Previous Episodes: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Post-Apocalypse%20Magical%20Girl%20QuestTwitter: @echogarroteLast Ep: Lupa and Emmy made their way to Joy-In-Meadow's mansion. Inside they discovered that Meadows was a person who didn't know how to best spend her money, along with a squad of the People-Of-Joy. That lead to a fight in the kitchen, where people were set on fire. Lupa and Emmy emerged triumphant, and then discovered Joy-In-Meadows' body. Lupa decided to, once again, touch the mind of a Joy-In-Heart. Meadows seemed much more open to the idea of being trapped in Lupa's mind, and years upon years of lingering. She was also happy to give the two girls her wheels, a silver cadillac convertible. The pair then decided to take the road trip to Joy-Home, and the University there. Home of the mysterious Voice, that had been helping them. However, this story isn't just about them...
>>40285204 You are Amelia Nimh. You have done nothing wrong. You’re traveling outside of Genesis without authorization, carrying Genesis supplies that haven’t been recorded, and you’ve released a VERY dangerous man who was being held for questioning. You haven’t done anything wrong. The presence of the Confessor kid is a bit of a curveball. However, Pytor tolerates his presence, and lets him ride in the passenger seat. Judging by the intel you were given on the man, that’s a high display of trust. You need to get to that level of trust if any of this is going to work. The only question is, if the kid is standing in the way of that. Ah well, not a serious problem…yet. Also, a third firearm on your side is not a poor asset to have. The RV stops as they get to the other side of the bridge. You see the pair look at each other. It’s hard to read their faces, since Pytor’s face has only one mood: stern, and Ray is wearing those dumb looking sunglasses. “What’s up?” You ask. “There’s a group of raiders that live in the city.” Ray says. “They’re…um…”“She knows, tell her.” Pyotr says. “What? How?” Ray asks, and then looks at you. You motion for him to continue. The boy sighs and shakes his head. “They’re like Lupa…kinda.”(cont)
>>40285233 You hope your face doesn’t display the amount of alarm bells going off in your head. “Kinda?” “They’re…what did she call them?” Ray asks. “Small Joys.” Pytor says. “Right. Well, they can’t change like Lupa can, and they’ve only got one, or maybe two, abilities.” Ray says. “There’s five, wait, no…six, six of them. They jumped us when we were salvaging here. We’re probably going to have to go through their territory.” “How do you know?” You ask. Pytor points at a row of propaganda posters. “They put those up around the city. One of them can see through them. It’s how they spot prey.” “Huh.” You say. Your goal is to find Lupa and the missing girl, Emily. However, intel on these ‘small joys’ would be useful. Of course, you’re useful to no one if you’re dead. > Let’s punch on through the territory. If they want trouble, we’ll handle it. > We should try to find a way around, and avoid them.
>>40285257> Let’s punch on through the territory. If they want trouble, we’ll handle it.

>>40285257What kind of weapons do we have on us?
