it will be your spell. If you use [Recursion] after a friendly mage casts a spell it will be their spell. Presumably you can choose new targets because it'd be silly if you couldn't.

>Does it take an extra action?
Casting [Recursion] is the action. The effect is the spell cast again.

[Sacred Geometry] - Make a square. Cast a spell in it.
>but is there a limit to it?
No.
>If we put a ward on all corners of the map a Scholar can can Fire-Block to bring ARAMAGEDDON and destroy the entire map in a blazing inferno?
Yes.

[Tangent] combine spells. So if you [Tangent] Fireball into Darcball you get (Whatever the FireDarc fusion is)ballball.
>Is it your own spell?
Your prepared spell into a target spell.
> Is it castby someone else?
The target can be cast by someone else. Or you can cast your own spell and then tangent a prepared one into it.
>How does this interact with other spells?
They combine.
>Can it counterspell someone else's spell?
Straight up stop it? No. You could [Tangent] a [Pulse] into a damage spell so it heals and deals damage or vise versa.
>>
>>42555446
Error [Polarize] works on TARGET spell. So whatever spell you target. Yours, your friends, the enemies, whatever.

>>42555030

>That and using all these together like [Recursion] and [Tangent], your partner cast a [Fire-Darc-Ball] and you cast the same things effectively replacing 4 caster words. Then you cast this with polarize and you both cast a Pulse ball?

>First person casts Fireball
>You [Tangent] in Darcball so they cast FireDarcBallBall
>You use [Recursion] to cast FireDarcBallBall again.
>Unless you get [Accel]ed by a Navigator you don't have enough actions to [Polarize]. If you did it would only effect one spell.
>[Polarize] the other spell before you [Recursion] and both are defensive.
>[Polarize] after using [Recursion] and only the one you [Polarize] is defensive.

Scholar skills are metamagiks. They are actions in and of themselves. Not like mage words that are combined to make a spells.
>>
>>42555446

Theoretically you can [Tangent] into a counterspell by introducing a cancelling element. There was an elemental characteristics and interactions list that was posted a while back which mentions some cancelling interactions. I think it was Pyro(?) and Aqua that cancel each other, as an example. If you [Tangent] Aqua into someone's Pyro (or whatever the Fire element was called) spell, it just might cause the spell to fizzle or implode.
>>
>>42555584
See
>>42554404

> Magic rules in this game is next and the one thing to keep in mind here is that a failed magic doesn't uncast- it goes Awry.

I'd bank on an explosion over a straight cancel.
>>
>>42555030

> Polarize.
In the scheme of metamagics it makes a target spell or casts a target spell with reversed effects. Polarize currently crosses the line between Astral Runic and Spiritual Ley, while the shape of the spell doesn't change, its effects will, making it great as a soft Counter or as a gateway for both mages and Guides to get out of their comfort zone.

A Fireball becomes an Invigorate , and a Pulse becomes a "Dark" Pulse. Alternatively the effects of a Cleanse becomes an "Ingrain"

Recursion.
This is a tricky one as it requires cooperation and a quiet room ! Recursion allows the User to cast the last spell that they have seen or experienced. This includes traps that have gone off and an Enemy spell ! Used with Polarize and you will get a perfect cancel even if the spell is already hardcasted.

Sacred Geometry:
Yes.
Know that sacred Geometry will affected /anything/ inside of its area.

Tangent can't be anything but an invasive spell.
When you cast a tangent, you cast a spell prepared by you and interrupt an ongoing cast with it. The result is a mix of two spells, or an interrupted spell with your words added and then casted.

To describe it in rogue terms, I see your Fire Arrow Arrows, Take it, add Ball Ball and throw it to your friends.

Floors_ Scholar: Oh OH I know this one ehem, " And then I take your Fire Double Arrow Ball, Polarize it and give it my friends at the birthday party "

Runner Scholar: And then I say it backwards and cast it again, so my sacred domain is now a sea of fire.

