Since it has been built as the centre of government, and to keep your family safe, you live there with Isla and your daughters. It is strongly defended from both mundane and magical attacks. Your army’s elite guards compete for the honour of guarding the stronghold in which you now live. Gates, windows and doors can be heavily barred at a moment’s notice, and even moving around within the fortress requires going past guard posts. Its mystical defences are a result of you and Isla collaborating with your most skilled succubi sorcerers. Scrying on anyone or anything within the stronghold results in a myriad of false results, managing to teleport in is an impressive feat – doing so without being detected is nearly impossible. Symbols and summoned monsters can be called upon to defend the stronghold.Very long OP incoming, please be patient
The only mistake you made was letting the Committee on Urban Planning name the stronghold. Currently the vote is tied between *The Most Glorious Palace of the Saviour* and *The Jewel of Oreia* with one stubborn holdout demanding it be called *The Garden of Heavenly Delight*. Mostly you’ve been calling it *The Oreian Stronghold*.Your army is small, fifteen hundred strong, but it is growing rapidly. Thanks to your negotiating skills, some of the food your nation exports to Dornmer is paid in iron rather than gold. Your army might be small, but they are well-armed and armoured. Succubi are more used to wearing lighter armour, their fighting style based around their small size relative to other demons, but they take to heavier armour well enough.Your nation has come a long way in only a year, and many of your citizens are calling it the Great Leap Forward or the First Leap Forward. In a single year you’ve built so much, mostly around your new stronghold. This progress hasn’t come cheap; battle loot taken by your sister over years has funded your many improvements to your realm.Spying and deception has never really sat well with you; you prefer honesty and forthrightness. However you cannot deny the effectiveness of certain tactics. Thanks to Aunt Anniya and Jal, your first spies are ready to start rooting out secrets and threats. You recall the conversation you had with your Aunt over dinner, when the first few had *graduated* from her training.“They have a lot of natural talent” says Aunt Anniya, as she tucks into her food “but no real skills, no processes, no formal knowledge of what they were doing.”“Well, they din’ adds Jal “But now they do, almost good ‘nuff ter be gonophs.”“Indeed” adds Aunt Anniya “giving you a smile “Soon all of Orlaths dirty secrets will be yours.”You try not to look disapproving, apparently you fail.“I know you don’t like it” says your aunt.“I didn’t say anything” you protest.
“You hold your breath and puff out your cheeks when you’re angry” says Aunt Anniya “It looked adorable when you were twelve, not it just makes you look chubby, darling.”“And adorable” adds Jal quietly as your aunt continues.“Politics and rulership will always be a struggle” says Aunt Anniya “And spies are the thumbs in the eyes and knees in the groin – what did your combat instructors at Konigs church teach you?”“In battle pragmatism is no dishonour” you recite by rote “But Aunt Anniya, disguises and sneaking into places is one thing, but the spies....they’ll be getting close to people, turning them into nothing more than information sources and then betraying them, that’s....that’s just wrong! And if they’re discovered, whoever they’ve turned will die!”“Sireyi” says Aunt Anniya with a sigh, putting down her wine, “you have five lovely children – wouldn’t you do *anything* to keep them safe?”“Of course I would” you say “But spies and assassins Aunt Anniya? There has to be a better way!”“There is” acknowledges your Aunt “Conquer the world and convince everyone to love you – but until you accomplish that, spies are too useful a tool to pass up.”You don’t deny the usefulness of spies, they just seem so morally grey to you. Maybe you can keep then in Oreia to hunt out enemy agents.Churches to Velya go up throughout Oreia – a particularly fine one near your stronghold, with smaller chapels and shrines across the land. Poppy comes over to dedicate the main church, and you detect Velya herself walking unseen through the crowds. The Succubi that worship you seem happy to also follow Velya – you haven’t really worked out your own doctrine or written your own holy book, so for now your followers simply strive to be good. You know you need to formalise something soon. Having the Book of Jal as your only holy book could be unfortunate...
As you and Sofia did in Dalvin, so you do now in Oreia: no one goes hungry in Oreia and you make sure that everyone has shelter, access to medical care and education. The older succubi are the most cynical ones, it’s harder to win their trust. They respect you and are grateful for what you’ve done for their people, but few worship you. You persevere and eventually persuade the best sorcerers in Oreia you gather near your stronghold – to share their magical knowledge and to teach other succubi. You scour all of Oreia to find the best sorcerers, and you locate experts in almost every type of magic known. You and Isla spend time teaching them angelic magic too. In under a year you have a wealth of arcane knowledge gathered in one place. Thanks to Isla’s knowledge of magic, they are soon able to start making magical items of significant power and numbers. Those living in your stronghold and nearby have useful magical devices for a number of common tasks: Water is drawn from wells marked with purification runes; alarm spells warn guards if anyone or anything climbs over the town walls at night; light spells illuminate the streets after dark; short messages can be swiftly sent across the nation for a small fee.The trade deal with the nation of Kelsoreth has already resulted in a steady flow of money and goods both ways through the few interplanar gateways you have set up. The residents of Kelsoreth are desperate for all sorts of surface-world luxuries whilst the Oreians love the skilled jewellery and weapons the dark elves can craft.Much like Oreia, Dalvin makes use of minor magic items common; soon merchants are sending magical messengers to each other across the trading halls whilst outside enchanted guidestones lead children to their schools.