>>40285388"We can't afford to waste time." You say. "Let's punch on through."Pytor nods and drives forward. "Watch the posters." He says to Ray. "You see movement in them, tell me.""Right." Ray says. The city is fairly clear, the buildings mostly collapsed into themselves. The real danger is all the overgrowth. The roads in some places are a field of green grass and leaves, hiding potholes and deadfalls big and deep enough to wreck the car.> Roll 1d10Also> Try to talk to Pytor> Try to talk to Raymond> Stay silent

>>40285527>>40285715>>40285581Well, the drive seems to be going smoothly, with no interruptions from either the road or freaky raiders. You look at the Confessor kid. >>40286151"Umm...why are you wearing those things?" You ask.Ray puts a protective hand up to them. "These were the only pair of sunglasses that we had. You know how it can be, you are thankful if your salvage suits your needs. If they're stylish, then you get on your knees and thank God for the miracle."You look out the window of the RV. It's not that bright out. Cold, of course, but there's some cloud cover today."Don't those things make it hard to see?" You ask."Nah. See, that billboard up ahead, the one that has the ad for a divorce lawyer, I can tell you the number of it, if you like." He says."Umm, which one?" You ask, looking at the different signs. They're all in Original Civilization. "Wait, you can read Civ?"Ray shrugs. "A little...I mean...Lupa's better." He's backpedalling. Ray's not that good of a liar. "But yeah, I can figure out Civ if you give me a moment. Anyway, it's that one. The one with the ivy and the white flowers." He pointsThat billboard that he's pointing towards has to be at least five blocks away. You can't even make out the numbers, and the white flowers might as well be specks to you. Interesting. You're not sure what any of it means, and you don't have any proof that any of this is related. However, it's just another piece of strangeness to add to the pile.> Roll 1d8

>>40286507>>40286587The RV continues through the city, and it looks like you're making good time. >>40286716"So..." You give him a little grin. "You and Lupa are an item?"Ray stiffens and brushes a hand through his hair. "It's umm...well...she's always out wandering and salvaging, and I have my duties at the ranch. So, we only see each other so often, but when we do..." He's blushing. He clears his throat, and takes and breath and then nods. "Yes. I mean...I feel that Lupa is very special to me, and I believe that she...cares for me too."You hear a soft 'tsh' from Pytor. Ray apparently has missed it."Ah. So you two have been together." You say with a smile. You can't help but needle this kid. It's such an easy target. "I take it that you've been together biblically as well, correct?""That's none of your business!" He says a tad too loudly. Well, that's a firm yes."Just once, or...?" You grin."I'm DONE talking about this." Ray says, in a huff, looking away from you.You look at Pytor. He shakes his head."You okay with that?" You ask. "It wasn't a 'drunk at a party' thing, was it?""The boy's still alive." Pytor says. And that answers THAT question."Alright, alright. I'm done joking." You say. "You really care for Lupa?"Ray looks at his hands. "It's...she's...yeah. I think she's amazing, and now that's she's...special. I mean she always WAS special...but now." He takes a big breath. "Now I have to help her, to thank her for everything, and because she's...special to me. Also, this is the right thing to do, helping her after she saved my Father. She was given her gifts from God, you know. To help us, so now God has put me to task to help her. To show that we're able to stand on our own feet and not rely on her."You nod. "Sure." The kid is running on faith, and swimming in hormones."That's how the world fell...or one of the reasons. God blessed the world with angels and wonder, and we forgot how to be people. Thus when we were tested, we found we could not stand on our own, and humanity and all of its wonder fell."That's... not a completely inaccurate way of looking at things.
>>40287114You frown. "I don't think I've heard that from any of the Confessor preachers that visit Genesis."Ray tilts his head back and forth. "It used to be. It's part of the scripture that Preacher Wyatt Williams, my great-great-grandfather, found in the Old Church." Ray nods. "He says that he was guided to it by a Messenger...although that might be poetic license. Probably just found it. Anyway, over the years, we've left out a lot of the fancier stories, except for the important ones about the Messiah, God, and Heaven. Raymond William the First found that people get WAY too attached to strange stories." He nods. "He says that voices in the night gave him messages from God, telling him how to tend to his flock. Again, probably stretching the truth just a tad.""You don't think they heard or were guided by God?" You ask."Oh they were...just that when you say that people start to expect that THEY'LL hear God's voice or see shafts of light shining down from the Heavens." Ray shakes his head. "God is real, but when his will is done, you'll never notice it. So, God helped W.W. find the Scripture, and guided Ray The First, but..." Ray clears his throat. "Anyway, fancy stories lead to people wanting them to be true. This is a time where faith needs truth.""But you're bringing back the stories about Angels and the End?" You ask."Well...now that we have a better idea of what the 'Angels' are." Ray shrugs. "I think Dad has a lot to think about.""But you believe that God wants to to find Lupa, your 'special' angel?" You ask.Ray's face goes a little cold. "Don't make fun of stuff like that. Please.""Sorry." You say. Ugh, Confessors...touchy bunch.> Roll 1d6

