You suddenly open your eyes. Were you sleeping?Glancing around, you notice you've been tucked in a bed somewhere in the Manse. With the way the furniture has been haphazardly distributed - or not distributed at all - you really have no idea of where exactly you are. It's a small room, with no other furniture save for a glowing light stone set in the ceiling. You look down and see Tia lying at the foot of the bed, cuddled, her head on the mattress. For a moment, you thought she was sleeping, but her eyes are open and looking at you.You feel a bit light-headed. "...How long was I out?" You ask instinctively bringing a hand to your forehead to cradle it."A hour." She replies, still looking up at you, concerned.Good. Not too long, It should be early afternoon, you notice, and your internal clock confirms."The fleet is here." She adds, expressionless. It takes you a moment to realize what she's talking about. Your heart sinks when you do. "Th- They're here?""On the horizon." She replies, unconcerned, as if discussing the weather. "Not moving."Of course not, you think to yourself. They're waiting for nightfall. But you can feel it now, flowing through the air around you. The Essence flow of your Manse is closed. You really finished it in time. Barely, and just the sheer structure, but you did.You toss the blankets away and try to stand back up, wrestling against your low blood pressure. You still feel a distant hum in your ears......an echo of power. A booming, yet gentle voice. Words, and a song, in a language you don't know."Situation?" You ask her, shaking your head to shrug the drowsiness off you.Tia smiles. "I'm waiting for them."...Alright, maybe Tia's not the best person to ask a tactical assessment to. But still, it does make you feel safer. She stands up as well. Eager to crush skulls in your defense, knowing her.(cont.)

You have gathered a lot of allies and friends, and have a powerful Manse under construction. But Tianna is actually an artificial island, built around a First Age Titan: an almighty flying fortress built in an ancient, forgotten age, and although this is kept secret, two Deathlords are seeking to obtain it.The Tyrant of the Doomsday Machine, ghost of your past incarnation, seeked it as a weapon to cut her ties to the Neverborn. But you have persuaded her to try and seek redemption in the eyes of the Sun in other ways, and count her as an unlikely ally. But now the Silver Prince is coming, to punish her and claim the Titan for himself in the name of Oblivion. >>40236241There's no threat of him talking our army down in this fight. This isn't the prince on a diplomatic mission of "peace", he's here with a military expedition to conquer Tianna, kill the Tyrant, and claim the Titan. Him talking just gives the gunnery crews for our essence weapons a sitting target.
>>40236351For all we know, he has charms that allow him to, with a single sentence, convert our entire army to his banner. That's a real and serious risk. We don't know what he's capable of, aside from the fact that he's a social Deathlord.
>a Deathlord>being willing to set foot in PearlThe fight is going to happen to the north, where the Dark Omen is. Our tactical considerations need to be under that assumption. This entire thing is going to happen past the river, past the stone quarry, in a recently-blighted forest. It's not going to be a siege of Pearl.
>>40236380I know him trying to social-fu us was talked of in the quest between Maka and the Tyrant, but is the Prince socially-aspected in RAW? I never really looked through the Abyssals splat.
>>40236419Which would let us concentrate our not-insubstantial forces. Go Solar manse!
>>40236423>but is the Prince socially-aspected in RAW?Yes. He's the ghost of one of the most potent social manipulators of the First Age. His entire schtick is manipulating crowds and cultures with even the tiniest of interactions. He's social first and foremost.
His social attacks are probably to cause fear abd denotivate our forced instead of converting them. Also distracting us and manipulating our movements.
>>40236445Ah. Yeah, that mental defense charm is looking preeetty good right about now.
>>40236439Yeah. What we actually need to focus on is forcing his forces to land BETWEEN Pearl and the Dark Omen, in order for force a conflict on two fronts. If he lands North of the Dark Omen, though, Pearl won't be able to provide much more than logistical support to the Tyrant, since he'd be on the far side of the Tyrant from Pearl.Any suggestions for how to force that landing region? If we still had Dancing Smoke, I'd suggest lava flows on the beaches. I'm not sure Flame is so compliant right now, though.
>>40236380Sun King Radiance won't really help for that, not really. it just makes everyoen have Maka's base MDV which is 4, something the Silver Prince can beat easily, something we can beat most of the time without charms. In my opinion we'd get more use out of Rout Stemming Gesture so we stop him from scaring all our soldiers into running away
>>40236468>His social attacks are probably to cause fear abd denotivate our forced instead of converting them.No. His entire schtick is using his social power to subsume exalts, allies, and entire cultures under his banner all without so much as an unkind word. He's the ghost of the 'literally everyone's friend, can do no wrong' social utter-bastard of the First Age.
>>40236475>I'm not sure Flame is so compliant right now, though. On the other hand, she's considerably more powerful, completely devoted to defending Creation, and rather pissed off. I think we can work with that.
>>40236495Go back to your island, Desus.
(You should also pick a dress!)You ask Tia to help you go and gather around all Exalted and commanders as well as all people of interest and intelligence. You'll need to act fast.Valeriana informs you that the manse's command center, a solid underground room wired into the Golden Reach's sensor system, is operational, and so you tell everyone to meet there. In less than an hour the room, a circular, armored vault built around a white marble table with a large crystal-white gemstone set in its center, is filled with everyone involved in Tianna's defense effort, with few exceptions. The exceptions being mainly Karas, who has returned to Silk's realm to rest (you hope) the very last of his wounds, Silk herself, the Tyrant and her Abyssals, and Flame, who said that she'd act on her own.As people start arriving, Valeriana inches closer. "That was... amazing. What you did."You nod and smile politely, but it takes you a moment to understand what she's talking about. And then you remember. The voice. The song. "... Wait." You pause. Up to now, it was only you, but... "...Did you hear His voice, too?""It was His voice, wasn't it?" She asks, excited like a schoolgirl who just got the autograph of her favorite musician. "It's amazing. I thought He... I thought He just didn't do things like that. ...Does He speak to you?""Sometimes." You admit. "Very rarely. He's... not easy to talk to.""Seems you have a gift for that." She says, putting something in your hand, warm to the touch. You look at what you hold in the palm of your hand. It's a large stone, neatly cut in a heart shape. It looks like a yellow sapphire, or at least that's what a childhood spent in a place called Gem - for a good reason - tells you.(cont.)
>>40236502Yeah, hopefully. If she could turn the beaches north of the Dark Omen and south of Pearl into an impassible fire hazard, that would be the ideal opening move to launch as soon as the fleet starts approaching to land. Force them into the open fields and quarry south of the Dark Omen and north of Pearl where we can catch them in a crossfire of essence cannons and necro-artillery.

>>40236537>The exceptions being mainly Karas,Dang, I was hoping to get his Dawn expertise for this, is Sammy here too?
>>40236380If memory serves the deathlords dont actually have Charms of their own. They "only" have the statline of an ancient solar from the first age and esoteric knowledge of ancient stuff. That and full mastery of necromancy. But they don't have charms.
>>40236537I'd go with outfit 12 personally
>>40236624You remember entirely incorrectly. They no longer have access to their Solar charms from life. But they have a full 1500 years worth of Neverborn-fueled Deathlord charms to replace them. The Silver Prince's entire schtick is subverting entire nations to his whims; he almost definitely has some extremely serious mass social combat charms.
>>40236624Well, they certainly don't have Solar Charms. I welcome another anon to correct me, but I thought that they used their First Age knowledge to turn the power bestowed on them by the Neverborn into the functional (necromantic) equivalent of Charms.
>>40236591I'll second that
>>40236591Yeah, I'll second that thought.
>>40236659>>40236661These. Deathlords no longer have access to their Solar charms, but they have full access to super-ghost Deathlord charms.
>>40236537>>40236591Yeah, I don't think we've even worn this one yet. Voting 11.
>>40236537Can't we fight naked?
>>40236717That would probably distract out troops as much as it would the enemy.
>>40236659>>40236661>>40236696Ah well I was mostly thinking of the Solar charms, not the approximate Deathlord "Churms" that they got from the Neverborn. But social "charms" aside the biggest threat the Prince brings to the field is his intrinsic mastery of 3rd circle necromancy. He could probably kill every single mortal soldier we have by himself if we're not careful.

