Optioned down to Supply and Logistics due to sudden increasing burn out of magic and chronic rage issues affecting teamwork.Corporal Rosetta Abascal – M3 75mm GMCNorth Africa veteran with good amount of service despite having to use an obsolete platform. Incredible speed and agility has been noted. Optioned down to Supply and Logistics due to constant thievery.Corporal Greta von Eisen – Panzerjager Tiger (P) “Elefant”Reserve witch with noted incredibly slow speed and slow adaptability to circumstances. Optioned to Reserve due to these flaws.Corporal Aurelia Meszaros IV – 40M NimrodReserve witch with noted sharpshooting abilities towards sky targets, but lacking ability to project shields above chest height. Optioned to Reserve due to these flaws. And as for you? Damn it, you weren’t even going to look at yours. The five of you were all outside, early in the morning, even before the sun rose. And out here, they were all crawling through the mud, leaping over barrels, and sparring with each other while you read through everyone’s files. Everyone seemed to be in the agreement that you would be one to keep all the records. This meant of course having to listen to Greta claim that she once killed three Neuroi tank drones with one shot, or Aurelia having taken down a carrier with nothing but a penknife and gumption. That wasn’t fun, but they could make a story seem real at least, so lying is definitely one of their pluses.[1/2]
>>42169711[2/2]You sat on a barrel, trenchcoat around your shoulders and coffee in your lap as you read through the files of everyone, what made them tick, what made them work. You grabbed some copies out of Lieutenant den Dekker’s files, and so far those small summaries are all you’ve got of them. It’s going to be all morning before you learn everything about them!Suddenly, the wind blows all the papers out of your hands and onto the wet, slick runway. Oh great. Then a King Tiger rolls right over the papers, smashing them into the pavement.… ah.Well, good thing those were copies. You better not tell Lieutenant den Dekker what happened to them. The reason you were all up training early today was because after breakfast, Colonel Hessler and Captain Kelly would be evaluating the lot of you to see who would best be the section leader. That meant a promotion to Sergeant and getting to lead the 130th Joint Combat Team into battle. Glorious battle! You shudder happily thinking about it. Oh goodness…“Can we stop!?” You look over at Greta, as she struggles to pull her feet up through the heavy snow and ice. “I can’t even move!”Rascal simply jogs past her, seeming to walk on top of the snow. “Lazy.” Greta glares at her as she runs off.> “Come on, I’ll help you!”> “Fine, we can stop.”> ENGAGE ANGRY SUPPLY FOREMAN MODE> Other

> “Come on, I’ll help you!”You drop off the barrel and stomp through the snow behind her. “Alright, Greta! I’ll help you!” You step behind her and put your hands on her back. Immediately, you regret it because that body armor of hers is really fucking cold. “Ow!” You pull your hands back, if you left your skin on it any longer it might’ve fused to the metal! “What’s with that armor anyway!?”“Shut up!” she says. “My Daddy used this armor to fight the Neuroi in the Great War!” She pats it with a conspicuously gloved hand. “And I will wear it just as he did!” She bends over, hands out in front. “Now push!”Ugh. You clamp your hands into fists then push hard on her, shoving her through the snow with all the speed of a lame snail. The packed snow kicks up and parts away as you move Greta through. And at that moment, Aurelia walks over. “Ohoho, looks like the little Karlslander is having trouble with a little bit of snow!”“Why you little!” Greta tries to jump up, only to trip and fall face first into the snow. Aurelia laughs nobly as she walks away, stretching out and rolling her arms as she cools down from her exercising. “Ffafggg!” she screams into the snow. You place your hands on your hips, sighing. “Listen, maybe you should try and just go for a jog or something. Your lack of speed is a weakness, you know that right?” Greta stands up, dusting herself off and staring down on you. “… just saying.”“Unlike you, little peasant, I am a woman of specialty. I have the eyes of an eagle and the body of a Karlslander, that does not mean I can go particularly fast.” She places her hands on her hips, turning her nose up and scoffing at you. “Now if you excuse me, I must go and practice my shooting!” She pulls her legs up and starts stomping through the snow again, only to fall over into the snow again.[1/2]
