"I'll grab the twins!" Her voice chokes out off-pitch. But it's too late. You could hear the bellow from miles away. But, you were less than a half of one from the source. It shakes the ground, rocks jumping for fear at your feet. Rhythmic quaking of the ground alongside the tremendous blasts of buildings crumbling confirm it.The Pursuer has come. The Pursuer has your scent. It will follow you to the ends of the earth, and beyond. You are out of time.“We don’t leave kids to die, Red! HURRY UP!” you yell at the stumbling lady, another rumble of Earth emphasizing the issue. Sublety is out the window now….IT knows you’re here. The steps don’t quicken. IT knows you have nowhere to go.Your heartbeat begins ticking down the seconds- and split seconds- in the slowing world around you. Your veins strain and deliver pressure. Time itself seems to stop around you with every quaking step chiming away another second of what precious time you have left. You hear panting from what could be a small crowd behind you, and without looking you know who it is. Whatever few seconds of safety padding you had are gone for these blacksmiths. At least their ability to make ammo is worth it…..how do they know how to construct firearms in a premodern era?Another Boom as well as the whimpering directed your way by the crippled soldier shakes you from your trance.

He's floating knight with a sack full of swords, can rush us down. Pursuer will target Spike as highest priority. Red, grab the twins and use whatever means to get them to the designated safe zone for when we warp out. Spike will hopefully survive. Battering Ram, tarots, and Fireball will be our prime abilities in surviving, with Odin's Muse shot and Entrench as desperate last resort. Spike's main job will be dodging and weaving through the city streets and alley ways, if there's a dead end, use Battering Ram to maintain momentum and keep running. Oh man, this one is gonna be interesting>Tarot Card drawn>Writing
Instinctively, you reach for the deck of tarot cards in your pocket. These things may have some strange effects, but they could be the best chip you had in this game. You take a glance over your shoulder to a frazzled yet alert Red, their previous holder, holding the sniffling twin brothers underarm.Well, second-best chip, maybe. With a soft rustle you take the top card, hoping to whatever God actually is in power that your dead wife does ghost up next to you in the 6th sense style.Rather, an extremely powerful, authoritative man stares back intently at you and far beyond. He is dressed not nobly, but godlike in purple, red, and other regally hued cloths. He sits on a stone throne, upright in a mundane power and adorned by ram skulls.Even you know of this card:>Card 13: The EmperorYour mind seizes as it is suddenly stuck by surging testosterone, burning desire in the front of your brain. Reflexive, you tense ever muscle in your body at one in an explosive cry. You feel strong, stronger than even possible under normal limits. Your biceps and quads throb as if in agreement, their surging aching for action bringing a heated rhythm to your breath. The handle of the shotgun creaks ever slightly in your iron grip. Additionally, you feel…a gnawing uncertainty in the recesses of your mind. For a flash, you see yourself in another’s eyes: slightly crazed, flexed, and looking like you’re a predator on the hunt. You feel worry, pride, and anxiety…as well as shame.>You have greatly enhanced physical capabilities for 5 actions. Also, you have a temporary and crude link with the ‘Empress’. You can “hear” rudimentary thoughts and emotions from the Red Lady.
>>40413430The pursuer is here with a sack of swords, ready to chase you down. You're just here, sacked up, ready to beat a demon bitch.Speaking of which, it still hasn't showed up. The whimpering continues, but the booming stopped. Now would be the last time to ask for advice..."The hell are you waiting for, Spike?!" Red hisses. With one last breath, you take off. The small slice of imminent street grows larger as you gallop towards the exit like the ground to a sky diver. As you blast through your first strides out of the gate, you immediately “hear” the same voice like emotions scream at you to duck.Your legs burst out, launching you like the shambly hulk of a rocket ship you are through midair- carried by the pure thrust of momentum from your 40 yard dash seconds prior. Somersaulting, you can feel a cool wind whirl past you and a shadow block whatever rain striking you in the back. The soldier screams- presumably for mercy or deliverance- but cannot finish before a titanic strike like an entire crate of TNT erupting at once obliterates him and the entire quarter of the building he rested on.Without even looking back, you clench your abdominals, throw your legs, and whip mid-air to shoot a globular sphere of flame at the Pursuer himself. Impact, a bellow, and a gale of hot air. Propelled even farther, you land in a manner some might call less than graceful before hopping to your feet instantaneously. The Pursuer, all twenty-five feet in height, is erected before you. Removing a colossal gauntlet from the rubble with ease, you see it’s enshrouded in vapors of inky black. Immediately covered are haphazard sheets of armor, plates, and mail. It has an armory’s worth of weapons attached to these few metal barricades. A single red eye looks through a full-headed helm. You see a tainted, bestial form underneath. >65 (DC50 for water skate, 1st degree Success) Before anything or anyone blinks in your demonic mexican standoff, you dredge the inspiration of the previous tarot card, the King of Cups, and the dome which seemingly baptized you. It had been fluid in its expression and unwavering in its purpose: the water itself seemed to have an inevitable destination in mind, skating through your own thoughts to the hidden depths. You spit on the ground, your lungs had started to burn and mucus was building up in the back of your throat from the last stunt. The rain continues to fall and the puddles around your feet get wider. And deeper.Wait, the rest of the ground is wet but not that wet. Looking down, you see two-inch thick puddles have amalgamated around the soles of your shoes in vague, disk-like, bubbling shapes.>Nat 100 (DC75 for escaping Pursuer engagement, undeniable success) Without a second thought, you jump with enhanced speed and simultaneous pitch ano9ther A-League ball o’ fire. This time, it seems that the fireball had been tainted with the remnants of your watery thoughts; the gushing flare was more the size of a small table this time around, burbling and ebbing within itself as it shot forwards…. Right into the right eye slot of the Pursuer. There- still burning- it stuck to the metal helm, continuous burning like a spitball from hell. The pursuer briefly stumbles with a growl, swatting at its face. The sound of metal on metal screeching against one another scratching against your ears like nails to a chalk board. >86 + 15 (+10 water skate) (DC75 for run and gunning, Undeniable success) You’re off and running faster than a Ukrainian Speed Skater at the conclusion of the Sochi Winter Olympics. You think you’ve seen professional cyclists riding this fast before on TV. With the layer of water on the ground, your already enhanced, thrusting legs and being continuously boosted by the veritable force of a river. You maintain perfect balance.