The Tyrant told us Deathlords can't get them back as easily as we can.
>>40236753Maka can take things seriously even when naked. It's not regal at all or even that impressive, either. Your reason to use 11 is flawed.
>>40236783He can get them back through the blood of mortals is where the danger lies. He kills our forces and uses their deaths to further fuel his necromancy. Rinse repeat until everyone is dead.Or if his back is to the wall you can bet everything you own that he'll kill his own mortal troops to recharge his essence. They'll be fanatics who would be GLAD to die for him since to them there's no downside.
>>40236786>It's not regal at all or even that impressive, either. That's your opinion, which you're entitled to, not a fact.
>>40236763It's Olga from Asura's Wrath, commander of a space fleet and most definitely not an Office Lady.
"The hearthstone?" You realize."It's just a rock without powers, but the Manse still produces one, and it's still the hey to operate it, and to be recognized as its owner." She nods. You close your eyes and focus, and let the stone's essence match yours. The lights in the room - all over the Manse, you imagine - flicker on and off, just subtly. She pats your shoulder. "You can touch the table and give it an order, and the gemstone in the center will project the image you want." She informs you. That's about when Amata arrives. You can see the other dragon-blooded are still conspicuously absent - still working on their warstrider, you'd guess, but, apart for them, everything's set.You touch the table's cold, smooth surface, and focus your mind outwards - and a ghostly image is projected in mid-air above the table, showing what you wanted: the horizon, as seen from the highest point of the Manse, and magnified as much as possible.A bank of fog surrounds Tianna in all directions, but it doesn't reach up to the coastal waters, and you can see a bit through it: black dots floating on the ocean, barely identifiable as ships through the mist. "Twenty." You count. The war council hasn't had formal introductions or proclamations, or opening statements. No need to: everyone knows what's going on. "Lynne, between ships you captured, sunk and crippled, how many do you suppose you've taken out? At worst.""The small Lunar bites his lower lip. "I'd say... at worst, I'd say seven. Which means..."Zaan nods slowly. "The fleet was originally thirty ships. There might be three we can't see. In reserve, or... somewhere else.""Or delayed." Valeriana points out."Yes, but let's be pessimistic about it." Amata slams her hands on the table. I'm going to assume that they're either in reserve, or heading around the island with cover of fog and heading for Tianna."(cont.)
>>40236753It's not very good-looking#19 is a serious armor without looking bad
>>40236854>It's not very good-lookingSeeing as how it recived the most votes, you're in the minority with that opinoin
>>40236867And I accept that.
>>40236591Well i like 11, seconding
>>40236882Then please stop stating your opinions like they're objective fact, it makes you come across as needlessly antagonistic.
>>40236840I'm half glad that little island is there to stop those ships from just all coming in at once, but it'll probably be set up as a landing point for the Prince to drop his command post or troops.
That charm for hitting tons of people at once would be useful, right now.If we get ride of the mooks, our friends can concentrate on the big guys.
>>40236903If he even lands there, I'm worried about those three missing ships. Those towns on the east of the island are absolutely undefended and if they weren't evacuated they're big piles of free undead to throw at us.If the prince detached those 3 ships to murder those smaller towns and reinforce the main force with a wave of expendable undead we're gonna be in a stickier situation.
>>40236903Is it in range of our weapons?
>>40236892There are more poeple who dislike #11 than the one you are thinking of (that's me, not the anon you are quoting).
>>40236753#15 is better.
>>40236934The towns east of Tianna were all evacuated to the city back when we thought we had to fight the Tyrant and immediately afterwards we heard Silver Prince was on his way so chances are they could still be held up there.Freeport is another story, back when we first started building up Pearl we went to go advertise, but no one's brought it up to us since then on whether or not it's been evacuated too.
>>40236934Who would be the best to find these ships? Tia?
>>40236892I dislike it too, I just hadn't cared enough to comment on it until this moment. Your call to false majority offended me.
Pyre Spark nods. "In any case we can't leave Tianna without Exalted support, even though it has its artillery." She concedes."Speaking of artillery, can our pieces here in Pearl cover the coast in case they decide to land in front of the Dark Omen?" You ask Amata."They sure can. And likewise the airship's own artillery has enough range to hit here, I'd imagine.""Even at night?""It'd be more inaccurate, but yes.""You don't think they'd be landing out of range?"She scratches her chin, thinking. "...No. I don't think so. It would make sense if the Prince wanted to make this sort of... a guerrilla campaign, or a long-winded fight. Hide troops and saboteurs around the island, things like that. But everything about his forces and deployment says he intends to finish this shortly and with overwhelming power, and besides, fighting on the coast means his ships will be able to support his ground forces, while landing somewhere else effectively turns this fight in two separate battles, a ground battle and a naval battle. And, while he's stronger than us on the sea, we have the advantage on land. No, I think he'll strike head on."That's what you thought as well, but... Tyrant's words keep echoing in your mind: "expect misdirection and trickery on a grand scale", she said. You don't know what he's planning. Judging by the faces you see around you, no one does. But you need a plan, now. At least an order of battle. Directions on where to deploy your forces. And then... and then, see where the battle takes you.>(Feel free to discuss, propose and vote on strategies or force placements. If you have any questions, ask and I'll give you the best response the war council can give. Also, roll a Mental + Dawn.)
>>40236955Yes, but not everyone who said they didn't like it said the reasons for liking 11 are flawed. Not the anon you were quoting, by the way
>>40236999Is HEP relevant here?
>>40236979We brough it up when we discussed where our base of operation for the battle was going to be. It was also suggested for the Tyrant to put her forces there, along with the Lintha's fortress. In the end, she prefered being close of Maka.
>>40236999Fuck I don't know, I'm just gonna roll.
Rolled 5 (1d10)>>40236995Majority may have been the wrong word, but it was still the option that got the most votes.>>40236999Maka personally should be placed as far away from the Tyrants forces as possible, so that we don't destroy her troops when our Anima flares.
>>40237017>Is HEP relevant here?It is.>>40236982>Who would be the best to find these ships? Tia?Flying scouts could be useful, but the fog limits their effectiveness, and they also need to be careful, because the Abyssals likely know that you have Lunars. They might open fire on animals acting unusually.>>40236979>Freeport is another story, back when we first started building up Pearl we went to go advertise, but no one's brought it up to us since then on whether or not it's been evacuated too.As far as you know, the order to evacuate arrived, and some people moved to pearl, but some stubbornly refused.>>40236946>Is it in range of our weapons?Assume the maximum effective range for your Essence weaponry on the big map is 4 hex.
Rolled 2 (1d10)>>40237056Forgot dice
Five tails on assassination duty, along with counter espionage. Radiant too.Tia flies over te battlefield and provides support with high impact dropkicks, then dueling the enemy's heavy hitters.Maka dances and jiggles her titties to keep people motivated.Karas takes some troops and is responsible for defences.
>>40236999I'd ask Amata how the evacuation of the towns and hamlets around Tianna are going. We can't leave large numbers of people exposed to be used as undead against the rest of us.I'm thinking that the three potentially detached ships are not a reserve or the Prince's personal barge or whatever, they're going to pull some backdoor shenanigans that we don't consent to.The only two things I can think of that make sense for them to try to do is kill everyone who isn't safe in the manse and turn them into undead, or attempt to fuck with the Titan itself. As for the Prince himself, the Tyrant mentioned that he'll have limited means to recharge his essence so once we find him we should throw Tia in his face for our obligatory Tia Boss Battle. The biggest threat he brings to this field is his necromancy and he'll want to kill a lot of our mortal troops to recharge essence to just throw necromancy around like mad. He'll also kill his own mortal soldiers to recharge his essence if we back him into a corner.
Rolled 6 (1d10)>>40236999What are our entire forces? And the Tyrant's?
Rolled 9 (1d10)>>40236999I really want our biggest hitters here, Tia, Karas, Tyrant, Baron. We might want to just stick the people who can't match up personally in combat to lead things in Tianna, since it's better defended from an ocean attack. But either Irene or Amata should head back so they can man the Storm Hammer they have they have>>40237075>It is.Pop it then, commit it since we aren't sure how long this will take.
