I'm about to run a Metal Gear Solid themed game for my players using a homebrew 2d6 system, and I was wondering what I should lay out for them to select fear from/how I should limit it.It's a modern game, so the weapons should reflect that. Ideally, I want them to have a choice between 2-4 primary weapons, 2-4 sidearms, and 2 or 3 specialty weapons. After that, they get a certain amount of points to spend on gear and equipment.Ideas?
>>38662709Keep the ! sound effect ready at all time for any failed rolls pertaining to stealth.
>>38662883It is on standby.

Got a story set up OP?
Weapons should probably effect where the game takes place. Mercenary outpost in Liberia is going to be equipped differently than Shadow Moses.
Do you have a link to a write up for your system?
>>38665697It's going to be loosely based off of the exact Shadow Moses events, minus the FOXDIE and all.>>38665763It's not a system I made, it's one I found a couple of years ago. Here you go.
>>38665888>It's going to be loosely based off of the exact Shadow Moses events, minus the FOXDIE and all. Will you have the same obnoxious nigh-unkillable outside of plot magic final boss?
>>38666122>Shoot rpg rounds into his cockpit>doesn't die>knock him off the Metal Gear>doesn't die>Riddle him with bullets as he chases me in a jeep>doesn't die. This nigga was complaining about inferior genes?
>>38666200>Gets in a car crash>Doesn't die>Gets killed>DOESN'T DIE>Finally dies of a combination of old-age, manly fisticuffs and NANOMACHINES on the top of Outer heavenBRROTHER Stronk.
>>38666122No. Just some rogue FOXHOUND agents to put down with some kind of vehicle based fight in there somewhere.
>>38666243That was Ocelot, not Liquid. The whole "Liquid Ocelot" thing was a ruse by Ocelot to fool the Patriots.
>>38666268But how will it be Shadow Moses without my WHINING about my INFERIOR Genes? It's like you're almost disregarding the entire concept he was trying to explore in the first game.
>>38666294He's Liquid Ocelot to me.
>>38666295It won't be Shadow Moses, I'm just using the rogue agent setup they had going in MGS1.
>>38666370So the team is going to have to fight a rouge black ops group composed of experts and crazies?Come on, tell us about them! MGS tends to have great bosses.
>>38666294Liquid lived on THROUGH THE MEMES!!!
>>38666294It's more complicated than that.Ocelot actually DID make contact with Liquid's spirit because he's the Sorrow's son. But he faked the last 'attack' at the Big Shell, and had the arm removed and replaced with the prosthetic - that's why his arm is flesh in MGS2 but plastic in MGS4.Metal Gear is a weird and wonderful place. On a related note, what system would you use for a game set in the cyborg era?
>>38669432Considering how high the power levels get there? Probably something like Mutants and Masterminds.
>>38669546I feel like M&M is a good general fit, although most Metal Gear characters tend to have a single defining 'trick' as opposed to a wide array of powers.I'm a big fan of the Marvel Universe RPG but mundane characters can be a bit same-y in that system.
>not playing a campaign as liquid>not starting off as a rookie FOXHOUND agent>not rising up to the top and discovering the conspiracy>not having the meat of the campaign being preparing for and recruiting for shadow moses>not reading "American Journal of Inaccurate Genetics: Volume 19"
>>38669836I had a huge write-up for a suitably CUHRAZY Metal Gear campaign at one point on /m/ - never got around to using it, sadly. The core point was that it turned out there was an AI installed on a complex on the Moon called Daisy Bell and it was protecting humanity from something in space (implied to be vampires, as a Boktai joke/reference), but a PMC/cabal/secret terrorist group had found out about it and was using it to subvert powerful new unmanned gears, so the AI had gathered a group of special operatives with attitude to fight against them using an advanced nuclear submarine with technology taken from Arsenal Gear, commanded by two guys who TOTALLY WEREN'T just the commander and Tessa from Full Metal Panic.
>>38662709http://world.guns.ru/grenade/rus/gm-94-e.htmlhttp://world.guns.ru/machine/rus/kord-e.htmlhttp://world.guns.ru/shotgun/rus/ks-23-e.htmlAny of these seem like good candidates for a boss fight.
>>38670008but anon those are weapons not bosses
>>38672322Bosses aren't allowed to use multiple weapons. That's strictly a player ability.
Is there a decent time and place hardly influenced by the direct actions of characters in the MGS universe, yet available to play as characters acquainted or perhaps employed by those characters? Can anyone impart some good story material I could possibly use in a MGS game of my own?I'm happy to see that MGS is receiving a lot of attention lately on /tg/. I've always thought it would be awesome to run one.
>>38672715A game during/after Peace Walker could work. During the game you can send off a bunch of the recruits/stockholm soldiers off to fight in off-screen battles, and you get rewards.Just ignore Mother Base and MSF being ganked, and you have yourself a setting ripe for a proto-PMC to e sent anywhere.
Make sure to have some subtle, silly things ready because those are what make mgs the way it is
>>38672855I was hoping you wouldn't say Peace Walker. I went to buy it and ended up buying some expansion (I'm retarded, I know). I've really been slothful about getting thost psp versions.I've only played 1 through 4, MGSR, and am now currently playing 5. Just barely got it, actually.Could an individual or a pmc party possible get tangled up with supernatural forces, awesome as fuck boss fights and giant mechanical gadgets that would change how wars are fought? I can't think of anything as awesome as fighting a metal gear, and I think that's alright and to be expected. What if I start with something like a company manufacturing early forms of gekkos that they will use to march on a nation's capital and launch a coup against the government forces? Is there a better plot than this? Would it be funner if Gekkos were manned or unmanned?I actually feel that I'm completely in the dark about MGS fluff since I haven't played those couple games.
>>38673054Well, to sum up Peace Walker; Naked Snake/Jack/John/Big Boss gets over the Boss by the end, stops a proto-version of an automated metal gear, makes his own (yes, you make a Metal Gear for yourself, ZEKE, which you can send into the missions to fight for you. No playing AS it, though.) meets Otacon's dad, and when you reach the ending, formally changes their bass name to outer Heaven, starting his change to what he was in Metal Gear (Nes). PMC's could definently get into supernatural stuff. Most of the ones we see work for armies because the army is actively trying to grab them for themselves. Metal Gear!Acid, while non-canon as fuck, is a good take on Mercs with supernatural stuff, and how they would operate in the world. Just read soem wiki stuff on it, and don't bother with trying to play/watch it.Since MGS5 has those weird mini-chicken walker/geckos things you can use, then I can definently some company trying to mass produce those. If it's set before 2000, metal gear-verse time, then any Ai controlled thing would be huge, because that shit was experimental. But hey, go ahead and experiment! A merc group, outfitted with tech from some weapons manufacturer, pulling a coup? Hell the fuck yes. Using some big robot that can launch a nuke? More so. Maybe base it off the model used in the NES games, to fit the time period. Foxhoundm any time after MGS3 (they're officially made during Portable Ops for the PSP, but you don't need to know about that game, I own it and it's Meh. Long story short, Fox unit rebels and tries to take over a missle base, gray fox's backstory becomes more confusing, you meet Col Campbell, destroy a flying metal gear, some scientist with psychic powers, and comic style cutscenes) would either work under Big Boss, or after he pulls his take over the world stunt, so you could have people with powers, or just Ye Olde Normal Badass, being sent around to stomp people in the name of Murrica, and so on.
