Peasant Quest Reboot!Back after a long hiatus with a streamlined rework.Previous threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Peasant%20QuestWe will be picking up towards the end of the 3rd thread. After you get sun-speared but before you wake up. Everything after that is null and void.Character Sheet: http://pastebin.com/uLq59KZpQM Twitter: https://twitter.com/HeliosQMSince the burning spear pierced your skull you have slept, dead and dreaming. The events of your life replaying over and over thousands of times until you have re-lived each moment more than you can bear. The whispers of the passing aeons brush the edges of your mind until you feel a great weight being lifted off of you. You’re awake, confined in a small dark space. You reach out and push against the nearest surface, which seems to be the lid of your sarcophagus. You sit up and look around, there is a strangely dressed man with you in the room. Before he even manages to turn to face the sound of your awakening you are on him, your teeth at his throat. You are so overcome by bloodthirst after your long sleep that that you are scarcely even conscious of what you are doing til he is drained and dead on the floor.Flush with stolen life, your dessicated, skeletal form begins to heal and flesh out until you feel somewhat yourself again. You have been asleep a very, very long time.>What is your name? (First name only, you are an ancient peasant from a forgotten civilization with no family name)

>>39285343Should have mentioned, you are male.
>>39285276William.>>39285343We're a dude anon.
>>39285276>>39285343Seconding that. Named after our eyes maybe?
>>39285395We're a guy. It's a reboot of an older quest from the third thread.
>>39285421>>39285380If it's a re-boot why not go the full mile?
>>39285443Because it's not a full reboot. He's going off of the theme that was established after the third thread and their a characters.I'm sure you can some how struggle with the concept of having a male MC.
>>39285276>>39285385 I'll swap my name vote for >>39285433 This one.
>Your name is AshtonYou take stock of your surroundings, you are in a fairly large metal room. You have emerged from a large sarcophagus which is itself in a larger wooden container padded with straw and sawdust. There are numerous other similar containers secured in the room, some larger, some smaller. There are also several desks filled with documents and strange devices. As the room shifts slightly you realise you must be on a ship at sea, a suspicion confirmed when you go to the rooms only window, which is small and circular.Through some strange psychic osmosis, you are able to grasp on a basic conceptual level the nature of some of the things around you. Electric lights, a computer, switches. You are clad in disintegrating rags that scarcely cover anything, looking at the dead man at your feet he is about your size. You quickly don his strange clothing; A thick jumper, waterproof trousers and boots.>Examine the room in more detail.>Examine your sarcophagus.>Hide the body>Leave and explore the rest of the ship>Write in.

>>39285745>Hide the body>Leave and explore the rest of the ship
>>39285791>>39285801>Hide the BodyYou could attempt to hide it in one of the containers in the room or venture outside and toss it overboard.>Container>Overboard
>>39285868Your sarcophagus. They are expecting a body inside, some people may not know what you look like.
Just as an aside chaps, when I choose options the most important factor is how thought out it is and it seeming like something the PC would actually do. So a little reasoning in the post goes a long way.
>>39285929We are undoubtedly undead. Especially at this stage.
>>39285868>Overboard>See if we can't get something heavy to tie to his body, to make sure it sinks.
>>39285868>containerHe may be important to identify later. Not sure if we're killing everyone on board yet or what. I don't even know if we actually know what we are or what we're capable of yet.
>>39285929Let me rephrase my post then a bit.A sarcophagus is expected to have a body inside, a missing body might be suspicious.
>>39286002Yeah, but we might be able to pass as normal from a distance.
>>39285868Container seems safest for now, we can throw the body overboard later if needed.>>39285929I think they'd be able to tell the newly dead body doesn't match the sarcophagus.
>>39286100In many cultures it is taboo to disturb the dead, most people won't look in the sarcophagus, but the same people who moved it onto the boat will probably move it off, and will notice a weight different.
>>39285895>>39285929You easily pick up the body and place it in the sarcophagus. As you do so, you wonder who this man was. All his hopes and dreams now destroyed, another victim of your ill-considered bargain with the Tree.As you close up the lid you notice that both it and the sides are adorned with carvings. They depict a battle; noble-looking armored figures with subursts about their heads are striking down a skeletal man and woman with long spears. Behind them a village with a giant tree in the centre burns. The scene is....all too familiar to you.You run your fingers across the figure of the skeletal woman, impaled by three spears. The depiction is less than accurate but you recognize Kassa. You touch the lock of her hair still tied about your neck, impossibly it looks as freshly cut as the day you dug it out of the pack she made for you. What became of her and where is she? Not anywhere near you are certain, you'd feel it.>Search the room>Explore the rest of the ship>Hide in the sarcophagus with the corpse and wait for the ship to reach port.>Write in