Does the area of the island that would lift off with the Titan include both Tianna and Pearl? If not, I'd say we'd be putting whoever gets left behind in quite bit of danger if we try to make this thing fly again. Having half the island just split away doesn't seem conducive to retaining the structural integrity of the other half.
>>40237075>It is.I vote we activate it as a scene long, in case we need to make anymore rolls
Rolled 3 (1d10)>>40236999I don't know,if everything he's saying is that he's going for a frontal assault, he might intentionally be forming his fleet that way for misdirection
Rolled 8 (1d10)>>40237068Our anima flares won't kill the undead, just if we activate Banish the Dead. Silver Prince might use that to his advantage by having his undead fight near or against the Tyrant's forces.
Rolled 5 (1d10)>>40237100We're not going to be lifting off for the foreseeable future, that's a long-term goal.

2 successes ain't bad on 6 diceany charms that would help here?
Rolled 10 (1d10)We need to cripple the enemy canon fodder. The big guys are actually very dependent on them, since most of their powers are necromancy, manipulation and stealing lifeforce to boost themselves >>40237100That's not really relevent right now.
>>40237130He isn't bringing any combat undead because he knows the danger our Zenith exaltation poses to them. The only undead he'll use in the fight will be the ones he makes directly on the battlefield from ours and his battlefield dead. His combat forces are extremely well trained and motivated mortal soldiers led by a dawn caste solar pirate and a maybe a full circle of abyssals. According to the Tyrant they're going to be the equivalent of Tiger Warriors.
>>40236999They will probably throw their undead cannon fodder against the Dark Omen, since we won't be able to use our "Banish the Darkness" to remove their undead extras without also annihilating tyrant's extras. We might consider some sort of preemptive attack wherein we get Tia to take us into the middle of their fleet at speed (from the air or underwater to minimise effectiveness of enemy fire), use "Banish the Darkness" to destroy their entire undead extra compement while they are all stuck in one place (and away from tyrant's forces), then quickly retreat back to the Manse. Also, we should arrange for either the water nymphs or father ocean to intervene when they try to unload their mortal troops, and flood the landing area. Then send in those of our exalted who can breath/swim underwater, and attack while they are literally tredding water. Though with the whole "misdirection on a grand-scale", I have a suspicion the entire attack force might be a diversion to slip agents into the titan.
Rolled 1 (1d10)>>40236999Is Sammy still hurt? Are our Mercs back from Tianna yet?
>>40237152Good idea. Flame could also help
Rolled 9 (1d10)>>40237183>Flame could also helpShe said specifically she wasn't going to help, that she would be doing her own thing.
Our mecenaries are reliable. We should duel their exalts with our own. Maka x Moray (for conversion, we should use every charm to seduce him/her), Abyssal x abyssals, Karas vs Silver Prince or whoever else is there. The DBs organize the defense and/or go full giant root route.Ririth sens demons to fight for us, they are useless with the construction finished.Five tails searches for the missing ships or sneak and assassinate commanders and important targets.Tyrant does something, I dunno.
>>40236999Who among the Exalted have spirit seeing abilities? We want to be careful about any ghosts trying to spy or sneak in. Actually we might should just have demons assigned to keeping watch since they can see dematerialized spirits naturally.
>>40237174Maybe for the flooding idea they can go to low tide. When their forces disembark suddenly it's high tide and they have to wade through chest deep water just to reach the shore. I think the undead component the Prince brought were there for maintenance of the ships, not actual combat duties.I'm not too worried about attempted titan shenanigans though, We restored Flame to her former self and i'm pretty sure she wont be happy with some jerks crawling around inside her getting up to no good.
>>40237184Then let's use it. Unless it'll be better to do it later?
>>40236999Can the Dark Omen move any closer? Over the lake maybe? The quarry is currently between us and the Dark Omen. Rather than making our firces have to fight with a quarry between them, we can place the quarry between the enemy and us if we move the Dark Omen over the lake.
>>40237230We can activate it as a scenelong
>>40237221Didn't Pyre had something to ward off ghosts? Also, can Ocean Father lower the tides around the island, to hinder the ships?
>>40237075Can we get a rundown of what Artifacts were found and who got what?>>40236999So who should we be sending to Tianna?I think we should send back at least Amata, Mikahil, and Five Tails. Maybe Sammy too.I also want to send someone that can and will use Sorcery to either defend against it or use it on the enemy.
>>40237252That'll turn our 2 success into 5
Rolled 10 (1d10)We should have The Tyrant and her Abyssals try to raise as many undead as they can. If we leave all the corpses to the prince he'll overwhelm us with numbers eventually.
>>40237217Moray won't convert on the battlefield. To him it'll be our word against his masters with zero evidence to back what we're saying up. We might give him a kernel of doubt but he wont betray the Prince.Amata will be working with our mortal forces but those five DB in their new warstrider are going to be important on the battlefield to handle any remaining warstriders the Prince has. I'd ask ocean father or Flow about the missing ships, if they're on the water they'll know and they can tell us exactly where they are. That way Five Tails can be present in the battle to knife enemy exalts or officers.>>40237161Like this guy said we need to destroy the mortal forces the Prince brings, if only to deny him a source of easy essence from the murder of his own soldiers. I'd have Karas handle that, I'd imagine he'd have a ball.
>>40237299Then we should do it.
>>40237299We should have activated it in the first place. We play general rarely enough that we should use our commander charms whenever they're applicable.
>>40237298We should have Mikahil assume command of Tianna's fleet. If the prince moves every ship up at once and they all are focused on supporting their ground forces Mikahil can attack them from behind and cripple their rides. The three missing ships might be picket ships though, they could be on the lookout for specifically that.
>>40237075Who do we have that can use anti-army Sorcery?I know Zaan at least has Obsidian Butterflies, which we want to use for sure, even if it's to bait out their Sorcerers so we know who to target.I want to send someone else to that can use it to Tianna as well, Amata maybe, she might not use it if she hates it, but she can still cast counterspells.
>>40237303>Moray won't convert on the battlefield. To him it'll be our word against his masters with zero evidence to back what we're saying up. Well, the Tyrant said that dispelling the Prince's lies is what he fears the most. Throwing everything we have at Moray and rolling well enough should at least remove him from the battlefield. We have to make him feel enraged and ashamed for falling for the Prince's ruse.If that doesn't work, then we still have our greatest trik. Make him fall in love with Maka
>>40237303Five Tails might be the best to deal with these ships, though. Also, Karas strike me more as our "fight mid-bosses" guy.
Rolled 6 (1d10)>>40237247On second thought, that gives the prince a much easier landing.
>massacrating the soldiersI thought Maka wanted to reduce all mortal casualities to the minimun. She would rather break the Prince's indoctrination than genociding the armies.
>>40237303>we need to destroy the mortal forces the Prince bringsI forget, how does the Midnight anima ability work? I know it can kill mortals, but is it like the Zenith where they just need to be near to do so?If that's the case, Feurdelis and Maka should focus on taking out the fodder with their anima abilities, while the rest of our forces deal with the non-extra enemies.
I'll second for popping HEP
>>40237385Karas is absolutely our fight Final Bosses guy, Maka would be better off taking the mid-bosses, or the Abyssals as the case would have it.
>>40237082>I'd ask Amata how the evacuation of the towns and hamlets around Tianna are going. We can't leave large numbers of people exposed to be used as undead against the rest of us.It's complete.>>40237088>What are our entire forces? And the Tyrant's?You have around 5500 troops.1500 are from Tianna's city guard and are a well-trained and equipped force, including swordsmen, pikemen and archers. 1000 are in Tianna City, 500 in Pearl.2000 are a citizen militia on top of that. They are lightly trained and equipped. 1000 in Tianna City, 1000 in Pearl.1000 are from the various barbarian tribes of northern Tianna, including Tia's Black Talon Tribe. They're fierce warriors, but undisciplined. 700 are around Pearl, 300 near Tianna City.200 are Tianna's engineering corps. They're not a close combat force, but are supremely well-equipped. Those that aren't crewing Essence weapons are armed with portable firearms, explosives or similar devices. 100 in Tianna City, 100 in Pearl.150 are the Steelshard Mercenary Company. They're an elite force, very disciplined and well drilled, in heavy armor. They're all in Pearl.650 are from your navy, which includes both your pirate crews and Tianna's official navy. They're skilled combatants and can be useful fighting on land, but it's not their specialty. 200 are in Pearl, 450 in Tianna City. Some of these forces arrived just recently in Pearl with Amata's caravan, while others were there from before. As far as Essence weaponry goes, Pearl has five large Concussive Essence Cannons (beam weapons that fire a beam of condensed Essence) and one Lightning Ballista (a weapon that fires actual bolts of lightning), plus several smaller essence-discharge weapons. Tianna City has a lot more weaponry, with around a dozen functional Lightning Ballistas and probably more.
