Archives: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=zombie%26witchquestYou're name is Last. The late runaway son of a drug cartel family, having yourself died some time ago.Though as you've since continued to learn, death is a rather fluid concept.Rather than simply rot away as fish food under those warm southern waters, you'd somehow chanced upon the site of a long sunken witch. Well, her mind at least. A witch that had cut you a deal. Help her recover her stolen pieces of self and she keeps you from the white light at the end of the tunnel. Thus had begun the grand adventure that had led you up to this point. Uncovering a global conspiracy which lead you to the difficult truth that those constrictors now ran at least most of the world. Trips to unconventional, irradiated places. A fight against an Atlantean mage bearing a grudge as old as history. And all of this with Her. With Ruin. With Kiara.“The resistance.”Those simple, small words clatter through your cloudy mind, as though shocking long dead nerves back to a sparking intensity.Yet all you can do is stare, as all at once and only now do you realize how cold you feel. How alone. In a coughing fit you collapse back to a knee, clutching your chest. You could swear that you're actually hacking out dust, that your very bones rattle with each spasm. For the first time in a long time, you hurt. Not the sort of pain of bursting platinum canisters or ancient, cursed swords. But a deep, aching, piercing agony that seeps right from your marrow, permeates your muscle. It is only then that you see you hand grasping the shirt. Your shirt. What was left of your shirt.A cracked, weathered, and frail looking appendage with jagged fingernails. Your hand. Discolored and rotting and wrong.“What...” You stammer, falling back from the knee onto your backside in the cold damp dew of the morning.
The redhead lowers herself to your level, analyzing eyes of blue working themselves over your body.“Well, you are a zombie, aren't you? A shell? It's no great wonder that you're a bit... Decrepit...”You clasp your hand open and shut several times, the burning ache permeating through each flex of the small motion.“How long have I... Kiara...” The pain of your fingers digging into the scorched earth beneath suddenly seems almost focusing.“...That's the second time you've said that name.”“Where is she?” You grimace, bite the words through your teeth, the image of her hand, reaching for you, searing through your mind. A pained face that worried you, but a scared face that shook you.The horror that had devoured you as she had whispered your name.Though you receive no answer in turn as the eyes of those crowded around you now shift to one another in absolute uncertainty. Not a one offering so much as a word.“We don't know,” The redhead finally speaks, barely above a whisper. “But it seems you've awoken just in time... To watch this world die.” The girl finishes, nodding as she stares at your hand.
And as your fingers rise into your own vision, you see that they only grasp at dry ash, as though the very earth below you were a corpse.“That spreads every day, every moment. Nothing we do slows it down, nothing seems to survive that. From anywhere it pops up it crawls in every direction, leaving nothing but that ash, poisoned earth, dead land.”Opening your grip you watch as the black remains sift through your fingers, blowing just so lightly in the wind.“How long have I been out?”“Is there any way for any of us to know? These patches have been surfacing for something like six months now, if that helps.”Six months. You simply let go and lower yourself onto your back. Six months. You're only vaguely aware as several pairs of hands lift you onto a makeshift stretcher, as you watch the black, charred forest fade, as the doors to some sort of military vehicle close behind you. You're simply spent, empty, out, dry.And in your mind only silence answers.
***“Last...”You can't catch that hand, no matter how you reach, it is beyond you. Beyond you as the drone emotes a bemused laugh through its speakers, avian head tilting so slightly, and as its chest closes around the platinum box.Too far to reach, though your very being screams and claws against the darkness growing at the edges of your vision. As all you can hold onto is that soaring fury, as the drones turn there attentions elsewhere. And a small, familiar hand grasps your own wrist and your head lolls back, all it can manage, to take in the short girl.Sarna, usually so bouncy and glowing and bright. Now as though she had seen years without sleep. Her almost always vibrant face suddenly mute and pale, cute blonde hair full of dirt, clothes muddied. You're only half aware as she pushes the straw of a crumpled juicebox against your lips. Everything seems so slow, now. So quiet.“It isn't over.” Her voice, as though a lifetime away. She stands, now, above you. At the same time, the drones seem to notice and turn toward her. You want to shout out, tell her to run, fight, anything. But something in you is sure that she, the littlest immortal you know, is already aware.“Promise me,” Sarna beams, lips curled in all the smile she can manage, “Promise me,” as tears well at the corners of her eyes, roll down those soft cheeks and drip onto her dirtied sweatshirt below.“Promise me.” As a drone towering behind her raises a chipped metal hand, more claw like than human.“Say goodbye to your little witch.” The drone croons, its sensor eyes looking down at you.“Or rather...” It pauses as its hands clamps around her neck, “My little witch.”“Never forget hope.” She finishes, eyes clamped shut as they try to fight back the tears that don't stop, as she smiles for you, one last time.***
>>37641890Oh hell it's back! But I'm at work! FFFFF-Good to see you back Papa.
>>37641890It's back! I have no idea what's happening! This seems depressing as fuck!
“Whoa! Stand back!”As these images flicker through your scrambled mind, you're only vaguely aware as what remains of your body flexes and spasms on a table as several pairs of panicked hands attempt to hold you down.Even the black, ethereal appendage that seems to have sprung from your chest seems foggy, distant, and far from concerning. Its shadowy fingers snatching toward the few gathered around you as they each reel back away from it.“Listen to me! You have to calm down! What little magic is left in your body is destabilizing! You'll lose the last thread holding you together! Damn it!”“Can't we just infuse him with our magic?” Another voice.“Out of my way, OUT OF MY WAY!” This voice, one you recognize.Through your seizing you make out the haggard features of someone you haven't seen in quite a while, as he stands above your body, grimacing.“Lord, you look like a mess. Wake the fuck up!” Kenzington grabs you by the face, the worn, weathered palm pressing down. And all at once, clarity.Even as your eyes focus on the aging ex priest, the shadow that had lurched from your own body now subsides until it disappears completely.“You can't give him any of your magic now, you know that. It would be like giving a dying man the wrong blood type. I don't know what's going on, but something is keeping him alive. Is there still platinum in his veins?” The former priest asks one of the many witches around you.“Yeah...”“And magic?”“Only a bit, but it's just so weak...”“What the hell is happening to me?” You groan as you push yourself back up until you're sitting on the dusty medical bed in the small, dim room. Though you can't quite grasp it, you've got a hunch that this place is underground.“I don't really have an answer to that one, boyo.” Kenzington shakes his head and scratches at his scraggly beard.
