But new struggles and adventures await us in this next Chorus!>+New Ecological Development: Biome Recovery, Old Growth Developed on MainlandThe re-introduced Jungle on the mainland has finally eaten away enough of the Fungal Growth and lived long enough to see the return of many once obscure and rare animals that are now common once again. The Mainland ecosystem is absolutely bustling and offering a new variety of Beasts.. including many Predators.>Lesser Manticore: A small to medium sized lynx-like solitary Jungle cat with purple to reddish spotted fur. The Manticore possess a large, scorpion-like venomous tail that it uses to take down prey-items much larger than itself. >Therasaur: A large, bipedial, dinosaur with razor sharp teeth, long strong legs and tiny arms. The Therasaur is the top of the terrestrial food chain and preys upon Elephants, Deer, Triceratops, and Sick or young Long-neck Dinosaurs. It is taller than a Cyclops and is not afraid of people.(please be patient, 2 more posts incoming)
>>37446040>Brackish Hydra: A large, many-headed constricting serpent that dwells within both salt and fresh water. Brackish Hydra grow slowly; growing 1 head per 7 years of life, but they grow constantly, can live to be at least 100 years old, and their heads grow back within days if cut off. Hydra's give birth to live young in large broods, these "hydra fry" provide food for many fish and bird species. Hydras are sacred to Gorgons.>+The Restoration of the Mainlands Freshwater Lakes+<The Fungus has receded enough to open up access to the Freshwater lakes inland and with it a plethora of fresh water access and number of freshwater fish including Mykiss(trout) and Red Salmon. >+/-Complete political collapse: Three Gorgon Tribes Established. The Gorgon cities not under your protection have completely dissolved. A few Gorgons have fled to seek refugee in Gorgon cities you currently protect, but the majority of them have gone "feral" and have established amazonian like Tribes living partially within the Jungle you've Established and the Fungal wood. Each Gorgon Tribe is defined by the Totemic Animal they worship: Spider Tribe, Manticore Tribe, and a Dinosaur Tribe. >+/-The Elves have disappearedThis news has come on the words of the newly formed "independent" Gorgon Tribes, but the Elves have disappeared. When asked further, they notice you misunderstand in that the people are not just simply gone: their entire territory has disappeared, leaving behind a giant imprint in the Fungal wood where they once had dwelled. They speak with a sense of anxiety and relief, "We are all alone."And so the Hymn of Silence must be sung and a new Chorus must begin.Roll for 2 Actions and 1 IdeaActions are d20, Ideas are d100.

>>37446387We should develop some kind of taskforce that can safely relocate dangerous fauna to safe locations or if necessary, put them down.>>37446625I agree, we should be altruistic and send relief aid in the form of food and farming knowledge and equipment. With the complete dissolve of the Gorgons Empire, the dissapearence of the Elves and a host of new feisty beasts and animals roaming around in the wilds... Cyclopes simply do not feel as safe as they once did walking the Jungles. The Manticore may be small, but it's sting is excruciatingly painful, there's rumors of Therasaur attacks and even kills in some rustic areas.. and There's now the occasional Gorgon she-bandit to worry about. This has all lead to the Sage Council funding and establishing a "main road" connecting the Gorgon Empire's two City-states as well as your own Mainland City and minor communities together. This "Main road" is paved with stone, lined with the occasional stone brazers/lights, and the Council encourages Hunters and Heroes to make a habit of patrolling the Road.. >+Heros double: +32. Total Hero count: 64>The "Main road" has ironically lead to many perfectly normal Cyclopes becoming Heroes unto themselves as they've sacrificed their own safety to protect and assist others they otherwise had no obligation to. It has inspired a new generation of civic duty and selfless'ness.
>>37446748I don't think we should occupy them, but I don't think allowing another gorgon queen to emerge is in our interests.
>>37446759If the gorgon empire is dissolving, what's happening with the Empress and the high priestesses?
What medieval tech should we try to invent? What are we currently missing?Just brainstorm.I'd say we need theology (we don't have a bible, really, unless you count the maddening works of the crying sage. And really, the biggest benefit of The Bible is that the lay people could read it.), economic guilds (capitalism and collectivism need to be reconciled), and maybe safe birth control for gorgons (they're outbreeding us).>>37446951Offer The Empress asylum. Straight up tell her that we'll give her safety in one of our cities if she requests it.
