Previous Threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Happening%20Skyline%20QuestYou heard Jack calling from the other side of the door, so you went to him.You have entered the Intersection, but there is no one here. Please, suggest an action.
>>41944447There used to be a bloodstain on the opposite wall, wasn't there? Are there any signs of recent movement in this room? Disturbed dust on the floor? What about that bottle on the table? What's it labeled as? Are the drinking glasses arranged symetrically?
>>41944447Wait, this room looks... Oh it's probably nothing. Jack must be around here somewhere. Yeah, that's logical. Did he leave a note on that table? Or something to indicate where he went?
> There used to be a bloodstain on the opposite wall, wasn't there?Yes, and there was also no table in the corner. You find that… odd. Last time you checked this ship had no signs of an operating corpse cleaning service.> Are there any signs of recent movement in this room? Disturbed dust on the floor? The floor looks clean and not dusty in the least.> What about that bottle on the table? What's it labeled as? Are the drinking glasses arranged symetrically? The bottle has a generic brand of soda marked on it, and it certainly seems to be a completely normal bottle of soda. The drinking glasses seem to be arranged in no particular fashion, one of them even having a little soda inside it, still.>Did he leave a note on that table? Or something to indicate where he went? There is nothing here indicating where Jack went. Strange, he seemed to be right behind the door.
>>41944685Evidently the room changed before you entered. Look through all the doors and see if the adjacent rooms are different.
>>41944685Oh. Well I guess we can have some soda while we wait. If there's only one cup with a bit left in it, then someone else must already have tried it. Since there's no corpses, it must be safe. Pour some. Then if Jack shows back up we can offer him some soda from the cup of soda we will not ever be drinking ourselves, ever, no, never.
> Look through all the doors and see if the adjacent rooms are different. You take a quick peek in each door. The cockpit looks like it has people in it! The others rooms too! They seem to be normal, though you can’t tell if the rooms are like before, since you’ve only seen the cockpit before. The cockpit looks normal, though.>Pour some sodaYou put some soda in one of the seemingly unused cups. You do not take a sip of it yet.
>>41945014Ok, go talk to the people in the cockpit. I am sure nothing bad can come off it
>>41945014Ask if anyone has seen Jack. Also ask what time it is.
>>41945014Wait stop wait no. Other people? Multiple people? No large green tentacly monsters hungry for blood? And they aren't committing suicide or mumbling about how they refuse to go back?Uh. I guess we'll carry our soda along and go to the cockpit. Is Anderson there this time? Maybe one of them have seen Jack. They work on the same ship.
>Talk to the people in the cockpit>Ask if anyone has seen Jack. You enter the cockpit. Uhh… Those two people don’t really seem… They… They make your head hurt when you look at them. The bird, however, doesn’t seem to have this problem.“Slow down on the engines, we are stopping in fifteen. Tim, you doing alright? Great, don’t want anyone sick today, so warn me if you need any replacement. It’s ok. Laura told me you were sick. No worries, though. From here on now, we just wait for the folks on engineering.”The bird seems to be the captain. His voice is calm, smooth and controlled. You wonder if you should ask him about Jack, though. He looks occupied. You don't really think you could ask the two grey figures anything.
>>41945448huh, he seems nicely relaxed. If they're stopping in 15 it might be smarter to check Engineering!. Check out the starfield for any conspicous visual hallucinations, then head to Engineering.
>>41945448Check the left door, that was the closet right.
>Check out the starfield for any conspicous visual hallucinations, then head to Engineering. There seem to be no halucinations today, however, as you enter the door to engineering, you meet more of the grey people. They give you a headache, so you continue moving towards the door on the end of the corridor.[Cont.]
You enter Engineering.Anderson seems to be without his glasses.
>>41945811The image to this post, which I forgot.
>>41945863Oh, hey Anderson.(Don't say his name, he might get suspicious.)How are things going on the ship? By the way, what does your computer's clock say it is? I think mine might be off.
>>41945927Wait what?Corridor? What happened to the intersection? Which door did we leave through from F.Deck?
>>41945863...what does the south guy look like? A mouse?
>>41946018You left by the southern door. You then entered the Engineering door. You passed throught that corridor to reach the room you are now.>>41946037Yes, a mouse.
>>41945863Walk north and look down the giant hole.
>>41945994Yes perfect.Oh, and I'm asking because the captain said we're stopping 15.Stopping what? What kind of engine are we running here anyhow, you know, out of curiousity?
>>41945863See what the suicidal armadillo's screens say.
Anderson looks friendly.>How are things going on the ship? He tells you that it is all going wonderful. The new Engine is working as intended, like clockwork.>By the way, what does your computer's clock say it is? I think mine might be off.Strange, he tells you. He says that it is 16:35, and that all clocks on the ship should be syncronized. He tells you he will send someone to check it out.>look down the giant hole. You see only darkness, but you feel a breeze and hear a slight humming from below.>Oh, and I'm asking because the captain said we're stopping in 15.>What kind of engine are we running here anyhow, you know, out of curiousity? He says that he can't tell you that. It is top-secret.>See what the suicidal armadillo's screens say. From what you can see from here it seems to be nothing but uninteligible symbles. In fact, the monitors in the corridor also seemsd to only have weird symbles on them.Anderson says that he didn't catch your name. In fact, he doesn't remember seeing you in this ship before. He tells you that his name is Anderson, and that the two hard-working lads beside him are called Simon and Luke.
>>41945863And without his red cane, either?
>>41946267I guess we could introduce ourselves as Ellie, the ship's new... do we have any special skills that could be useful on a ship? Also, we were asking about the day of the year. We just transferred here recently, and the journey has us a little disoriented.
>>41946267Funny, I haven't seen you before either haha, ha... first time in Engineering.Ask Luke if he's excited to find out what's at our destination.
>>41946338Just claim to be weapons specialist, Jack...ie.Jack never met Anderson before either.
> I guess we could introduce ourselves as Ellie, the ship's new... do we have any special skills that could be useful on a ship?We know how to cook minute noodles in under a minute. And how to keep a fifty year old ship that has been passed by your father to you in top shape. Though you think that last part would make a part of Engineering personnel, so you don’t say that. You introduce yourself simply as Ellie.>Also, we were asking about the day of the year. We just transferred here recently, and the journey has us a little disoriented.“Ah, a first timer on warp-travel! Funny, thought the Captain would have requested only experienced people for this. Well, everything has an exception, I guess. And, really, for this next part, every one here is a first timer. It is March 21, 2132.”>Ask Luke if he's excited to find out what's at our destination. The mouse turns you you, excited. Of course, he says. Being one of the first to reach Andromeda… Nothing can beat that.Anderson asks you if you have anything else to say, since they must get ready for the next part of the flight.
>>41946267A top secret engine? Oh, spiffy! Yeah you don't know much about that, thanks for explaining Anderson.--Great. Monsters and power shortages and time echo displaced ghosts and monsters and experimental space travel engines. This is turning out to be a real fun sort of week.
>>41946551>ask him about that>specifically that "this next part""Yeah, just - what next part?"
>>41946551Just, what's that red stuff called? And should I brace myself for this next part?
>>41946551This is embarrassing, but. Do you remember how to reach that intersection where they have the soda on the table setup?
