Previous Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/39487713/https://archive.moe/tg/thread/39487713/#39487713You are Dhena; orphan, teenager, thief, and recently, your natural syn network was connected to... something. Some preliminary experimentation let you figure out how to supercharge your syn with the thing's energy, which made you hypersensitive and strangely fast, but that's about all you've really figured out so far. You think it let you grab the wind or something, but you're not entirely sure about how that worked. You wound up spending the alchos from your last job quicker than you had expected to. You needed to move, and you needed more trosejo than you expected to stave off the shakes. Long story short, you're in somebody else's apartment, going through their things and looking for what your boss sent you after, another lockbox. As you go through the drawers in their dresser, tossing their clothes aside, you find something very interesting, but which is most certainly not a lockbox. An envelope, labelled "Koitros" - that's the name of the man who you're currently robbing. It's already been opened, so you open it again, finding a nice stack of alchos inside, which you pocket with a smile. There's also a letter, which cases your attention.>State is close. Meet with Wenja at the 144x11 block, use the passphrase 'Cecalos must be fighting with Spija because the air out here is terrible.' The response will be, 'Come on in; they're mating in here.' Bring your equipment.State is close. That's not a good thing to be reading. Is this stuff from rebels? You really don't want to have a run in with the state police.>Get out, now, risk your boss being angry.>Find what you're looking for, risk the "state" that is apparently "close" coming up and fucking you up.>Write-in.Twitter: https://twitter.com/72oOCCJ1

>>39528052>Get out, now, risk your boss being angry. We were ordered to rob the appartment and nothing else, right? Let's not snoop in dangerous affairs without needing to.
You shake your head, focusing your attention on the room. You can't afford to get all worried about this stupid letter. You need to find the lockbox Bheidho sent you after, so you can get paid. These alchos are nice, but you need more. You're going through the closet, checking the top shelf meticulously with your hands, when you feel it. The distinctive sensation of a lockbox, which you pull off and shake by your ear. There's cash, you're almost certain, by the way the weight moves and the noise, but there's something else. Something electronic? What kind of electronics would a rebel use? There's all that malware infesting everything, ever since the war, and that means you don't want to keep anything on a communicating electronic device. Maybe it's just used for data storage. An encrypted diary, or something to that effect. That would make sense. It might even be true. Though, why would he keep the note? He could just copy something down... then you hear it. The distant sound of footsteps, moving with intent, as a group. After your last experience with going on the balcony, you're not feeling enthused about that possibility. But those footsteps certainly don't sound like a group of guys heading to another apartment, hoping for a good time. They sound like state police. And from everything you've ever heard about the state police - they don't come to the slums much - they aren't pleasant to anyone who gets in their way, or looks like they might be involved with their targets, or, really, exists at all.>Go for the balcony again, this time go down rather than to the side.>Try to leave through the door, hope they don't see you go.>Connect your syn to the thing inside you, get that extra bit pumped, and try to fight them off.>Write-in.