Questi: And then I hear it backwards and say it again making you a liar,

*horrid laughter*
*explosions*

>>
>>42559974
You must use and action for it since it isn't a passive, therefore 2 actions to polarize your own Pulse.

Monday would you consider putting Beserk on timer? just like the same countdown for fallen people and dying? That is you have 1 turn to heal the Ghoul back up to full or they do go beserk. That would mitigate a lot of the issues I could see with the playability of the class and it would hold more in line with previous Floors. IE feeding Becky after getting their face got ripped off.

Sorry for re-hashing this again. I just don't see how the class could compare to the other advanced classes as it is now.

>>
>>42561197
The problem is if you don't tell us then nobody is going to take off the restraints or even take the class anymore. Risk/reward is too low. If ghouls has decent stats that became amazing stats without the restraints (buff up all their restraint-degraded stats by a further one point) then a lot of people would take the risk even assuming we don't get the one turn chance to heal them, but as it stands that risk is waaaay too high.

And I say this as the guy advocating taking off the restraints entirely in the past.
>>
>>42561314
As it stands right now. Ghouls have mediocre stats that become good when they take off the restraints, and most of their abilities don't synergies well with team mates.

This game has proven again and again cross class support carries the day. Look at the last map. The militias focused team, despite their amazing dis, got their asses handed to them and likely would have even without reversal on our side.

Who is going to play a class that has almost no ability to really support or be supported in a game where soloing just ends up with you dead?

All abilities, except wholesale maybe, only help the ghoul. They don't help anybody else. Even warm bite only helps the ghoul because wild ghouls will go after no undead team mates.

The class sticks out like a sore thumb, it's disadvantages far outweighing it's advantages now.
>>
>>42561314
>>42561393
To extrapolate. Previously a ghoul could be dealt with. Now a ghoul takes a minimum of two turns to stop their berserk. You have to heal them back into positive health, knock them down without reducing their healt into the negatives again, then restrain them. And yo unrestrain them requires keys that are in limited supply and take up inventory space because we can never be sure the blood market will pop between floors.

The barrier to entry, and the massive amount of detriments and risks a ghoul presents, far out weight their stat line, which is, even unrestrained, not fantastic, especially since unrest raining them loses them 2 def I think?

The only useful time for them is if they can be deployed behind enemy lines, and those situations are exceedingly rare. Compare and contrast the amazing utility and breadth of use every other advanced class has. Rogue and hunter choices would have to be amazingly bad for ghoul to look good for any reason but flavor now.
>>
>>42541111
Please label this as a quest.
>>
>>42561531
You should play. Then you'll understand how unquestlike this is.
>>
>>42561469

You know I hear everything you're saying, but I all I can see is [Hook and Pull] into [Wholesale]. If spot removing enemies from play isn't helpful I don't know what is.

Oh, you were a Rogue? So now you can keep doing all those Rogue things that made you valuable to the time AND BE REALLY FUCKING HARD TO KILL.

You are right that the Ghoul class is rather different from the other advance classes. It doesn't radically alter base game play. Instead it enhances the game play that already exists.

Now if you wanna cry about losing control of your character because of berserk feel free. But to say Ghoul as an advance is worthless because you fail to recognize it's strengths is an insult to Monday.
>>
>>42561697
I'm not saying it's worthless. I'm saying it's no where near as good as the other advanced classes.

Unless devour permanently increases stats. In which case I take all of the above back.
>>
>>42561697

Poka, or any other drawfag here, I would like to humbly submit a request of a picture of a ghoul hunter, swinging his/her chain thing over their head, chasing an enemy of your choice while screaming "IMMA GONNA HOOK AN' PULL YOU INTO MAH BELLY!"

That would be totally awesome.
>>
>>42561469
A ghoul is meant to be played as something you send to the enemy without care of what happens to them. Or something to be played very patiently and very methodically. Every part of them reeks of attrition and where you place them to die is the difference between chaos in your lines or in the enemy's. Ghouls are also not meant for frontline fighting. This is a misconception. They are decoys, or silent threats that takes the leg s out of an enemy from right under them. Serial devourings let them stalk the floors gaining power with every victory almost to the point that the restraints will stop slowing them down on all but one aspect; their frenzies.

