Last time, on Feral Necromancer Quest: You attained some giant spiders to farm for silk and venom. You communed with the spirit of a drow necromancer to learn how to care for them. After preparations you moved out to have a funeral for your friend, the former elven Elder, Varilis. On the road you most certainly did not discover an enchanted forest with an ancient elven woman who taught you the basics of Enchantment magic. It would be silly to suggest that such a person would have lived long enough to remember the fall of the civilizations and told you about it. Nonetheless, you know some enchantment and some more history now. You continued on your journey and reached the sea. You waited for the elven delegation and sent Varilis off into the see as per ancient tradition. The CastVlad Tepish: You, a necromancer, who after being exiled from his tribe, found a ruin belonging to a dead elven necromancer. Armed with ancient knowledge and magic you are on a quest for immortality (among other things)Bathory: Your lover. Trying to bring her back to life was what lead to your exile in the first place. The process of preserving her spirit was, unbeknownst to you, excruciating, and she hated you for a long time. You have given her an immortal alchemical body. You have repaired your relationship with her, and you love each other dearly.Lathrien: Your erstwhile hostage, now a friend and an apprentice, Lathrien is an elf and becoming quite a capable Necromancer and Shaman.Melandie: Elven huntress and berserker. She joined up with your party on her own volition. She has had serious issues with rage management, and her runeblade seems to be affecting her mind.

It is time to go home. The journey here was long and not without its troubles. You have gained Awareness 3! The open water on the left is easy enough to survey, but you make sure to never look too far away from it. The swampland, and later the forest to the right of you is much harder to survey, so you send your scouts to do the work, focusing on the sea yourself. You think it will be fruitless, but it is a nice view. You walk with Bathory in silence, holding hands and enjoying it. A few hours into the first day you see a pack of seals. Curious creatures. Awkward on land, but they can swim faster than you could ever run. Bathory is amused by their cries as you pass them by. It is when you break camp for the second day that you notice something among the waves. Surely it is too large to be any fish. It disappears before you can properly see it, but you think you might have seen something roughly humanoid in appearance under the waves.>Investigate>Ignore>Kill it, bind it, commune with it to see what it is.>Other

'Bathory, others, I think I saw something in the water. Wait here,' you say. Your curiosity, as it so often does, gets the better of you. You had not known many aquatic creatures before, but now that you have seen the seals you can shapeshift into one, and explore the ocean to your pleasure. You do so. The water feels positively warm when you get in, and the speed you can swim at is exhilarating. You flap towards where you think you saw the creature. You feel fairly certain there is nothing there. You do not sense the currents shifting as they do when other marine creatures pass by you. But you can hold your breath a whole lot longer than you have so far, so you keep diving deeper, further away from the coast. You come up for air, surprised to see that the coast is far behind you. You take a deep breath, dive again, and are surrounded. Male and female creatures, with the lower bodies of fish and upper bodies, grey, barely humanoid are swimming in a rough circle beneath you. Their skin is grey and their eyes huge, black orbs. You hear a strange whine. How the hell do you communicate in seal form. For that matter, how do they even know you to be human, only transformed. >They might be hunters. Fuck that's cold. You only turn human for the briefest moment, only long enough to make sure that everybody saw it. You turn back into a seal. The sea-people are confused to say the least. Each one of them is letting out a strange keening sound, incomprehensible to you, and furthermore headache inducing. The vibrations of sound seem stronger underwater. They do loops in the water, point to you, then themselves, and ask you to follow. >Follow them>Refuse and go backOh, who am I kidding. You follow the pod of sea-people. You start noticing subtle differences. There are no obvious secondary sexual characteristics on any of them, all of them are much more aquadynamic than that, but each of them clearly has unique facial features, some of which you would call masculine, some feminine. The dive is deep. So deep that you seriously consider resurfacing for air. Then you see the buildings. Spiral mineral formations, hundreds of meters tall. Each of the spires has a hundred entrances, on each and every level. You are being led to one of these spires. You enter it, and are relieved to find that there are pockets of air under the ceilings of these rooms. Aside from that, soft kelp, fish in floating cages, and mineral tablets with scrapings on them. >>41610230It's not the first one, but I agree. Vampirism is the second worst immortality I can imagine.

