Twitter: https://twitter.com/shadericArchive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Phantom%20Genesis%20Quest%20_______________________________________You are Alice Zief, Ars Magus technician, and simultaneously a kidnapping thwarter and participant. ... But if they want to be kidnapped, doesn't that make you a rescuer? You'd certainly prefer that to being called a criminal. And really, it's not like you could just have left her there, anyway! Speaking of which, it's been a whole week since then, hasn't it? Getting through the Librarian's perimeter was child's play, since you were able to pass yourself off as just another haggard civilian looking to take her nephew and daughter to safety as quickly as possible. The line was spur of the moment, and you could tell it wasn't quite something Tsubaki was expecting, judging by the way she squeezed you for a second, but it got you through easily enough. Explaining the incident to Jubei was, on the other hand, significantly more difficult and awkward. Tsubaki, bless her adorable little soul, simply stared quietly at the old cat with her big watery eyes opened wide in wonder, giving you a chance to explain that you hadn't actually committed a crime because then she'd definitely be screaming and crying and trying to escape now, wouldn't she? His response was to simply stare at you, visible eye very unamused, for a good long minute, and then pull aside Tsubaki for a quiet one-on-one chat. After that, he asked you why choose the colors of pink and gold for her disguise. The golden eyes are easy enough to explain. They resemble your own, after all. The pink hair is something that you didn't really think about, though. You just pass it off as lightening her hair to that color being easier. Jubei doesn't quite like your explanation for some reason, but lets it pass.
>>38667462Soon enough, he left with Ragna back into the mists below for more training. But he entrusted his house to you."You're gonna be lookin' after a growing girl." He'd explained, while sitting atop Ragna's back as the boy attempted push-ups. "There's a kitchen, and plenty of food there. Lots of beds, too." And, after a brief lecture about nutrition, he'd left. It's been a few days already, and right now you are slowly starting to wake up...>You are alone in bed.>There's someone cuddled next to you. >... Where did your covers just go?
>>38667476>There's two people cuddled up next to you. A.K.A, Ragna AND Tsubaki.>Where did my Pajamas go?
>>38667591Oh hell yes, seconded.>Implying we were wearing Pajamas anyway.
>>38667476>... Where did your covers just go?
>>38667591Wait a moment, Ragna left didn't he? Did he run away because he missed us or something?
>>38667476>There's someone cuddled next to you. Damn you op and your shitty west coast time zone.Love the quest. Can't stay awake to participate.
>>38667864Are you the same person posting here every week that needs sleep?I'm actually really flattered that I have a consistent audience. Maybe I should move up my times...
>>38667476>>There's someone cuddled next to you.............. why?
>>38667476>There's someone cuddled next to you. Isn't a whole week enough for Kokonoe to finish run that DNA analysis on our hair? If so, why isn't she here, dissecting us or something?Oh wait. With all the ideas we gave her she's probably too busy making an Idea Engine or something... Not enough time to care about such trivial matters as a clone of her mother I guess.unless it's her who's cuddling with us
>>38667908There must be more than one. I know I've bitched about it being late before but definitely not every week.Sorry but I literally have to pass out. Thanks for the thread man.
>>38667591I gotta second this, especially if >>38667726 would be true with it
>>38667908It's pretty terrible on the times for me too. It's like 5:40AM here.
>>38667476>There's someone cuddled next to you.
>>38667476You are warm beneath the blankets. And not just because you're under three layers of fluff, down, and fleece. Heat radiates next to you from a smaller form, as the steady breaths she takes threaten to lull you back to sleep. Opening your eyes, the faint light of an ars you left active the night before tinges the room pale gold. Tsubaki's tiny form is curled up next to you, somehow looking even tinier than usual as she gently snores away. Her hair is still pink, difficult as it is to tell in this light. You make a mental note to check with her later if she wants to keep it like that. It was spur of the moment to get you through security before, but you don't think anyone is going to be searching under the hierarchical city for her soon, given the other agents were going around in airships. So, she shouldn't have to keep a disguise up if she doesn't have to. You know some dye ars are supposed to itch or become uncomfortable if applied improperly. Given she's still asleep despite having her eyes colored the same way, you probably did a relatively good job.A mental command, and three blinking lights form into a holographic number above where your grimoire rests next to the bed. It's still early, yet. She won't be awake for awhile.>Get up and make breakfast.>Go back to sleep.>Wait for Tsubaki to wake up.
>>38668933>Go back to sleep.
>>38668933>OtherOBSERVE: We can detect heat from another source on the other side of the bed. It's Ragna.
>>38669001>>38668933This + Go back to sleepOP you nigger, stop posting pictures for ants
>>38668933>Go back to sleep.>>38669001No
>>38669001I'll second that.>>38668933>>Go back to sleep.
>>38668933>ObserveRagna in bed>Go back to sleep
>>38669001That... is not how Observation/Intervention works.Also...>Everyone voting for going back to bed>Not letting Tsubaki wake up to a warm smile or making breakfast for herI'm surprised.
