For a moment, you seethe incognisantly in your skin, your flesh prickling at the advance of some unknown shadow. It doesn’t take long for you to realize, however, that you have no idea what you’re even afraid of, and that whatever it is, it has no basis outside the world of dreams. You relax against the warm fabric of your sleeping bag, breathing out heavily. There’s no monster. No shadow. You’re alone in your tent.Alone, if it weren’t for Laura. Her head lies against your chest, the slow, warm rhythm of her breath tickling gently at your neck. You’re still getting used to seeing her sleeping like this – your mental image of Laura at rest either involves the lotus position or short, shallow dozes, one eye practically open. But she’s fast asleep now, her entire body relaxed. You can’t help but feel privileged somehow to be seeing her like this – you doubt many others ever have.
>(2/2)Noriko, Kevin and Gaby returned last night, Kevin carrying an jam jar full of unspecified, greasy tissue and an expression about as sour as you’d expect. It seemed that the… thing… whatever it is, wasn’t going anywhere. You quickly reached a consensus on the matter of it being “some kind of truly fucked up shit, holy god”, but what to do about it, beyond delivering your sample to Peter, remains up in the air. You’re certainly not going anywhere near it ever again. Roughly half of you just wants to let Kevin dust it all, leave it as one more unsavoury mystery you’ll never have to consider again.Shifting carefully, you dig your phone out of your jeans. You have a text from the Phantom. >Kay. Soon as i confirmed, mr.k just sent back a meeting spot/time>17:30 PM Khepri Avenue>still seems insanely weird to me, you can still back outKhepri Avenue. >>37615997>Take your icky sample over to Peter's place.Speaking of this. I've been thinking, and you guys might call me crazy but... have you noticed anything odd about peter parker? He has shown up consistently with bruises from the night before, has displayed extreme reflexes, as well as being very skittish about the source of them. In addition he is fast as hell, we saw him cross that park and we've seen him dodge projectiles. So guys, who do we know that can use reflexes like that and has enhanced speed... Thats right, I think Peter Parker MIGHT just be The Flash! Think about it, it would explain everything, including his sketchyness and willingness to hide things from us, as well as how hes gotten in contact with Chet and why he dislikes mention of Spiderman. See guys, doesn't this all make sense, I know the evidence seems circumstantial but it all adds up! Peter Parker is The Flash, we should try to call him out on it.

>(1/3)>[X] Eat.>[X] Exercise.>[X] Talk to your friends.Carefully, you slip Laura’s arm off you, worming your way out from under her. It takes you the better part of five minutes, but you manage to emerge from your tent without disturbing her sleep. You kinda think the universe owes her every second of dreamland she can get. Your stomach rumbles irritably as you pad your way over the hard stone floor. You glance down at what’s left of your supplies, all bunched together near the base of the stairs, and feel your mouth beginning to water. You’re glad all your friends are asleep, because the next several minutes would definitely have raised a few complaints had they not been. You basically eat everything you can find that doesn’t require cooking – tomatoes, junk food, celery, whatever, you just wolf it all down. At one point you find yourself eying the last remaining eggs, seriously considering how they’d taste raw, before you decide that so far is far enough. You wipe your mouth clean and sidle away from the jumble of bags. Nobody saw nuthin’ and they can’t prove anything. >Hunger Level: 3
>(2/3)Your stomach sated, you lie on your back for a minute, letting yourself digest. You feel boredom setting in surprisingly quick, however. Used to be you could just hunker down and keep yourself warm for hours, thankful to be fed and breathing and generally just alive. The new you, it seems, has far too exciting a life for that. You think you might be becoming unsustainable as a hobo. Whatever. You work out for a bit, testing a few of the moves you practiced yesterday, with the added weight of a few bags of shopping borne across your back or upon the soles of your feet. It’s marginally more difficult, but still surprisingly unchallenging – you get the impression that if you want to lift, you’re going to have to track down stuff that actually strains your news & improved muscles. You feel a little robbed by the fact that super strength didn’t automatically make you super cut. Sure, you’re more… defined… than you once were, but you’re no Chris Hemsworth. That seems wrong, somehow. All the superheroes with super strength get look like they’re smuggling watermelons in their biceps (unless they’re superchicas, then it apparently goes into their breasts or something?), so why don’t you?Fuelled by a weird indignation against the inconsistencies of super strength, you opt to just run around until you’re tired, heading out into the Scar. You run for about thirty minutes, maybe a little more, before you feel like it’s enough, making a tight circle around the general vicinity of the station. The air is cold and clear, and seems to help you slough off some of the sluggishness of early morning (technically not that early, but… eh… you are technically a teenager).
