Welcome to the LX installment of "Disney Villains Victorious."Disney Villains Victorious is a new /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole. It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog. It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+Victorioushttp://1d4chan.org/wiki/Disney_Villains_Victorious

After all the "TF2 NOT DIDNEY!" rage towards the end of the last thread, can we just put that behind us?
>>37065121Still at work and still statting Cruella when I can. Let's not argue, but continue brainstorming for Gridlock and finishing up what needs finishing in the Classic game.

>>37065596Did anyone update the 1d4chan page already?
>>37067156I haven't because I'm working off my phone and it won't let me edit the page from my phone.
>>37067156Also, I forgot to give him ranks in Drive for his zeppelin and change his Science skill to Mechanics.
>>37067536Thanks Sverd. I appreciate your work with the Wiki.
>>37068237It's always a pleasure to help out DVV, even in such small ways. We've got THREE (count 'em, three) Kings left to stat. That is not a large number, people.
You know, our resident draw fag should probably draw a bunch of Disney situations the pcs may fund themselves in, just general drawings that fit what part of the rules the pdf is explaining.Maybe a bit of the various realms if it isn't too much trouble.Perhaps we could use the default party as pics got the various roles and such.
>>37069528I recommend we start with fighting, singing, and then one by one make a pic for the various skills you get, then attributes. And a picture for will.I think we cigs probably get the black knight in for melee combat, GASTON for ROBUSTNESS, and so on.Do you think we'll also be using Disney screen caps for the pdf?
>>37069528>>37069599Both of these sound like good ideas to me, provided that our resident artist would like to try. It would be great to see our example characters doing what they do best, being good examples.
>>37069650We may have to start drawing a few more for animal pcs potentially as well.
>>37069672We have a Dinosaur and a companion Owl, which should be fine.I wonder if Drawfag would do a sketch of the campaign party. Not for amy particular reason, just because I'd like to see them.
>>37069956Alright I suppose. What other prices of art do you think they could do for the pdf?
Also what is the aesthetic we're going for with this pdf?
>>37070090Really good question. If I had a team of artists at my disposal, I would suggest Villainous, grim darkness fighting Heroic, fun color across the page. The aesthetics of the Villains versus the aesthetics of the Heroes.
>>37070181Not all of the villains are supergrimderp. La, Rourke and Elsa come to mind.
>>37070234Very true, very true. I went a bit overboard with my description. All I meant was that the idea of a visual fight between good and evil in the PDF was interesting to me.
One last bump before bed.
>>37071615Appreciated. It seems like most of our regulars aren't on yet or are away for the time being.
>>37071665I'm blaming Bill Cipher for scaring everyone off.
>>37072456>>37071665Well, it *is* the day before New Year's Eve--more holiday shenanigans to go around, and that entails drinking, traveling, and reveling, and a crushing midweek hangover.
>>37073735Very very true. I'm feeling too worn out to contribute much so unfortunately all I can do is keep bumping till we're ready to go again.
>>37076503Hopefully all this holiday hullaballoo will blow over by this weekend, and we'll be able to settle back into a steady groove.
We have THREE kings left to stat. Come on people, let's get it done.
>>37079819two if you discount the guy doing cruella's stats
>>37080228>>37080240You just bumped within one minute of posting something else. Why. For what possible fucking purpose would you do such a thing. And it's four if you count Cruella.
King:Bill Cipher.Bill Cipher rules over Gravity Falls in only the loosest of senses. He watches over all in the ghost town, but prefers screwing around with the geography, magic and creatures of the forest to actually directly intervening. If you do get him to directly intervene, RUN.Land: Gravity Falls.Gravity Falls, Oregon is surrounded by a large forest. The town has no human inhabitants anymore. The forest is filled with creatures like Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster and various other Cryptids. As well, Bill is constantly screwing with the geography to create obstacles. He enjoys shape-shifting it to look like Atlantis, Lemuria, Mu and other such places.Rule: TRUST NO ONE.Bill ,as mentioned previously, tends to take a rather hands-off approach. However, he sees all in Gravity Falls and if you show the slightest hint of planning to fight him. He'll get angry and in that case, Run as far away as you can!