You calm yourself, taking a deep breath, closing your eyes and focusing your syn inward. You connect to the wellspring of syn in your gut and you can feel it bloom throughout your body, enhancing you and filling you up, sharp, arousing. You snap back to reality, feeling *alive* in a way you didn't just a few seconds earlier. You move for the balcony, listening as the footsteps near the door. The air's nicer today than it was for your last job, humid and cool, but no rain. It makes the whole atmosphere outside foggy, hard to see at any appreciable distance, but not to any degree that is going to interfere with this. The balconies are laid out a little differently, here, but not by much. You lean over the edge, looking down and finding your target, before climbing over the barrier and jumping across. Your legs push with a certain enhanced strength, and you land on the balcony one story over and below with a thump, rolling into your fall. You rise to your feet, and you hear an earth-shattering crash above you, the sound of wood being splintered apart by a battering ram. You swallow and cast around, your fingers grabbing the door to the balcony but failing to get it open. Fuck. Fuck. You start to move, jumping down from this balcony to the next, your legs and hands scrabbling as you make your descent. You hear, distantly, the cry of a man, and spare a glance up - you spot a State Special Police officer, looking down at you and talking to those inside the room, talking to his squadmates. He doesn't see your face - he's not looking at you, and the angle's been wrong thus far - but you do get a chance to get a decent look at him. He's wearing a uniform that's a tight sort of body armor, hugging his body but obviously bulky enough to take a shot. It's black with small red and gold frills, the latter two being the national colors of the Kingdom of Maghneumi. You've heard the colors used to be blue and white, back when it was the municipality of Maghneumi, but that was before your time. He's holding a large, standard-issue assault rifle, visibly loaded. That realization makes your attention turn back to your frantic scurry down, not sparing a glance over your shoulder as you run for it.When you hit the ground, though, you spot some more State Police. Not Special Police, but State Police, nonetheless. They're milling about, looking rather more out of shape and less well-equipped than the cops upstairs, though they've still set up a cordon on the street, blocking foot traffic. They haven't spotted you just yet, but you doubt that'll last, if you stay here in the alley.>Just run for it, break the cordon. You scurry behind a dumpster before you're spotted, then start to slink around the building, trying to find a good spot to hide. You spot a small window, looking into the basement, just big enough for you to maybe squeeze through. You squat down, your fingers working it open, and it's thankfully locked. You slide in and slip it shut behind you.The basement itself is cold and largely empty, but you quietly explore, waiting for the police to leave. It takes them some time, which means you get plenty of chances to explore. You discover a small baggie of trosejo, and take out a bit to rub on your gums while you wait, sitting down and enjoying it. Your vision sharpens a little as you sit down, your leg bouncing up and down. When you're on trosejo, time's on your side. When you want to experience something, every moment feels like it drags out forever, and when you don't want to experience something, an hour can feel like a minute. It's an incredibly useful little drug for dealing with the hardships of day to day life, which is a big part of why you're now addicted and need it in order to not become a quivering wreck. After what could be two or three hours - which you mostly spend sitting down, though you occasionally disinterestedly thumb through a dusty book that's down here - you hear the police leave, the distant rumble of a plauto's lumbering gait making you feel a lot better about your choice to hide rather than run.>Crack open the lockbox and see what's inside that you almost got captured by the police for.>Take the lockbox to Bheidho without opening it.>Head home to check on Noc.>Write-in.

You slip out your lockpicks from your jacket and start to work them into the lock, closing your eyes and focusing on the lock. The time slips away easily, and what feels like a heartbeat later, the lock comes undone, and you open the box. Some alchos, of course, like you suspected, but there's also a small electronic device. You pull it out, holding it in your hands, looking at it curiously. You've never seen anything quite like it. It's about the size of your hand, and it feels plastic to the touch.Your thumb brushes against the flat, dark reflective surface, and it lights up, making you almost drop it in your surprise. There's some kind of text on screen, as well as a little green dot next to another little white dot, and you pull it close to read the text.>Dheljos detected within 0.5m of device.>Dheljos Status: Attached to host.>Dheljos Identification: "Astja"That's certainly interesting. You try putting the device down and stepping away from it, and the number of the "dheljos" changes, as well as the green dot moving away from the white dot. You pick it back up. It says attached to host... are you the host? Astja is a woman's name.>Try talking to the "dheljos," which has the name "Astja.">Interesting. You take a moment, sitting down, focusing inward. Your syn's still off-kilter from the trosejo that hasn't finished passing through your system, but you're not really concerned about that. You focus instead on the feeling in your gut, the warmth and power. "Astja?" You ask, your voice a whisper, as you focus inward. There's a sensation, tingling, in your gut, and you get some strange feeling of a person. There's not quite anything of substance, just a vague sense. A woman. Maybe in her early thirties. Everything else is too broad or too unidentifiable to grasp."Astja. I'd like to speak to you." There's some vague thrum, and a word comes out."Hello." It's more a memory than an actual phrase, the voice having that same tenor as your *own* voice, when you're the one listening to it."Would you answer some of my questions?""Hello." Also a memory. This isn't working, you think. You decide to take some alternate route, trying to follow those lines of memory, making connections through them. Your uniform is a sharp red with gold at the edges, finely produced and of excellent appearance. Your smile is broad, an easy grin, and your husband Iscro, is by your side, similarly ordained. The gun in your hand feels familiar, and you give Iscro a look. His fingers touch your cheek, brushing it for just a moment, and he gives you that old, strong smile. With a brush of will, your dheljos's power slams against the door before you, brute force of air. You repeat the process again, and again, and the door finally opens with a slam, bashing backwards. Iscro's own dheljos comes to life, flame licking out of it. Your gun goes off, the sense of the room coming easily to you as wind rushes in, air and wind your ally just as fire and heat are his. The two of you move, simple and easy, and the thick smell of burnt meat is pleasant, to your nose. It has a familiarity to it, and you associate it with him. The bodies fall, one by one, as you shoot and kill them with guns and your dheljos alike, power sweeping out and destroying dozens of enemies of Upselos, easily, with little risk. The two of you wait just a moment after the last body hits the ground, both of you feeling out the space with your power. Wind whips around the room, circling the forms of the dead and dying, and you've no doubt that Iscro is doing much the same. Then, you kiss, your lips pressing hard against one another, familiarity helping you along. Your hands run along his back as his do the same to yours. You snap back to reality, some feeling of disjointedness coming with the foreign memory. Some parts made sense, others didn't, and you can't piece it all together right now. You've never actually kissed a boy, so that memory felt a *little* intense to you; you'd like a bit of time to process it before delving again.>Put the device back in the box, deliver it to Bheidho.>Do not put the device back in the box, deliver it to Bheidho.>Go home.>Write-in.