>>37447000I'd say we go for the concept of forming guilds for each profession so that like-minded cyclops can come together and help each other in their art or craft as well as help train newer members.
>>37447000No to all of those.Try windmills, education, apprenticeship, and better food preservation.
>>37447075Guilds should be separated, in my opinion. Each island would have its own fishing guild, for example.Competition will lead to greater benefits and innovation.
>>37446520>Discover the differences between the three tribes.>FreebieThe Three Gorgon tribes were descendant from the three City-states originally left in "chaos" when the Elves relinquished their colonial support and we were unable to assist them. The Spider tribe is the most populated Tribe of Gorgons and the frequent some of the densest Fungal wood in the Area. They have excellent scouts, huntresses, and possess a unique cultural investment in Giant insects and arachnids they domestic and tame for numerous purposes. They are lead by a council of Gorgon Amazonians and their silks are beyond compare. The Manticore Tribe is the second most populated Tribe of Gorgons and the most savage. They are a harsh, and cruel tribe of sadistic women who favor poisons, barbed arrows, and guerrilla tactics. They are nomadic and are lead by one very devious Gorgon who is constantly replaced by her assassinator. This tribe subsists off of Raiding, pillaging, and rape- but make AMAZING medicine. The Dinosaur tribe is the least populated tribe, but produces some of the largest, most muscular, and intimidating Gorgons. They are a tribe that honors strength and hard work and they dwell entirely in the new growth Jungle and by the lakes. They subsist off of fishing, herding, and are constantly besieged by the Manticore tribe. The largest and most powerful Gorgon usually leads them. They all venerate the Hydra Mother and the Cosmic serpent though. >>37446951>>37447000You misunderstand: Three of it's city-states are completely gone and have been reborn into tribes, but the ones we "police/protect" still hold their own power.
>>37447000Our people can almost universally read anyway, but offering the empress asylum does sound interesting. We are missing paints, philosophy in a more advanced form, carpentry, advanced metallurgy, Lances, Saddles, assorted other things. Spears, Axes, Hammers. Several decked boats. Barrels, Crates, trade caravans, wheels, more advanced architecture, astromancy. All useful things. We could do to explore the rest of the world, colonization. Maybe begin building inland settlements to replace the gorgon cities, maybe even move into elven lands, provided they're gone.
>>37447000a Wheelbarrow. we have the prerequisite, and it can easily double or triple the weigth we can transport. usefull for both agriculture and construction too.

>>37447230>Manticore tribe should be enslaved.nah, at the very least we should extend an helping hand to them, or send few hero to help them getting food in a more pacific way. that the cyclopean way.
>>37447308>This tribe subsists off of Raiding, pillaging, and rapeSo what do you want to do? Because it sounds like they need to be taught a lesson in justice.
>>37447331Agreed. Befriend Dinosaur and Spider tribe through common hobbies. Spider tribe would love our moths and we can get giant beetles or spider silk production.
>>37447345Taking slaves =/= justice. If it is really that bad of a problem we'll just have to help the other two tribes in getting Manticore under control. Everyone should remember what happened when we tried to wipe out the Parrats.
>>37447384RIP ParratI still believe Parrat Moses lead the survivors to the promised land.
>>37447375Diggin this idea
>>37447345Sounds like we need to improve that public response team and organize them into a proper organization. Developing shields and antidotes would be nice too
>>37446476>>37446485>Discover what remains of the Elves Territory and attempt to develop a colony in their former Territory>Roll 18/20>SuccessLead deep through the Fungal wood with the assistance of the Gorgons, a sizable group of your people have an interest in seeing for themselves what remains of the elusive and mysterious "Elven lands". It takes a few Months as the going is slow, the mainland is large, and the darkness of the fungal wood does not help.Eventually you arrive. The Elven lands are signaled by an abrupt and almost organized "cease" in the fungal vegetation and your people observe a distinct and complete silence as they look upon a massive expansion of complete flatness. There is nothing. There is absolutely nothing- The only thing to see is the other side of the land and the vast distance between each end of this desolate land. The Earth is a dull grey, there is no plants, no insects, nothing. It is devoid of life and even the wind itself refuses to grace this absent land. The Exception though is the mysterious dried out looking, almost atrophied "mound" jutting out from the center of this land. It is so tall it can be seen for miles, but despite it's ever present obvious'ness the Gorgons who've lead you to this area admit they have no idea what you're talking about. They do not appear able to see the mysterious structure.