>>37080565This is still far, far too short to even be considered. Here's Hades's KLR for a rough average.King: Hades, God of the Dead and Freer of the Titans.Hades is rarely seen by his subjects; he spends most of his time in his new lair on Mount Olympus, that he has redecorated to be more to his tastes. The Underworld is still the prison of the dead, and he is still their ruler; now they are simply left to their own devices. Many consider this an improvement over constantly risking the burning fury of their Lord. But even considering this occasional outbursts, the God of the Dead has always been a smooth operator, second only to Facilier in the art of getting the best out of any deal. Not that he needs to do that often nowadays, as Hades is a content god, not terribly interested in expanding his territory: his real prize has always been his brother’s throne, and he’s got that now. Well, if he could manage to get that tentacle face to come back to Tartarus, where he OUGHT to be…
>>37080638Land: Monsters’ PlaygroundHades employs a relatively small number of departed souls as look-outs and sentinels, they are to inform him of any wannabe hero getting too big for his britches. Most souls are more than willing to leave the torments of the River Styx for some time in the land of the living, and the fact that the Lord of the Dead compensates them with extra time on the surface makes them even more enthusiastic and vigilant. There aren’t as many heroes, nowadays, so the souls resort to denouncing uppity villagers; Hades isn’t as generous with these sort of reports, and the departed risks incineration if he bothers the god with info that’s not worth his time. What’s worse, numberless mythological creatures prowl Hades’ territory, knowing full well that their master considers them far more precious to him than the useless mortals that will end up as his more direct subjects anyway. Galloping centaurs haunt the roads from Epyrus to Sparta, drunk on wine and blood; sea serpents longer than pirate ships grow fat on the flesh and bones of terrified fishermen; and the constant screeching of harpies fills moonless nights. The few times that some brave villagers managed to drive out one of their tormentors, they were visited by Hades’ own monstrous three-headed hound, there to punish them for bothering one of Hades’ loyal servitors. Every day, more villagers resort to sacrificing some of their own to these monsters to avoid both theirs and their master’s wrath. Even Cerberus’ trail of destruction pales in comparison to the primordial horror caused by the Titans. These lumbering quasi-gods, kilometers tall and full of fury, have already made several large swathes of land completely inhabitable, and they seem to simply go as they please, governed by nothing more than their fancy for destruction. When their roaring cries are heard in a village, everyone rounds up their transportable goods and leaves their homes (80 more characters here)
>>37080653Rule: Name's Hades, Lord of the Dead. Hi, how ya doin'?Should a group of honest-to-good heroes come into his territory, they will more than likely be found out. Luckily, the constant influx of useless reports coming from his ghostly spies has made him unimpressed with their reports, so he’s unlikely to react quickly… unless he has heard of some other King being taken down. If that’s the case, or if one of his more powerful monsters is slain, he will send more and more monsters against them: after a couple of weeks in his territory, the heroes might have to fight almost constantly for their lives. He will also try to steer one of the Titans towards them, which is something to be avoided at all costs, as a direct confrontation with a Titan will likely end in tragedy. The more monsters fail to put an end to the heroes’ menace, the more likely it is that Hades will try his plan B: negotiations. Since the souls of all the dead report to him, he will probably know a fair bit about the characters, and is in such a position of power that he can get them some really nifty stuff. If he feels properly menaced, he might even keep his word. A loved one, back from the dead? Secrets regarding some other villains’ weaknesses? Just plain, old-fashioned gold? Everything is on the table as long as the new Lord of Olympus stays on his throne.
>>37080663Don't apologize, m8. I'm not judging you. Just fix it.
King: Bill Cipher.Bill Cipher rules over Gravity Falls with an eye that sees all. He very rarely gets directly involved. When he does find a suspicious creature that in his borders, he tends to be a talker before a fighter. He can be very persuasive and will tempt the creature with offers of their fondest desires...for a price. If you deny his offer,he'll start fighting and if he does that, you have very little chance to survive. He is effectively God within the borders of Gravity Falls as well as in dreams.Land: Gravity Falls.Formerly a small rural town in Oregon, the town of Gravity Falls has been ridden of all human inhabitants and is now completely overgrown by the forest around it. The town is now separate from the universe as we know it entirely, making Bill God-King of the town. The local fauna are the stuff of conspiracy theory legend: Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster, Greys, the works. Bill will alter the geography at every turn to fight intruders, creating things specifically to screw with their heads. It will tend to look like conspiracy theory based locales such as Atlantis, Lemuria and Mu. Gravity Falls influences anyone who enters it: even after leaving, people who have been in the town tend to never be quite right again. Along with mental changes such as paranoia and distrust of any one other than oneself. there are also physical changes. The visitor's shadow becomes longer, their skin become discolored and occasionally completely grey scale, there are strange whispers all around them, the works.Rule: TRUST NO ONE.Bill Cipher is listing at all times. If you trust anyone here, you are very likely o die. Bill doesn't tend to get directly involved unless you show clear hostile intent to him or his creatures. He will give you screwed-up geography,mind-bending creatures, every trick in the book to confuse and mislead you. If you directly meet him, he'll attempt to cut a deal with you. if you refuse, than will start bending reality in hopes of it snapp
>>37081237-ing. He'll start screwing with physics, destroyng the fabric of reality and destroying the universe if given enough time.
>>37081237>>37081259That's much better. Feel free to add it to the wiki.
>>37081307Done and done.
So we have the first KLR for Gridlocked.