>>40237376The problem is that throwing everything we have at him with no evidence will at best make him begin to doubt. If this were a cocktail party then we could really go to work socially but the middle of a battlefield is not the ideal time for world shaking revelations. He'd just be confused for a second and then scream "YOU'RE LYING" and attack us.>>40237385Five Tails is an option yeah but I think Ocean Father or Flow would give us instant feedback with no wasted time looking around. And yeah Karas is a boss fighter but every boss battle we've had so far in this quest has been the moment when we wreck shit with Tia.Unless we have Karas fight Moray and Tia goes HAM on the prince.
How can we expose the Prince's lies to the most people? Does Pearl has a "project voice" option?Would revealing the Titan's presence now work?
>>40237463To expose his lies we need to destroy the prince's body.If the prince is still around then whenever we say how skullstone is a lie that exists to murder it's citizens he'll say "nah she's lying skullstone rocks".And then we get nowhere at all.
>>40237463I think our only realy shot at convicing anyone is if we talk to the Solar, we should make him an objective, either turn him or get him to back out of the fight by trying to get through to him.All the other mortals I think are going to be too brainwashed to turn
>>40237463>Would revealing the Titan's presence now work?I'm pretty sure most people don't know what a Titan is.
>>40237491Moray is also brainwashed, the Tyrant mentioned that he believes the prince's bullshit. He wont listen to us on the battlefield, if we want to turn him to the side that doesn't want to murder everything everywhere we'll need to capture him.
>>40237426>5500 troopsHonestly, even if they're not all united into a single fighting force? That's still a really good-sized army for a nation this small.
>>40237426Tianna I think can settle for a lesser amount of Exalted. We're going to want to send at least one of the Lunars to take charge of the barbarians, either Zaan or Talon depending on whether or not we send Val there.
>>40237510Moray isn't brainwashed the same way the mortals are, he's Exalted he can't be for long. He believes it the same way we believe the Tyrant is worth being redeemed. We just need to get it through his head that the Silver Prince has been lying to him.
Logically, it would make no sense for the Prince to send a lot of troops and powerful servants to Tianna. He can steam-roll us, and then deal with the heavily protected city. Then again, misdirections are his forte
>>40237549Actually you know what I would do if I had an entire group of soldiers that could be taken down casually by one person?Send them to attack the city she isn't defending.Tianna should be especially wary of undead assault.
>>40237546Yeah but again that's easier said than done. If we were at a dance in a palace just having a fun time we could go to work on him Socially. But this is a battlefield, he has zero obligation to even listen to us. Plus we have no hard evidence, anything we say to the guy the prince can just say "nah she's full of shit bro, I'm legit as fuck". If we eventually decide to try to sway him to our side we have to capture him alive and get him away from the prince.
Whatever we do, don't over-commit our forces. I guarantee you, the Prince is going to pull some tricky bullshit, and we'll want forces waiting in reserve to react when that happens. Even if it's just keeping Karas in waiting, we want a reliable asset that we can play as a hard counter to the first major trick. I'm hoping that Silk whips up something good, and that Flame intervenes at a dramatic and essential moment, but I'd rather count on confirmed assets when we're in the planning phase. Like Amata said - be pessimists while planning.
>>40237221>Who among the Exalted have spirit seeing abilities?Yourself, Amata, Valeriana, Aexel and Zaan.>>40237263>Didn't Pyre had something to ward off ghosts?Pyre knows some thaumaturgical tricks. She can place wards. The walls of both Tianna City and Pearl are already warded, but very powerful or determined ghosts can find ways through such wards eventually.>>40237263>Also, can Ocean Father lower the tides around the island, to hinder the ships? That's out of his purview, Tianna has a water elemental court for the coastal areas. You didn't hear from them.>>40237348>We should have Mikahil assume command of Tianna's fleet. If the prince moves every ship up at once and they all are focused on supporting their ground forces Mikahil can attack them from behind and cripple their rides.Miakhil points out that, in this situation, Tianna's fleet is basically useless against 20 First Age ships with essence weaponry in still waters.>>40237414>I forget, how does the Midnight anima ability work? I know it can kill mortals, but is it like the Zenith where they just need to be near to do so?It's not quit as deadly, but close.>>40237463>Does Pearl has a "project voice" option? It does.>>40237517>Honestly, even if they're not all united into a single fighting force? That's still a really good-sized army for a nation this small. You're under full mobilization, of course. Also: Valeriana knows a spell called "Conjuring the Azure Chariot", that can move around up to 5 people (herself included) at redonkulous speeds (vastly faster than being carried by a lunar or even your bike), but it only works as long as the sun is in the sky.
>>40237595>I'm hoping that Silk whips up something goodspeaking of which, we should check what she managed to cook up before we get too far along in the planning.I hope it was worth all the trouble she put Karas through.
>>40237586Social-fu is Maka's greatest skill, seduction bein her greatest weapon. If anyone can convice Moray of something, it's her, be it with logical arguments or appeal to lust.If he refused to even listen to Maka and went straight into murderoiboing, that would be so incredibly anti-climatic and a let down. Not to mention that the Prince is supposed to be immune to social-fu, not the Prince's lackeys.
>>40237461I said mid-bosses. Karas can certainly deal with the dangerous subordinates and seconds-in-command of the big ugliesAnd I meant dealing as in "she takes care of the three ships if she can, with whoever can help her"In any case, we need to have someone go to the rear of the Prince's fleet and sabotage it. Our stealthy engineer/ Magical Girl seems perfect for this.
>>40237628How's the Super Warstrider going? That thing is still going to have only one pilot right?>>40237426We probably want to split up the forces to be under the command of at least one Exalted each.
>>40237580Yeah, but doing that would surely be a bluff, to draw Maka away from Pearl. If Tianna is attacked by undead and Maka leaves to deal with it, expect the Prince to immediately launch a propaganda assault on Pearl while Maka isn't there to make counter-arguments or bolster morale. Our biggest individual, personal threat to him is the ability to dismantle his social assaults, and the best way to lure us away from an area is to attack something else with undead.
>>40237628>It's not quit as deadly, but close. So would us dealing with undead extras and Feurdelis dealing with mortal extras be a viable plan?
>>40237671I would so be against going to Tianna to deal with it, I'm just saying to be careful
>>40237646Hah you're silly anon, the fae are all about good storytelling and what makes for a better story than a dramatic last minute surprise rescue by the Amazing Silk.>>40237660Yes I know we can convince him but the middle of a battlefield is not the time. He wont listen in the middle of a battle because he'll assume we're lying to try to shake him up and beat him.We need to get him away from the Prince if we want to convince him because anything we say to the guy the Prince can immediately say the opposite and derail our social fu. Remember he's a social monster too.
>>40237669>How's the Super Warstrider going?>That thing is still going to have only one pilot right?Irene promised that "it will stride in this particular war", but it's still under construction. You can only hoe they'll finish it in time. You're fairly sure it requires all five of them to operate it.Another round of questions, then I'll start hammering together a plan proposal.
>>40237687No, see:>>40237687If we're put in a situation where we can go deal with undead, it's almost definitely a feint to lure us away from a field of social conflict. Maka is our Queen, don't let her get distracted with Pawns too far away to play defense for the rest of the pieces.
>>40237725>You're fairly sure it requires all five of them to operate it.Dragonbloods are silly
>>40237628>Conjuring the Azure Chariot", that can move around up to 5 people (herself included)I guess she'll definitely be heading to Tianna to deliver the Exalted then before the days up.I think, Amata, Zaan, Mikahil and Five Tails.
