You’ve probably seen it before on the news. Bear terrorizes neighborhood as it goes dumpster diving. Mountain lion mauls lone hiker. Simple truth of the matter is that modern society is encroaching on some of the last spaces left for wild animals, and as a result there’s some cohabitation going on all parties would rather avoid.Same holds true for werewolves. And vampires. And trolls. And fae. And every other magical specimen out there. But unlike a dumpster overturned by a curious bear, the people in the suits really can’t have the intrepid members of the Eyewitness Action 5 News Family poking around the site of a demon summoning. That’s why they created the Extranormal Regulatory Administration. The EnRA has a simple mandate that like many simple government mandates has turned into a multi-billion dollar boondoggle, “Administer to extranormal events and specimens that occur on American soil and protect the American people from undue stress caused by such entities”. The EnRA is basically a social services administration, shadow government, military, and law enforcement agency all rolled into one, all to keep the increasingly blatant activities of the supernatural under wraps. You are Agent Amber Jensen, one of the people tasked with keeping the supernatural world under wraps. As an agent of the EnRA’s Enforcement Division, it’s your job to deal with supernatural entities and events that intrude upon public society and put a stop to them. The pay is great for a government job and the health benefits are excellent. Which is less a perk and more a requirement with how fast you go through anti-migrainatics.Master Pastebin:http://pastebin.com/6QexDk3H
The room stinks of mildew and rot. And not the usual rot either, which is generally a term reserved for general mold. This is rotting meat. The stench wafts over your face as you stand in the doorway, nose scrunched so hard it’s about to invert on itself.Ever since EnRA entered into a temporary pact with the Lower East Limited Liability to defeat the incursion of dangerous TK15 drug dealers (a pact you didn’t necessarily approve of, but certainly considered the lesser of two evils) a month or so ago, you rather naively believed that your office would be catching a break. Quite the opposite in fact. With LL slipping the office tips on a nearly daily basis you’ve all been swamped with field work. It used to be that you’d actually be called to investigate once a week, tops. Now agents are rolling out on a nearly daily basis. Only matter of time before Captain Kolburne has to hire some new blood. You take a step into the darkened room gingerly, raising your flashlight as you move from the overcast midday and into the rank house. “I repeat, I am an agent from the EnRA Enforcement division. We have reports of unregistered extranaturals in this building. Please present yourselves for processing.”It was true, a little bird told the office there were unregistered trolls living in the area. It didn’t take you long to figure out the likely house, what with all the mold and shit growing everywhere.Seriously, why do some extranaturals live to their stereotypes so much? You take a few more steps into the dank house, flashlight flicking around as you attempt to restrain your gag reflex. There are some stairs leading to the second floor. You’re not sure if that’s shag carpeting on them or a particularly fuzzy layer of mold. There’s also a dining room and kitchen over to the side, windows covered in boards and blinds tightly drawn.>Go upstairs>Check out first floor>Call for trolls again>Ask the symbiote to kill your sense of smell for a while>Write in

