Huh, you’ll have to think of a name for that place: Forest of the six elements? Threshold of the Elemental Champions? Hmm, maybe, neither of those seem quite right. Isla is staying behind to help set up security around the place, perhaps she can think of a better name.Once you appear in your courtyard you want nothing more than to rest and maybe spend some time with your daughters, what you just did was exhausting. You had Isla, your double and the succubi sorceresses to help but you still did a lot of the heavy mystical lifting. As you head inside, Kaela meets you at the door “Your Majesty, a moment of your time?” She is smartly dressed and wide awake, but then, it is midday. You feel like telling her it can wait, but affairs of state can’t always wait...“Yes Kaela” you say “What is it now?” you manage to keep a growl out of your voice.“We’ve questioned the Magisters as much as we can” she says with the manner of someone ticking items off a list “as far as we can tell none of them had any involvement with Alythkirs spying. Now they want to leave.”“Leave?” you say, a little surprised “Why?”
“Opinions differ on why you’ve prevented our citizens from being summoned” she says “some think its a negotiating tactic, others think you’ve decided that such summoning won’t be happening at all.”“But then why leave?” you ask “those that think I’m just negotiating are going to stay aren’t they?”Kaela shakes her head “They’re leaving” she says “though they do say they will be sending more junior representatives to conduct negotiations.”Old wizards used to being the most powerful things around, a cynical part of you thinks, suddenly get scared when a *mere* goddess easily captures someone they thought was one of them.“Alright” you say “anything else?”“Alythkirs fate has been decided by Parliament” says Kaela “his execution is scheduled for later today.”Wait what?“That’s rather soon isn’t it?” you say“Given his apparent power” says Kaela “it was decided that a swift trial was called for, and given your statement that he did indeed attack you, the outcome was expected.”“Oh” you say, somewhat torn between not wanting anyone to die, and wanting the succubi you *rule* to be allowed to choose their own fate.Kaela patiently awaits your next orders, what are you going to do?>Just rest, spend time with the kids>Talk to Alythkir before he is executed>Talk to Magisters before they leave>Talk to someone about how to defeat the Killing Frost (who?)>Talk to someone about how to defeat the Lord of Life (who?)>Do something else (what?)

“I’m tired” you say to Kaela “I’m going to rest.”“You’re not going to speak to the Magisters?” asks Kaela in surprise. You shake your head “No one is getting summoned out of Oreia for now, if the Magisters want to make an offer, they know where to find me.”“Very well your Majesty” says Kaela, bowing “I’ll be in my office if you need me.”“Thank you Kaela” you say, heading for your bedroom. You get a couple of hours sleep before waking, and feeling refreshed. After a a quick wash you go see your daughters, under the care of Aunt Anniya. All three of your daughters are playing outside in the garden, running and chasing one another, as you watch from afar, before they notice your presence Fulima chases Salicia up a tree. Salicia, upon realising there are no more branches she can reach, jumps off from the tree, spreads her black wings and....dives face-first into the grass. You resist the urge to laugh; your earliest attempts at flight didn’t go very well either.Salicia pulls her head out of the ground, spits out a mouthful of earth and grass and starts crying, tears rolling down her scaly cheeks. You start forwards to pick her up but Aunt Anniya is already there, picking up the little part-dragon girl and murmuring soothingly to her. Fulima and Neyma pause in their game briefly, then notice you’re here and run up to you yelling “Mama! Mama!” soon you have a little girl on each arm as they compete to tell you stories of what they’ve been doing: catching bugs, building castles out of sticks, and exploring. Despite the cold weather all of your daughters appear to be comfortable in light clothing.“How did Isla’s project go?” asks Aunt Anniya, Salicia still in her arms, sniffling a little.“Tiring” you say “but a success I think.”
“And the rest of the nation?” asks Aunt Anniya. You know she’s asking you how you’re feeling. Your Aunt never really let go of her old skills, and could tell you more about Oreia that Kaela, you suspect.“Too many problems, not enough time” you say, shaking your head “Orlath and the other Kingdoms, the Killing Frost, the Lord of Life, the summoning issue, and now this new race of infiltrators.”“Yes that does present an interesting challenge” says your aunt “I’ll ask around, see if anyone has heard of them.”“Thanks” you say gratefully.“What’s your most immediate problem?” asks your Aunt, pushing a few grey hairs out of her face.“Orlath and Delax” you say “the winter has been here a while, and I need time before I’m ready to face it again; the Lord of Life is growing in power but I don’t even have a plan to deal with it yet; the summoning is blocked until I say otherwise; and this new race, these Qwekir, well I think I need to know more before I can do anything about them.”“Very wise” says your Aunt, putting a wriggling Salicia down, as you likewise put Neyma and Fulima down, and they resume their game.“How are you planning on handling them?” asks Aunt Anniya “The Orlathians I mean?”How do you respond?>No politics today Aunt Anniya, just time with my children>What would you advise?>I’m going to try talking to Delax again>I’ll try diplomacy with the Orlath government>Alliances with other lands, the Orlath won’t attack when they’re outmatched>Start building the army I guess>Other (what?)