>Search the room. The various containers are filled with carefully packed artefacts. Some of it is vaguely familiar to you as being associated with the cult of The Sun King. You turn your attention to the desks with the computer and piles of documents. You understand that the computer is a device that functions as a sort of library in a box; however you are unable to decipher its controls and gain nothing from it.The documents are written in a language you have not seen before, yet somehow you are able to understand it. They seem to be a record of an archaeological expedition…on the sea bed.Scanning through them, you learn that whilst searching for natural fuels to extract, sailors discovered ruins at the bottom of an ocean known as ‘The Atlantic’. There are numerous statements from excited scholars about the things they found. They speak of “Rewriting human history as we know it”, “pre-historic civilizations” and “impossibly well preserved artefacts”. Your sarcophagus and the meaning of the carvings is also the matter of some debate, as well as you and the spearhead that was apparently removed from your chest. You are able to discern the date as ‘February 2017’.From the technique they used to date the ruins you were found in, it seems you have been entombed for one hundred and twenty thousand years.Everything you knew is gone....>Explore the rest of the ship>Hide in the sarcophagus until port>Write in
>>39286889>Explore the rest of the shipI think it'd be good to determine what these people are like and how they react to us.Helios are we aware of any of our vampire abilities? I'd like to interrogate people if possible but if we don't know we can.. then that's sort of out.
>>39286889>destroy sun king artifacts.
>>39286970>Vampire abilitiesYou're aware of everything on the character sheet at this stage.
>>39286970Seems like a good idea.
>>39286981Better now than after it has been researched.
Seems that we are at an impasse between>Explore the shipand>Destroy Sun King artefactsI will await a tiebreaking post or compelling argument...
>>39287200I'm >>39286970They've got a point about destroying the artifacts. They're as old as we are so they may have some form of power over us.Best to get rid of them now. I'll coincide my vote.
>>39287200>>39287258concede* Sorry auto correct a shit
>>39285276Did our waifu still make vampires in our image?
>>39287200>You resemble the day old, bloodless corpse of a young man of average height and build with mediterranean features. Your teeth resemble thorns and your eyes are empty sockets filled with perpetual shadow. The teeth and eyes are gonna be a problem.Did sucking the blood help this?
>>39287258>>39287049>>39286981>Destroy Sun King artefactsYou remember the pain of those golden spears piercing your body and the painful aura the warriors wielding them seemed to possess. Before all this happened to you, you were never really religious but now your perspective has changed. Whatever the Sun King may be, he has some kind of power over you and considers you an enemy. You begin opening boxes and smashing the artefacts within. The items you break do not seem to have any special significance or any power to harm you but after having been robbed of everything you ever were or would be and left in a box for eons, you are feeling vindictive. You open more boxes, find more decorative items but not the one you were seeking, a golden spear.>Roll 1D20+7 senses check!

>>39287723We hide to observe. We don't know what we are up against. Listen and watch. We can get in the open afterwards if we need to.
>>39287723Hide, we don't know who these people are and they might posses a spear. On another note I'm glad to see this is back.
>>39287723I'm voting for hide.I think it's best to take a step back and see whoever is coming and if they're armed.Standing out in the open we're liable to either get attacked or panic whoever it happens to be which could alert the whole ship.
I got work in 5 hours so I'm going to get some sleep, but its nice to see you running again, lets hope we don't wait on the boat forever again.
First we hide a corpse. Then we smash up the room loud enough for someone to hear it and come check. Now we want to hide. Are we a poltergeist?
>HideThe only real option is to get back inside the sarcophagus. Thankfully it's large enough that both you and your victim's body will fit inside. Furthermore the lid is heavy enough that it's unlikely mortals would be able to remove it without special tools. You will have to be quick to get back inside and secure the lid before whoever is coming arrives though.>Roll 1D20 +7 DexterityAside: Will take take the first roll as the result but if there is a crit in the first 3 rolls, I'll go with that.