Dalvin also completes another manufactory, to help in the mass production of these common magical items. The newly opened wings of the mages guild that focus on protective and angelic magic are soon swamped with applications from prospective students wanting to improve the lives of Dalvins citizens.Towards the end of the year, you attend a ceremony where Sofia officially opens the teleportation circles she has set up for trade across the whole plane. With the whole plane under the influence of the Killing Frost, the amount of food Oreia exports is far outstripped by the demand for it. Rumours and eye-witness accounts of the Lord of Lifes conquests are also bought to Dalvin by traders. In Oreia and Dalvin, thanks to Sireyi getting personally involved in recruiting and training efforts both nations have more mages and blessed than they expected, and Oreia has more elementals willing to work with it – mostly storm elementals. Your regular troops also swell in number. You also get involved in the day-to-day running of Oreia. The Oreian parliament can be singularly united one moment, and then split into a dozen factions the next. Issues, politics, personalities, all combine to make a chaotic, yet somehow functional body. Your involvement draws the eyes of all representatives – each wanting you to support their pet projects. My making bargains, persuading and cajoling, you manage to increase the efficiency with which your realm functions.[Spending time in Parliament reduces upkeep costs by 10%]When not trying to manage the somewhat fractious parliament, you and your wives, and your allies, are exploring the planes.First you travel the planes you know of: elemental, heavenly, even hell itself. Thanks to your elemental nature you are accorded some respect of the elemental planes. Naturally the denizens of the demi-plane of storms are most fascinated by you.
Upon the elemental plane of fire you talk with some of the oldest elementals there about the Killing Frost – as some of them recall fighting it, aeons ago. Their advice isn’t as helpful as you hoped – being focused around using fire to destroy it, but their accounts match your mothers when it comes to the creatures it draws to serve it.With Isla at your side you visit places on the elemental plane of fire where you might destroy the Killing Frost and spare your own plane the resulting winter. Although there are plenty of suitable places - intense heat and small or no populations of fire elementals – according to Isla’s calculations destroying the Killing Frost in the elemental plane of fire would result in a *cold zone* dozens of miles across. Although it would likely fade in a few years, from your discussions with the elemental lords it would likely be seen as an attack upon whichever nation within the elemental plane ruled that area. Still, it is a workable plan, just one with consequences.Your travels in hell draw more succubi to your new nation. You also expand your horizons: travelling to other planes: you discover many material planes like your own – populated by mortal races who worship a variety of gods. You mostly find potential friends and future allies on this trip, though some lands you visit are torn by war. A brief trip to some of the stranger planes convinces you that spending any time there would be a major undertaking, and you leave that until another day.Although you are doing a lot of work yourself, your allies and followers are not idle. Your worship is spread on Dahandran, and on other planes. Hampered somewhat by a lack of official doctrine, you borrow much from what you were taught – mostly Velyan teaching, with some of the ideals of Konig, Mazon and Yerra as well. The number of worshippers you have is growing steadily.
You strengthen trade links and diplomatic ties to any and all of the nations of Dahandran who are willing to listen.Orlath firmly rebuffs your attempts at friendship, as you expected they would, but you still had to make the attempt.Oisen enthusiastically signs several trade deals. Some tricky negotiating is required to keep the Oisens from exploiting your own people, but between your skill as a diplomat, and the Oisens unfamiliarity with succubi, you make it work. Oisen expresses its regret that it has no interest in any alliance or agreements beyond trade when you bring up the Lord of Life and Orlath.Muiren is more than willing to talk to you, but all they want to talk about is the Azure Empire and what you can do to reduce your sister’s power. Your talks with them are fruitless.Eskia returns the envoys without talking to them.Daire welcomes your overtures of trade but as a landlocked nation there is little way the two of you can move goods and money between your nations. Dalvins network of teleportation circles comes to your rescue there. The benefits of trade with Daire are shared between Oiren and Dalvin, as you pay fees to Dalvin in return for using Sofias network. Daire promises token support to Oreia in military matters, it’s not much, but it is a start.Dornmer itself has mixed responses to your diplomatic mission. The crown and churches officially support you, as do several of the nobles, mostly those you have had personal dealings with. However a far larger group of nobles resist – not openly perhaps, but always finding excuses and picking at every wording of any sort of agreement or deal between Dornmer and Oreia, there your efforts are fruitless.
Working in Parliament you are able to persuade the various factions to throws their support behind your desire for alliances and trade. As a result more comprehensive deals are agreed and there are no back room attempts to destroy what you’re working towards: an alliance of nations against the Lord of Life.Your travels to other mortal planes have been both enjoyable...and useful. There are many nations willing to open diplomatic ties and to trade with Oreia, they simply lack the means to do so except in the most limited ways. Not all such offers are without risks – its clear many nations would want help with local matters, or might seek to exploit your nation in some way. But many seem genuine in their offer. Thanks to your extensive travels you are able to winnow through the many nations you encounter to find those least likely to cause you problems. And thanks to your work in parliament, legislation is already underway to provide a framework for trade, travel and many other issues that might arise the day you start opening interplanar portals. At your request, Jal and Aunt Anniya join the Belt Notchers when they scout out the lair of the Killing Frost. The news they bring back is grim.“How many?” you ask Aunt Anniya again. You are discussing the findings with her and Jal, after meeting with the Belt Notchers and congratulating them on their mission. The mission was a definite success: they were able to get close and see what the Killing Frost was doing without losing anyone – although Nansuj is mourning the loss of one of her favourite knives, something about a romantic encounter with white dragon having gone wrong.“Tens of thousands” says Aunt Anniya “with more on the way. Dozens of tribes, perhaps all of Ghorrend will join it. In less than a year its army will be hundreds of thousands strong.”
Ah yes, Ghorrend, a land far to the north that centuries ago used to raid Dahandran, fur-clad barbarians in ships with dragon-like wooden prows visited the shores regularly, until the early nations pushed them back. And now it seems they have a new overlord.“And it is their god now?” you ask quietly. Aunt Anniya nods “They call it *Winter Eternal*” she says “and apparently believe it will sweep away all the *weak southerners* so the Tribes of Ghorrend will rule the world.”“But” adds Jal “We heard talk that not all tribes were joining up, on account of the tribes usually worship the animal spirits like Wolf and Bear – and summa their shamans din’ wanna join up.”“We heard about them” clarifies Aunt Anniya “but didn’t see any – and from what we heard in the camps, any dissenters were crushed in battle weeks ago – or went into hiding.”“Still” you say hopefully “even small in number they could provide insight into the Killing Frosts forces. What other allies has it gathered?”“All the creatures of cold” says Aunt Anniya, her eyes tighten a little “as your mother said” ah yes, those two still...ah, a problem for another day.Aunt Anniya continues “Frost giants, ice worms, a flock of dozens of white dragons – and even some silver dragons, ice elementals, some sort of creatures the locals call *ice ghosts*, the glacier weirds have joined it en-masse, ice trolls, kraken – though we didn’t see any there are reports of them, the white bear shifters, winter wolves, we saw several titans there and a single living glacier – a walking mountain of ice.”“That’s quite a potent force” you say faintly. Even without the barbarians, it sounds like the Killing Frost already has enough forces to sweep yours away in battle. You pause to think.“Thank you for bringing me this news” you say to them both. You see looks of concern plain on their faces “it’s disturbing news, but now I know, I can plan how to overcome this.”