>>38672855This would probably work best, with minimal impact on the established lore, as long you can accept that even if the PCs excel at everything, they will still die in the XOF invasion of Mother Base.
>>38674009Quite true. So you can mess around with anything, and have them winning all the contracts... then have the final session be a glorious last stand against the XOF assault.
Anyone else prefer when MGS was about a hard as nails soldier fighting people with weird powers, instead of NANOMACHINES EVERYWHERE. For example, Vamp was awesome when he was just a random vampire out of nowhere. Not so awesome when he was nanomachines.
>>38674050I don't have the heart to do that to them.>>38674053Yes and no. I liked Vamp being explained as nanomachines, but MGS4 took it all way too far aside from him.
>>38662709Go full vidya and make them find/unlock gear instead.
>>38674053The Sorrow didn't get fluffed away as nanos, did he? I think he's the only one that still has supernatural powers.
>>38674180I'll admit I'm not entirely up to date with the series but I can't imagine Raven being nanomachines without completely undermining his character.
>>38674053nanomachines were alright when they weren't the Hashirama Cells/Plot Device juice for everything. MGS1 mentioned them, but their effects weren't overbearing. Except for FOX......DIE.I figure, 1 person having amazing nanomachines is alright. For regeneration, at least. Running up walls and shit, I kinda wished he WAS a vampire. Hell, if they made nanomacheens that ran off blod but could give you a bunch of powerful shit it would at least be the sort of stupid/funny MGS is about. >>38674180I'd hope they never make nanomacheens for that. it's be like those shitty movies, The Pulse, I think? Where some nerds made a new Wi-Fi and discovered the dead on it.
>>38674280Or Mantis. MGS needs inexplicable shit. As an aside, anyone here read Foundation by Asimov? I preferred the Mule when he was a random interference in the plan coming from nowhere.
>>38674427I'd say Mantis, Decoy, Vulcan, and the Sorrow should be the ones with truly supernatural abilities.Maybe Volgin.
>>38674413>but their effects weren't overbearing. They are able to prevent Snake from drawing a weapon. Somehow.Narratively it makes sense by GotP for Nanomachines to be either the cause of or in control of powers because the Patriots are all about control, and are doing their best to wipe out actual supernatural stuff.>>38675228I'd say it's okay to hint at it in other characters as well, as with Fortune. Also, OP, you should totally have Chinaman and Old Boy show up.
>>38674413Nanomachines being amazing things were only really a thing in MGS4 and it's very easy to wave away that game - It was a classic Kojima trolling that hand-waved everyone's powers forever with nanomachines that didn't exist all the time. That being said the entirety of characters from MGS3 shouldn't have nanomachines, as they hadn't really been invented yet, and most of the MGS1 characters only have Nanomachines if they were retconned to have any - FOXDIE was the most advanced nanomachines they were supposed to have at the time, and they were in Snake.MGS2's villains were mostly artificial so I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise that Vamp was artificial too - Fatman was just a dude in a bomb suit with roller skates, Fortune had a magnetic shield (OR DID SHE), and Vamp was Vamp.
>>38675305>Fatman>just a dudeI BEG TO DIFFER, SIR.
>>38675228Did they ever get into why Volgin had electric powers? Like was he hit by a lightning bolt or something?
>>38675381>Like was he hit by a lightning bolt or something?I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happened. Or his mom was hit by a lightning bolt when she was pregnant with him. Or giving birth to him. Or maybe a lightning bolt hit Major Raikov's uniform and he raped it. Something wacky like that.
>>38675381The wiki states it was the result of a physical anomaly that allowed hin to generate up to 10mil volts of electricity. He wears the rubberized suit to protect himself while fully charging up.
>>38675491Then was it a lightning bolt that finally killed him? I remember a lightning bolt in there somewhere.
>>38675520Yes, he was struck by lightning while wearing belts of ammunition, which began to go off and catch fire and he burned to death.
I don't know how the series can get anymore crazy after Senator Armstrong. Seeing that investing funds into nanotech and individuals is more efficient than mechs will be obvious to the entire world. Where will the war economy go from here? Fucker went toe to toe with Metal Gear Excelsior.
>>38675740Superhuman based war economy?Something like Tiger and Bunny but instead of corporate shilling they're sponsored by PMCs.
>>38675491>Physical anomaly. So he can just shoot lightning because he's a mutant? Why don't we see more physical anomaly mutants? I want more mutants!
>>38675740>where will the series go from hereHopefully nowhere. I really hope that MGS4 was the furthest the series proper intends to go in the timeline. If they wanna keep doing MGS games, I am hoping for WW2 games with the Cobra Unit or filling in Solid Snake's younger years.
>>38675782I'm hoping they do a remake of the originals from the nes era.
>>38674427>I preferred the Mule when he was a random interference in the plan coming from nowhere. In which book do they throw that out?Either I missed something or it's in one of the fanfics other authors have been writing.
>>38675782>WW2 with the Cobra UnitI want this so goddamn bad. Play through most of the game as The Joy and switch over to using other members. It would kick ass to play as The End. And imagine The Pain's inventory screen: HORNET HORNET HORNET HORNET FRAG GRENADE HORNET RATION
>>38675740>Where will the war economy go from here?>mfw mystic cyborg nanomachine ninja alien warriors when, Kojima-san?
>>38675892>>38675905Both of these, 100x. With an INCREDIBLE amount of luck, MGSV will end with a shortened run of MG1, with boot-ass Solid Snake infiltrating Outer Heaven.
>>38675340He was the greatest humanity had to offer.
>>38672715Either the years between MGS1 and 2, when REX was first starting to proliferate, or the MGS4 era - yeah, eventually SOP gets taken down by the protags, but the War Economy lasts quite a while and you have the shift from huge tactical nuke platforms like the REX knock-offs to the smaller-scale Gekkos and Tripods.Either of those has lots of breathing room.
>>38674053Vamp wasn't JUST nanomachines. He actually did have a natural regeneration factor, that weird hypnosis thing he could do, and he was always a wizard with knives (aided by the fact that he's damned near unkillable even pre-nanos)Naomi's nanomachines just jacked his healing factor from 'Action Movie' to 'Hugh Jackman'The only guy whose powers are all Nanomacheens, all the time is Armstrong, who is literally like 75% nanomachines and 25% a power-plant for those nanomachines.