Generally speaking I see danger in letting him choose and/or prepare the battle grounds, but our situation makes it hard to do soWe need to find the missing ships and attack them before they attacks usPerhaps do a preemptive attack to weaken or disorganise his forces...Also we could need some intel
>>40237710The battlefield is the only place we can even talk to Moray. Neutralizing him long enough to distract the Prince will be benefiial to our troops; they lose two commanders at the same time, while Maka is only one.
>>40237779Amata and Mikahil maybe. Not Zaan, we need his army destroying sorcery to deplete the Prince's forces.Five Tails seems to have skills towards assassination so we'll want her near the main battle to murder officers and exalts.
>>40237779Zaan is our best sorcerer. He should stay near the main battle
>>40237628>>Does Pearl has a "project voice" option?>It does. How would that work, would it be just a big booming voice or could someone direct orders to specific people from the manse? We might want to think about having someone in the manse overseeing the whole battle.
>>40237806>>40237823Talon then, I want to send at least one Lunar and one spy guy to lead the barbarians and defend from and remaining or new spies, repectively.
>>40237831It's just a booming voice. Best you can do is limit it to one or more rooms instead of it booming everywhere. For the purpose of this, the area outside of the Manse (i.e. the future city of Pearl) is "a room".
>>40237803Not if we capture him, on the battlefield we could be talking to him but he wont be listening. Again we'd be trying to convince him to completely turn on his lord and master based solely on our word against his. That's not going to happen in a single roll and he wont give us more than one or two to do it. He's not a Creature of darkness remember, so a 22 success social mindfucking cannot happen. This is also assuming we're in the thick of the fight going toe to toe with a dawn caste solar pirate. Our talents are leadership and durability, we should stay with our mortal forces to lead them and get big results.I also think Karas is going to want to fight Moray, remember in his story of exaltation Moray was the one who captured his ship and enslaved him for soulforging.
>>40237831Irene maybe? War is an Earth Aspect ability.>>40237848That's fine.
>>40237806Yeah, we definitely want our assassins picking off officers. Zareen in particular is an expert sniper with a jade powerbow. You couldn't ask for a better battlefield (rather than counter-espionage) assassin than that. Power armor for mobility, survivability, and stealth; she should be given solo deployment with no objectives other than survival and killing officers.
>>40237831AoE social-fu>>40237823Agreed.>>40237764You just noticed now?
>>40237886Agreed. This is her exact specialist operational role.
>>40237877Irene is needed for the Warstrider>>40237886Zareen is also needed for the WarstriderRajan, Zareen, Irene, Sammiel, and Aexel are all committed to the warstrider.
Is it canon the Silver Prince has a huge boner for wiping out Creation?
>>40237886>>40237924>>40237933If Zareen is committed to the warstrider, then Five Tails and Starfall can handle the roving assassin role.
>>40237886If the Silver Prince goes straight for the big conflict that might actually be less usefullCounter espionage should be left to Five Tails...Assassination is something I'd put Radiant Starfall and Zareen on, mostly because star has a big fucking gun
We need Radiant Starfall as an anti-warstrider saboteur. She's a trained magitech expert from Irene's corps of engineers with a massive specialization in stealth. With her stealth skills and her knowledge of magitech and explosives, that's her ideal role, countering that particular advantage.
>>40237933We'll recall Zareen when it's ready for deployment, then. Until then, her talents are much better suited to guerilla sniping.
>>40237979>Radiant Starfall as an anti-warstrider saboteurPerfect. Just PERFECT
>>40237866Might as well not bother then. Hey EF, you said there are a few other DB's we haven't met yet, are they in Tianna?I'm trying to think of who should lead who.I think Karas should be leading the bulk of the army, the City guard and the civilian militia and maybe the engineering corp since Irene will be busy with the Warstrider.Tia or Zaan is obviously going to get the barbarians here.I think Maka should be in charge of the Steelshard group since we hired them.
>>40237979110% agreed. Radiant Starfall is our sapper.
>>40237933>>40237877Irene isn't likely used to commanding on the battlefield, Samiel likely isThought her armor dos make her an excellent officerBut then again we NEED her for the warstrider building
>>40237628We should probably get a word to the water court as soon as we can, either send someone or go ourselves.
>>40237972Five Tails helped us beat Deled Peleps. She attacked him and shanked his ass unseen to give us the edge we needed. She's got stealth skills and assassination skills that complete her superspy package so on the battlefield her skillset will be ideal for killing officers.>>40238000I think the idea behind the warstrider is that all five of the DB working on it are working on it full time to get it ready.Besides there's a time delay with that plan to redeploy zareen when it's ready. She has to disengage from whatever she's doing, run back to the Warstrider bay, and then deploy with the rest of them and come back.Better that she's there already to immediately move out when ready.>>40238009Karas' charm list didn't focus on leadership. He's a beatstick and we should use him appropriately. I think that Moray Darktide should be Karas' target in this battle. He's an important enemy leader and he has history with Karas, he's the one who captured him and took him to skullstone in the first place. We should be leading our mortal forces ourselves, our charms are ideally suited for inspirational leadership so our soldiers fight hard.Tia should fight the Silver Prince since that's been how we beat every boss battle in this quest so far.
>>40238088Karas has better leader ship than Maka does, on top of a higher dicepool he's got HEP and Mob-Dispersing Rebuke.
>>40238132Alright he's got the charms for that but my point that he's a beatstick still stands.Oh, we should have him lead the Steelshards, if they're elite heavy infantry we want them in the vanguard of our battle line and that's exactly where a warrior like Karas will shine. The rest of our mortal troops we can lead ourselves.
Here's a thought. What about signaling to the fleet that we want to parley?Since we know nothing about them and have to assume they know everything about us, it could be a good chance to A, get intel on the fleet leaders. B, social them if possible. C, maybe alpha strike one of them right off the bat, since honour be damned when it comes to deathlords.Worst case scenario we turn tail and run. I think we can muster up enough Exalts to make up a diplomatic party that can defend itself.
>>40238160They aren't coming to parlay and any attempt will get our messengers killed for no gain."Honor be damned" goes both ways.
>>40238160An absolute waste of time
>>40238160>Diplomancing Deathlords>In the Middle of a fight>Against the only Deathlord that 100% believes in his mission.
Alright, so, correct me if I'm reading intentions wrong, but the general idea seems to be:- Have a small group of Exalted return to Tianna and defend it in case something tricky happens.- Hold the line on the beaches.- Five Tails on assassination duty.- Radiant Starfall on sabotage.- Karas and Tia as heavy hitters.- Zaan as combat sorcerer.- Maka as backup fighter, but mostly in a social and anti-undead capacity.Anything else?
>>40238218Yeah, Maka is specifically not anti-undead. We believe any undead used will be a feint to draw Maka from where she's more useful. Maka's on command/morale/counter-propaganda playing combat support as needed. And Zareen is also on limited assassination duty, but only if/when it won't be interfering with her warstrider duty. It's her support/secondary role in the same way combat is ours.
>>40238218That sounds about right.I'd like to coordinate a strategy with the Tyrants group, but I'm not sure we have time for that.
>>40238218add-ask ocean father and the local water court to locate the missing three ships, sunk or not.I'd suggest we avoid holding them right on the beaches, we have a half dozen essence weapons available from the manse to overlook the beach compared to the forty essence weapons mounted on those twenty ships. We should also request the Tyrant send her circle to help in the fight however they can. Even if the only ones worth a damn in this fight are the Baron and Fleurdelis they can fight some of the abyssals serving the Prince.
>>40238218I'd like to see a small aquatic task force try and hit the enemy ships from the rear. May turn their own guns against them. Zann, Tia, and a couple of other should be able to do some major damage that way.
>>40238283Tia is our ace in the hole to beat the shit out of the Prince. We should keep her with us to do just that.Plus after that hurricane from Ocean Father that fleet is going to be on the lookout for aquatic attacks.
>>40238218Wasn't Talon in the heavy hitter side? What about the capabilities of our new lunar?
>>40238218I don't want Maka specifically on undead duty and I think we need to get word to the Water court too.I think we should also have our essence weaponry be focusing on the ship's weapons and structure.