You grimace. The stench of rotting whatever the hell is just way too much to tolerate. Glancing around the room, you focus inwards, and call on the Symbiote.<Hey, hey buddy?>In your mind’s eye, you can see the Symbiote stir in response to your voice. It stands and shakes itself before blearily turning to face you.<What is, Bigsie?>Bigsie, it took you a little while to realize it was short for “Big Sister” and not a comment on your waistline. <This place stinks, doesn’t it?>There is a pause as the Symbiote sniffs the air inside your skull or something. <It is PU,> the Symbiote concurs sagely.<Can you nix my sense of smell for a little while? Just until I’m out of here.>The symbiote bobs around excitedly, tendrils wriggling with suppressed joy. <Yes yes!>And suddenly the stench vanishes. You make sure to thank the little guy before returning your focus back to the real world. Ever since the Symbiote started speaking in your head, you’ve really felt a need to give it a name. Maybe once this is all done with.
Shifting your grip on the flashlight, your raise it up to shoulder height and proceed up the stairs.Yeah, that’s definitely not shag carpeting. You successfully pass your roll to resist puking and internally thank the Symbiote for cutting off your smell. You feel satisfaction radiate from the back of your mind. You pad up the stairs, your footsteps muffled by the thick layer of mold, keeping to the edges near the wall to avoid causing the doubtlessly weakened wood from creaking. As you move up the the second floor landing, the Symbiote calls for your attention again.<Bigsie, dead in air.><Where?><Left.>You glance over at the door to the left, leading to what you presume to be a master bedroom. The Symbiote didn’t actually stop your nose from working, just commandeered the sense away from your conscious attention. The door is covered peppered with motes of mildew, and it’s slightly ajar. Swallowing slightly, you pad up to the door, and glance into the room. You can see a huge fuzzy pile of mold lying on top of the bed. The bed frame has broken in half, and the middle of the bed sags down, touching the floor. The dressers and nightstand are in better condition, although that’s not saying much.>Move into the room, examine the room and particularly the pile of mold on the bed. Symbiote is the cutest.
You back away from the door and cross the second landing, being sure to move very carefully. There’s a lot of variation in trolls. Some of them are dull but more or less friendly. They tend to have big bulbous noses and cow tails. Others are considerably less savory, horrid stunted simian creatures, shaggy fur matted with moss and long gangly arms terminating in filthy claws teeming with lord knows how many diseases and parasites. Considering the state of the place, you think you might be dealing with the latter. These trolls are far more cunning than their benign brethren. They’re also known for their voracious and indiscriminate appetites. All things considered, you’d prefer not to get jumped and move over to the second door, managing to avoid making the floorboards creak. Grinning a little at you accomplishment, you seize the handle, and lifting the door so there’s less weight on the hinges, gently push it open. The bathroom looks like it's seen better days, although it’s not nearly as moldy as the rest of the house. The wallpaper is dotted with specks of mildew, but aside from that, it’s relatively clear of any growths. The tub is full of stagnant water, a sludge you’re not eager to extract covers the bottom of the tub. All the metal piping and faucet heads in the room are coated with rust. You glance around the room quizzically, before eventually deciding that the tiling suppressed the mold growth. On a whim, you pull open a closet. You are greeted by a stack of shocking clean towels. In fact, most of the shelves despite being wood, are clear of mold. You glance around until you discover the likely cause, a bottle of some sort of cleaning solution on the top shelf, tipped over and slowly dripping on the the lower shelves.Other than that, there doesn't seem to be anything else of interest in here. Which is possibly a good thing.

Figuring that anything that seems to repel magi-mold might come in handy, you snatch up the bottle of cleaning solution and jam it into one of the pockets of your windbreaker, spritz head sticking out. At the very least it might be startle them. You exit the bathroom, and sneak over to the bedroom, taking care to avoid creaking the floorboards. You lift the bedroom door and you open it, again managing to keep silent. You creep into the room and scan it, eyes narrowed. Aside from the massive fuzzy pile of white mold in the center, the rest of the room is similarly disgusting. The furniture is actively rotting, the wood practically looks green at this point. Grimacing, you move over the the pile in the center of the room. The Symbiote said this room smelled like death. Odds are it’s coming from this pile of mold. Odd also are you would have to amputate your hand and burn your clothes if you actually touched the disgusting mound. You pull out the cleaning solution and spray the pile of mold. Wherever the droplets of solution touch, the mold retreats rapidly, wilting beneath the power of Acme Brand Home Cleaning Solution With Bleach. In fact, the entire pile seems to recoil from the solution, which is just unspeakably nasty. Pleased that you may not have to touch the mound at all, you quickly begin spraying it, forcing the mold to retreat from your righteous janitorial powers.“Oh christ,” you mutter as another layer of mold wilts away.Something is emerging through the mold. Blanching, you spray the area around it, eventually revealing what is unmistakably a human skull, tatters of flesh hanging from it, green with rot.Definitely not the friendly sort of troll. You grimace and spin around, facing the door, spritz bottle raised like a gun, while your free hand warps and transforms. These fuckers are dead. You’ve been practicing these last few weeks.>>><<<Upgrade selection incoming! Need a little more time to prep it though.
Power selection time! Over the course of the timeskip, Amber and the Symbiote have been practicing their mutations, and have in fact mastered several new powers! You may select either two major mutations, a major mutation and two minor mutations, or four minor mutations.>Major Mutations>Call me Cindy Lopper (Toggle: 4 AeP): Jensen’s hand transforms into a powerful chitinous pincer similar to a pair of hedge clippers, her fingers melding into the larger pincer, and her thumb into the smaller one. Her arm muscles adjust to facilitate fast snapping attacks. The pincer deals damage based on Physique, and has a 1.2 multiplier Amber’s Physique stat when calculating damage. Repeated attacks can cut through metal pipes. The Pincer may also cause critical strikes.>Long tendril of the Law (Toggle: 2 AeP): Jensen’s fingers and hand fuse and lengthen into a long tendril-like growth. The tendril is about as strong as Jensen’s own hand and arm and can stretch up to twenty feet in less than a second. This tendril can be used to apply on touch effects Jensen might later unlock.>Crouching Parasite, Hidden Pile-bunker (Toggle: 4 AeP; Cock: 1 AeP; Fire: 8 AeP, 6 AP): Jensen transforms one (or both) of her forearms' interiors into a pile-bunker-like structure, with a hyper-dense portion/object up near her elbow that is attached to several quick-movement muscles up near her wrists, all surrounded in a low-viscosity, highly lubricating fluid. If observed by an outsider with no obstructing articles of clothing, the forearms would visibly swell a fair deal, but would not be apparent when covered by looser-fitting sleeves. Upon formation, the arms would be 'cocked' and ready to fire, dealing extremely high damage to anything her hands/fists would be touching. This attack pierces armor, causes bleeding, and deals damage that scales with Physique (x2.5 Physique). It also has double the crit range.