>>38675939Alright, Senator Armstrong in power armor I'm guessing that's as crazy as it gets.
>>38675740>Where will the war economy go from here?It turns out space is full of robot vampires.
>>38676066I just realized what a cool weapon for MGR2 would be: a set of knuckle dusters infused with the soul of Armstrong (like that japan-only Solid Snake bokken that no one else got because Kiefer Sutherland is too expensive for a joke and Kojima wouldn't hire David Hayter for a joke with the character he's voiced for years because a dude who isn't solid snake got a new voice actor). A)It's a fucking pun (Armstrong fists), and B)we get to hear insane right-wing rantings with every kill.
>>38675293And now that they're gone that supernatural mystic bullshit is making a comeback, as show by Sam being able to match a custom cyborg like Raiden and cutting off Armstrong by just being that good and having a body suit? That stuff about how the quality of a vibroweapon being dependent on the quality of blade it was before the treatment? I think it was foreshadowing where the setting is going. Natural supernatural bullshit augmented by technology. Science working with the mysticism, instead of suppressing it like The Patriots tried to do.
>>38676131>insane right-wing rantings with every killI would buy the game just for this.
Soooo.....what system is this being run with? I want to propose it to a couple of MGS junkies I play with.
>>38676287>Get up, you beltweight pansy!>Break this little shit in two!>We'll make this battle GREAT AGAIN!
http://www.doctorshrugs.com/foxhound/comic.php?id=1I'll just leave this classic here
>>38676460...those are terrible.
How would you run a mgs game? Shit loads of spot checks before moving? Maps and figurines or pure description? Also, are all the soldiers and fodder just going to be retarded compared to the players? How do you describe amazing feats of stealth and skill when the dice dictate them (and not knowing shit about stealth irl)? How do you know when to stop sending reinforcements if the characters are just badass enough to kill the entire base?
I would say a metal gear is more about emulating the setting rather than just doing a one for one imitation of a video game, which a tabletop would suck at anyway.Do your players want to run their own PMC in a world gone mad? Go for it. Do your players want to be the chief ministers of a minor nation surrounded by organisations with different purposes for your resources? Go for it. Your players want to run a Spec ops the line campaign, but crazier? go for it
Anybody got good ideas for boss battles? Maybe some kind of crazy knife-fighter hoped up on super-drugs that make his aim utter shit and his arm jittery but he's super fast and strong and fights with Freddy Krueger gloves. Ambushes the party in a series of empty hallways with the lights on the blink (hard mode-total darkness). The guy either has freaky eyes that can see in the dark or uses nightvision goggles. The party has to fight back using light against his darkness. He can be blinded/stunned by light from flash bangs and getting the electricity back on in certain rooms. The idea is that the party has to avoid being ambushed and when they spot him they got to shoot at him enough so that he scurries away back into the shadows before he can close the gap. Rapid-fire weapons are ideal, not shotguns or pistols. What you guys think?
>>38676818OP here and I'm totally stealing it. That sounds pretty good. It's straightforward enough for them to figure it out, but still big enough to be engaging. What else ya got?
>>38674053>Hey, when technology starts to test the limits of our imagination, what's the difference?
>>38676842CODE NAME: SICKLE WEASEL Hmmmm. Personality wise it might be tempting to make him a RIP AND TEAR psycho, but MGS usually likes to inject a little pathos into the bosses. I say make him an old black ops vet. Maybe even Vietnam old. Maybe he used to be one of those guys that had to chase Charlie down into those tunnels, so he learned how to be real quick and real good in hand to hand.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%E1%BB%A7_Chi_tunnelsSounds like something that would be referenced in an MGS game. But the guy gets older. He's no longer needed. He can't keep up on the black ops team. They cut him loose and he ends up living on the streets (shades of First Blood). So along come these guys that tell him they can make him great again. They can make him a soldier again. They can make him a hero again. He just has to take these shots twice a day...I'd make him start out the fight very professional and calm. Even give the party a call on the codec to let them know that he'll be their executioner for the evening and ask them how they would like their bodies treated. He starts the fight off being very sneaky and only occasionally trying to rush the party. Any traps the party places for him will likely be spotted and disabled. But as he takes damage and takes more of the drug he becomes faster but more unhinged. He'll stop trying to sneak up on the party and just rush at them from in and out of the shadows as the fight takes on a faster tempo (this will be the part where the bass of the fight music drops like in Revengence). He might even start to give away his position by taunting the party or muttering to himself. He dies muttering "not this way...not like an animal..." and the party can take his night vision/claw gloves/leftover super drugs.
>>38676818I've thought on this a few times, and frankly I think it's better to start with the concept and try and make an interesting boss fight from it than vice versa, I think it's truer to the feel on the source material.I came up with a dude who would be "Grenade Flamingo", a flamboyant man 'who always colour coordinates', and attacks by fucking shitting grenades everywhere, with particular preference for incendiaries. What's his gimmick you ask? He's a stiltwalker, and between the distance from the blast gained by his alloy stilts and a bit of heavy plating around the groin he's all but immune to his own grenades. He's also surprisingly stealthy because while he doesn't outright use octocamo, his clothes always match his environment and his actually body is well above the default sightline of a regular soldier.Fun places to fight him:- Industrial works where his poles blend in with the surrounding pipes while he's still, and his grenades are devastating. Also lots of tactics you could use like evading him by crawling etc.- A motherfucking bamboo forest
>>38676842>>38677135Will try to think of more things. Work brain, work!
>>38677165Oh, and his obligatory spouting philosophy mode would be about how he was brought up as comfort boy for some mercenary leader but despite all the shit he went through he's still happy that he was at least given a chance to rise above the suffering masses, and how people give him false sympathy and assume that being outside the norm is a horrible place, when in fact escaping the life he might have led was utter salvation. Something something this is why the status quo must be destroyed.
>>38677165>Hey Bob, the big evil boss said he's sending Grenade Flamingo to teach us a lesson.>Well he doesn't sound like a very subtle fellow. It should be easy to see him coming. Hey, what are you looking at John?>...Nothing. I just thought I saw one of those bamboo trees move>Well yeah, it's windy out here.>No I mean...MOVE move.>Suddenly grenades from the skyAt first I was like "Nah" but then I was like "YES!".Give him some acrobatics and circus skills so that if the team ever incapacitates his stilts or they get stuck on something he can detach, swing away, and get on another pair he has hidden around the battlefield.Which could be a fun "trick" to him. If you find his stilts you can booby trap them to fuck with him when he switches out.
>>38677311>Is the only one on the merc team that smiles>Dies laughing and saying he's lived a good life. Because he always did what he wanted no matter what.>Tells the party to live life as they want to before he explodes.I didn't ask for these feels...
>>38677399Oh man I hadn't actually thought out the context that far. Damn those feels. Wouldn't be MGS without them though.