>>37642429>>37642458It needs a real conclusion. If anyone needs help catching up/questions answered feel free to ask.
>>37642581>It needs a real conclusionI-is it alright if I cry for a little bit? You made me so happy just now...
It's been way too long for me, I don't remember who anyone is or what we were doing or anything...
>>37642640Here's the last threadhttps://archive.moe/tg/thread/28107825/#28111643Basically you were caught by the Order and had Kiara forcibly removed as everything went to hell. Can't beat them drones, man.
>>37642640All I remember is that we just lost our witch
“Do you remember what happened before you lost consciousness?” The redheaded girl asks, putting a hand on Kenzington's shoulder to lean in herself. You nod and slide your legs off the bed until you can set your feet on the ground. As small as that is, it seems to help.“Where is this place?” You ask, blinking as you look around.“Outskirts of Atlanta, a little hidden base we carved out for ourselves over the years. We've been rigging the sensors around here for a decade so we can stay under the Order's radar. It isn't much, but it's home.” The redhead answers you again.“Who the hell are you?”She laughs just once.“The only immortal here, aside from you, maybe.” She looks you up and down quizzically.“For now, you can just call me April.”“I have a feeling that's not you're real name.”“And you'd be right. But my real name is quite old, and very difficult to pronounce. But that's not what's important right now. Can you walk us through what happened?”As you recount what happened that night in the forest, each of those in the small room listen intently. Partway through you're offered a bottle of water which you gulp down hungrily only to feel mildly sickened as you feel that same water leaking from a hole in your left side.“So our worst fears have been realized. They have her...” April speaks but the rest remain oddly silent upon the conclusion of your story.
“What's happening? Why do you all look like you just watched your team get knocked out of the playoffs?” You grumble, already on your feet and pushing your way out of the swinging set of double doors, much to the surprise of those gathered around you.You keep walking through a snaking tunnel, its ceiling mere inches above your head, to the point you have to move out of the way to avoid the jury rigged lighting and the odd low hanging bundle of cables.A younger girl with a bandage over one eye and an old olive drab helmet on, you're assuming a witch, gapes at you as you pluck the barely lit cigarette from her lips and pick up the rusted old M70ab2 that had been leaning against the dirt wall beside her.You take a drag, feel a million times better, and ignore the odd sensation of partially exhaling through your own semi-exposed ribcage.“What are you doing?!” You can hear April shout from behind you even as your hand closes around the heavy steel handle to a rather imposing door of rusted iron.Turning only slightly to give those following you a glance, you take another drag, rest the rifle on your shoulder, and turn the door handle.“I don't care what the rest of you do. Me, though? I've got some witches to save.”
With that grim determination you push out and past the door and into the beyond. The night air rushes around you, warm and humid and familiar. That feels great. What throws you off, though, is pretty much everything else. You whistle at what you first notice, though really it would be impossible not to see it. Though you've seen some pretty large moons in your time, harvests and bloods, you know that this just isn't right. The gleaming white brightness is almost to the point of an early dawn and you can make out crags and craters that really you should only be able to see with a telescope. The moon is close. Impossibly close. So focused on the giant celestial sphere are you that you hardly notice as the others clamber out behind you and finally catch up.“Alright,” You relent, “Maybe I'll stop and listen for a bit first.”
This isn't Ice Vikings, this isn't Ice Vikings at all! My body was not prepared for all these feels. Good to see you back bro, also great to see this again.
Though you let Kenzington and April guide you back underground to a dug out hall of folding tables, you don't relinquish your grip on the rifle, and you gladly accept another smoke. While the rest of them each take a seat, you remain standing. You'd been leaning against a tree rotting for long enough, right now you prefer your legs beneath you.“Like I said before,” April continues, “This all started happening about six months ago. So much was going on at the time that nobody really paid the moon any mind until the tides started changing and the oceans started rising. Everyone was a bit more focused on the blooming rings of death. Well, that or all the war.”“War?” You ask, taking another long drag and still ignoring the smoke pouring from your sides.“War.” Kenzington confirms, “Almost everywhere and anywhere. We don't know everything, even still, but what we do know is that the Order itself splintered and even cannibalized parts of itself. The USA is in downright civil war and DC has been burned to the ground. Not all of the populace even knows why, but the truth of it is a military coup.”Kenzington cracks two beers and slides one across the dirty white table to you.“After what happened to you, and when the Order split, everything was pretty much pure chaos. They had some more indoctrinated military units going city to city burning out witches or anyone suspected, even. As it turns out, most people aren't alright with that. The opposition forces hit Washington with everything they had and that battle pretty much was the end of the major conflict between the US government and the uprising. Still, the Order controls plenty of ground and friendly forces haven't been able to push them out of their strongholds.”
“Most of the US military?”“Is dissolved. Most folks see this as the end of times, and I can't say they're entirely wrong. Our little group here has been working with whats left of the force that finally toppled the Order puppets here in the states, but we haven't done much to its actual leadership. But here's where it gets interesting.”Kenzington finishes his can and tosses it aside into a pile of others.“In Europe most of the fighting seems to be Order against Order. We aren't really sure of the divide but that's what we know. And that was before the moon getting closer, the asteroid impacts, the death spots appearing all over the world...”>question/talk/action?

>>37642262Forgive me for the dumb, but is Sarna dead or just captured?
