The scene: It's 12pm, midnight. You're hungry, cold and tired after your insufferable cunt of a manager asked you to do some over-time (who knows? You might get promoted for your diligence! Bullshit. That's what they all say.) to clean up the store. You work at the local 8-10 during the night shift, although you should have ended work two hours ago.The dark streets have long emptied of any life, and as you stalk your way home through the night, you yet again regret choosing this job of all options.> Your name is __________ and you hate your job.

The piles of leaves atop the pavement crunches underfoot, at this point you really can't give a shit anymore. You walk, enjoying the silence that is a far cry from the constant noise during business hours, be it the manager's radio, customers, or the stale selection of songs that are played on repeat throughtout the store. To some, the sounds now might be described as noisy but you find a certain solace in it's rhythmetic rustle. To some, they would be glad that it stopped. To you, you still can't believe the shit in veritable river of fluidin front of you. Dark crimson, dried in some areas but large enough to reflect the lights above clearly. There's no doubt about it, a pool of blood lies before you, connecting alleyway to roadside drain.[1/2]
The dark sky seems to shimmer as a giggle perverts the silent night sky, though adrenaline or hysteria you are unsure. Blood pumps through your veins and a maddening pace, your body bracing itself. This is some bullshit right here, this only happens in movies or something right? The alleyway is small, only about 3 meters wide at best, the blood sticks to the side closest towards you, dissapearing behind the concrete walls of a long-closed laundromat. Around you, the closed shops bar you exit from this scenario, seemingly mocking you for trying. A thought strikes you, he or she might be still alive, but the intense giggling dampens your enthusiasm, if you could call that, to enter the abbatoir of an alleyway.> Gingerly, you peek behind the concrete wall, ensuring that nothing hides behind before you enter the alleyway> Nope the fuck out of here, this is far above you. You walk on your toes, stepping without a sound over the piles of leaves on pavements of the city streets, over to the side of the now defunct laundromat. The concrete walls are shabby, almost decayed if it could rot away. Taking care not to make a noise, you pry a loose brick off the wall, the aged cement offering no resistance to you. The brick, no, rock you extracted can hardly count as a weapon yet you find solace in having that small amount of protection against what may come. Now directly next to the corner that hides the truth from your eyes, your breathing hastens, becoming even quicker than before. This is it.You tilt your head over only to come face to face with a girl, too young to be innocent. That's how the movies go don't they? Almost instantly, whether by instinct, shock, or a mix of both, you back off immediately. Your heart pounds against your chest, begging to be released."Mister~! You took too long, how can we pway if the bad men come~? I have plenty of friends?"She wouldn't be out of place in a nursery, but her hands clasp something sharp, bright against the fluorescent street lights Not good, you... you need... you need> someone to help you> an actual weapon, this is some supernatural shit going on here> to get her away from you> write-in

Your vision clears, now that she has exited the seeming shroud of darkness exerted by the alleyway. Her mere presence frightens you, her origins isn't natural, no matter how you look at it. Blood is splattered across her pale jacket, with a hood covers the back of her head as well as most of her face, letting strands of dark hair fall outwards into the light. This.... this creature of the dark needs, must be purged. Nagging instincts to escape, eons of survival instincts grips at your mind to run, to live another day. Yet you stand still, knowing that if you attempt to escape, she'll no doubt outpace you. With that, a __________ falls into your hand, stunning you for a moment before you are forced to use it against your oncoming foe, who is now rushing you with her blood-coated blade upraised and giggling.> write-in weapon((Note that this does not lock your weapon, it can be changed, but this will be the default weapon that has a bonus to attacks))

Rolled 11 (1d100)You dig down into you memories, grasping for protection within the flashes of your life that passes through your vision. You need reach, yes, you'll keep her at bay with your superior length. A dark oaken shaft seemingly made, crafted specifically for you appears within your hand. It's main body runs up for about a meter or so in length before it's head splits into two, both curved steel blades gleaming in the twilight scene. An axe, double headed and shining. A sense of relief tempers the heated pool of anxiety within you, but it soon dissipates as her knife flashes in front of you.> Hit her in the chest with the butt of your ax, knocking her back> Bring your ax down, hopefully onto her skull> Aim to disable her wielding arm with a quick jab with the end of your ax> Write-in

