>Hunting the demon>Previous thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/38045705/Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Lolis, Killers, Explorers, Robbers.YOU ARE LOLI,And you have a new pet! Though so far he seems pretty useless and he's not as cute as your other pets. But you saved him from the masked amateur with the oversized knife and now he's following you, so he must be your pet. You were even nice enough to give him the big knife after deciding that it was big and heavy and stupid and you don't want it. It's too bad he doesn't seem to understand a word you say to him, unlike your other pets. Maybe Vasa knows how to talk to his kind. You just have to find her first! That is how you came to this place, after all, following what you believe to be her trail through a strange hole in the ground and dropping into this unfamiliar forest, partially lit by the moon above. The question of how night turned into day on the way here would probably bother you if not for your brain telling you that there should be ground above you, not a sky. Maybe Vasa knows what's up with that. You should find her!Your best guess is to follow the sound of gunfire you heard earlier, so you set off with your new pet in tow, idly wondering if you should get a leash for him. He IS pretty stupid, so he'll probably run into danger if you don't keep an eye on him. That task, unfortunately, seems to rapidly grow more difficult, as after just a few minutes of walking a thick fog begins to fill the air, dramatically reducing visibility to the point you can barely even see your own hands, let alone the stupid foreigner who lets out a steady stream of whimpers in response to the fog.1/2
>>38829941Annoyed, you're about to turn to shush at him when the whimpers are replaced by an amusingly girly scream quickly growing more distant. Turning about, you find he has been replaced with a wide hole in the ground from which you hear a loud splash followed by the man's panicked yelling that may or may not be gibberish in his own language. You still don't know. Why can't he just learn Russian like a good foreigner. Even that Dave guy knew how to talk, and he was a huge poopyhead.Taking another look about, you can only be amazed at his timing of this little incident as you can just barely make out the surface of a wall in the near distance in front of you. You're tempted to simply leave him in that hole and carry on looking for Vasa. But you're supposed to be nice to your pets, aren't you?Your pondering is met with yet another interruption as sirens begin to blare loudly in your ears. A blowout? Looks like you'll have to decide where to go right now![ ] Leave the mook, seek cover inside the building.[ ] Follow the mook, jump into the hole.[ ] Something else? (Write-in)

>>38829953>[ ] Follow the mook, jump into the hole.Sorry I'm late for the first vote Nee-san, but I'm here now!
Just 2 players so far, huh? Well, I'll just take what I can get and blame Kaleun for not being around to retweet.
>>38829953You let out an annoyed sigh as you settle on a decision, peering into the chasm and seeing nothing. The splash and lack of pain in the cries coming beneath at least reassures you that it's probably safe to jump. Probably."Out of the way!" You cry out as you take the leap, momentarily forgetting that he doesn't understand you.Maybe you're being too nice to the dummy. The sirens continue to ring in your ears as you descend, the wind sending your hair waving behind you and briefly reminding you of the times you'd speed through the Zone on top of Eliza. For a several tons heavy weapon of war, she sure could go fast! If only you still had her around...The impact of crashing into the water knocks you right out of your memories of the past and back into the confusing present. Confusing, and cold. You need to get out of this water before you get sick!Bringing your head back above the water, you're met with darkness all around you, slightly relieved that this hole actually did lead underground. You can just barely make out the hand reaching out towards you, accompanied by the now even more terrified voice of your pet. Grabbing hold of his arm, he immediately pulls you out of the water and unto what feels like a surface of rock.Deciding that being able to see would be helpful you scramble through your pockets for your flashlight. Flicking the switch, you take a moment to inspect your surroundings. Then another moment, as you discover the environment to be changing before your eyes, the smooth rock walls around you as well as the ground under your feet melting away to reveal grids of rusty iron wire, a seemingly endless dark void behind it. The pool of water behind you gradually darkens, turning a solid black. 1/2
>>38831396Your pet, who you're starting to realize probably needs a name, is surprisingly calm at this development. He's still whimpering like a frightened dog, but from his behavior so far you would have expected him to be running around like a headless chicken. Still, he's being too loud, so you pat him lightly on the arm."Calm down <pet name>! I'm here, aren't I?">You should give Slasher Mook a name now that you've decided to actually try to keep him alive! I'll be open to suggestions for a few more updates, in case more players turn up.Opposite of the pool you see what appears to be one of only two exits, a tunnel composed of the same grids of iron wire enclosing a narrow area no more than a couple of meters in width and height, reminding you of a very long cage.Alternatively, you could attempt to climb back up through the hole you jumped in. These new "walls" should be pretty easy to climb, right? You just hope that nothing is in that "water."[ ] Continue into the dark. What could possibly go wrong?[ ] Try to climb back to the surface, this is too weird.[ ] Something else?

