Welcome to the /tg/-approved comics thread! This is where you should post comics which are interesting, inspiring or otherwise pertinent to traditional gaming. Submissions should include a name, author and reason why it is /tg/-worthy and a link if applicable. For example:
Name: Gunnerkrigg Court
Author: Tom Siddell
Reason: Excellent plot, pacing and setting which create a lot of inspiration. Incredible character development and possible best depiction of Coyote in fiction.
Link: http://gunnerkrigg.com

Go ahead and post your comics, people!

Name: Prince of Sartar
Author: Kalin Kadiev
Reason: It's set in the world of Glorantha, one of the oldest role-playing game settings in existence. Kadiev works with the guys at Moon Design Publishing, and this work is canon with the gameline. That and the art is beautiful - the artist does great work with color, and his depictions of the crazy otherworldly stuff of the Godplane is fantastic.

Name: The Sisters
Author: Pete and Brian
Reason: I've been here for eight years and we just finished our third issue. Urban fantasy hard continuity slice-of-life at the moment, with a focus on Satanism and Americana mythology. No fairies, no vampires, no werewolves. Things'll pick up by the end of the issue we're starting on Friday. We also update 3 pages a week.
Link: thesisters-comic.com

I really don't like whoring my stuff. But I've been on /tg/ for a good long bit and it sort of comes across like Innocents + Mage the Awakening by way of greater Boston area lower class gingers. Artist did a bunch of goofy L5R doodles that show up in those threads on occasion.

Stuff I find good:
The Green Knight by Mathias Praz
http://www.greenknightcomic.com/
Fantasy story about a frog knight. Its a bit fun and a short read. His characters also change clothing, and that is always refreshing. Author is also a nice dude, good to talk to.

Skal by Jennie Gyllblad
http://www.skalsaga.com/index.php
Arabian/African fantasy, great environments. Feels kind of like a mash-up of Dark Sun and Al-Qadim. Bit cute, nice watercolors. Wish it updated more and used hand-lettering.

Monstrous
http://monstrouscomic.tumblr.com/
Prologue is meh, story itself is sort of tongue in cheek with urban fantasy detectives. Has an incubus in it who is lewd. Big bad vampire has a sort of crocodile form. Might need more time to develop, but some parts of it are cute.

Things are on a downward spiral. Issue of doing this stuff is we realized we have to decompress the first couple issues before something can go wrong and feel like there's been enough build up and characterization. Three chapter rule.

Focus is on Satanism, but you can't just open with it. Demons by themselves aren't scary, and they aren't what makes the Devil scary in an urban fantasy sense. Its the slow corruption, the influence and things you do because of the Devil that make it scary. Have a little mini comic, done a few years back.

Gotta build to it otherwise it doesn't feel right. Plus, keeping the powers street level as far as magic goes. If its too epic then we've failed. My artist and I loved the Dresden Files but the power level ascended really fast in that and we're planning on keeping it low throughout.

I guess if we're talking comics in general:
Fury: This War of Mine
Punisher: The Slavers
Really great war stuff. Fury if you run Only War or Twilight 2000. Punisher if you run Hunter or any urban crime game.

Garth Ennis' run on Punisher MAX was amazing. "Born" and "Baracuda" are also well worth a look.

Hellboy, the BPRD and the various spin offs form a coherent world of weird fantasy, science fiction and Nazi punching pulp that can tell horror stories, action, fairy tales and legends and more recently apocalyptic tales of survival not post-apocalyptic. The apocalypse is in progress[/spoiller]

You know there's a difference between a woman identifying herself as some catkin genderfluid dipshit and a fantasy genderless angel manifesting itself into reality with a physical body and starting to appreciate mortals' shapes and norms?
Also, are you so concerned for an angel feeling something it can actually physically become, opposed to some real person's grand delusions of being an animal trapped in a human's body.
There's difference between SJW propaganda and fantasy creatures shapeshifting. Also because if that was SJW propaganda they would have pushed the matter too much, overshadowing the cool setting.