And I believe it makes much more sense for short-lived creatures such as myself.''I see, do you think there are any other options at all?' 'Most certainly. Bathory's body will last at least as long as yours, and can be replaced for one. And I believe that I am close to reaching enough skill in magic to have a few more options.''I believe you, of course.''I am not absolutely certain I shall take the option myself. I might avoid it completely.''I would be interested in it, if you could explain it to me.' 'Well, it is largely theoretical. We would have to have a god curse us. I am relying on its temperament, but if it works, you would gain immortality and some power, but you would technically die. Also, sunlight would almost surely become poison.''It might be worth it for me.''I think we shall make the trek in either case. I am happy to leave the final decision later.' 'I see.' >>41610246>>41610257But we dont actually know about any others. maybe if we were eighty years old or something I would see the rush but we are in our prime. We have time to at least discover the other options.
>>41610079>'I believe the option will be unique, but I do not think I shall take it. You can have it.' I don't want a curse those can be lifted also it implies drawbacks
It might be interesting to pursue something more spiritual through shamanism as well.>>41610299I dunno about prime; I was under the impression we are the equivalent of middle-aged. Still a couple decades to go if we don't get gibbed though.

>>41610274Over time as in 4000 years. And you know, I am just aching with curiosity what the others could be. This quest never disappointed me when it came to options.Vampirisim isn't objectively bad, but I feel like Vlad could do better.
>>41610279++Clarification++This is indeed what I meant by Vampirism being the first mostly positive immortality option. It is arguably not the best one (though it has significant advantages over many others), but it is a legit shot at permanent immortality. You are pretty close to unlocking like all of the options, and you almost certainly will before you finish the current quest for Vampirism. You are unlikely to go for it without at least some knowledge of your other options.
>>41610316Well we can move around and fight fuckers without a problem. At least we aren't having problems with our joints and shit.
>>41610316honestly curious what having our two highest be combined.Since shamans deal with spirits and necromancy deals with spirits and bodies.
>>41610344Personally, I'd feel cheated if Vlad didn't become Dracula.Even still, the chance to make a vampire character who isn't edge master or total shit? That idea appeals to me.
>Shamanism X & Necromancy X>Trancend your body and become a spirit of necromancy.>You are now a God.
>>41610369I can see it now. A questionably-corporeal dracolich.
>>41610352I am against Vamirism personally but really for making the trek. It would be insightful, and valuable knowledge could be gained.
>>41610352How many options are left, and will you tell us when we unlock them all?
>>41610295>Talk to BathoryI think we could come to terms with pern. Offer something in exchange for the curse not to have the light. But it would be a stupid crazy d.c cause we tried to piss on a god. That we knew beforehand was an asshole.
>>41610383Yes I really see what you mean I used to contemplate the same. But to be honest, Vlad really grew on me, you know? So much that I would be willing to differ from the original theme. And now I don't want you to feel cheated either anon
>>41610454Who says becoming a creature of the night will change Vlad as a person?I love the snarky bastard too, but I doubt anything we do will change him drastically.Barring the death of those close to him or imprisonment for millennia, he'll still be Vlad. The way I see it, though, if anons vote for something else I won't be bitter, because it's still a good character, even if he looks a bit different. I'm along for the ride.
>>41610383Kinda gotta agree, a vampire who's a genuinly nice guy, without all the edginess, would be a really fun character. Right up to the point where you piss him off and he drops a mountain on you.
>>41610427Thats just silly. Asking someone just to curse you with the good bits doesn't make much sense, especially when he is apparently cursing you for being a dick to him.
>>41610507I'm not sure why people are so against vampire, it's thematic and has few downsides.
>>41610532Don't worry, we'll eventually grow powerful enough to destroy Pern, and take away the downsides.Cause fuck Pern, he's an asshole!
How do you guys know about the upsides/downsides of the immortality routes?
>>41610534To me I think Vlad is the kind of person who's willing to be patient for a better deal gotten under his own power rather than through a "god" he doesn't trust not to screw him over. It's not so much the vampirism itself to me; it's how to get there.
>>41610569Mainly speculation, but we have a good outline about vampirism based on the stuff Dead has told us and implied. Also having a sound understanding of various forms of immortality in media helps. Being a Lich is mostly self-explanatory, you know?
>>41610589I feel like the other options will have huge catches though, like lichdom and whatever shamanism would give us.
