PREVIOUSLY ON MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Magical+Girl+LibertyThe three of you are blasted back into the castle. You manage to roll onto all fours, dragging your gloved hands and your legs across the old floor while Lightning and Bomber get thrown out entirely. The rumble of Otto von Bismarck’s feet feels like a giant going along. How did the story go again? Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman, be he alive or be he dead, I’ll grind his bones to make my bread. Man, Mom had some macabre taste in poems and nursery tales. The big armored ghost smashes through the hole you made, stepping in and charging up his cannon. The engine on his back roars, and you can hear the loud ear-piercing whirring of his machine guns being charged. Lightning and Bomber recover, looking up in shock and surprise. This was certainly no Storm Ace but you guess this is the next best thing.> OTTO VON BISMARCK <> An Armored Poltergeist <“I got the book!” yells Lightning. She lifts it up in the air, announcing its presence.Knives and Tiny step around the sides of Otto. “She’s got the book!” yells Tiny. Otto turns his gun towards Lightning, and it immediately sights down on Lightning.Lightning blinks, and then lobs the book to Bomber. “She’s got the book!”Otto fires. The old paper and wood walls are shattered and splintered by the fury of hundreds of bullets. You duck, bob, and weave, getting separated from your friends in the chaos. The barrage is near relentless as Otto fires without pause. You hope he has to reload soon!Right, only way safe is up now. “Come on!” You grab Bomber’s shoulder as she cowers beneath a table and then hurry her upstairs.“What about Lightning!?” Rana looks frantic, holding onto the book desperately.[1/2]
>>42458800[2/2]“She can take care of herself!” you yell. The floorboards explode as Otto fires upwards, apparently trying to guess where you’re going. Probably for obvious reasons, he can’t follow you up the rickety wood stairs. Good thing he doesn’t have a rocketpack or anything. You look down the hole to see Lightning rush at Otto, stunning him and sending him back out the door. She slashes at the armor. The blade pings off with a shuddering blue glow to the plate. Must be some sort of anti-magic shielding. Great. “Come on, she’s giving us time!”But out of the hole flies up Tiny. > Take Tiny together, it’s two on one!You spin up your shields, throwing one at her. She blasts off to the left, firing a barrage of anti-magic pellets at you and Bomber. The two of you duck and lie out for cover as she repositions. “Bomber, now!”She nods, pulling one of her signature Thompsons out of her dress. A suppressive volley pins Tiny down behind an overturned table. Now’s your chance! As soon as Bomber begins reloading, you rush at the little hunter. Tiny pokes her head up, then immediately ducks. She just narrowly avoided a shield to the face. She blasts back with her rocketpack, again keeping distance between you and her. And with that, she fires off another barrage of anti-magic at you. This time, you keep your shields up. The pellets spark and explode off your shield, sending embers of fire all over the floor.“Now!” you yell again. You open your shields and duck to the side, letting a freshly reloaded Bomber hop into the fray. She again fires off another storm of bullets at Tiny, who quickly blasts off around the room, faster than Bomber can turn. She drags her feet to a stop, then lobs a grenade.“Look out!” The two of you jump, and it blows another fiery hole into the castle floor. You look over to see Bomber A-OK, simply nursing a bruise on her head, still holding the book underarm. Tiny has more or less disappeared in the confusion. Great, fine, at least she’s out of your hair.[1/2]
>>42459445[2/2]Lightning explodes out of the floor, popping down next to you, with bruises and cuts all over. Her little minidress is nearly torn to shreds, showing off her vulnerable body underneath. “That robot ghost thing is together than it looks!” Your ear twitches. You both immediately jump out of the way of another machine gun barrage. It tears more cracks and holes into the floor, and reveals the light up at the ceiling. “Where are we going!?”“Up!” You grab Bomber again and make for the stairs, but quickly stop. You see Tiny toss in a grenade through the window on the next floor, then quickly fly away into the sky. It explodes into a burst of flame. Oh, great. It starts enveloping the old, dusty wood floor quickly, and immediately smoke begins to develop. Damn it, damn it.“We can’t keep going up!” says Bomber.