>>40238268>Maka is specifically not anti-undead. We believe any undead used will be a feint to draw Maka from where she's more useful.I disagree, but I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority and am just voicing my objection for the record.>>40238327>Wasn't Talon in the heavy hitter side?I think he's heading to Tianna to lead the barbarians there.
>>40238218Try and contact Flow so that we can lower the tide and beach those ships
>>40238331The essence weapons from the manse should focus exclusively on the essence weapons the enemy ships carry. Each of those ships have two of such weapons and there's twenty of them.Forty lightning ballistas can devastate our forces.>>40238346We should have Talon in the main fight, he looks like a tough guy and we need every tough guy on hand to fight enemy abyssals. Any bullshittery that goes to Tianna will be from those three seperate ships.
>>40238375>We should have Talon in the main fightIf we do that, then the only backup Amata will have in Tianna is Val I think, who is not at all speced for combat.
>>40238375>Forty lightning ballistas can devastate our forces.Understatement>Any bullshittery that goes to Tianna will be from those three seperate ships. Not necessarily. >>40238218We will give Silk her Sword to fight the Undead as Champion of Pearl
>>40238411We can also send Mikahil to Tianna, he's a wheeler and dealer, not a warrior and he'll be more use there with Amata dealing with any nonsense the Prince tries.Valeriana should stay with us in the main force. With Amata overseeing Tianna if the Prince sends significant force to attack the city Amata can send an Infallible Messenger to warn us. Then Val can load up that Azure Chariot with Tia, Karas, or Whoever and rush them to deal with the attempted sneak attack.
>>40238460>We will give Silk her SwordAlready did
>>40238411Messenger to Val and the Chariot to deploy exalted (i.e. Kars and Talon)Other then that I think there might be other spells for transportation>>40238218How effective are Samiel and Irene at commanding forces?
>>40238464Azure Chariot only works during the day and the Prince is waiting for night time to attack, Val needs to go to Tianna to take everyone else. There's really not much that Val can do here, she's not combat specced in any sort of fashion.
>>40238493WhoopsThat's what I get for reading as fast as possible through the threads to vote with you guys
>>40238499>How effective are Samiel and Irene at commanding forces?Irene probably has more dice because War is an Earth Aspect ability, but Samiel probably has more charms.
>>40238504Damn you're right, I'd forgotten that he was waiting for night. I still think Val should stay though, if only to repair our essence weapons when they get bracketed and destroyed by the enemy fleet. Besides she said that's one spell she's learned, we don't know what other sorcery she can do besides that.
>>40238315I disagree. Karas should be our ace in the hole. Tia heals absurdly fast and is well-suited for extremely long-term fights, while Karas is still doing the last of his healing. Hold Karas in reserve as our emergency trump card, with Tia being our leading offensive.
>>40238520It happened a few threads ago. We told her to work on a trump card to use against the prince.A behemoth or something of equivalent tide-turning ability.
>>40238546We have a whole crew of engineering corp and Irene who we know is better suited to repairing Magitech.
>>40238525They should be officers of our forces, I'd really like to end Samiel with Amata back to Tianna, but I fear the chances of Flame appearing to help us would diminish
>>40238547Tia doesn't have leadership charms when we last saw he charm list.Karas should lead the Steelshard company in the vanguard since he has mob dispersing rebuke and HEP.Besides up to now every big boss we've had to fight has eventually come down to Tia to beat, why stop now?
>>40238375No, Talon is actually a social Lunar with secondary physical. He's a really good choice for holding down Tianna when it gets inevitably sneak-attacked.
Over the next two hours or so, you hammer together a plan together with everyone else. Talon is going to carry Amata, Valeriana and Mikahil, who volunteered, to Tianna City, and the three of them will take charge there in case something odd happens. Amata knows the place like the back of her hand and having her there is going to be a massive morale boost in case of trouble, while Valeriana can take Irene's place in directing the Engineers and the artillery.Everyone else will stay in Pearl, where the main force of the Prince's fleet seems to be concentrated. It's likely that the enemy plan is to first strike at Tyrant, and probably then obtain the secret of how to access the Titan from her. You have no reason to believe that the Prince's spies might have learned how to access the Titan, after all.Karas will have military command of the defense here in Pearl. You take notes about everything being said, to properly bring him up to speed as soon as he'll walk out of Silk's realm. It took a while to persuade Five Tails to stay in Pearl and not follow Mikahil to Tianna, but her and Radiant Starfall's jobs will be both covert sabotage and assassination, and countering any such attempts from the enemy.Zaan will keep his sorcery in reserve and wait for the right moment to use it.And Tia will be your heavy hitter, to be unleashed as soon as something steps way out of line. You're not too keen on how this silly idea the other dragon-blooded had to restore and customize a Warstrider is depriving you of five Exalted on the field, but you sure hope it will be a game-changer when it hits the field. It better be.The one thing that worries you the most is Flow's court. It didn't answer summons or prayers, and there seems to be no way to contact them. They might just be forced to hide and stay low, but it might be something worse. You give another glance to the glowing map floating in mid-air.(cont.)
>>40238574Because Karas is so much better suited to taking on the Silver Prince.I actually would prefer to face him with Karas than with Tia because both of us know ECSJ.That's a chance to smack the Silver Prince with 20 successes from two different people at once.
>>40238608Source please, otherwise I'm inclined to agreeAlso what the hell can our fifth lunar do?
>>40238574All the more reason to keep Karas finishing recovering in reserve. We want Tia personally breaking the back of their main force, with Karas and some elite troops ready for inevitable tactical deployment/reinforcement. That way Tia will have a window in the middle of the battle to fall back and recover, after she's broken the main force, to be ready for the final assaults.
>>40238624>I actually would prefer to face him with Karas than with Tia because both of us know ECSJ.That's a really good point I wish had been brought up sooner. We should let Tia beat up Moray while Karas and Maka handle the Prince
>>40238635He can motivate Karas.
>>40238652He's been recuperating for days with body mending meditation, he should be physically fine by now.A Warrior-King Solar like Karas is wasted in reserve, we need him on the frontlines to inspire our forces and demoralize the enemy. I do like the idea of the double ECSJ attack that >>40238624 mentioned though. When the time is right I think that Karas, Tia, and ourselves should all team up on the Prince at once. Why throw forty successes at that asshole when we can throw fifty or sixty.
>>40238624On the other side Tia is freaking combat monsterEven Karas has reasons to fear her and when fighting with Maka, who knows how much she'll try to impress/protect
>>40238721>Even Karas has reasons to fear herI don't think Karas has ever expressed fear of Tia, whough my memory might be faulty.
>>40238710>When the time is right I think that Karas, Tia, and ourselves should all team up on the Prince at once. Why throw forty successes at that asshole when we can throw fifty or sixty.Well that's gonna happen.
>>40238710He is less General/Warrior-King and more warrior and sweet talker at the momentI know it's part of dawn, but he has no experience commanding and leading
>>40238750You don't remember that scene with the lintha?>¨Also, I bang your sister.¨
>>40238785That's not the same thing. That's just Tia being an asshole.
>>40238767>I know it's part of dawn, but he has no experience commanding and leadingHe absolutely has, just the fact that he has charms means he's done it before.Just because he's never done it with the short time he's been with us doesn't mean he's never done it at all.
>>40238767No experience but that's irrelevant when he has the charms to support that role. He's trained his whole life to be a bodyguard and commander remember, that was his self imposed role in Gem.
>>40238765And then the Prince uses a perfect defense.
>>40238795Yeah, but in that scene Karas was mighty impressed and slightly worried about Tia making a demon monster into red mist
>>40238819Then we do it again, and again and again, until he's out of motes with no way to recharge. And then he's kaput.