>>42170447[2/2]Ugh. You look over at Thornycroft and Rascal. Rascal smirks a bit as she tosses a snowball in Thorn’s direction. Thorn screams, shovels up a huge helping of snow and proceeds to charge at a now fleeing Rascal. You look over at Aurelia, who uses an improvised pitching machine to launch baseballs at her. All this results in are baseballs flying right into her chest, at her arms, and near her head as she fails to make shields above her chest line. What a grand unit this is.> Go make breakfast, it’s not like they’ll do it on their own.> Report to Captain Kelly and Colonel Hessler regarding their performances.> Go warm up on your own, you don’t need their help.> Other

> Go make breakfast, it’s not like they’ll do it on their own.Sheesh. Might as well go make breakfast. You move back to the hangar, then open up a crate of food. Let’s see, beans, bread, oooh! Soda! You snap the bottlecap off the edge of the crate and then take a hearty chug of it. Soda in the morning may not be healthy, but it sure tastes delicious! You toss the empty bottle away then get a fire going.Hm. Maybe they have some spices around here.--“Ugh!” Greta, Thorn, Rascal, and Aurelia walk back in, covered in dirt and muck like last night. “This training business is really going to- Oh my goodness.” Everyone pauses you as you present them a bowl of hot soup. “Oh, thank you!” Greta smiles, happily going to her bed and taking neat little sips with her spoon.“How’d you make this?” asks Thorn.“It was just lying around,” you say. “Anyway, we better eat well because I don’t think they’re going to let up on us during those tests.”“Nope!” Aurelia chuckles. “Hohoho, you lot are going to get pounded into dust by whatever the good Colonel has to offer you.” She looks over at Greta. “Our little Queen of the Krauts included.”“Hey, we owned your country a couple of decades ago!” yells Greta. “Show some respect!” Aurelia simply rolls her eyes, slurping up her soup. “Don’t roll your eyes at me!”Rascal grunts. “Thanks for the breakfast anyway.” She takes a quick slurp, drinking it all in one go. “More please.” You blink, shaking her head. “That’s fine.” She simply takes another bowl of soup… even though you only cooked five. Did she take yours- no she didn’t, where did she get that other one!?Thorn grumbles. “The attitude of those girls,” she says as she leads you away from the three. “Why, in my day, we would’ve pounded it right out of them and turned them into good soldiers!” She thumps her chest, shutting her eyes in a grimace. “Oh, how I wish I could go back to them.” She hisses. “But I’m instead I’m stuck here.”[1/2]

You look over at Rascal, who is already on her third helping. “I’m more of a football fan,” she says quickly. Damn it. You look down. Nobody on this team likes baseball except you. If only you had Grease Monkey around. The hangar doors fly open quickly. “Bright and early!” yells Captain Kelly. You all stand at attention quickly. “It’s time for your evaluations!” She snaps her fingers. “Doc!” Doc slides in next to her, grinning madly. “Doc here will be giving you first a physical examination.” She slides on a rubber glove, snapping it taut around her wrist. You all flinch as she snaps another glove on. “Doc, by your leave.”Oh no, a physical!--You all sit on one bed, you’re crushed between Thorn and Greta, who still insists on wearing the armor and the helmet. Those physicals were not fun.[1/2]