Name: Darths & Droids
Authors: Andrew Coker, Andrew Shellshear, David Karlov, David McLeish, David Morgan-Mar, Steven Irrgang.
Reason: a very interesting plot and comic concept. It uses screen caps from the Star Wars movies (They've gone through The Phantom Menace all the way to the beginning of The Return of The Jedi). The players control the characters and create a version of the Star Wars movies. In their universe Star Wars doesn't exist. The writing is amazing and very well thought out. It's been running for about 7 years now so it has quite a stack of pages (1200 at the moment) and they plan to keep on going into the next trilogy, so there will be no lack of content.

>sapient races are equivalent to giant rats
And you don't see the problem with this? Not to mention that the Drow are the only magical race.
>>
>>40900246
Correction, fae races are the only native magical races and drow are one of those. There are also demons, which aren't native. Also, sapient races are equivalent to giant rats in loads of other settings.

It's a mediocre webcomic but it isn't all about masturbating over how much better drow are than humans or dwarves. Humans and dwarves are literally irrelevant and have no role in the story. They're just scenery and mean nothing to the story. It's not masturbatory (well, not in that way), it just has a specific focus.
>>
>>40900268
Okay. Sapient races that aren't Always Evil of some sort. And they definitely do fap to that. You've clearly never been on their forums. From another standpoint, one doesn't just say, "I need a weak enemy race to show how much better my race is. I know! Humans."
>>
>>40900344
Why can you say that about goblins, while not being allowed to say that about humans?

Also, I have been on their forums as one of the people that took part in that raid years ago. Humans are irrelevant and insignificant and they are not discussed unless an outlier who has a problem with the way humans are treated brings it up.

It's a comic that's all about the author's interpretation of drow doing drow things. They aren't getting off to seeing humans get beat up, they aren't getting off to the innate superiority of drow over all other races, they get off to drow doing drow things with other drow with no other race being mentioned or seen at all.

Can you give a good reason why "Lesbian Harry Potter" is /tg/ relevant/"approved"?
>>
>>40902591
Look, the plot arcs in HP and GK wildly diverge. In fact, they follow very near to the opposite. Plus the comic has not yet been finished which leaves more space to diverge from that standard. In addition it has sufficient plot and enough interesting ideas to get a creative spark going in the mind of a gamer. Of course, all of this is assuming that you are not a troll, which you could be.
>>
>>40902682
>it has sufficient plot and enough interesting ideas to get a creative spark going in the mind of a gamer
Oh congratulations, that includes only, oh I don't know, FUCKING EVERYTHING you goddamn inbred.

I got inspiration for a worldbuilding concept for a setting I'm working on from riding a goddamn jetski, so does that mean we should have "/tg/ approved" Jetski Generals?
>>
>>40902715

>does that mean we should have "/tg/ approved" Jetski Generals?

Well, I would probably get more new ideas there than in a "magic school" webcomic.
>>
>>40902715
It is entirely possible that you did get inspiration from a jetski. However, jetski are not varied enough in design to create a thread relying entirely on inspiration from jetskis. On the other hand comics have a massive variety and with enough available you could easily find one which would put a good thought in your head or get the mental gears turning. This thread is designed to simply speed up that process.

Waterworld had jetski raiders. It would be like a biker gang, but on the water.

>are so good or interesting that they deserve the attention of /tg/.
>deserve the attention of /tg/
>implying /tg/ is some holy mecca of good taste
Judging by this thread, I should start taking pictures of dogshit and posting it on /tg/, as that would only improve board content. Also, your previous criteria of "inspires gamers" means literally ANY comic is deserving of /tg/'s attention. Maybe The Bus inspired me to run a surrealist Call of Cthulu campaign that takes place entirely on a bus and even if it didn't, it might inspire someone else to.

Ergo, it's just as board relevant as Magical Dykes or Cringeworthy Attempts At Snarky Characters Webcomic #324234.
>>
>>40902980

>It would be even more impressive because you could utilize your own wake and slung water in your various arts.

That sounds rad as fuck. The wake, used cleverly, could open up a lot of stunts and battlefield control.

A lot of "I didn't miss" followed by the wake hitting something else.
>>
>>40903055

>Maybe The Bus inspired me to run a surrealist Call of Cthulu campaign that takes place entirely on a bus

I know you are being sarcastic, but that also sounds great.