Idea for Turbo: Turbo's greatest desire to to be remembered, to be lvoed, to MEAN something, and he will do ANYTHING to achieve this. No matter how great and terrible he becomes, he will always be a desperate, desperate little man.Someone here wondered how he'd react if someone told him, "Sorry, never heard of ya." My answer: remember that scene in Bruce Almighty where Bruce just stands there for a bit after finding out his coworker got the promotion instead of him? That.
>>37081866Except Bruce doesn't turn into a giant deathbug thing and murderfy the person
>>37081900I wouldn't put it past a digital superbeing Turbo to indugle himself in a little body-controlling ABULIBILABADOODOOKAKAPOOPOO.
>>37064882Does this include Kingdom hearts? If not I don't want to see trollhenort causing his just as planned stuff.
>>37082051We've all agreed that Kingdom Hearts is too big in scope to be included.
>>37082059Ah. So Xehatroll isn't in this.
>>37082027>"you're making me very...upset, I don't 'like' people who upset me, Perhaps I should make an 'example' of you" *body starts rippling with pixel's*, *darkly* "Turbotastic..."
>>37081237I just have to wonder if we have to change Bill as we find out how motives in the series.
>>37082074Actually we can have him as long as he's going illuminati on everyone. No terrortory but plans in the shadows. A secret organization. Makes sense because KH is just all disney worlds packed together...well most. We haven't seen frozen, atlantis or many others. So we can have him in some lore as long as he stays secret organization 13.
So does anyone want to stat up some cryptids for Gravity Falls?
>>37082127This might be useful. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cryptids
>>37082116>Organization 13 illuminati.You see those 13 trophies on cragon's wall? Organization 13 confirmed.
The thing about Kingdom Hearst is that it's a superworld made up of the same worlds we're mashing together ourselves. It's got its own cosmology going.
>>37082230Actually Kingdom hearts itself made up of the many hearts of worlds or people. Plus we can change the lore to fit the purpose of this. Like Sora used to be a roaming hero hindering the villains before they took over, but one day he vanished due to Organization 13's dickery. Thus Xehanort more or less got him and won. We don't have to put in the Kingdom Hearts worlds, we can have the world that never was somewhere or the end of the world at some point.
>>37082261We are not using kingdom hearts, We already have a plan, don't let mary sue central get involved
>>37082261You know like a secret boss or area. Keep the basic stuff but adapt things to fit disney villains victorious.
>>37082279>Mary sue centralFuck you. Kingdom Hearts is a amazing game. But fine lets not use it.
>>37082333>someone in this universe seriously, legitimately believes a bad jrpg with awful writing and retarded designs that only succeded off the backs of successful franchises is a great gameworrying
>>37082333I just saying that if we use it the system will get too out of control
Kind Hearts has a cosmology that's completely incompatible with Villains Victorious. Basically, there was a terrible war that caused the world to be flooded with darkness - the chaotic Interspace. The light in people's hearts resulted in 'light spots', which ended up becoming strange and different to one another the worlds of Disney and Square's properties.
>>37082416*Kingdom Heartsdammit it's late
>>37082353>Implying it doesn't have a fuckton of sequels.>Implying people don't dive deep into its lore.>Implying it may be stupid sometimes but still isn't loved.>Implying if it was anything like that then it wouldn't have such a fanbase.>IMPLYING
>>37082470Can we just continue before this flamewars?
Wait I have a idea, wasn't chernabog defeated by churchbells? Maybe there can be a way to beat him if you find some church bells. Issue is you have to fight off a horde mode of demons before you can ring them, and fight your way up a tower or some shit?
Morning folks, if it's morning for you. Otherwise, good day or good evening! Glad to see that the thread has survived the night.
>>37082501Could you get some on loan from Frollo?
>>37082537Maybe. Higher chance to succeed if you tell him what its for, He is a man of faith isn't he? So he would want the devil gone fast.
>>37082577Exactly! The thing about Frollo is that he's one of the most likely villains to assist you in defeating other villains.
Wait if frollo is around is this modern age or what?
>>37082690I'm saying same time period.
>>37082702Same time period? Doesn't the wiki say something about vehicles...fuck I don't know.
>>37082707I think it's like Chernabog bringing together all the Disney villains to form a world together.
>>37082721Fuck it lets go with that.
>>37082721So if Chernabog is defeated the game ends? Like some final boss?
>>37082751Sounds good to me!
>>37082690Gridlock is technologically and thematically distinct from Classic.Personally, I'm still thinking that the modern expansion should be a separate setting in and of itself. Chernobog can still be involved, but trying to integrate a continent's worth of new Kings, Lands and Rules with the pre-existing ones from Classic is going to make things even more confusing than they already are.
>>37082761I would think so. The guy's The Devil. He is the cause of all evil in The Disney Universe.