>>39666177>Not voting to start building an army"Si vis pacem, para bellum"- some old Roman guy. It's like you want us to be overrun by our enemies, our children raped and our people taken into slavery.
>>39666222We are already building the army, it was literally the first thing we did after hiatus.
>>39666222Whether or not the army gets built up further has little to do with what we say here.
>>39666222Building the army is normal part of our nation building, it got not a lot to do with Orlath in particular, we'd be doing it anyway.
>>39666161It would be nice to have some description about how the nations on Dahandran are located in regards to eachother, at some point.
>>39666297I'll see about making a rough map, though my art skills are non-existent. Won't be this thread alas.
>>39666317Doesn't even need to be a map, just some description where they are in relation to Oreia/Dornmer. Who borders who, and such.
>>39666338Well currently the Tribal Lands is the centre of the Continent.Oreia and the Azure Empire are within the Tribal Lands (and growing). The other nations are situated around the Tribal Lands like pie-slices.Orlath is opposite Dornmer.
There aren't really all that many nations to make alliances with, as far as I can see.We got Dornmer and the Azure Empire as potential/existing allies. And beyond that, there aren't that many countrie son the continent.Oisen won't commit either way, Muiren got ahateboner for our sister, which we might be able to do something about.Eskia is a pretty bad place, as far as the description shows.>>39666360Who borders Orlath?
>>39666365>Who borders Orlath?Eskia and Oisen
>>39666365Remember those assholes we stole some secret magical scrolls from? We could do something about them. Fund some rebellions, send some agents, maybe help Jianxi take control of that nation and then gain a political ally.
>>39666417>maybe help Jianxi take control of that nationHow would she do that? Jianxi has no particular ruling authority in Kugan. Actually the opposite, due to its social structure no one would accept that. And a destabilised nation in rampant civil war isn't exactly a great political ally, not to mention that kicking off civil wars for political gain is basurdly OOC for Sireyi.
>>39666417Thats incredibly nonsensical. Besides that we don't have the resources to fund rebellions, nor know of any rebellions to fund, why the hell would Sireyi do something like that? And what makes you think Jianxi could take power over there anyway?
>>39666417Vladimir pls no. We have enough problems as it is, starting new one is last thing we need.
“Diplomacy is always my first choice” you say “If Delax won’t listen, then perhaps the people of Orlath will.”“He is their God” your Aunt points out, as the two of you watch your daughters playing hide-and-seek in the bushes.“I know” you say “but I have to try, I have to give them the chance to turn away from the destructive path they’re on.”“And if they don’t?” asks your Aunt, the two of you taking a seat on a bench. You wonder if she’s thinking *when* they don’t.... “I’ve already spoken to the generals” you tell your aunt “about modernising their training and organisation. Soon we’ll start building a real army rather than an ad-hoc militia, I’ll see if Parliament can’t make it a priority.”“That’s good” says Aunt Anniya approvingly.“And” you add “I’ll see about alliances with other lands – if Orlath is heavily out-numbered then they’d have to be extremely foolish to attack.”“I think they are extremely foolish” says Aunt Anniya “but yes, if faced with certain defeat, they’ll have to back down. Building an alliance will not be easy however.”“I know” you say, sighing “Even Dornmer may be difficult about an alliance. Muiren doesn’t like us, Oisen will go with whomever offers the best trade opportunities, or will try to remain neutral – as will Daire. And Eskia...” you suppress a shudder, ugh, undead. They didn’t used to bother you this much, now just the thought of them disgusts you.“Then showing Orlath overwhelming power might have to be done another way” says Aunt Anniya.“What do you advise?” You ask her. Out of the corner of your eye you watch Neyma climb a tree at the urging of her sisters, hoping to try her wings it seems. If she goes too high you’re ready to get there quickly...
>>39666529Vladimir would at least seize clay he can actually do something with. Kurgan is on a completly different continent months of ship travel away.
“The Five-Fold Death of Cities” says Aunt Anniya “You have all the parts, rebuild it and I don’t know, mount it on an airship or put it on the Orlath border – the first time their army crosses your border burn a hole through them, show them you have the means and the will to destroy them if they won’t back down.”You turn to face your Aunt “That will just get a lot of people killed, and could start a war, not just with Orlath but with other nations who feel frightened by such a display of power.”“It could also stop a war” says Aunt Anniya calmly “and save a lot of Oreian lives, the other nations can be placated when you tell them it’s a defensive weapon only. A show of power will make any potential invader think twice about his prospects.”“I suppose” you say, trying to think of a proper response.Your train of thought is interrupted by a yell, followed by a crash, and then crying. Seems Neyma can’t fly yet either, but unlike Salicia, she managed to land in a thorny hedge. You rush over as Neyma cries and struggles against the thorns. You rush over and pull her gently out of the hedge and hug her as she cries, sending your healing powers into her body to repair her wounds – there’s a lot of blood but its surface cuts mostly. It’s been a while since you last healed anyone and as Neyma’s sobs quiet down, you realise that your healing powers have grown dramatically, something to do with the wild magic zone perhaps?[Healing Touch raised to 5; XP spend by Autism Anon for work done on True Angelic Magic]As Salicia and Fulima climb down from the tree, Aunt Anniya asks you quietly “Well?”Your response?>I don’t know yet, I’ll think about it>I’m not building that again unless really I need to>I’ll start building it soon>Other (what?)
>>39666550>I’m not building that again unless really I need to
>>39666550> I'm not building that again unless I really need to
>>39666550>"That weapon is being reserved for a much more serious foe than Delax." The Lord of Life. It's one of the few things we have that might actually put a dent in it.
>>39666550>I don’t know yet, I’ll think about it
>>39666550>I’m not building that again unless really I need toIts pointless anyway, Sireyi on her own is capable of a far more impressive demsontration of power than that, and I'm not even sure if we have a airship right now. Its just a huge waste of resources that could be put in making the actual army better.
>>39666542>>39666529Are you guys implying we should send a few units of angels to Dalvin and return the barony to it's rightful owner (us)? Cause that sound awesome.
>>39666592That would be stupid on so many levels. We would not only start a war with Dornmer, we would also piss off one of the major gods of the continent.
>>39666550>I’ll start building it soonWe need it
>>39666550>I'll consider it. I don't even have an airship yet though, and last time I used it its operators ended up killed and the device itself in hands of fiends.
>>39666605We really don't. For what would we need it?Sireyi can destroy armies on her own.
>>39666592...how? How is that awesome?>>39666570Supporting this.
>>39666574>Sireyi on her own is capable of a far more impressive demsontration of power than thatNot really. I mean, we're pretty strong, but we can't devastate quite as much area as the Death of Cities. Just as effective against an army, but less intimidating.>>39666570Then why would we not build it? And what's the point in reserving it? The nodes can be recharged quickly due to the wellspring and we've deployed it before.
>>39666574Or not. Delax himself might take to the field if Sireyi does as well, who knows? And if Sireyi goes to the field too soon, what kind of message will that send to the others? "She has no capable army of her own, distract/neutralize her and Oreia is nothing">>39666636There is also the Lord of Life. The weapon won't be used against Orlath only.
>>39666665>Not really. I mean, we're pretty strong, but we can't devastate quite as much area as the Death of Cities.I said "more impressive" not "more effective", and a country sized storm cloud destroying your army is definitly more impressive. And the destruction of the FDoC isn't that amazing, its pretty neat, but its actually better in destroying powerful single targets than against armies.
>>39666667>"She has no capable army of her own, distract/neutralize her and Oreia is nothing"No, it says "she is so absurdly powerful she doesn't need to send her armies".Which is mostly true. And you keep forgetting the thing doesn't buold itself its a massive project, even more massive to build a airship to transport it. We simply don't have the resources, and what we have should go in building up our army.
>>39666684Why spend Sireyi's powers when we have a machine for that?
>>39666667Putting that much of your military capacity into one weapon is a fools game. The FDoC can be destroyed pretty easily, and then you sit there with nothing.>>39666709Because Sireyis power is far more easily gained and regained than the resources needed to build the FDoC, obviously.
I have no idea why people could think the FFDoC would be worth anything in this conflict.Orlath is on the opposite ends of the tribal land. They aren't going to field their army and march them to us over land, how stupid would that be. They'd have to cross literally the entire tribal lands to get to us.Not only would it be a logistical nightmare, it would be expending most of their military power on fighting of the orcs clans, not to mention putting the Azure Empire into their flank/back.Obviously if they attack us, its not going to be with a field army.
You shake your head “not unless I truly need to” you say “that thing only brings trouble. If I need to demonstrate overwhelming power then *I* am capable of doing that on my own.”“And start a way between the Gods” points out your Aunt “If Delax is with the army.”“If he invades my realm” you point out “He’ll be the aggressor, I’ll be defending myself, and it only applies if I try to kill him”.“I should think so” says Aunt Anniya “But I’m not an expert, perhaps Syberis can advise you on the rules of divine war.”“Perhaps” you say “but enough politics for now, I just want some time with my children.”“Of course” says Aunt Anniya, and the two of you spend the rest of the afternoon with your children.“Where is Ophinus?” you ask your Aunt, a while later.“Oh I told him to take the day off” says Aunt Anniya “He’s with the other angels today.”---The next morning you lie awake in bed, alone. Would anyone be opposed to using our new ability to bring back the dead to resurrect those two wagon drivers the Magister killed when fighting us?I feel kinda bad that they died.
>>39666935Bit late for that.If we would have had True Ressurection we should have done it, but beyond that, its not really Sireyis business to ressurect everyone who dies.
>>39666935It's been too long and there was nothing left of the bodies.
>>39666935we can't just go around resurrecting dead nameless ncps. What about that one slave that got rekt by a hellhound, should we bring him back too?
>>39666935Eh, they get to hang out in their afterlive now. Sure its sad they died, but ressurecting everyone who dies of violent death isn't a realistic thing to do.
>>39666957>It's been too long and there was nothing left of the bodies.Actually it left their skeletons.