Jetski martial combat and a bus based Call of Cthulu campaign. I swear to God I'm loving these ideas. Do you have more?
>>
>>40903055
If you think that The Bus would improve the quality or help give people ideas. It is intended to help people have a more enjoyable gaming experience out of those ideas.
>>
>>40903068
>A lot of "I didn't miss" followed by the wake hitting something else.
Jetski wakes aren't that powerful, unless we're dealing with crazy futuretech jetskis that operate at like 300mph and purposefully cut deeper into the water (which opens up a whole new slew of variables to consider in and of itself, especially if you make this futureski being able to have variable wake settings at the cost of speed or maneuverability).

In reality, a jetski's wake would more likely be used to create your own "ramps" to jump off of, disorient pursuers by creating speed bumps for them, or allowing teammates to move faster and then jump out from behind you by drafting in your wake.

If you want more inspiration, check out the game Bloodwake. It had pretty fun ocean physics for an Xbox Original game.

All the angels are genderless and sexless, being giant clouds of formless vapor (or liquid) flame covered in eyes bound into the armor which gives them form and physical presence. However, they normally present themselves as male, for convenience's sake.

One of the angels, 82 White Chain Bound In Emptiness Returns To Subdue Evil, has gotten rather attached to the world of mortals and adopted an extremely human body image and female gender.

Because this kinda looks vaguely like being transgender if you squint, it is therefore Tumblr. Also, the author has a Tumblr.

There's no need to pretend. Lesbians in fiction only exist for one of three reasons: outdated "shock" appeal, progressivist pandering, or fanservice. Really cringey comedic relief too, if you're Japanese.

But no, keep on telling me about how Gone Home is like, so totally art and I just don't understand.

Well in that case you can most certainly do crazier shit. Like some sort of Seismic Pulse Emitter that basically acts like a giant fucking boulder just got dropped in the in water and blasts a circular wave out from the jetski, or steal the Wave Gun from Bloodwake and literally shoot "wakes" at people, sending them flying. That shit was fun.

Oh, and it should go without saying that all jetskis should come equipped with blades on each side for high speed jousting/duels, as well as gnarly decapitations via wake jumping.

Basically a comic about a minor wizard in modern Scotland trying to take down an evil spirit. It's short, and the dialogue has a heavy Scotch accent, but worth a look especially if you like Celtic mythology or Dark Age Scotland.

I wouldn't even say the premise is the same. The boarding schools are similar only insofar as they are both members of the class "boarding school." The magic is similar only insofar as they both fall under the wide umbrella of "magic."

By the same metric, Apollo 13 and Star Wars have the same premise - They are both dramatic stories taking place in spaceships, with a plot centering around a critical design flaw.

If you told me I had a choice between a story that is about about a well-rounded "modern" man who's in touch with his emotional side and works as a consultant for a financial firm and has to deal with some sort of relationship difficulties, and a hyper-muscled cunning savage who cuts his way into an ancient temple and kidnaps the priestess after fighting the lizardman guards, it's a pretty easy choice.

>>40904186
No i know you didn't, i said it was a case of you using the very same argument. Just basically swapping one 'agenda' for another.

>>40904219
The equivalency lies in how you and 'SJW' both completely denounce any merit to a creative work because one aspect of a character in that work offends your sensibilities.

"I don't like a thing (be it because you're tired of overzealous proponents of it, or genuinely bothered by the concept of homosexuality, i don't care), so anything related to it, or involving any semblance of it must be terrible at best and a threat to my way of life at worst."

I mean, the writing is the same quality, so if it was simply the direction the character progressed that bothered you then that says more about your own sensibilities than it does the comic. If you did'nt like it before then im sure you have plenty of legitimate criticisms. But its not a false equivalency to say that in condemning a work for broaching a subject you don't like is exactly the same as some other group condemning a work cause it had beefcake on the cover. Just like its the same thing as fanbases suddenly rejecting canon cause their favorite fan theory didn't pan out.

"Its not pandering to my tastes, so its shit."

>Yet the argument isn't remotely the same.

But they are. They all boil down to "No story relating to X subject can be good." Because muh pandering or muh sogge knees or muh-whatever other bullshit.

The point im making is that this stance is shit, and trying to push it on others is just as shit as trying to push whatever ideology that motivates it on them.

Making up stories, in any medium is much like playing an RPG, i mean besides the making up stories part, in that you can have a great time playing with friends even if the system (or that knee-jerk inducing theme) is FATAL. You can have fun in spite, or in rare cases because of the things you otherwise would outright reject. This goes doubly for when those themes are just an out of the way subplot. I mean fuck sakes, it barely comes up in the case of GK.