“Well that was one hell of a nap...” You grumble, “Has anyone seen or heard from Kiara since?”Kenzington shakes his head.“On that, I don't really know anything. But it would be crazy to think that she isn't somehow part of all that's happened. As to her actual role I can't really say.”“She wouldn't be out to destroy the world. Not her style.” You drain the can in front of you in one long go.“Whatever the case, the world's changed since the last time you saw it.”“How about Sarna?” You press.“Who?”“Little blonde witch, about yea big, good at punching things.”Despite looking to each in turn, none seem to know whom it is you're speaking about. You bite on the remains of the filter still wedged between your teeth.“Anyone got a cell? I need to make a call.”One of the others gathered around, a younger man missing his left arm, laughs.“Those haven't worked for weeks. Even if there was still power anywhere to run them. We're running on magic here, friend, but none of us can just wizard together a working cellular.”“I've been communicating with the remainder of the US rebellion forces using a couple of witches. Twins that can speak to each other anywhere they might be. It's actually the revolution forces that turned us on to where you were. Not that we'd expected to find you there, exactly.”You frown but Kenzington keeps talking.“They've managed to get a few Order systems back online to try and track any large magic bursts. We've mostly been using it to see the spread of the death zones. A few days ago I came here after they spotted a huge magic bloom exactly where we found you.” The ex priest stares at you rather intently, almost as if expecting you to suddenly start shooting lighting from your fingertips.
“Sorry to disappoint both you and me, but I'm still not a wizard. Just the guy lucky enough to have had a witch wedged into his brain.”“Well one way or another, you were the only one around. That burst lit up the detectors like a fire and lead us right to you. That can't just be consequence.”“Well hold on a second, then.” You turn toward one of the younger witches nearby and raise your fingers toward her, looking rather menacing with how you are now. She recoils back a bit, but nothing else happens.“Nope, still not a wizard. Damn, that would have made things easy. Magic radar be damned, I didn't cause it. Now I've got a few people I really need to get in contact with, is there any way to do that?”April and Kenzington look at each other, and back to you.“Here? No. But the US revolution forces might know more than we would. We may be a gathering of magic users, but they have a group of witches with them, too. And more of everything all around to boot.”“Well then put me on the horn with them.”“That won't be a problem, we're actually supposed to be linking up with them shortly. Before you popped up we'd already been ready to join them for their latest offensive out in Las Vegas.”“Vegas?” You ponder for only a second before realization and remembrance hit.“The dam?”“It's one of the remaining Order strongholds on US soil and the revolution forces have been preparing to hit it for the last two weeks. If you're still looking for answers, you might find them there.”
Eerily enough, the Atlanta airport is as silent as a ghost when you arrive. Though you think that's a rather poor analogy as the closest thing you've known to a ghost was actually rather talkative. Still, the place is entirely abandoned save for the group of twenty you arrive with in the caravan of assorted SUVs.You learn along the way that of that twenty, only eight are magic users including April. She being the only immortal of the bunch and quite old herself, having achieved eternal life during her time as a woodswitch in ancient Wales. Most of the others made up part of the local revolution forces, though two were just friends of some of the magic users before anything went down. It's one of those two that turns out to be the pilot for your ride, an older C-141 that is several times too large for what you need with such a small group. Though as the pilot explains, it's what he's got that is actually in proper working order. In a short time you're high above the clouds and soaring to the city of sin. Somehow you get the feeling that you probably won't be landing to the sounds of slots and the flashing of neon.>talk/question/action during flight?

You just make that?As you check pieces over and do your best to check bore sighting to see if the sights are even close, you keep talking.“So what's the goal of the revolution? I know you said that they destroyed the government, but what's their end purpose?”April is seated across from you and is the one who chooses to answer.“After the Order split and the military started occupying cities, that was the last straw for a lot of people. Especially when everything turned into full on witch hunts. So they got fed up and decided to try to put an end to it. Needless to say that magic users flocked to their side. We haven't had many allies over the years since the Order came to be, after all.”“And as to the Order's split, you really don't know much?”“No. Though they've been fighting amongst themselves, they still have most of their focus on us it would seem. There have been a lot of theories. A schism in leadership is almost assured, but nobody really knows the reason why. What Order members have been captured haven't seemed to know much aside from which side they fight for. It has to be linked to everything else happening. It has to be because of Kiara, no two ways about it.”As conversation peters off, you aren't sure when you slip off into sleep, or even why. Zombies sleep? You answer yourself as your eyes close and you rest against the side of the aircraft.Though an oddly familiar sensation takes over when you realize that you're dreaming, and yet you don't wake up. Instead you're standing on the cold, hardwood floor of your old family home. Right in the kitchen where mom used to bake. This time, however, you find the fridge and cupboards empty. No doughnuts, no floats, no booze. And for a moment, you think no witch. That is, until you see the darkness in the corner.
Despite being both in a dream and having no heartbeat whatsoever, you feel as though it has stopped once again as you drop the phone you had been about to try just for the hell of things.“Kiara?” You venture, though you're only answered by silence. You approach hesitantly, unsure of what you're looking at, unsure if it is even who you hope it is.Though the form resembles the soul of hers that you had seen in the ruins of the Chernobyl sarcophagus, it bears some stark differences. This form isn't so much fluid as it is fleeting. Like bad reception on a television it just seems like the image breaks up at the corners. It isn't even solid as the closer you get, the more you can see though the hazy black body of whatever it is you're looking at.Still, it seems far to familiar to just leave it.“Hey...”You reach down and touch the form, ever so lightly, and its eyes turn toward you and those burning purple orbs bore into your own and all at once there is no doubt in you mind. The right shadowy hand snakes up to rest against the side of your face, before its thumb closes to grip you at the chin.Suddenly you're falling to your knees in a crippling pain as a torrent of sound floods over you, only somehow you're aware that this isn't you. As you hang suspended by all four limbs, the sound pouring over you as the tunnel of shifting colors spins around you. You can feel the screaming pain and the fruitless struggle and the panic, and the burning, searing hate. And all at once you've snapped awake again, your hands gripping the armrest so violently that your fingers are digging into the hard plastic.“Easy, it's just a landing.” The little witch you'd first snagged the M70 from gives you a queer look.