>>38831413Zako>[ ] Continue into the dark. What could possibly go wrong?
>>38831413>[ ] Continue into the dark. What could possibly go wrong?Kazed
>>38831413You whip your light back and forth between the two choices a few times as you consider your options. Thinking about it, that was quite a drop, and you're not sure your pet could actually climb all the way back up. Or that you want to. That's a lot of effort! It's easier to just walk, so you set off.Your pet protests momentarily before chasing after you rather than being left behind in the darkness. You set a steady but cautious, making sure to thoroughly light up every step of the way both below and above, slightly concerned by the lack of real walls. Matters are only made worse by the loudness of your footsteps. Despite your best efforts to be quiet, the metal rings out with each step you take, even more so for those of your pet. The same train of thought does draw your attention to the lack of sirens in the distance that might have covered the sound of your steps a bit. You're not even sure when they stopped, you didn't even notice behind the noisy whining, but they've gone, leaving you with nothing but the sounds of yourself, the now-quieted whimpering of the frightened man, and of course the suddenly appearing high-pitched, inhuman screech from behind you, leaving your pet completely frozen in terror.Shining the flashlight back the way you came, you see nothing but the same grid structure in front of you, your light unable to reach the room you were just in.Several moments pass like this in complete silence. Still you see nothing, hear nothing but the heavy breathing of your pet. Still, you both heard that, so you can't have imagined it.You're not alone.1/2
>>38832226You could turn back, try to find whatever made the noise before it finds you. Or you could keep waiting for it right here, hoping it will show itself where you can engage it without being taken by surprise. Or, as your pet seems to be suggesting with his incessant pulling at your shoulder, you could continue moving away. Quickly, that is.[ ] Turn back, try to find the hunter.[ ] Stand your ground, right here.[ ] Keep moving, you have places to be.

>>38832249>[ ] Keep moving, you have places to be.
>>38832249This is stupid and a waste of time. Whatever is back there is not Vasa, so it's not what you're looking for. Keep going! And, to make up for the wasted time, you'll even go a lot faster. Your pet has no trouble keeping up with you, putting his long legs to so good use, you quickly lose sight of him, his panting and careless footsteps your only indication that he ever existed. What a helpful pet. With all the noise he's making, you're not even a little surprised when you hear the screech behind you again, still far in the distance, followed by rapid ringing of metal. Whatever it is, it's running fast. You should too.[D20 to go fast!]Just like last thread, 13s are special and will cause interesting things to happen. Unlike last thread, I've added 4s to that list to increase the probability of interesting things happening. So that is 4s and 13s to look out for now!