Now I'm not saying that there isnt such a thing as pandering or preaching through your story, or dumb hamfisted ways to handle things. Of course there are, the point is to distinguish between legit literary criticism of some author tiredly trying to force his opinions on you (cant come up with a webcomic example of the top of my head), or bending over backwards to please a rabidly vocal part of the readers (Goblins), or retarded characters whos one dimension is litterally 'hurr durr homosex lol' (too many to count), versus writing a story about a subject that often falls into one of these traps.

tl;dr
Rejecting something out of hand "Becuz lesbiuns" is as retarded as rejecting it because "mel powur fantusy" - simply find a solid criticism if you want to shit on something.

You're REALLY stretching the concept of equivalency, well beyond any reasonable degree. There may be something "similar" about the arguments, but you're really glossing over the finer details in order to make a point which falls to pieces when those differences are examined.

No one denounced anything aside from how including a fetish into a work alters the work. You can't just have a character say "Hey, it's not really important to the plot, but I think I'm going to masturbate to a picture of someone's feet" and expect people to just casually ignore that or treat it like it's a common action to undertake.

It's like how Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser both have very relaxed attitudes towards rape, with both of them being implied rapists and at the very least not really considering it something to be alarmed about any more than murder or theft.

This isn't the sort of thing that doesn't affect the entire tone of those books, for better and worse, with a sense that the heroes are not always and entirely pristine in their heroism. In fact, the Gray Mouser's entire character revolves around him being a scoundrel with airs while Fafhrd is a barely-civilized barbarian, and the casual approach towards rape really nails these features down.

If you introduce something controversial, you are never doing it casually. Revealing that a character had incestual relationships with a parent isn't something you can just try to slip into a character's background information in a show for small children, nor is it really a minor detail to have a character announce that they've fantasized about going knot-deep with the group's canine mascot. If you include it, you are making a statement.

Think of it like choosing your battles. You have a limited amount of topics you can seriously talk about with the full level of gravity they deserve, so what controversial elements you bring into your work end up defining it, for better or worse.

Murder, or at least killing, can serve a purpose. Both heroes kill people who try to kill them almost routinely, and even the notion of killing someone in order to accomplish a goal at least presents the pretense that it might be performed out of necessity rather than personal desire. Even theft can be performed for the sake of feeding a family.

On the other hand, rape is really just a purposeless crime that only in the most convoluted (and I mean, really, really, convoluted) scenario would ever be considered a necessary action.

>No one denounced anything

... where i butted into the conversation was when someone posted that everything involving the topic of lesbianism was this or that brand of shit, or porn. Rejecting the work solely on the premise of one subplot, using the very same argument (because this topic, the work is shit) with the same basis (one small aspect of the work in question) as many if not most of the politically motivated "critics" on tumblr.

And that is a load of horse shit, regardless of what aspect of a story bothers you, because you can write a good story about anything. Now sure, it might not be for you, but walking into a 'recomendations thread' to condemn a work outright for having an aspect associated with a bunch of bothersome people who regularly condemn works based on single aspects that bother them, is kind of ironic.

The point he was making was that portraying lesbianism in the manner in which the story did both affected the overall quality of the work, as well as reflected attitudes inherent within the work. You can't just try and remove a part of the story when the author made a considerable effort to put it in, and including lesbians warps the story in order to accommodate them.

Think of it this way.

Rowling said that Dumbledore was gay outside of the book series, but she never explicitly said it within the book series. At best, she could only allude to it, and at the end of the day, with only the body of text to be examined, Dumbledore's sexuality was eternally debatable.

This wasn't an accident. It's because Rowling understood that including such an explicit statement would actually reduce the quality of her work, and in fact even demean any statement about love that Dumbledore would preach, especially when preached to a young boy with attachment issues. Rowling wasn't afraid to cash in on tumblr points and was always sympathetic to the gay community, but she understood exactly what she would have to do to the story in order to make a major character gay instead of just vaguely alluding to it, and she recognized she didn't want to effectively ruin her story just to make a political statement, when she could make that statement outside of the story.