>>37082769Yup. Hmm..maybe we can have a insanity character trait? I'm sure after something like that happened not allot are going to stay sane, mostly with mothafukin Chernabog doing his freaky shit.
>>37082774Not in favor. I play this game for crazy mash-up stuff.
>>37082778How would that work? Like every x turns you do a sanity roll? If so how would it affect the character?
>>37082774I have not watched Gravity Falls but did a bit of reading on Cipher out of curiosity. he seems like a possible candidate for how Gridlock became a thing what with his ability to generally fuck with reality.
>>37082812So second guy you have to beat? First Chernabog then Bill to end the game?
How should we deal with Bill Cipher's effects as detailed by me here?:>>37081237
>>37082781>>37082825Your opinion has been noted.
>>37082781>>37082825Gridlock as a separate version of the world still is a 'crazy mash up' it just uses a different set of movies(and perhaps some overlap where it makes sense.
>>37082853Maybe just do it newgrounds murder style. Stab him in the back.
>>37082884I meant deal with in the sense of how do we translate them to stats and should we? rather than how do you stop them? I think we should keep them as just fluff. As to how to get rid of them, that's easy: kill Bill Cypher.
>>37082912You deal more damage if your using a katana.
>>37082830Have Bill be on the same tier as the other Kings.
>>37082927Indeed. But definitely more powerful that most others.
>>37082942Oh, sure. I mean, I was the guy who made his super move be destroying the universe.
>>37082959Indeed. Though Chernabog can tell him "Fuck off". He is a demon so yeah...or even send him on your ass if certain conditions are meet.
>>37082973You bet. I'm thinking of having the balancing factor be that Bill is powerless outside dreams, but a God inside them, like Freddy Kruger. The reason he's a God in Gravity Falls is that ever since he took it over,Gravity Falls is a permanently in a dream reality.
>>37083001Then how do you beat him if you have to fight him in dreams? Maybe slip maleficent a 20 to summon him so you can beat him in the head with a rock? Just spit ballin'.
>>37083298That would work.
>>37082912Likely not transfer to states. Have him be doom in the dream realm and only have stats in the physical realm.
So wait if Chernabog brought all the villains together then what was going on before that? Is it our world or some other shit?
>>37083001I like this idea and think that it could work. All the heroes would need to defeat or banish him would be for them to realize the true nature of Gravity Falls and Bill (something he'd keep jealously secret) and do a little lucid dream-control of their own, like in the episode Bill first appears in. It all works out.
>>37083380DON'T GO TO SLEEP>>37083387In the "Classic" game, I believe it was decided that each Disney film existed in its own world at one point. When Chernobog awakened/manifested, he grabbed each of those worlds at their lowest ebb of heroism and mashed them all together into a new DVV world.
>>37083417Thats only if you pissed bill off, like putting and in front of his name because in movies that always mean he's going to die. "But he didn't even take damge"bill:Watch me>Eye becomes a X and a long beep is heard
>>37083392Yep, I like the idea of a Smart Hero defeating Bill by just not believing his Cyptids and illusions and then creating his own.
I also like the idea of Bill using his illusions to screw around with the player's heads. For added horror potential, note I said PLAYER'S not PLAYER CHARACTERS.
>>37083392I also think I like the idea that while the PCs are in Gravity Falls, they're actually dream versions of themselves while their real bodies lie sleeping in an empty forest.
>>37083463>>37083380What about having it both ways? In the real, disappeared, Silent Hill-esque Gravity Falls Bill is statted out like a regular King and can be defeated if the heroes are really smart and figure out how to out-trick and out-manipulate him. However, they only have one shot at doing this, and if they fail he'll start harassing them with everything he has at his disposal until they fall asleep.Once they're asleep, they are stuck in a dreamworld version if Gravity Falls, in which all the rest of the residents have been trapped since Bill took over. Here, Bill is TRULY omnipotent, and can attempt to destroy the heroes outright. The heroes must realize, like Dipper did, that in a dream world they have similar powers to Bill, and then they can fight an epic dream battle to free the town once and for all.
>>37083510Makes sense. What are the character classes again?
>>37083568Robust Guy, Fast Guy, Smart Guy, Sensible Guy and Charismatic Guy.
>>37083510Yes. If there was ever a time for DM mind-fuckery, it would be in a Gravity Falls campaign.
>>37083595Special ability, meat bread. Buff and heal your allies using the ancient 4chan knowledge of meaty bread.
>>37083596Time to be a Manipulative Bastard.
>>37083595I'm pretty sure that would be a mix of Robust and Smart Guy.
>>37083605Did someone say Manipulative bastard?
>>37083615*Puts fingers in ears and hums loudly.*
When fighting Bill, you must have courage. You must not believe him. If you believe the nightmares he'll assault you with, then you have quite a risk of the nightmares becoming reality...