FUCK YEAH! PALADIN OF JOY QUEST!
>>39666985>5 Divine Energy plus 1 per full day they have been dead. It's been many days since then. I'd rather save the DP.
>>39667010Divine Energy is not Deific Power, mate.
>>39667010You confuse Deific Power with Divine Energy, we have no real reason to save Divine Energy.
>>39666985>>Healing Touch: Rank 5 – You can bring back the dead: This costs 5 Divine Energy plus 1 per full day they have been dead.>>You do not need an intact body to use this power, or anything other than the name of the person you are bringing back.Does that mean we could bring back a long-dead hero, as long as we spend some DP on that? I think we should do it!
>>39666985I suspect ripping people from their afterlives is pretty rude. There is probably a reason why people don't go around resurrecting others left and right. Its one of the reasons I hate cheap resurrection though, its a terrible thing.True resurrection isn't 'that' hard to get.>>39667041Generally you can't rbing back people who died of old age, not to mention that old hero probably enjoys his afterlive.
>>39667041>long deadWell, depends on how long dead. We don't have enough DE to spend to bring back anyone dead for longer than 1 1/2 year.
>>39667018>>39667020Ah, right, right. I keep misreading them.
>>39667066But we can use our DP to replenish our DE, right?
>>39667075Replenish, yes. But that doesn't change that we have only so much avaible to spend at any one point.
>>39667052I don't think it works on the unwilling, that's usually one of the big rules for resurrection. If it does, I'd hope we'd at least get a warning that they don't want to come back.
>>39667067I'm actually not sure if its actually supposed to be DE anyway. Last time we resurrected people it cost us 3DP per resurrection.
>>39667084Well this isn't a videogame, I'm sure Pally would allow us to spend a bunch of DP to achieve that if we really wanted to.
>>39667096That was because we didn't have the power and were forcing them back to life anyway, IIRC.
>>39667088>I don't think it works on the unwilling, that's usually one of the big rules for resurrection. In D&D it is, but who knows if its true here.Or true for that specific power.I figure if that hero wanted to come back, it wouldn't be hard to find someone to resurrect him, afterall, the ability is hardly unique.
>>39667107>Well this isn't a videogame, I'm sure Pally would allow us to spend a bunch of DP to achieve that if we really wanted to.Definitly not. has nothing to do with being a video game, anyway. Our pool is just so large. Doesn't matter how much we can regain over time, the cost of a spell needs to be paid when its cast. Thats how it works here.
>>39667113I wasn't arguing for resurrecting the hero, I was arguing for resurrecting the peasants.>>39667123One of the uses of DP is full replenishment of DE as an immediate action.
>>39667137>One of the uses of DP is full replenishment of DE as an immediate action.Doesn't change anything about the argument at all. It still means we don't have more than whats in our pool the moment we cast.Spells don't allow for paying more into it later.
>>39667137>I wasn't arguing for resurrecting the hero, I was arguing for resurrecting the peasants.I significantly doubt these guys were peasents.Anyway, I say there is a reason people don't resurrect others all day, and cheap mass-resurrection is a can of worms I really don't want to see opened.
As expected, it’s not long before your three daughters join you in bed, burrowing under the covers, fighting over pillows and generally doing whatever they can to wake you up.Ophinus comes flying into the room and hovers above your bed, looking down at you with all three of your daughters piled atop you, quarrelling.“Good morning Ophinus” you say, as your daughters debate the best type of fruit pie flavour.“Good morning Creator” says Ophinus, gravely. As always these days, he’s taking everything a little too seriously “Girls, girls please, must we do this every morning?”Your daughters ignore him and continue arguing. You stop the argument by grabbing them with arms and wings and hugging and tickling them until the argument is forgotten. You spend an enjoyable time with your daughters and completely miss Aunt Anniya showing up, until you hear her laughter from the doorway.“You look ridiculous!” she chuckles, you probably do, wearing a hankie folded into a *crown* as you pronounce sentence on an unruly Fulima and decree that she shall have *no fruit desserts for a day* for some unspecified act of naughtiness. Judging by their laughter, all of your daughters think this is hilarious as well, even Fulima.“I look regal” you say loftily, the hankie still on your head “I’m a Queen you know.”“But still not a grown-up I see” observes your Aunt“Off with her head” you say imperiously, to the sound of laughter.---Later, you’re off to Dalvin, to check on Sofia. You teleport there with your succubi guard and head inside the keep, servants bow and a few even say “welcome back Milady”.In truth it is a bit nostalgic: A few things have changed here and there, but much of it is just the same as when you ruled here, from when this was your Barony. You are heading up to Sofia’s office when you meet her coming down the hallway towards you “Hello Sireyi” she says, embracing you and kissing you “What kept you so long?”
“Affairs of state” you say, kissing her back.“Are Isla and Jal with you?” asks Sofia eagerly. She looks well, fit and healthy.“No they’re finishing up with the forest...thing” you say.“Oh yes I heard” says Sofia “your messenger said something about a place to grant people magical powers.”You head to one of the sitting rooms and catch up on recent events, just the two of you.---“Wait Jal was hurt?” says Sofia “Her messages said nothing about that.” Her hands grip the arms of the chair and you see a dangerous glint in her eye. You’ve caught up on the trivial stuff and are now discussing more recent matters.“Perhaps she didn’t see it as important” you say, a little lamely, you know Sofia gets upset when Jal gets hurt, and gets angry at Jal for hiding things from her.“Oh that little...ah, never mind!” growls Sofia “We have more important matters, these weapons the priests of Delax are making, is it, I mean, are they real?”“Oh yes” you say grimly “and Delax doesn’t seem to want to stop making them.”“Well then” says Sofia with determination “What’s our timetable for the invasion of Orlath then?”“Woah, woah” you say “we’re not, we can’t, Dalvin can’t go to war, that’s for the King of Dornmer to decide.”“But Oreia can” points out Sofia “and I doubt anyone in Dornmer will stop me aiding you.”“Never mind that” you say, standing and putting your hands on her shoulders “war, really?”“Do you remember when Vivi and Mili were kidnapped?” asks Sofia, putting her hands on yours and squeezing tight “How we were ready to do anything to get them back?”“Of course I do” you “but-”“But nothing Sireyi!” says Sofia, her eyes filling with tears “They’re making weapons to kill our children – what use is a weapon you don’t use!”What do you do?>Hug her>Tell her the children are safe>War must be avoided if at all possible>If the Orlath won’t listen, then there will be war>Other (what?)The 2 war options are exclusive of each other