>>37447000I think we should push for developing mechanisms. You know, basic machinery, like that seen in the crossbow.

It hasn't been largely know to your people, but almost all of your fruiting crops (with the exception of Sweet potatoes, Chilis, and Taro Fern) are all pollinated by Bats. Your people however don't know this, what they DO know is that when they go to pick their plantains, mangoes, or bananas they occasionally get a swarm of screeching, tiny, horrible bats flying into their faces, their eye- god forbid their EYE.Farmers have begun doing a private bat cull to make their lives easier: smoking them out of their logs, trees, dens, and netting them or hiring on Gorgon rat catchers to "deal with them".>-MILD FAMINE: poor fruit crop>-Population growth penalty->You are suffering from a Famine. Your people are "mildly" starving, inland communities are hit the hardest, many Cyclopes are forced to abandon their livelihoods and wander back to coastal communities to forage for famine foods such as shellfish, crustaceans, and seaweed or go scrounge around in the jungle for scraps.
Did we make a city around the newly made snake tree? We should definately do that.
>>37447624Yeah, something we could do with this increased knowledge in machinery is build cranes. While this doesn't seem like much, I would argue that we could use them in harbors to increase the speed of loading/unloading ships, as well as increase the amount of goods we can move. It would definitely boost the economy, which has had a lot of power in the past.

>>37449250Also, one cyclops male can impregnate several females.
>>37449169I say we offer the dinosaur tribe the chance to re-inject some culture into the urban gorgon peoplesthey'll be better off for it overall and we'll have a stronger ally

>>37449278Good point. Might not hurt to increase our goodwill.>>37449277True, maybe we can use some of the exquisite silks we get from the Spider Tribe to maybe offset the number of males we send over to them... (But then again shipping a few over wouldn't hurt... And It won't harm the cyclopses much, aside from outliving their children.)>>37449277Generally yes. But I do worry if their mutually exclusive... How are the tribes relationships to eachother?Might be poor form if the dinosaur tribe and spider tribe aren't fans of one another. Burly Ladies not digging with the sissy craftsmen do.
>>37449396>Might be poor form if the dinosaur tribe and spider tribe aren't fans of one another. Burly Ladies not digging with the sissy craftsmen do.We should slowly teach them about our collectivism.Dinosaur tribe protects the spider tribe and gets nice things from the spider tribe. Manticore tribe can go suck eggs or something.
>>37449373Honestly we might need to enforce some kind of fertility practice. We've been helping the gorgons plenty, but its time we focus on ourselves a bit.Like what if we enforce monogamy for gorgons but polygamy for cyclopes? That way no one is truly deprived of much sex or love, and multiple wives/lovers is still a thing.Honestly this isn't fool proof or well thought out but something needs to happen.
>>37449418We just need to teach Manticores that everyone wins when you're not a dick.We need to get them all drunk!
>>37449454We shouldn't "enforce" remember when the gorgons were so happy that they were allowed to have sex and children?
>>37449454I'd support this.Or having a gorgon wife and a cyclops wife. Best of both worlds. We should probably simply make it legal so long as both wives agree to it, rather than try to force it on people.>you will never be a cyclops with a cute gorgon sisterWhy live?
>>37449454nah, we just need to spread our collectivist ideas to our breeding practiceshave men actively breed with women pretty much at all times unless they're not physically capable of it due to pregnancyit sounds a little magical realmy, but it's effective and fits with our ideals and helps keep our population growing
>>37446387So we have a name for our land? Or our nations or towns? Cause look at this map makes me think,>Man the mainland looks like a bird head.Parratland? perhaps? Or the Parrat Peninsula?
>>37449510We might not be able to support this though. Consider how badly we reacted to a minor famine.
>>37449523>continent is a dead ZizzSpeaking of which, maybe we should try to contact the Zizz again. Just ask it about land it has seen in it's travels.I'm sure it'd be okay to just talk to it.