“There’s more” says Jal “we saw somma them *Qwekir*” she pronounces the word carefully “and like grey giants too, and some fellas in fancy armour with magical weapons.”“The Genasians” adds Aunt Anniya “though many were bitterly complaining about necessity – I suspect they may be rebels or poor or disaffected nobles of Genasia rather than an official delegation.”“Still” you say “the Killing Frost is gathering allies, and not just ones of elemental cold, that speaks of intelligence, and long-term planning. I would not have thought it of that monster.”“Perhaps its divine powers have given it greater intellect” suggests Aunt Anniya.“Or someone pulls its strings from the shadows” adds Jal“We can speculate all we want” you say “but it’s late, we should all be in bed.”“Thought you’d never ask” says Jal with a grin, as your Aunt rolls her eyes and laughs.---The next morning, after breakfast with Jal and Isla, you are thinking about what to do next. You have the Reapers Blade, the Soul Gem of Jankiris and your sister has informed you a few days ago that she received the Heart of Azulkire. You have the tools to defeat the Killing Frost itself, but now it has an army, and allies, and intelligence. You could lead your allies on a direct strike now to destroy it, before it draws more followers to its cause. You might succeed if you took everyone, but your losses would probably be high. Destroying the Killing Frost without a place to divert its energies to, could also cost a lot of lives. You could go to some of the nations of Dahandran to plead your case in person – perhaps they will listen to you where you envoys failed. If you build a big enough army you can confront the Killing Frost after defeating its supporters, making its death certain.
You could investigate the extraplanar help the monster is getting: the grey giants, the Qwekir or the Genasians. These may be its most powerful allies after all.Trade from Sofias teleportation circles has bought with it stories and rumours of the Lord of Lifes progress across your plane: conquering nations and destroying gods. Perhaps you should check on this in person. What do you do?>Destroy the Killing Frost (party options in next post)>Talk to Dahandran nation (which?)>Investigate planar allies (which?)>Investigate Lord of Lifes progress (alone? >>40423172Apologies, perhaps a pastebin would have been betterYou have plenty of time to discuss use of deific power, it can be spent at any time. The Scythes abilities are as-yet unknown to you, its powers of death are counter to yours of life and puzzling it out will take time.
Forgot add[Meta]I made errors in calculating your Deific Power, this has been fixed, still a big net gain, but not as big as previously thought.Azure Empire *is* getting upgraded, AA has submitted his ideas, I just haven’t updated the realm as yet. There are some changes to Realm rules in the works, minor tweaks mostly.[End Meta]
>>40423188>Apologies, perhaps a pastebin would have been betterI meant overwhelmed with the situation in general, not the length of the post.
>>40423188>puzzling it out will take timeAnother thing we'll need to do before fighting the Frost. How did Eskia7Eskias patron deity react to us having the Scythe, do they know?

If it's the former, sure. Are there any negatives to creating angels at full size instead of starting at Tiny and gradually increasing their level of size and power? How does imbuing angels with paladin/angel/storm/sorcery/priest abilities work? Hopefully not on a per-case basis through BotMH since that seems like it'd result in extreme amounts of micro-management fast. What would the implications be for Ebonsong if she were to suddenly jump up an age category? Is she even still doing that? Holy Weapon and Battle Mastery might be worth looking into. Voice of Command is definitely worth it given what we're building up to. Dragon powers could do with some upgrades.
>>40423316>It depends on if the pastebin would be about adventures or...something else. >>40423316>We should probably discuss Spy deployment as well.I think some 10 in Orlath and the rest in our realm to prevent infiltration would be good. That way we get 3 useful facts each year, which should be enough for now, and we are mainly concerned with keeping them from attacking us afterall.>>40423316>Dragon powers could do with some upgrades.Arcanotek might be worth getting, even if its a bit shitty that Sireyi should get that when Isla would do much better with it.
>>40423361I'm tempted to send some spies to Eskia as well. Them being secretive is making me paranoid.Maybe we can bullshit our way around that by buying the necessary draconic powers that aren't also prerequisites for other necessary draconic powers as Sireyi, grant them to Isla and then have Isla get DMI and Secrets herself?
>>40423316>Wings of Sublime Fire and Eye of the Tempest as well.I considered DP purchases first, since that was the question. We definitly need to get Eye of the Tempest, such a sexy beast of a power.
You search out Isla at the newly founded Elders Circle, where she is talking with some of the Succubi sorcerers on her projects. You catch her just before she goes into her workroom.“Yes dear?” she asks, looking distracted, her arms full of books.“I’m going to see what the Lord of Life has been up to” you say “I’d welcome your company, and your insight.”Isla casts a longing look at her lab and then sighs.“Sorry” you say “if you want to stay”“No, no” says Isla “its important, let me get my things.”---It’s not long before you and Isla are in disguise and walking through one of Sofias teleportation circles, passing through the port authorities customs in a nation called Natolone. Natolone decreed that all trade teleportation circles had to be set up in port cities, to handle transportation of goods you suppose. Still it gives you a chance to talk to locals, travellers and rumour-mongers.And rumours are thick and plentiful. Natolone is one of several nations on a distant continent, each separated by mountain ranges. It’s neighbour, a land-locked nation called Anrugal, is currently battling the forces of the Lord of Life, and losing.Refugees flood through mountain passes demanding military aid, shelter or just someone to listen to their warnings. Here in the port city, far from the border with Anrugal, few people care. The government of Natolone is engaged in a political struggle as a weak king is used as a puppet in various plots. You also see doomsday cults and preachers on street corners proclaiming the coming of the *Lord of All Life* and telling people if they submit to His Will they will be spared. Passersby don’t seem that interested, too caught up in their own lives, but some stay to watch the ranting preachers.“How can they just ignore it?” asks Isla in a baffled tone “the Lord of Life could be invading here in a few months and no one cares.”