>"Yeah, just - what next part?"A little nervous, are you? No need to worry, it has been thoroughly tested and is completely safe, he assures you. He can’t give you details, as your contract with the Company probably stated, but he tells it should be over in an instant. He does recommend that you find somewhere to sit, though.>Just, what's that red stuff called? You really are interested, aren’t you? Well, that red stuff is a Fermionic Isolation Liquid. It allows for the creation and containment of incredibly strong electromagnetic fields, which allows us to bend other molecular forces to create-The mouse interrupts him. Luke tells him he is getting excited and revealing too much, again. He agrees, after a moment, and tells you that he can’t say more.>And should I brace myself for this next part?He recommends that you be sitting, since it may cause a small disorientation. Really, though, he can’t be sure. You are the first people to try it, after all.>This is embarrassing, but. Do you remember how to reach that intersection where they have the soda on the table setup?Right back through the way you came, of course. That door behind you. It should take you to the corridor where the engine operators are and from there to the intersection. He says that it was good to meet such a young spirit, but that they have to hurry. He tells Simon to go to the main engine, to check if the shutdown is going as planned. He tells Luke to follow him, and both enter the door labeled S-Drive.The armadillo heads towards the hatch, and as he opens it, you hear a click that echoes through your mind. He gives you a small smile, before going down the hatch. And now you are alone.
>>41946801Look into the south door.
>>41946801I like this Anderson - he is very helpful and informative. I dislike the fact that we've apparently managed to get ourselves locked into the quantum time-loop of whatever in Heidegger's hairy armpits is going on here.
>Look into the south door.It asks you for an access card. You don't have any of those. In fact, you notice with no small amount of apprehension, none of your inventory seems to be with you.Well, except the cup of soda you picked up earlier.
>>41946959Well, shit, so much for taking out the broken table legs to compare them against the non-broken table and testing time paradoxes.See if you can follow down the hatch Simon went down?If not, try going through the not-bloody-anymore-door.
>>41946959Worryingly wonder why the doorway to engineering used to request a card too, but not this time.
>>41946959Try and recall the date from your own ship.
>>41946959Which we still haven't had, right? Because we poured that for exactly this time-loop quantum phase testing reason, and if we ingest the evidence matter we're more screwed than we already are by monsters and the casual violation of, err, casuality. Why did the click echo through our head anyway? We could pour the soda down the engine access chute. No, that's a silly idea. I'm not sure how to proceed. Check out the beyond of the no longer bloody door?
>Which we still haven't had, right?Right>Try and recall the date from your own ship.As far as you know, it is October 26, 2139.>See if you can follow down the hatch Simon went down?He seems to have locked it behind him. Funny, when he opened it made such noise, but you didn’t hear him closing it.>Worryingly wonder why the doorway to engineering used to request a card too, but not this time.Yeah, you did find that weird.>If not, try going through the not-bloody-anymore-doorYou walk through the door, yet you feel as if you were moving much more than a few inches. It was almost as if you walked through another long corridor. You arrive to see two people having a conversation.“-He is a curious case. If he doesn’t take his medicine, his mind doesn’t fix the information he obtained. He takes it, he will remember the previous five hours of his life. If he doesn’t, it he keeps on going, remembering only the last five hours counting from the current moment. He takes it again, the previous five hours are stored, but the in-between is gone.”The girl stops the Tapir when she sees you. “Ah, Doctor Prince?”The man turns to you, seemingly embarrassed.“Ah, hello? I don’t believe I had anyone scheduled for this time.”
>>41947175...five hours.Jack said he couldn't remember anything except right before activating the drive. He only remembered being inside the closet for "hours."
>>41947175I was supposed to get something to eat with my friend Jack, but he didn't show up. I can't find him, have you seen him?
Ellie doesn't know this, but Jack found this note. There's a third level of fuckery here, even in flashback Anderson is smiling. If in a genuinely happy way and not sinister.
is... is something compressing the corridors of the ship?It looked really big when we docked, and everyone keeps not having met each other despite this being a pretty small ship *to us*. If it was actually way bigger it would explain why people haven't met. I think something is actively re-arranging "corridors" and "un-used space" so we skip past the inter-weening sections, which also explains why it the umbellical cord connection to our own ship disappeared.
>I was supposed to get something to eat with my friend Jack, but he didn't show up. I can't find him, have you seen him?The tapir stops and looks at you with suspicion, before relenting and telling you that, if it is the Jack he knows, then he should be at his workstation, in the weapon’s bay.
>>41947175Something's seeming weird, doc. I keep getting lost in the ship, and I thought I saw a beast, or something, which is impossible, right? Can I sit down a bit?
>>41947357Weird, I thought he was... never mind. Can I get a drink of water? I'm getting anxious about this drive no one can explain that we're about to activate.I mean that Anderson guy seems real nice and friendly but the company's NDA's bind his tongue.
>>41947357What does a ship need so many weapons for anyway on this science mission.
>>41947325Intervening sections? And yeah, we know doors keep leading to different places and rooms keep changing in size. But here even with time fuckery this place seems only a little bigger than before. And we just lost the corridor leading to the psych office.
>Something's seeming weird, doc. I keep getting lost in the ship, and I thought I saw a beast, or something, which is impossible, right? Can I sit down a bit?He stops, then asks the dog-girl behind him, Synthia, to go into his room for a bit.He looks at you more seriously this time. He sits with you and asks you to explain exactly what is wrong. Sometimes people get disorientated, but sometimes it may be more than that. He tells you that it is nothing to be ashamed of. Things like that can happen to anyone.>Can I get a drink of water? I'm getting anxious about this drive no one can explain that we're about to activate.>I mean that Anderson guy seems real nice and friendly but the company's NDA's bind his tongue. He calmly explains that he also doesn’t know what exactly the drive is, since only few people have been informed. He also tells you that it is nothing to be scared of, that it is just a new technology. Sometimes new can be frightening. It doesn’t mean that it is dangerous.>What does a ship need so many weapons for anyway on this science mission. He tells you that Anderson and his team managed to make an engine that can take them to the Andromeda Galaxy incredibly fast. No one knows what to expect. There shouldn’t be any hostilities on the other side, but one can’t be too prepared. He tells you that they will activate the engine soon, and asks you if you wants to go to his office and wait for it to happen with him and Synthia.
>>41947632Uh, sure...Are you sure they aren't activating it already? Does that wall look like it just changed to you?
>Uh, sure...>Are you sure they aren't activating it already? Does that wall look like it just changed to you?He says that he is certain. He says that the captain will warn when it is about to happen. And that the wall seems perfectly fine.
>>41947632Wait, Anderson himself invented it?Wonder where he got his ideas from.
>>41947713You know what sorry, never mind, I really need to find Jack. I'm heading back to the intersection. Also, don't touch the purple goo.
>>41947713Flee to the cargo bay.
>You know what sorry, never mind, I really need to find Jack. I'm heading back to the intersection. You back away from the incoming darkness, apologizing on the way. He asks you to stay, tells you that he can help you. He asks you to trust him.>Also, don't touch the purple goo.He doesn’t seem to understand what you are saying.>Flee to the cargo bay.You reach the intersection, and enter the cargo bay, heart racing. You hear something bang twice against the door, then stop."Ellie, open up. It's Jack.
>>41581208 >>41947863Oh god the lights are on. How long were we missing for....Was that the exact same tone of voice and banging sound that Jack used before? Almost like the first time was just a recording, or this one is?Also INVENTORY oh god do we even have soda anymoreopen the door. again. second time's the charm.
So this was quite possibly Jack's file if he's the rolling-amnesiac.Would be a bit awkward to ask him if he takes medication though. Or reveal we think he's been not taking his medication for seven years. He probably wouldn't believe what we just experienced, either, would he?
>open the door. again. second time's the charm.Yep, that's Jack alright. Thank God.Or whatever it is that is fucking with reality over here.>INVENTORYIn the next image
>>41948014Hey, now that we have power, Jack can try and use that crane there so we can more freely move up and down to the lower level of storage. And see where those stairs lead now, if not to the intersection yet again.
Ellie has:- Butterknife- Magnet- Airvent Cover- Wooden Table Legs- Unloaded GunJack has:- Flashlight- Fire Extinguisher- Bullet
>>41948097Jack: remember that you have a locked toolbox.