>>38669213>Basically, if I don't specify something, you can ask about it. Depending on the depth of Observation, you could gain the ability to make an Intervention, which is basically using quantum bullshit to make a change to the environs. This could manifest as you dodging to right instead of the left, things that would otherwise be relatively improbable happening, or other things like that.It maniested as Ragna felt emotional due to his connection to us and ran away from Jubei, resulting in him ending up in or upon the bed as he broke into the house during the night.>To use Nasu's marble analogy, there are 10 marbles in the bag. One of them is red. You could perform an Intervention to ensure that you drew the red marble. It's within the realm of possibility, but a little unlikely. It is unlikely this is possible due to Ragna's state of mind, however Observation/Intervention overcomes that.Is it really not how that works?
>>38669213I'd switch to waiting for her to wake up if possible. Then we can make breakfast together.
>>38669213Eh, I figured Tsubaki would enjoy the process of cooking with her new oneesan much more than the breakfast itself.
>>38669272The mechanic is based around influencing the outcome of actions. You can't just teleport someone from the middle of the woods into bed with you because of emotional bond. To use a coinflip as an example, you can use Observation to ask questions about the environs (what kind of coin is it, what's it made of, why are metal coins a thing in an era where everyone is probably using a magical currency backed by the Library?) and from there use Intervention to shape the out come (Heads, tails, edge, falls down a grate never to be seen again).... Coincidentally, if I were you guys, I'd look into hitting a casino at some point.
>>38669490>why are metal coins a thing in an era where everyone is probably using a magical currency backed by the Library?Y'know that's actually a good question. Why ARE they using them?
>>38669490I'm not saying they teleported, I'm saying that while we were asleep Ragna experienced great stress (VIA Intervention on him failing multiple tests of Jubei's) during his training, said stress brought him to break and flee from Jubei, by chance (Invention) he thought of us. Making his way back through the night he ended up back at our house. It's not hard you know. Admittedly it perhaps should be done for the next night rather than this one.
Can we just get on with the quest?
>>38668933In between the warm blankets, dim light, and Tsubaki's own breathing, there's a lot of things that suggest you should just go back to sleep. And it's not like you have any reason to get out of bed early today anyway. ...Drifting. You are drifting on a raft. The hot sun beats down on you, and the crystal clear blue waters that seem to go on forever. There's a faint sense you should be doing something, that you have an obligation, a duty. But lost at sea like this... does such a thing like that matter? You can't remember what it was that was forgotten, merely that it was. What's the point of chasing something you cannot see, cannot hear, cannot even touch? Your stomach grumbles. Even if you do not know your destination, it hungers for purpose and needs to be fed. Beneath you, fat fish swim lazily, occasionally chased by a bigger fish, but they are mostly still. If you were to fashion a spear, you could catch some. Alternatively, on the horizon there's an island. You could scavenge there. But you do not know that place. Dangerous beasts and unfamiliar could lurk between the trees. And there, in the sky... an airship. It is chancy, but you could try to signal them for food. Of course, with trading partners in the sky come their own risks. Now, how to fill your belly?>Go spear fishing Vigilante Side Quest>Go hunt at the Island Another Hierarchical City Side Quest>Signal the airship Sector 7 Side Quest>Scew this metaphorical shit, this dream is now filled with TSUBAKITTIES! Disregard event triggers, acquire more lolis
>>38670059>Go spear fishing
>>38670059>Go hunt at the Island Another Hierarchical City Side Quest
>>38670059>Scew this metaphorical shit, this dream is now filled with TSUBAKITTIES! Disregard event triggers, acquire more lolis
>>38670059>Scew this metaphorical shit, this dream is now filled with TSUBAKITTIES! Disregard event triggers, acquire more lolisALL THE LOLIS!
>>38670059>Scew this metaphorical shit, this dream is now filled with TSUBAKITTIES!Speaking of acquiring more lolis, we should actually look into adopting Platinum. The prospect of raising Luna into a fine and refined lady who will make even the likes of the shitty vampire embarassed of their uncultured selves seems rather amusing to me.