“Well I’m not going back down!” says Lightning. You look down the stairs, through a hole in the floor to see Otto the Poltergeist staring up at you, apparently in the middle of reloading his guns.“You can’t run forever, Liberty!” screams Knives.Okay, stuck between a burning building or a giant Nazi robot ghost. > Keep going up.“Our only chance is up! Let’s go!” You spin up your shields, blasting back the smoke and smog. The fires are mostly harmless as long as you keep away. But already you can feel the heat rush up your skirt, up your sleeves, and start burning you away. The sweat runs down your body as you start running up the stairs.“Ah!” Bomber’s leg falls right through a stairstep. “Help!” Lightning quickly steps back and pulls her out, pushing her onto the next floor. “Thank you, thank you!”“Keep moving!” You rush for the next flight of stairs, but immediately Tiny again appears in a window. She fires off another barrage of anti-magic pellets. This time, you’re prepared again. They sparkle and fizzle right off of your shield. But the embers are already sparking and creating new fires off the floor. Before you can react, Tiny again disappears. Damn it! If only you could fly! “Come on!” Before you can reach it, the next set of stairs explodes from a barrage of machine gun bullets.“Damn it!” yells Lightning. “Now what!?”Bomber gently pushes you and Lightning back. “Stand back.” She holsters the Thompson into her dress then pulls out a Sturmpistole. She blasts the tiny shaped charge into the ceiling, blasting a hole big enough for the three of you. Without another word, she leaps up, then holds out her hand. “Come on!” Lightning grabs it, being hoisted up. You next, and you quickly make it up the floor.[1/2]
>>42460154[2/2]Tiny again appears through the window, this time lobbing a few more grenades down. They burst into a storm of fire, engulfing the stairs again. “I don’t suppose you have another one of those!?” asks Lightning.Bomber reaches into her skirt. “Hold on, hold on. I think I might have a blunderbuss tucked in here somewhere.” She pulls out a few pistols, tossing them aside. “No, no…”“It looks like you three need help.” You blink, then turn to the source of that voice. Kirby. He tilts his head, wagging his cat-like tail, sitting upon an old set of Samurai armor rusting away. “I am here to assist you.”“Took you long enough!” yells Lightning.> KIRBY <> The Messenger of the Continental United States <Bomber grins, kneeling down next to Kirby. “I knew you’d come for us! We have nowhere to go and we need a way out!”Kirby nods. “Very well.” He points to the window. “Jump out of that window there when I say to.” He quickly hops off the armor, scurries over to the window and jumps out, disappearing a puff of magic smoke. Well, that was helpful.“He wants us to jump out of a window!?” Lightning balks at the suggestion. “We could’ve done that two floors ago!”“We don’t have a choice.” You move on over to the window, and then smash up the old rotted paper and wood to give you more room for error. Bomber and Lightning stand next to you, ready to face anyone who comes by. And sure enough, they do. A pair of Stosstruppen backed up by Knives herself hop up through a hole in the floor.> KNIVES <> Leader of the vaunted Magisch Korps and Magical Girl Liberty’s fanclub <“Liberty, don’t jump!” she yells. “I can’t make love to a pulpy corpse!” Ugh, that is disgusting. The Stosstruppen glance at each other in disgust, then point their guns at you. “Give us the book now and I’ll let you live!”“Fat chance!” you yell. You look out the window. Um. Anytime now, Kirby. Bomber pulls out a Thompson, while Lightning readies her naginata. “Buy us some time, go!” Bomber quickly fires a barrage of bullets, shooting up one of the troopers and sending Knives and the other to the floor to cover. Lightning’s chance, she closes the distance. The other trooper rises to a kneel, only to be speared. His corpse is thrown aside, leaving only Knives now.[1/2]
>>42460763[2/2]“Ah come on! This isn’t 1938, I can’t just replace those guys!” she shouts. You and Bomber stay by the window, watching Knives and Lightning duel it out. Lightning has reach with her naginata, but Knives has flexibility. Every powerful attack Lightning can give, Knives has a counter. You look out the window again, to see Tiny setting another firetrap above you. She obviously intends to bring the building down on top of you. She flies off, and sets them off, sending the entire floor above into flames. Oh great. “Um, Kirby!?” you yell. “Any time now!”You blink, seeing a dot in the distance. Is that…It is!