Ellie has:- Butterknife- Magnet- Airvent Cover- Wooden Table Legs- Unloaded GunJack has:- Flashlight- Fire Extinguisher- Bullet- Locked Toolbox
>>41948097Ponder whether bullet+gun will be enough to kill the beast, since Jack knows where it is now. Also proceed
>>41948163Ask Jack what happened to the monster in the intersection.
>>41948097See? We picked up that soda cup FOR SCIENCE. Clear evidence trans-temporal transfers of items are IMPOSSIBLE and only states and emotional status carries over.
>Ask Jack what happened to the monster in the intersection. He tells you that he saw the monster on the room on the other side of the bloodied door.>Ponder whether bullet+gun will be enough to kill the beast, since Jack knows where it is now.It should be. The thing still looked reasonably... animal-like? Anyhow, this beauty should blow its head right off.>Also proceedTo where?
>>41948257Enter intersection. Load gun, gib loaded gun to Jack, Jack blow the monster away.Since Ellie still thinks the blood is pretty traumatizing right.
>>41948257Let's do the crane thing first. Since the controls on the other side of that door are broken, we can't go back that way, so we'll need an alternate route.
>>41948340They're repairable with the controls from inside the spare parts room, which can be pried off with BUTTERKNIFE.Always bet on butterknife.
>Enter intersection. Load gun, gib loaded gun to Jack, Jack blow the monster away. You load the gun and give it to Jack. The bloody door still makes you feel sick, but you think you can make it through, if it is quick. Maybe. However!>They're repairable with the controls from inside the spare parts room, which can be pried off with BUTTERKNIFE.You quickly go to the spare parts room and use your BUTTERKNIFE to pry off the loose door-panel from it. You go back to the intersection and fix the control, because you are all about efficiency. BAM! Door working! A master electrician is you.You wait behind Jack while he goes through the door.
>>41948468Ready butterknife and table leg to assist on killing monster.Wait, we're certain this monster is threatening, right? It's not just someone trapped in a monster body who's trying to talk to us?
>>41948499Of course, all that banging on the door we used to stop it from pursuing us was morse code! It must be so lonely.
>>41948499Well, it roared at us and bared its teeth the first time we saw it, so... probably.
>>41945014>You take a quick peek in each door. The cockpit looks like it has people in it! The others rooms too! They seem to be normal, though you can’t tell if the rooms are like before, since you’ve only seen the cockpit before.Wait, there were people in the cargo bay too back then? But, you've seen the cargo bay. You did look back through the door you came through right.
>Wait, there were people in the cargo bay too back then? You didn't really look in the cargo bay, since you had just come out of it.Jack enters and takes aim. The beast roars and shows its fangs.>Wait, we're certain this monster is threatening, right? It's not just someone trapped in a monster body who's trying to talk to us?If it is, it isn’t doing a great job on the whole communication part.
>>41948608You've only got one bullet, so be sure to make it count. Wait for when the monster isn't moving too quickly and you've got a clear shot.
Jack fires and hits. It doesn’t take more than one shot.Ellie enters the room. She had to admit that that was pretty impressing.
>>41948634We can thank modern firearms technology for this.Take a look at the body. We want to see if it's swallowed anything important and/or is going to get back up.
>>41948634Check how many doors are locked. Read the labels. It's time to see Dr. Prince again.
> Take a look at the body. We want to see if it's swallowed anything important and/or is going to get back up.It seems pretty dead. Though, considering what you’ve seen on this ship, it doesn’t mean much.>Check how many doors are locked. Read the labels. The top ones are labeled Willpower, Anger and SadnessThe first two in the bottom are shut off, and the one on the bottom right is labeled Innocence. The one in the middle-right is labeled Dr. Prince’s OfficeThe door labeled Sadness seems to react to Simon’s access card.Jack says that in here used to be huge. This part held the living quarters, the sleeping quarters, it had restaurants and bedrooms on top of bedrooms. It tad open spaces with grass and spots where you could relax when you were not working. Now all it held was seven sets of doors.
>>41948806Into sadness, then.
>>41948806Great, into a mind of madness. Delve into sadness.
>Into sadnessYou enter the door labeled Sadness.Simon Croly is here.He says that you shouldn’t take too long in here, since the bomb he built will blow up in a few minutes. You may still have a few minutes to talk, though, if you make it quick. He tells you that he thinks that you will find that note over there interesting.
>>41948940Who set up the bomb? Can Simon get out of the room? Check the note as per his instructions.
You quickly read the note.>Who set up the bomb? Can Simon get out of the room?He tells you that he was the one who set up the bomb, and that yes, he can leave the room. He simply doesn’t want to. He wants to make a test. Maybe if there is nothing left of him, there will be no way for him to come back. He doesn’t really believe it will work, but as he has already told you, something being foolish never stopped anyone from doing anything. He tells you not to worry though. He calculated the power, it will only destroy the room he is in right now. The walls in this ship are very sturdy.
>>41949073So people are coming back to life and monsters are stalking the ship.Does he have any idea what's causing this?Has he tried anything to stop or escape, and why did it fail?
>>41949073Have you seen Prince or Anderson lately? .. err, are there any other complications with your health, Simon? Also, there was a monster outside.
He tells you that they delved into the beast inside the core of the ship, the darkness from where not even light escapes. A black hole, in all its terrifying glory. The ship would cross it, then be able to come out anywhere else in the universe.Instant transportation. The ship was strong enough to leave the black hole, but the people inside it weren’t. Not fully, at least. The strongest element of the few truly remarkable people of this ship managed to escape. Yet they left a part of them there, still inside the gravity inferno. And that part is screaming at them to go back, whether they want or not. Some of the people here want to leave. Some found comfort in the shadows.>There was a monster outside.he tells you that not everyone managed to bring their bodies out unharmed. He tells you that time is short. You should probably leave. And also, remember what he unlocked for you.
>>41949189If there's no time for anything more, then say this: he can kill himself anytime, but there could be more that he could do.Then leave the room before it explodes. If he decides to stay, well, there's nothing more we can do for him.
>he can kill himself anytime, but there could be more that he could do."No, there isn't. Not for me, at least. ""I don't wait for you to see me for nothing, you know?"You leave the room and, just to be safe, get a little distance. You barely reached the intersection when you hear the explosion and feel the ground shake.
>>41949189Go check out the hatch on engineering. It is the only thing he opened for us
Whew, this thing has been going on for 7 hours. I am in dire need of sleep, so I will go do just that. If the thread is still alive when I come back I will continue on this one. If it isn't I'll create another one.Ill send a warning on twitter, @LuthQM, when I come back
>>41949466Thanks for running, you wonderful thing.
>>41949311We'd better see how much damage was done by the blast. That wasn't the only room in that corridor.
>>41949466Thanks for the game.
I'm back.>We'd better see how much damage was done by the blast. That wasn't the only room in that corridor. You go back to the corridor to check on the damage.Looks like Simon knew what he was doing. You can’t say if the room in the upper middle was damaged, but the corridor looks mostly intact.
>>41954366The thing is still smoking, so lets not try to get in there now. Check to see if any of the other doors open. If they don't, head to engineering.
>head to engineeringAfter checking that all other doors require permission to enter, you go to Engineering.Ellie is surprised. Last time she was here, it was quite different.Luke is here.
Oh, Hi.Introduce self, ask what is that thing on his hand, look for signs of madness or insanity
>>41954902Also, ask if he remembers meeting Ellie before
>Introduce self, ask what is that thing on his hand, look for signs of madness or insanityYou introduce yourselves as Ellie and Jack. He answers that his name is Luke, pleased to meet you.He says that the thing on his hand is high-potency blowtorch. He says he has some fixes to make on the core, and that he is going to need to cut through some metal. Luke seems perfectly normal and sane.>ask if he remembers meeting Ellie beforeNo, he says. This is his first time meeting you.