>>37616696>Hunger Level: 3We need more food. Christ.
>(3/3)When you get back it’s 11:31, and someone’s rooting through the supplies at the base of the stairs. You feel a sharp pang of guilt, before realizing that it’s Layla and she’s just looking for something sweet to start the day off with. She could do with a proper breakfast for once. “Hey.” She mumbles irritably, finding bag after bag severely lacking in Hershey’s, Snickers, or whatever else it was you were munching through earlier. Honestly you didn’t stop to check. “Hey.” You glance over the rest of the station. Everyone else appears to be hunkered down in their sleeping bags. You decide to take Layla’s mind off the candy shortage for a moment. “Layla, you think you could wake up everyone? We need to talk about some stuff.” Her grins says it all. Fifteen minutes later you’re sitting around the stove with Noriko, Gaby, Kevin and Lucas. Laura, apparently, was impossible to budge. You explain what you discussed with the Young X-Men, making sure to go over all the details.Lucas is as about as enthusiastic as you expected, and Noriko perhaps a little moreso – a sharp, kinda comforting swerve away from her generally laconic persona. What you didn’t expect was for Kevin to volunteer too. He also raises a point you didn’t really consider:“So, like, if we’re gonna help these guys out... think we should just join up with them, too? Seems like we’re all sorta on the same side anyhow…”>[ ] That might be a good idea.>[ ] Nah, that could upset the stuff you set down last night.>[ ] Nah, The Young X-Men is a dumb gang name.>[ ] Write in.

>(1/2)>[X] Young X-Men a shit>[X] A SHIIIIIIIIIIIT“Well, they are the easiest to get along with…” You guess. You still haven’t met them all. How many of them did Hisako say there were? Seven? Eight? You remember she seemed to imply that the Corsairs had like twice their number, or something like that, and so far every Hellion whose power you’ve seen has been a walking WMD wearing human (or vaguely human, in Santo’s case) skin. You can’t help but get the feeling that joining the Young X-Men would be hedging your bets with the scrappy underdogs. If you were to assign them one strength, it’d probably be ‘heart’, or something along those lines. “…They have a truly stupid gang name, though.” Hopefully humor will suffice to brush the issue off. It is a pretty stupid name, after all. “If we joined, we’d have to change that. It’d have to be something cool, like… the Outsiders.” “That’s taken.” Notes Lucas, immediately. “Seriously?” “Mhmm.” He nods gravely. “Yeah, Batman leads them.” “Oh…” Oh, right, comicbook superheroes. When was the last time you read any of that? “I thought you meant a real superteam, but… yeah, I guess it’d be pretty lame if everyone thought you’d cribbed your name from a comic.” “What about the Undersiders?” Ventures Kevin. “Sounds kinda like…” Noriko squints in recollection, homing in on some distant memory. “…Some bad guy, from that film, the CG one, uh… he only appeared at the very end, and he was a blatant Moleman copy.” “That’s taken too.” Says Lucas, taking on an almost lecturing tone. “It’s a little more obscure, though…”
>(2/2)You spend the next twenty minutes or so talking about gang names, which is both awkward and hilarious. You can’t help but notice that most of the suggestions people jokingly throw out sound more like super-team titles than anything you’d actually name any kind of gang. You guess capes pretty much get under everyone’s skin, in some way or another. In the corner of your eye, you spot Laura crawling out of her tent, silently listening in on your conversation. >[ ] Welp, you need to go meet Ms. Hardy. >[ ] Or you need to drop off that delicious rotten muck with Peter.>[ ] OR you could spend the rest of the morning training with Laura.