Can you imagine a WW2 Cobra Unit game? Storming Normandy and having to see The Boss' C-Section in glorious Fox Engine?
>>38679427>minigame to survive giving birth alone on the battlefield.
Mystic Sparrow; tech specialist with a flair for the theatrical. Uses various prototype devices and a lot of battleground prepwork to try and pass herself off as a supernatural operative. All intel availible on her backs up this deception, and it's only as the fight goes on that the team realizes they're dealing with a Wizard of Oz situation. When they finally do notice the woman behind the curtain, she starts monologuing about being the only mundane child from a family of low-level psychics and how she just wanted the world to think she was special too.
>>38681246>raised in a family where everyone knows what you're thinking all the time.>But you don't know what anyone is thinking. All the time.Jesus that's some legit pathos there.

>>38674053>>38674180>>38674280>>38674427>>38675228As far as I'm aware the legit super powers (that is, not nanomachines or cybernetics) are:Psychokinesis>Psycho Mantis>Screaming Mantis (she did have actual telekinesis, even if only after nanomachines were used to implement Psycho's psyche into her)Spiritual powers>The Sorrow>Vulcan Raven>Ocelot (when he briefly made contact with Liquid's spirit)>The End (if his mumbling about the spirits of the forest is legit and not just the mumblings of a mad old man)Experimentation/surgery>The Pain>The Fear>Decoy OctopusMutants/innate powers (unconfirmed though)>Volgin (assuming he didn't get hit by magic lightning)>The End (aside from the spirits of the forest thing, he has unnaturally long life, can photosynthesise and does that weird eye bulge thing)>Vamp (later enhanced by nanomachines)I don't think I'm forgetting anyone. I don't think any of the MG1/MG2 bosses had super powers, they were just incredibly skilled and one or two had cybernetics.
>>38683051>Lancer RaptorA former test pilot who joined the Air Force out of boredom and just as quickly left out of boredom. He carries no weapons in combat, but he wears an armored exoskeleton with rocket boosters strapped to the limbs; combined with his own superhuman reflexes and endurance, this allows him to navigate the battlefield at extreme speed and turn his own body into a deadly kinetic missile.
>>38682964>Volt YetiGimme a hug!
>>38683270I dunno, we already have a "fast thing coming at you wat do" battle in Sickle WeaselWe need to think of these as video game battles.Sickle Weasel is about reacting cast enough. Grenade Flamingo is about perceiving fast enough (is that a tree or a stilt? If we spent too much time looking up he's liable to just move about on the ground!)Magic Sparrow...I'm not sure about her. She seems to be the token Psycho Mantis fight with the twist being she's really Mysterio. Maybe have the environment totally fucking rigged. Hallucinogenic gass. Holograms. Mirrors. Smoke. Think of it as a war against a funhouse. And go full I NEED SCISSORS 61 as everyone starts to trip balls. All MGS games need a big forth wall breaker moment.Maybe have her quip during the battle that everything is really just a game for her and that she's the "level designer" of this fight.
>>38683414>For her>Not for the PCs/Players who don't even stop to consider who they're leaving behind
>>38683414Sparrow seems to me almost like it should draw from The Stanley Parable as much as Metal Gear Solid.>Are you still following those waypoint indicators? They're not going where you think they're going.>You do think about where they're going, don't you? Or do you just assume when you see that little blue diamond that there's an answer already waiting there for you?
>>38683814I like that. Psycho Mantis + X-Men's Arcade + Mysterio + Glados.
>>38683814She uses psychology to compensate for not having real magic. If you want to really fuck with the players have it so that the first Sparrow they kill isn't the real Sparrow--it's a hypnotized stooge (hypnotized by MEMES AND VR TRAINING!). And have them think she really is magic until the very, very end where she gives her death spiel. And even then make the players paranoid until the end of the game itself. Did they kill the real Sparrow this time? Maybe have some of her traps and recordings still go off even after she's died. I SHALL LIVE ON AS A REPLICATING IDEA OF PARANOIA! I SHALL LIVE ON AS A MEME! MY FINAL, ULTMATE ILLUSION!AND YOU'LL NEVER KNOW IF I'M ALIVE OR NOT. YOU'LL NEVER KNOW...UNLIKE MY FAMILY, WHO ALWAYS KNEW WHAT I WAS THINKING...
>>38683414>Maybe have the environment totally fucking rigged. That's pretty much what I had in mind when I came up with her. Also;Ebony Condor, enemy team's sniper, with a talent for spotting and firing at targets with almost superhuman speed; unlike most snipers, he seems to find the idea of concealing himself unneeded, prefering to make his postion as visible as possible, in the hopes of baiting the team in to advancing towards him through a killing field he'll have chosen for having minimal availible cover, while he taunts them in to trying to take a shot at him with smacktalk from a megaphone and even improvised dance routines.
>>38684095>Another MGS sniper>Ohhhhhhh.....>Smacktalk through megaphone and dance routinesOkay, NOW I'm on board!
>>38683942>You... you didn't think that was a military aircraft, did you?
>>38682911The End Boss has promised a true end to the practices of child soldiers and slavery in his new utopia, so no one need ever go through what Flamingo did ever again?
>>38684350That'll work!I like the idea of the end boss being a real cynical asshole. He promises everything to anyone that'll fight for him. He just wants raw power over everything and thinks that he can leave the actual policy making to future generations once he has a stable one world government.
>>38683942>She uses psychologyIf the baddies know the team is coming, she'll have prepared extensive profiles on all them. Condor will also have skimmed through those files so he can talk shit with maximum effectiveness, bringing up everything from past failed missions to sore points in relationships with friends and families.
Need ideas for reason to infiltrate facility, types of weapons produced, and bbeg goals. Need to know who and what organization would be hiring the players whether it be Cobra, Fox, Foxhound, or Militaires sans Frontiers. I think the employer would dictate the time age and tech level.
>>38687179>Need ideas for reason to infiltrate facilityKeep in mind whatever reason they were told they were going into the facility for, that's not the real reason. They are pawns being used for a more nefarious reason.MGS is all about MUH TWISTS.
>>38684095>>38684712I couldn't come up with any pathos for Condor right off the bat, but having had some time I thought of something; His antics and antagonistic attitude are a cover for a severe deathwish developed after a long carrer of blackops political assassinations and a loss of faith in the idea of soldiers as heroes.Out of the entire team, he's the only one to really realize how full of shit End Boss is, but ultimately doesn't care, just hoping he can finally go out in some spectacularly pointless blaze of glory.>Feeling good, heroes? Do you really think that if we all just turned around and walked away right now, anyone would really care?
>>38687440That will be the hardest part, then. I had already written a couple scenarios up, but I lack the creative power for plot twists common for MGS. I figured such conspiracies would be involved at the highest authorities of the government super powers (usually involving the big boys, like Solid Snake and Big Boss) and being employed by one of the mercenary groups would buffer the conspiracies from the players.