>>37449536overpopulation is easily solved by expansionsomething we wanted to do anyways
>have men actively breed with women pretty much at all timesthing is... Gorgons also count as women... so perhaps giving some sort of guidance on what would be "Temporarilly" better to fuck might be an idea.Just a sexual revolution like the gorgons had for themselves, except for us.
What if we approach the Manticore gorgons and pretend to pay them tribute but then we string them along to make them do productive things for itso we appeal to their innate sense of superiority but end up teaching them that doing good things gets them friends and rewards
>>37449557Yes This. I want to see whats over those damn Mountains already. >>37449541this sounds like a cool idea. A cool one that could go horribly wrong but still.
>>37449596We should expand to the southern cyclops too
>>37449610I wonder if our southerly Neighbors have been immigrating or expanding much themselves?
>>37449610Slow your roll. Southern cyclops have their own land. It's not like the fungal forest where no one in particular lives. We can't just walk in and say "This is ours now."
>>37449610Let's leave them alone. They're a good trade partner and there's no reason to start any bad blood. Mainland is where we should focus our expansion.

It grows constantly and can be transferred simply by planting it's vein-like roots on a warm, damp, shady surface. It must be peeled or it will continue to grow. It's spores can be used for medicine and fermentation and the "flesh" can be eaten raw, fried, or boiled- It has an "irony", sweet, "bloody" taste Gorgons enjoy.>Crop observed: Spriggan>Spriggan is a large, hairy, curling, teal, fern-like fungal growth that dimly glows. It's reproduces through spores, is grown much like Taro Fern and it's "hair" is shaved off and used for textiles. The flesh is bland and fed to livestock.>Crop observed: Chuka'chuk>Chuka'chuk is a red, hard, coral-shaped fungus that grows extremely tall. It reproduces through clippings. One of the Sages is given the go ahead and everyone remains silent while she plays it before the ocean; the deep blue waters her audience. The Waves calm, the wind stops blowing, an unnatural calmness overcomes the ocean as the Waters form and ripple together into a pool that draws forth a single Merperson. The creature does not speak, but it's intent can be understood within your minds like a distant memory piecing together echoes of imagery to form words. "Excellent, the adrift children finally return. Just as the Moon controls the manner of the Tide, so too does it conjoin and align our Destinies once more." The Merperson trails off, "Pleasantries aside, dear siblings. We understand you could be of mutual benefit: The Moon and our mutual Deep progenitor request your aid.." Off further into the open wide expanse of the ocean- something in the distance seems to be getting closer and closer. It's a Green pod, fleshy, waxy, "sealed" and floating gently upon the waves while it's being dragged in closer to meet with your boat in the middle of the ocean. Your people are quick to notice the Green "pod" is being towed not by much larger, muscular, mer-persons adorned with necklaces made from the jaws of Sharks or Marine Reptiles. They begin, "This Pod is new. This Pod is of Vegetation- living and with unnatural and artificially guided design and purpose." All of the merpeople point upwards. "This pod is not of this earth, it is of the Moon- so says the Moon Goddess and our Deep progenitor. Instead you wait for night to fall before you hold a chorus to sing a distant and welcoming song to the Stars and the Moon so they may be made aware of these events and their insight sung back.>The Moon's response>The moon's song is calm, relieving, a gentle hum that beckons forth, "The Deep Progenitor has told me so, you have the Elf; Release it. Do not be afraid, there's is no malignant intent- you will be made aware soon.">The Star's response>The Star's response is hushed, it's almost an unusual and unsettling silence before it's finally broken by a few, quiet, whispers. "Do not believe the Snake. We sleep." >The Hydra Mother Wants it.>Roll 5/20>Hydra Mother fumbles her Roll. The moon of the light and the night sky are obscured by a dark cloud that rolls in- only allowing a single spotlight to shine through the heavens before bending and giving way to the sensual curved form of a single "head" of one of the Hydra Mother's Maidens. She opens her arms to expose her bosom- opening up with her "knowledge" of the pod before you cut her off explaining you already knew that... and that the Stars told you to not believe "the snake". The Hydra maiden's light flickers and grows a little dimmer. She folds her arms against her chest, visibly embarrassed, she stutters "I-I don't suppose you'd want to give me the pod anyway?"
>>37453503>Make giant catapultto put the green elf pod back on the moon? sounds good.
>>37453646No offense snake-lady, we love you and your people but we're holding onto this for now.