You whirl past the antique shop and in the brief second see two dead corpses of red-iron armored soldiers inside. The grandpa could handle himself, seems like. There was also an empty spot where the skeleton of the jaguar used to be and empty shelves. The Tavern is aflame. Glowing bodies run in and out of the embers, fizzling out shortly in the continuous downpour. You see the bartender as well as a few of the adventurers fighting for their lives amid wreckage of the establishment. The bellowing screech and the rolling thunder from behind you is all you need to hear to know your head start is up. Ahead, you see the dojo still intact. The general store is fully abandoned and desolate as you skate by- everything looted. The clapping earthquakes grow closer and you flip 180 degrees and continue your pace- gliding backwards though. The pursuer is catching up. Slowly, but surely; it's as if you're trying to outrun an eighteen wheeler while you're an electric scooter.Past the storefront and in the dirt roads you see a squadron of red-iron invaders approaching at speed. In the distance, you see a object on the horizon spanning the entire horizontal breadth. The Pursuer lunges for something on it's back carapace. What do?>Duck through a building (Which)>Cast? Eyes strained by both the hormonal burst of the Emperor and the steady swirling winds blowing past you, you search for iron will in your own gut. That thing isn’t getting you or anything else today.“PUT IT DOWN,” you below, with a swing of the arm. The beginning of what looks like could be a spiked metal telephone pole edges over the Pursuer’s pauldrons as it readies to launch…*CRACK*With a snap, the item slams back into the Pursuer’s back with another force to cause a brief stumble before righting itself and its former pace. Still gave you an extra half-second though, in which you readied your next move.>95 (DC 55, undeniable success)“WOOOOOOAAAH…” You grit your teeth as you divert towards the ruinous general store. The Pursuer is struggling against the magnetic forces sticking the weapon, what you figure to be some sort of ridiculously large javelin, to its own back. With a heaving crash and roar, it rips the javelin and attached carapace off its own back. You feel the magnitudes of forces from ahead.“YEAAAAAH,” You bust through the shoddy wooden wall of the store, skates carrying your momentum through the wall entirely. >Skate to the back of the store, side street>Prep something while skating (Shotgun, Cards, etc)>Make a collect call to: RED LADY>Go through the western wall, bust through side-by-side buildings like the Kool-Aid man until you encounter the soldier>Do the same , but east- double back.>Look for anything useful in the few seconds you’re busting through the general store.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9oyQTKUmZU&list=RDGTa_kGaCGgs&index=2 You circle around the edges of the store as the fluid momentum of the skates carries you along. These things can’t really stop on a dime, it seems. Lowering your shoulder and aiming towards the western wall, you plow full speed ahead. Thick rainforest plywood and furs splinter in thousands of pieces and you leave a spike-sized hole in the wall before busting through the next-door one… rather loudly. You keep your shoulder down, hand open ready to launch a fireball ahead if needed. With your other, you snatch your shotgun with a deft motion.>84 vs 97 (Failure) A shrill whistling of wind is all you hear as you bust through the next toothpick of a wall. You don’t even take a full step (skate) before the whistling grows to a pitched screaming howl. Before you can turn- left hand full of fire and right hand full of lead- the impact blows nearly the entire wall away. The javelin is the length of a small house and as thick as your average street lamp; the whistling is sourced from multiple, fluted holes in its shaft that lessen up towards the jagged, obsidian tip. It hits your left side, specifically your left arm, like a car; the force of the attack forces off your feet and into a midair spiral off-right through the wall you were about to run through. You can’t feel your left hand, and see droplets of blood streaking the ground as you are launched. With a plummeting crack, the spear embeds itself in the soil and underground bedrock up to the shattered metal carapace still attached to it- halfway up the shaft.
You crash through the front of the unmarked building, water skates dispensed into mere mist from the force….right behind the troop of red-iron soldiers. They still have not fully comprehended what just happened, what with a dude busting out of sealed boxes of wood like Christmas. You lie on your side, struggling to get up.