>>38687592You're pretty good at this.
>>38687637Work out the real reason first. Sort all that out then come up with a cover story. Pretty much anything can be used to get them in there in the first place, hostages, retrieving data, assassinations etc. It's the real reason that will blow their collective minds.Have them sent in to, at least in part, rescue an old comrade of one of the group, maybe an over the hill mentor turned gov't advisor. Have him or her be in on it, whatever it is.
>>38687637Alright, here's a plot point to use. At one point, the villains are planning to destroy a facility with C4. There's no time to prevent their plan - so instead, the team's plan is to wreck the place up EVEN WORSE, so that they deny the enemy whatever it was they were hoping to extract with the controlled demolition.
>>38687637Just make End Boss (can that be his real name?) a super cynical asshole trying to cash in on the legacy of Big Boss. He ostensibly wants to make Outer Heaven 2.0. in some war torn cover of the world, but that's just the smokescreen to recruit people to his side. The guy used to work as a political speechwriter and marketing exec. He knows how to blind people with rhetoric. His big secret is that he's a legit psychic. He used his powers to manipulate everyone on team evil, especially Sparrow who dies never knowing this unless you're the type of GM that will allow non lethal tranq takedowns of bosses. He actually blocked Sparrow from developing her late-blooming psychic talents because he didn't want anyone reading his mind. His plan is to start farming psychic talent in (insert country with Outer Heaven 2.0 here) and use that as leverage against the Patriots who rely on nanomachines and not paranormal talents. He doesn't want to fight the Patriots, just survive them. He's totally self interested.
>>38687839>>38687840Combine both of these. The enemy is going to destroy a facility, the old comrade is in there. You have to get in, retrieve data and slag the computers so they can't access it AND rescue the comrade and get out.BUT the comrade set up the whole thing, is the boss of or second in command of the terrorist group and wanted the merc PC team to infiltrate for some reason.Bonus points if the BBEG/comrade's plan was for the PCs to win all along, allowing him to take higher control of the remains of the terror group on the outside of the facility.
>>38687875>End Boss (can that be his real name?)It fucking has to be, that's what I have been calling him in my head the whole thread. Its the perfect name
>>38687899I like the idea of the guy cynically cashing in on the Big Boss legacy. Maybe he even has the balls to wear an eye patch. Perfect way to make the PCs hate him. Also a fun way to expand the MEMES! He represents memes as marketing and commercialism. He's Big Boss as a brand name--all the rhetoric and looks but none of the heart or legitimate care for soldiers.Calls himself "End Boss" because he claims to be the perfect culmination of Big Boss's ideals.
>>38687761Really, this shit's just a lot less complicated than coming up with NPCs for most other settings. All you need is a combat-role, a good gimmick and a bit of backstory that sticks to a general central theme. As for how the fight plays out, I kind of figure it could take advantage of the fact that it's a team of PCs rather than just one protagonist; Condor can hit pretty much anyone that sticks their heads out long enough to aim at him, but he can't very well shoot in two directions at once, so the trick is to have some teammembers willing to take the risk of baiting him so others can get a clean shot, all while he continues to talk nonstop smack.>Aww yeah, teamwork, that's the ticket heroes! Hey pointman, does the rest of the team know what you did to those kids in Libya? God damn, and I thought I was a monster.
>>38687179Time period sometime between Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear Solid 1. Players are government agents (mostly FOXHOUND, maybe some members of other units), under the command of Miller or a subordinate of his (maybe one of the FOXHOUND members from MG1/MG2 who were never mentioned again?)They've been sent to infiltrate a facility in the Andes Mountains: a high tech modern facility, built in and around an old Inca ruin. The facility has been set up by a terrorist group made up of mercenaries, former special ops, Outer Heaven survivors, that sort of thing. The facility is a chemical and biological engineering facility. Turns out some Inca holy men had, in their alchemical experiments, stumbled across several legitimate chemical formulas and created some very potent serums, one of which is basically a mix of steroids and an incredibly potent combat high: whoever takes it becomes stronger, faster, fearless and willing to tear apart whatever they're pointed at. End Boss and his crew are going to mass produce this shit and use it, alongside other drugs and ancient Inca bull shit, to make an army of doped up super soldiers. The players have been sent in to put a halt to End Boss' drug production and keep the world safe.THE BIG TWISTIt becomes clear to the players that the government don't actually want them to destroy the serums, they just want them for themselves.THE KOJIMA TWISTIt later becomes even clearer to the players that the government already has many of these serums, and has quite likely been giving diluted forms of them to the players for a long time now. The real reason the players are there is to destroy the serums so no one else can get them, keeping the government at an advantage.
>>38687986>The team has to decide who runs interference, and their judgement might be impaired by what Condor says--some things are true and some things are lies, but who can tell in the heat of battle?I dig this boss battle. It's something that really works for team MGS.>>38687875>>38687967Being a SURPRISE PSYCHIC can also be tons of fun in the Senator Armstrong tradition. The team blows up his Metal Gear and he walks out and the party things they've won. Certainly this Big Boss poseur can't fight them! Then suddenly DON'T FUCK WITH THIS MASTERMIND and TELEPATHY SON and he's snatching guns out of the players' hands and TK'ing pieces of the downed metal gear at them. Also, ghost of Magic Sparrow shows up to assist the part in some small way.
This is the only time I have EVER seen a successful Metal Gear thread on /tg/.
>>38688194Go on /tg/ more then. Like all sane people, /tg/ likes Metal Gear. Also, like all boards, Metal Gear is relevant to /tg/.
>>38688082>End Boss wants to use the serum to make psychic test tube babies as leverage against the Patriot's nanomachines. Hard to control people's bodies with nanomachines when they're mind is being hacked by a psychic at the same time.>Sickle Weasel uses an extremely potent and unstable variation to give himself super speed and the shakes.>End Boss has been secretly slipping Magic Sparrow drugs to prevent her psychic powers from developing>End Boss is creating psychic child soldiers even though he promises Grenade Flamingo a world without child soldiers>Ebony Condor figured all this stuff out a long time ago but doesn't give two shits.End Boss is kind of a prick...

>>38688292I'm kind of reaching here, but I'll give it one more shot;Nightsky Dove, brick-shithouse heavy; former army MP who moved in to private security work. Fights using a riot shield and smg, heavy body aromur and some crude cybernetics that all make her a bitch and a half to put down.Has signed on with End Boss out of a sincire belief that his utopia will be one of rigid order and control that will see all crime and social strife eliminated.