You ask."Not sure, but I know that it loops around without us getting close to the problem." He says."What problem?" Ray asks."There's a bunch of cars blockading the road." Pytor says. "Cars that aren't wrecked and still have their wheels.""Ohhhhh." You and Ray say at the same time.Crap. Ambush 101."Good news is, we get past that, we can get to the elevated freeways that are still standing." Pytor says. "Those go north for miles.""Yeah, but at this point, we're kind of guessing the trail, aren't we?" Ray asks."Genesis scouts and reports saw the van heading into the city, going north, and tower scouts spotted bird activity, and animal movement on the raised highway." You say. "It's as a solid lead as any we're gonna get.""It would be better if we got a stronger lead from people who maybe saw the van up close." Ray says."Your suggestion?" Pytor says."We know it's a trap, how about we flip it and trap them. It might be just normal raiders." Ray says. "We grab one, interrogate them, and either way, we're through the barricade.""Or dead." Pytor says. However, you can see that he's not dismissing Ray's plan.> No, not risking a fight. However, there is a light coming from within the RV itself."What's going on?" One person asks another."I...don't know." They reply. From along the side, the door to the RV pops open, just a little, spilling more light onto the ground."Okay, hang on!" A voice cries from inside. "I'll move them, just let me get dressed. He slowly walks out of the RV, stepping on the first man's chest, causing him to wheeze and groan."Fuck me." The second man says. "You're that salvager."Ray and you follow Pytor, rifles out, sweeping the street. You're a little more general in your sweep, but Ray's just pointing his rifle in one direction. Amateur. Well...he's still covering SOME of the area."Where's Lupa?" Pytor asks."She was with our brethren, heading to our Sanctuary." The man says. "Where she can be trained the proper ways of her Being. She's meant for better things than to rip copper wire out of drywall like the rest of you Sad Shadows.""Wait...sad sha-are you Righteous Path?" Ray asks."Too well equipped." Pytor says. "But I bet they have close ties."The man just scoffs. "You know, we looked you up Strakel. Once it was clear that you were...a factor...in this. Do you know who you truly were? What you were meant to be? The last True Strakel, was a Tributary man, Unaccepting, and an inspector at a soda bottling plant. You spent all your days, gazing at bottle of soda, looking for roaches." He grins. "We heard that Gaft was SO broken hearted when he found that out. He was hoping you were something truly humble, like a garbage man, or a janitor. Not a little nothing in a white coat, and a white plastic hat, in a white factory. That's what you are, Strakel.""What is he TALKING about?" Ray asks."I have no idea." You say. "So, what? You take the .357 you borrowed from the RV and you put it to the man's head.Pytor grabs the talkative man's shoulder and spins him around. He's big enough to hold the man, and keep the shotgun firmly lodged in the man's back."And what exactly were you hoping to gain from this?" The talkative man says."You're sweating." Ray says with a grin. "And I can see the veins in your neck pulsing really fast.""Inbred hick, you profane the gift in your blood with your every breath." The man says through gritted teeth, and then he makes a little noise as Pytor presses the shotgun a bit firmer into his back.Sad to say, with Pytor focusing on looking scary, and Ray using his eyes to do...whatever he's doing...you're the only one who can answer the earlier question. What now? What's your first demand?> Demand that these people move the barricade.> Demand that everyone comes out into the open, hands up.> Demand that they tell you where Lupa and Emily were taken.> Demand that the rest of these people take off.

>>40290883"It's in Tributary, or what used to be Tributary." One of the guys behind the car barricade says. "You follow the highway north, until you get to a giant bridge with arches on it. That's the border.""Shut UP!" The talkative one says."Oh will you shut up, Henry? You've been hanging around Mel too much. We're trying to save your life." The Direction man says."I'm just one part of our glorious whole! YOU are supposed to KILL these bastards. It's thanks to THEM that we have this problem in the FIRST place!" Henry says."See, this is why no one likes having lunch with you." The man says. "After the bridge, you get to this big looping maze of highway circles, on and off ramps, and tunnels. That's the Tributary Turnpike. The People Of Joy take Sanctuary within its heart.""Which is?" You ask.He shakes his head. "No deal, Genesis. You manage to get up there, you can find the place yourself."Alright. So, apparently now we're talking to someone with a brain cell. Good to know.Next move...>Continue demands>> Demand that everyone drops their weapons.>> Demand that these people move the barricade.> Demand that they take off.> Ask who these people are and why do they want Lupa and Emily> Take your hostages into the RV> Execute your hostages and start shooting
>>40291157>>> Demand that these people move the barricade.