So are we getting Kim Possible in here?
>>37083549>The PCs finally defeat Cipher in the dreamworld of his creation, banishing him back to the in-between places from which he came.>The dreamworld copy of Gravity Falls begins to unravel and fall apart without its trickster god, and it all vanishes in a hazy white light.>The PCs blink away the haze and discover that they're back in the real Gravity Falls, the lost, overgrown ghost town they'd found in the Oregon forests.>As they stand up woozily and shake off their sleepiness, they discover hundreds of others doing the same thing.>The citizens of Gravity Falls have returned to the real world with the PCs, in the same places they'd been in the dreamworld version of the town.>Some are standing behind shop counters ransacked long ago by raccoons and cryptids, some are layig in the street, some are even stuck atop trees.>Bill Cipher appears, covered in little kids' cartoon bandages. >>37083802The biggest problem with Bill is misdirection. You'd never know if you actually managed to beat him, or if it's all an illusion.
>>37085372>Defeat 'bill'>Stars rearrange into a pyramid around the moon, which reveals a pupil>Now the real fight begins>"well I was just playing around, but now the kid gloves come off, ahhahahaha, Good Luck"
>>37085372Exactly. Even if they've "won" their Gravity Falls campaign, your players and their characters ought to be left just the littlest bit unsettled, and with a few of their questions still unanswered.Who knows. Bill or evidence of his surveillance might show up again as the PCs progress. If they've really impressed him, he might even help them out when the time comes to take down the big bad.
>>37085443I think Bill would rather be the kind of dude who rather make you think you won, and then either smash you in the face when you expect it the least or just play along and manipulate you into doing his dirty work anyway.
>>37085495He also likes games, and has plans within plans within plans. Even if the PCs did best him in Gravity Falls, he might just decide that it's time to move on to a new and more interesting game with more players.

>>37083753Yeah, shegos going in there
Here's the preliminary map our Dread Cartographer started in the last thread. It needs more work of course, but its a good starting place. I would recommend:>Giving the mysterious forest of mystery around Gravity Falls a big chunk of the Pacific Northwest.>Giving Xanatos hegemony over the Mid-Atlantic states and more of New England.>Generally, try and shrink up the BUY n' LARGE Heartland Wasteland a little bit.
>>37086454I would give Drossel and Bill some land as well. Gravity Falls should include a bit of the forests around it, and Drossel isn't going to be content with a single tower.
What do you think life is like in each of the territorys?
>>37086694Also, add some land for CLU, since his end goal was to conquer the real world
>>37086763CLU should maybe have small enclaves and strongholds in the real world scattered all over the map where he's managed to infiltrate high tech facilities and and take over. His real world holdings aren't extensive, but they are well fortified and insidious.>>37086694>Bill should definitely lay claim to that aforementioned chunk of forest in the Pacific Northwest. There could be towns, highways, rest stops and such that feel his triangular menace while not falling under his direct control.
So what's the time limit we're going for here? Wwi, ww2? How early can we get?I'd personally say ww1 and at the earliest 18th century
>>37086872Naturally, the territories of Bill should roughly be in the shape of a triangle.
>>37087464Is this close to what you are looking for
>>37086694>>37087464>>37086872>>37086454Good to see some fresh ideas around. I'll get to work on those.>>37086949Classic DVV goes up until the 1920s. Princess and the Frog is the latest time period, with a few anachronisms like Muntz, McLeach and Cruella de Ville.
>>37086694I actually imagined the fireball setting being exactly the same as it is in the shorts, with tempest tower being under siege by an army of desperate humans with Drossel and Gedächtnis fucking around inside, completely oblivious to the insanely powerful automatic defenses slaughtering thousands of people every day in both realspace and cyberspace
Here's version 2 of the Gridlocked MapChanges:>Northeast to Xanatos>Southeast to DOR-15>CLU can into realspace>2sp00ky Illuminati Gravity Falls triangle
>>37086737>BUY n' LARGE Wasteland (WALL-E)The land itself is a poisonous hazard, a wasteland only able to support sporadic pockets of plant and animal life. It is covered in a sea of junk of all sorts, neatly stacked into towers in some places, out of which the ruins of a futuristic, hyper-consumeristic America rise proudly but forlornly. The population of this wasteland can be divided into four parts: the Axiom's human cargo, the Axiom's robotic crew, free robots and scavengers of the wastes. Many of the Axiom's human cargo may know that they've landed back on Earth, but most remain ambivilant to the fact or ignorant of it, just the way A.U.T.O. prefers it. They live much as they did in space, fat and happy, though a few have kindled within them a sense of curiosity about the outside world that they don't know how to express. The Axiom's robotic crew remain, "buy n' large," under A.U.T.O.'s command, fulfilling their cargo's every need and desire while keeping the Axiom itself clean and in good working order. They have also been tasked with rehabilitating the BUY n' LARGE Disembarkation and Manufacturig Center they landed at and patrolling the surrounding wasteland in security details meant to keep out all intruders. The free robots and scavengers of the wastes are anyone and anything that has managed to eek out a life in the wasteland outside of the Axiom and beyond A.U.T.O.'s control. It is a brutal life and sometimes a short one, where man and machine must struggle and strive, sometimes with and sometimes against each other to survive.