Those 20 ships have a combined firepower vastly superior to what you or the Dark Omen can bring to bear, that's for sure. But, even if they're protected warships, they're still not as large and powerfully-built (or protected by solid landscape) as the Dark Omen is, and the Golden Reach is basically a fortified bunker. As far as artillery goes, they have the advantage in firepower, but your side has armor and endurance, and is very well dug-in.Even once the ships hit the beach, even if they're loaded to their fullest capacity with the most elite forces Skullstone can muster, it's around thirty soldiers per ship. Six hundred elite troops seems bad, but you'd have both number and terrain on your side. Of course, you already know that they're going to sacrifice some of that carrying capacity to bring Warstriders, so you're looking at perhaps... four hundred troops, ten Warstriders? Something like that, give or take a few. That's still not good, but Irene assured you that even a Warstrider can't shrug concussive essence cannon shots. She told you something better as well: Warstriders were never designed for fighting the Exalted. Even the best of them is too large, slow and clumsy for that. The purpose of Warstriders is shock and awe, siege warfare, attacking giant monsters, and fighting other Warstriders....Well, you ARE going to have a giant monster, courtesy of Silk, so at least they'll have something keeping them busy.Overall, the real problem isn't going to be the troops, even if they're elite. It'll be the Exalted. And the PrinceThis fight is going to be a war of Exalted against Exalted on a seriously crazy scale. You give one final look at the diagram.>It's gonna work out like this.>Let's just make a minor adjustment... (what?)>...No. No. There has to be a trick. I need to do something completely unpredictable. Change everything. (what?)>(other?)
>>40238842>>Let's just make a minor adjustment... (what?)before Five Tails does her murdering thing on the officers she needs to look for those three missing ships. We have no idea what they're carrying and that could be the thing that beats us.
>>40238842>It's gonna work out like this. There's definitely going to be a trick, but the Prince is clever enough that I don't think we'll figure it out before hand. Best we can do is stay stay on our toes and be ready to adapt.
>>40238897Let's actually have Val make a quick pass around the island on the Chariot to see if they can spot something weird, if they do then then can Messenger us about it.>>40238842When the Silver Prince makes an appearance we need at least Karas and Tia to break off from whatever they're doing and go gang up on him with us.
>>40238842>Let's just make a minor adjustment... (what?)Bombs on the beach?
>>40238952Yeah seconding Valeriana and Amata riding the chariot around the island and looking for the three ships.>>40238952The other big thing about immediately engaging the prince is that he wont have time to bust out major necromancy. Once he shows up we need to immediately make his only priority "Avoid Grand Daiklave coming at my face".
>>40236537>"It was His voice, wasn't it?" She asks, excited like a schoolgirl who just got the autograph of her favorite musician. "It's amazing. I thought He... I thought He just didn't do things like that. ...Does He speak to you?">"Sometimes." You admit. "Very rarely. He's... not easy to talk to.">"Seems you have a gift for that." She says, putting something in your hand, warm to the touch.A bit late, but it looks like Maka isn't the only one with a crush on sempai.
>>40238842>>Let's just make a minor adjustment... (what?)Let's try to damage the ships a maximum before the battle starts. Sabotage, intervention from the water court, floating bombs if possible. They need to pay every inches from where they are to our beaches with blood.
>>40239076Of course she isn't, senpai is the coolest
>>40239100Not an good plan, they're going to be on guard for an aquatic attack since Ocean Father hit their fleet with a huge storm. Plus the only things we have that could possibly do that are the lunars and we need them all rested and ready to go during the main battle.
>>40239076>It was His voice, wasn't it?Oh that was the first time she's ever heard his voice isn't it.It might be the first time any of the Solars have heard his voice, I just realized how crazy it is that Maka has spoken to him four motherfucking times
>>40238842>As far as artillery goes, they have the advantage in firepower, but your side has armor and endurance, and is very well dug-in.I'm a bit worried that this has been Maka's general battle strategy this whole quest and it hasn't always turned out well for her.
>>40239142Who said it has to be aquatic? Have Maka ride with Val via chariot and cast her dispel undead
>>40239207That also wont do much, the Prince's forces are elite mortal soldiers, not undead. He avoided bringing them specifically because we're a zenith, he knows what we can do to an undead army.
>>40239171Yeah. Normally Zeniths get a message from the UCS after exalting and then never hear from him again. Most other castes aren't even that lucky. It would be accurate to say that Maka is truly his favorite Chosen, his highest priestess. We're his Pyre Flame.
>>40238614>You have no reason to believe that the Prince's spies might have learned how to access the Titan, after all.I hate this line.We disabled the big laser right?
>>40239264>You have no reason to believe that the Prince's spies might have learned how to access the Titan, after all.>I wonder if the big ass volcano goddess screaming about being the Titan has anything to do with it.We should have someone keep an eye on it.
>>40239264The main cannon points downwards. Itis useless if the titan can't fly.
>>40238842>Let's just make a minor adjustment... Tia to sink ships so they have less firepower
"...Say, Val?" You ask her, turning away from the table as Erman and Talon move closer to get a better look."Yes?""That chariot spell you told me about. How fast can you go?" You wonder."Around three-hundred, four-hundred kilometers per hour." She grins, smugly. That's insane. "And... how sturdy is it?""In case something happens? As if the whole thing were made from solid Orichalcum, more or less.""That's a useful spell." You whistle."Yes, but only during daylight.""Wouldn't you mind doing a recon to check if you can find the remaining ships, then? Before you move Amata and the others to Tianna City?""Good idea! I'll talk it over with them."As she turns around, you glance over to Erman. He nods back and inches closer."...You said your company already fought in a battle with a lot of Exalted.""Yeah." He rolls his eyes. "Some time ago. Back in Nexus. We were fighting under a guy called Dace. A Solar like you. Well, not really like you. Different caste, I guess. What caste is the small hollow circle with eight rays around it?""Dawn. Specialized in warfare.""He did." He nods and smiles, indulging in the memories for a moment. "I liked him. Friendly guy, no-nonsense, no-frills, straight to the point. An uncomplicated person, and it's a good thing in my book. I hate complicated. Just... there's the monsters, you, Erman, go hit them with your sword, I'll cover you.""It's nice to hear that we're doing a good job." You reply."Not all of you are."...You kind of want to ask him what he means, but maybe it's not the right time. "Your opinion?"He shakes his head and sighs. "I have no idea what a Deathlord is like."You fold your arms. "We'll have to wait and see."[AFK]
>>40239408>"It's nice to hear that we're doing a good job." You reply.>"Not all of you are."Solars in general and not us specifically right?
>>40239454Probably all exalts in general.
>>40239408>"I have no idea what a Deathlord is like."How close can we bring him to the Tyrant without dying?
>>40239454You know Exalts might be posthuman but they are still people. People vary widely, there are assholes, altruists, maniacs, philantrophes and really just very hard working people
>>40239454Might be the Bull guy.
>>40239598I'm aware, I just really don't want to hear we're doing badly when were about to fight the fucking Silver Prince
>>40239408>"We were fighting under a guy called Dace. A Solar like you"Cameo!
>>40239640The whole Nexus fight he mentioned is actually from one of the Exalted novels
Unfortunately I have to close the thread early, sorry. Something came up. [SESSION END]We'll pick up from around here next time (which I still don't know when it'll be, but hopefully soon)For now, have 2 XP (plus anything for any art or writing that you might want to redeem).
>>40239678>[SESSION END]It's over!No worries EF, things happen sometimes. Thanks for the thread and see you next time.
>>40239408Well, since he's used to fighting with an uncomplicated Dawn...
>>40239598Yeah. It's important to remember that the ratio of total bastards to saints is basically the same in Solars as it is in normal humans. The Unconquered Sun's Chosen aren't any more likely to be righteous bros than any other person. The BBEG to most Solar games should be another Solar with an opposing motivation. Case in point, Moray Darktide. We haven't seen much of this because we attract allies and are inherently likeable to an extremely broad spectrum of everyone. But less socially blessed exalts run into exalts willing to play nice a lot more rarely than we do.
>>40239678What are our current XP totals? How many pieces of faggotry do we need for another charm?
>>40239032>>40239032Or he'll use a decoy. Think about it, would he really show himself immediately when he could turn it into a feint to give himself a bigger advantage?I just have a hunch he'll use a look-alike to make us focus our attacks somewhere he's not.
>>402398465 total, 3 more for a Zenith or 5 more for anything else.1 more for Twilight 3 and then 9 more for Twilight 4.I mention that because someone commited 1 XP to eventually buying Ghost Eating Technique
Hhmm... I wonder how EF feels about artifact evocation trees
>>40239892He hates 3rd ed, which is ironic considering the amount of their design philosophy he's stolen.