“Yeah...” You croak, throat dry. Though with the current state of your body, that isn't much of a surprise. You're almost certain that she showed you something just there, if that had really been her. Or a part of her. Whatever the case, it had felt far too real to just be a mere dream. You clasp your hands together to hide the shaking even as the plane rumbles along the airstrip in the desert.Leaving the aircraft behind, you're the first on the ground just hoping that the morning sun will shake that dread hanging on your mind. It doesn't, but it maybe helps just a bit.You notice that there are already a smattering of military vehicles waiting near the tarmac, and you're assuming they are there for you as none of them are shooting.“Yo April!” One of the men strides forward, face almost hidden behind his bushy brown beard, sunglasses, and chipping bump helmet.“Whoa?!” He stops abruptly when he sees you, what must be a rather horrific looking walking corpse, and his hand on the carbine resting on his chest tightens.“No need for that, Hart. He's with us.” The redheaded immortal vouches for you as she steps along beside you.The man looks you up and down.“You look like hell, friend.”“Not news to me. Who are you?” You ask.“George Hart. I head up the special forces of the revolutionaries. This is really the source of that magic, April?”“Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not actually a wizard. Just had an immortal in my mind for a while is all.”Hart grunts and motions with one hand. Some of his men head over to help load up the rest of your group and everything they brought along. You notice each of them seem to emulate their leader's bushy, messy appearance.“Well that's disappointing, I figured you could just blow open the dam for us and save us some effort. We'll talk on the way, let's go.”

>>37647138>removing it in the first placeCome on now.>>37647145Less than I thought. Feels longer with the new year rolling over.>>37647173All good boss.
You get into the rear of the same heavy truck that April and Kenzington follow Hart into, along with several more of his men and a few of April's witches. The soldiers hand out a few bottled sports drinks and a couple bags of peanuts. These you ignore but the younger witches devour them eagerly.“So do you guys even know what's inside Hoover dam?” You ask Hart personally. The grizzled vet lifts his sunglasses off and hangs them on his webbing, but nods.“Plenty of the Order holed up there still causing trouble, seems to be a source of those damn box controlled assholes we've been encountering more frequently as of late. We know it is one of the major stores for rended witch souls and we have a few magicians who can keep them calm, or so we hope.”It's still a bit unsettling that what had felt like just yesterday to you, almost nobody would be talking about this sort of thing. Certainly not in the open as if it were just everyday common knowledge.“Sounds like you guys are up to speed, at least. You don't happen to know a Kapernieks by any chance, do you? Old soviet? Lived in Miami? Drug cartel chief?”Hart stares at you quizzically.“My father. Guess not. How about Diego? Ex Ranger.”This time you can see the recognition plain on his face.“Pilot?”“Amongst other things.”“Well if it's the same one you're talking about, he's back where we're headed. Probably still walking his trainees through the assault plans.”>question/talk/action?

>>37647199Getting us to Diego will be top order then. As for anything else I'm not too sure. If Diego is making up assault plans then we want in on that. I guess asking how the world took the idea of magic being a thing would be interesting.
>>37647233>>37647211OPFOR will resume after this. Though I don't think either are going to be long quests overall. I really want to do something that isn't even remotely serious and I've been toying with a lot of ideas for quick comical ones.Vetr's story will probably be the focus for OPFOR, but I'll give Sulla a wrap up as well.
>>37647199I'd like to propose a plan. As a zombie, we can move underneath the water. A lead or aluminum suit would keep us off the radar while weighing us down enough to move on the bottom of the river. Load us up with some C4 and we'll blow a nice hole for distraction/opening an assault path.

Tangible relief almost washes over you at the thought that Diego is likely waiting where you're currently headed. Knowing him, there's no way your father didn't make it out alive if he'd been together with your weapons mentor. You aren't surprised to learn that he'd fallen in with the revolutionary forces, either. A man like Diego isn't the kind to sit out this sort of thing. Especially with how involved he had already been.Along the way you fill Hart in on what you know that he might not. Despite some of his own witches and Diego filling him in on what they knew of Kiara, you know more. To your dismay, however, even he has no inclinations as to where the Order might have taken her.“Could even be in that dam.” He ventures, though you're inclined to doubt it. Whatever it was that Kiara, if that had even been her, had shown you...It just didn't feel right. As the convoy makes its way through the barricades inside the city itself, you keep up conversation by asking how the world had taken the introduction of magic to the general populace. The population of civilized nations had mostly taken the plight of the witches to heart, upon learning of the fate so many had undergone. When their leaders had been outed as Order puppets in one way or another, more than one country had been fed up to the point of boiling over.
“Right now there's a European coalition doing its best to knock down the Order, whatever fragment they might belong to. But it's a stiffer fight over there than it is here. I'd like to say we could join our strength to theirs, but as is, we're struggling on our own front. We might have the population behind us, but the Order isn't without its fair share of strength, either.”Some nations had outright declared for the Order, while others had melted into absolute chaos. In some parts of Africa it was purported that rebel bands went around looking for witches to eat in belief that they could in turn earn their magical powers. All the way into the hanger you listen as Hart tells it.Right up until you look over your shoulder at a Diego who stares back, standing over a map with several other men gathered around him.>action?
>>37647698That's the general idea.Back in a few, eating real quick.

>>37647915Dude no, not while we're all grotty zombie mode.
>>37647885"Just napping in the dirt. Time to get my witches back."

“Yo,” You raise a partially rotted hand in greeting, “Took a nap in the dirt, decided its time to go and get my witches back.”You'd thought about hopping over the side of the truck and locking him in an embrace, but in your current state, you figure that might have come off as a bit rude. Diego stares back for several long moments, as though not fully comprehending.“You look like hell.” He finally relents.“As shocking as this might be, you aren't the first one to tell me that. Now you got a decent pack of anything? I'm in dire need.”You step off the back of the truck and walk over to where Diego offers you an entire pack of smokes and a quick light for one you stuff into the corner of your mouth.Noticing as the other men around him give you some seriously strange looks, you confront them.“That bad?”“Dude, yeah.” One of the group replies.“Well hopefully just a quick fix for my witchy woman. Now where's dad?”“Your father went over to help in Europe just a few weeks after we thought we lost you. Miami had already started to sink and he figured he'd go find out if he could help them. Your death hit him pretty hard.”“But I'm... Well I think I'm only partially dead? Actually I'm not even sure anymore. Have you spoken to him since?”Diego shakes his head.“Any communication we have with Europe is pretty far and few between and mostly amateur radio. We thought our power grid here was bad but I think theirs has taken it worse. We had a revolution, they've been having a real balls out war.”