>>40291157>>> Demand that these people move the barricade.Right, they want the friend to live. We can use that. Let us pass and we let the guy go.
>>40291157>> Ask who these people are and why do they want Lupa and Emily
>>40291157>Demand that they take off.
>>40291157I like direction man.Anyway, >Ask who these people are and why do they want Lupa and Emily>Demand that they take offWe may need to do a lot of shooting, no sense in wasting bullets on these small fries. Gonna have to find a way around the barricade though.
>>40291292Some of them have guns. We could take their ammo.
>>40291157>>> Demand that these people move the barricade.>> Take your hostages into the RV
>>40291188>>40291198>>40291213>>40291373You take a deep breath. "Alright, now this is how it's going to go. You two are going to move those cars. Then we, and our two friends, are going to get into the RV. We'll drive for a bit, and then they'll get out. After that...well...then we all have to make some life choices."You see the two men by the barricade turn and talk to each other."You release Barry first. He's hurt, and we don't trust him with you if things go south." The rational one says. "You do that, and we'll do as you say."You are currently hiding behind Barry. If you give him up, you're giving up your cover.> Deal> No deal
>>40291444counter offerwe keep him until we get in the RV then release him
>>40291444>DealMove into the RV with the person and as you get into the the RV let him go.
>>40291469I can back this.
>>40291444>> DealIf the gun guys try to take a shot they'll just critfail and shoot their friends in the back. This is the level of ability I've come to expect.
>>40291506"Deal." You say. "But we let him go the minute me and the Holy Abomination get in the RV." The pair of you start to back up."I'm kind of not okay with being called that, Windup Doll." Ray says."It's that or Lover Boy." You say."I was hoping for something cool...like God's Eye." He says. You choke back some laughter. "You are way too much of a baby face for a name like that 'Angel Eyes.' ""Oh no, that's even worse!" Ray moans. The two of you get into the RV, and shove Barry out. You hear Pytor moving, and hear two people running forward, you see two people from across the street, keeping their arms up, running towards Barry who's fallen onto the ground again.Henry seems to be struggling in Pytor's grip and muttering curses about 'weak willed cowards.'> Roll 1d20
Rolled 7 (1d20)>>40291645
Rolled 3 (1d20)>>40291645Lol at Ray wanting a chuuni name.
Rolled 16 (1d20)>>40291645
Rolled 18 (1d20)>>40291645
>>40291645We should call Ray "Doe Eyes" next.
I wonder if she's a fan of the Dollars trilogy...
Our chance to slaughter these guys is rapidly escaping us.
>>40291804Honestly, these guys don't seem like a bad bunch, even if we are on opposing sides
>>40291929That's true, but it only makes them more dangerous. We hesitate, like right now.
>>40291674You hear Pytor make a grunt and see him 'nudge' Henry in the back of the head with the shotgun. Unsafe, certainly, but you doubt that Pytor cares. Henry makes a small grunt in return and stops struggling. "Can you drive?" Pytor asks you."Yeah." You say."Ray, left pocket of my jacket." He says.Ray sticks his hand in and pulls out a pair of keys, which he gives to you. You go and start up the RV, and watch as the People Of Joy (whomever they are), move the cars.Pytor gets into the RV with Henry and pretty much pins him to the ground with his knee, keeping the shotgun firmly pressed into the base of his skull.Ray is frowning and tilting his head, closing his eyes.> roll 1d20> Roll 1d20
Rolled 10 (1d20)>>40292005how many d20s were we supposed to roll?
>>40291976It's a two-way street. They may change their minds about us once they know of our mission; it's not as if these guys are die-hard believers, they're just following orders.
Rolled 12 (1d20)>>40292005>> Roll 1d20
Rolled 4, 6 = 10 (2d20)>>40292005Uh. I'm going to roll 2d20. You can ignore the second.