>>40239921You know, I somehow understand that... it just doesn't... feel right
>>40239892He dislikes 3e in general, but I could see using some of the abilities for inspiration to ask Val about.Speaking of weapon and weapon abilities, I still think we should come up with a name, but I had been giving some thought to powers we could give out artifacts when we have timeI mostly had two main ideas, well I have more, but these are the ones I think are decent.:-Apply a Holy effect to the gloves/boots, make them more effective against CoD-Offensive ability- piledriver effect: ignore some or all soak and/or double damage to structures
>>40239956I thoroughly disagree.
And what about>>40206309>>40206583From last thread?
>>40239869He might, but considering just how fast exalted can react on a battlefield plus how absolutely murderous a gang bang from karas tia and us would be, any body double would instantly die and the instant he showed his face after that we'd be on him again in an instant. Unless he knows we know he knows we know and his entire force is nothing but body doubles.
>>40240203Depends on the quality of the double. There are ghosts that can at least briefly hold back a celestial exalt.
>>40240250Not three at once when two of them are going double successes at him.
>>40240197I never imagined anyone would take my crazy theory about Maka's dad seriously. I am flattered, I guess. On the other hand, I am very sure that Maka's power growth is abnormal and is possibly not accidental.
>>40240130Not that anon, but feel free to hold that opinion while I hold the opinion that the bulk of revealed 3E fluff is as bad as the Infernals core
>>40240907That's absurd and you should feel bad. Actually read the leak, you dumb nerd.
>>40240307>thinking there is not one person on the internet who would believe a crazy theoryI write stories myself if I don't have the omniscient view I'm goingg to assume a butterfly is responsible for a tornado
>>40240946Actually that anon and I say that after reading the leak- wouldn't dare having an uneducated opinion
>>40241241>the bulk of revealed 3E fluffSeems to me that he was just talking about the kickstarter and forum spoilers.
>>40236537We should think about putting the Hearthstone on a necklace or something, like a regular necklace not a Hearthstone Amulet.
>>40241449Talking about hearthstone amulets... lunars made tatoo artifacts and I once had a lunar with a skin mounted hearthstone... in her navel
>>40241449I have the perfect place where Maka could put it on.
>>40241581A better example.http://i.imgur.com/eF1ummg.jpg
>>40241449I think this should be Maka's first piercing.
>>40240203That sounds like something the Prince would do, actually. But at the same time that'd make it a little too obvious, because only a handful of them would be operating on nearly the level to be mistaken for a deathlord. Would be utterly shattering to morale for a force that knew what he looked like, though.
>>40241874>marring Maka's transcendently, divinely perfect form with a piercing
>>40241926>marringPls. Maka will be just as perfect as she is, if not more.
>>40241926>not liking piercingsBut no I don't think it should be pierced, it was described as a large stone and I think that would look awkward as a piercing
>>40241963>>40241976Hey, I'm fine with putting piercings on beautiful-but-imperfect humans; they can enhance not-yet-perfect beauty. But Maka's beauty is objectively perfect. That's why things like clothes, makeup, and piercings only serve to cover up parts of her beauty, no matter how small.
>>40242005Clothes, make up, and piercings enhance beauty period.
>>40242005Then Maka should disregard all clothes and stay naked 100% of the time?I approve
>>40241925Who is at that level? I mean, there are the nephwraks, but they're all utterly batshit and probably wouldn't be particularly good at pretending to be sane.Lintha Trueblood ghosts? Ex-Exalts?
>>40242034Sure, for mere mortals. Not for a being like Maka. Even the most perfect of makeup would be the equivalent of ugly graffiti on her utterly perfect face.
>>40242051Nah, she should totally wear clothing when she wants to cover up her divine splendor. But when she wants to look her best? Yes, her best is absolutely utterly and completely nude.
>>40242057Tia, get off the internet. Maka needs you to fight the Silver Prince.
>>40242080Wearing clothes is a seduction tactic as well. Make the other party want to take a peek and tease them~.
>>40242103Sure, because they're covering up your otherwise inhumanly divine beauty, a cruel mockery in the form of a garment. But they don't make you look better. They just make people want to thrown them to the floor so they can put their tongue on your skin.
>>40242080>wanting to cover her divine splendor>everBut for waht purpose?
>>40242053Well, yozi and incredibly powerful Raksha, for one, but that's not what I meant. I meant someone who fights on a level who could pretend to be a Deathlord that isn't really trying, or seems like it could be a Deathlord to someone who doesn't know the exact power and ability of one. Like our entire cast except tyrant's homies. It's one thing hearing a deathlord is a supreme baddy, and another thing entirely judging what one looks like in action unless you've fought one before.
>>40242146Making people pay attention to the battle plans instead of trying to rub their genitals on you?
>>40242159Nysela in her prime might be able to give a deathlord a run for its money as well. I mean, she did fight Luna without dying horribly, twice.
>>40242174Not-mortals are better than that, anon. They are capable of paying attention and still want to rub their genitals on Maka.During actual fights, it can be a good or a bad thing. I think most people from Tianna are used to Maka's exhibitionism enough to be able to focus on the battle, though. Actually, fighting for their lives should be enough to make them focus.
>>40242239I don't know about that, anon. If they have to pick between rubbing their genitals on Maka and not getting stabbed to death, they might just do the former if she doesn't at least cover her nipples first.
>>40242270If it was like that, Maka would just have to stand naked on the battlefield and there would be no war.
>>40242296If it weren't for the fact that the Silver Prince probably has charms which bolster his armies' resolve, then yes, Horizon to Horizon would probably let us do exactly that. Strolling out onto the battlefield nude and the automatic resulting social attack would probably end any battle without supernatural support. We wouldn't even have to evoke HSDD - but we could.
>>40242214Right. In either case, a particularly powerful Abyssal or Exalted could possibly pose as a Deathlord, maybe a few ghosts. Nephwracks definitely could but they're utterly batshit and pretty much never leave the pit-o-oblivion.
>>40236537>Golden heartOn one hand, it is gold and hear imagery fit Maka greatly. On the other, it's not a Pearl. That the heart shaped symbol is based on butts makes it all better.
>>40243185>That the heart shaped symbol is based on butts makes it all better. No, it isn't. It's based on the seed of a now-extinct contraceptive plant that was used to extinction by the entire ancient world for consequence-free sex:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SilphiumThe fact that it resembles female body parts is entirely coincidental. A happy coincidence, obviously.
>>40243185>>40243257Always thought it was based on testicles.
>>40243385>Inverted heart symbols have been used in heraldry as stylized testicles (coglioni in Italian) as in the canting arms of the Colleoni family of MilanUh. EF is italian, right? And has a huge boner for heraldry. Might ask him about it.
>>40243257Butt, testicles or consequence-free sex. They all fit Maka, so it's all good.
>>40243494Oh, absolutely. It's just a fun fact, is all, that the symbol of Western love is based on the seed from a contraceptive plant that the ancients overused to the point that it went completely extinct. To the point that they put it on their coins. Our symbol for romantic love and infatuation is derived from ancient birth control.
>>40242397To be fair, he probably does have at least one Terestrial exalt ghost working for him given how long he's been in power.Sidenote: anyone have any idea how many godblooded there are in tiana? They're usually more of them then exalts unless you're in a hardcore immaculate area.
>>40243557>Sidenote: anyone have any idea how many godblooded there are in tiana?Nope. But they do have an unusually large number of Dragon-blooded for somewhere outside of the Blessed Isle.
Wonder if Silk will ever attempt to be serious or kuudere. Try out different archetypes and see what tingle's Maka's fancy more. This isn't an excuse for EF to post more slimegirls when writing Silk, nope, no sir.
>>40244090>Wonder if Silk will ever attempt to be serious or kuudere.Of course she will, she's a Fair Folk. She's physically incapable of not trying out new roles. To her, a personality is the equivalent of a pair of pants - discarded and replaced as soon as it's not longer interesting or comfortable.
Writing fics is harder than I thought.
>>40245350I know, right?