>>41955016That mouth seems unusual.Wish him good luck on returning things to normal.(Afterwards tell Jack about what has been happening and what we think is going on (space and time warping, people dying and coming back, etc.), then go down the hatch on the floor.)If Luke doesn't leave to where he said he would, do no let him get close to us, circle around the hole in the middle if we must.If we can, ask him what all these blue blood-vessel-looking things are.
>>41955016Well, that mostly confirms that we didn't actually change the past. It must have been some sort of shared dream memory, which is why we could only recognize certain people, most likely the people who are still around.
>If we can, ask him what all these blue blood-vessel-looking things are.He says that he doesn't know. He should probably investigate that soon.>Wish him good luck on returning things to normal. He thanks you and enters the S-Drive> tell Jack about what has been happeningTell what? The weir time-travel thing or in general? The only thing you know and Jack doesn't is that.Though Jack didn't tell Ellie much about what happened when they split up.>go down the hatch on the floorJack goes first, since it is dark down there and he is the only one with a flashlight.
You get to the bottom of the Hatch
>>41955423Well, now we know that the hatch leads to the bottom of the pit.How incredibly wonderful.Does it seem like there's a way to leave the pit there? What does that more red spit on the... floor(?) look like?
>Does it seem like there's a way to leave the pit there? No. It looks like the only way to leave the pit is through this ladder you just came down.>What does that more red spit on the... floor(?) look like? The floor seems to be a grid of metal bars, maybe to not allow anything too big to get through. The tube seems to go further down. The red that is staining the bars seems to be, if you had to guess from this distance, blood. There seems to be something on it.
>>41955626UGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHI guess we'll have to go there to get that thing on the floor, huh? Wonderful. But first, let's think, maybe we can use some of our items to reach the thing on the floor without having to step into the pit itself. How did Luke enter the pit, by the way? Did he just jump in? If so, where is he? There's supposed to be no way to leave the pit except for the way we used to get here.
>maybe we can use some of our items to reach the thing on the floor without having to step into the pit itselfYou look at your items. You can’t really think any combination of items can get whatever it is that is in there, but Ellie is open to suggestions.>How did Luke enter the pit, by the way?He didn’t. He entered the door to the right in Engineering.
>>41955836Let's use our feminine wiles, and ask if Jack'll get it for us.
>>41955836Just go and get the damn thing, if magnet+ventcover+tableleg/fireextinguisher+toolbox can't get it
>Just go and get the damn thing>Let's use our feminine wiles, and ask if Jack'll get it for us.Jack crawls through the tube. It is quite tight for him.
He makes it through the tight tube. You get a BLOODIED ACCESS CARD! It has Synthia Moore written on it.
>>41956051Now turn around and shine the light around the room to see if there's anything else there. Nothing could surely go wrong there, right?
>>41956051Ellie is probably in danger, so try to crawl towards Jack while he shines the light on you?
>>41955836Didn't you have STRING?
>Now turn around and shine the light around the room to see if there's anything else there. You assume the blood on that huge fan is from when Simon jumped in here.>Ellie is probably in danger, so try to crawl towards Jack while he shines the light on you?Ellie says she is fine, thank you very much.>Didn't you have STRING?Yes, you did. I am an idiot and was using the inventory from the beginning of last session. I apologize. It still wouldn't have helped you here.
>>41956318Go see what door this new key unlocked.
>>41956318THE LADDER SECTION IS NOW BRIGHTTHAT MEANS SOMEONE OPENED THE HATCH ON THE TOPELLIE START CRAWLING TOWARDS JACK IMMEDIATELY
>>41956383>ELLIE START CRAWLING TOWARDS JACK IMMEDIATELYEllie estarts crawlint towards jack when she notices someone has opeed the hatch."Hum, hello? Is there anyone down there?"That's Luke's voice.
I have no idea how we should respond to him, I'll leave this to you guys.
>>41956514Try and hug the least veiny part of the walls.
“Ellie, Jack, are you guys in there? I can see your flashlight from up here”>Try and hug the least veiny part of the walls.Upon closer examination, you notice that the blue “veins” seems to be shining through the metal. They don’t bulge out, instead being flush with the wall.
>>41956895Respond to Luke, tell him you were checking the bottom of the shaft.Inform him of the blood, Simon and Synthia's keycard.
>Respond to Luke, tell him you were checking the bottom of the shaft.>Inform him of the blood, Simon and Synthia's keycard. He tells you that it is ok. He says that you can keep the cards. He tells you to be more careful next time, that you don’t want Anderson catching you somewhere you shouldn’t be.He says that you can ask him if you need help with anything.
>>41957131Have you seen an old-fashioned key around? Not a keycard.
>>41957131Can you please explain to me what's going on with time and space and life in this ship in a way that's as simple to understand as completely as possible?
>Have you seen an old-fashioned key around? Not a keycard. He doesn’t remember seeing one. He says that the Captain was pretty old fashioned, though. He and Anderson, too.>Can you please explain to me what's going on with time and space and life in this ship in a way that's as simple to understand as completely as possible? He tells you that the ship is misbehaving a bit, but he and Anderson will fix her soon enough. It is nothing to worry about. Everyone will be go back in no time at all. Even those who are trying to escape.
>>41957349Does he know what's going on with Simon and where Synthia and the doc are? Also, when did Anderson start wearing glasses and using a cane?
>>41957381No, he always had the cane. It's just only visible on his sprite when he's facing to the right, because it's in his right hand. >>41946551
>>41957349Oh, great. How can we help? Also it is weird that Simon wasn't allowed into S-Drive.
>>41957349Well, there are these two doors that seem broken in the quarters area.
>>41957426Oh, whoops, I completely missed that. Good catch!
>>41957349Say goodbye, head to the corridor with the doors, maybe our new card gives us access to a new one.
>>41957349What about Andromeda?
>Does he know what's going on with Simon and where Synthia and the doc are?He says that he doesn’t.>Also, when did Anderson start wearing glasses and using a cane?He always used a cane. The glasses… came recently.>it is weird that Simon wasn't allowed into S-Drive.He… lost that privilege.> How can we help?He tells you that you don’t need to worry. They will fix everything, in time. In fact, he has to go now. He has work to do. Goodbye. He goes through the S-Drive door.
>>41957611Try the locked door in flight deck, and the innocence etc. doors.
>Try the locked door in flight deckYou head to the locked door in the flight deck and use your recently acquired Access Card on it.You have entered the Laboratory. There is no one here.
>>41957747Examine readings and tubes and ... assembly line? And a cabinet?
>>41957747What is that on the 4th wall? If closet or somesuch, take a look at computer for data, then check out cabinet or whatever.
>>41957747Ask Jack again what he remembers after they activated the drive. How long was he in the locker? How long's it been since we got him out?
>>41957747Jack: Check out the possible cabinet.Ellie: Read the screen and then look at what looks to be petri dishes to the left of it.
>Examine readings and tubes and ... assembly line? The big computer has “Chemical and Biological Analyzer – Please Insert a Sample” written on its screen.By it side is a few, seemingly clean, petri dishes. The green tube confuses Ellie, but Jack says it is a fast recovery chamber. It increases the rate that cells multiply and heal. Top of the line. If you aren’t dead, this thing can fix it in a few hours. It doesn’t seem to have been used very recently, though. It is all dusty.>Jack: Check out the possible cabinet.Jack opens the cabinet and finds nothing but a piece of cloth. He is pretty sure it is the one he was being gagged with, before he met Ellie. He pockets it.>How long was he in the locker? He doesn’t know how long he was in there. It seemed like a really long time, though. >How long's it been since we got him out?Two hours, tops.