>>38832941Looking at it logically, you made a fair distance before this, so you should have a good head start, and you're probably exaggerating the speed of the thing inside your head. Plus, you've probably already seen worse things! You're still running, and as quickly as you can, but you keep your cool, taking each step at a time unlike a certain somebody up ahead. You may be small, but any bandit of the Zone can confirm that you still know how to run. You're more used to running in the other direction, of course, but that's just a matter of telling yourself that you're running towards the coward up in front, not away from the thing behind you. And reminding yourself not to draw your knives when you catch up to him.You do not look back. Looking back is a mistake, the movies taught you that. If you look back, you'll do something stupid like tripping and falling. Just keep looking ahead, even as the noise behind you grows louder and louder, filling your head with images of giant beasts with claws and fangs and tentacles drawing closer and closer, reaching for you...The shouting of your pet grips you back from your daydreaming and you realize that you've finally reached the end of the darkness, the cage reaching some large structure up ahead, its walls looking worn and beaten enough to make the Skadovsk look brand new.Your pet meanwhile has made himself useful by bringing himself in position behind the still open rust-covered metal door that, hopefully, leads you to a safer place. And it's a good thing too as the monster turns from just a scary noise to a hot breath washing over your back. 1/2
>>38833942It's close, very close, you think as you make the final leap, tumbling forward onto a hard concrete floor. A loud boom echoes through the room as your pet hurriedly slams the door shut, then several more as the beast outside works away at the door in vain.Taking a moment to steady yourself and inspect your surroundings, you find yourself now in a large, empty room, a door similar to the one you just came through on each wall. In the ceiling above, a mess of metal pipes, rusty as everything else here, stretches across the room, converging to lead into the room to your right. Loud, repetitive clanking can be heard from that room. Across from you, another door stares back at you, seemingly completely ordinary. The left appears just the same at first until you notice a familiar voice... Laughter...Kris!Wait, why is she here too? Did she come to look for you? Her voice continues, talking to someone, but you can't make out what she's saying.Your pet seems to notice none of this, slumped back against the door you came through, still struggling to catch his breath.[ ] Go listen in on her, it might be something secret![ ] Go say hi to her![ ] Go check the other doors first.[ ] Something else? >>38833958You want to know what Kris is talking about. She keeps a lot of secrets and you don't like that. But she doesn't like when you eavesdrop on her and you don't want her to be mad either. So you shouldn't do it. Instead, you immediately jump back on up on your feet and rush for the door, almost kicking it open in excitement."Hiya Kris-neechan!"The room you find is brightly lit by a large chandelier in the center, the dark wood floor and walls forming a stark contrast to the room you just came from. Already you are filled with a sense of calm and comfort, even though a window would have been nice. A dark red and gold you could only describe as expensive adorns the center of the room. That is also where you find Kris, doing her part in adorning the room as well, from her pretty red hair to the slight feminine touch she somehow always manages to give her combat armor. But you see nobody else. She greets you with a smile and wide open arms. "Loli! I've been looking everywhere for you!"You see no reason to reject the invitation, jumping straight into her inviting arms, taking several moments to take in all the warmth of comfort she has to offer. Finally, you feel you need to break the silence and release yourself from her embrace."Hey Kris? Who were you talking to just before?""Eh?" She yelps in surprise, before bringing her hard around to scratch the back of her head awkwardly. "Eheh... well... Sometimes when I'm alone I start talking to myself... It's weird, I know! Anyway, what should we do now?""Find Vasa! Have you seen her?"She shakes her head vividly. "Not yet."You let out a frustrated sigh. You were so sure you'd found her. "Let's go then!" Seeing no other exits from this room, you turn about to leave."Hey Loli?""Mm?" You turn once more to meet her eyes, instead finding her pistol pointed straight at your head."Nobody loves you, Loli."[D20 Don't get shot!]