>[ ] On the other hand, Noriko and Kevin and Lucas should probably go tell the YXM they’ll be helping out. And so do most of your friends, by your reckoning. “…I guess you guys should tell the ‘Young X-Men’”– Your tone could not possibly wrap those words in bigger quotation marks – “that you’re up to lending a helping hand. I’m gonna see what Peter makes of our mystery meat surprise.” You glance over at Gaby. “You could go with, you know. It’s not like you’ll be running into any flatscans.” Gaby recoils slightly, hugging her arms to her chest with reflexive speed. “I… I don’t know if that’s… such a good idea…” “It’ll be fine.” Kevin beams. “The X-guys are pretty cool.” “…You spent the last half hour making fun of their name.” “Yeah…” You watching him scratch his head, smiling lopsidedly. “…I guess so. I said they were cool, but not, like, the coolest. They’re not Neo.” Neo? You raise an eyebrow. Is Neo still cool?Gaby seems to think about it for a moment, clearly fishing for some reason to decline, before her shoulders sag and she admits defeat. “…Alright.” She says, in a tiny voice. “Layla has to come too, though. We can’t leave her here.” You nod in agreement. You don’t really expect anyone to, you dunno, kidnap her or anything, but you don’t like the idea of Layla alone. With all your stuff. >[X] Get to Peter.>[X] Clothes on the way back.“…Want to come with me?” You don’t like the idea of leaving Laura down there in the station, alone. She spends most of her time away from the others anyway, but it seems wrong, somehow. Putting that into words is hard, though, so you opt to rationalize things out a different way: “I think I owe you a shirt or two. We can pick some stuff out on the way back, if you want…” You’re not sure if she catches the hopeful tone in your voice. She looks down, thinking quietly, gears turning, before unfurling to her feet. “Yes.” She states. “I would like that.” Her smile is a small one, and only lasts a second or two, but you couldn’t possibly miss it. Yours is quite the opposite – big, dopey, and extremely difficult to dismiss. You might as well be wagging an invisible tail as you climb the stairs with her. “I may also require a warm drink.” She notes, and you think you catch a hint of that smile again. >>37619405Because at this rate JJ is going to require an entire cow a morning to sate his hunger.
>>37619405Because Hobo. Also, JJ's appetite seems to have considerably grown, given his gorging binges. Photosynthesis lets him "eat" just by being in sunlight.
>>37619405Because while that is an option I have suggested and think we should do, JJ does not have a steady income.>>37619424Nah they're not. Because druids aren't totally right.
>>37619405JJ's hunger keeps increasing the more powers he gets.more groceries is just a stop gap.
Why don't we just start eating the Tunnel Snakes?
>>37619424they haven't derailed any threads yet or called anybody retarded for thinking differently yet to my knowledge.
>>37619471because THAT'S USAND WE RUH-RUH-RULE
>>37619471Laura would be into that I think
I still think we should go Healing Vitae path, instead of animal affinity if we go druid. I fucking hate talking to animals, and plants from story perspective.
>>37619509>eat some Laura>get x-points (?)>eat Laura again when she healswhat could go wrong
>>37619610Ill second this
>>37619541Agreed. Besides we can always get chat to translate for us anyway.
>>37619610Why? You can do exactly same thing with claws, that we already have. Also horns are really noticeable (and probably have downsides, when getting possessed by demon).
Bank>>37619665Pretty sure they're retractable. But yeah, they aren't worth it at our current level of C&F
I'm okay with whatever powers we get, because honestly their all good powers.>>37619665cost one point and they are retractable.
>>37619665>Also horns are really noticeableTheyre retractable.
>>37619665Think of all the puns about being horny.
we have super strength we don't need more melee powers.
>>37619665Retractable.Plus they're fucking cool.
>>37619716Because we have such good control of them, like we do with our retractable claws. They give absolutely nothing, and look stupid as hell.Horned lizard, with human face, and hair?
Bank. But I'd like to ask which bank we're putting the points into.
>>37619793one question with multiple answersbtw CJ has been gone for awhile.
>>37619787>Horned lizard, with human face, and hair?
>>37619787>They give absolutely nothingThis. At least wait until claws and fangs gets maxed so horns wouldn't be complete trash. Also, using our head as a weapon sounds very dangerous and not nearly as practical as the rest of our body.