Grimacing, your eyes narrow as you squint down the murky hallway, just in time to hear something skitter in the house. Definitely not you. Definitely not good. You raise your hand, now morphed into a vicious claw, ready to strike. You’ve been training with the Symbiote, long hours spent perfecting new and deadly mutations, including your ace in the hole, a savage mutation kind of like a jackhammer, but less about quick jabs and more one all powerful strike. You restrain from employing that mutation, as it would likely be overkill for common trolls. As you pad towards the door, you mentally go over everything you’ve learned about rot-trolls while at EnRA. Much smaller and faster than their larger mountain troll brethren and far more hostile and predatory than nordic trolls, they are cunning hunters that operate best in packs of four to six, usually lead by an alpha female. They possess an ape-like strength that belies their size, usually standing five feet tall. Although they possess the regenerative abilities common to all trolls it is offset somewhat by their more delicate constitutions, which cannot endure nearly as much punishment as their mountain troll cousins. And like every living creature short of dragons, they have a healthy fear of fire, in addition to their more unique fears of light, shrill sounds, and cleaning goods.“Just make sure you double tap,” you mutter to yourself, “otherwise they’ll ram a shiv up your six.”Clutching the bottle of cleaning solution in your non mutated hand, you eye the doorway. You can almost swear you heard something move beyond it, taking just as much care as you to avoid stepping on the creaky floorboards.

You fall back, taking up a defensive position behind a the moldy dresser, spritz bottle propped up like a gun, eyes narrowed and staring at the door frame. You definitely heard something creak out there, stupid fucking trolls. The seconds tick by tensely until there is a sudden burst of movement and the door bashes open.Thank god the Symbiote is diverting your sense of smell, because even without it, your eyes start watering from the stench. The trolls flings itself through the air, arms outstretched, hands tipped in filthy black talons reaching for your face as its mouth opens to reveal a set of filthy grey tombstone like teeth, thick red tongue slapping against its cheek. You resist the urge to wretch and raise the spritz bottle, conveniently set to the “jet” setting instead of “spray”. A thin stream of cleaning fluid soars through the air, impacting the troll’s face, a large amount splashing into it’s eyes and mouth. Despite apparently moving in slow motion, its screech of agony is at a normal tone, and its hands move away from you to claw at its face. You sidestep the lunge easily and bear down on the troll with your claw.
You get in one solid slice, and are preparing to spray it again when one of the creatures’ thrashing legs catches you in the stomach, sending you toppling backwards, badly winded. You collapse against the backboard of the bed, the spritz bottle rolling away from you. Scrambling to your feet, you gasp, desperately refilling your lungs with air as the troll attempts to stand upright, arms shaking in pain as the cleaning solution eats away at its face.Grunting, you lurch over to the spray bottle, pick it up, and send another jet of solution troll wards. The fluid strikes the beast’s chest and side, unleashing a burst of acidic steam. The troll bleats once more in pain before collapsing onto the ground, steam rapidly rising form where the cleaning solution struck it.You glance at the bottle in your hand. You’ll have to think of a witty one liner at some point. However, right now there are still trolls in the house. Most likely this one was a scout of some sort, sent to feel out the intruder in their lair. He probably came with a friend or two.