>>41610589He's actually trusting Pern -to- screw him over, or -try-.Vlad has a plan, it seems. It's not like he said "Pern will grant me this" he said he would get flat out cursed on purpose. Vlad knows what he is doing apparently.
>>41610532That's the point of a compromise/deal. Anyhow, I want the vamp option but we know way to little about it to take it now.I wouldn't be against learning how to take over others bodies. And work from there to soul transfer. And make a better stronger body, with several upgrades. And make that body a vampire.but our short term problem could also be fertility, with Bathory before we go immortal.
>>41610559If we were that powerful we wouldn't need it anyway.>>41610569We dont baring like, vampirisim and binding ourselves to our own skull. Thats why I think we should wait and see what the others are before we make a decision.>>41610614We should still find out what they are first. This is a big decision, not something we should rush into.
>>41610614Better to learn about them first at least.>>41610637I didn't say Pern would be trying to help Vlad. I'm saying Vlad cannot be certain Pern won't end up actually screwing him instead of being bamboozled.
>>41610507>>41610534>>41610503Well okay, the last thing that really bugs me wit Vampirism is Bathory.Vlad did it all for her, immortality has secondary priority for him.She wants children, and a vampire can't give her that. She wants a child
>>41610643You don't make deals with people you are cursing. You curse them as hard as you can and give them the finger.
>>41610665We don't know that yet/we could just get her pregnant before hand.
>>41610646>If we were that powerful we wouldn't need it anyway. We're not, nor will we ever be without immortality. But in many stories, had the "first vampire" of the setting stay alive long enough and succeeded at his goals, he'd have fucked up whatever deity cursed him/her.
>>41610665You know, I think Vlad is actually sterile, since they have been trying apparently.Either that or Vlad doesn't know how pregnancy works and can't give Bathory a body that can actually get pregnant.
I've just had a thought. Even if Vlad takes a less-than-optimal immortality option now, is there anything keeping him from a better choice later?
>>41610716Soul bullshit probably.
>>41610716Depends on the option. Some will stack, some will bar all others.>>41610503None of the options will change you too blatantly, though some of them might change you subtly, if significantly>>41610404There are four obvious ones (you get just from leveling Necromancy and Shamanism) and few more hidden. Would tell you if you caught them all>>41610682Hopefully following post explains thisSetting that aside for now, 'Bathory, could we speak?''Of course, Vlad. What is on your mind.' 'Well, I think my quest might be nearing an end. The options though, no matter how I look at them, I do not see any chance that I could have children after I achieve it.''I see. I-. Look, Vlad, I do not want to get your hopes up, but I think, well I think that might not be an issue anymore.' 'What do you mean?''Well, I think a baby might be coming.' Well. That changes things. 'Bathory...' 'I am unsure. Some of the signs I know, but it could be many things yet. Besides, even if it is not the case, you need to do what you must. You will shape the world for millenia to come.' 'You will be with me. That is what really matters, but... Kids. I mean damn. I knew you wanted this, but it actually...' 'Yes, it is much more serious than the dream. Many obstacles. Somehow, I doubt that you will settle down and become boring, however.''I- I am sorry. Lost for words.''Now now, I told you not to get your hopes up. What of this immortality?' 'A curse from a god. The theory is, it would have a lot of power. I could not counter it fully, but I could direct some of that power to my means. It is an option. We should visit the temple in either case.' 'That sounds terribly dangerous.''It is. I think I am good enough to do it, based on my previous interactions with gods. But I am not certain it will work.''Be careful. Do what you must, but do not die.' 'I will not.>Fast forward to home. >Other

I love it when dice derail my entire train of thought. Construction nat 20! [1/2]. Lathrien nat 20! Lathrien Learns Necromancy 3! Construction unnatural 20! Great success. In retrospect this was a very productive three weeks. First thing you do is to focus your attention on building roads between the three nearby tribes. You start work out fairly quickly, but the real breakthrough comes when you employ the golems in the construction. Or, more precisely, when you ask them to walk a specific direction. After that, it becomes simple to even out and lay cobbles on the road. It is actually done within the week, even in the winter. It is rather narrow and simple, but it still improves the travel significantly. >It takes 5 hours to reach the elves by the road, and 14 hours to reach the dwarves via the road.'Lathrien, you have been controlling undead of your own. How are you holding up?' 'Well, I feel much better than I did when I came here. I don't feel the emptiness anymore.''I thought that might be the case. Now, the next spell you should learn, this is a dangerous one, understand?' 