Knowing that an Elder Scroll could prove to be a useful tool for the Empire, you decided to continue toward the Black Marsh instead of turning around and delivering the message to the Empire. Also, you drank from Ryan's flask and found yourself drowsy enough to fall asleep for the rest of the day. In your dream, the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora came and asked a favor of you, which you declined -- though he may find other means of gaining the information he asked for.You awaken to find that it is mid-day. You feel a bit ill. Whatever you drank, it was intense. (Impose disadvantage on any combat rolls for the day. This means that instead of taking the highest of three rolls, I will be taking the second highest.)Ryan and Alsmoth appear to be playing a game of cards. Fa'hir is relaxing his back against the corner of the wagon, his arms crossed. It's a homebrew I've been working on. My family's made potions for generations, so I've been experimenting with alchemy and drinks.""It was overpowering. What's in it?""Barley, yeast, moon sugar, and berries.">"Moon sugar? Isn't that used in skooma?">"I think I'll refrain from trying it again.">"You'll have to give me the full recipe once we return home."

Can I join in?""Of course. The game's dull when it's only two players, anyway."You play for a while, winning the majority of the games that you play with them.>"Sarah, do you want to join?">Stop playing and talk to someone in the wagon.>Stop playing and read your book.>Share your wine while playing.

They seem to share some sort of hivemind, though it is possible for a Hist to go rogue. After ingesting the sap of a Hist, a telepathic connection can be made with that tree.Argonians seem to have the most success in communicating with the Hist, and it is likely that the two races have a symbiotic relationship. Due to this connection, the Argonians were ready for the Daedra invasion of Tamriel. After the Argonians drove the Daedra back, Argonia seceded from the Empire and became an independent province. In 4th Era, 6, the Argonians invaded Morrowind in order to exact revenge on the Dunmer. They were, however, driven back after devastating much of the South.">Continue Reading (Chapter 5: Current Relations with Argonia)>Talk to someone in the wagon>Drink your wine

The Empire has learned from its past and is not marching on Argonia, but it may try once more in the future.Though relations with the Dunmer have always been an issue, in recent times there seems to be a bit more forgiveness. It's not uncommon for Argonians and Dunmer to get along in social situations.Argonia has been neutral in regards to the hostilities between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion, but if one were to be aggressive to the province, it is likely that Argonia would join the other side in any wartime efforts, as they have a history of seeking revenge.Trade is difficult in Argonia due to the difficulty of traveling with large loads. As a result it is not often that Argonian goods will reach other provinces, even Cyrodil, though they share a border. The Argonians seem to not give much mind to the issue of Talos worship, preferring to give reverence to the Hist and worship the old God Sithis.">Continue reading (Final Chapter, Races and Culture of Argonia)>Talk to someone in the wagon>Examine weapons and armour>Write-in