You pull Sofia to her feet and hug her tightly, you arms and wings wrapping around her as she holds on to you tightly “It will be fine” you say “our children are safe, they have angels guarding them, and they regularly spend time in Velyas Heaven.” As you speak, you including soothing and calming tones into your voice.“I know, I know” says Sofia, sobbing a little “I just, Sireyi I just get so scared when someone threatens them.”“They’ll be fine” you reassure her “No one will get close to them, and if anyone tries they’ll regret it.”“Good” says Sofia, pulling back a little and wiping her eyes with one hand “and Orlath?”“I’m not going to start a war” you say firmly. You feel Sofia tense up in your arms, but you continue anyway “I want to avoid people getting killed, both the people of Dalvin, Oreia, and Orlath. If we can’t avoid it, then I will fight with every weapon I have, but until then, I will try to prevent it.”“A noble ideal” says Sofia, shaking her head “That’s part of why I love you know – your idealism.”“I uh, thanks” you say, blushing a little “I love you too.”“But if war comes” says Sofia “We hold nothing back?”“Of course” you say.“Good” says Sofia, resting her head on your shoulder “say, have you got to get back to Oreia any time soon?”“Not really” you say. >>39667824The difference is all of these characters are good, so that still wouldn't work.
>>39667824Actually you make a good point. They all have their lives and homes set up and there's no need to be wasting time with them when we should be preparing for war.
>>39667840Good isn't the same as relevant though. All of them have sort of fallen to the wayside.I'll be honest it's been awhile and I forgot Jianxi and Matthias existed. I can't remember quite right as to who Nicolvren is.. I remember Shahulzer though.. Always reminded me of Schnauzer. So I just imagine this giant miniature breed dog breathing fire and destroying cities.
>>39667875>I can't remember quite right as to who Nicolvren isSilver dragon that helped us out a lot when it came to heavy fighting, since she and Shahulzer were the only non-squishy party members we had for a long time.I wonder if something came out of her and that copper dragon.I gotta be honest, I mostly only care about Ebonsong and Shahulzer. Matthias and Jainxis part in this story is pretty much done as far as I care.
>>39667710>Thats a pure speculation, and one I wouldnt have risked their lives on.Demon bodyguards that have been characterized as taking their jobs seriously aren't going to have worse chances than mortal civilians. Our guards had previously backed off at our request, so them being a distance away isn't.Them having a good chance of fending him off while he's suffering from a -17 to everything is, but it's not illogical. There's likely a reason he went for the mortals instead of the people he was actually taunting us about killing. And yes, I know that's speculation, but that's because we're arguing about a fucking hypothetical.>Which would have done nothing to prevent him from castingAnd wouldn't have mattered since according to you, he would be using his standard action before the SF debuff - his previous reason for absorbing - hit.>One of the two teleports would have been a standard action. Which meant enough time for him to get a standard action in himself. The one before we leave, which was specified, meaning he'd be targeting us still and either have to attack then, before then or when we're punching him, since there's virtually no gap between that first Standard Action Teleport activating and the punch connecting. Also, to revisit the other possible plan, we might have been able to wrap a Deific Forcecage around a Deific AM Field to capture him immediately.Fuck I wish we had Radiant Chains back then.
>>39667997>And wouldn't have mattered since according to you, he would be using his standard action before the SF debuff - his previous reason for absorbing - hit.>>One of the two teleports would have been a standard action. Which meant enough time for him to get a standard action in himself.>The one before we leave, which was specified, meaning he'd be targeting us still and either have to attack then, before then or when we're punching him, since there's virtually no gap between that first Standard Action Teleport activating and the punch connecting.Anon. Maybe you should re-read that fight. He used his absorption spell on them AFTER we were done with our round, and in reaction to us punching him in the same round. So the argument "he would be targeting us" is completly and utterly invalid.>Also, to revisit the other possible plan, we might have been able to wrap a Deific Forcecage around a Deific AM Field to capture him immediately.Assuming AMF negates his abilities, which aren't magic but psionics. So it would have been another gamble.
>>39668024>>39667997Fight already happened. It's over.Glad that's settled.
>>39667997>so them being a distance away isn't.That doesn't matter, there is no reason to assume he needed less distance, and given that he was obscenly fast, no reason to assume he couldn't have crossed it.>>39667997>And wouldn't have mattered since according to you, he would be using his standard action before the SF debuffExcept he used is spell after and in reaction to the debuff in the actual events too. So thats not a argument at all.>aren't going to have worse chances than mortal civiliansProbably had better chances, still could have easily died. And their lives are more important to me than that of random people.>>39668053Thanks for that complete waste of a post. The argument was if we could have done something to save them that wouldn't have risked our guards. Which can very well still be discussed with the fight being over.If you don't have anything to contribute, don't post.