>Stay hidden and waitYou remain silent within the sarcophagus.Time passes and the hustle and bustle of a large number of people cleaning up and cataloging the damage you caused, a man shouts angrily, demanding an explanation which is not forthcoming. You pass out with the sunrise and awaken to the sound of more voices. They are talking about 'Jason'. They have noted his disappearance and seem to believe that he had some kind of 'episode' whilst intoxicated, smashing up various artefacts then falling overboard. His blood will sustain you for awhile and you remain in the sarcophagus, listening where you can to learn more. Until one night you awaken and immediately notice the absence of the swaying ocean beneath you. You have evidently been brought ashore.>Evaded detection: 1XP point>Learned a little about your situation: 1XP>1 successful feeding: 1XP3XP total.Levelling:You may choose to 'bank' any number of XP, saving them for a later time. You may raise any attribute by 1 at the cost of 1XP each.Blood magic has 4 trees you can invest in, each will grow more powerful and unlock new abilities as you put more points into it:Illusion 1 - Silence, spend a blood point to move in total silence for one hour.-Protean 1 - Vermin form, spend a blood point to transform into a swarm of undead rats. The transformation takes 1 minute and you must spend another blood point to return to your original shape.-Necromancy 1 - Ghoul, you may spend 1 blood point to reanimate a feeding victim as a ghoul minion. It has limited intelligence and is unable to heal any injuries.-Mesmerism 1 - With a gaze you are able to put a mortal into a suggestible trance, where you can feed upon them at will or influence their behaviour. Costs nothing to activate but some may be resistant.
>>39289005Protean. We am become death, eventually.
>>39289005Protean 2 illusion 1
>>39289005Necro and protean.you guys can vote on what to spend the 3rd point in.
>>39289005The blood magic abilities cost 1XP each at the first level.Other vampires you may meet will also have access to these abilities at varying levels.'Divine Spark' has 3 trees behind it, one of which has a 'sub-tree' within it. Each costs 5 XP to unlock and will not become 'visible' until you have 5 XP to spend. They are considerably more powerful than blood magic and unique to vampires of comparable age and generation.-You may only develop one 'Divine Spark' ability tree at a time, once you pick one the rest are locked until you have finished that tree.
>>39289005>Necromancy 1We aren't a vampire with out any real minions, plus i have a feeling this tree would be useful for when we are inept during day time..>>39289197This is tempting though.
>>39289005>Necromancy 1>Bank the rest
>>39289197are you gonna use feral necromancers system?
>>39289279Something vaguely similar, yes. (I love that quest)I'll take 20 to make some coffee and allocate XP when I'm back, so please discuss. Will hover around to answer any questions.
>>39289232Not a fan of necromancy, we are basically immortal and having minions doesn't seem beneficial when compared to mindfuckery and shapeshifting. Protean is a for sure vote for me. Illusion could be insanely useful when leveled, same with mesmerism.
>>39289327it seems like Protean and Necromancy won, no clue if we are spending the last XP though.>>39289362I find necromancy useful for defense and grunt work, but yeah all the tree looks really good.Though the mind fuckery one can be a problem later on( both to use and against us).
>>39289362Just FYI, higher levels of necromancy will allow more possiblities than just larger numbers of minions. (Hint: Interrogating spirits and viccisitude-esque manipulation of dead flesh, amongst other things.)I generally try and do weird, off-kilter stuff with all abilities at higher levels, but I dont want to give too much away.
>>39289005>Illusion 1 - Silence, spend a blood point to move in total silence for one hour.
Will go on a first come, first served basis just ot make things easier.-As it stands, I'm getting necro 1, protean 1, bank 1.If you arent happy with that, speak now or forever.
>>39289005oh neat, this has started up again>Illusion 1 - Silence, spend a blood point to move in total silence for one hour.
>>39290026I'm okay with that
>>39290034>>39289717Ok as two people want a point in illusion instead of banking, I'll go with that.Going with:Illusion 1 - SilenceProtean 1 - Vermin formNecromancy 1 - Ghoulaaaand fuck. It's 3am so I'm going to have to call it here.Short thread today but it's good to be back. I'll update the character sheet and archive the thread.Any questions or comments are welcome.