>>37619843our head already shoots lasers, why weaponize it further?
>>37619856We can possible make are hands shoot lasers why put any points into claws and powers based upon it at all?
>>37619905now in English.
>>37619856I'm not planning on getting horns at all. I was just saying that if people want them for whatever reason - they should at least wait until they're as strong as adamantium.I still wouldn't pick them up if they were because using your head as a battering ram is dangerous and inefficient. Horns also give enemies an easy grip, and incorporating their usage in combat is a waste of time - as well as completely unnecessary because we have better things to fight with.
I think how much we eat correlates with our X-point acquisition. Thoughts?
>>37619842more like this
>>37619949No, our X-point acquisition is linked to the amount of exertion we undergo. The hunger just rises as we spend them on more powers.
>>37619949I think that we don't gain X-points at the end of the thread if our hunger level is above a certain point
Crusty did say in the ask.fm he might add Horns in with Claws & Fangs.>>37619949>http://ask.fm/CrusyJones/answer/125115702187>http://ask.fm/CrusyJones/answer/125128198059
>>37619949Go through every thread and compare hunger levels at the end of a thread to x-point gains. Then come back. What you're saying doesn't matter without what you're basing your claim on.
>>37619541Healing Vitae is not exclusive to Animal Affinity, niggah. You can have both
>>37619949I think its more how many more powers we get/upgrade.next powers acquired should address that concern. Photo or Druid or both.then wings for the paneling then lasers for ranged attack.and then go down on Laurajust my opinion
>>37619986That makes me think he's like super powered Wash from Firefly for some reason.
Couldn't we just eat parts of Laura? I mean, she regenerates and all.
>>37620042Your alphabet soup sucks.
>>37620061This. Just buy a cooler and some ice, cut off Laura's limbs and store them for later consumption.
>>37620006They both end up with growing plants. Taking both is a waste of points. Also I really fucking hate talking to animals. Its really shitty power. Its ether completely useless, or overpowered as hell. And it makes you a dirty hippy. And reduces our chances of eating non human meat.
>>37620097she has metal bones. just eat the soft parts
>>37620118>she has metal bonesNo she doesn't?
>>37620118>she has metal bonesPretty sure she only has adamantium claws.
>>37620061She probably has to eat the mass she regenerates anyway.>>37620130Adamantine Wolverine bones you dumb ass. Its whole skeleton deal.
>>37620118only the claws are coated.
>>37620112>And it makes you a dirty hippyThis. Treehuggers can fuck off.
>>37620154>She probably has to eat the mass she regenerates anyway.I always find it weird that people assume regen needs food consumption mass equivalence because reasons while they're perfectly fine with blasting out fucktons of energy from nowhere.
>>37620112>>37620165being a hippie is up to JJ/playerbaseit wouldn't turn JJ into PETAstop projecting you silly billies
>>37620195Do you even physics? Mater to energy conversion rates man.
>>37620215Talk to animals>animal allies>protecting animals>hippy
>>37620219marvel loves science but doesn't understand it.Wolverine regenerated from being a skeleton. he and his clones/spawn are hax.
>>37620244you stupid or trolling?
>>37620248He tends to regenerate from his brain tissue and spinal column, since being protected by encasement its viable cell reserves for his powers. Also explains why the nervous system comes as one of the first.
>>37620272I am logical. If we get the talk to animals thing, we gotta protect the animals we talk to, or they wont do shit. Its just logical progression of using the power.>>37620292I think that he is powered by miniature plot hole inside his bones.
>>37620292Even if that's the case, there isn't any food in him to fuel the regen. He ends up with more total mass than when the regen begins.
>>37620112Chickens are assholes, they will shit everywhere(even in milk tanks) just to spite their caretakers. They think they still are the big predator T-Rex, fuck you you little cunts. I eat chicken, and I know I'll be doing a favor to nature.
>>37620321>>37620319Yeah don't get me wrong i agree, but from the biology standpoint its not regen from nothing. Even if its ludicrous.
>>37620319its called slippery slope and its a logical fallacy.
>>37620376comic book science is from people with art degrees if they had a degree at all.the silver age hi jinks would give you an aneurysmMagneto manipulated the iron in someone's blood to affect the way they thought and mindcontrolled him. just take the bullshit at face value and don't think.