>>37648554>We had a revolution>America fuck yeah>they've been having a real balls out war>Europe... not this shit again

“So I've heard. You seem to be taking all of this pretty well, you know?”“The things I'd seen prior to that, and knowing you like I do, I never really took you for dead.”You grunt a laugh before looking down at the table strewn with maps and papers.“Positions of enemy air defenses, known strongpoints, our forces...” Diego gives you a quick walkthrough of the map. You figure some other parts out yourself. Mostly that it appears a rather all out assault on what for the longest time you'd assumed was just some boring old dam. What catches your attention, however, are a few poor quality printed photos in grainy washed out colors.“What the hell am I looking at?” You ask, holding one up.At first glance you had thought it just a picture of a soldier, but looking again you're now sure that isn't quite the case. It looks eerily similar to something you've seen before, yet at the same time different.“They usually come in the night, whenever we're moving on to a different operation. They fight hard, Last, they fight like hell.”The young witch in the picture, apparent because she's hefting an M240 in one hand as though it were a mere paperweight, is clad in little more than tattered rags of what once might have been a BDU. Her eyes obscured by a box covered in a series of lenses, connected to the heavy collar adorning her shoulders.“What the fuck is this?”“We don't know everything, but we have some assumptions. They fight for the order, guns and magic both. Whatever is in front of their eyes has some sort of sensor suite. IR, visible spectrum, hell we're pretty sure it has sonar after they took out a sub off the coast of Cali. The worst part? They all seem to be immortal.” Diego moves several more papers, each bearing the figure of a different witch.“I hit one dead in the face with a hellfire and not two seconds later she punched an Abrams so hard its front crunched in like a can, killed all the crew.” One of the men around Diego added.
>>37648875Both of those things happened last year, but ok.Diarca came back too, then accidentally the hospital again.
>>37648875I want Hobo Rift Quest back as well.
>>37648999>The worst part? They all seem to be immortal.Fuck.We need witchy and we need that one dude that was working on the smaller box things... Bloody hell, what was his name (think it was a he).
>>37641890Hey Papa, literally in the first thread reading up and I just wanted to say, fucking awesome taste in cars man. My dad has an old '62 'Cuda fastback he's been rebuilding, my favorite line of muscle cars hands down. Really looking forward to catching up and being a part of the game!
>>37648999Holy shit. How have they been taking so much territory without platinum? After this, we need to start raiding Order platinum storage/refineries ASAP. Else our allies will crumple once we encounter anything more lethal than a kid.
>>37649110WAIT! OH FUCK! What happen to our Cuba! I don't remember!
“As is, about all our ground forces can do is retreat when they show up. Hard to beat what you can't kill. Hell you can barely slow them down. Damaging their goggles seems like the only thing that phases them, but whatever those things are made from is tougher than nails.”“Are they related to those drones we saw?” You raise your head from the paper to look at Diego, who shakes his head.“Funny enough but we've hardly seen those since we ousted the Order from the cities, and they never seem much interested in a fight.”You set the paper back down on the table and skim through the others, but they all just look too alike.“Have you spotted these immortals around the dam at all?”“Not yet, no. But they never seem to be far behind. Usually a dozen or so show up when you least expect it. Their low numbers seem to be our only saving grace.” Another man answers.>talk/question/action?
>>37649032God fucking damn I miss that and HK.
>>37649150First, we tell Diego about Platinum's effect on witches. Our allies should have told him this ages ago. Then, we inform him our of underwater abilities and outline this plan: >>37647338
>>37649074>Bloody hell, what was his name (think it was a he)I think you're referring to Damon?>>37649110I got to drive one once at an auto show. Wanted one of my own ever since. Someday, maybe.
>>37649150>So when's go time?Seems like the only thing that matters.>>37649199I worry about our body being able to take that now. Remember we had witchy pants in our head for all that... now? Questionable. I would prefer to air on the side of caution. Also don't want to potentially fuck with whatever link we still have with The Goat Mistress.
>>37649278According to Kenzington during the hospital scene, the magic supply is internal. We don't have to worry about the connection being "cut off." Regardless, Platinum's anti-witch effects is something that Diego and the revolutionaries have to know.
>>37649150then we need to act fast and expect them.whats the plan for the assault and where do they need us?
>>37649325I'm pretty sure we already told Diego about that a long time ago because we had pops get whatever he could to help fight that wizard/witch dude that was Alexanders body. Fuck we had BRRRT rounds made. Then we lost the A-10 ;-;
>>37649350>that was going to useHey words. Hey.
“Let's hope they ignore us, then. But surely you guys know about platinum by now, right?”“Oh yeah, we know. That doesn't make it any easier to get. All we have is stuff looted off what Order members we can kill. Even then, not all of them are armed with any. Seems only the higher ups, hunters and the like. Their grunts aren't much different from how ours are armed. After they learned that we knew about it, it's only gotten scarcer. We actually suspect they've simply hidden much of it to keep it out of our hands.” Hart chimes in, having apparently overheard you and deciding to join in.“Still, you should have some, right?” You glance around to the assembled group.“A bit,” Hart affirms, “but we used up a lot of what we had the last skirmish with those robo-witches.” He gestures at the paper.“We've tried making some of the fancier munitions like we've seen the Order use, but a lot of that stuff is difficult to just home brew. And we don't have enough platinum for every grunt in the field. We try to save it for operations like this. But it's not like we can load up every mag with the stuff.”“Hah.” A new voice. You turn toward the listening soldier who shakes his head.“You can shoot a shit ton of the stuff, but you try hitting a flying witch as she rains down grenades, or fireballs, it ain't as easy as it sounds.”From what you can tell, whoever these witches are, they aren't small fry. Though you seem to have met your fair share of immortals, you know that they constitute a small number of magic users, as most of those are caught early and young by the Order. Those that evaded capture long enough to meet you aren't really all that plentiful. Even Sarna had been an Order tool when you'd first encountered her.