Its offensive value is great and its threat value is unreasonably high. A Berserk Ghoul is a choice a player makes by taking off their restraints with or without the preconception of using those upgraded stats. If these reasons discount one from playing them then simply don't do it. They are monsters you use to fight monsters.

Wyrm Bite is also extremely overlooked. That thing can sire red ghouls but you dont control them, cause again Ghouls aren't about control. It's using chaos to gain it. Against an organized mob its a slow wave of death. Against a strong opponnent it's a creature to send against them. In a standard floor where the difficulty is baseline it's actually not suggested to take risks with them.

There was never any reason to take off the restraints unless you're sure that you can contain the situation with your team or a few hunter traps.

Here is what you don't know about berserking ghouls:
-Other ways to mitigate them.
-Their limitations in the field.
-Their viability as a offensive strategy.

I cannot in good conscience make changes to things that haven't even seen field testing let alone a class that hasn't hit its peak on its first run.

>>42561314
I don't agree. I think this is because you're mentally assuming the Ghoul should be radically different, a sort of advance class, but what it actually is a status effect you've learned to master that's turned you into this creature.

All of the skills enhance your basic capabilities, and it's just been said up thread that Unrestrained Ghouls have no beserk re-spawn timer. That means they "killed", go beserk, and on that same dungeonphase they get right back up and attack the closest enemy.

That's dangerous as all hell for one. You also need to fully destroy their bodies to stop them coming back, so they'll stay alive and stick around because they're eating people and regaining ticks of health every single turn.

A restrained ghoul has higher def than a rogue or hunter, more health than both, more magic than both, same move as a rogue, same acts as a hunter and same base damage as a rogue. So it's whatever it was earlier, plus being harder to kill, plus the ability to eat people, devour them for stat gain, infect them so that they spawn more angry rogues that infect other people that turns the map into a re-enactment of a zombie apocalypse and keep coming back up after a timer ticks away because they can't die.

Steal+Shallow? Enemy gone and you have their gear. Is that a shield or a sword? Now you're a def 6 (def 6!) guy facing the enemy. That's a knight. Hit for 6 damage but you have Regenerate? Sleep it off, get back up, kill the guy.

Run amok for a bit, and kill some people, and your beserk will probably wear of. It's a volatile, dangerous to control weapon you aim at the enemy and unleash. It's literally playing the ripper-slasher of a given horror movie.

It doesn't get as many awesome combinatorics as the lower three classes, but it's okay. Tell me "Shallow Whole"+"Suppression" for taking out 2 enemies without a fight isn't useful, and I'll call you incorrect.
>>
>>42561819
Thanks for expanding on the ghoul class. I know you like to have us find out things for ourselves but I do appreciate you taking the time to write that. I personally would never go Ghoul, but I can now see the appeal of it beyond pure fluff reasons.

I am a mage after all. My place is off to the side, raining death upon the enemy and dealing with horrors from beyond time and space.
>>
>>42561697
Not done it yet but I will enjoy using Steal to grab someones weapon and then bash his face in. Without my restraints and Owls restraints I bet we could kill 3-4 guys in 1 turn by ourselves without trouble.

Ghouls take almost all of their skill list to shine, but we are mostly unkillable.

I, however, will not be there if we fight a scholomance raid team.

Next floor we have an alchemist who messed with us, summoner lady who possibly had the crew north also fuck with us, dickhead pumpkin face who did something horrible, and Wendigo who was good on self defence.

And now we have everyone on the ship making friends and trading notes.

This is about survival.

I will murder my way trough an entire town of people I dont know to get to those blasted steps and I will bring everyone who wants to come with me. People on this ship equal comrades, everyone else is worked by ear.

=So you wish to become an Alquemist=

Alquemistry is the foundation of Volgon's scientific advances. Unlike the void addled mages or tradition oriented Guides, Alquemistry sees the present and finds the future at the source: Crystals.