>>41958043Take petri dishes, at least two(purple goop, monster corpse). Possibly all(blood on door and bottom of pit, or something else.
>>41958043What kind of lock does the toolbox have on it? A padlock or an internal lock?Regardless, I think we should just break the lock open with the fire extinguisher. It's got enough heft and weight even with weaker arms that it should break in a few hits.
>>41958087Try left door.
>>41958043Try placing a 'clean' petri dish in the analyzer.
>What kind of lock does the toolbox have on it? A padlock or an internal lock?Internal lock>just break the lock open with the fire extinguisherIt seems feasible, though it could make quite a bit of noise.>Try placing a 'clean' petri dish in the analyzer“No sample found.”>Take petri dishes, get samples. You take a sample of the blood on the intersection and feed it to the machine, which returns you a clean petri dish.It tells you that a DNA analysis show that it is common blood, from an armadillo. No anomalies were found. You take a sample of the blood on the monster at the sleeping quarters and feed it to the machine, which returns you a clean petri dish.It tells you that a DNA analysis show that it is common blood, from a tapir. No anomalies were found. You carefully take a sample of the purple stuff on the cargo bay, being careful to not let it touch you.The machine output the following text:“Simple bacteria, highly mutable. Shows indication for possibility of replication, seemingly gaining energy from cure and symbiosis. Large amount of carbon storage, among other elements necessary for life.Contradictory and unclear readings, please perform a manual analysis, or select the listing of the chemical compounds.”You tell Jack that you don’t know what that means, and that you don’t think that a listing of the chemical compounds will help much. Neither of you knows much of biology.Synthia says she knows a lot of it.
>>41958374Haha oh god. So Dr Prince was the beast. If you know a lot, does that mean you can...SYNTHesize medication? Also, Jack here does't remember where his keycard is, can you help with that?
>If you know a lot, does that mean you can...SYNTHesize medication? She says she can help you, but not with HIM in here.>Jack here doesn't remember where his keycard isShe says that Jack can go die in a fire for all that she cares. She won’t help him after what he did.
>>41958637Can you really blame an amnesiac for past deeds? How about if he just, turns around, and covers his ears?As you might have noticed, time and space are a bit wobbly, we don't really feel comfortable with sending him out of the room.(I guess we could send him to that one room where the ventilation shaft was, I don't think we checked that out yet, right?)Is this about Jack shooting that aggressive and hostile green creature?
>>41958637Oh great, another being separated.Jack, can you step into the flight deck.>>41958677>Can you really blame an amnesiac for past deeds?...Yes?
>>41958677>greenAlso don't insult the Doctor like that! And none of the rest of what you said makes sense. All shafts were checked.
>Can you really blame an amnesiac for past deeds? She tells you that you won’t convince her otherwise. Jack asks what do you mean by “amnesiac”?>Jack, can you step into the flight deck?Jack looks at the two of you and leaves the room.Synthia says that now you can talk. She says you can ask what you want, and that she will answer as best as she can. No, she doesn’t know anything about the engine.
>>41958860What did Jack do?
>>41958860Jack claims he doesn't remember anything after the drive was activated. Is that kind of amnesia normal?Do you have meds to fix that? Can you make heads or tails of this purple bacteria?
>>41958860I had this space suit, hanging in the airlock, and when I went back, it had just...been replaced by purple goo. How? Did they eat it?Do you know anything about why the power went out earlier?
>>41958860Do you want to go back, or escape?
>>41958860So, we found Jack tied up and gagged in a locker.A locker which...disappeared, and got replaced by this laboratory? Was he in there because of what he did?
>>41958860How long has it been since you activated the drive?
>>41958860...Have we met before?
The distress signal was at least recent. Was someone in genuine distress or just wanting to lure someone fresh into this nightmare?
>What did Jack do?He couldn’t take it. He could’t resist the torment of the gravity hell. When we came back, he was just like Anderson and the Captain, a slave to the S-Drive. But I wasn’t.So he locked me up.And he cut me, again and again and again, trying to break me, trying to make me give up.Then he sealed the room and left me to die. The last thing I heard was Prince trying to save me, clawing at where the door used to be. >Jack claims he doesn't remember anything after the drive was activated. Is that kind of amnesia normal? She says that is just the way that Jack is. He was already damaged in the head before coming this trip. That is why she didn’t kill him just now. He doesn’t remember what he did. He doesn’t remember anything. He will even forget you, if he doesn’t take his medicine in a few hours. The meds should be in Jack’s bedroom.>Can you make heads or tails of this purple bacteria? It is what happens when a microscopic being like this passes through what it passed. Incredibly, it did not become feral and lethal. In the molecular level, it is cooperating with the other molecules, and it is really effective at that. Maybe we could learn with it.If it as much as touches you, it will start to replicate you. If you don’t stop it, in less than an hour, it will have copied your brain to a molecular level. And that you will wake up thinking it is you. Yet it will be stronger, fast healing and nearly unkilleable. And worst of all, it won’t really be you. No replication process is perfect, so what comes out will be corrupted version of you. For better or for worse, I cannot say.I have warned the others not to touch it. I'd dare say it is a terrible fate, even for one of us. It would just be one more to be stuck in this ship.[Cont.]
>I had this space suit, hanging in the airlock, and when I went back, it had just...been replaced by purple gooShe laughs a cold laugh. That was probably Anderson. He doesn’t want a copy of himself, but he wouldn’t mind another toy to play with. You were probably meant to touch it accidentally. She recommends you to not displease Anderson, or show signs of distrust towards him. He may not take kindly to that.>Do you know anything about why the power went out earlier? That was probably the ship trying to kill you. I don’t know how it gained a conscience, but it has. And it is trying to fight the Drive. The ship doesn’t believe you can escape, so it tries to kill you, so that you don’t follow us when we head back into the darkness. Yet it must struggle for control against the Drive, Anderson and the Captain.>Do you want to go back, or escape? She says that she can’t escape, but she does intend to stay in this side of the Event Horizon for as long as possible.>So, we found Jack tied up and gagged in a locker. She says that she was the one that put him there.>How long has it been since you activated the drive?Hours? Days? She can’t really tell in here.>...Have we met before? No.She asks if there is anything else you want to know.
>>41959388Well, I'm sorry you had to go through what you had to go through, even if I can't relate right now. All of you, I suppose. And whatever may come next. You're a replica as well, aren't you? Or the healing tank?
>>41959388Why can't you escape? I have a ship, if we can just reach it...And oh. Then Anderson is probably the one who sent out the distress signal, to lure in a new person? If you know how to get into Jack's room, it would probably help. We need his keycard? Or is his door one of the broken ones....Where is it people like Simon and you wake up, after you die?
>>41959388It sounds like a corrupted version of Anderson or the Captain or the old Jack would be an improvement, at least. How do you tell if you're a replicant, try injuring yourself?Thank you, you're the first clearheaded person in this nightmare.
>>41959477>Or the healing tank?
>>41959388Wait, why did Jack stop being a slave to the black hole then.Did he just forget the torment after five hours and become free?
>>41959615see >>41958043>The green tube confuses Ellie, but Jack says it is a fast recovery chamber. It increases the rate that cells multiply and heal. Top of the line. If you aren’t dead, this thing can fix it in a few hours. It doesn’t seem to have been used very recently, though. It is all dusty.
>>41959672No shit I know what the individual words "healing tank" mean."or the healing tank?" is still a non sequitur question that makes no sense.
>>41959702Is she dead and this is just a replica made with the slime, or did she heal up from her injuries that Jack inflicted on her with the healing tank? It's not that complicated, anon, I didn't think I'd need to include every piece of relevant info in my posts.