>>39668024>He used his absorption spell on them AFTER we were done with our round, and in reaction to us punching him in the same round.Because he moved after we were done with our round due to losing initiative. My point is *precisely* that he did it after we punched him, but that in this hypothetical, he'd have used his standard action already, preventing him from doing it before the next round and thereby giving us the opening to prepare a counterspell before he can while still extricating the mortals.>Assuming AMF negates his abilities, which aren't magic but psionics.Given that every other ability that specifically affects magic works on them and that psionics are considered magic for the purposes of antimagic in Psychic Rebel quest as well, I'm going to go ahead and say it would. Otherwise he could've just teleported out of his AM jail cell.>>39668101>That doesn't matter, there is no reason to assume he needed less distanceOkay, yeah, that one's on me. For some reason, I remembered him as deliberately getting close to the coachmen before using his power.>given that he was obscenly fast, no reason to assume he couldn't have crossed it.It would've given the succubi more warning than the coachmen had, during which they'd probably have attacked him with what they had at their disposal and/or taken flight, making them harder to pin down with that ability. Maybe. In PR, defence mattered to magical and psionic abilities, I can't recall if it did here.>Except he used is spell after and in reaction to the debuff in the actual events too.But not in the same round as he took a standard action. Absorbing them was his only action that round.>And their lives are more important to me than that of random people.Okay, fair enough.>>39668053But we're doing it for fun.
>>39668329>he'd have used his standard action alreadyOn what? If we had teleported, on who or what would he have used it?If he couldn't have casted at all before we were done, due to losing initiative, he would have still ended up using his absoprtion on them after we punched him.If he could have casted while we were teleporting, he couldn't have attacked us, due to us not being there, and would have attacked the guards.>Given that every other ability that specifically affects magic works on them and that psionics are considered magic for the purposes of antimagic in Psychic Rebel quest as well, I'm going to go ahead and say it would. Fair enough. I hand to you it wasn't a huge chance, just big enough that I didn't want to split the votes further by risking it. My greater worry was him using Disjunction, which is why I insisted on Deific AM field later. But I might have just overestimated his skill.
>>39668329>and that psionics are considered magic for the purposes of antimagic in Psychic Rebel quest as wellHow the psychic skills in PRQ relate to magic, is rather ambigious. It would be assuming both take place in the same setting, which is 'possible' but not something I would assume by default. Also, when did we interact with a AMF in PRQ? Don't remember that.
>>39668392Well, the original reason for that point was that the teleport would be near-instantaneous (in regards to how long we aren't on the battlefield) due to the order it's done in, so he wouldn't attack our guards if he gets to take his standard action simultaneously since we'd effectively be there the entire time, or at least only gone for such a short time that it doesn't really register (e.g. he doesn't break off his planned attack at us, his primary target, before we're back).>>39668453We didn't, but I recall Pally confirming that psionic abilities would be affected by antimagic the same as normal magic and were considered magic in regards to abilities that specify affecting magic at some point.
>>39668502>Well, the original reason for that point was that the teleport would be near-instantaneous (in regards to how long we aren't on the battlefield)It actually wouldn't be, one of the teleports would be, but not both, since only one of them could have been reflexive.
>>39668502Also that spider-bitch's Magic aspect was hypothetically able to mess with our psionics if we hadn't overpowered it with Impossibility.
>>39668519Thats true, but could have been because of the ambigious way in which Chaos magic and psychic abilities interacted.Since you could emulate Chaos Magic with psychic skills.
>>39668516>It actually wouldn't be, one of the teleports would be, but not both, since only one of them could have been reflexive.Yes, the latter one would be the only reflexive one. The order was done intentionally so that we'd be on the battlefield while casting the first and the one to return is reflexive, making our moment of disappearance virtually instantaneous.
>>39668536But the time it would have taken to get to the two drivers, and then cast teleport, wouldn't have been, giving him time to react to us being gone.
“Sure” you say to Sofia “Show me everything, and everyone.”You and Sofia spend several days travelling around Dalvin, and the closer parts of the Tribal Lands, speaking to your old friends and allies, and seeing how things have changed in the last few years.Jianxi and Matthias still live in the Town of Dalvin, so dropping in on them is easy.“Matthias is a very good guard captain” says Sofia, as you all sit around in their house talking, getting an embarrassed duck of the head from Matthias “And Jianxi is coming along as Captain of Scouts” Sofia’s smile showing that she doesn’t mean to insult Jianxi. Jianxi just nods and returns the smile.“Of course, neither of them will set a date for anything” says Sofia casually, taking a sip of her tea “even though recent events may force the issue.”Matthias coughs and chokes on his drink as Jianxi gives Sofia a long look “How long have you known?”“You just confirmed it for me” says Sofia smugly “but I’ve suspected for a while now.”It seems Matthias and Jianxi may soon have a family of their own, and both seem happy working for the Dalvin army, such as it is.---Grax is likewise hard at work, drilling new recruits. He offers a friendly hello, but doesn’t have much time to chat.Visiting the ogre mine is, ah well...The ogres seem to be working well with the people of Dalvin, but old wounds are not forgotten, seems they are still angry about the losses in the battle against the orc and beastmen horde. They allow you access to inspect the mine, but it’s clear that the sooner you leave, the better.---Poppy is supposed to be taking care of the church of Velya in Dalvin, but you find her at one of the small churches in a distant village rather than in the Town of Dalvin. “Sofia, Sireyi” she says, running up to both with a smile “how have you both been?”“Well thank you” you answer, as Sofia indicates the same “and you?”
“Oh fine, fine” says Poppy “come, sit” she leads you into one of the churches back rooms and introduces you to the priestess who runs this small church “this is Ferni, Ferni this is Sofia and Sireyi.”“Ah your ladyship” says Ferni, a young human woman, not much out of her teens, curtseying to Sofia and to you, repeatedly “Your Majesty-ship, uh I just, there’s things I should uh, bye!” she squeaks, before leaving the three of you alone.Lunia shakes her head and laughs “Kids huh?”“What’ve you been up to?” you ask Lunia“Oh not much” she says “Running the church, visiting the smaller churches, making sure everything is ok, but how about you, I heard that...”You spend an enjoyable few hours catching up with Lunia, before taking your leave. She seems to be having the time of her life, running the church of Velya in Dalvin.---You consider seeing how Philly is doing, but you did promise not to interfere with Mili’s schooling, perhaps another day.---Demi’s location is unknown, but a quick scrying spell shows her in a fae court far away in another Barony, she seems happy so you let her be, you don’t have the best luck with fae.---You check in on Ebonsong. Although you retain your telepathic link to her, and have been kept up to date with things, it’s still nice to see her in person. You and Sofia visit her in her lair, the dry part at least, whilst your guards wait outside. You chat about recent events in your lives, changes you’ve gone through, how your children have grown.“I’d love to see them some day” say Ebby, sat in front of you in her dragon form “It would be great to see Mili and Vivi again, and I’ve only seen the triplets a few times.”“You are welcome any time” you and Sofia reassure Ebby.“That’s a new shield” says Sofia, indicating an ornate orcish tribal shield with gold decorations “When did you collect that?”Ebby looks a little shifty “it was a gift” she says.
>>39668559>Grax is likewise hard at work, drilling new recruits.Didn't Grax leave Dalvin?
“Oh?” You ask casually “from that black dragon you told me about, Alostrathus?”“Uh, yes, him, says Ebby, shifting a bit “I just accepted it to stop him following me” she says hastily “it was getting annoying.”You and Sofia spend some time teasing Ebby about her admirer before taking your leave.---“So there’s nothing much been happening around here then?” you ask Nicolvren, when you and Sofia go to visit her.“No” says Nicolvren “the local orc tribes haven’t been a bother, game is harder to find but I manage, and no dragon has dared make a move on my territory.”“And your copper friend?” asks Sofia casuallyNicolvrens claws gouge furrows into the rock “I saw him hanging around with a green two days ago!” she hisses “A green!”“Oh dear” you say “well, maybe there’s a good explanation”“Maybe” says Nicolvren, still looking angry.“And if there isn’t” says Sofia “then he wasn’t the one for you.”---You find Shahulzer sleeping, after navigating the various defences of his lair. Eventually he wakes but he is still pretty dopey.“Oh not much happening” he says “just eat, sleep, chase orcs you know.”“You’re getting fat and lazy” says Sofia, poking his large belly.“No I’m not” protests Shahulzer “chasing orcs is hard work, some of them can run really fast.”Seems Shahulzer is semi-hibernating in the cold weather, and even awake, he’s not the best conversationalist. You leave him to his rest.“What if we need him?” asks Sofia as you both leave.“If we do there are a few spells that can wake him fully up” you say reassuringly “He’ll be there if we need him, don’t worry.”---In the werespider village you see the werespiders thriving, as well as non-werespiders living there. You both walk around and talk to people, who seem happy to see Sofia, and there doesn’t seem to be any real problem the spiders are currently havingYou catch up with TwoBlue – who has a new boyfriend.
“We’ve been together a whole two months!” she gushes, one hand holding that of the young human boy, who seems a little awestruck by you and Sofia. He seems pleasant enough but hasn’t been able to manage much more than basic conversation.“Albi’s father is an important textiles merchant” says TwoBlue proudly “he’s going to take over his fathers business when he’s older.”“Two months huh” says Sofia as the two of you leave, I think that’s the longest any of her other boyfriends have lasted – maybe this one will stick around.”“Maybe” you say a little doubtfully.---The Wellspring of Velya is now the centre of a large village and has a church of Velya that is still being built upon the spot – looks like it will be very impressive once finished. The Mayor proudly shows you everything, including their recent harvest – even larger than expected, and their expanding herds of animals. This place has come a long way from the undead-infested ghost town you once walked into.---Ah the Clithenwald...The Clithenwald seems like a normal forest: There’s no longer any werespiders here, and the remnants of the fae court have since departed for other fae domains. You wander through the grove, still feeling trace amounts of the fae magics that once dominated here. This was the last time you truly fought a mortal opponent (if fae can be counted as mortals), battles since then have been easy. You wonder if that was when you truly accepted that you were a Goddess, and that mortals would be a threat to you...“Are you ok Sireyi?” asks Sofia, hugging you.“I’m fine” you say, returning the hug one-armed “just, just remembering is all.”“Well” says Sofia “That’s everything I think, what now?”>Check on Jal and Isla>Spend time in Parliament>Talk to someone about how to defeat the Killing Frost (who?)>Talk to someone about how to defeat the Lord of Life (who?)>Talk to your mother about the specifics of avoiding a divine war>Do something else (what?)