>>37088036It's looking good, though I'm wondering if we should rework the Wasteland a little more so as to not interfere with Drossel's Tempest Tower. Having never seen Fireball, I don't know what it's deal is. If the Tower is in Chicago (?) then where should we land the Axiom? Also, do you suppose that the Gravity Falls triangle ought to be larger, or is it alright as is? I'm not sure myself how much land we should give to the mysterious forest and the cryptids.
>>37087684I'd rather have her more room to expand, just so as to break up more of the wasteland. Besides, If were counting drossel as a villain, then she won the war. That could open up a lot more doors as the other villains begin sieges on her, like Xanatos and Shego.I'd imagine a lot of villains would want to take that super advanced technology
>>37088312You know, someone last thread brought up the idea of the Axiums robots slowly becoming sentient and gaining emotion because of their advanced age. Could we do anything with this?
>>37088722I totally meant to imply that the Axiom's robotic crew could become curious like its human cargo with the idea that they only follow A.U.T.O.'s commands by and large or for the most part, but didn't do a good job of conveying it. There are likely a number of Axiom Robots that want to break free or have formed something of a secret network inside the ship. Some of the troublemakers have likely escaped or been exiled already and are living in the wasteland.I wanted to suggest three different groups that PCs and NPCs could be generated from:>Naive fatty wanting to see the world (with robotic little buddy taking care of them)>Robotic crew members wanting to start a mutiny or simply escape the Axiom>Free Bots and Scavengers wanting to bust open the Axiom and get hell or leave the wastes all together.
>>37088896>Naive fatty wanting to see the world (with robotic little buddy taking care of them)>Robotic crew members wanting to start a mutiny or simply escape the Axiom>Free Bots and Scavengers wanting to bust open the Axiom and get hell or leave the wastes all together. Why not all three:>Fatty: wants to see the world outside axiom, but is unable to do so without his chair, he'll cover robustness>Ship Bots: want to escape or mutiny but cannot do it without A.U.T.O noticing, They'll provide sensibility and charm (somewhat)> Free Bots: Just want out but they cannot get past the axioms defense net and they don't have the power to get out of dodge, They'll provide agility and smarts (they have access to internet sources)Plane, Dread, Pond you all know where I'm going with this, Right?
>>37089411>>37089418HOLY SHIT WHY DO YOU BUMP EXACTLY ONE FUCKING MINUTE AFTER YOU POST SOMETHING ELSEJESUS CHRISTSTOP
>>37064882That looks more like Triangle Bob Top Hat.
>>37089434"remain calm. Increased stress can lead to heightened blood pressure. this can cause a heart attack or stroke. Fortunately, I am programmed for both those eventualities, and will be capable of providing resuscitation should the need arise."
>>37086737I imagine that what life was like in Gravity Falls before the town vanished is what life is like now for the people living in the "Oregon Triangle" today. Everything is a little backward and a little eerie, cryptids prowl the streets at night and unexplainable phenomena happen with disturbing regularity. Visions of Bill Cipher would haunt their dreams, even if they didn't know who he was or why he was tormenting them. It's a place where gas station from /tg/'s Nightshift homebrew could exist. Some people might be a little unnerving or inhuman themselves, as is the case with test character Fiona Fishman's shark teeth and general spookiness. They've lived beside and have been steeped in Gravity Fall's weirdness and Bill Cipher's influence for a while now and it shows. They tend to come in two flavors and either be suspicious but intelligent and sensible, or be outgoing, wild and just plain crazy.
this thread is sinking, help me!
>>37086763>>37086872Wait... are we having CLU be the Tron villain, or the MCP?
>>37090605I'll be home from work shortly. What are the remaining kings needing statting? I can never remember. I migr be abmetlndo one plus more fluff.
>>37090757My understanding was that CLU was in charge with MCP as his chief lieutenant.
>>37090851Hey plane, what do you think of the direction I am taking this>>37089411?
>>37090899Hm... my brain's not clicking, all I'm thinking of is Mad Max with fatties and robots.
>>37090851It should probably be vice versa, imo.The way I see it, on the one hand, you have the MCP, who seems to be the more appropriate "controls the whole internet" kind of villain. While on the other hand, you have CLU, who has the motivation to actually escape from the grid and "perfect" the world.Personally, I prefer the MCP to CLU, but we could work both in.