>>41959724Grammatically all you did was ask her if she was the healing tank. Also there is no reason to think she's a replicant, except for maybe that she's too sane. The black hole is resurrecting Simon just fine without him being a replicant, seeing as how he clearly woke up in his latest body somewhere that was not at the bottom of the inescapable shaft.
>You're a replica as well, aren't you? Or the healing tank?I am no replica. Neither are the others. I managed to analyse it before Jack caught me. I am really good at my job. I warned the others too. The fact the we come back to life has nothing to do with the virus. That is the S-Drive, reconstructing us from the image our soul has from ourselves. The healing tank is a relic from when we still needed it. For the seven of us who roam this ship, it is easier to die than to heal. Though I suppose you could make use of it.>Why can't you escape? I have a ship, if we can just reach it...That is not the problem. This, she must admit, she doesn’t know. She is certain, however, that she can’t leave, no matter what.>Then Anderson is probably the one who sent out the distress signal, to lure in a new person? She’d guess so.>If you know how to get into Jack's room, it would probably help. We need his keycard? Or is his door one of the broken ones. She wouldn’t know. She only knows her door is Innocence. It was what brought her partially out of that place. Yet she knows that another part of her is still there.>...Where is it people like Simon and you wake up, after you die?Everywhere, and nowhere. She says that when she died, she roamed for a while, before noticing that she was somewhere, and that she had a shape again.> How do you tell if you're a replicant, try injuring yourself? She says it would be a good test. A “replicant” would certainly heal much faster.>Wait, why did Jack stop being a slave to the black hole then.>Did he just forget the torment after five hours and become free? She says that it doesn’t feel like the whole story. She always thought Jack had something special when she heard Prince talking about him.Is that all?
>>41959828I suppose, sorry about... all this stuff happening, I guess.
>>41959828Not unless you know where a trove of keycards are.Thanks. Bright side, maybe we'll all get to see Andromeda?
>I suppose, sorry about... all this stuff happening, I guess. It is not your fault. Though, if you do escape, make sure this doesn't happen ever again.>Thanks. Bright side, maybe we'll all get to see Andromeda? She smiles sadly. Not if this is the only way.She brings her fingers to her mouth and whistles. It echoes, through your very mind and the entire ship. A few seconds later, the hulking monster appears through the door and heads towards her. You fear for a moment that the monster will eat her, before it stops and she pats its head.“I don’t recommend that you meet him alone. Forgive him, but he doesn’t really know what he is doing. He just barely escaped.”‘Through this doors lie my gardens. They are not for you. Keep away, or I will allow my dear Doctor to complete the mission the ship gave him.”She and the monster leave the room.
>>41960187Haha fuck.Try and find Jack, and the Innocence door.We can't come this way without another bullet.
>>41960187I'll... keep that in mind. Thanks for being fairly reasonable, and the warning.Find Jack, and take a petri dish with us.
>>41960291>talking to someone who isn't thereShe already left the room, genius.
>take a petri dish with usTaken>Find JackYou leave the room. You found him.He looks scared, gripping the fire extinguisher ready to swing. He asks you if the monster has just entered the room you were in.You confirm.
>>41960187>>41960291Take two petri dishes, one for the blood, one for the purple goo. Check out the Innocence door with Jack (if the ship hasn't gotten fucky and sent him who knows where.)Also, we should probably let Jack know about his condition.
>>41960399So it managed to hit the buttons to open all the doors on the way here then.Let's go try the Innocence Door then. And then maybe see what we can get from the cargo bay crane.
>>41960418No point. Knowledge won't help, only pills. He's either Willpower or one of the mystery boxes.
>>41960399Synthia's using it to guard her gardens. It used t be Dr. Prince. Let us never speak of this again.
You tell Jack what happened in the room. You tell him about the fate of Dr. Prince. You tell him that he has to take a medicine, or he will forget things. You tell him what Synthia says he did to her. You tell him that is looks like he also went through the black-hole, he just doesn’t remember it.He takes a moment to process all that. And another. And a third one.He says he doesn’t remember having to take a medicine, but he doesn’t find unlikely that the black-hole messed with his mind. He says that he believes you, and that they need to find his medicine and get out of here as fast as possible. You go to the Sleeping Quarters to try and enter the Innocence door.
You have entered the Innocence door. There is no one here.
>>41960728Search under the bed and grab the note.Ask Jack to get the things from the bloody corner.
>>41960728What's under the rug?
>grab the noteDone>Search under the bedThere is nothing there.>Ask Jack to get the things from the bloody corner. He tells you that it is an old book, covered in dry blood. It is everywhere. He doesn’t really see a point in picking it up, but he will, if you insist.>What's under the rug?A quick search has revealed nothing.
So the captain who ripped part of the door off was a replica of the actual captain?
>>41960882Sure, get the book.Maybe it's one of those hollow books with a secret compartment inside. What's it titled?
So Stinger was just one of the countless shadowy figures in the vision. The victims who never clawed their way back out of the black hole, and were consumed entirely?
>>41960882We ought to be careful with the book. It could be tainted by something.Do we have any idea what book it is? If we want to look inside, we could probably pry it open with something in our inventory so we don't have to touch the blood. We might also collect a sample of the blood in a petri dish.
>>41960882Grab locked box. Put pillow on top. Bash that shit. Quietly.
>>41961325No, we can probably find a key or better tools somewhere in cargo bay now that we can use the crane.
>>41961096Well there are 6 doors, you've got Anderson, the Captain, Luke, Jack, Synthia, Simon and Dr. Price. Each door is probably for the most powerful personalities amongst those left behind. It's possible Stinger is still around.I mean, at worst, we could go back and ask Synthia. Just knock on her garden door.
>Sure, get the book.Jack sighs and uses the pink blanket to pick the book. It is called Poems and Songs. You can’t read the name of the author, though. It takes some work, but you open it without touching it. Most pages are completely covered in blood, few of them still salvageable. The two of you argue what to do with the locked box. Try to open by force or search for a key?
>>41961431There are seven doors. Dr. Prince's office is here.Synthia explicitly said there are only 7.
>>41961431Oh whoops, disregard me. This corresponds to all 7 characters. Innocence is Cynthia, Anger is probably the Captain, Simon is Sadness, Willpower is likely Tom-I mean-Jack and the bottom two that are disabled are probably the work of Anderson and Luke.>>41961472I understand, I realized my error and am correcting myself.
>>41961461Try the cargo crane, you can use that to freely climb back up right.Maybe something's changed down there. Also, those claw marks apparently are where the Prince-monster tried to get through to Synthia......except there are two places like that.
>>41961461Keep looking for a key. Trying to break it might destroy whatever's inside. We've checked everywhere around the bed, right? Between all the covers and pillows and the like?
>We might also collect a sample of the blood in a petri dish. You manage to scrap a bit of the blood onto a petri dish>We've checked everywhere around the bed, right? Between all the covers and pillows and the like?Yes> Keep looking for a key>Try the cargo crane, you can use that to freely climb back up right. You leave the Innocence room.Luke is here.
>>41961712Luke, what's wrong.
>Luke, what's wrong.“He... He didn’t let me in.”He runs into the bottom right room, fumbling with his card and letting it fall. He doesn’t seem to mind, as he doesn’t return to pick it up.
>>41961712Oh hey, I forgot to mention that the other monster's corpse is still here. I thought that it had regenerated, but I guess there's more than one. That's not a good sign.
>>41961712Well at least he's not wielding a blowtorch this time....Maybe this is a sad replicant of Luke. Or the other Luke was the copy.
>>41961802Acquire keycard....It doesn't work on Willpower or Anger, does it though.
>>41961802Go to him. He sounds like he really needs someone to talk to right now. Also get card.
>>41961808You're not very bright are you.Luke's bodies from two of his suicide attempts were eaten by Prince and lost in the bottomless pit of the black hole, respectively. The seven don't fucking regenerate, they resurrect ex nihilo.