Rolled 18 (1d20)>>40292005Two rolls or typo?
>>40292005so 2d20?or pick one of the d20 to roll for?
Rolled 6 (1d20)>>40292005
>>40292047They know our mission: Saving Lupa and Emily.Amelia needs to focus on gaining Pytor's trust, though. These people are not Pytor. With his The Cat Comes Back philosophy I can't see him being okay with letting these people live.
>>40292099His strategy is also staying alive, and fighting several well armed people is a terrible idea.
>>40292099I meant the goal above that>>40292143We are not Pytor, not at this moment, at least
>>40292170>I meant the goal above thatThere's a goal above that??? You probably need to inform Pytor and Amelia about this.
>>40292052(Typo, I'll ignore the 2d20.)"They're talking about new ways to catch their targets." Ray says. "They say that they're no longer going to listen to Henry's plans.""Bastards! My plans are tactically sound and precise!" Henry says."Yeah, well, how come we're driving away, and you're getting a carpet facial?" Ray says."Because, you weren't MEANT to show UP! It would have WORKED on the BRATS." Henry says, spittle flying from his mouth. "Sssh!" Ray holds up a hand, and then he smiles and then frowns. "Apparently, they're planning on us killing ourselves on the bridge. We don't know the 'trick.' "Henry swears and curses at Ray, continuing his standard line of 'He is unworthy of such blessing' insults. If that's true, then the bridge is probably going to be a deathtrap. However...if you had someone with you, who's afraid to die, they could tell you how to get past the bridge. You slowly roll past the barricade. If you welsh on the deal, there will be some pretty obvious consequences. However, you're very certain that if charming Henry is with you when you hit that bridge, you'll be able to get over it without problem. Otherwise, you'll be risking it on your own. You're getting to the point where you should probably let Henry go.> Let Henry go.> Keep Henry hostage.
>>40292253>> Keep Henry hostage.
>>40292253> Keep Henry hostage.
>>40292253>Let Henry go.I assume that super senses Ray should be able to detect what sort of deathtrap the bridge is. Alternatively we never said what condition Henry would be in when we let him out we could threaten him in order to get the information needed.
>>40292253> Let Henry go
>>40292253> Let Henry go.
>>40292253>> Let Henry go.This may be a bad move, but honestly he sounds like a fanatic. As liable to get us killed if we roll low on a sense motive.
>>40292585>>40292532>>40292511>>40292381"Kick him out." You say.Pytor wrenches Henry to his feet and nods at Ray to open the door.Ray opens the door. In doing so he gets right next to Henry and he frowns and sniffs the air.At the moment the door opens, Henry snarls and then Pytor screams in pain and lets go of Henry's shoulder. You can't see the fine details as you're also trying to keep your eyes on the road as you get onto the highway.Ray screams and covers his ears in pain. Leaning down in the RV's stairwell, inches away from the open door.Henry has a knife in his hand, he either grabbed Pytor's or he had one hidden on him. > Try to swerve the RV and knock Henry off balance enough for the others to recover. (Risks: Ray)> Grab your .357 and shoot back towards Henry. (Risks: Pytor)> Slam the breaks and hurl Henry forward. (Risks: Yourself)
>>40292727>> Slam the breaks and hurl Henry forward. (Risks: Yourself)
>>40292727> Slam the breaks and hurl Henry forward. (Risks: Yourself)
>>40292727>> Slam the breaks and hurl Henry forward. (Risks: Yourself)Better chance for the other two to get him.
>>40292727>> Slam the breaks and hurl Henry forward. (Risks: Yourself)Duh. What self-respecting quester would pick anything other than the self-harming option?
>>40292727>Slam the breaks and hurl Henry forward. (Risks: Yourself)
>>40292765Also Pryor getting hurt is s non starter and Lupa might maybe care for Ray plus he's a fuckton more useful than random scout woman.
>>40292791You slam on the breaks, HARD."Look out he's got a knife and...GAHHH!" Ray screams. > Notice Roll 1d6
Rolled 4 (1d6)>>40292870I'm really regretting sparing this asshat.