>>37453646>"I-I don't suppose you'd want to give me the pod anyway?"I dunno.. DO you think we should?I think we've done enough to please the gorgons and their gods. This is for the Merfolk. And I dunno what use the hydramother would want with it. Maybe we should ask?
>>37453646Sorry, Hydra-sama. This elf needs to go home.If one of your daughters were lost in a strange land, wouldn't you want the people of that land to show kindness and return her to safety?

They grow further interest upon pontificating on the implications of Space travel, the consistent of space, and what they've learned previously on the two worlds. >+Primitive Concept of physics and further awareness of Space is developing>The Pod houses many implications about how the world and the cosmos works, and some old-translations of the weeping texts are cross-examined >very carefully<. The Astronomers wander off to their studies, it seems they have ideas.
>>37453765You know... we should have some of the moon touched mess with this thing? Be present when opening.
>>37453919Definitely a good idea. Well maybe a bad one, but still one we should do. Maybe have them check it out first
>>37453257>>37453277>Clear things up with the Manticore tribe and make friends.>roll 3/20, followed by 20/20>Initial Failure met with overwhelming Success: +Results, but not the one you may have wantedMEANWHILE, on the Mainland: The Manticore tribe continues to be a thorn in the side of steady and safe trade between the other two Gorgon Tribes and the Gorgon Empire. The Sage council thinks this looks like a job for "another" party- a much more well planned out party with food, drink, song, and gifts. The Manticore tribe is reluctant, but they do not shy away from a Dinner party. "Let us get drunk and make mistakes!"It somehow manages to go EVEN WORSE than last time. The Manticore Chieftain requested to bed one of the Younger Cyclopean Attendees- logically thinking that a Boy would be much safer to bed than a "fully grown" one. Her over enthusiasm has ended in her accidental death.By Manticore law, this boy 'would' have been Chieftain, but he is neither Gorgon, nore did he intend to kill the Chieftain. He is absolved of sin, the dead chieftain is declared "An unbelievable idiot" and the Manticore Tribe is now holding an "assassination tournament of mite, treachery, and mayhem" to decide who will be the new chieftain. The Boy remains frightened and traumatized by these events.
>>37454140Get him into counseling, the poor boy
>>37454140Thats.. We just killed a gorgon who leads a tribe of pillagers and rapist, with our dick. Strangely poetic
>>37454140Can members of the Dinosaur tribe or Cyclops Gorgon participate in the tournament of might, treachery, and mayhem?

>>37454177Surround him with big strong comforting cyclops women he has no fear of hurting and treat him to a good time with lots of sexytime untill he get better.now would be a good time to do something about he Manticore tribe in a peaceful way while they dont have a leader, but what do?
>>37453269>Research how to make milk, butter, cheese, etc., using elephant and peccary milk.>Roll 79/100>Success, +Odd Number 79, interesting results. While your domesticated elephants do produce Milk it is usually only drank by children and the elderly. An elephant typically nurses a calf for 2-3 years until it has another one, so there is no end to the Milk supply as calves are constantly being born.. but what to do with it?Elephant milk is very thick, rich, fatty, and fully of nutrients- it is used in stews, mashed with plantains to make "Banana milk" or mixed with Taro/plantain Flour to form a kind of sweet nutrient rich gruel to treat those suffering from Dysentery or to feed those who are simply old and toothless. >Cooking development: Cream & Butter invented>Butter, Cream, and Milk greatly improve and add a lot of variety to cooking allowing for a lot of interesting and especially delicious dishes. Though, despite your own peoples affinity for Dairy, Gorgons don't appear to have much tolerance for it as it upsets their tummies.
>>37454315>>37454342they then have assassins try kill them and take their place, Its a rather short term solution before someone wants to be ruler.
>>37454383well... peaceful way doesn't seem to be something the Manticore girls dig. I mean they're having MURDERGAMES in order to decide who should lead next... and while >>37454315 is an idea and would lead to this >>37454342 I worry if it is inline with cyclops morality.

>>37454964>>37454824All this is bringing back memories of that one cartoon with the mice telling the tale of how peace on earth came to be, mostly by man murdering itself to extinction.