“Bomber, stay here!” You rush to Lightning’s aide, and tackle Knives before she can land a powerful blow. She flies right into a wall, ripping a hole through the burning wood. “Go, get to the window!” Lightning nods, running off. Knives rises again, dusting herself, her shoulder on fire.“What, don’t want to invite your little Jap?” She grins, quirking her brows. “I’m up for a ménage à trois!” You shake your head, throwing a shield at her. You nudge your head, warning her. She turns, and immediately blasts up.Why?Because one of Operator #5’s Wings was coming. You three take the leap of faith. Instead of dirt or mud you’re slamming into, it’s hard metal and aluminum. You grab onto a handhold on the wing, and hold on for dear life so as to make sure the vibrations don’t kick you off. It’s good to see you.” The Wing was large enough for a group of ten, making it comfortable for the five of you, Kirby, Sumire, Rana, yourself, and Magical Girl Fortress (Grace Belle). We have learned through channels in Germany that higher ups within the Reich’s hierarchy have seen funding to the Korps cut. Obviously this means they can no longer afford to recruit soldiers, distribute their advanced technology, or use armored vehicles in the scale they used to.”The five of you are addressed by Operator #5 in front of the big screen within the California Outpost of the SSO. It will be available within the next day or so. But your job now is to sabotage and disrupt Magisch Korps operations within the Asian theatre. Clear?”“Clear.” Sabotage and disrupt huh? Easy enough. “What do you want me to do first?”“There is a Nazi scientist named Doctor Helmut Kalbfleischer working with the Japanese Unit 731. Just accept it. “Once she lands, I’m going to get her autograph!” Her fists shake in unbridled glee. “Ooohh! I can’t handle it!”You smirk a bit, and then look over at Sumire. “Christ, Sumire. Clean up after yourself.” She’s getting vanilla ice cream all over her nice dress. You pick up a napkin and then start pressing down on her chest, wiping it off. But when you look at her face, she has the smuggest grin, looking at you. “… what?”“Oh, nothing!” She glances away, giggling a bit.> Push harder.> “Fine, clean your own dress.”> “Well, this is a change from this morning.”> Other

> Push harder.> OtherYou take another napkin and unfold it. That’ll be for later. But first, you take a lick of your napkin then shove it onto her chest, wiping it clean of all the little white droplets of ice cream. “Yuck,” she says. Right, you crumple this napkin up and grab the spare one. You gently fold one end of it down her neck, and then spread it across her chest. “… what’s this?”“A bib,” you say. “For babies like you.” Rana giggles quietly, trying not to laugh. Sumire blushes, puffing her cheeks out and glaring at you. “Don’t look at me like that, learn some table manners you damn Jap.” She huffs, continuing to eat her ice cream in the same manner as before. At least now the droppings are dripping down onto the makeshift bib.Just after that though, the planes starts landing down. “Oooh!” Rana stands up quickly. “Jackie’s plane is landing! I gotta get her autograph! Oh but I don’t have anything for her to autograph!” You motion to her hat, laying on her lap. “Oh, right!” She grins, stepping down the bleachers to go meet Jackie Cochran.Sumire hums a bit. “Goodness, Rana really loves her planes, huh?”[1/2]
>>42464382[2/2]“She’s one of those girls,” you say. “Probably should’ve been born a boy considering how much she loves technology and engineering. I guess God decided otherwise.”Sumire nods. “You not getting an autograph?”“Nah.” You lean back, crossing your legs. “I mean, Cochran’s a good pilot but you know, I’m a baseball girl through and through.”“Oh yeah, that reminds me.” She snaps her fingers, reaching for her purse. “Remember that first game you took me to? The one with all the colored boys?” You nod. It really stinks that that asshat Landis won’t integrate the teams. It means nobody will ever see Satchel Paige strikeout Babe Ruth.“Yeah, I remember you falling asleep after the 2nd inning.”She shrugs. “Baseball’s boring, what can I say?” She grins a bit, then pulls out a baseball. “Here you go. That one’s for you.”A baseball? You can get one of these at any store. You start turning it around. What’s so special about… is that Satchel Paige’s signature? Satchel Paige, one of the greatest pitchers in the game!? You narrow your eyes. It is. Your heart starts racing. How did-> “Come on, I didn’t eat anything and I don’t have anymore money!”You blink. > “Words cannot describe how much I love you right now.”You shake your heads. “I can’t put into words how much I love you right now.” Sumire guffaws, gently pushing you away. Nope, nope. You take her in a tight hug and give her a big kiss on the cheek. “This is such an amazing gift, Sumire! But it’s so much, you shouldn’t have!”She rolls her eyes, you still holding onto her. “Ah, well, I figure I should brownnose you a little. You’re the girl that did recommend how much I get paid you know.” You plant two fingers on the spot you kissed her, then gently push her away. “Ha! Seriously, don’t mention it. I mean, it wasn’t like it cost that much.”