Once you get to a city, you think that you should improve your armor and try to remove the pink color. The steel longsword you have seems to be in excellent condition, and only a master blacksmith could improve it further. The Elven longsword you took seems to be in fair condition. You could improve this yourself once you reach a city with a working grindstone."Sarah, can you look over this Elven longsword and tell me if it's enchanted?""Of course, mister Dryton." You hand her the sword. She spends a few minutes looking over it then hands it back to you. "It appears to have some weak enchantment in the way of ice. They give all elves a bad name.""You know, Sarah, there are some other dangers that come with the scrolls. Ones I have not talked with you about.""What are they?""A good friend of mine, another Moth Priest, received harsh truths from the Elder Scrolls. Matters of fate and divine necessity that he didn't want to happen, but could not avoid. He was forced into a downward spiral of depression and eventually took his own life.""Mister Dryton, I am certain that no such thing would happen to me. I've dealt with a lot in life already.""And what of becoming power-hungry? The Scrolls come with their own temptations. Many people have developed a lust for power after reading an Elder Scroll.""I don't think I have to worry about that. I have experience with powerful magic, and it has not yet resulted in a lust for power.">"Don't be so sure. "I've been reading up on Argonia a lot during this trip. Some of you may know some of these things, but some information may have been unknown to you. >>41378000>>41378147"The religion of Argonia isn't what we're used to. They do not worship the Eight, and they care not about Talos worship. Rather, they give reverence to these sentient trees in the Black Marsh known as the Hist, and they worship the old God Sithis.""Sithis? Who's that?" asks Alsmoth."An old God," says Sarah, "Whose central doctrine is misanthropy and death. He created the Lorkhan, a force outside of the Aedra and Daedra, and some say that he is the creator of Anui-El.""Sounds like a pain to deal with," says Ryan."A pain, perhaps, but likely not an issue. I don't want anyone participating in religious debates once we cross the border. And be sure to not disrespect the Hist; the Argonians will know.""What consequences could we face?" asks Ryan."Sithis is said to be connected to the Dark Brotherhood," says Fa'hir. "And they say that once a contract is made with them, it is for life. I don't want to piss off any Sithis worshipers.""Good point," you say. "We had better be as civil as possible.""We're at the border!" the driver calls out, after the group has discussed Sithis and the Hist for a long time. "Still want to go directly South?">"We should go South through the center of the province, since we aren't likely to meet any Thalmor invaders there.">"We should avoid the center as much as possible, due to the difficulty in navigation.">"Let's head to the nearest city. We can afford a day or two in order to secure better passage."

>>41378375>>"Let's head to the nearest city. We can afford a day or two in order to secure better passage."Be sure to show proper respect all the way through. At the nearest city would there be any way to perhaps contract out a messenger or a bird to deliver our tidings. I mean the Scroll is important but every extra day is another that an attack can fall on the unprotected Empire
>>41378375>>"Let's head to the nearest city. We can afford a day or two in order to secure better passage."FUCK YES, MOTH PRIEST QUEST.
>>41378500"Let's head to the nearest city. We can afford a day or two in order to secure better passage.""Are you sure?" asks Ryan. "We do have to warn the Empire about the attack.""Our warning might not make it unless we secure safe passage through the Black Marsh."Suddenly, you hear a roar in the distance."What the hell was that?" Asks Sarah, jolting up in her seat."Sounded like a dragon," Alsmoth says. "But different, somehow.""Dragons in the Black Marsh? That's impossible. Unless..."Sarah grabs your book on Argonia and flips to the last chapter on races and culture. She hurriedly scans through the pages."There!" She says, pointing at a picture in the book. "Wamasu, or swamp dragons, once inhabited the Black Marsh, but are believed to be extinct. They have no wings, and some say that they have lightning for blood and can release wild electrical discharges.""Perhaps the dragon problem in Skyrim has spread," says Alsmoth.>"Let's avoid it at all costs. The roar came from the South, and there's a city East of here.">"We should solve this dragon problem for the Argonians. Perhaps they'll give us thanks and help us get to the Scroll.">"Go quickly and hope we avoid the dragon as we head South."
>>41378790>"Let's avoid it at all costs. The roar came from the South, and there's a city East of here."I don't wanna die.

>>41378815>>41378882"Let's avoid it at all costs. The roar came from the South, and there's a city East of here.""To the East? You don't mean Stormhold, do you?" asks Sarah."Yes, what of it?""There's been an undead problem. The city was sacked by undead about 150 years ago, and while the Argonians have done well at fighting them off in modern times, I don't think it's a safe area, especially at night.""And nightfall will come soon," says Fa'hir. "If we head South, we could try to avoid the dragon through an illusion spell, if Sarah is capable enough, sir.""I have the ability," Sarah says, "But I could only sustain the invisibility for a few minutes. It would be risky.">"Nevermind the undead. Stormhold is our best bet.">"We should try to sneak by the dragon and head towards Gideon.">"I don't like this. Let's head back into Cyrodil and head South through the murkwood, then come back East to Blackrose.">"Damn it all! Let's just kill this thing!"