Alrighty, final actions in coming.>Observe the Contests and Tournaments of mite, treachery, and mayhem.. from a safe distance. Try to offer cultural advice. >Idea Roll 54/100 >Action roll 17/20>Success, -The Manticore tribe does not recognize your Authority-.The Tournaments and Contests of mite, treachery, and mayhem are organized events only in name, as your people are soon quick to find out it is literally a constant internalized brawl of complete and total chaos as Gorgons try to one up another with daring and brazen actions or flat out murder one another in the most spectacular and artistic fashion. The Only "safe spot" is a section of their nomadic encampments where they hang the Totem of the Hydra Mother. A spot designated for eggs, children, guests, or those who otherwise do not wish to partake. They are malicious, not insane.Your Cyclopes emissaries view some of the most graphic, cruel, and horrific events of violence they have ever seen and the likes of which they would never speak of again. Such horrible, cruel, and innovative displays of killing that they blur the line between murder and art. Truly this is the height of the deep, depravities that lie within their viscous and Serpentine nature.
>>37455024Yes, that's kind of the idea I have for cyclops' legends of humans. The cyclops' are collectivist, pacifists, and focused on magic, while humans are individualistic, warlike, and focused on technology.Humans would basically serve as the antithesis of cyclops culture, but more in a warning sense. Of ambitions run amok.
>>37455043Manticore culture clearly needs to be eroded away.I say we retract support entirely and focus on defending spider and supporting dinosaur.
>>37455108They're so weird. They welcome us with open arms and everything, taking us to their feasts and shit. They just seem to be obsessed with Hurting eachother.
>>37455158>>37455056>>37455108You know how the dinosaur tribe emulates cyclops strength and prowess? What if thats the same thing with the other two? They all are emulating us in their own... weird way.Spider Gorgons are craftsmen, and the biggest group.Manticore could be the funloving and chill side of the cyclops, mixed with Old World Gorgon Maliciousness.
>>37455108I dont want them to be left to their own malicious devices to start fucking things up because we did nothing about them, but I also dont think they can be embraced as they are now. we need to find something to make them less bloodthursty without completly dismantling the tribes way of life completly. Just toning it down from crazy bloody murders to nobody dies or gets fucked up for life.Lets meddle in the afairs and the nature of others as little as possible. ask the hydra mother to get her kids to stop bein pricks maybe?although I gues so long as they keep the crazy shit to themselves and dont start going after other civs its not so bad.
>>37455270Institute non-lethal duels for supremacy and leadership?
>>37455043>The Cyclop Boy's Epilogue. >Afraid of women, afraid of touch, traumatized and frightened by his molester forcing herself upon him only to graphically spell her own demise through his molestation>...He stayed, stayed for his trial and stayed to watch them butcher one another numb to his surroundings.>He was approached by a Mother from the Tribe. An older woman, a more mature woman. Her touch was gentle, meticulous, defined by experience from her savage and murderous culture. She told him of death, she told him of rebirth, she absolved his guilt, his fears, in the soft embrace of her bosom and the soothing rattling of her snake hair.. >"My Sweet, my dear, sweet, child. With White hair like Bleached bones; your people remind me of eggs: innocent, but defined by promise and potential." She trails on, softly dragging the long predatorial talons of her nail to softly brush lines in flesh. "Everything dies so we may live, the Fungal wood is a pure expression of death, the sun dies each day so that we may all live, and the world was built upon the backs of dead and decayed gods- do not cry, my love, do not redden your beautiful eye with the sorrow of Death. Death is the ultimate act of charity." Her words are soft and warm, juxtaposing her cold, partially scaled embrace. >"The world is full of Dualities; there is no happiness without sadness, and the absence of ugliness creates beauty. A lizard can only receive heat if it's given it..do not feel guilty for the ones who let themselves be burned in the sun like a toad, my precious darling."
>>37455270maybe instead of killing one another we could have them become some sort of monster huntersor if they insist on killing in interesting ways, maybe they could become the greatest butchers in all the land!gorgons and cyclopes alike will come from far and wide to eat the thoroughly treated and expertly cut meats of the Manticore gorgons
>>37455312why you do this, i never asked for these feels
>>37455225Maybe they just need an outlet for their crazy little energetic bodies? Maybe they all got bored one day, started stabbing eachother, found it was better than sitting around and made it their culture. I wonder if we can change that focus to sports or if they would just make that all bloody aswell somehow. Fuck Mantas are crazy and were crazy for loving them anyway.