You take the device and put it back in the lockbox, closing and locking it and sticking it in your jacket. Taking a quick moment to breathe and center your syn, you leap up to the small window, opening it and slithering outside with some difficulty. As you tumble out the open window, you worry for a moment that you've crunched the lockbox, but a quick check shows it in fine condition. You keep your head down as you go to the casino Bheidho calls home, and soon enough, you're in his room, still a little high on the trosejo."Took you a while," he says, quirking an eyebrow as you slide the lockbox to him on the table. You collapse onto your seat in the next breath. "State Special Police came. Had to lay low for a while." You let out a long, low sigh, staring up at the ceiling. Bheidho produces the alchos, first, placing them on the table within your reach. You lean over it, snapping them up without further ado as he reaches inside. You turn to leave, reaching the door before he speaks. "Stop," he says, looking up at you. Not wanting to disobey in the middle of his place of power, you do, automatically. "Come back here." You walk back, and he looks up at you, his eyes watching you with an unusual amount of care. "I feel like I want to throw up right about now," you say, trying not to puke. His brow creases, and he gestures to the small trash bin in the corner of the room. You turn, and your stomach swims, the anxiety worsening the sickness you're already feeling. You rush to the trash can, your feet scurrying across the floor, and you evacuate your stomach into the bin with a horrible heave. You wipe your mouth with your hand, and you hear Bheidho pouring you a glass of water, scooting it across the table so it rests on your side. You stumble over to it, taking it, and downing it in a long series of gulps, some of it snaking out by your chin and splattering your chest. It washes the taste of vomit out of your mouth, and you sigh and sit down. "Thanks, boss," you say, with a defeated feeling to your voice."I actually didn't mean the question that way," Bheidho clarifies, giving you a fatherly look. You know he didn't. "See, there's a device in this box which detects dheljos when they're near enough. Do you know what a dheljos is?" You shake your head, not trusting your voice. You honestly don't, though you have a vague idea. "A dheljos is..." he pauses, taking a moment to think before speaking again. "It is a magical entity. Nearly raw syn, but without volition.""Oh," you say, blinking. He taps his finger on the device inside the box. "According to this, you are host to a dheljos. Do you understand what that means, Dhena?" You shake your head. "It means you can do a lot more than this kind of petty theft for me. You can make real money. Get you and your little brother some place much nicer, more secure. Would you like that?" So can we agree that learning how to tear others apart and flying is important?
>>39532600>Yes, that sounds great. We're already an employee of his and he treats us well. Nothing so far has indicated he'll work us to death for pennies. I honestly don't see any reason to say no other than paranoia. Living life as a mob enforcer or assassin could be nifty.