'You mean the disease thing? I think I almost have it down. I cannot make it spread, but it works. The spirits don't much like it, but I figure, you never cared about that stuff, maybe neither should I.' 'Huh. Good job. I guess you can take a break.' 'Vlad, I have been hearing whispers in my sleep. It talks of you, and about how my soul if forfeit.' 'Right, must be that god. It's fine, just tell him to fuck off.' Lathrien laughs.'What?''Nothing. It's just that Melandie said the same thing.''How is she?' 'Calm. Like really calm. If she didn't swear so much I'd be worried about her.' 'Really?' >Lathrien now controls 30/30 undead minions and has learned Disease spellFinally, the actual renovations. You expected to have to split up your minions between the construction of the roads and renovation of the ruins, but with the roads being done so much ahead of your -cont-
expectations you can bend all of your attentions on renovating the ruin. You have seen the original blueprints for it, and feel confident you can rebuild it. It takes a little longer than you expected, and it is a few weeks after the last of the snows have melted before the construction is finished. The temple looks magnificent. Grey granite is grandiose and the craftsmanship is impressive. It is a hall such as no elder you have ever seen can match.>Diplomacy with tribes that understand the significance of this construction gains +1 while in your temple. You yourself have kept occupied. You have created a couple of homunculi. Six spider-keepers, just to be safe and a body for the Mer ambassador. She chose an elven body, with as many upgrades as you could fit on it. You have been trying to feed non-sentient creatures to the spiders, and while they eat them, the quality of silk has dropped severely, and the venom has dried up almost completely. >Feed the spiders something sentient>It is what it is. This is going to be a serious journey. You need to do some serious preparations for it. You re-invent the wheel, something you have been planning to do for a good while. You make carts and raise some animals capable of pulling them. With your skill in shamanism and necromancy the impact of raising five or six deer and wolves is negligible. You bring supplies for at least two months of travel with you. You dare not take chances, and the undead can carry it without needing to partake of it. You begin to prepare the usual party when you realise something. Bathory's belly has been swelling. She was not mistaken. It looks like you will have a child. >Take her on the road. She will be safer with you than anywhere else.>Leave her behind. She will be safest at home and you might have to make some morally dubious choices.

I will call it as just severely hilly terrain, but it won't be as hard as a mountain trek.Well, you say mountains. The hills here are nothing compared to the mountains that the dwarves inhabit. The crossing is rather easy. It would have been elementary, if not for the carts. They are worth it, you need the supplies in them, but they are a fucking pain in the ass. Your travel across the desert begins. Day 1.The supplies are plentiful, and the ground is fairly solid. You are making good time. Day 2. You did not take the heat into account. It seems foolish, but you'd never encountered the truly sweltering heat of a desert. All of you are sunburned. Perhaps you will move at night from now on.Day 3.The night is treacherous, but you figure out a way to travel with certainty. The stars lead you due west. Day 4Travel through the night is easier than the day. Resting in the day is hard, but making even rudimentary tents makes the sunlight bearable. The mountains can no longer be seen behind you.Day 5Roll awareness 1d20+3 DC 18

You look in the direction the sound is coming from, and see that a cloud of dust is being kicked up. >>41612887AWESOMEWhen we get back we should start improving our army of the dead with these gahstly horrors to accompany our zombiesI know its a minor thing but lets try creating some souls and feeding the spiders, even though thatd be slightly horrible. >>41613158Is possesion possible to use in conjuncture with vampire, due to the fact that its a curse?
>>41613158oooh interesting. I wonder if we could combine Alchemical Construct with Vampirism. If it curses our soul and not our body they might work together...
>>41613067>not wanting to learn a brach of Magic because "they're demons"C'mon son, it's like you're not morally ambiguous
>>41613172>>41612958Well I mean it is pretty fucked up, but this ain't Cuddly Wabbit Paladin quest. Moral ambiguity has been the name of the game from the get go. Vlad is mostly nice, but whether or not he's good is questionable.
>>41613206Oh that's awesome
>>41613158Alchemical construct sounds like an upgraded version of possession.>>41613208I dont want it because the demons give you magic in exchange for your soul. I think vlad is pretty attached to his soul.
>>41613204Posession can be used in conjunction with most other forms of immortality. That said, Vlad has kind of been really averse to the most brutally cruel uses of magic, and posession sure ain't pretty.