>>40423407>Them being secretive is making me paranoid. Its understandable enough that they just hate us, considering we are a good aligned deity of Life and they are a nation ruled by undeads who enslave the living population.
“They hope he won’t get this far” you say sadly “They’re wrong, but acknowledging what’s going to happen would disrupt their lives. Say, if he does, is the Circle-”“The Circle is safe” says Isla firmly “They can be cut off from the network easily, it can’t be used to invade Dalvin.”“Ah good” you say, relieved, looking at one of the mad preachers dressed in rags “What now?” you wonder out loud. You could talk to the preachers, see if they have any actual connection to the Lord of Life: They could be his spies and agents after all.You could go and see the Nobles Council, or even the King of Natolone, to try and stir them to action. You would have to reveal your identity or break in, otherwise they’ll ignore you.You could seek out the refugees of Anrugal and talk to them about what they’ve seen. You could travel to Anrugal in person, but the Lord of Life may detect your presence.Or you could do something else. >>40423532>dark elvesDid any dark elves end up following us to Oreia?
>>40423540Only a few so far, small-scale immigration mostly. Might increase in future
“Let’s talk to the refugees” you say to Isla “maybe they can tell us more about what’s happening.”You and Isla spend much of the day talking to small bands of refugees. This far from the border with Anrugal, only the most determined have made it this far. They speak of a long trek across a nation that doesn’t care much for their presence, what help and food they received was given grudgingly. They thank you profusely when you push coins into their hands in return for their conversation.Immediately on the Anrugal/Natolone border are refugee camps – but there is not much food or shelter their, and the few guards posted there are lazy and underpaid. Bribery is required to get access to food that isn’t rotten, water that is clear. With hollow eyes many women speak of doing *what they had to* to stay alive. But as harsh as life in this foreign land is, the stories of what’s happening in Anrugal are worse. The Kings army is being pushed back, losing city after city. Individual nobles have retreated inside keeps and castles with loyal retainers. It’s only a matter of time before the army of the Lord of Life has crushed Anrugal. The army of your foe is huge, being comprised of the armies of the nations he has conquered, as well as arcane-mechanical monstrosities. Beasts and monsters of unknown description serve as its shock-troops. These creatures feat upon the dead of defeated armies and one half-mad refugee talks of living people being thrown into vast cauldrons, only to emerge as twisted monsters. Those you talk to don’t know much about the specific tactics or weapons used, but they all know that the Lord of Lifes forces vastly outnumbered those of Anrugal.
Those refugees that escaped from lands the Lord of Life has conquered tell tales of vast towers being erected that pulse with arcane energies and make everything...ok, distant..their eyes lose focus as they speak about how in the shadow of the towers nothing matters: the beasts do not terrify, thoughts of escape dwindle and the only thing that matters is obeying, doing your assigned task. They also talk of a winged woman matching Isla’s description who oversees construction of the towers. You and Isla share a worried look at that.As you walk away from one group Isla whispers to you “Sireyi, what do we do, about these people, about...It, about the other me?”“Most of the refugees are at the camps” you say distractedly “a mass break-out will result in a fight, though we could sneak them out a few at a time I suppose.”“Get me in there” says Isla, a stubborn look on her face “and I can create a teleportation circle within an hour and link it to the main network just long enough.” That could work too, but...as much as you feel for these people and the horrors they have seen, they’re not your people, does your duty to Oreia come first? Also the stories of the other Isla are worrying. Your Isla seems to be holding it together, for now at least. What do you do?(please pick only 1)>Talk to mad preacher>Go to Nobles Council (reveal identity or break in?)>Go to King (reveal identity or break in?)>Find a way to get refugees to Oreia (plan?)>Go to Anrugal>Other (what?)
>>40423532>Succubi, dark elves, humans, really mixed society forming in Oreia...I can already feel my /pol/ senses tingling.
>>40423695>Talk to mad preacherWe should talk to the parliament of Oreia before getting all these people into the countrsy. They're not going to say no, and it will make organising getting the people there a lot easier.
>>40423695>Talk to mad preacherWait, I'm confused, what is the "find a way" option talking about? The people working on the towers? How would getting the regular refugees to Oreia be in conflict with Sireyis duty to it? Because of spies?
>>40423695>Find a way to get refugees to Oreia (plan?)So, we are a Goddess, right? Basically, we have to impress some poor refugee with our magic skills, and make him drive all his buddies to the promised land. We can even open a passage through the sea using DP.
>>40423695>Talk to mad preacher
>>40423742>We can even open a passage through the sea using DPThats completly retarded, we can just teleport them, thats not the issue. We're not going to make them walk all the way.>>40423724>>40423695Adding>Telepathically contact Kaela(our secretary if I remember right), about the situation, she can briefe the parliament on it and we send first some priests here to help them out with create food and water before making the offer
>>40423736>Wait, I'm confused, what is the "find a way" option talking about? The people working on the towers?About getting the refugees in Natolone to Oreia.>How would getting the regular refugees to Oreia be in conflict with Sireyis duty to it? >>40424064>Sireyi was the evil twin all along, they got mixed up in the flight from the drowned lands
Pally, I've been thinking and it seems to me that (Spoilered as I wouldn't want to know this was coming) playing cards made in Oreia probably have Scrolls (Isla) Swords (Sofia) Gloves (Maybe rename?) (Jal) and Wings (that other one who keep telling them what to do) as their suits with some paper/stone/scissors thing for draws where Swords catch Gloves who can outwit Scrolls but Scrolls know stuff Swords need to rule well (or the other way round if that works better) with Wings always winning unchanged and I was wondering when Sireyi was going to find out?