>>38688270>>38688664>Sparrow>Condor>Flamingo>Dove>Weasel is the odd one outWEASEL... HAD A HARD LIFE
>>38688664I like it! We needed a heavy, and she brings cybernetics to the table. I like the idea of a riot gear boss. Could be like Ebony Condor in that it takes team tactics to beat her. Her shield and armor are godly and if she manages to divide up the team (maybe give her a grenade launcher that shoots stuff like nerve gas? Don't want to steal Grenade Flamingo's theme though) they're dead. The trick to beating her is to flank her while she attacks. Most attacks get soaked up by her armor and cybernetics, but a few well placed shots at certain areas can cause her cybernetics to malfunction.
>>38688952Weasel creator here, not a bad idea if we want to keep everyone bird themed! Makes sense based on him fighting in the dark.
>>38688902Basically if the team has a sniper character this will be his place to shine, this or the Ebony Condor fight if he wants to go sniper vs sniper.
>>38688902FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-I got so much shit to do but I gotta drawfag this team.Fuck all of you /tg/, fuck you.
>>38688330>End Boss starts talking about how he sacrifices his troops just like the Incans sacrificed people to the gods>But isn't that the Mayans?>End boss is as consumed about Mesoamerican mythology as Liquid was about genetics.
>>38688099>>38688384>>38688270>>38688082Okay so, I was going to say that a logical outcome/way of twining these together is that the players have actually been psychics the whole time as a result of their low level drug infusions. It's granted them superior squad coordination (OOC chatter), and the ability to assimilate other psychic abilities. (This requires a bit of setting addition from this point but you could say all the henchman have really minor powers, IE slaying Condor gets them all a minor reflexes bonus, Weasel gives them a small speed bonus, Flamingo they get a minor stealth bonus, Sparrow gives them an intelligence bonus or for PLOT maybe something better than normal).End Boss makes the point, while his telekinetic MONOLOGUES NOW SHHHH shield is up, that if they got this powerful just from killing a team of weak artificial psychics and one with heavily suppressed potential, think how powerful they'll get if they kill him. And then ask yourselves, will your masters still let you live after you inherit the fully realised powers I hold? Do you think they'll be happy to risk having 5 more of me running around? I started this war because the Patriots fear what they can't control, and I've made the necessary preparations. I have an army to lead, to guard me from the Patriot's fangs while I sleep. But what about you? End this farce, we both know there's no future for all of you if you stay on this path.
>>38688826To be fair, I came up with Sparrow more or less at random, and Condor was partly an in-joke to myself about the guy who got put on overwatch duty in the movie Jason X. By the time I got to Dove I just decided to stick to the theme.

>>38688664>>38688902What level of cybernetics are we talking here? Gray Fox's exosuit was ground breaking, remember. Before him there was just that one cyborg/exoskeleton guy from MG2 and Big Boss' robot arm.I think they should be very clunky, slow, heavy duty cybernetics. Very tough and armour plated though.MGS also has plenty of characters who regret their cybernetics and losing their humanity. I think Dove should be very pleased about hers: they're predictable, reliable, slow and orderly. Just how she likes things.
>>38689145As cool as bosses are one must remember that the team is going to spend more time interacting with CODEC characters. We need a Campbell leader type, a weapon specialist, an inside man that has dirt on the situation and the boss characters, and a "save game" psychological support character.Maybe also a doctor? Wounds will probably be more important here than in the vidya games because you're running a squad. Hurt people will slow the entire group down.

>>38662709I'd suggest grouping weapons into rough categories rather than trying to assign specific makes or models, especially if you're using a relatively rules-light 2d6 homebrew. I'd suggest each weapon category be something like:Primary weapons might include "assault rifle", "machine gun", "SMG", "marksman rifle", etc.Sidearm categories might include suppressed pistols, heavy pistols, tasers, and close combat weapons (knives, etc.).Specialties might be the broadest equipment category - this could range for anything from grenades of various types, radio interception/jamming equipment, optical camouflage, attachments for weapons, grapple guns, etc. etc.
>>38689240Leader-Young up and coming general of the PMC. Was put in charge ostensibly because the mission is a long shot no one else wanted to touch. Worked his way up from nothing because he's smooth as jazz and knows how to build any weapon he sells. Secretly regrets selling weapons although he says he was only providing a "necessary service". Compassionate, but feels that realistically none of her patients a the other end of the CODEC are making it out alive.
>>38689269>>38689276Ok, so I don't have reference pics but I'll try to be as descriptive as possible. The team is called Shadow Vipers, a sub-dept. of FOXHOUND which only the higher ups know is a breeding program for psychic abilitues. The PCs are unaware. So there are 2 heavy armored characters (1 male, 1 female), 2 scout types (1 male, 1 female), and 1 assault type (male).Male Heavy: Manic RhinoCarries an M500 shotgun, a 1911 pistol, frag grenades, and landmines.Female Heavy: River CrocHolds an M249 with a red dot and bipod, 1911, ammo packs, and the 249 has an underbarrel grenade launcher with smoke grenades.Male Scout: Rifle RavenUses an M14 with scope and suppressor, 1911, a ballcap over his skullmask, and C4 charges with detonator.Female Scout: Creeping WolfM4A1 with sight and suppressor, 1911, Medkit, and Knockout Gas Mines.Male Assault:M4A1 with underbarrel frag grenades, 1911 with suppressor, C4 charges, Smoke Grenades. They all wear appropriate body armor for their "class", and have those face masks from Peace Walker. The wear plate carriers and such as well. If someone seriously draws all of this up, I will forever be in debt to you.
>>38689525Male Assault's codename is Mag Man, by the way, I totally skipped it.
>>38689556>Mag Man>Mag MANMAN IS NOT AN ANIMAL!
>>38689441Another approach might be if you're approaching this from a mission based format to assign equipment based on the mission at hand, or give the PCs a budget to equip themselves. For an MGS style game, I think you can roughly break down weapons along four major lines - how noisy/quiet the weapon is, the amount of lead it can throw in the air, the range, and how lethal/nonlethal the weapon is. Rather than try to simulate in exacting detail the differences between an M16 and an AK, you might instead want to focus on general categories that cover the niches. For equipment, the major categories are things that offer passive stealth (camouflage), active misdirection (something that creates a distraction), augments combat performance (body armour), or bypasses an obstacle and/or enables different movement (anything from wire cutters to lockpicks to a grapple gun).

Recap. Please edit if I forgot anything.Enemies: Sickle Weasel/Owl - Vietnam vet with a hard-on for Nightmare on Elmstreet methods of murder. Also a crazy fucker that uses a good amount of drugs to make him a more, efficient crazy fucker.Grenade Flamingo - Uses copious amounts of grenades to attack and stilts that I imagine to be incredibally long power-risers. Child soldier that wants to rid the world of the act of making children into soldiers.Mystic Sparrow - Wizard of Oz type fighter. Lays traps and usage of personal information to make players fall into traps made just for them. Suppressed psychic abilities due to Ring Leader End Boss. Has a sense of humor one would call, "spastic".Ebony Condor - Think Mr. T sniper with an addiction to disco and electro music. Taunts victims with song, dance, and bullets.End Boss - Looks like Big Boss, but only to appeal to the charisma the original invokes. Actually a powerful psychic using telepathy and telekinesis to control almost every aspect of his war. Extremely selfish, seriously wants to rule the world.Nightsky Dove - Bionic, female Ivan Drago with heavy strength riot shield. >>38691524You know, I was honestly conflicted when I decided to make Dove female because while I wanted more than one female boss, I also didn't want things to take a hard left in to Magical Realm territory. Is it alright if I emulate the character of the governor from walking dead to make the personality for End Boss?