>>41613271I have to agree with that, Is vampirism a soul curse or a body curse? Because if we could do>>41613206I would love you even more
>>41613271That said its not like he has a shortage of fuckers trying to kill him.
>>41613294>>41613271It might be that it slowly curses the body so we would have to switch bodies over time.
>>41613294Doesn't sound right to me. Will probably be banned for thematic reasons, unless I can figure out a way to justify it.
>>41613271Indeed. Might be worth keeping in your back pocket though. Especially if a group of adventures come calling. Would be great to have them kill us (if unavoidable) and just slip into one of the weaker minded members...
>>41613328Ah thats a shame. I figured that might be the case though.
>>41613328you could go with my idea here>>41613326Where we need to keep switching bodies if people want both.>>41613328How many options are left uncovered for immortality? We know about necro 9.
>>41613328Why not have the possesion work in a similar way to a vampire turning into mist? Turn into mist, inhabit body.
With all of the new toys we've got, I think we will be looking at reforming our horde as soon as possible. I mean, between the discounts on animal undead, and the three special kinds of undead you have there's a lot of choices to make at this point. Well, we're falling off the board, and it ain't that late (3.33AM) , so I'll probably stick around 'till 404.
>>41613396>when a vampire attempts to possess someone, they explode outwardly and shower the area in gore, rejuvenating the vampireFucking vampire curse too stronk for something else to handle.
>>41613328So say We could make a insanely upgraded body using Alchemy. Use possision into that body. Then go vamp further increasing the benefits we gain from vamp curse. It shouldn't break any rules.
>>41613436Damn, that's pretty awesome, I like it
>>41613449Now we're just powergaming lolReal discussion time here, I wanna know why people are against Vampirism
>>41613432>>41613436>>41613449Like i said unless its an alchemical body the bodies should start dying/decaying/changing when possed, with vlad needing a new bodies every couple of months if he wants to avoid the bad parts of the curse.
>>41613233But asking what dog-Orc knows ain't the same as bringing up BeezeBub sayin lets make a deal
>>41613503We would get more use out of finally learning pyromancy.
>>41613497Not my cup of tea, especially since i keep hearing the vald theme reason (which is a reason equal to a "cause i said so").Also i don't like rushing into one time deal shit and would like to look at all our options first.
>>41613498Actually, most of the negative parts of vamprism are actually negated or reduced as the age and power of the vampire increases. So a new body would be a neophyte vampire and likely very weak.I don't know how Dead works this shit, though.
>>41613498I'm fine with that. I wouldn't mind being able to change bodies and immediately have them affected by the vampire curse. And then leave us to attempt to learn how to day walk with vampire powers as "normal."I'm not looking to get around the curse, I'd just like to be able to move to a much more powerful body.
>>41613497Not against it, just want to know all the options first. Literally no rush.
>>41613432Just make sure to update the paste and I'll find a couple ways to break your system Dead. The Drow thing was just the start, really want more Draco stuff
>>41613539>>41613573Yeah i got you guys, I don't know none of the other options have screamed Vlad to me. I'm not sure he'd want to do a alchemical body either
>>41613602We should make that black dragon soul a tiny alchemical dragon body so he could hang out on our shoulder and talk to us
>>41613605i doubt he would like to rely on a gods power either, but people want vampires.
>>41613497Personally, I think it makes more sense to have awesome bodies we can slip back and forth to that are immortal rather than deal with a God cursing us and the problems that might occur from that. I wouldn't be opposed to Alchemical Body and then being cursed and it travels with us from body to body (which means our soul is cursed). Altogether Vampirism seems to have a bunch of unnecessary downsides. Oh and thematic arguments mean little to nothing to me.
>>41613630About how he hates us?
>>41613646>acquire possession>acquire Alchemical constructWe become Dr. Doom.
>>41613646The drawbacks aren't really that bad though if you think about it, especially as we age. Vampires typically get much stronger as they age.
>>41613654>"You fucking suck, I offered to make you my minion, necromancer!">"This place is stupid, too green. HEY, melt something. I know you have acid, magic-thief.">"This tastes foul, your cooking is shit, necromancer, maybe you should leave it to your wonderful wife, she's rather kind, and quite a conversationalist! .... what's with the look, human?"YES!