Before you do anything, you make sure that this troll stays down. You walk over to it and kick it over. And immediately regret your decision. The creatures face is almost entirely gone, and its hella nasty. Like the first gore thread you ever saw on /b/, assuming of course that you were some nolife REEEing reject who actually went on that shithole of a website that the hacker known as “4chan” uses as his base of operations. You, as a matter of factm don’t go on that site, but you are a magical cop so you’ve seen some fucked up shit. You make that shit slightly more fucked up by jamming your fingers into the creature’s eye sockets and wriggling them around, making sure the brain is properly mushed.Keeping your fingers in the eye sockets, you drag the body up to the door with you before tossing it into the hall. Almost immediately two furry shapes descend from the ceiling and start savaging the corpse. You blink at the spectacle, more than a little put off. Really, they don’t honestly think you’re that hairy, do they? Maybe they just didn’t really like that troll?Sighing, you raise the spritz bottle and send out a few jets of the cleansing fluid. The droplets glisten ever so slightly, even in the dank house, before they touch down on the two trolls, eliciting howls of pain and rage from both. Before either one can turn around you’ve lunged forward, claw slicing deep into the thick fur covering the back of one of the troll’s necks. Your hand leaves followed by a torrent of blood, and talons leaving deep lacerations despite the creature’s thick fur. The beast flops over, going suddenly limp as the connection from its brain to the rest of its body is severed in one fell blow.
You barely have time to recover from the strike when the other troll leaps on top of you, clawing at you with its filthy nails. The creature pins you down, flat feet on your stomach as it savages your chest and head. Snarling furiously, you jam the spritz bottle up the trolls nose and squeeze down long and hard on the trigger.Horrid steaming red foam pours out of the troll’s eyes, ears, nose, and mouth as the cleaning solution dissolves the interior of its head. Pushing the troll off of you, you roll over, moaning in pain. The damn thing might have only been on you for a few seconds, but by god did it do a number on you.Although your chest and head are by and large alright, you have a few deep cuts on your left arm, the arm you were using to block the trolls assault. You breath deeply, stabilizing yourself. There should only be a troll or two left, and the alpha female. You might try to run, but likely all the ruckus has roused the remaining trolls. If you go down stairs, be very very cautious.>Plan of AttackHit Points: 11/18Limb Status: Left arm bleeding heavilyConcussion Status: All goodAether Points: 21/21 (No AeP loss from Exomusculature due to Sanguine Thirst)Weapon: Spritz BottlePowers:>Predation (2 AeP per round): Grants a plus one (+1) modifier to Acuity and Agility>Claw (Active): Transforms your hand(s) into a claw. >>41067048>RegenCan't we just, like, play a prerecorded shrill sound on our phone at max volume? then, as the trolls race up the stairs, we toss one or both corpses at them
>>41067048>Regeneration (1 AeP per round): Heals one (1) point of HP and limb health each roundDouble tap the dead trolls, I'm thinking we try doing something that the trolls tried to do to use, find a good spot on the ceiling to perch in blind spot for someone coming up the stairs by sinking our claw into the wall and bracing with our feet so we can shoot fucking trolls.
Alright, burn one round double tapping trolls and regenerating. What do after that?

>>41067352Are there any windows nearby? I had an idea of flooding the hallways with light. Maybe find something flammable to improvise a torch, and the using our phone to create a shrill sound that anon suggested sounded good too.

>>41067587I was thinking more like something to scare the trolls with, not set the building aflame, but I understand your concerns.
>>41067582Good run UG, see ya next time.
>>41067587ohhh yeah, that could be something on the level of a dust explosion, with the sheer density of mold.>>41067582There was Little I a while back.Bluelight?CitalBurns