>>40424090Thats a pretty cute idea, but I doubt Oreia already produces its own playing cards, they got other worries.

“Keep that plan in mind” you say to Isla “for now, I’m going to ask Kaela to send priests and food for these people.”“Alright” says Isla, looking distracting, perhaps thinking of her *double*. “For now” you say, nudging Isla “we talk to the doomsayer, let’s find out if they’re spies for the Lord of Life.”“What, oh yes, right” says Isla, snapping out of it “right” she says again.A short telepathic conversation with Kaela has her organising things on her end.The two of you spend the rest of the day, into the evening really, listening to the mad preachers on the street corners. Many of them seem to you to be exactly what they appear at first glance – doomsaying madmen who would be warning people about floods and the wrath of the gods if the Lord of Life wasn’t around. Some seem to be hucksters and confidence tricksters, selling useless talismans that promise to protect people against the Lord of Lifes powers. And others...others are too slick, too quick with answers to any question posed to them. They try to convince their listeners that living under the Lord of Lifes rule, though difficult, will actually be beneficial. They talk about corrupt nobles being swept away, fat merchants being hanged, whatever their audience seems to have a grip about, the Lord of Life will fix it apparently. It seems the Lord of Life is sending in agents and agitators to soften up his targets rather than simply crushing them, a smart if underhanded tactic.Whilst you’re watching one of these agents a thrown rock from out of the crowd knocks him down and splits his scalp, he falls to the ground bleeding, as a few people come from the crowd to help. Of their attacker there is no si-no, wait! You see an old beggar with a long grey beard hobbling away down an alleyway, he looks almost familiar to you...No, it can’t be...
You quickly follow him, dragging Isla behind you. The two of you head into the alley and he’s...gone?Wait, this alleyway is a dead end.“Sireyi?” asks Isla “Um, what are we doing here?”“Chasing a ghost” you say “but...he’s gone.”A quick search reveals nothing, and not even magic can find him, but maybe you can try another way.[Deific Power -1]“There!” you say, a pile of rags you had searched and *knew* held nothing turns out to be an old, greybearded beggar.“Hizrule?” you ask as the beggar clambers to his feet, cursing you.“Him?” asks Isla “but he-”“Disappeared into a teleportation circle” you say “ten years ago, after losing the Horn of Alzurad.”“Yes I did young lady!” snaps the beggar “and if not for you, this all could have been avoided!”“What are you talking about?” You ask, mystified.“If you had just let me have the Horn” claims the beggar “I could have summoned the Heroes to kill the Lord of Life whilst it was asleep – that’s why I stole it after all!”There’s a somewhat shocked pause.“Hizrule” says Isla patiently “if you had done that, life on this entire plane could have ended-”That’s true, you recall Velya explaining why the gods didn’t kill the Lord of Life – whilst in its stronghold it is essentially unkillable.“You wizards” says the beggar “so concerned with what you *know* you forget what you don’t, and Hizrule isn’t my name, it’s Kilran!”Oh. Kilran, the God of beggars himself, now that you take a close look, you realise that yes, you are in the presence of another god, one with more power than you, but not by much.Isla starts, then says “but still, that would have-”“Been hopeless?” asks Kilran, grinning at her with broken teeth “my dear, that’s my thing, I would have found a way.” He turns to glare at you “but you ruined that didn’t you – oh mighty angel holy warrior, always doing what she’s told, never thinking for yourself – bah!”
>“Conquer the world and convince everyone to love you Can we do this after we deal with the LoL?

You breathe out, and take a moment to calm yourself; you are not here to argue about things that happened years ago.“What are you doing here?” you ask“What do you think?!” snaps Kilran “God of Hopeless Causes remember? Whilst you are swanking around following higher concepts, I’m here, helping ordinary folk out, always one step ahead of the Its invasion.”“And the rock?” asks Isla “Big master plan there?” Jal must be rubbing off on her a little.“We all lose our tempers” says Kilran sulkily “Now kindly sod off!”“I want the Lord of Life stopped as well” you say to Kilran “We don’t have to be enemies, we can work together.”Kilran shakes his head “not interested!” he says “you caused this mess, I’m not relying on you to fix it missy.”“That’s unfair” you say “I did what I thought was right at the time, just as I’m doing now, none of us are going to be able to beat this thing without help.”Kilran opens his mouth to reply, then turns to Isla “so sorry about your twin, terrible thing that is, shouldn’t have happened to anyone.” He smiles at her, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. What do you do?>I’m done here (leave)>Ask about Isla’s double>Persist, try and get Kilran to join you>Other (what?)

“What about Isla’s double?” you ask Kilran, you’re sure that he’s just trying to distract you, but you still want to know.“Oh well, curious thing” says Kilran “I guess the, well, It decided that she needed improving, good luck when you encounter her is all I mean.”“What’s happened to her?” asks Isla “please?”Kilran combs his beard thoughtfully with the fingers on one hand as he explains “well, perhaps it thought the real her was too useful, or maybe it just needed more servants. Either way, the versions of her that people talk of making the towers and stuff, they’re just simulacrums – powerful ones, but just simulacrums nonetheless. And its taught her some of its own magic, so she’s a little...different in the head, less human, more...other.”“Oh” says Isla faintly, as if she’s not sure how to react to that, then adds “how many?”Kilran shrugs “dozens, hundreds? Who knows? I do know that the original always stays with It.”That’s not good, hundreds of wizards with Islas power could be difficult to deal with. Still, that’s a problem for later. You refuse to be distracted from your purpose “We share a common enemy” you say “whatever you may think of me you must at least acknowledge that. I came here to learn about my enemy to better beat him, I would really appreciate whatever help you can give.”“Huh, well, maybe” says Kilran “I’ll look in on you from time-to-time, if it looks like you have a real plan, then I’ll help, until then, you’re just flailing.” He leans on a wall, and just disappears, no teleportation, nothing, just gone.“How...?” asks Isla“I don’t know” you admit “but at least he said he’d help if we had a plan.”“And do we have a plan?” asks Isla“Not yet” you admit “but I’m working on one, c’mon, let’s go home.” It it getting rather late.