Greta has her near indestructible shields and her ability to stand ground under any circumstance, and Aurelia has her super sight.”“I see.” You smile, crossing your arms.“So. You sigh. Great. “Alright. I believe that will be it for the personal stuff.” She shuts the folder, smiling at the five of you. “Now, the real tests can begin.” You all grin happily. Now is the time to show your stuff! “Colonel Hessler!”You all turn around and quickly stand at attention as Colonel Hessler walks in. “Captain.” She stands up as well. “Girls.” All eyes are on her now. “First thing’s first, I hope you all have been settling in with each other in the 130th Joint Combat Team. You will be seeing a lot of each other in the coming months, perhaps years as we fight the Neuroi threat. You must rely on the girl next to you, even if she may not rely on you.” She places her hands behind her back. “First thing’s first, who would like to be the Section Leader?”You all raise your hands.“Right, it’s not that simple.” She looks over. “Captain Kelly.”Captain Kelly smiles, keeping her pipe hanging between her lips. “Riiiight…” She flips through a notebook. “Me and Colonel Hessler have been looking through your files so far. So far, things do not look good.” You all frown. “Quite the black marks on some of your records, except for the Kid of course.” They all look over at you, and you can’t help but feel a foot smaller now even as they praise you. “I want a look at each and every one of you personally, without fear of interference. So we will do this privately.” Everyone swallows nervously. “Would anyone like to volunteer?”[1/2]
>>42173986[2/2]Everyone but you steps back. The Colonel and the Captain look to you. “Kid.” You look around, then point at yourself. “Yes, you,” says Captain Kelly. “Come on then.”You look back at everyone, who look back at you forlornly as you walk away from them. Really nice to know they have your back. Real nice.--The three of you are in front of the Command hangar, and you watch as the tanks roll by. “I hear you are a fan of baseball,” says Colonel Hessler. You blink.“Well, yeah, I am!” You grin happily. “Dodgers fan, born and raised! What team do you root for?” you ask, probably a bit too soon.“I don’t follow baseball,” she says. Oh. You purse your lips. Okay, spoke too soon. “However. We would like for you to let yourself be natural, casual in a sense. We don’t want to unduly stress you during something like this.” She places her hands on her hips. “I noticed you wear a skirt actually.”You pull it up a bit, frowning. “Is that a problem?”“Well, are you wearing trousers?”“Um, well…” You blush a little bit. “I mean- I like my skirt but if you want to see my trousers it’s fine but uh…” You cough. “Yeah, no, it’s fine, it’s just- I have poor fashion sense so… you don’t want to see what I have under my skirt.” Captain Kelly and Colonel Hessler glance at each other. Ugh. When do we get to the fighting!?“Hm.” Colonel Hessler nods. “Very well.” She reaches into her coat pocket, then pulls out a baseball. “Here.” She tosses you the ball, and you catch it open handed bare handed. “Let’s play catch.”…> “Is this a test?”> “Okay!”> “Um. > “Okay!”You grin widely, nodding violently. “Okay! Okay! Uh, go long!” You take a few steps back as Colonel Hessler finds a good spot to catch your balls, good distance away. Alright! You give it a good lob up into the air, and it goes smack into the meat of her hands. She quickly flaps her hand, pursing her lips a bit. “Yeah, usually you play catch with gloves!”She nods. “It’s fine.” She throws the ball to you now, and it almost lands just short of you. She might not have your throwing arm. Oh well. You step a bit closer, then toss the ball to her again. This time, she catches it with both hands, a bit of a softer approach. “Here, let me throw a little harder!” She does a natural pump of the leg, then throws it. Before you can react, you move your arm into the way, but not your hands. It bounces off your arm. “Sorry.”“It’s okay!” You rub your arm, then notice Captain Kelly’s cast on her own arm. Nah, nothing compared to hers. You pick the ball up.“Throw it hard at me, hard as you can!”Oh, oh this is a test! A test of shield strength is it? You go into the wind up, time to give her your four-seamer. You pitch the ball hard as you can. And before you know it, the ball deflects of her natural shield, bouncing back to you. The shield fades away quickly, but her ears and her tail remain. You grab the ball, then lob it back to her, her turn. “Alright, give me the business!”“Are you sure?” she asks, tilting her head. You nod. “Okay.” She cocks her arm back, then throws. Now! Shield![1/3]