On the other side of things, we had the Legend of Korra, which hamfisted a series of bizarre character-defying scenes into the story in order to try and construct an emotionless and implausible political statement, weakening the story throughout and ultimately providing an unsatisfying ending.

It's just a topic that you can't casually bring up, because it's not a typical romance in any regard except through a delusional, propaganda-fueled lens. Even trying to present it as a typical romance is a weighted statement, and that's never really going to change, no matter how much some people might wish otherwise.

Just like any other element introduced beyond the premise. If the argument had been more about how it was handled in the work in question i would have agreed this was the point being made. Instead it was a blanket statement, that in all cases these inclusions are made for a tight set of reasons, all of which (to me) implied the story was shit because of it.

>It's just a topic that you can't casually bring up, because it's not a typical romance in any regard except through a delusional, propaganda-fueled lens.

Seperate debate, but unless you mean statistically then no, of course the day that is the norm is only shortly before the human race dies off, or has transformed into that clone society from Forever War. But if its not 'atypical' in the statistical representation sense then we're in "What is love?" territory which isn't something you can so easily go out and make authoritative statements on.

Well, no, you didn't really prove anything. You began with the assumption that homosexual relationships in comics are a heavy statement and then moved from there, but you never proved your starting point.

A homosexual man talking about love to a young boy is no different than a heterosexual man talking about love to a young girl.

If you want to argue that homosexuals relationships have no place in fiction if not as a political statement you have to prove it, because that's not the widely accepted opinion anymore.

The fact of the matter is that it is a debate, and one that is silly to bring up because it's such an all-encompassing distraction. That's really what it's been built up to be, carefully and with calculated intent, where the only right move is to not bring up the topic in the first place if you actually want people to pay attention to the rest of your story.

It's why it's a taboo topic on most boards, because all it does is churn up the same debates with neither side willing to give up any ground. It's the sort of thing that needs to be discussed with an almost impossible degree of maturity in order to make any real exchange of ideas possible, despite it being ultimately an immature topic that has been given undo airs. It's not even a debate on "what is love?" but really just a debate on "what's the appropriate way to express a fetish?"

Treating it like any other fetish is easily the best way to go about the whole topic. Don't bring it up, never make any explicit statements, and just let the readers apply their own ideas wherever they feel they're appropriate. Hell, if you have two girls simply wave at each other, people will write up slash fiction about them. And scat fiction. And one of them is going to have sex with a dolphin.

>A homosexual man talking about love to a young boy is no different than a heterosexual man talking about love to a young girl.

What. Are you serious? I get that you're trying to make a point, but this is just silly to the degree where pointing out all the differences between the two would probably take me a couple hundred years of cultural examination as well as a series of complicated lectures on the nature of love and it's myriad forms, and at some point we would actually have to discuss and define whether heterosexual/homosexual are anything other than bizarre modern constructs that have are merely propaganda fueled tools to adjust public opinion.

Simply put, your statement is some pretty poor propaganda.

>because that's not the widely accepted opinion anymore.

Actually, the widely accepted opinion is to continue to keep those relationships segregated, labled, and kept largely idealized. There is a "place", and it's been the same sort of place it's always been: Either some sort of lewd service, a girl's idea of a forbidden romance, a political statement, or a joke.

People are still not really ready to look at homosexual relationships in how they appear in reality, because that stuff isn't something anyone actually wants to look at, either because it destroys their idealized fantasies, conflicts with propaganda that promotes the fetish as nothing but a bundle of pure positivity, or they just find it downright disgusting.

A community defined by assisted masturbation isn't exactly made of pure rainbows and sparkles.

Stories dont have to deal in absolutes. Much like sci-fi can explore an authors vision for how a certain event might change the world, a story can also explore relationships, be they platonic, romantic, familial or antagonistic or anything in between.

Bringing it up is not the sole defining (though defining it may be) characteristic of a story.

>Don't bring it up, never make any explicit statements,

While im all for leaving it up to the reader to make up their own minds i refuse to see this as a topic that absolutely has to be left to that. There is one thing to court controversy, it is another entirely to play with elements that may be tainted by people who SEEK controversy. The latter, regardless of what side they are on, are a bunch of frothing retards and should not be allowed to dictate the conversation, let alone the broad field of fiction.