The next morning, you and Isla return in your disguises. Kaela has the priests and wagonloads of food ready to go, but you know if you just send them through the city streets without permission food could be stolen and your people attacked. They meet in a large circular building with a domed roof. You decide to do the polite thing and walk up to the door and ask the guards if you can speak to the council.“And who’re you?” asks a suspicious guard.“I’m Sireyi” you say “Queen of Oreia”“Yeah right” says the guard “And I’m the Queen of-woah!”Your magical disguise falls away and you stand there in your full glory, wings and halo included. At your side Isla likewise drops her disguise. After freezing for almost a minute the guard you’re talking to says “I’ll just go and get the- I’ll just, I’ll just go.” He rushes inside, leaving the rest of the guards staring at you.---It’s not long at all before you’re standing before the Nobles Council, with Isla up in the viewing gallery. After various nobles spend time welcoming you, you are finally allowed to speak.“Thank you all for your kind words” You say “I have come before you to discuss a very serious matter.”You talk about the plight of the refugees, the advancing armies of the Lord of Life and the suffering the people of Anrugal have endured. You talk about the threat the Lord of Life poses not just to Natolone, but to the entire plane.“A pretty speech young lady” says one noble, an old man with a well-trimmed black and grey beard “but what do you want us to do about it?”
A younger noble stands “Lord Lethgate speaks wisely” says the sycophant “The Council has many weighty matters on our minds, whilst the plight of the people of Anrugal is distressing, there is little we can do until the rights of inheritance have been settled in favour of all sons, not just the firstb-” Nobles all around the chamber start shouting and arguing, it’s some time until they’re ready to listen to you again.“I am offering to help” you say “you have many refugees, I am willing to move them to Oreia so that they will be less of a burden on you, and to offer aid against the-”“What if the Anrugals don’t want to go?” asks one stuffy-looking noble “after all we have heard your land is ruled by demons, why would they escape one land of monsters only to go and live in another, food for whatever beasts live there?”“No one would be forced to go” you say “My Lord...”“Baron High Moor” says the man “The people of Anrugal have food, shelter and safety, why should they go with you?”From what you’ve heard, they have very little of either, you open your mouth to reply, only to receive a prayer from one of your younger priestesses: Tania of the Longrunner Clan.-My Lady- begins the quick prayer –I went on to the refugee camps, there is a problem, they’re a cover, the refugees are being used to- The prayer cuts off suddenly. What do you do?>Continue talking to the Nobles>Teleport to where Tania is (take Isla?)>Leave and fly to the refugee camps (with Isla?)>Scry on Tania>Other (what?)

Leaving in the middle of a conversation would be rude, you give Isla a subtle signal and soon you feel her spell connect your minds.-Tania went to check out the camps- you say –I need you to go and look for her, I’ll join you as soon as I can, and stay in contact--Right- responds Isla, hurrying out of the chamber. You listen politely to the arguments of the nobles, as they try to justify why you can’t do anything to the refugee camps.Soon Isla contacts you again –I found Tania- she says –and several of my...doubles--Are you ok?- you ask, even as you debate the nobles on the spurious-sounding points they have raised.-Managing so far- says Isla, but you can detect a certain amount of strain in her voice as she adds –Sireyi these camps are nothing more than undead and monster factories--I’m on my way- you say. Out loud to the nobles you add “I must take my leave, there’s a problem at the refugee camps.” And amidst yells of outrage you sweep out of the chamber. As soon as you’re outside you call down the lightning and are whisked away to Isla’s side.
A scene of battle greets your eyes: Your Isla and Tania are back-to-back battling against a dozen more Isla’s and a swarm off bulky hunched over monsters with wide gaping mouths and long claws, resembling no beast or demon that you know. One of the things vomits some sort of sludge at Tania, who dodges out of the way, and then brings her halberd down on its arm, severing it.Swooping around the two the other Isla throw spell after spell, but all are skilfully countered by your Isla, her halo blazing above her head, sweat pouring down her face. The Other Isla’s are not uniform in appearance: Some have extra eyes or limbs, others have fanged maws. Still others resemble undead or a mixture of Isla and some sort of monster. All wield magic with Isla’s exacting skill however. In the background you are aware of crowds of men, women and children in chains, being herded forward into sunken pools of foul-smelling green energy. As they walk into the pools they are horribly misshapen, emerging as monsters, if they emerge at all.A crowd of humanoid automata, similar to the machines you encountered in the Drowned Lands, are their jailors.---And that’s main thread over, Mini Paladin quest soon.A somewhat shorter thread today, as I'll be busy later, but there will be a thread tomorrow.>>40425770It was the closest I could find to a consensus.

You are Milerna Jalweyen, angel-blooded and born paladin of Konig. You are 8 years old, and are attending paladin training at a church of Konig school.http://pastebin.com/RE8br4ufYou are facing off against a Talented kid, you’ve got him out-numbered four to one: You, Chesi, Thomas and Sera. But his hands are on fire and you’re in a stable, with lots of burnable stuff.“Wait, *feat* your power?” Taunts Chesi “You want us to kick you?” “Don’t make fun of me!” yells the Talented, swinging a burning fist at Chesi, she easily dodges back, and keeps mocking him.“Why is he even fighting?” asks Sera “He can’t win.”“I think he’s some sort of Channeller” you say “Like Jenny, I think maybe he wants your power Sera, you should stay back”“I’ve got no magic” says Thomas confidently, heading to help Chesi “We can take him.”He does seem scared of Chesi, maybe he doesn’t want her power? Still, the issue isn’t beating him, it’s not setting everything on fire. Also there’s an unconscious instructor in here, if the stables burn down, he could die. What do you do?>Try and talk the Talented into calming down>Let Chesi and Thomas fight the Talented, you and Sera drag the Instructor out>All of you get him, you can sort this out once you’ve beat him>Run, draw him out of the stables>Other (what?)Wrap up the cliff-hanger first, then stats for the Mini PaladingsWill this kid be another ally, or your arch-enemy?