“Back to work now” you say with a sigh. After saying your goodbyes to Sofia, your guards return to Oreia. You on the other hand, need to speak to your mother. You find Syberis in Velyas Heavan, teaching Vivi simple spells.“Mother, Vivi” you say “How’s the lesson going?”“Mother look what I can do!” says Vivi proudly, creating a ball of white light between his hands and making it “Amazing!” you say, as Vivi starts making it change colours, then split into two balls of light. And in truth, it is amazing, he’s using the sort of spell that most apprentices learn in their mid-teens. Who knows how powerful he’ll be when he’s older?“I need to speak to your grandmother for a bit Vivi” you say, hugging him and kissing him on the forehead “ok?”“Ok” he says, utterly absorbed in making his ball of light perform various tricks. You and Syberis walk a little ways away, as Angels soar overhead.“What do you need?” asks your mother, with a crooked half-smile.“About the whole divine war thing” you say “Delax seems to really want to fight me, and I think he has some sort of ally, but what if...”“What if he thinks to provoke you into attacking him and then claim to the other gods that you’re the aggressor?” your mother finishes the thought for you.“Yes, that” you say “can he?”Your mother grimaces “Unlikely but possible. The gods disagree on a lot of things, and so the only real absolute they put in the rules was about trying to kill one another. Gods can send armies against one another, even fight directly, but trying to kill a god is against the rules.”“So sending an army isn’t trying to kill them?” you ask. Your mother shrugs “unless armed with a powerful artefact weapon, a mortal army, even mortal magics...isn’t really able to kill anything except a very weak god drained of their power, so no, that doesn’t count.”“And direct combat?” you ask.
“Gods are generally able to recover from what would be fatal wounds to mortals” says Syberis “massive bodily injury, even beheading or dismemberment can be recovered from. Generally when one god beats another they both know it and the loser surrenders or flees.”“And if the victor kills them?” you ask“Then the Compact comes into play” says Syberis “cold comfort for the dead god or their worshippers of course.”“What would the gods do to the offender?” you ask, trying to figure out why Delax would risk going against the other gods.“Stripped of most or all of their powers” says Syberis “executed if they’ve really crossed the line. It very rarely happens though, and the few times I’ve seen it, they fought to the death against the other gods.”“So killing another god is suicide” you say “Then why does Delax risk it?”“That I can’t tell you” says your mother “as you said, maybe he has an ally, maybe he thinks he can convince everyone you’re the aggressor, but forging weapons especially to kill you and your family...no that doesn’t make any sense.”“So any ally then” you say, or maybe....“Wait, mother” you say “Have any gods avoided punishment for breaking the Compact?”“None on my lifetime, but” your mothers eyes widen “A few pantheons refused to sign the Compact, I’m told that long ago a god broke the Compact and then fled to one of those pantheons and was sheltered by them.”“Could they be Delax’s allies?” you ask your mother.“Maybe” she says, as you head back to Vivi “but they’re incredibly hostile, even talking to them to find out would be dangerous.”“Look Mother, grandmother!” says Vivi excitedly, transforming his ball is light into various shapes, and even simply tools – he demonstrates that its not just an illusion by having a flying blade cut some of the grass.---And that’s it for the main quest, please stand by for Junior Paladin.

You are Milerna Jalweyen, angel-blooded and born paladin of Konig. You are 8 years old, and are attending paladin training at a church of Konig school.http://pastebin.com/RE8br4ufToday is really scary! You went on a trip with other cadets and you were just supposed to be looking after horses and gear. But Chesi went on a patrol with Gilyan, and senses something really *bad* at the edge of the forest. Then the next day the older cadets went into the forest but came back without Sera!Sera is the older cadet you’re acting like a squire to, and a good squire doesn’t lose her knight!Sera seems nice, but there’s some stuff she’s not telling you, you think. The instructors said they’d go find Sera, but some adults are useless, and these seem like the sort that might be useless. So you’ve snuck away with Thomas and Chesi and Gilyan, and you’re approaching the edge of the forest. It’s late morning, the sun is shining and its only a little bit cold, but in the forest it looks dark, deeper in. Chesi grabs your hand tightly for comfort and you squeeze back.“Can you sense Sera yet?” you ask Chesi “I think so” she says, but she doesn’t sound sure “She’s really deep in, really far away I think.”“Well then” says Thomas “lets go.”“If we’re going to search” says Gilyan “maybe we should split up, to cover more ground.”Chesi grips your hand tighter, seems she doesn’t want to be separated from you.Split up? Or stay together>Stay together>Split up (groups?)>Other (what?)

Worst case scenario, monster is about to eat Mili, Sireyi's Heaven's Gaze magic automatically activates and then the monster has to deal with furious angel goddess. And possibly her mother as well, depending on how synced the timelines are right now.I expect it's some kind of thing sent by Hanabanana.
>>39669480>Stay togetherSpliting up seems like such a bad idea right now. Better to stay together to face the threat together. And Chesi dosen't have to find and unite everyone once we've find Sera.

>>39669540>I expect it's some kind of thing sent by Hanabanana.I find that unlikely, since it hasn't made any particular effort to lure Mili herself.

“We stay together” you say with determination “Chesi can find Sera, so there’s no reason to go off alone.”“I am the oldest here” says Gilyan “Ok” you say, but I’m going with Chesi, if you want to go off alone, then you can.”“I’m going with Mili and Chesi” says Thomas.“I’m here to keep an eye on you all” says Gilyan “So I guess I am too.”The four of you head deep into the forest, until it’s all dark and gloomy. It feels like you’ve been walking for hours when Chesi suddenly stops.“Chesi what is it?” you ask.Chesi points ahead “the bad thing” she says “it’s up ahead, it’s horrible.”“Its between us and Sera?” you ask. You peer ahead but can’t see anything bad, just lots of darkness, and big mushrooms.“Yes, no, I don’t know” says Chesi, shaking.“Can we go around it?” asks Gilyan “without us knowing?”Chesi sharts to shake more “There’s people too” she says, sounding scared “people all around us.”“What sort of people?” asks Thomas“I don’t know” says Chesi crossly “people people.”“So not bad things” you say, a little relieved.“But they could be working with it” says Gilyan “like, its servants or something, Chesi” she puts a hand on Chesi’s shoulder “do they want to hurt us?”“No...” says Chesi “They just feel...curious...”You look around but you can’t see any bad things, or people. What do you do?>Just head forward, monsters don’t scare you>Try and get around it without it knowing>Try and talk to the people watching>Other (what?)

Eventually you are past it, Chesi keeps a hand pointed towards the bad thing, and you’re past it, it’s behind you. Then Chesi suddenly stops dead and whispers “oh no!”You manage to stop in time, as does Gilyan, but Thomas walks into Gilyan, stumbles back and trips over a log, landing in a pile of bracken with a loud crash! And a quiet “ouch...”Chesi suddenly whines and drags you forwards, away from...whatever the bad thing is.Then you hear a *very* creepy voice say “what is it now, hmm, more delicious children? You feel...scared, so very scared. As it say Chesi’s name she bolts away from it, pulling you with her. Some of the goblins keep firing arrows but some step forward and point spears at the monster. They also hand you all spears, but Chesi shakes her head. With short spears in your hands, you, Chesi. You reach deep inside yourself and everything suddenly swims into focus, how this thing moves, what its weak points are, how to beat it.“Thomas and Gilyan” you bark out, sounding more confident “go for its legs, stop it moving, Chesi, get behind it, slow it down and confuse it.”You slash at its eyes with your spear, but it closes its hands into fists, and your blade just scrapes off its knuckles. Without its eyes its slower, but seems it can still see, sort of.This close you can see it has horrible pale flesh that hangs off it loosely and a lot of sharp teeth in its mouthThomas and Gilyan are more effective, stabbing at its knees and legs, tripping it up as it....focuses on grabbing Chesi.Chesi keeps out of its reach but she seems very scared of it somehow, flinching from it every time it lunges for her.The goblins help keep it back too, sharp spears poking into its body when it tries to get close to Chesi. It has several of their arrows stuck in its chest now. However none of your attacks seem to hurt in, the only wounds it receives are very shallow ones that don’t bleed much, and it seems more frustrated and angry than hurt. You need some way to hurt it and your Battle Mastery isn’t providing much help other than telling you to go for the eyes or the mouth. But its protecting its eyes, and its mouth is up high, you’d need to get it to stop or go slow to hit either, maybe distract it somehow.Maybe....allow it grab one of you, and then hurt it when its guard is down?“Going to catch you” It taunts Chesi, every time it grabs for her and she jumps back “just like I caught the other one...”“It has her” Chesi points at the place the monster came from “It has Sera!”Tactics?>Fight it and go for weakspots>Let it grab someone to distract it (who?)>Retreat, maybe it won’t follow>Other (what?)