>>40292897>>40292919Ah shit biscuits.
>>40292886>>40292897>>40292919No wonder they took her off sharpshooter duty for this. She was pants at her job.
Rolled 1 + 5 (1d20 + 5)>>40292897>>40292919SHIT! Your breaking has caused the RV to start to swerve, and you look away from seeing what Henry is doing. That's why you don't move when Henry rams his hand, knife first, THROUGH the back of the RV, through the Golden Lynx seat cover, and into your back.
Rolled 9 (1d20)>>40292979heh. the 1s keep on coming.
>>40292979How the hell do fights in this quest end up turning into this? It's amazing.
>>40292897>>40292919RIP. If only we could've gotten to know you better
>>40292979I swear Echo you just can't roll.
>>40292979Guess he missed and the blade got stuck?
>>40292979You have a guardian angel watching over you. You have no other explanation because only an angel could have caused damage to the back of a car seat to also cause the springs in the seat of the car seat to also pop out of alignment. (That or shoddy workmanship and a very creative fix.)That causes you to drop a few inches. Just enough so that Henry's emergent blade does not poke into your back/spine/organs, but right into one of the buckles of your suit straps on your back.At that point, Henry howls as Ray and Pytor grab him, rip him bodily off the floor and throw him out of the moving RV.Ray slams the door and shakes his head. "That guy was a freak."Pytor frowns, as he looks at his ruined car seat and then sits in the passenger seat. Looking very unhappy."Does anyone know how par it is until we get to the bridge?" Ray asks. "A day, two? It hasn't been that long since they got Lupa and...what's the other girl's name?""Emily." You say."Right." Ray says. "Maybe we'll be lucky and catch up with them.""Maybe." You says, gingerly touching the now scratched buckle that saved your life. "But I don't think we could be THAT lucky.""Drive until you are tired." Pytor says as he closes his eyes. "Then I will drive. Ray, power the batteries.""Yes, sir." Ray says and goes to the bike charger for the large car batteries. > Roll 1d20

>>40293184Yeah. Got stuck, in our back.
Rolled 2 (1d20)>>40293243
>>40293283Nope missed us thanks to crit fail somehow.
>>40293281You shudder as you feel something cold on your back. You reach behind you, and your gloved hand pulls back with something black/red on your fingers. Ah, crap. Henry's blood, he must have sliced his arm up ramming it through the seat. Great, now Pytor's probably going to make you/charge you to clean his seat as well as repair it.This whole thing is giving you a headache. At least you can take in the comfort that you haven't done anything wrong.Stupid, maybe. But you haven't done anything that you're going to regret tomorrow. Why is Ray sniffing the air like that?END PART 11
>>40293433Part 12 will be a continuation of Amelia, Ray, and Pytor as they cross the Penninsular/Tributary border and hopefully not wreck the RV.
>>40293472thanks for running
>>40293433Dam just caught up to the last post and the quest is over!
>>40293472This Quest is the most fucked up Disney RV Vacation Movie.
>>40293433Was that really an entire roll dedicated to how much Henry bled on the seat?Kiiinda hoping we aren't playing as Amelia for more than another session before getting back to Lupa.
So Ray, Pytor, and Amelia both think that they have Lupa and Emmy? Didn't they come across the van the boy of Plath and concluded they may have escaped? Hes probably (or his corpse is) still wearing a fake genesis uniform.
>>40293687Plath died inside Tributary. They haven't crossed the Peninsular border yet, and Lupa and Emily drove that van elsewhere anyway.Plus the People of Joy have probably disposed of his corpse by now, if they have a blockade like this up.
So any speculations on what Ray may be smelling? I'm guessing its the blood, since Rays probably not smelt very much blood before+ His powers awaking.
>>40294030Pytor's RAGE at his ruined seat.
>>40294030Probably either a hubris infestation in Henry or cyborg parts
>>40293581you. I like you.
>>40293472Thanks for running Echo.
>Amelia gets protagonist-level dice>Embers doesn'tIsn't it sad, Embers?