“… how much?”“… 200 bucks.”Wow. She willingly spent two-hundred dollars on a baseball just for you? Huh, the guy that sold this thing must have really gypped her. “Still. Thanks, Sumire. I’m not giving you back the ball if that’s what you think.” She holds her hands up defensively. “… but seriously, thanks so much. This really means a lot. I don’t know how to put it into words.”She snaps her fingers. “If you think that’s bad.” She reaches into her purse, and produces another baseball. “Check this one out.” You nearly have a heart attack. That one’s signed by Josh Gibson! “This one’s for Rana when we get back to our bunks.”“You’ve got a generosity streak going on,” you say. You smile. “I like it.”She huffs. “I hate it. I hate not having money to burn.” She crosses her arms, pouting a bit. “So cherish that gift well. Otherwise I can sell it for twice the money I bought it for.” You smirk a little, giggling as you put the ball into your purse.“Guys, guys!” Rana runs up the bleachers again. “I got her autograph, I got her autograph, look!” Rana holds up her hat, now emblazoned with Jackie Cochran’s signature. “Oooh! I’m so excited! I can’t stand it!”You check your watch. About 5 to 6 actually. It’s just about time to go. You look over at Sumire knowingly, and she nods back, grinning. Rana’s in for a surprise.1/2
>>42464961[2/2]--The SSO provided you with an apartment to stay in for the evening until tomorrow morning when you need to leave for India. For now, it was barebones, barren of most extraneous furniture, with plain white wallpaper, with two bedrooms. Clearly you’re going to have to sleep on the couch. “I’ll get to making some dinner.” Rana and Sumire smile, deciding to turn on the radio and pull out some cards to play while you get the ovens running. As you put on your apron and put the pot on, Kirby appears again. “Liberty.”“Kirby.” You look over at him. “I thought you were busy.”“I am. But I have decided to check on you again. I know that Shard in your chest must not be very comfortable.”“Oh no, it’s like having the debilitating weakness I always wanted. Next time you can give me polio so I can roll around in a wheelchair like FDR.” Kirby tilts his head. “Don’t give me that look, everyone knows he’s a cripple.”“Very well. Do give me your honest opinion however. Is it really that much of a weakness?”> “Not really. I just have to be more careful.”> “The sooner it comes out the better.”> “Nah. I hardly notice it.”> Other

> “The sooner it comes out the better.”“The sooner it comes out the better.” You fill the pot up with some water and start boiling it. Some spaghetti would be good today. “I can’t run around with what is essentially an off button on my chest. It’s… it’s really hard to accept, Kirby.” You place your hands on your hips, staring straight at him. What else can you say really?Kirby nods. “I understand. If it makes you feel better, we will find a way to get it out of your body without killing you. Until then, I will have to maintain limited contact. Do take care.” He disappears again. You sigh. Might as well get the sauce ready. After a healthy amount of work and a sweat breaking time trying to get the noodles good and floppy, you’ve got three plates of spaghetti. You put them down on the coffee table for Rana and Sumire. “Awesome!” Rana grins, happily suckling away at the noodles.Sumire twirls her fork as she watches you eat. “You ever think of teaching someone how to cook?”“I tried to.” You look directly at her. “Don’t you remember?”“… hey the fire department said it was okay,” Sumire mutters.“What was that?” asks Rana.“Nothing,” you both say. “Oh, Rana!” Sumire reaches into her purse. “I got a gift for you.” Rana leans over, blinking in surprise. “Ta-da! A Josh Gibson signed ball!” Rana stares blankly at Sumire. “You do not want to know how much it cost me to get it but well… Here you go!” Sumire drops it Rana’s hand, and she stares at it in complete shock.…Sumire tilts her head. “Are you okay?” Rana flops over onto her back. She’s fainted. You look at her. “You couldn’t have waited until after dinner?”[1/2]