>>41613688That would probably take hundreds of years though.
>>41613544Essentially correct, though it is not simply age that gives the increased power, but discovering and adjusting the abilities a vampire would have is a skill in itself.>>41613635The plan is really to steal some power from a god, not so much to try to bargain with one.>>41613449What I'm thinking right now is that the alchemical body is not really natural, and something that the curse would not even consider. I'd say that the vampirism bit would get suppressed until you got back into a natural body.>>41613681There are going to be way more options than 'better human' I'll tell you that much.
>>41613688As long as we achieve immortality we have no worries about becoming stronger. Wizards in this setting are already more than powerful enough to break the world. I'd take a better form of immortality and a multitude of body options over one with a bunch of weaknesses that we may overcome after a few hundred years.
>>41613704Do note, that Liches actually do decay, and it is entirely possible for the magic that sustains a lich to unravel and destroy the lich and its soul forever. And the worst part? It's unavoidable.I want to see every immortality option, but Vampirism is traditionally the only one that lasts indefinitely so long as they feed. Most forms of immortality are curses as well, in many mythos.
>>41613711I just meant in terms or "you thought you killed me but it was really a vlad bot!"
>>41613743>Do note, that Liches actually do decay, and it is entirely possible for the magic that sustains a lich to unravel and destroy the lich and its soul forever.>And the worst part? >>41613701all my yes>>41613728List out the weaknesses and let's meta-game how to get over them. I'm also not convinced a better form of immortality exists without a huge drawback
>>41613744Also doable. You could in fact create souls that mimic yours already, as of the end of this quest.>>41613743The False Life spell would at the least let you retain the appearance of being alive

>>41613743I don't know about demilich!
>>41613818But does any of it actually come from this quest?
>>41613861Seeing as you haven't had the proper lichdom option yet, I think the confusion here might be about the elven necromancer that owned the temple originally, and has been called a lich by other posters. It is a bit of a different immortality than the theoretical lichdom that you might gain.
>>41613861Nope.Nor does any of the shit that has been speculated upon in this thread. We don't know -for sure- how -any- of the immortality works. We only have ideas. And since the vampires are based on WoD and WHFB, it would seem outside sources -are- viable since Dead draws inspiration from them.
>>41613916 <_< Only having played VtM once and not actually ever read the Vampire Lords rulebook. It does seem to fit, but think theme not specific powers.
>>41613916See>>41613907> It is a bit of a different immortality than the theoretical lichdom that you might gain.
>>41613916>>41613954There you have, so vampires can be strong, but not bullshit gods of reality strong.>>41613954You should check out how strong vampires can get in that universe.
>>41613969I was in the process of typing as he posted that, and the refresh didn't catch it.My point still stands, that lichdom could have a -very- serious drawback, since it is otherwise insanely good. (Except for social, who wants to talk to a skeleton? No one, and we would only get to bone Bathory literally. Gross.)Which is why I suggest caution. Even if my vote is with vampirism at the moment.
>>41614021Oh I'm aware. It is a possibility, getting there but, well, basically let's say Vol. 3 adventures would be in that sort of a powerlevel.
>>41613916>>41613969 >>41613954I honestly feel like in character Vlad would refuse any sort of immortality that would seperate him from his loved one(s). He'd also get a lot of shit's and giggles out of tricking a god.
>>41614021>tfw in VtM the earliest vampires were near deific in strength, with Cain essentially being a god.
>>41613801>List out the weaknesses and let's meta-game how to get over them. I'm also not convinced a better form of immortality exists without a huge drawback>VampireWe don't know for sure yet. But I'll give a couple thoughts.Pros:Physically Powerful (Can be gained by Alchemical Body)Increased magical power due to Vampirism (Special Shape shifting?)(Could be useful, but likely more utility more than anything due to magic already being apocalypse level powerful)Immortal (One Body)More?Cons:Vampire Weaknesses - Sun, Holy Power (increasingly an issue due to God resurgence), Fire, etc?Very long build up time to see resultsDanger of being cursed by a God (who knows what could result from that)>Alchemical Body Pros:Almost unlimited customization of your bodySo long as you have a back-up prepared and relatively close, you are extremely difficult to killYou can have multiple bodies to swap betweenCons:Limited by the possibilities of natural materialsTechnically possible to kill youQuality of body limited by your skill in alchemy
>>41614031It could but we should wait until we know exactly before we decide on anything.>>41614059Well bathroy is immortal right now so it shouldn't be a problem.