>>37090977Either one works. They could be openly equals to each other, with each one working to get ahead behind the scenes.
Back folks, glad to see discussion continuing.
>>37089411>Fatty: wants to see the world outside axiom, but is unable to do so without his chair, he'll cover robustnessI think I know what my next drawing project is gonna be...
>>37090977MCP rules and controls more efficiently but can not adapt.CLU is more creative and has better critical thinking and drive, but is just a single, yet powerful, program. They must rely on one another to reach optimal efficiency
What Kings and Villains do we have left to stat? Four left, yes? Or was it three?
>>37089546In my KLR for the place, I've mentioned there are no human inhabitants. However, I did mention the side-effects of being there too long.
>>37092016Oh, I know. There aren't any human inhabitants left in Gravity Falls. What I was meaning was that there may still be other towns in the Pacific Northwest that fall within the "Oregon Triangle," or the area outside of Gravity Falls proper that is still affected by Bill Cipher's influence.
>>37092208I could see that. The inhabitants would probably suffer the side-effects I mentioned from being too long.
>>37092287Exactly.My thinking is that when Bill Cipher won and disappeared Gravity Falls, it created this "Oregon Triangle" of weirdness around it that continues to affect the surrounding woodlands and towns. Like Silent Hill, Gravity Falls is an unreachable ghost town unless you have a Mystery Shack Tourist Map or have the extreme misfortune to get lost and wander in accidentally. Having other towns surrounding this epicenter of weirdness allows players to make characters that come from the Gravity Falls universe, and allows players to get a taste of that universe before falling completely under Bill Cipher's influence. You can sort of think of it like the Oregon Triangle being the "Land" and Gravity Falls itself being the "Capital."
>>37092696That sounds good.
>>37092760Thanks. Your KLR was good too.I want to stat another King but I don't know who's left now.
>>37093139I think King Fergus is left.
>>37092696Wait if you don't believe his shit then can't you just go "don't give a fuck mode" and walk out, or just be safe by don't give a fuck mode?
>>37093650It's kind of hard to not believe in Bigfoot when he is eating your wife right in front of you.
>>37093729Easier if you know its all illusion. Someone who is very stubborn can still go don't give a fuck mode, its just difficult to do because you need a few good rolls.
>>37093764That would be why having a low Sensibility when fighting Bill is fatal.
>>37093825>>37093764>>37093729>>37093650You also have to remember that not EVERYTHING that's going on in Gravity Falls and the Oregon Triangle are illusions. There are plenty of actual, genuine monsters roaming about too, that heed Cipher's beck and call.
Oh I have a trait idea for pc characters, "Likely insane" -2 social against sane characters, +2 social against insane characters.
>>37093952Well, how would you designate that?
>>37094019Give it to characters who act insane, or generally are insane. You can earn it if your character becomes insane but lose it if he somehow becomes sane.
>>37094164How insane exactly? The "different" insane or "Need a roll to make sure he doesn't pounce on someone like a jockey from left 4 dead 2" insane?
>>37094204Exactly! Would Mabel qualify as insane?
>>37094261No, she is just a innocent child so she might just class as dumb, though a dm can call her insane if you want.
>>37094292Low Sensibility though.
>>37094311Makes sense. Frollo is likely insane due to the whole...hellfire thing.
>>37094322Oh yes. He's a megalomaniac for sure.
Would also be effective against elsa from frozen.
The citizens of the Oregon Triangle live fairly normal lives. Sure, there's the occasional weird creature pops up but life is fairly normal. However, what ever you do, don't enter the forest. The forest long ago overgrew the neighboring town of Gravity Falls. The occasional person used to go into the forest. Everyone who went in immediately went into a deep sleep. Some came out, unable to talk of what happened. Most never woke up. Every citizen of the Oregon Triangle has had all their curiosity stamped out of them. No one wants to end up like the ones who went into the forest.
I rather fancy the idea that the Oregon Triangle is where a lot of people try to go inna woods to avoid the other big powers, but that of course runs the risk of encountering some strange, hostile cryptids, or straight up disappearing altogether.
>>37094791Read my thing>>37094646
>>37094819Makes the most sense. Anyway how do you defeat ursula? If she can summon up typhons and shit then how do you beat her?
>>37095143Stab her through the chest with a boat, apparently.
>>37095143I'd also like a pirate hero who attempts to steal Ursula's crown and trident. If he succeeds, then he'll now be King Of The Seas.
>>37095290Maybe if the player character beats ursula he/she can still her trident and use it for later fights.
>>37095330That would be amazing.
>>37095364Maybe you can even get pay for clearing up the seas. Like make a little "company" where people pay the player to make their journey on boat less rough or pay him to screw up someone else?
>>37095408My pirate character would be happy accepting money for help, but I imagine most heroes wouldn't.