>>42465590[2/2]--The radio blares late night music as you settle onto the couch. For now you put Rana to bed after her faint pretty much knocked her out. And as for Sumire, she’s busy changing into a nightgown for bed. You yourself have already changed into a new fresh one, your old one got ruined during the mission to China. Regrettable, but a risk you suppose when you bring your favorite fashion items. You sigh, crossing your arms as you lie underneath the blanket.Weakness.No, don’t think about that. Think about something else, think about…Sumire.Oh, hell no. If she found out you were thinking about her while you sleep, you’d never hear the end of it. You STILL never hear the end of how you bought her matching swimsuits for you and her.You sigh. Still, it was really nice of her to get that ball for you. You really should pay her back for it somehow.Sumire opens the door to her bedroom, leaning out, yawning. “Heading to bed, Libby?”“Yeah.”She looks at you, skeptically. “… on the couch?”“Yeah.”She crosses her arms. “Well, why don’t you share oneesama’s bed?” She leans her head over your own, looking down on you with the smuggest grin you have ever seen. “We can cuddle together and I can warm you with my sisterly touch!”“No.” You turn over, facing the upholstery. “Besides, you’re always the big spoon, it’s not fair.”“Of course it is, I’m a year older,” she says.“You sure don’t act like it.”She scoffs. “Well, my bed’s open if you need it.” She walks back into her bedroom.… Year older than you, what crud.> Fine, just this once, share the night with Sumire.> Forget that, Rana’s always receptive to sharing a bed.> Sleep on the couch. > Fine, just this once, share the night with Sumire. You snuggle underneath Sumire’s sheets, trying not to wake her. No movement from her. Good, good. Alright, maybe now you can get some peace and quiet.Nope. She wraps her arm around you, and pulls you in tight. “Hmmhmmm, I found my teddy bear!” She snuggles her nose into the back of your neck. “Smells so nice.” She giggles a bit, and you can’t help but feel completely embarrassed. This was a stupid mistake. “Good night, Libby.”“Good night, Sumire.” You grumble that out. Fine, fine.Tomorrow morning is a new day, the hunt for Doctor Kalbflesicher. You might as well get as much sleep as you can. Still feels nice getting to sleep with Sumire at least, but you’re never going to let her know that, no sir.--You’re already on the flight to Calcutta, India. Thankfully, the plane this time takes a wide berth away from Japan and on its way down to the nitty and gritty British state of India. Hopefully there you can find what you’re looking for but for now, you’re stuck on a noisy DC-3 with Rana having to share a seat with a colored gentleman.Rana looks over at him. “… so um. You like airplanes?”He looks back, annoyed. “Do you mind? I’m trying to read the news, Miss.”Rana clears her throat. “S-… sorry.” She quickly goes back to reading her book, mortified.Sumire crosses her arms, leaning back and looking out the window. “So what’s a Nazi doing in Calcutta anyway?” You’re about to tell her to keep her voice down when you realize that over the sound of the engine, people can’t hear you anyway.“According to #5, he was sent down there to investigate diseases affecting the Indian people as compared to the British population,” you say. “But of course we know he’s probably butchering innocent people down there for the sake of science. You know how Nazis are.”Sumire shrugs. “I suppose.”[1/2]
>>42466249[2/2]The plane finally lands, and the three of you step off of your plane, grab your luggage and move down the dusty and worn out airport to the taxi lanes. Not exactly the most civilized place Calcutta, but even the British have their limits. You flag down a taxi. “Taxi!” you yell. It quickly pulls over, big enough for three of you. Well, sort of. It’s kind of cramped, and you’re skin to skin rubbing up against Rana and Sumire. But it’s something. “Hey, take us downtown, I’ll show you where.”“Ohoho, Lady Liberty…” You blink. Oh no. You look down at the Taxi Driver’s ID. Oh God No. Knives looks back, gripping the steering wheel. She grins widely, licking her teeth. Rana and Sumire sit shocked, unable to respond. No, no, this isn’t happening. She leans over, her lips nearly caressing yours. “This is my car, Liberty, and my car, my rules.”--You jolt awake, shaking, sweating. “Ah! Ah!” You grip your heart, grimacing in pain. Sumire groans, waking up along with you. “Oh, Sumire… Su- Oh dang it, I’m sorry. It’s just a nightmare. There was this taxi and it had Knives and I-“She gently wraps her arm around you and pulls you closer. “Go back to sleep,” she growls. Her eyes are already shut, and quickly she’s off to dreamland.…Okay.