>>41961872Wait not Luke's, Simon's. suicide attempts. Also Synthia described the resurrection process, it wasn't waking up on the spot where you died.
You pick up the card, which says “L. Hamsy”. You try it on the door Luke went in, but it tells you that it has been locked from the other side. Jack says only the bedrooms have that function, as far as he knows. The only one that can override that is the Captain.
>>41962010Wait what, you said he went into the innocence door.
>>41962034I meant the bottom left, sorry.
>>41962010Tell Jack how Synthia suggested to pretend to trust Anderson. Cuz we might run into him.Try the S. Drive room.
After failing to enter the room on the bottom left, which was the one Luke went into, you head to Engineering. You attempt to open the S-Drive room with your newly acquired card. It tells you that you don’t have permission.Weird, you saw Luke passing through here using this card before.Jack says that it may open the door to the Chief Engineer’s Room. He also says that he is not sure you’d want to do that.
>>41962171I imagine not....Not without bullets, maybe.Man if only Synthia could sic Prince on Anderson instead of passively guarding the garden.
>>41962171It's either Anderson or trying to find something in the cargo bay...Can that crane in storage bring things up from Deep Storage? Was that an openable hole in the floor there?
You reach the Storage. Who will go down?
>>41962473Send Jack down again.
>>41962473Jack went down the last time, so he's a good choice.I kind of feel bad about all the stuff we're having Jack do, like going down unexplore corridors first or picking up strange objects. But in this particular case, we have a good reason to choose him.
You get down to the lower part of Storage. Something has changed.
>>41962627That's... convenient? Can Ellie use this ladder?
>>41962627Examine clawmark doors.
>>41962627Was that purple goo there before? Watch out for it.I don't think the ladder is reliable. If it appeared from nowhere, it could disappear just as easily.
>Was that purple goo there before?Yes.> I don't think the ladder is reliable. If it appeared from nowhere, it could disappear just as easily. It seems recessed on the wall. Maybe it appeared when the lights came back on.> Can Ellie use this ladder? You tell Ellie that there should be a ladder down somewhere around.> Examine clawmark doors. Both clawmark doors accounted for.
>>41962921Try crane controls.
>>41962921Okay, can we use the crane to rearrange the boxes and make an easier pathway to get up and down? That's why we decided to come down here.
>Try crane controls. It tells you to either insert a number of a crate or a movement command. It then lists the possible commands as UP, DOWN, RIGHT, LEFT, etc.
>>41963110Dammit, this is gonna be one of those rearranging block puzzles if it's not entirely useless.Enter crate number 1?
>>41963110Okay, that's going to be tricky to use with our limited viewpoint.Do any of the crates look like there's something partially caught under them?
>>419631101, then down.
>Dammit, this is gonna be one of those rearranging block puzzles if it's not entirely useless.>Enter crate number 1?Jack thinks that it doesn’t work like that. You can use the movements to pick up one of the crates, or use the number of the crate to make the system get it for you from Deep Storage. If you wanted to create a set of stairs, it would be easy. Just say what you want to make and Jack will do it.> Do any of the crates look like there's something partially caught under them? No, but there seems to be something stuck on top of the crane.Ellie is here. She asks you what you are doing.
>>41963363"Trying to reach the top of the crane."Maybe if it goes down to deep storage we'd be able to grab whatever's on top of it as it descends.Or, I guess, since we have no idea what's in deep storage and what isn't: Jack can just rearrange things into stairs so we can reach the top of the crane.
>>41963363>If you wanted to create a set of stairs, it would be easy.Let's do that. Be careful not to use any boxes with goo on them.>No, but there seems to be something stuck on top of the crane.Which part? The one attached to the ceiling? When the crane goes up and down, does it stay where it is or does it move vertically?Okay, here's an idea. Find a crate that's on the ground floor with nothing on top of it, then check its number and get the crane to grip it. Move it up as high as it will go, then lower it back down, to test the crane's stability. If it's stable, do the same with Ellie riding on the box, so she can retrieve the item. Ellie should bring the flashlight so she can easily signal you if something goes wrong.
>"Trying to reach the top of the crane.">create a set of stairsThe two of you coordinate efforts to move the crates and make a set of stairs. You even take the time to check if none of them have the purple stuff on them, and remove those that have. It is a bit hard to go from box to box, but you manage. TEAMWORK!While you were moving the crane, the thing stuck on top of it fell. It is a SMALL KEY.You estimate about four hours have passed since Ellie first stepped in this ship.
>>41963968Fuck.Open that toolbox! We gotta find Jack's keycard. Head through the stairwell, it led to the intersection before, right?
>>41963968How long were you in that locker, again?
>Open that toolbox!J. Campbell Acess Card GET! THAT’S YOU! YOUR ACCESS CARD! FINALLY!>How long were you in that locker, again? If Jack had to estimate? About an hour. It was hard to tell time on a dark closet.>Head through the stairwell
>>41963968Now what could you do with tools. Repair the captain's console? Bypass the keycard locks? Stop the singularity?
>>41963968If he's at risk of losing memory, then he should tell Ellie what happened from the earliest point he remembers. That should be when he was tied up in the closet. Does he remember anything important from that point?
>>41964123About an hour... that means his memory should extend to just before he was put in there. Does he know anything about that?
>>41964150We already know everything there is to know about that.
>Now what could you do with toolsSorry. The toolbox only had your access card. No tools in the toolbox.>About an hour... that means his memory should extend to just before he was put in there. Does he know anything about that?Last thing he remembers after turning on the engines is still being tied up.
>>41964150>>41964176Are you retarded or something? The amount of time he remembers being in the closet disappears with his rolling window of memory. He was in that closet for a long-ass time.
>>41964218Find out which room is Jack's.Either he or Anderson is Willpower.
>>41517340 >A few hours. He banged his head against the door, but no one came.>>41958043>He doesn’t know how long he was in there. It seemed like a really long time, though.Jack can't remember the contradictory stories he tells either?
You reach the Sleeping Quarters and head through the door that answers to the card, "Willpower".It is different than what you remember, but you are sure that it is yours.
>>41964397You have a whole healing tank to yourself?Read note. Acquire meds.
>>41964397Consider whether you might be a replica.Since you have a healing tank right here... give yourself a cut to be sure you heal at a normal rate for a rabbit?
>>41964485No sharp objects, so it has to be a papercut.
>You have a whole healing tank to yourself? You didn’t. That part is new.> Acquire meds. You take them and instinctively knows the right dose of one and a half pills.>Read noteIt is a piece of another note, which you had found long ago. Together with its remaining, the text is like this:“Doctor Johnathan Prince - PsycologistMedical Report on Jack CampbellThis patient's situation is an interesting one. Without his medicine, he is unable to form lasting memories, most of them being completely gone after a week. That being said, with the help of his medication the subject has managed to live a surprisingly fulfilling life.Anderson told the Captain that taking someone like that was stupid and unnecessary, but the Captain told him that his job was Engineering, not human resources. He passed the judgment to me, and I said that it would be alright, as long as he took his medicine on time. He hadn't had an accident in the past twelve years and there were no indications that such fact would change. It is astounding, really. I heard the Captain speaking of him. Sad story, orphan, all that. Born in your usual shithole on the edge of the galaxy. Yet when I hear it, how life threw shit after shit at him, I can’t help but feel impressed. Below his relatively meek stature, the boy has a drive unlike any other. He just keeps going, no matter what.I look forward to a couple of therapy sessions with him.”
>>41964676CONGRATULATIONS.Nothing left for it but to meet Anderson then.Or Singularity Jack.
>>41964676Wait....check if Jack's keycard opens S-Drive.
>>41964676Are we sure those were the right pills? Did we check the label? That healing tank is suspicious. Is there anything in it, besides healing stuff? What about the bed?