>>41379081>>41379089>>41379107"Damn it all! Let's just kill this thing!" You say, drawing your longsword.Fa'hir and Ryan are quick to draw their blades as well."We had better approach it on foot, so not to risk it killing the horses," says Alsmoth, drawing his blade."Agreed," says Sarah, preparing a spell. "I can make us invisible until we attack it.""Good idea," you say. "Let's go."Sarah casts her spell and all of you exit the wagon. You can see a faint outline of each of your companions, but it would be easy to misplace them if you looked away. The Black Marsh is a sight to behold. The area is a massive swamp with strange, long grass and tall trees that nearly block out the light of the day. The trees look very old; you assume these to be the Hist that you read about. The four of you sneak through the Marsh, your feet slightly sticking to the wet ground. After a few minutes of walking, you see it.The beast is the size of your wagon. It is large and scaled, with black-green scales and a long tail. Spikes come out along its spine and sparks of electricity weave through the spikes. It roars again, the trees shaking around it.>Attack the beast with your longsword! >>41379403Sarah conjures a titan of steel in front of the beast, which punches the creature in the face. The wingless dragon roars and bites down into the titan. At this time, you and the four soldiers charge the beast from behind, coming at it with your swords. Fa'hir stabs into its ribs as you and Ryan attack the tail; Alsmoth goes for one of its legs. The creature is not amused. Its tail swings and knocks you and Ryan to the ground; Fa'hir is struck with a jolt of electricity that comes from its spine-spikes, and staggers back. The steel creation begins punching at the creature's face. It is injured, but these injuries seem to be mostly superficial.>Get up and attack the tail again! (Roll 1d20)>Get up and join Alsmoth! (Roll 1d20)>Get up and stab where Fa'hir broke the skin! Sarah's conjuration is battered, but it takes advantage of this and punches the beast square in the eye.The beast's tail comes up and slams down on Ryan. He yells out loud in pain. It then stomps down on Alsmoth's leg; he grunts in pain, but brings his sword up to the underbelly of the beast, which bleeds."Hunted like a boar!" The beast roars out in the common tongue. "But, puny joor, I will not go down without a fight!"Electricity flies through the air, striking you and the conjuration, which disappears, leaving behind nothing but an ash pile. >>41379917You stand to your feet, grinding your teeth in pain. With all your effort, you bring your sword to the wound, but cannot push it far in before you're hit with electricity again. You are knocked back, hitting a tree.In front of you, Fa'hir lifts his foot and kicks the blade that is stuck in the dragon's side. It lodges in deep, and gets the dragon's further attention. It turns in your direction and stares down Fa'hir. A shout bursts from its mouth. "Fus!"Fa'hir goes flying into the tree next to you, a branch piercing through his back and coming up through his front. He screams wildly in pain, but he is not dead yet. Then you hear the sound of another summoning. A beast of clouds and electricity stands between you and the dragon, and it grabs hold of the horns atop the dragon's head. Electricity flows from the dragon into the beast; it appears to be absorbing some of its power.Sap from the tree flows onto your shoulder.>Drink the sap>Force the sap into Fa'hir's mouth, hoping it will help>Try to stand, taking Fa'hir's short sword, and attack the beast again (roll 1d20)>Succumb to the pain and allow yourself to fall unconscious

You see every piece of the Black Marsh for a fraction of a second, then a voice calls out to you."You have opened your mind, my servant." It is familiar. Hermaeus Mora. "Will you now accept my help? A powerful force tells you to raise your hands at the dragon, and you do so.The beast roars as it lifts off of the ground, Ryan and Alsmoth being free to get up. Ryan crawls off to the side, confused as to what's going on; Alsmoth doesn't seem to care, limping off to the side and grabbing his leg tight. You close your hands and bring them down, the beast following the movement by being forced down onto the ground. The conjured storm creature unleashes a massive electrical bolt at the beast while Ryan and Alsmoth join together in stabbing its side. With a roar, the beast's voice grows weak and the life fades from its eyes.