You decide to keep fighting it and aiming for the weakspots.“Distract it!” you yell to the goblin next to you “Trip it down so I can get at its mouth”The goblin grunts at you, but you think it got the idea.Gilyan, Thomas and the goblins all try to trip it and stab at its legs, as Chesi runs around it, keeping out of its reach but leading it on.You just wait, holding your spear tightly and awaiting the right moment. Finally it makes a long lunge for Chesi, over-extending itself. Its fingers close around Chesi’s ankle and she screams in terror, even as Gilyan, Thomas and the goblins all stab at its legs, making it stumble. You try to push Chesi’s screams away, still waiting for just the right moment.Everything happens at once. Its legs get all tangled up in spears and it falls forwards.Chesi yanks her ankle out of its grip and gets away. You lunge forwards and stab your spear into its mouth, but it twists its head at the last moment and your spear goes through its cheek instead of back into its throat.Horrible slimy black blood gushes out of its cheek as it throws its head back and gives a gurgling roar, tearing its face up even more.It quickly scrambles to its feet and flees back to its lair in the darkness, roaring and bellowing in a liquid sort of way.You go to chase it, then realise that the goblins are retreating.“Should we, should we chase it?” asks Thomas uncertainly.“I think we need to get the instructors” says Gilyan.Chesi just shakes, crying.“Chesi?” you ask “Are you ok?”“It was in my head” she sobs “its hurt, and its going to eat Sera to help it heal....”“Oh” you say, as your power starts to fade with the battle over. What do you do?>Chase it>Ask goblins for help>Go get instructors>Other (what?)Please pick only 1 option, unless splitting the party (i.e. Mili, Gilyan and Thomas chase, Chesi goes for help etc)

“We chase it” you say, but to Chesi you add “but we need the gobrings too, think you can convince them to help us?”Chesi gives you a grateful smile and nods, saying “I’ll do my best.”As Chesi heads after the goblins, you, Thomas and Gilyan chase the monster. You catch up to it in its lair, a big place made of branches woven into the trees around it, looking like a big overturned birds nest. The three of you wriggle in through a hole carefully, after listening to it curse and bellow deep inside its nest, making sure its not going to ambush you.Inside the smell is horrible, like rotting meat and middens. Thomas is sick a bit, and Gilyan looks like she wants to, but doesn’t.To you it smells horrible but you all keep going down a tunnel, until you come to a big room, where you can hear the yelling coming from. You all sneak quietly in. Around the room, in the walls are bodies, some just skeletons, others with some rotten meat on them, most look like tiny skeletons, like toddlers? No, the skin is green: goblin children. You feel even more sick. A few skeletons look bigger, like maybe human children.Ahead of you, partly concealed by the monster, is Sera, she is set in the wall and is upright, but looks like she’s sleeping, you can’t see any injuries.“Feed” the monster says, stroking Seras face with its hand “Feed and feel better.”“Get away from her!” yells Thomas, spoiling the chance of a surprise attack. The monster spins around and growls at you all, horrible blood dripping from its mouth.Thomas heads forwards with his spear held high, but the monster...remains near Sera.“Stupid” says Gilyan, staying by your side.If it’s going to stay still...maybe you can get a lucky attack on its mouth or eyes but...why would it stay near Sera? Before it was using its long arms and legs to keep you all at a distance, what’s changed?Tactics?>Just attack it>Try to lure it away from Sera>Wait until goblins arrive>Other (what?)

ok, please roll 1d20 to see how good you are at being a little girl luring a child predator

