/tg/ Dungeon Quest Thread Part II

Treasure of the Barrow Wight : The Rise of the Sling King

Summary : Our intrepid adventurer improved his magical abilities, bought a mystery potion (drank it, and acquired darkvision), then bought a sling. He then hired a local peasant named Marty and entered the legendary locale barrow in search of treasure.

He slew a giant rat, and with the aid of Marty, a gelatinous cube.

    Current inventory :

    Glowing Walking Stick
    Bottle of Rat Blood
    2 gold pieces

    There is a longsword here.
There is a steel helmet here.

Exits include South, North (Branches to Misty Corridor and Three-Door Wall)
    >> DM Khidma/tg/ar !o7IoaYt5UM 03/05/09(Thu)02:53 No.3886669
There are no rocks in the immediate vicinity; this is the hallway you first landed in upon entering the barrow, which has already been searched by Marty. The floor and walls are made from roughly hewn stone; there is no debris.

You plant the steel helm firmly on the head of Marty, after wiping it with the base of your cape (which dissolves slightly).

You have chosen : Equip Sword

But you have a sling in one hand, and an enchanted glowing staff in the other!
    >> Anonymous 03/05/09(Thu)02:58 No.3886714

As much as it pains me to say, we must, TEMPORARILY, allow Marty to grip something other than a stone. Give the stick to Marty, equip the sword.
    >> DM Khidma/tg/ar !o7IoaYt5UM 03/05/09(Thu)03:05 No.3886775

You entrust Marty with the glowing walking stick. After all, he's the one that needs it to see.

    You pick up the sword.

The grip is cold against your palm. This is your only friend in the world right now. It's gonna be a long night.

    You head North.

You return to the fork in the corridor. You can head left, to the misty hall, or right, to the three doors.

You expend your solitary cast of Identify on the armor.

Upon the pillar is a Chainmail of Buoyancy. On top of being as protective as a normal suit of chainmail, it bestows great buoyancy upon its wearer, enabling them to float in most liquids and even some gases with great ease.

Examine the room for other signs of life or other doors within this room. Otherwise go look at door 1&2 outside.
    >> Anonymous 03/05/09(Thu)05:20 No.3887421
Make a tower and check the roof for ventilation ducts.
    >> DM Khidma/tg/ar !o7IoaYt5UM 03/05/09(Thu)05:23 No.3887434

You stack the stools four in height and carefully climb atop them. There is no ventilation in this room. Or any signs of life (barring the unconscious goblin, and Marty, and yourself).

I really want to question the goblin...
Never know, he might be an oracle

Goblins can't be wise. They are goblins.
    >> DM Khidma/tg/ar !o7IoaYt5UM 03/05/09(Thu)05:29 No.3887459

You tell Marty that when God gives you obstacles, you smash the obstacles (preferably with your foot) and give God the finger.

Your speech has inspired Marty to want to break down one of the doors. He suggests that you both break down the remaining doors at the same time.

You are tempted to use the goblin as a battering ram, personally.

You line up in front of the second door, while Marty takes his place in front of the first.

    Marty kiiiiick.

You kick down your door and plow headlong into a room full of three skeletons. They do not seem surprised.

To your left, you hear the muffled thud of an unsuccessful door crash attempt.