>give yourself a cutUsing your trusty, unsharpened butterknife, you manage to make a small cut on Jack's hand....It doesn't seem to be healing any faster than normal.Jack says he doesn't want to strip down to use the Healing chamber, so he will just walk it off.>Are we sure those were the right pills? Did we check the label?Yep. Strangely enough, they seem to tug at Jack's memory. Something tells him that they are right.>That healing tank is suspicious. Is there anything in it, besides healing stuff? The tank seems to have nothing on it, besides the usual healing liquid. It seems to have been used fairy recently, somewhere in the last day.>What about the bed?The only thing special about the bed is that there is a teddy-bear beneath it, which Ellie will never find out about.
>>41965006Congratulations, you're not a pile of walking bacteria, you're just an undying tormented soul forever denied the sweet release of death.Go back to Engineering. Try S-Drive, then Anderson's door.
>>41965006>Yep. Strangely enough, they seem to tug at Jack's memory. Something tells him that they are right.Good. We might want to turn the bottle around a bit, to make sure there are no nasty surprises hidden between the remaining pills.>The tank seems to have nothing on it, besides the usual healing liquid. It seems to have been used fairy recently, somewhere in the last day.But the door to the room was locked, and the keycard was in a locked box. The healing tank might have been used elsewhere and then moved here. Do these things have any identifying marks, like a serial number?
>>41965096What part of "spacetime is fucked" did you not get.The tank being here is not weird compared to finding Simon's keycard in the weapons conveyor belt.
You try your new card on the S-Drive door, but, as you expected, it doesn’t work.Only one place left to go.
>>41965211We could also check out that other blood sample we collected from Synthia's room.
>>41965286It's just going to be dog blood or something.
You have entered Anderson’s Office.Anderson is here.
>>41965395Mr. Anderson.Compliment his shades.
>>41965395Note to Anderson his poster is spelled wrong and he should get his money back. It's Happening, not Happenning.
>>41965395How's the work coming? Will this ship ever reach Andromeda?Examine blueprints and the ceiling dripping with purple goo.
>>41965395Is it true you personally invented the new FTL drive? That's amazing. How'd you do it?
>Compliment his shades. He thanks you for the compliment>Note to Anderson his poster is spelled wrongHe says you must be imagining things.>How's the work coming? Will this ship ever reach Andromeda? He tells you that there is just one little uncooperative insect that needs to be crushed before he is able to move on. Nothing to worry about. Her flowers will wither in no time.>Examine blueprintsYou recognize a few places of the ship on them. Others seem to be engines or things beyond your technical knowledge. He asks you to get closer.
>>41965610Look up at the ceiling.
>>41965610Luke and Simon seem very upset. Luke was happy just a few hours ago. Did something happen?
>Look up at the ceiling. As every other ceiling on this ship it is white. There is a small purple spot on the corner near Anderson, from where the goo on the wall seems to come from.>Luke and Simon seem very upset. Luke was happy just a few hours ago. Did something happen?Simon has entered a... rebellious phase. Nothing to worry about. Luke, however, has made too many mistakes. He was forced to take away his permission to enter the S-Drive. He didn’t like that.He insists that you get closer, and asks if you want anything from him.
>>41965610Well, I seem to have found my lost space suit...Was there an accident? That is a lot of red.Wonder why Jack is backing away behind you.
Okay theoretically, we could smash the door controls on the way out to try and trap Anderson here, same with the monster. But he can control engineering from his computer probably, which is just as bad. Also we need his keycard. Somehow.
>>41965865So you're all out of assistants?Do you need Jack to help?
Anderson turns to Jack. He says that the healing pod did wonders for him. His face is looking much better now that his cheeks are not torn off his face.>Well, I seem to have found my lost space suit...>Was there an accident? That is a lot of red.Your space-suit? Oh no. That one is his space suit. He uses it when he needs to make repairs on the Drive, since it is completely sealed.> So you're all out of assistants? He says there is no need. There is no rush. Both of his assistants will come around, eventually. He asks why you are here. You shouldn’t barge into people’s rooms for no reason. He asks you to say what you want. And to get a little closer.
>>41966028Turn and look at Jack.
>>41966028Did we want something from him? I don't remember what we wanted from him.
>>41966028Can I borrow your space suit then? It won't take long.>>41966109Well we want him to fail in his evil plan to suck us all into the darkness, but we can't TELL him that.We want to get into S-Drive to stop this madness, we need his card, which he won't give willingly.
>>41966028I wanted to ask, how'd you make such an impossible drive? I won't tell the Company if you won't.And do you have any ideas for how to defend against this... beast thing?
>>41966086Yeah, did his meds... restore Singularity Jack somehow? That doesn't make sense though.
> Turn and look at Jack.He shakes his head. He doesn’t know what Anderson is talking about.>I wanted to ask, how'd you make such an impossible drive? I won't tell the Company if you won't.He says it takes effort. Imagination. And a little bit of insanity, to risk going where no one has dared before.>And do you have any ideas for how to defend against this... beast thing? He says that he is not really worried about it.> Can I borrow your space suit then? It won't take long.He says that he can let you borrow it for a while, if you get something for him first. But he can only tell you what it is if you approach him.
>>41966228Ask Jack what he's scared of, don't hide behind me.Get closer to grandma.
>>41966228Fine. Get closer.
>>41966228Hold Jack's hand.
>>41966228What could it be? He might be planning to rub some of that goo on your body.Tell him that we don't like getting too close to people. It would be a valid excuse that doesn't imply mistrust of him. Also step away from Jack.
"A little more"
>>41966413"Is there a scary image on your computer? Because I really don't like screamers."
>>41966433Step to the left over the blueprints to get closer, so you can see behind his desk.>>41966433He wants us in range of his ho-smacking pimp cane.
>>41966446No, that's too close. Be ready to leap back at the first sign of something startling.
He says that that is close enough. He asks you to take off his glasses.
>>41966461GRIP BUTTERKNIFE IN POCKET.Always bet on butterknife.
He says he lost a couple of things. He'd like you to find them.>To be Continued
>>41966465Try and lift them off with one hand.
>>41966506Is that all? Okay, we'll keep an eye out for them. What do they look like? I wouldn't want to bring you someone else's eyes by mistake.
>>41966506Well to be frank, you're not gonna be doing any work no the S Drive personally in that state. He really should give us the space suit first, eyes later.
That took a lot longer than I expected it to take. I really need to plan these things better. One thing though. to see a character that is seeing bizarre things and monsters seek a psychologist was one of the most sane things I've ever seems a MC do.Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
>>41966506Grandma, what big... sockets you have.
>>41966595>One thing though. to see a character that is seeing bizarre things and monsters seek a psychologist was one of the most sane things I've ever seems a MC do.Well hey, we stumbled into his waiting room anyway...
>>41966595I don't like the non-pixel art style that you shifted to for the last panels. It's too sketchy, the lines are thin and not very solid, and it clashes with the regular style too much. I can see you were going for detail, but it didn't work together very well.If you do something like that again, I suggest using more detailed pixel art, or simpler drawings with thick black lines.
>>41966676Hum, yeah, I thought about that. I am trying a bit, just to see what works and what doesn't. This try didn't work, it seems like. Well, there is always next thread. Thanks for the feedback.
So, Anderson needs Sylvia to submit for some reason. He can't just activate the drive and suck everyone back in, there's more to it, there are defenses against that. But Sylvia didn't want you to come into the garden because...why, it only offers enough protection for two people?
To know when the next thread will happen, follow @LuthQM on twitter. It is possible that I'll manage to run again this week, but I'm not sure.Anyway, see you guys then.
>>41966595The way you use pronouns is sometimes inconsistent. That's kind of distracting.