Just need to clear up a couple things.Who employed End Boss to the original task of creating or supervising the superman serum? Where did the base come from? Was it made for the purpose of product development? What are the End Boss's demands and how does he expect to act on his plans of world domination? Just with psychics?
>>38692465I was thinking he could have been the head of the military division that set-up the base to harvest the compound from the ruins. The different bosses were high-rank soldiers put in charge to guard the facility, and End-Boss spent the off hours recruiting them to his cause. After several months of pumping it out from the ancient Incan underground storage vaults, once they had enough of the stuff on-hand he enacted his plan, used his psychic powers to take control of the regular guards, and let the different bosses roam free on the base. Perhaps he even could "lend" them portions of his own powers so they could psychically issue orders to the mooks in the facility.
I don't want this thread to die ;_;
>>386924651: There are a few possibles. A separate megalomaniac terrorist cult leader who gets killed by the PCs at the end of the first mission had End Boss as a lieutenant when he hit upon this great find in his own backyard. End Boss was sent by *government* or the Patriots or whatever to infiltrate the group both to destroy them and to monitor their operations so that they would have enough information to destroy all remaining traces of the serum (And thus ensure their own stocks remain unrivalled. Their version may actually differ from Big Boss' version, being weaker but more consistent and controllable, because there are actually multiple spooky psionic inca temples oooooooo).End Boss may lastly have just found the place on his own.In each case, I think a better origin for the bosses is that they're the outsiders EB brought onto the project in order to allow his insurrection to succeed, and also his first successful test subjects (Starting at low, safe doses of the serum, and with a reverse, 'vaccine' equivalent in the case of Sparrow. One of his end goals is to use his weak artificial psychics to locate all the strong psychics as children though).2: The base is an archeological digsite camp turned clandestine pharmaco operation, built by said terrorist org with a little actual pharmaco funding on the side in exchange for kickbacks of the serum to said company. It'll be great to reveal even after the end that said company is just making thousands of ludicrously weak psychics using trace quanities of the serum to make people reliant on their stimulants and cognitive enhancers. Meanwhile on the base he handles the more extreme stuff like experimenting with high doses, packaging stuff to be sent to the child soldier camps...The first mission should take place at a separate facility that is the 'headquarters' of End Boss' group so that the party can play a role in facilitating his rise to full power by assassinating the official leader of the group.
>>38693036>>386924653: End Boss' actual demands of any established organisation would be either totally false and merely a means to stall for time, or very short term. Considering the man is a MASTER of PR and media he probably has ones that make him look very sympathetic. For instance, maybe he claims to the local militaries that he is disposing of stored chemical weapons that they clearly cannot be trusted with. And any time any 1st world military threatens involvement he spins out a piece about how he is consolidating regional control to prevent any more children from becoming militia members and how if he's taken out then there will be noone to stabilise the region and it will return to the same chaos that preceded his regime. As far as his plans for world domination, he doesn't STRICTLY SPEAKING have any. Or rather, he thinks that he is establishing a regime that can stall against the Patriots. By using psychics fucking everywhere, he can override any SOP controls and provide a zone free of Patriot influence, which, once the Patriots begin to really fuck shit up which he sees as inevitable, people will flock to all on their own, and there he will be king. He's like a selfish asshole Noah of sorts.Presumably he would need plans to counter Metal Gears though since psychics are only a counter to the Patriot's tactical level forces and interference.

>>38693150>He's like a selfish asshole Noah of sortsMaybe he's not an asshole. Maybe I'm the asshole...I'm just thinking. >>38693494But are those your real orders, or just another of Sparrow's tricks?
>>38693357But how do you know that isn't even more PATRIOT SHENANIGANS to create a dedicated organisation that can identify psychics so they can recruit or eliminate them? Like literally they couldn't actually create an organisation to do this because the psychics would be able to read the ill intentions out of their thoughts, only by creating an organisation that genuinely, to the top man, believe they are there to help psychics can they create a suitable honey trap to then compromise in 10 years time with a combination of computer hacking and the by then sufficiently advanced drone weapons... and ensure that once and for all, everything remains under complete control.

>>38693872In the absence of OP I'm going to HOPE that the 'Mag' in Mag Man is short for Magazine. He's an assault class which presumably translates to medium armour with shitloads of ammo on it. And the man part, well... we've been warned he's a crazy motherfucker. So maybe his thematic stylisation would be of mankind as the ultimate predator/habitat destroyer or whatever. Maybe he wanted to be a megaman villain instead? fuck i dunno.I wanna slap whoever came up with him in the face through my internet screen for making me wrack my brains so hard for any trace of meaning though.
So what kind of facility is it? Is it just one of those cities up high in the mountains where all the stones are smooshed together water-tight? Or is it one of those ones you see with all the pyramids and sun-sacrificing? How expansive would it have to be? I imagine a place where snipers could duke it out without the base caring would have to be huge.
>>38693902The last five pics I drew got fuck all response from OP. I don't need my epeen stroked but some confirmation would be nice. Oh well I'll save the thread anyway, the story created here is pretty damn impressive and totally fits the MGS world.
>>38693902That's what I thought. Someone with shitloads of ammo. I don't know why that'd be special, though. Maybe he has reloading skills that of solid snake. Maybe he uses one type of pistol like Revolver Ocelot? I don't know, just thinking out loud.
>>38693920You did good, bud. He's probably sleeping.
>>38693902I want to believe he's really into Nietzsche and his codename is a philosophical statement on the nature of Will or something.
>>38693902PC characters aren't too important anyways. I'm sure everyone who wants to play an mgs game will want their own original characters. Unless you're Kojima himself browsing tg for ideas.
>>38693905I was thinking a fair area of stone hovels overgrown by vines, but the main gems would be the stone temple and its interior depths, and the pharma facility with attached barracks, defences, generators, water towers and other necessities. And then iterate all that support infrastructure shit for the headquarters as well.Flamingo can just intercept them in a random stretch of forest between two places, Condor would probably force them to fight him on the airstrip and its surrounding hangars and stuff.Owl doesn't really need any specifics except for moderately open/close spaces, plus nighttime.Sparrow is probably a good fit for fighting inside the pharma facility because its going to be a weird as fuck place anyway, so her traps won't seem as out of place.Dove could be cool to fight in the ruins or in the temple.End Boss would then be a running battle across all of these places. It's still a fairly claustrophobic setup I admit since even just artificially adding distance to stuff, the largest that the facility can believably be is that military base you fight Excelsus in.