>>40426450Sireyi did spend a lot of time with Mili, enough to be a strong influence at least, though a lot of it was off-screen. A side-effect of always choosing the option to spend time with the kids over time-skips back when that was a choice we had to consciously make, I suppose.Maybe not enough to count as raising, and not as much as Jal or Sofia, but still a strong influence. It's depressing that Sireyi had to spend so much time away from her kids that she doesn't even get to count as having raised them.
>>40426639>It's depressing that Sireyi had to spend so much time away from her kids that she doesn't even get to count as having raised them.Well. we're trying to do better with the second batch, and hopefully spend some more time with Mili and Vivi, but its not easy being a paladin queen goddess.
You don’t think, you just react; charging at Simon at full speed you slam into him and his fireball goes flying off to one side. As the two of you roll around in the dirty straw, trying to get a good grip on each other, you can smell burning straw. You hear Chesi yelling “Mili the place is burning!”“Get the instructor out!” you yell, trying to force Simon into an armlock. A good paladin rescues people “I got this!”“C’mon” you hear Thomas yell “you get his arm.”As Simon wriggles free and punches you in the face with a burning fist, you block everything out but the fight, soon everything fades away, the stables, the fire, even your friends voices, it’s just you and Simon. He’s a couple of years older than you, and he’s tall and strong, plus his hands are on fire. But you’re a lot stronger and tougher than you look, and fighting just comes naturally to you. His hardest punches barely hurt you, only when he gets a good grip and you have to deal with a sustained burn do you feel much pain. You lose track of time as you fight. You slam Simon into a wall and hit him in the stomach, hard. He responds by breathing fire on your face, actually breathing fire! You’d be kinda jealous if it wasn’t washing all over your face. You retreat, shielding your face with your arms, Simon takes advantage of this to kick your legs, making you stagger, and then he dives at you, forcing you to the ground, pinning you under his weight. You struggle and buck, trying to throw him off you. As he makes a grab for your face with flaming hands you grab him by the wrists, stopping him.“I’m going to hurt you” he says through gritted teeth, sweat pouring down his face.“I’m stronger than you” you counter, forcing his hands back and throwing him off. Soon its you pinning him, and raining punches down on his face until his nose is bleeding and his eyes are puffy and bruised.
A pile of burning wood crashing to the ground nearby distracts both of you from your fight long enough to realise...“The stables are on fire” says Simon.“Yeah” you say, trying to think of something snarky as you sweat and pant in this heat. All around is burning wood and straw. In the distance you can hear yells and sloshing water – people outside are already trying to put the fire out. Of the instructor and your friends, there is no sign. You look down at Simon, pinned beneath you as you sit on his stomach “We need to get out” you say, your rivalry forgotten.“Yeah” he says, you get off him and he stands up.“There” says Simon, pointing to a crack in the wooden wall maybe big enough for you to escape through, and there’s an almost-clear path to it. You both set out for it at a run.Suddenly you feel something snag your tunic and you’re swung around and slammed into a post. As you fall down, kinda stunned, you see two Simons rush past you yelling “Stay here stupid girl!” and then they both head for the escape. As you climb groggily to your feet you see part of the stable roof collapse...burying Simon under burning wooden boards. As you stagger over you can see him trapped beneath the burning wood.“Help me!” he begs, unable to shift their weight on his own.“You were going to leave me” you say, your head still swimming.“I’m sorry!” he says “Please!”He did try to leave you in a burning building, and no one would know, but...you want to be a paladin. What do you do?>Help him out>Leave him and escape>Other (what?)
>>40426896>Help him out

>>40427097Mili does indeed lift. SWOLE Mini Palading
A good paladin rescues people you think. Though small, you’re very strong for your age and you flip the burning wood off Simon with ease.Soon you’ve removed enough that he’s able to squirm free, and you both stagger towards the exit, coughing as smoke fills your lungs and blinds you. You both manage to squeeze out of the gap into the cool fresh air, and through eyes blurry with smoke-induced tear you can see some adults coming your way.“Oh, good” you hear yourself say, just as you pass out “We’re safe...”---You wake up lying in a bed hearing someone talking, it’s Simon.“...and then I pulled the boards off her” he says to someone “and we escaped through a hole in the wall.”You open your eyes and look around. Both you and Simon are lying in beds in the infirmary. One of the senior instructors, Lord Tavokshill you think his name is, is sat on a chair next to Simons bed, as Simon tells...a pack of lies apparently.“Ah Cadet Jalweyen” says Lord Tavokshill “You’re awake, good, how do you feel?” Lord Tavokshill is a really old man, like maybe fifty, it’s a wonder he’s not died of old yet. He has a grey beard and a wrinkled face.“Ok I guess” you say, you don’t feel hurt or burned or bruised, you must have been healed whilst you were out.“Cadet Whitegate” says Lord Tavokshill, indicating Simon “Told me all about what happened, how he and his friends attack you, how the stables caught on fire, and how he saved you when you were trapped under burning wreckage.”You open your mouth to tell him what really happened, but Senior Instructor Lord Tavokshill cuts you off, continuing “Now Simon will be facing severe punishment for attacking another cadet, for using his magic in a reckless and irresponsible way, and for burning down the stables...but” he draws the word out “rescuing you will mitigate his punishment somewhat.”
Lord Tavokshill gives you a searching look “is that indeed what happened?” Its hard to tell what grown-ups want sometimes, but you think maybe he doesn’t believe Simon. You think before you answer, just like Mama Jal told you, turn every conversation to your advantage, get what you want.Simon apparently left out the bit about smashing you into a post and leaving you to die, and lied about who rescued whom. But he told the truth about the rest at least. You could tell the whole truth, and Simon would face a lot of punishment, or you could agree with his version of events – then he would owe you. He’d also owe you if you claimed not to remember. You could also mix truth and lies a bit too. What do you say?>I don’t remember>Simon lied (tell whole truth)>Simon is right>Tell you own story (with what details?)