>>38670059A dream. This is all a dream. Looking at this wide and beautiful ocean, that is more then clear. No one's seen the ocean like this for a hundred years. A day like this, free of miasma in every direction for as far as the eye can see, is something that's impossible. Just another casualty of the Dark War. Still, if this is dream, there's no point contemplating whatever strange metaphor is being presented, if that is, in fact, what is happening. You wouldn't remember upon waking anyway. So, you might as well have some fun with this, while you're here..."Nyan!" Cries out the tiny fusion of a kaka and Tsubaki, waving her arms to get your attention. There's cute little kitty ears twitching on her head, and her sleeves are too big so they flop every which way and she's just so cuuuuuuute~You can't help but scoop up the little dear and cuddle her."Nyaaaaa..." The kitty mewled, clearly not liking being picked up, but tolerating it because it's a good kitty. "Mmmm.... huh?"Out of the waters next to the raft pops another cat-eared Tsubaki, this one with a fish sticking out of it's mouth and cheeks puffed out as she chews up her food. A third one parachutes in from the sky, bright eyed and bushy tailed as she angles for your raft. "Miss Zief...?"And then another pops out of the sea. Then from behind the sail, then your sea-chest, from /inside/ your sea-chest and they just keep coming like an incredibly adorable apocalypse."Miss Zief, that's a little..."It's too cute! When you alarm goes off, you can't but feel a little disappointed. But then a a muffled voice speaks between your breasts. "G-g-good Morning Miss Alice," Greets the adorable girl there."Could you... let me go now?">Certainly>What's in it for me?>Nope, time for more snuggles->Q&A at the same time? What do you ask?
>>38670804>Nope, time for more snuggles>Evil laughter
>>38670804>Nope, time for more snuggles
>>38670817Second, Also CURSE YOU TIMEZONES! Seeya and have a good thread
....Shaderic still alive?....
>>38670804You put of a brief show of considering whether or not to let her go and then five seconds later, make your answer known to the world."Nope. Time for cuddles instead." Tsubaki has just enough time for her brain to process this, before you drag her in close for a hug while you deliver the 'ho ho ho' laugh associated with villains and Santa Claus. Instinctively, the girl shrieks before giggling madly. It's an open and honest laugh that reminds you of the tinkling of bells. From there it's a laughing, crawling, squeaking tickle fight as you and your new ward try to tickle each other and hold the other one down.Eventually, you end up facing the window, curious Tsubaki still captive to your whims as she sits in your lap while you personally relax a little, taking a break from your little match.>Ask Tsubaki a question->What?>Breakfast time!>Tao bombs!
>>38671335>Ask Tsubaki a questionWhat she wants for breakfast>Tao bombs!>Breakfast time!
>>38671319Sorry.Didn't sleep well over the course of the day and it's starting to bite me in the ass a little. I'm not giving up just yet, though!
>>38671335>>38671344i'll support this after all toa is attracted by the smell of food.
>>38671344Second and sleepy time now.....
>>38671335>Breakfast time!>Tao bombs!I'm just putting the Tao bombs vote in there because we both know that's what's going to happen if we make any sort of food anyway.
Annnnnnd shaderic is dead again.......
>>38670804It is at times like these that I'm happy I watched Bururaji and know how a tiny Kaka Tsubaki would sound.
>>38671802My apologies gentlemen, but between the lack of sleep and my own feeling like crap, I'm going to have cut it short early. It's killed my already shit-tier speed, and if I keep passing out at they keyboard, it's not fair to anyone.Fucking hell, I hate this.As usual, I'm going to try and stay awake for at least a little while to answer questions and such.Also.Tomorrow night (13th) I was planning on running another game. The two idea up for grabs were IS Mechanic Quest, a game inspired by my own hate for pilots and driving need to make a show about girls in exo-suits not suck, and Youkai Village Quest, a game where you are a human living in a village of Youkai. Shenanigans ensue. Youkai Village is straightforward enough, but Mechanic Quest may need a little further explanation. In short, you are a mechanic at the Infinite Stratos Academy. As you are a guy in his mid-twenties, this makes life very annoying. Thus begins your quest for beer, respect from asshole pilots, more beer, non-jail-bait female ass, and getting your beer back from the students who stole it. Also, the writer behind IS is a motherfucking hack with no sense of scale. That a story about a military academy for exo-suit users was rendered this dumb is something I hate the guy for.Paste from pre-written material done.Which idea do you guys want to see?
>>38672824Oh dear lord, this is actually a thing!?How have I not heard of this before?
>>38672859i think i'm up for Youkai Village Quest we already got a IS quest and i like that whole mythos.
>>38672859Well, shit, I was waiting for this all week.As for what you're running, run what you feel like the most? Both seem neat to me. Although I wouldn't say no to a catch-up session of this.
>>38672919https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7T_dGvrF4IEWatch from 18:35
>>38673053o fucking hell there go my sides again.
>>38672859Both could be interesting, though I lean more towards the Youkai one myself
>>38672859I'd rather you go with the Youkai idea.
>>38672859Thanks for running!Personally I wouldn't mind seeing some more of the Dark General Quest or some BlazBlue, of course, but like this gentleman said >>38673018, run what you feel like the most.>>38672824Tsubaki is best waifu, Asami Imai is love.
>>38673286>>38673053>>38673107Is it just me or is Imai Asami actually Sugita's waifu? He never misses a chance to tease or flirt with her in every damn Bururaji episode.
>>38673286I too hope for more Dark General in the future.
>>38672859I'd personally dig an episode 6.5, but if not that, then IS Academy sounds pretty fun. Just sitting back, sipping a beer and taking the piss out of the setting. We should really start considering self-aware autonomous weapons as a project.