It is not the authors responsibility to bend over backwards to make their work and vision as tame and bland as to be accepted by everyone, and to do so is its own form of pandering, politically neutral as it may be. Art, fiction included needs an interesting vision and strong execution. Bland shit of either, weather dulled down by a lack of conviction, or tainted by a need to force rather than present ideas will make the work boring, needlessly controversial and/or shit.

Simply put, someone will always be offended. Fuck them. Don't let internet outrage culture dictate the story.

I hosently don't know how to answer to something this wrong. The widely accepted opinions is that gay relationships are just as normal as hetero relationship. Homesxuality is not considered to be a diseas anymore, not is it illegal. Gay marriage is now being made legal in all the US.

If you have a different opinion about homosexuality, fine, go ahead, but you have to prove it now, you can't just assume people are agreeing with you, because now you are a minority.

How you choose to "not play it safe" ends up being a definitive part of the work.

What you seem to be advocating isn't "don't be afraid of offending someone", but more along the lines of "people shouldn't be allowed to get offended."

You also seem to be playing a bit of a subtle numbers game, which is really a poor game to play when the total number is tallied.

Really, these are all old tactics, many of which work in the short-term, but wind up having long-lasting negative effects thanks to the subject of debate being transformed to reflect something that it isn't.

It's not about offending a few people who always want to be offended, it's about a topic that is still being hotly debated, about a subject which is almost impossible to directly address due to its explicit nature and instead has to be constantly refurbished and redefined, and with so much propaganda being thrown about that it's not uncommon to see two people arguing about completely separate concepts with entirely different definitions.

Simply put, it's a can of worms, not a closed debate, and pretending it's a closed debate is just opening up another can of worms.

There's a time and place for that debate, and it's certainly not with idealized fiction at its center.

Funnily enough, the statistics argue otherwise. But, that's statistical evidence, which I guess alters the statement to "Homosexuals are significantly more likely to be pedophiles than heterosexuals, with a dramatically disproportionate percentage of child molesters being homosexuals."

It's not something you can just ignore and say "well, in my fantasy world, homosexuals aren't more likely to be sexual predators" without performing a distinct re-purposing of the homosexual identity with agency involved.

No, it's a cross state poll that explicitly asked whether homosexuality should be accepted as normal or not. The percentage is slightly over 60%. And America is one the western countries with the lowest score.
>Likely, it's just something that will never really be considered "normal," just something that will be tolerated and not criminalized.

How am I supposed to believe that gays can exist without issue in fiction when you can't even hold a discussion without flying off the handle?

>You also seem to be playing a bit of a subtle numbers game, which is really a poor game to play when the total number is tallied.

In what manner? I'm not following here.

>but more along the lines of "people shouldn't be allowed to get offended."

Not at all, what I'm saying is if you allow people's outrage to dictate your work, your work will suffer. And probably needlessly so because they'll be offended anyway.

Allowing the hot button issue of the day to decide what you're allowed to write is a bad idea. Especially since fiction can provide a window to a lot of interesting ideas and viewpoints. What im saying is that an author shouldnt be afraid to express themselves in their fiction just cause some people take issue with the subject matter. With the caveat of course, that if what you wanted to do was write a political essay, do that instead.

>There's a time and place for that debate, and it's certainly not with idealized fiction at its center.

That's exactly it. The debate should be over the subject, or the presentation, not the presentation of a subject. I know full well that isn't how it is, but we'll never get anywhere by accepting the status quo. Instead an author should stick to their guns and engage with the reasonable voices, to build or promote community and discussion amongst those, and let the worms fester in their can somewhere else.

Debate isn't unhealthy, and offense likewise should be expressed, but the outrage culture we got going these days is not something to give in to.

>citation needed

Really, what you're even arguing about are two concepts that don't even have closed definitions. Ignoring how silly it is to even ask what "Normal" is, "Homosexuality" is still a topic that is up to debate as to what exactly it means, since even the question of sexual orientation/ sexual preference hasn't been settled.

And, if you really want to play a numbers game, why not ask the entire world? Oh, looks like the majority openly condemn the concept, and many countries still punish sodomites with death. Scary stuff, right there, and the kind of stuff that might make you want to rethink the whole "let's play with numbers" business.