>>37455312>>37455225After this, I think it's clear they are emulating us, just from a warped perspective.>>37455329This could be a good idea. >>37455312Are we cracking the pod open?

>>37454506>>37454517>>37454544>Explore Beyond the Mountains and see what the World awaits us beyond.>Roll 18/20>Complete success Two teams are developed with mirroring goals: the exploration of the Wastes left behind by the Elves absence and sudden disappearance and the exploration of the Mountain range that borders the previously impassible lands. It takes months, local Gorgon Guides, and resources to make even the commute through the Fungal forest and it's many perils, but eventually your expedition party goes their separate ways: one goes to the Mountains, the other remains the in the waste. This is the Mountains Story:The Gorgons do not feel comfortable making the climb over the cold mountains and stay behind; it is steep, the air is thin, it is indeed pretty cold, and the area is mired with treacherous dangers in the form of unforeseen dangers: Flying reptiles known as Wyverns that seem to frequent and nest within the area.... but your party persists, and they are rewarded with a clear view and vision of the lands beyond. An unending dry land of grasses awaits- defined by gentle rolling hills easing in to a consistently flat land spotted with the movement of countless never before seen animals.
Ok so with the introduction of wyverns and giant beetles from the Fungal Forests, we can make flying units eventually. Gorgons ride wyverns, Cyclopes breed the beetle to grow large enough to carry them by latching onto their back as a sort of bio-jetpack.
>>37455574Fuck. Yes. Savahnnas. I can only imagine what lives here. >>37455621Honestly I was imagining the opposite. Gorgons riding flying beetles and cyclopses flying using wyverns as kites. It'd be like Up, except with more firebreathing lizards.
>>37455574Now all they need to do is a little exploring for a good place to set up a city, head back home with the info and we can prepare the planning for the city beyond the mountains.
>>37455731Yeah if they head for the coast they can set up a village/colony, that way they don't have to make like Hannibal and cross the mountains any time they need to get supplies or trade.
>>37455574So does the mountain separating the land go up and then down to reach the other side or is it up and then it evens off into much higher ground as a savanah?
>>37455312But did they fuck?
>Explore further into the Elven "Wastes" and the mysterious mound.>Roll 9/20>Failure. This is the Wastes Story:The Mound, The Tower, it's called many things, and understandable so as it can be seen for miles around by any Cyclop around, but disturbingly enough remains absent from the vision of the Gorgons accompanying you. It looks FAR closer than it actually is, as it's soon revealed to be much LARGER, much, MUCH larger than it actually is: A decrepit, mangled, shriveled up spire that looks as though it had been sucked out of all it's essence. The Cyclopes are relieved that the Gorgons cannot see the Tower as it's visage is honestly quite disturbing- the wrinkled imagery of some mummified organ? They however are not allowed to Study the tower at their leisure- upon coming into Contact with one of the Gorgon guides, the Tower momentarily comes to life and consume her; swallowing her whole and the rest of the team as they dive in to rescue her. The Party is channeled through a series of barely functioning ventricles before they are gently placed before the "core" of the tower deep below the earth. There, upheld and supported by numerous gruesome pulsing veins and tubes hung the grotesque amalgamation of an Elf left to waste away hooked up to some form of Organic.. plant.. device? The Entire feature beats with the beings Heart, it's eyes weakly alight at the sight of the Gorgon, but it's excitement can "barely" be contained when it see's the Cyclopes.Through such a soft, dry, and weakened voice, it whispers, "F-finally, t-they had left me.. The Progenitor took everyone but me.. I-I was so alone.. W-who would think, th-they would abandon me.. the s-sh-shs-ship...Irony-he-h" It tries to laugh, but it's breath comes out dry and heavy, "You've- a-ah, you've heard my call.. You've come to save me..!.." There is a insincere tone to her voice, it knows you cannot save it, but maybe it will not die alone. It cradles itself with it's thin arms and cries.