Already you're back on your feet when she brings the pistol to bear on your once again."Get out of my life, you little bitch!" She screams at you, her face full of anger and pain.Predicting her move, you duck forward just moments before she pulls the trigger, firing her second shot. With all of your weight behind you, you easily knock her to the floor and grab hold of both her arms in an attempt to disarm her."Kris!" You cry out as tears begin to well from your eyes, the first making its way down your cheek. "Please stop! Why are you doing this?"She responds in kind, her eyes visibly glistening as her face twists in desperation. "You witch! You've ruined everything! You've ruined my life! Freak! You collapse on top of her, unable to control your own body."I hate you, Loli."Another bang returns the loud ringing in your ears, but you feel nothing else. Before you can react, Vasa has rushed into Kris' room, slamming the door shut behind her."Vasa-neechan! Don't leave me!" You scream as you push and pull at the door in turn, but it just won't open."Vasa!"Yet another boom echoes from inside the room. "Vasa?"You try the door one more time, but it fully resists your best attempts. A part of you is thankful for that as you slump down in front of it, hugging your own legs for lack of anyone else to comfort you. You're not sure how much time passes before you're shook awake by the foreigner, staring at you in confusion. You're ready for more. For lack of a better clue, you pick the door leading to the room with the loud clanking of machinery. Behind the door, you find a wide and unlit room with both the left and right side cluttered with a plethora of strange machines, metal parts all around you rotating and pumping for an unknown purpose. The noise, now that you're actually inside, is almost unbearable, as if several gunshots were going off right next to you every second. With the light from the previous room leaking through the door behind you, you can make out another door at the far end of the room. But just to be sure, you pull out your flashlight to try to light up the as yet unlit parts of the room. Above, you see the next step of the mass of pipes and tubes in the previous room, splitting and converging in seemingly random patterns, distributing themselves among the various machines working away. You do not however, that none of the tubes lead into the room on the far end. With all of these machines around, anything could be hiding out there and you won't be able to see it from here. And right in the middle, exposed from every side, even from above, that's where you'll be.Still, you can't just stand here waiting and you don't have any explosives to get rid of all the badness for you. Not to mention that breaking the machines could just make the room even more dangerous!Steadying Empy in your hands, you cautiously take the first step into the room, look twice to both sides and above you, then take the next step. Repeating the process, your progress through the room comes at a snail's pace, but it is a safe pace. Your pet steps behind you, proving a second pair of eyes, or so you hope. IF anything is in here, it won't catch you by surprise. You've crossed no more than a third of the room however, when you spot it, just a glimpse behind one of the machines on the left, the light of your flashlight reflecting off a smooth, black surface unlike the rough and corroded surfaces of the machines around it.It is not making a move yet, perhaps waiting for you to come closer. >>38838034Slowly, you raise your hand behind you to indicate to the foreigner to stop. He responds by clumsily bumping into you like an idiot, pushing you forward several steps before you can steady yourself. The unknown creature, fortunately, does not respond to this, as deafened by the noise as you are. Which also happens to mean nobody heard the bad words you accidentally slipped.Returning to your crazy plan, you slowly step off the cleared path and amongst the machinery, deeper into the hell of machine noise. If only you had earplugs... No sense whining, though, and you keep stepping forward, one baby step after other. The foreigner displays no interest in following. You didn't expect him to.The very next step turns out to be the crucial one, as the hiding creature suddenly springs into action, bringing itself right in front of you before you could even begin to react, and then... stopping. Maybe it's working! The creature is definitely not something you have seen before. Between the long skull, the bladed tail, and its smooth, black exoskeleton it is... actually not very cute. But you can't let it know that, not if you want to be friends with it!For now, the creature stares blankly at you. Or at least you think that's what it's doing. You can't actually see any eyes on it. Maybe it's smelling you instead? You reach out your hand to let it catch your scent.1/3
>>38839830The creature responds to your movement by rapidly bringing its tail forward to stab at you, an attack you only just barely avoid by jumping to the right, landing yourself flat on top of a burning hot machine. Even within just the single moment it takes you to roll off of the contraption you can feel the skin on your right arm being seared. This was a bad idea!As quick as you are to steady yourself after the attack, the creature is already upon you again, closing in for another swing. There's not way you can respond in time, you're just not that fast. You brace for the coming pain, only to see the creature suddenly thrown to the side as an oversized knife finds its way into the creatures arm. Not a perfect throw, but your other pet actually managed to make himself useful!Deciding not to let his efforts be in vain you bite down the pain in your arm and take aim with Empy and let loose on the creature. The shots seem to do little