You need to lure it away from Sera, and give someone a chance to save her. You whisper your plan to Gilyan and then head forward next to Thomas.“Come at get us” you say, lunging forward with you spear and stabbing at its legs, before retreating “Unless you’re scared?”“Yeah” says Thomas, following your lead “don’t like the taste of spear huh?”It growls and bats your spears away as Gilyan hangs back.It clearly wants to stay close to Sera but from the look in its eyes it *really* wants to get you too.You and Thomas taunt it and poke it as much as possible, but it maybe figures out your plan, and stays put, just fending off your attacks for now and staying close to Sera. It also is careful not allow you any chance at its eyes or mouth.“This isn’t working” says Gilyan, close behind you “We need to distract it somehow.”Thomas takes a deep breath and says “I’m going to let it grab me, make sure you get Sera away.”Plan?>Go with Thomas’ plan>Just keep distracting it until help arrives>Let it grab you instead>Other (what?)
>>39672079>Let it grab you insteadWe got the high DR and shit
>>39672079>Go with Thomas’ planI think Thomas can pull it off. After all, he's a boy.
>>39672079>Let it grab you instead
>>39672079>Let it grab you instead>>39672134He's still weaker, less agile and squishier than Mili.
>>39672134>he's a boy
>>39672079>Give it a chance to grab you and pull away, try to distract it from Sera so Thomas and Gilyan can free her, try to not actually let it grab you
>>39672134What about Gilyan? She's older.
>>39672079>Go with Thomas’ planMili is the best in combat, better than Thomas. Let him be grabbed so the chances of hurting the monster are higher.
>>39672079>Just keep distracting it until help arrives
>>39672300Hurting the monster isn't the plan right now, and Mili is stronger than Thomas and is far more likely to be able to escape its grasp and not get killed while in it.
Writing let it grab you.
>>39672329Killing the monster solves all our problems. Just end it before it can actually harm thomas or seras.
>>39672372Here we go...
>>39672378Then letting it grab Thomas wouldn't be a good plan either, if you think just killing it would work, stalling until support comes would have been better.Of course just attacking it would have been stupid, there is a reason its staying close to Sera.
oh and I'm going to need a roll, 1d20 for Mili to recognise something.
Rolled 2 (1d20)>>39672457See thing?
Rolled 15 (1d20)>>39672457
Rolled 3 (1d20)>>39672457
“No” you say “it wants me, not you.”“But you’re a girl” complains Thomas “You’ll get-”You don’t wait to hear the rest of it, you run at the monster and dodge around it. It spins and lurches after you, grabbing you by the hair and pulling you back as you yell in pain.“Oh no little one” it says “You’re not getting away that easily” It lifts you up by your hair and you scream out loud, by Velya and Konig you hope this works! With its other hand it grabs your wrist and guides your hand to its mouth as you struggle helplessly against it.Oh Gods no, your fingers are in its mouth and its biting down no no no no no!It stumbles and drops you, snarling. You fall and hit the floor, but are unharmed – you’re tougher than you look after all.You scramble to your feet to see Sera with one arm over Gilyans shoulder, Gilyan and Thomas supporting her weight. Sera is awake and looks tired but ok, you rush to her side. The four of you face the monster as it glares at you and pulls a spear from its side.“Still I shall feast” it says, shambling towards you as you back away.“Uh what do we do now?” asks Thomas“I didn’t plan this far” you admit“You took me by surprise” growls Sera “if I had seen you-”The monster lunges, only to slam into a wall of blue light, Sera has one arm stretched out towards the monster, as if warding it away.It stumbles back and smashes its fists into the wall, but nothing happens, it tries to go around it, but the wall moves with it, staying between you and it.“What is this?” asks Thomas in wonder“My talent” says Sera in a soft voice “we were the shield against the darkness, long ago, but we failed.”Those words, they sound familiar...somehow. You feel...something within you recognise them, but it doesn’t make sense, and your head hurts. You see winged figures, angels like your mama, tearing the wings off other angels and throwing them down a pit.
“Traitors!” Yell the angels as they throw them “Betrayers! You abandoned your duty!”The monster slams its fists against the wall and you’re back in the moment. The wall seems to get thinner.“You can’t keep this up forever” grins the monster, black blood running down its chin.“He’s right” says Sera weakly “I can’t.”“When the barrier goes” says Gilyan grimly “You two get Sera out the exit, I’ll hold it.”“We’re not leaving you” says Thomas.Suddenly goblins are at your side, lots of them, all thrusting spears at the thing, and forcing it back. Sera breathes a sigh and the blue barrier disappears. Chesi helps hold her up.It snarls and swipes at the goblins spears, but retreats.“I will hunt you!” it promises “I have your scent, I will get you!”Then a very old goblin, all wrinkles and grey hairs steps past you with a big clay pot in its hands.“No” it tells the monster “No more children will you eat, not one more.”“You!” says the monster, and then it laughs “not even you can kill me, you tried before, don’t you recall?”“Yes” says the old goblin “I remember, I remember you eating my children, and my grandchildren. I looked far and wide for help, I looked for Bird-Girl but couldn’t find her, but I found a potions man, and he gave me this” he hefts the clay pot, “a fire that burns everything.”Another goblin with a burning stick comes up at the old goblins side and the old goblin touches it to the rag at the top, and then throws the pot at the monster. The monster jumps back but the pot shatters and burning liquid stuff covers it and it begins to burn, and scream.“Tell the devils that Sleekit sent you!” yells the old goblin to the monster. To you he says “time to go now childrens, yes?” as the whole place starts to burn. You all follow the goblins out the tunnel and you stand outside as the wooden den thing smokes and burns.
The old goblin, Sleekit watches it burn without any expression, then he turn to you with a smile “time for childrens to go home now I think.”“Yeah” you say “Thank you Mr uh, Sleekit.”Sleekit waves off your thanks “hate Eyes in Hands Eater of Childrens” he says “No thanks needed.”With a pack of goblins surrounding you, you head towards the edge of the forest. Sera slung between Gilyan and Thomas, with you and Chesi leading the way.---And that’s it for today. I hope you had fun, next thread is Saturday, same time.XP will be dropped at top of next thread.
>>39672883>that Sleekit sent youAh, fuck yeah.Wonder why he couldn't find Sireyi though. is that what we mssed out when we didn't look for them during the timeskips?
Oh, these are the goblins that Sireyi helped.
>>39672902Thanks for running, great thread. Very nostalgic.
>>39672902Thanks for the thread.
>>39672958It's so weird to roll without massive bonuses now...
>>39672902What would have happened to Thomas?
>>39672973Might have gotten hurt: bitten, or dropped hard
>>39672902How fast do goblins age, compared to humans?
>>39672902If the Unfae had managed to bite down on Mili's hand, would that have alerted Sireyi?
So once again the day is saved thanks toThe Paladin Girls and Boy
>>39673008Lifespan is about 1/3rd of humans>>39673052Very likely, yes.
>>39673061If you say once again, it gotta be girls and boys. Michael helps all the other times too.
>>39672883Awesome.Thanks for the thread OP!
>>39672958>>39672965>>39673099You're welcome, nice pic
>>39673061What are you saying, the goblins did most of the work.
>>39673151Sera would have died though. Which was kind of the point to us.
>>39673124Mili seems to be collecting a group of special snow flake types. The two boys are the most mundane and with the older swordie.
>>39673151The goblins helped, but I get the feeling that this wouldn't have wound up so well without the interference of Milerna and friends.A joint effort.
>>39672902>next thread is SaturdayGotta love these frequent threads.
>>39673081There is precedent for that>>39673151Fair point.
>>39673181>Mili seems to be collecting a group of special snow flake types.Like mother like daughter>The two boys are the most mundane and with the older swordie.>Mundane>mfw
>>39673181I like this Thomas fellow. He's a total bro.
>>39673283But you're a girl!
>>39673283All of our current friends are pretty great. Michael impressed me when he got straight up after we intervened with the bullies and helped fighting.Thomas, makes me worry a bit with the constant loudly charging into things.
>>39673243Pally, pls. All the boys you do are so unspecial flakes when compared to your girls.
>>39673355I think he was hinting that the two aren't as mundane as they appear right now.
>>39673310>Wants to be a hero>Ready to sacrifice self>But you're a girl!As I said, a bro.
>>39673375Thomas is the hero who would be king, calling it now.
>>39673355>yfw they turn out to be insect infiltrates all along.
>>39673243>>Mundane>>mfwWell in Rebel quest the only male in the party might as well had a special ability that said normal as fuck.Maybe Thomas can be a spell breaker type.
>>39673375As long as he doesn't take the same path and ends up alone and miserable, I gues thats okay.
>>39673439in my defence, the other guy was a latent psychic, he just died early.
>>39673439Dev got the most amazing ability of all, good sense.
>>39673439Here the guys are pretty much just as much special snowflakes as the girls though. Actually, the girls used to be more mundane by comparison.
>>39673439To be fair, he was ultra-swole.For what its worth. And he got a sweet mech, with which we did way too little if you ask me.>Maybe Thomas can be a spell breaker type.Seems to me like that would be Michael, since he has the interest in magic.
>>39673473>RIP Rhydian! We actually didn't know you at all.
That reminds me.. did we end up killing Jade?
>>39673730Not yet. We got on hiatus right after we came back, spend too much time in the forest.
>>39673746I thought we hadn't but couldn't remember. Thanks dude.
>>39673730Why?It's not like she hurt anyone we care about
>>39673774Thats the role-playing part, she hurt someone Shee cared about. Even if I didn't.
>>39673511Anon, we all know that having a vagina makes the character much more special than any male character.
>>39673798This. I would vote to try and save someone I don't like if it's IC.
>>39673847Its really more about the tits I would say, but I guess its a matter of taste.
>>39673774Eh. Shee said she would. Or maybe that was the other woman. Either way Shee wants revenge.I don't really give two shits about him personally.Honestly I'd rather mind fuck her with Shee's abilities and keep her around.
>>39673869>>39673847His entire existence was samefagged to hell and back. So I was biased against him from day one.
>>39673881I honestly would prefer that too, but I can't see any way for that to be plausible for Shee. So she gotta die.Still pissed we missed the chance to fuck Quinns sister and rub it in his face, tbh.
>>39673928Why would he care?
>>39673963Because he was terrified of his sister.
>>39673928>fuck Quinns sisterDisapproving Rainya.gif
>>39674023Obviously the chance would have been before getting together with Rainya.
>>39674041Rainya seems freaky enough to go for a 3-some with a vamp chick
>>39674073I don't know how you managed to get that impression.
>>39674073Probably not, way too jealous.
>>39674135She did bang Kae's illusion Shee for "practice," and didn't see anything wrong with that.
>>39674135How can someone there's so many of even be jealous. She's like dream come true for a polyamorous/open relationship.
>>39674183How was that a threesome?
>>39674198It wasn't. I'm saying she's willing to do lewd things with other people, even without Shee.So it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to bring someone else in.Unless it's a "only I can get it on with others, Shee cannot!"
>>39674185Why would she be any less inclined to want her girlfriend all to herself? And in Rainyas particulars case, fear of abandonment plays a role too.
>>39674198I guess at the time Shee was a vampire-chick, so maybe he meant that.>>39674231>I'm saying she's willing to do lewd things with other people, even without Shee.Except she wasn't, Kae had to teach her how to create it and leave because Rainya couldn't get herself to do it in front of her.
>>39674231>Dream version of her girlfriend>Other peopleHell, even that she regretted horribly and wound up falling to pieces when trying to tell Shee about it.
>>39673579Barely did much for Dev. Lots of time was running from one plot thread to another. Another was that getting assaulted when bot dealing with plot too.
>>39674523Yeah, I hope we get that workshop off the ground for him, and get around to doing more for Dusttown, but I doubt it the way the last one ended. Maybe after we moped up Kulrathe and Garrax.
>>39673446Well I guess we will have to see to that.