>Crack open the Pod. Release the Elf.Your Cyclopes do as they are told by the Merfolk and the Gods. The Pod is brought to the Arcanum and to an audience of the greatest minds your people have to offer.. the Sage council is also there. The Merfolk told them they would send assistance, but their "assistance" has yet to arrive and your people are worried upon the condition of the Elf within, they can wait no longer and administrative action is taken. The pod is allowed access to Freshwater and it seemingly comes to life: The chlorophyll becoming such a rich, healthy, and vivid bright green that it glows a dull light and the entire body begins to activate out of stasis while readily absorbing and expanding upon contact. The Fluids within the inside of the pod's womb-like chamber begin to churn, bubble, and quickly it too is revived with the visibly pumping of fluids and the steady audible sound of heart beat. The Pod when completely quenched takes shallow root within the floors of the Arcanum to steady it's opening: The "Seal" tears open, the fluids pour out, the Elf within the pod begins to gasp for air and expel fluids from it's mouth as it adapts to differences in pressure and slowly begins breathing oxygen once again. Your people are visibly shocked and grow concerned- they don't know many things, they start worrying if Elves actually BREATH or what they do.The Elf slowly rises, the pod relinquishes it's veins and tubes and reveal a specialized suit of vegetation. Gasping, coughing, and sputtering- nose and eyes running, it tries to gain some composure, It speaks a phrase over and over again in a language you don't understand before it slowly winces it's sensitive eyes open to the painful light and gains some context. (part 2 incoming)
>>37456224You know... maybe we can make friends with the ship elf.... You know... maybe she'll survive. maybe we can help her.
>>37456364You know... this makes me wonder if there are different kind of elves... Fungal Elves, Plant Elves, Meat Elves? Is this a Pea Elf? I elect Pea Elf as his/her name.
The Suit slowly forms a cover over the Elves face and once again it speaks in a now artificial and muffled voice, "Akalade of Aquis, Moon of planet Brud. 125th Division of her Majesty's royal Space force. Local Fauna, do not be alarmed- I come in peace." Before collapsing on his hands and knees- heavily breathing, adapting and adjusting to gravity, atmospheric content and pressure. He slowly rises back to his feet, whipping his bright teal hair from his sharp face and he says he repeats his resolved and finalized speech;"Private Akalade of the Moon Aquis. 125th Division of her Majesty's royal Space force. Local Fauna, do not be alarmed- I come in peace. Assigned to investigation and surveillance of the Death world; Brud, our moon's orbiting planet " He shivers, not quite adjusted to our world- and yet he still persist.Straightening out his quivering little body, raising his little elven arm within his thick padded suit- he invests all of his strength to offer a proper salute.

>>37456518Honestly them being interplanetary and scifi stage isn't that suprising they lived on an inhabitable moon with keen awareness of their orbiting twin.... Plus they're immortal.I think our major saving grace is that if elves come down here their techlevel plunges down. I mean back at the beginning of the civ we saw elves in viking long boats. by the time we next met them, they only had firearms. This world is untamed, and they are used to a comfort of a tamed modern one.
>>37456584>>37456506>Also, "death world"? What horrors have they noticed that we haven't?Isn't there a saying that people who live on a Death world, don't know they're living on a Death world? >>37456769>A Death world isn't "dead", a Death world is full of deadly things.Basically, Space Australia. Horrible, Horrible place, populated by fun loving people and dangerous animals.
>>37456773>>37456809>no it the saying means that while others would rate the planet as a death world the people living on it would it as normal and see a normal planet as really fucking goodThis guys gets it- it's a comparative term, not to be taken literally. I'm sorry for the confusion, I thought Warhammer/scifi fans had made it more familiar on here. >>37456826>Basically, Space Australia. >Horrible, Horrible place, populated by fun loving people and dangerous animals.100% correct, analogy.>>37456810>drawfaggotryI want a picture of the Three chieftains of the three Gorgon Tribes(Manticore, Spider, and Dinosaur) striking poses like the pillar men from Jojo's Bizzare adventure.
>>37456895>I want a picture of the Three chieftains of the three Gorgon Tribes(Manticore, Spider, and Dinosaur) striking poses like the pillar men from Jojo's Bizzare adventure. Was planning that anyways. Was wondering what poses or what scene to do anyways. Thanks for the inspiration glorious OP.
>>37456993>>37456895Otherwise what are some descriptions for how the Spider tribe and Manticore tribe look (or should I leave that to my own judgement?) I do know that Dinosaur Tribe are awesomely tattooed burly amazons. So thats a no brainer.