>>39532863Well, let's hope he's somewhat trustworthy.
"Yes," you say, with a sigh of relief. He smiles at your response. "That sounds great."Bheidho smiles even more broadly. "Good. Good to hear." His fingers strum at the table for a moment, then he speaks again. "There's a very nice room on the fourth story of this building. It has excellent syn flow. You can stay there for the time being. I'll send some people with you to your old apartment, to get things packed up." He rises from his seat, moving over to you, and you stand automatically. He wraps an arm around you, and his hand comes to rest on your shoulder. It's unusually intimate for him, but you don't get a bad vibe out of it, as he walks you out of the room."Dhena will be moving into my private suite," he says, to one of the guards at his door. "Get Etsk, Traj, and Lec, have them help her pack up her old apartment. Her little brother is coming with her," he adds, for clarity. He turns to you for a moment. "I don't have any jobs laid out for you, at the moment, appropriate to your... newfound skillset. For the moment, just practice and enjoy yourself." He claps you on the shoulder and pulls his hand away.* * *Noc jumps up and down on the bed, bouncing easily. "This is super nice, sis," he says, before flopping onto his back. Then he turns to you, smiling and resting his head on one hand. "What'd you have to do to get it? Kill somebody?" The way he says it is a joke, but the question is legitimate.>Tell him the whole truth.>Tell him that you got a promotion at your job.>Jokingly agree.>Write-in.

"I got a promotion," you say, plopping your ass down on the bed. You give him a light smile, glancing over your shoulder at him. "Looks like it was a pretty big one, huh?"Noc nods, sitting up, and gives you a sharp clap on the back. "Good work, sis," he says, with a smile. "Good luck with all your future stealing. Or... whatever it is you do now.""Still stealing," you say. "I think." Your brow furrows slightly, as you try to remember what Bheidho said, if he said what you'd be doing now. You were never a killer before... except Nemot... but that was self-defense... except that he was only there because you robbed him.Noc grabs you and pulls you into a hug, making you giggle in surprise. He rests his chin on your shoulder. "Love you, sis," he says, an easy smile on his lips. His fingers start to tickle your belly, making you giggle harder, struggling in his lap as you laugh. "You have to tell me you love me back, or it's weird!" He says, laughing with you."I- love- you-" you strain out, in between laughter. His fingers finally let go, and you collapse forward, hiccuping. "Speej, bro," you say, with a final sigh, wiggling off his lap. "You're such a spaz.""You looked sad," he says, smiling at you. Your lips turn down for just a moment, but when his hands come up, at belly height, you flinch back with a smile and a laugh. "That's better, sis. I don't like seeing you sad."When the two of you lie down to sleep, he nearness of his body feels suddenly strange. Your fingers touch your lips, that memory of that *kiss* bothering you. That doesn't count as your first kiss. Even though it was the first time you ever felt... even though it was a *really* good kiss. But it wasn't your first kiss. That was somebody else doing the kissing. So it definitely doesn't count.>(1/2)
You wake up the next morning, intent on practicing with your powers. If and when Bheidho sends you on a job, you want to be prepared for it.>Delve into those memories more.>Practice connecting your syn to the dheljos's syn.>Try to manipulate the air with your will.>Try to glide or fly.>Try to sense through the wind.>Write-in.