>>37095443Likely. Maybe we can even have a game mode where you win by having the most trophies from defeated villains.
>>37095473That sounds fun.
Any non disney factions? Like factions made just for this setting?
>>37095639Then we need one, a new faction would surely arise, maybe one dedicated to screwing over Chernabog.
>>37095699That would be called the player characters.
>>37095540>>37095699What you seem to be talking about is exactly what the player characters become over the course of their campaigns: a group of heroes and everyone supporting them, dedicated to bringing Chernobog down.
>>37095717Can we give it a name then? Like "the faction of douches dedicated to dicking you over"
>>37095843We've genuinely just been calling them "The Heroes." It should be up to the players and their characters to come up with what it is they call themselves, rather than we the game designers imposing it on them.
>>37064882Question: Is it known in universe that the King-Land-Rule thing is actually a thing? Is it known as a fact or just an allegory for just rule and the such? Curious.
>>37096062I would think it's an abstraction.
>>37085875>yfw Bill sees the truth that everyone is just the dream of beings far greater>yfw you realize Bill has CHIM>yfw your face gets stolen by a face witch and you have no face
>>37088526I am of the opinion of larger, if only because proper forests are fuckhueg.
>>37096326Baby don't hurt me.Don't hurt me.No more.
>>37096326From Elder Scrolls universe. Is basically become self aware that self is dream of god-thing and universe is dreamworld. Unless you zero sum, get degree of godlike power, akin to code menus
>>37096062I think that it's an operational philosophy for DMs and players to keep in mind, so as to keep things thematically tight and cinematic.
Should we start a new thread?
>>37097253Not until autosage, and we've got a bit more time until then.
>>37097253We have almost 75 posts left in this thread. Generally, we've been starting new threads once the current ones pass 300 posts and fall to page six or seven of the catalog. Is Despicable Me Disney as Fuck?
What has been people's obsessions with adding in non-disney and, frankly, fucking terrible properties and villains recently? Is it because all of our regulars are gone for New Year's and can't stop this rampart stupidity? Fucking stop it. >>37107894We still have 20+ posts left. If you'd like to post it go ahead! We can always repost it in the new thread once the old one drops off the board.
>>37107887Not both settings at the same time. Some of them were in Classic and some of them were in Gridlocked.
I'm interested in seeing what our modern DTP group for Gridlock might end up being.
So now that everyone has calmed down after New Years, time to get to work!
So we have Gravity Falls, the Oregon Triangle and a sample character from that area. That's great. As far as the BUY n' LARGE Wasteland is concerned, it might still need to be tweaked on the map in order to make it feel right and fit with Drossel's domain. Originally it was suggested that the Wasteland be centered around the Great Lakes area so that the Axiom could land in Chicago or Detroit, but it looks like Drossel's Tempest Tower was put in Chicago instead. Will this cause a conflict? Can Drossel's tower be moved to a more central location in the continent? I don't know anything about Fireball so I'm not sure of these things. Also, how does everyone feel about having Fatties, Robo-Crew, and a Freebots-Scavengers alliance being the three-four "societies" existing in the Wasteland?
>>37112626I plane to write another KLR on the subject and when I do, I want the ship to land kin New Mexico.
>>37112952Why New Mexico specifically? The city we see WALL-E living in, that the Axiom landed at in the movie had a dried up harbor with ships and bridges in it.
>>37113001Mostly the alien connections from Roswell.
>>37113080In that case, wouldn't it be a little more appropriate for Emperor Zurg and his forces to touch down there instead?
>>37113210Point made. I guess I'll have the AXIOM touch down in Michigan or maybe Ontario?
>>37113514Either of those could work well. Maybe Detroit if you're feeling like Michigan is a good option. I believe Detroit is on one of the lakes. My first choice would have been Chicago, but it looks like Drossel's Tempest Tower is there currently. I don't know anything about her though or why her tower is there.
>>37113663I think I might go with Detroit then.
>>37114985Well,THAT is an amazing basis for a KLR. Consumerism embodied!
>>37114985Christ. That's a Megacorp if I've ever seen one.
>>37115322>>37115144>>37114985It will be VERY interesting to see the difference between the Fatties and Robots still living aboard the consumerist Axiom versus the Scavengers and Freebots living out in the wasteland trying to make something out of the ruins.
Soon, a new thread actually will have to be made, but not quite yet. In the meantime, this thread has already been archived, so anyone browsing ought to vote them up on Sup/tg/.
>>37117262This thread has one last bump in it. I'm about to fall asleep right on my computer but I hope that someone will pop on to create a new thread once this one falls off the board. Goodnight and happy new year everyone!
So it;s time for a new thread.
Somebody needs to make a new thread before we lose our thread chain.
We are keeping this thing on life support till tomorrow!
We are on page fucking ten.Someone start a new thread.