You waste no time, taking the, no, your ax in both arms and swinging downwards onto her, making use of your height and weapon to outrange you. The axe blade falls, as time seems to slow for you. She attempts to strafe to your left in hopes of avoiding your weapon, however your anticipation and her lack of dexterity fails her. Your attack strikes true, cleaving into her head. A sense of dread fills your heart, yet you push it aside. "It's a demon, not a child, a monster. This thing is trying to kill me." You keep reminding yourself. her face deforms into a grotesque amalgamation of flesh, as all life exits her body and it falls to the floor.Your hope leaps, but is crushed yet again as a shapeless shadow darts across your vision, observing you with baleful crimson eyes. It mutters beneath it's breathe before leaping upon the dilapidated laundromat and into the darkness. Weariness fills your body, but you force yourself awake for a second attack. It never comes. Instead, an unmarked car, grey as the building screeches to a halt in front of the alley as four men and women pile out of their transport. Each of them don a similar grey uniform, long sleeved shirts and trousers, the dullness split only by their black combat boots, helmet and vests. Two wield assault rifles, both now pointed at you, One is armed with a longsword, still sheathed while the fourth, presumably the leader, wields nothing, only having metal gauntlets.[1/?]
>>40129090Please let us be a skinny nerd with glasses. The juxtaposition is too good.
Their metal faceplates mask the identities of both riflemen, who stand stockstill with braced against the car, a stark difference to the leader, a man, likely in his 30s, as well as the swordswoman, who you assume is his assistant of sorts."At ease, men. Trespassers don't look as afraid as him, and they'd have attacked even before we stopped."Both men lower their arms, however they remain on guard with fingers outside the trigger guards."We're here to help, keep calm and place your weapon on the ground. Tell me, what do you think happened?"The leader now reaches into the backpockets of his trousers, withdrawing a cigarette before lighting it and taking a drag.> Fuck this shit, try to escape> Answer him (honest)> Answer him while trying to get answers (distrust)> Answer him, write-in> Write-in

>>40129256>Answer him (honest)
Christ, you're too tired to deal with these fucks."Nothing happened. I saw nothing. Going now, have a good night."Hiding your ax behind you, hoping against all odds that this will just end and they're just some weirdly dressed cops. Your hope is misplaced though, as both riflemen instantly raise their rifles at you, causing you to halt."Alright, the fuck does it look like? I'm walking along, I hear someone scream for help, hear some insane giggling, and next thing I know I'm swinging a goddamn battleaxe into a child...THING'S skull!"You wave your ax around just for good measure, causing both riflemen to take a step back, although both the swordswoman and the leader just chuckle as it bites into the concrete wall. Realizing you have no way out of this, you take a moment to calm down, control breathing and in general formulate an answer before replying again."I think that thing just tried to kill me and I killed it right back."The man leans against the car, taking a drag before puffing."That thing you just 'killed', is essentially an extraterrestrial being straight from the depths of Cthulhu. It feasts on people, strengthening itself and continuing. Don't know how, why, or what they are or do but it's The Organization's job to cleanse the world of it. How would you like to join us? Secondly, you people who can use powers, i.e me, you and Alicia over here, are rare enough as it is. Starting pay is ten grand, a month. You'll 'work' as an 'accountant' for a government department."He pauses, before continuing."You'll have training for a period of time, before graduating and joining a response team. If you're good enough, maybe you'll get promoted to team leader. Your job will be to handle these threats to humanity, usually by killing them, sometimes cults, maybe close a natural Breach or two. Seeing as we're a video-game nerd, this shit shouldn't even be a problem for our worldview.
>>40129840what dose the training includes
"Training for... what, exactly?""To give you the basics, your ability to create weapons is simply one of the many we use. There's Shaping, the editing of the world to benefit you and your allies; Changing, the editing of yourself; Summoning, of which there are two: summoning items and the calling of spirits to aid you; and the last major one, Banishing, tearing apart at the matter that makes up trespassers, ending them.""You'll be trained to use these skills, most specialize in the one that is the easiest for them, with a secondary back up skill. Also, general athletics, bureaucracy, dealing with other agencies, and a few other little things.""Look, how do I hide this?" You point at you ax with one hand while holding it in the other for emphasis, "on the way home? Don't want to be arrested and all.""Okay, hold the two ends of your ax."You follow his instructions, grasping the shaft."And pull it together" He closes an imaginary stickYou mimic his actions, and surprisingly enough, it contracts upon itself lengthwise until it disappears entirely."And to summon it back, just think whatever you were thinking when it appeared." "Just going off a limb here, but I assume there's a medical plan? What you're asking for, not having a medical plan would be a deal breaker, ya know?""We do have excellent dental care, all included in the form you'll sign tomorrow."[1/?]
The leader, actually you still haven't gotten his name yet."Wait, before you go. What's your name?"He chuckles yet again, but continues."I'm afraid I can't disclose it fully. Just call me Steve for now."Steve motions for the two men and within a few seconds, they're all out of sight, having piled into the car within moments, although now moving at a considerably slower pace now there's no rush evidently.Damn it, you forgot to ask for a ride. Trudging along the concrete pavements, you continue to make your way home under the glare of the street lights, staring into upcoming shadows warily as you do so.___Eventually you reach your rented apartment, a small bunch of rooms on the upper levels of an apartment block a few streets down from your workplace. wasting no time, you just flop onto your bed and lose consciousness. Dreams flood your mind for the first time in well... months, although your recent fight keep replaying.