“We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. If this assault goes well, we should have this place down before they even show up.” Diego answers, before turning back around to you.“As for you, we've already got this assault more or less planned out.”Diego draws out the main plans for you as you follow along. The first stage of the operation is a swift and single timed attack on all nearby AA installations in order to clear up the air. The Order doesn't seem to have any presence in the sky here, freeing the big blue up for Diego and his squadron of twelve. This task has been left to the select of the SF unit with what few artillery pieces are available on call and ready. After those installations are down and the air cover moves in, it softens up the local Order forces as best as they can. Simultaneously the main group moves in force up the main road, utilizing their armor and counting on the air support to clear most of the way for them.Upon actually entering the dam structure itself, SF elements are to lead the attack downwards inside and underground while a contingent of armor and the air support holds off any Order reinforcements that might appear.“Really the only thing we haven't accounted for our our own combat witches. This group with me only has a few, and of those only the two immortals are in fighting shape.”“Does April make three?” You inquire.“Oh,” The redhead shakes her head, “Sorry but I'm really not made for fighting. It has never really been my forte, and I don't much have the stomach for it.”“The combat witches would be us.”
You turn toward the new voices and normally would have been disappointed by their rather small stature. But having seen what Sarna is capable of, and hearing what these Order witches have been doing, you reserve judgment. The pair are perhaps within a few years of Sarna, though which way is anyone's guess, each clad in matching and quite oversized woodland BDUs.“I'm Dian.” The taller one with messy auburn hair raises a hand which is still clutching an MP7.“Tia.” The other adds, her brown skin covered in a mixture of war paint and eagle feathers adorning her straight black hair. She doesn't lift the M2 cradled under one arm, but its presence is pretty hard to just ignore.“Something wrong?” Dian asks, screwing up her face as she stares at your own.“Nothing, you just remind me of someone I know. I take it neither of you are newbies, then.”“Well I'm only three hundred,” Dian shrugs, “Tia here doesn't know how old she is, but she remembers when the white men first came.”[ ] I'll join the first SF units and get those AA defenses down for you. After that I'll move in with the rest.[ ] You got an extra plane? I'm sure you can teach me how to use it in a few hours, right?[ ] I'll slog it out down the middle with the main force.[ ] I'll see if I can't sneak in and catch them unawares while they're focused on what's going on outside.[ ] Other?Additional:[ ] Take combat witches along with you[ ] Have them join the main assault
>>37650105Do we need to breath? We could sneak in through one of the damns underwater sections.
>>37650145>Do we need to breath? You currently have no real nessecary bodily functions. Not so much as a beating heart.
>>37650105>[ ] I'll join the first SF units and get those AA defenses down for you. After that I'll move in with the rest.>[ ] Take combat witches along with you
>>37650105>[ ] I'll join the first SF units and get those AA defenses down for you. After that I'll move in with the rest.>[ ] Take combat witches along with youWe need those guns down so we can blitz in with support.
>>37650105I'll toss in with these two.>>37650185>>37650199
“I'd hate to get in the way and make this thing more convoluted than it needs to be. Seems you've got it fairly well mapped out as is. That's why...”You set a hand on each of the combat witches' heads.“I'll join the initial SF strike, and I'll take these two along with me. If nothing else, we can make for one hellova distraction for the Order forces. After that we'll join the group on the push down underground. I'm hoping to find some answers there myself.”“You sure you'll be able to keep up? You're kind of... Skeletal...” Dian muses.“Witch please, I ran around with the Ruination of Shepherds inside my head, I think I can keep up with two midget immortals like you two.”You raise your head back to Diego.“When is the assault, anyways?”“Right fucking now. If you're part of the AA team that means you're with me. Come on, we're hitting the Eastern site.” Hart claps you on the shoulder, already walking toward the center of the room where others are loading onto the sides of several littlebird helicopters.“I thought we were taking out AA sites? We're going to fly into them?” You gawk.“Just watch your feet, don't want to knock one against a treetop.” Hart smirks.
Before you hop on, you do make a point to change into a set of multicam and strap on a plate carrier. Despite not knowing if you need them, you don't mind the little extra weight. Someone else hands you two mags of platinum rounds and an enhanced grenade “just in case”. The last thing you do is slap on an airframe and nab a backpack that appears abandoned. Thus you find yourself seated on the exterior bench of the littlebird, secured by a carabiner, in between the two combat witches. Each having strapped themselves up with plenty of ammunition, to the point where physically they shouldn't even be able to move. At least Tia, who has three boxes of fifty cal strapped to her back in addition to the one already mounted to the side of the M2 in her grip.“Why such a big gun?” You finally have to ask.“Tia is the goddess of a peaceful death,” She answers, waving the HMG slightly, “death from this is quite sudden, they usually don't feel a thing.”Fair enough.
>>37650712>“Tia is the goddess of a peaceful death,” She answers, waving the HMG slightly, “death from this is quite sudden, they usually don't feel a thing.”I like her.
LONG HAVE I WAITED FOR THIS DAY.
>>37650751I second your sentiment.
“Hold onto your ballsacks, we're flying low and fast!” The pilot yells back to the passengers as he fires up the engine and the rotor begins to spin.“Just don't lose yours, the last thing I want to do is crash.” Dian smirks back.“Is this going to be your first time in combat?” Tia rolls her head to look at you.“Me? No.” You shake your head.Though not perhaps as familiar as an AK to your hands, the CAR-15 clutched there is no stranger. You've been using similar rifles for years at the behest of Diego, who certainly prefers them himself. Despite the age of the design and the optic atop its fixed carry handle, both have been proven in warzones across the planet. Why not one more?“How about you?”Tia just laughs, as sweet as it is eerie.Normally you'd feel some sort of drop in your stomach as the helicopter lifts suddenly from the ground. However now you aren't sure if you even have what could be discerned as a stomach left. Yeah it's probably in there, but you know it's full of holes. You aren't sure what your first warning was that you'd finally arrived at the drop point. Maybe it was the few tracers that went arcing past your nose.Maybe it was the miniguns of the littlebird spinning up.Either way, your peaceful helicopter ride ends abruptly as the craft tips violently to evade enemy fire as it goes strafing past once, twice, and a third time.“As softened up as they're going to be. See you later, have fun boys.” The pilots voice cracks through your headset.