>>38694069Good enough for me. I'm almost finished, I think. The End Boss needs to have multiple stages of combat. What are those stages?
Something doesn't feel right with Mystic Sparrow, though. I think the thought of her using Wizard of Oz trickery and being found out would be pretty funny as she claims to be psychic. But it still doesn't make sense that she would have that attributed to her if she really can't use that ability. If she was an awesome soldier, that's what she would be and none of her colleagues would think otherwise. She wouldn't be there and there'd be no talk of her as a psychic.Unless she comes from a long bloodline of psychics and that has something to do with the serum manufactured there.
>>38694159Maybe she became an expert hacker entirely through hew own hard work, but everyone assumed it was some kind of inborn technological empathy because of her family history. The way she sees it, the whole world is calling her a cheater.
>>38694103Hmmm.Well I'd think that the first is whatever bastardised metal gear tank thing he stole as a metal gear deterent (Maybe some kind of computationally overclocked REX derivative designed to intercept railgun shots with its own?) or alternatively if we are going with STONE GEAR.But that's going to have a few stages of chasing and being chased while its various peripheries are smashed off.I think following that fucking up, End Boss uses telekinesis to rip his way out of the husk, but mimes actually doing it so that it looks like he's just ArmSTRONG. Begins his monologuing about the actual truth behind the political situation with one hand clutched to his chest and the other outstretched as if to say 'no more'. This is a feint, the outstretched hand is actually projecting a psi barrier and the first attack that tries to disrupt his monologue will be stopped by it. He then reveals that he's, you know, the greatest psychic of all, and the fight begins. In the first stage he's pretty much operating at full power which means excellent precognition, excellent telekinesis, and mind control. He'll probably walk around the battlefield being largely invulnerable at first: He can project decent sized psychic barriers (Which are utterly fucking impervious) with telekinesis with each of his hands, if the PCs all attack from one direction he has the extra hand free to puppeteer one of the PCs against the rest. He'll periodically toss shit at them.Once the PCs can hit him from more than 2 directions in the same turn, he flinches as he precognitively dodges and then pulls all the guns out of their hands (and like 4m away from them), giving him time to dive for cover and pull out a gun.The next stage he pretty much just stalls to talk some more, suppressing fire with the gun, using conventional cover to supplement his shields, and occasional telekinetic dashes to slam anyone who strays too far from the others into the ground, until they start to group up again.
>>38694283>STONE GEARI don't dislike the symbolism, but I think Ceramic sounds better than Stone.
>>38694283He then levitates out a ton of grenades over the battlefield and detonates them, plunging it into darkness. "I remember the lives I've traded to be here. Will the La Li Lu Le Lo remember your sacrifice?"They are then savaged by knives held like Owl's krueger gloves being telekinetically flung through their ranks blindly. As the smoke clears, he's now hidden behind a shield like Doves, and floating a rifle like Condor's over him and firing it at the PCs along with his own SMG or whatever to try and pin them.As soon as they figure out how to break the stalemate, he does the grenade trick a second time. In the midst of the smoke the PCs are shown by GHOOOOOST SPARROOOOW the injector with the anti-psi serum in it.Once they have the minimum of information, the smoke clears to reveal a fucking tank falling onto them. Then repeat the pattern, but they now have to find a way to stun or blind him with flashbangs or stuns or knockout gas or whatever in order to jab him with the syringe. That would then be followed by his final pathetic struggle/quicktime event. Maybe even a mental one as he tries to rapidly brainwash them into servants before he loses his powers for good.
>>38694257I like it more that she's actually a psychic and she's just playing End Boss along.
Bumping thread. I hope this becomes an ongoing project. What else do we need for this game?
>>38694159>Something doesn't feel right with Mystic Sparrow, thoughI disagree. It's fine how it is.
>>38695305>It's fine how it is.Meaning she's supposed to be an amazing psychic in a facility full of psychics but she's not so much a psychic as she is a trickster?
>>38675740>engineers soon learned to reproduce the effects of a high frequency blade by loading an artillery shell with thousands of miniature aerofoils, each roughly the size of a postage stamp>the aerofoils were designed to resonate in a high speed airflow, becoming a flying cloud of miniature high frequency guillotines>within a few years of its adoption, the HF sword was largely replaced by the HF cannon
>>38695491Fuck. Isn't that a little overkill? Whatever happened to good ol' fashioned nerve gas?
>>38695491Maybe they'll make shotshells loaded up with HF tinsel.
>>38669748Not all of them. Cyborg Ninjas would have a whole array.
Didn't someone before mention before about the second in command actually being the ones to purchase the services of the players? Sparrow would be playing stupid the entire time but pitting both sides against each other. Perhaps End Boss's mental defenses were too intimidating and telekinetics too powerful, Sparrow couldn't quite outright assault him. She she plays a flunky all the while helping players with her amazing telepathy. Then at the end we have: >>38693494and>>38693583Motive is the mystery, though. Perhaps she feels her abilities are a threat to human progress, or perhaps she wants to monopolize the ability. Regardless, I'm sure her employers have the same objective. Hell, maybe she works directly for Big Boss to keep the tech away from the Patriots, who End Boss was working for. That would give players opportunity if they thwart Sparrow's shenanigans to receive a thumbs up from Big Boss himself. And maybe a job offer.

>>38695338She's someone who grew up in a house full of powerful psychics, who only very briefly realised her potential as a powerful psychic herself, in a facility full of pathetically weak psychics, who pretends to be a powerful psychic using computers. There is the alternative that she's going full "I have pretended to be mentally retarded for 7 years" but it kind of irks me. Maaaaaybe if the trick was that given Sparrow's ascendant computer SKILLZ she became aware of End Boss' development of an anti-psychic drug, and swapped out the real one for a fake at one point because seriously who would trust that asshole with that shit, only to be proven right when the first thing he would have used it for was to suppress her own awakening powers, which she's decent at hiding for having grown up in a whole family of psychics. And meanwhile made sure that the real one made its way to where it was needed.Ultimately, one could make the argument that Sparrow is doing the Patriot's work in preventing End Boss' resistance to their plans, but at the same time putting a spanner in them at the end when her own enmity towards psychics causes to stand in the way of the PCs picking up the pieces of the organisation and reforming it into something well-intentioned.

>>38697318I'm alright with this. It wouldn't need to be 7 years though, would it? Regardless, I'm sure feigning to be a normal person and not a psychic comes second nature to a psychic.I'm sure that being a natural born psychic, she'd have plenty of hatred at the thought of giving such a dangerous power to everyone regardless of what her employers desire of it.
Well that's bump limit. Any sign from our resident drawbro?