These curious objects of crystallized aetha has formed as a result of the aetherial upwind that has occured from the destruction of Floors. To say that whole planetary souls aren't also running from the Malebolgia would be a lie, this is fact. SciFax !

Aetha Crystals can be found on virtually every floor, if not it can be grown using the materials found there in. The air is rich in oxygen but also ridiculously harmful ga-
*skip*

Alquemists are given two important pieces of equipment. A basic firearm capable of firing Volgon rounds, and their Tinker's Kit.

Tinker's Kit: This piece of equipment is needed to suspend small items in Solution and is responsible for converting items to crystals, infusing solutions to items and the head mounted laser engraver is equipped with a neural function that lets the wearer graft microscopic runes on weaponry.

Engrave: This skill allows the user to use the personal labkit to engrave runic to items. This is a favorite of scholomance transfers as it allows previously plain weapons to carry a single spell effect. The element and magical output of that spell is dependent entirely on the weapon and the user's [Mag stat] respectively. Engrave is a single action, modifying a single weapon or consumeable.
Engraves last an entire floor. Another engrave action changes the Engrave, not add on to it.

>A sword is engraved with Ball+Arrow. Its element is Pyras. Upon attacking with a sword it will cast a ball arrow on the opponnent struck.

> A gun is engraved with RingBlock but the bullets it fires are Pyra, and Tera. She may then fire a 3x3 ring of fire to appear on the tile shot. And then create a ring of earthwalls around the second target [even if the target was the one shot.]

>>42564391
Infuse: Apply a coloured solution and infuse an item slot in your inventory with it. Any piece of equipment occupying that stack becomes aligned with that element The solution is afterwards, spent. How do you get Solutions you ask ? Well Shiraiya labs, and the Scholomance carries them but raw aetha crystals can only be found in abundance in the Volgon DMZ. Barring that you one may-

Crystallize: An object and break it down to its elemental base the resulting yield should be its prominent element in 2 variations ; Shards, or Crystals. One bigger than the other. Since there are 2 suspension chambers on your kit one should be able to shift up to two items to suspend in a Solution with a single action.
Finally, by using a solvent one may convert an item slot of unprocessed aetha crystals into its matching coloured solution.

Chartreuse Solution: A Lux aspected liquid capable of changing the element of an item slot.
Vermilion Solution: A Pyras aspected liquid capable of changing the element of an item slot
Lilac Solution: A Teras aspected liquid capable of changing the element of an item slot
Marine Solution: A Hydra aspected liquid capable of changing the element of an item slot
Ciel Solution: A Aera aspected liquid capable of changing the element of an item slot

>>42564423
>Can these be mixed ?
Absolutely ! One needs only to use these items onto each other to convert their color Just to be safe make sure your portions match.

What can I infuse these on ?
Weapons, Consumeable Items, Ammo, and unprocessed elemental crystals and each other.

Why is there no "Darc Solution ?
It becomes Solvent. Used in turning other crystals into solutions. Kind of paradoxical huh ?

So What happens if I get Darc Crystals ?
Add water, it becomes Solvent. Kind of recursive huh ?

What is life ?
Floors. My friend.

Launch Item:
A simpleton Militiaman's favorite. Launch item fires a low yield charge allowing items to be ferried across the field via ballistic trajectory. What's more, the item applicates as soon as it lands on its target. How a fellow Alquemists manages to apply red solution to my lab equipment without it blowing up half my carcass lives on in legend to this day.

What can I launch ?
Anything can can fit in your inventory can fit on the nose of your gun !

What are these pillshots Doc ?
0 damage applicators of magicked munitions. You don't need these specifically to cast spells, normal bullets is enough, however I can't imagine a healing solution going off too well with contra rounds ....

Hey so....am I wrong to think that the Napalm Hug we *found* earlier would be very....interesting with alchemist runes engraved on it, not to mention elemental types?

Seems neat. This is a cool class with fun potential. I like it, Monday.

Can an alquemist launch an equipable item at somebody and automatically equip it to them? Like knock their current weapon out of their hand to be replaced by the new weapon? Or even new armor?