You kneel in a classic meditative stance, closing your eyes and focusing on the syn within you. You feel that bright spark of syn within you, a glowing warmth in your gut, and try to connect to it again. There's a snap as your senses get stronger, sharper, the brush of your clothes against your skin suddenly something you're incredibly aware of. You gingerly move your hands, and they move *more* than you intend, the motions taking a moment for you to get used to. They're quicker, harder, stronger. You focus in on your syn again, trying to ignore the sharper feelings of your body, and reconnect with the dheljos.Ffffuck, that feels incredible. Your breath is heavy, every movement of your body intense. You can feel your own heartbeat, going off in your chest like a jackhammer once a second. Your lungs. Even your stomach. You feel like you can see everything, down to the tiniest detail, as if you were able to read fine print at a distance, though you can't really confirm. You stand, and you accidentally leap off the ground when you do, going a half meter into the air before you reach your jump's apex. Your whole body feels like it's thrumming with power, and you feel excited, hypersensitive. You can hear Noc's breath where he's lying in the bed. Your gaze rolls over to him, and you consider him for a moment before shaking your head and moving away, going to the door and opening it. It practically snaps open, and you rush down the hall. You feel fucking amazing as you move through the building, just exercising, jogging, running. You go outside, keeping up the pace. Everything feels incredible. You're (partially) snapped out of your ecstatic state by seeing Bheidho, who is walking up the staircase. He sees you, and smiles. "I have work, if you're feeling up for it," he says. You're brimming with energy. Why the fuck wouldn't you be up for it? "It's a pretty simple job. You go to a fancy party, you steal a certain item for me. Sound good?">Yes.>No.>Write-in.

"Yes," you say, with a fist pump. Then you realize your place, and manage to pull back, pausing and bowing. "Ah, I mean to say, thank you for this opportunity, Ater." You bow deeper, hesitating before voicing some further thoughts. "I'm not very familiar with the conduct at such places, nor do I have appropriate garments, Ater."Bheidho gives you an easy smile, patting you on the shoulder. "I'll have you trained by the finest girl," he says. "And I'll get you a dress."You smile.* * *Loutsa is the girl who is teaching you manners, the proper way to apply make-up, all the little bits and pieces of how to properly behave around the upper class, and how the upper class behaves among themselves. She straightens your posture, gives you the quick rundown, and generally puts you through the motions."Now, Dhena," she says, sitting at the head of the table. "Greet me as you would the party host."You move forward, taking a bow, grasping her hand where it lies on the armrest in both yours. "Thank you for hosting this wonderful party, Amma," you say, letting go after a second and waiting for her response."I'm sorry," Loutsa says, looking vaguely disdainful. "Do I know you?" "I'm Dhena," you offer, smiling. "I just wanted to say what a lovely party you're hosting.""Very well," she says, waving her hand airily. You move away. "Good, Dhena," she says.* * *The dress that Bheidho had you sized up for is simply incredible. It feels so soft on your skin, supportive without being constraining. It displays what cleavage you have - you're not finished growing there just yet (you hope) - in a way that looks fantastic, and the black color compliments your skin tone quite nicely. The skirt itself reaches down to your ankles, keeping your thighs properly hidden from view, as befits a "lady" such as yourself.>Show it off to Noc before you go.>Head to the party.>Write-in.

You all but prance to your room, feeling excited and full of energy. Noc is sitting on the bed, facing away from the door, playing with those puzzle rings at the moment. You sneak up behind him, tiptoeing over, then tap him on his shoulder. He snaps away from your touch, in surprise, turning around, and his gaze slowly makes its way up your body, starting at the faint impression of your thighs, making a languid trip up to your cleavage, and then finally coming to meet your eyes. There's a color to his cheeks when his eyes finally meet yours. "Oh, h-hi, Dhena," he says, an awkward smile plastered on his lips. "Wow. Um, nice dress. And the make-up! I almost didn't recognize you!""I know, right?" You smile, doing a little pirouette, and you see Noc blink wildly as he watches you, as though he can't believe what he's seeing. Your fingers wrap around one point of the dress, as you smile at him. "It feels good too," you add, taking the portion of fabric and pushing it forward. "Here, feel it."Noc's hand reaches out, shaking, his eyes meeting yours, uncertain, and he finally catches the fabric between his thumb and fingers. "Wow," he says, swallowing, "you're right. It feels incredible." He keeps rubbing it back and forth, apparently enjoying the sensation as he blankly stares at your dress. You lean over him, kissing him on the forehead, and his cheeks color brightly. "Well!" You say, turning to go, gently taking his fingers and prying them apart. "Sorry, bro, but I do need to get going," you say, smiling over your shoulder at him. You give him a dainty wave, smiling over your shoulder at him.>END OF SESSION.Twitter: https://twitter.com/72oOCCJ1Next session on Tuesday, same time. Hope you guys enjoyed.