more than make it angry, affording little more than minor dents on its thick skull. You easily burn through the entire mag before a single shot finally manages to pierce through, spraying a thick goo unto the floor as the creature collapses.Whatever that was, it didn't want to be friends. You're down just one mag, and a nasty burning on your right arm. Could probably have gone worse!Nothing more to do here, you casually make your way over to the exit, coming upon a flight of spiraling stairs built from large slabs of rock rather than the concrete floors and walls of the previous room. Seeing little alternative, you climb the surprisingly long stairway, mostly in silence except for that one time the foreigner attempted to make conversation, to which you had to shush at him again. You don't know what's waiting at the top, after all, and there's no reason to give away the element of surprise.2/3
>>38839864Finally reaching an end, you ascend into what appears to be a moderately large church-like structure. But not a church like the ones at home, the kind they have in Western movies. You briefly wonder what one of these is doing in the Zone, before an angry voice echoing through the building pulls you back to attention."Cut the crap already you little bitch!"Why is everyone using so many bad words today? You appear to have arrived at what you recognize as the rear part of the church, the end that holds the altar. Before it stands several rows of benches, though the middle few appear to have been pushed to the side to make room a large red symbol on the floor, reminding you of stories about evil witches and satanic magic. Further yet, before the entrance to the church, stands a single chair surrounded by five men in the black and red uniforms you recognize as belonging to the Duty faction. In the chair itself... Vasa, again? You're not sure how she got here so fast, but it looks like she's their prisoner. On top of that, the dutyers are focusing on Vasa. Also they're dutyers, and you're pretty sure all dutyers are really stupid."You want help?" Vasa starts in the distance, annoyance clear in her tone. "Here's an idea, you untie me right now and we pretend you came here to help us and maybe, just maybe, I don't have to spend the next weeks helping a vengeful little psycho track down every last member of your little club. How's that for help? All you have to do is wait for the right moment to slip over to the next pillar. And with that little speech, every moment seems to have turned into the right moment. You can practically hear the steam blowing from the angry dutyer who appears to be the leader of the little group."You feel like staying here, girl? This witch shit works, you've seen that. Only way you're leaving is if I say so."Another leap. Just one more now."So how's about you do what I say and go find your little mutant friend so we can trap her here for good, just like the demon deserves? Or do I need to get violent?"From this last one, it's just a matter of crawling up behind the bench and you're right up within arm's reach of the leader. Wait, what was that about witches? What are the chances he would ever say something interesting?"Gah, maybe you deserve to stay here too, living through your worst nightma-ghurgh"Woops, you didn't let him finish. How rude of you! The remaining dutyers are slow to react and before they've even reached for their guns you've leapt into reach of the left pair, using each hand to jab both through their throats with a rewarding slush as each of them paints the side of the others head a beautiful red. This about the point where the sudden realization of the sharp pain in your right arm returning sets in, causing you to drop your stabber on the ground. Embarrassing!Deciding to play it just a little safe, you drop behind the collapsing form of the leftmost dutyer for cover and drawing just one of your pistols in your left hand. Using guns is practically cheating, but you'd rather just get job done right. Poking your head out of cover for just a moment, you lazily take aim on the two still struggling for cover and, with two rounds for each just to be safe, make short work of the pair.Vasa looks around her casually, gives you a soft nod and stands up, moving firmly towards a corner of the building you only now noticed has become the temporary home for her gear."I thought you were tied up?" You blurt out in confusion. She shrugs lightly at this. "Safer to let them think that.""Okay... But uhm, are you... I mean, just before I saw you and Kris and you were... uhm, not very okay?""Been here all the time." She responds without hesitation. "Probably just this place getting to you.""Then you and Kris are...?"Why would Kris be here, Loli?"Finally finishing arranging her impressive selection of gear, several pieces of which you can't even guess what are for yet, she turns to face you, regarding you carefully."You okay, Loli?"[ ] "No! It was too scary!"[ ] "It was... different?"[ ] "Can we please just go home?"[ ] Other?
>>38841591>[ ] "No! It was too scary!">[ ] "It was... different?">[ ] "Can we please just go home?"Why is it always Loli's right arm that gets hit? We should probably get Vasa's help to bandage it.
>>38841591>[ ] "No! It was too scary!"
>>38841591>No! It was too scary!"