Yeah man I sure am glad that Joyce or Bulgakov or Bashevis Singer never included any controversial subjects, whether regarding sexuality or society or culture, in their incredibly beautiful, in their widely acclaimed works of fiction. I sure am glad that Rushdie decided to not have anything that might upset someone in The Satanic Verses, or that Nabakov opted out of writing anything that might offend anyone.

That would have been terrible, right?

>this whole debate

Disregarding the entire subject of lesbians, I don't see how you could be older than twelve and think something like Harry Potter is a good example of something better than Gunnerkrigg Court.

Harry Potter is kinda shit. The storytelling is bad. The pacing is bad, the characters - Harry especially - are extremely shallow, the worldbuilding is way way too arbitrary, and every single thing resolves the same way; some previously unheard-of magical device or principle swoops in to save the day. Either that, or the Power of Love intervenes.

GKC is not a literary masterpiece, but it does play with its themes pretty well, it does develop and flesh out its characters, and it manage to be a lot more inventive with its worldbuilding than Harry 'Deus Ex' Potter.
>>

They aren't facts if you have no proof of your claims
>>
>>40908002
>It means being attracted exclusively to people of your own gender. It's a pretty open and shut case

Now, you've got to define gender. You also have to find that person who is exclusively only attracted to their own gender, while defining what attracted even means.

Hell, there's enough room there to deny the existence of not only homosexuality, but heterosexuality, and even sexuality altogether. it's not a closed case by any measure, no matter how much you'd wish for it to be.

>And that's who is sharing your ideas: ISIS and backwater societies.

Is being attracted to women a fetish?

Fetishes are sexual kinks accumulated based on your development and personal preferences. Sexuality is defined by your biology.

I like bondage, but that's more to do with my personality than anything else, which is more to do with how I was raised and the experiences I've had than anything else. If I liked blokes but not dames, and I had done so from birth, that's not a fetish.

Not the same person.

Dunno if they have statistics, I'd have to look over the thread.

If you're calling a person a SJW for comparing your viewpoint to someone else's, you're using that term wrong. A SJW is someone who is excessively fervent about the most menial aspects of social issues, uses them as an excuse to spew vitriol.

A person who is okay with homosex being a thing that appears in fiction is not a SJW.
>>
>>40908831
I feel the same way.
>>
>>40908587
I'm not saying you're worse than ISIS, I'm saying that you, like people from ISIS, are from backwater third world country I don't care about. Maybe you and your sand people friends still think homosexuality is weird, but here in the west, in the countries that matter, that's just not the case anymore. If you want to argue from the idea that homosexuality is weird you first have to prove it to us.
>When you SJWs
I'm calling you a sandnigger, not a mean conservative. You are a sandnigger and your ideas are just not shared in civilized countries.
>>

>And, if you really want to play a numbers game, why not ask the entire world? Oh, looks like the majority openly condemn the concept, and many countries still punish sodomites with death.

Yeah... pointing out that your opinion is shared by uneducated, fundamentalist third-world masses does not help its legitimacy. I mean, a lot of the places you're getting those numbers from are the same places where witch-burnings are still a problem.

Just something you may wish to keep in mind.
>>
>>40908905
>tumblr-force ha!

Oh geez, you really need to pay attention to what's going on before you get your panties all up to your necks.

The debate is largely about how bringing up homosex needlessly will inevitably spiral a discussion out of control, and here you are, proving that right.

Keep your fetish to yourselves, like everyone else with a fetish is supposed to do, and that makes the world a better place.
>>
>>40909068
>things that cause debates are bad

Huh. I guess all the most thoroughly discussed works of fiction are bad now.

It should be noted that the one who started the debate was you. Perhaps, rather than people pretending something that does exist doesn't, you should deal with the fact that it does and simply get on with your life without engaging with it?
>>
>>40909052
Trying to paint everyone who doesn't share your opinion as uneducated is really some high-tier ignorance that goes beyond propaganda, it's just you being legitimately an idiot.

Keep in mind that most of the west still does not accept homosexuality, and the only countries that do are not really "educated" so much as they are constantly exposed to propaganda-inclined media with little to no adherence to reality.

Above all else, you're still trying to play a numbers game, but now you're just being a racist and ignorant alongside it.

It's like, your stupidity is compounding in on itself.
>>
>>40909068
The debate is largely about how sand people will inevitably ruin everything and how they should stay in their third world countries, instead of trying to push their agenda to civilized people.