“Maybe if you stop doing bad stuff” you say reasonably “You won’t get in so much trouble”Simon glares at you, seemingly unable to come up with a good retort. He lies down in his bed and turns over, facing away from you. You still hear what he says clearly though.“I’m going to get you back” threatens Simon “No matter how long it takes, I’m going to get you.” [Antagonist acquired]---And that’s the end of Mini Paladin in-character stuff for today. Next thread will feature time-skip for Mili and friends as well as (hopefully) stats. Now there is a powers vote coming up: over the next year Mili develops a new power, players will get to pick which it is, this is an OOC vote.First will be a category vote, then a second vote on the specific power from that category.Categories will be: Angel, Succubus, Life – mirroring Sireyi’s current domains. Before everyone jumps on the Succubus, let me tell you where that ‘bus is headed. At this point succubus powers will only have available: emotion-reading powers, shapeshifting and stat-boost powers. No seduction powers, and no mind-altering side effects.Picking a power now will not lock off later power choices.Angel powers are those in the standard rules – Mili will generally gain the first rank in a power.Life category will include stuff like physical stat boosts, access to druid magic and fast healing.Category vote in 10 minutes, vote will last for 5 minutes.

>>40428910>can we use the succubutt domain to give them angelic children? You disappoint me Mathrian>Opposites Attract: Ordinarily, it is impossible for angels to have children with any kind of demon without direct divine intervention due to their conflicting natures. Due to Sireyi's domains, this is no longer true for her Succubi and Angel followers. Angels and Succubi can conceive children just as easily as any mortal couple, or perhaps even moreso due to following a Goddess of Life. Non-succubi demons would still require divine intervention.Requires: Angel, Life and Succubi domainsCosts 0XPRequires 3 deific powerTheological scholars called a hypothetical demon/angel hybrid a *Nephraham*, though the word had negative connotations. If we're going to empower Mili, let's at least go for Storms or Life. >>40429266>but I'd rather supplement existing powersets in this instanceWhich is why I thought taking Fire would be best, since it gives her +Strength which makes her better at the close combat fighting thr focuses on. The Imbuing doesn't give any elemental themed powers on its own, except for Wood and Storm, which is part of why I suggested it. I hate too much powerset diversification. But Air-Chesi and Fire-Mili would be just improvements on existing ones without adding new stuff.
>>40429266>Powerset diversification is fun and all, but I'd rather supplement existing powersetsWhy would you suggest the ones that give her powersets she doesn't already have then? The forest doesn't give elemental powers, beyond giving a reduction on the relevant MMA.

>>40429385>It'll make her more of a fellowship monster and air style kinda sucks.Fair enough, I thought more about her sneaking, but Fellowship fits too, true.>>40429385>and gives Perfect Existence as part of it's styleIts going to be a long long time before Mili could possibly get Perfect Existence. Even if it is, in fact, amazing. The rest of Wood is a bit too support orientated for my taste. And again, its not like Fire would give her additional elemental powers. No matter, either Wood or Fire.Especially because it would make our sister absurdly happy to get to spend time with Mili/Vivi teaching them MMAs
>>40429385>>40429483While you guys mentioned it. We need a purchase sheet for Blue giving her full Wood and Fire style so we can start teaching that to other characters. She has the nodes and more free XP than Sireyi.
>All this love for Perfect Existence>No one worried about a young girl getting the ability to rip peoples souls out
>>40429522Mili is a good girl, she would only do it to people who deserve it.
>>40429522It's not like she'd be keeping them or would do it to people that she wouldn't have killed anyway. I mean, what's the big difference between separating someone's soul from their body with magic and separating it by stabbing them to death?I am worried about it backfiring and instakilling her, though.
>>40429385>I'd rather Chesi get WaterBut I already used my wet dream joke in PRQ.On another note I notice that Sofia would need to triple taxes or start selling random children into slavery to drop below 100% approval. Is there any bonus for that buffer of love?
>>40429522Mili is not going to have 30AE anytime soon.If ever.>>40429513Blue329/454 spent>Wood Style 1-5 -75XP>Fire Style 1-5 -75XPThat sound good to everyone?
>>40429583>Is there any bonus for that buffer of love?I'll see if I can think of one
>>40429594>That sound good to everyone?I wouldn't know what else to spend her XP on anyway.
>>40429594Sure, if AA doesn't have any different plans.
>>40429583I have plans.I'll tell someone about them once I remember what they were.>>40429594Add about thirty thousand tendrils.
>>40429665>Add about thirty thousand tendrils. The tentacles really grew on you it seems.
>>40429686once they get a hold of you, they never let go
>>40429665>>40429656I was thinking for every 10 approval above 100 we get a point of prosperity that gives a bonus to things like growth and income but I can see it quickly getting out of hand as we get more and more until we brake the game but then I remember that this is Paladin of Joy quest where that's half the point.
>>40429870ala soviet-esque approval of Great Leader?
>>40429932I don't think soviet approval of their leaders actually made things run any better.
>>40429966well, it was the only think of to describe approval ratings of over 100%
>>40429932We already made a Great Leap Forward.Just without all the mass-starvation, and with actually going forward.
>>40429932Sofia could open a church to herself and most of her people would be fine with it. Maybe we could get extra DP.
>>40430025If it weren't for Sireyis wishes Sireyi would be the only deity allowed to be worshipped in Dalvin.
Did we really end a Paladin of Joy thread at 9:30 Pally? Are you taking an early night or something?
>>40430641He's got a RPG session, he said it already earlier.
>>40430641my monk is getting his head kicked in.
>>40430707>my monk is getting his head kicked in.May the dice be with you.
>>40430707>monkOh, well. Good luck.
>>404308755e Monks do not suck as much