Lets hit em and hit em hard.Whats the situation on the ground?
“You heard him, ladies, lets get down there and get this done.” Hart answers as the skids of the helicopter grace the ground for only an instant. Which is all it takes for you to lurch off the side. Good thing, too, because the littlebird is back in the air only moments later. As you near the building in front, fire erupts from its windows.“Happy to see you fuckers, too.” You bite as you slide a grenade into the breach of the 203, roll over, and send it where it collides with the side of the structure and silences one gun there.“Tia!” Dian yells, though not in alarm.“Right~” The other girl replies rather monotone even as she stands up, leveling the M2 at the same time.As the little combat witch begins laying down a field of fire from her heavy gun, the rest of you begin to advance. You almost make a quip about the witches lack of magic, before Dian tosses a sidearm fireball through one of the windows of a bunker that rises to meet your group. You can hear the men inside screaming as they cook.Leveling your rifle after sprinting to the relative safety of the side of the structure, you eye the radar dish above. That must be it, you figure.Several Order soldiers run out the door past you, but before you can even squeeze your own trigger, each of them is more or less shredded as Tia continues to approach.Above you atop the building, several heavy guns continue to try to track the littlebird, which has since fled outside their realistic maximum range, though they had kept you from simply leveling the structure from distance. As you're now on your way inside, however, those big guns won't do the Order much good.
You know what time IT IS.lets be careful to capture one of them to get info out of.
First one around an interior corridor, you bring two order soldiers into your view, both of them turned toward one of the windows and not noticing you.“I'm back, motherfuckers.” You squeeze off several rounds into them.Tia simply walks past you into the hallway, her gun still blasting away. You can't help but notice as Dian follows behind her almost relaxed.“You just letting her do all the work?”“I'm actually kinda lazy.” Dian admits with a big shrug.Glancing around, you only now realize that you've outpaced the rest of the group who are still outside fighting. Meaning you've left those carrying the C4 behind, though inadvertently.“It's no problem, we can finish this before the rest of them make it here.” Dian says, almost as if she had read your thoughts.“I had.” She nods.[ ] Stairwells are dangerous and slow, but they don't usually give out[ ] Elevators are quick, though not always safe[ ] Can we blow our own way upstairs?
>>37651328I doubt any of the guys here will have info. Maybe someone inside the dam proper.>>37651342[ ] Can we blow our own way upstairs?
>>37651342>[ ] Can we blow our own way upstairs?
>>37651342>[x] Can we blow our own way upstairs?
Glancing between your two obvious paths to the top of the three story structure, you decide against them all. Stairs are dangerous and take forever, elevators are just a deathtrap.“Hey, can you just blow a hole all the way up and jump us up there?”Tia drops the muzzle of the M2 to stare at you and Dian just blinks a few times.“I suppose that could work?” She finally relents, “Tia, you jump him up there, you're stronger.”With that, Dian raises both her hands toward the ceiling. You watch with a bit of amazement as fire begins to gather around her fingertips, growing in size and ferocity until it swirls around her arms.A grunting shove and she sends it upwards where it seems to pick up a second wind of acceleration as it easily blows through the first floor without so much as pausing.“Watch your head.” Is all Tia offers as her left hand grabs you by the belt and all at once you're screaming upwards behind the fireball. Two Order members whirl toward you, shocked gazes, but you're already onto the second floor before they can so much as think about shooting.Upwards and outwards until you're a good twenty feet above the building. That's where Tia takes the first round, grunting as it penetrates into her side and the little witch comes crashing down with a wince on her face. Still in her grasp, the air is knocked out of you as you too collide with the roof below.
Or so you feint as the three Order guards not manning the guns move toward the two of you.One long squeeze of your trigger sends all of them to the ground as little puffs of pink explode from unarmored sections of their bodies. You get up to one knee and keep up the fire, sending a 40mm into one of the heavy guns as the man inside it reaches for a sidearm.Dian is up beside you a moment later, her little MP7 chattering away.“Are you alright?” She calls down to the wounded witch beside you, though she remains focused on keeping up the volume of fire.“It went clean through, I'll be okay.” Tia grimaces, one hand pressed against the gushing entry wound as she pushes herself off the ground with the other to prop the M2 atop an Order corpse and make short work of everything left atop the roof.Dian helps Tia to her feet, despite still gushing blood she somehow manages to remain standing.“Watch out, you two.” You say, as you prime a thermite grenade, before remembering that you're the only one up here that could possibly be hurt by this. You roll the grenade right to the base of the radar and duck as it goes off. Sparks erupt from the dish and metal melts.“Alright, lets get off this already.” Dian is the one to grab you this time and before you can react she's simply tossed you off the side.Your heart might have caught in your throat had it still been beating. The ground rushes up ominously until you're buffeted by a strong wind at the last second that slows your impact to a relatively soft landing as Dian collides next to you, her feet kicking up dirt as she supports the injured Tia with one arm.“As disappointed as I am to not get to use any C4, that was pretty fucking cool. She alright?” One of the SF members ushers the three of you along into a ravine, protected from enemy fire.“I'll be fine. See? Its already stopped bleeding.” Tia removes her hand and you see that she's right.