>>37620319muh slippery slope
>>37620356People think your kidding. Chickens are by far the dumbest animals on my homestead, but think they run their place from their little pen.Every rooster is also a serial rapist.
>>37620356>imageYes but none of those animals have the ability to purely live off of grown plants and don't use even more grown plants to feed the animals they slaughter and deep fry for food.
>>37620599I hold my right of saying told you so.>>37620670Piss of vegetarian. Not all humans can survive off plants, you know.
>>37619199I want it for the extrapolatives that require it.
>>37620734who told you JJ would stop eating meat?or are you just pulling that out of your ass like your logic?
Animal Affinity doesn't mean we stop eating meat, you chucklefucks. At most, it means we don’t kill our own meat unless the animal in question is an asshole. Like swans. Those fuckers deserve whatever we do to them.
>>37620919What ass are you pulling this from? I was just telling veterinarian to piss off.
animal flesh will be devoured regardless of power selections.
>>37620112Talking to animals does not reduce to you a hippie, trying to empathize with the non-sapient dumb as shit animals and projecting human emotions ala anthropopathism does. In fact, if anything Animal Affinity might INCREASE our anthropocentrism since we can so easliy control animals the further along the power we go. I mean, fuck, I certainly wouldn't care about a bunch of pigeons if I could convince them to kamikaze themselves into a glass window with but a simple gesture
>>37623817You know, I never really considered it by Animal Affinity is probably the buy-in for the persuasion power set. Probably more Jedi mindtrinks than outright mind control, be it'd be interesting if we could just tell Kimura to go fuck herself and bypass the whole fight for our life thing.
>>37620244Except animals have an innate trust with us at the start, we don't need to go out our way to make our squirrel friend like us to do shit for us because its instinct is to trust us from the start. If our squirrel buddy dies biting someone's face, hey I guess we get another gullible squirrel buddy
>>37623941That's what I was thinking, it's borderline mind control, hell we can influence the flight or fight response in humans at max. Further extrapolatives would probably allow us more control over humans old brains, Aquaman style
>>37623941>>37623988I'd take Kinesics before boosting Animal Affinity any day. It may not be "mind control", but being able to read people to the point where it's just short of mind-reading is pretty damn useful.
man you guys want the worst shit, you realize photo and warp boosts our strength to 5 and practically sets us on fire with spiral power right? we'd never have to worry about a fight again
>>37625224Strength 5 hardly makes JJ a big fish in the grand scheme of things, and Warp Spasm is one power that I'm really hesitant to take simply because of the possible repercussions of JJ hulking out more often.
>>37625338no, but as strong as she-hulk, as agile as spiderman (but even faster), eye beams, flight, invisibility, the ability to learn and copy someones combat skill in real-time, and with quite possibly the best senses in non-cosmic marvel and regen on top of that makes him kinda bad-ass. a reminder that all those powers combined makes him tougher than basically every non-thor, non-hulk avenger
>>37625224Given we've already had one cannibal incident I'd rather not invest in something that makes us more out of control.
Considering all the flesh related urges, I really doubt JJ could go vegetarian even if he wanted to. I mean, he's had to do willpower checks to not eat the corpses he finds on the floor.
>>37625224>you realize photo and warp boosts our strength to 5>>37625476Where did you two get that shit?
>>37625967It gives JJ some control over when he goes riastrad, plus it also allows JJ to have a small amount of self control in that state.
>>37627110if we used a photo charge to strength, and then used warp spasm would that bring us to level 5 strength? or would we just hit high end level 4.You'd just about hit level 5. from the askhttp://ask.fm/CrusyJones
>>37627478Alright. My mistake.
HMQ threads should never finish +100 posts below bump limitalsoDruid>karatefood over kung fu grip
>>37628683The problem is there are two ways of getting Druid.Druid A>Animal affinity lvl 2>Floral affinity>Greenfinger5 x-points totalDruid B>Healing vitae>Chlorophyll4 x-point totalPlus photo 5 can almost entirely remove the need to eat. But costs waping 12 x-points total.I would prefer Druid B