>>42175261[2/3]It whacks off your chest. “Agh! Fuck!” You barrel over into the snow, groaning as the sharp pain reaches all through your chest. Captain Kelly and Colonel Hessler walk over. “Ugh… that hurt. That hurt so bad…” you squeak.Colonel Hessler nods. “You can’t generate shields.”“I can… they’re just really weak,” you groan. You struggle to get back your footing. “Ugh. Doesn’t my file say that anyway?”“It does, but I wanted to see it myself. Sorry if I injured you.” She picks up the baseball, then places it back in your hand. “But you realize how grave of a weakness this is, right?” You nod, concernedly. “If you were made Section Leader, you would have very little defense against any Neuroi that would attack you. I am actually quite surprised you even made it this far in the fights you participated in.”You shrug. “Call it luck.”“Hmph. Luck.” Captain Kelly smiles at you. “Well, go ahead and go back to the Hangar, Kid. For now, your test is over. Call up one of the other girls.” You bite your lip. “This doesn’t mean you failed. It just means we have something to consider.” You nod, turning around, fidgeting with the ball in your hands.--The other girls have already gone through their tests so far as you bounce the ball off the wall, off the ground, and back into your baseball glove. But they’ve already gone to lunch now, and despite their invitations, you decided to stay put here in the Hangar. You don’t feel hungry. Not at all.
>>42175293[3/3]“Hey.” You look over to the entrance to see Greta, looking at you with some amount of contempt. “Are you not going to eat? You’re nothing but skin and bones.” She pats her armored belly. “Men and women alike love Witches with a little bit of meat on their bones!” she says.“No thanks.” You go back to playing catch with yourself. She stares at you, then walks over. “Are you really being this sullen over something as simple as a Section Leader placement?” She scoffs a bit. “Ha!” She places her hand over her heart. “Of course, we all know I’m going to be our leader, considering my experience. But there’s no reason to be sad, I will take the role seriously!”You grunt. You really just want her to go away.“… Hey. No reason to be upset.” She places her hands on her hips, looking down on you with a little more concern. She kneels down next to you as you play catch with yourself. “… you wanna my armor?”“Huh?” You miss the last bounce, and the ball nearly beans you in the head. “What?”“Well, when I feel sad.” She pats her armor, smiling. “I just curl up in my thick hide! Wine! “I was saving this for myself when I would be promoted, but I suppose just this once-““Mine!” Thorn takes it and pops the cap.“Hey!” Greta reaches over. “Give me!”“Get your own!”Aurelia clears her throat, stopping them. “I believe the new Sergeant will have the first taste.” Thorn grumbles, holding it out to you. “So, congratulations, Sergeant. I hope that despite your lack of experience, you will be able to lead us to victory against the Neuroi.”Thorn nods. “Yeah. We’ll stick it to Roy right up his arse. Just give us the word.”You nod, tipping the bottle up and taking in the sweet taste of alcohol. You’re probably a bit too young for this, but who cares now? You’re a Sergeant! You hand the bottle off to Aurelia, it being her bottle. She takes a quick swig, then Greta immediately swipes it from her.“So, Sergeant.” Thorn leans over, smiling. “We may not be deployed for a while just yet, but you think you can handle leading us rabble around?”[1/2]

So it’s plenty of time for me to get to know each and every one of you.” They all smile at you, happily. “Now, let’s drink, get some goose in our bellies before we go to sleep, alright!”Greta burps loudly. “Oh, pardon!” She thumps her chest, it banging against the armor.“Oh, now look at you did, you almost drank the entire thing!” Thorn takes it. “Almost none left!” She takes a swig of it, then hands it off to Rascal. “Honestly, you ever heard of sharing?” Rascal hands her a full bottle. “Thanks, Rascal, and you-“You all look over at Rascal, who is busy drinking up a large bottle of wine. Her lips pop the minute she stops, and she sighs deeply. She looks at all. “I got more.”Greta and Thorn look at each other, then back at you.You sigh. “Just this once.” You take a bottle from Rascal, then hold it up in the air. “To victory!”“To Victory!”