“Good, I'd rather have both of you with us when we have to go down inside.” Hart tussles the M2-wielding witch's hair before pushing her along lightly.“C'mon, we're the first group to down a tower but the others aren't close behind. Let's be the first ones at the entrance to the underground and shore the place up for the rest of them.”You know from looking at the aerial maps that it's a bit of a hike from your current position to the dam proper. Though that gives plenty of time for the other towers to go down and for Diego and the other pilots to move in and clear out anything above ground. All a good, solid plan, with just one simple flaw. Not a one of you knows what to expect once inside.A horde of Order troops? Enemy witches? There could be practically anything inside those heavy concrete walls. Especially since you know that as much as they were built to keep prying eyes out, their true purpose is to keep the souls of countless rended witches inside. That thought is perplexing. While you're hopeful at what you might find, you're entirely aware that it could be everything you'd rather never see again. While a little witch watching from afar, through eyes of glass and metal, thinks no thoughts at all...
Seems a good place to wrap up this thread so I can plan proper for the next one. Unless something goes wrong, I'm aiming for Wednesday, probably around the same start time.~6pm eastern standard time, give or take a few minutes.IIRC that's like 11pm GMT.

>>37652278It's just a huge leap into the unknown and the thought of how it signifies me growing up and getting older is all sorts of mindfuck.>>37652369Eight is the protag of HLQ2. Though Max will assuredly step in to steal the show every once and a while.
>>37652376You should do HLQ and Z&W side stories. Like if you're in a comical mood run a thread of Last and Kiara doing something random like hanging out and them bickering or shenanigans happening.
>>37652376>Even HLQ only lasted some 26 threads. It needs more.>>37652427>Eight is the protag of HLQ2. Though Max will assuredly step in to steal the show every once and a while.Sweet.>It's just a huge leap into the unknown and the thought of how it signifies me growing up and getting older is all sorts of mindfuck. But is it really? You already love her and live with her I'm assuming (otherwise what the flaming christ are you doing) and you don't need to grow up for it at all, my wife and I occasionally just sit down and do stupid fun things as if we were 20 years younger and we love it.
>>37641890Haha holy shit. No way this is running right now.
>>37652517Dude seriously, https://twitter.com/HereticalLoveQ bookmark or follow that, he's been back and running for a while now, though he's only just returned to this.
>>37652463It could happen. I want to try shifting back into the more comical style that was HLQ/GenA. Shorter/faster posts, more ridiculous choices and rolls, unabashed use groan-worthy cliches. And maybe using something with an already established and known setting which I haven't done in a long while, really. But really the only way I'll ever do that is if nothing about it is serious.>>37652514It's just a big jump, is all. I mean I haven't even revealed the full extent of my powerlevels to her yet. At least she took finding my Elin fig rather well, but that's a drop in the ocean. I've been trying to watch a seasonal animu with her for a few seasons now but as is I'm barely watching anything this season and what I am is the sort of stuff I don't really share that I watch anywhere but here. She'll watch stuff on her own but it's all otomeshit adaptations and she streams it.
>>37652670You need to have The Anime Talk and sit down and calmly discuss your differences in anime taste, and then watch Kuroinu together and fuck.
>>37652701Yeah I even set her computer up with all the same shit I use with MPC, a proper torrent client and a seedbox and everything and she just never used it.I'm not really sure how I could even begin to explain that I take pleasure in writing terrible alien smutfiction on a Laotian footpainting imageboard. She didn't even really get why I was so broken up over moot despite me telling her that without 4chan I honestly would have never made it this long.>>37652766>watch Kuroinu together and fuckI think it would more likely destroy her mind.
>>37652832She is pure and untainted, you cherish her forever and ever.
>>37652832Could show her Z&W, its a great story that normies could get into easily in that you don't need high power levels to enjoy it. You'll probably get asked why you aren't writing for a living though.
>>37652832Oi Papa, don't forget to archive the thread on sup/tg/
>>37652876She might actually be too pure.>>37652933I guess I could try piecing the posts together so I could just give her a printed copy or word file. I don't think she could manage through the threads as well.I'd love to write for a living but it seems pretty difficult to break into and after work/school sap everything out of me I usually get home and am super lazy. It's a good thing I can run on next to no sleep, I've been awake since 7pm yesterday.Have been kicking around an idea I'd like to someday write out not in quest format, though.>>37652985I'll do that.
>>37653018>I guess I could try piecing the posts together so I could just give her a printed copy or word file. I don't think she could manage through the threads as well.the moe archive can help with finding those posts>Have been kicking around an idea I'd like to someday write out not in quest format, though.oh? would it be a series of write-ups?
>>37652985I was working on it, trying to decide on what to put in the description, was going to go funny but then I realized this is more serious so I should do that.>>37653018But if you're going to do it, then I'll let you.Like I said I think Z&W has a great story, I've liked all the other stuff because they have been good but Z&W has a real story and depth to it. I really liked the way you've tied together like the crusades and various other things to the witches and thus the story.
>>37653057I still hate moe for losing so much image data during the transition. I use it, but I still hate it.Actually maybe releasing just a few pages when I have a chance and get around to it isn't a bad idea. Something I'll consider. Might at least get me typing it out instead of just brainstorming in the shower.>>37653070I did a quick archival. There are some funny Z&W ones. "Kiara has goat babies"Sometime in the future I'd like to be able to put Z&W into a proper format and at the same time clear up some of the things I don't think I devoted enough time to.
>>37653126>I still hate moe for losing so much image data during the transition. I use it, but I still hate it.IIRC 4plebs has images moe lost during the transition.
>>37653142Doesn't go back far enough. Thankfully suptg is there for quest stuff.
>>37653178make sure to save local copies of the images on sup/tg/ as whenever there is a purge for space there, first things to go are images
>>37653185I have but the problem is finding those images. I've always been horribly disorganized so some of them were just put into random 4chan folders I think I have most of them wrangled up now, though. And it is unfortunate that they purge but it can't be helped, storage space isn't that cheap. My latest addition is down to 299gb/1tb.Anyways I think I'm going to watch 2pureFrenchwitch and then go to sleep. See you all Wednesday.
>>37653214laters Papa, go cuddle with your gf
>>37653214Later dude, thanks again for the thread.
>>37652029>Papa N has legitimately returned>especially with the absolute best quest on /tg/ right now until HLQ2 praise chaos!