>>41614078>>41613801OH. Also we may completely destroy or fuck over our soul. Which could be a problem. Our soul probably wouldn't be damaged by Alchemical Body though.
>>41614078These are correct, but not complete.
>>41614078Vampire is very much the "long game" option. but seeing as how most of what we do is long game, I dont have a problem with that.
>>41614115Thanks Dead. I figured they weren't complete, but great to know I'm mostly correct with what I've listed.
>>41614100>It could but we should wait until we know exactly before we decide on anything.Oh, I know, I agree with you there, I want to go to the temple to make sure the place is secure. And because ADVENTURE!!!
>>41614144Hey, you sure don't want some OTHER ancient vampire lord to show up a few centuries from now.Time is definitely going to start advancing faster once the party becomes pretty much immortal.
>>41614170See THAT makes vampire more attractive because we wont have to wait IRL weeks for the powers to slowly kick in
>>41614170Yeah, fuck other vampires.Who needs em?I can only imagine how shitty it would be to be a Vampire Hunter when there is only -one- vampire in existence. What they have been fighting that they thought were vampires were actually alchemical homunculus gargoyles.Oh damn that would suck for the Hunters.
>>41614170Well if possible I definitely want to try combining Alchemical Body and Vampirism. Even if we can't use vamp powers while in an "unnatural" body.
So what's the general feeling on a more civ/SoIaF themed game for volume 2? Do more Empire building or stick to Vlad and pal's adventure time? Mix of both?
>>41614233no kidding.>>41614247some empire building would be fun, especially once we become immortal
>>41614115What constitutes holy though?>>41614078Thanks man, I didn't actually expect you to do that. I don't think our mind would survive our fake body dying unless we had possession as well, and I'm not sure we could possess a non-sentient/soul having body. >>41614200That is attractive (captcha is fucking up bad right now)
>>41614247A mix of both, with more emphasis on empire building in volume two would be grand I think
>>41614277At this point, basically nothing. As empires and religions rise, things might change.
>>41614277>What constitutes holy though?Maybe a better term would be "divine"?I would assume most gods and such things could just flat out attack your soul, since the physical body of a vampire is fuckoff tough, something that targets a soul would still be a threat.
>>41614247empire building, but remember to avoid the pitfall of going full autist with it.Some anons try to micromanage too much shit and also try to turtle the fuck up along with trying to science guns into existence.
>>41614247Mix of both sounds great boss
>>41614333The cautious powergamer has been the greatest difficulty in running the quest. I do try to offer options awesome enough to make the risk worth it, rather than straight up banning turtling.
>>41614247I would also like a mix of both. I really enjoy your characterizations so I don't want them to go too far to the wayside. >>41614277No worries. I figured it might be worth it. I'm not entirely opposed to vampirism. I just prefer Alchemical Body. I mean there are a LOT of awesome creatures and materials out there that we could take advantage of.
>>41614368Dragon body would be sweet
>>41614401That it would anon.
>>41614368I would never leave the characters on the wayside, love them too much. Also having two elves and two immortals makes it easy to have a civilization advance at a realistic pace, while still having permanent characters, which helps a lot. Also, dialogue is fun.
>>41614401But how could we make it better?Biosteel dragon body.Get fucked, balance.
>>41614417That is wonderful to hear.
>>41614431>>41614417That is not to say that nobody's going to die, mind you. I ain't pulling punches, both you and Melandie have been one diceroll away from death.

>>41614458I love Melandie btw, her dialogue seems a lot more natural than everyone else's.
>>41614458Thats awesome.Real death is good. not MAN, ima let you guys SLIDE THIS ONE. keeps people from doing dumb shit on purpose.
>>41614458Which is why keep coming back, we love you Dead
Huh, page 10 to 404 takes longer than expected. I think I'll have to give up and sleep.>>41614490I am somewhat shamed to say that a Melandesque character appears in just about everything I write. I love the archetype, but it almost comes too easy to me now. Big part of this quest is me getting a bunch of words of fiction out of me, I'm practicing here and doing experiments, so some of the characters might take a while to develop, and I might take a while to be a passable writer.See y'all sometime soon. Got a game of Mage to run tomorrow, so that'll be nice and balanced and no players are going to try to get one over me.