>>38841591"No! It was too scary!" Monsters don't really bother you much, but... You don't like THAT. But it was just imaginary, right? They don't really think that about you. Your sisters love you just like you love them. Right?Vasa looks you up and down once more, before letting out an involuntary giggle. "At least this time you managed not to s-""WHO TOLD YOU ABOUT THAT?" No no no! That was so embarrassing and very personal! You can't believe somebody would tell on you about that! Who else might know if Vasa knows? She manages to suppress a giggle long enough to notice your pet carefully looking over from his hiding spot by the altar. Naturally, she points her rifle at him."No! Don't shoot him! He's my new pet!"Vasa gives you a quick glance before slowly lowering her weapon with a sigh. "I'm not even going to bother questioning that. The dutyers are dead, wanna get home before this place gets freaky again?""Uh-huh!" You'd love nothing more at this point. "But... how?"With firm steps, Vasa marches past you and up to the big weird symbol in the middle of the church. "You know how in bad cartoons the villains always tell you their own plans instead of just killing you?"Bringing her foot forward, she begins to scrub at one of the lines in the symbol with her shoe. A moment later, the entire church has disappeared from sight and you're back in the Zone."That's how stupid they are. Just destroy the thingy and everything goes back."Adding further to your confusion, the time appears to be just before sunset. A detail of much greater import strikes your eye, however.1/2
>>38842405"He's gone! The spooked foreigner is gone!"[Slasher Mook has left the party.]Vasa gives you a nonchalant look at your outburst. "So?"You in turn can only gasp in shock at her attitude. "He was my pet! I have to take care of him and protect him and- actually he wasn't great."With a shrug, Vasa begins setting back towards the Skadovsk. "Big girl."You switch into a short sprint to catch up with Vasa and her long legs. "Hey Vasa-neechan, maybe next it's my turn to teach you?"Vasa continues on with disinterested. "Teach me what?"Catching up at last, your force your hand into hers, skipping alongside her as you chirp your reply. "How to hug?"For a long time, she appears to be ignoring you flat out, offering nothing but resigned annoyance at your invasion of her personal space. Only just as you are about to enter the Skadovsk together does she mumble a reply. "I'll think about it."That's almost a yes! You can barely wait![End of Hijack]
Yes, the name was a blatant lie. Kaleun died long ago. Sue me.Hope you enjoyed some of this mess, even though I have absolutely no idea how to write any of the things I had in mind!
>>38842425>That's almost a yes! You can barely wait!HOORAY HUG TIEMSThanks for the thread Friend, mind telling what was going on with all the different environments and Kris and the foreigner?
>>38842502Thanks for the threads! I had fun, though the threads felt slow sometimes.Any plans for a new quest?
>>38842505Oh, well, one of the incarnations of Silent Hill is as a place that shifts and manifests your worst nightmares. And the worst nightmare I could think of for Loli, who shrugs off monsters on a daily basis while singing cheerfully about stabbings, well...What else?I suppose the lack of mutilated corpse decorations made it less obvious that was the environment I was describing a lot of the time. That's my bad, I just... didn't know how to accurately describe those, so I skipped them. The slasher mook was just that, random fodder. I needed those to be a source of the monsters I shamelessly ripped from other sources. Loli isn't afraid of them, so they wouldn't manifest from her psyche! I don't know why I didn't expect you to hold on to the one you got, though. I was expecting to have you keep finding new ones every time you burnt through one.
Silent hill, thanks for the thread.
>>38842795heh, Loli is a challenging character to write a horror special for
>>38842795So what was Kris doing back in reality while we were running around scared in the nightmare?
>>38842835Loli is the horror special.
>>38842864she jumps into horror movie universes and terrorizes the monsters
>>38842528>Any plans for a new quest?Yes, and it's coming right around the corner! You can follow me on twitter @FriendQM to keep up to date with my plans! My next project is a small one, preferably a oneshot but given that I can't seem to pace myself it may very well end up being a twoshot. I've named it "Fairy Day! The Quest">>38842851Who knows what she gets up to when you aren't watching her?
>>38842924>Fairy Day! The QuestWhat's it about? What's the premise?
>>38842835I'm kind of regretting tying the appearance of monsters to dice. That worked out very poorly for me. Should have just thrown them in when I felt like it instead.
>>38842961now you learn what HK learned long ago, don't give the dice control
>>38842939It's a very simple one, as is to be expected of a oneshot. Putting it as briefly as I can, the quest follows a young fairy as she sets out to become the youngest fairy ever to win the Human Day contests, an annual event (known and dreaded among humans as Fairy Day) in which all fairies of the village set out to celebrate their big brothers and sisters by engaging in a series of contests involving tasks such as "The Goodest Deed", "The Funniest Prank", "The Sweetest Treat" or "The Shiniest Treasure." Win the contests, and you win a big hug from the Queen!Expect stupid level of silly and sugar.
>>38843085sounds fun, can't wait to play it and end up ripping out some human floozies belly button when we try to grab her shinies and then put her back together again with fairy dust
