So, D&D is an ancient succession of kingdoms, WoD is a nation majorly consisting of supernaturals pretending to be sneaky and subtle, while the few normal humans, who of course know all about them, just facepalm and continue on with their everyday lives, while the Exalts in the next valley just spend all their time beating each other up. Neckbeards are lone wanderers, worth seeking out for their wisdom, but cursed with a rather odd social perspective and a rather nasty stench, while the Trolls are their worst foes, breaking their resolve and turning them into raging towers of destruction.

Now we can get into details! I myself am looking forward to a detailed history of Danda, the kingdoms evolution and political amusements as it evolves from 1st, to 2nd (AD&D), then 3/3.5 (A counter revolution halfway into the next empire?) and the current civil war with 4th

Chain the neckbeards and trolls together, and their cacophony streams through the battlefield while their unbridled rage destroys everything in front of them, both egging each other on.

You have to wait until they're unconscious to be able to get near them, though.

    No, but we should. Hmm...
    >> Maus 02/13/09(Fri)10:26 No.3701316
I'm kind of against the idea about having kingdoms based on the various rulesets.

How about philosophies that bring elements of the assorted rulesets as a component of them. nations can have a religion and a philosophy that combines together. Having an entire nation based on one ruleset seems... A bit too 1-dimensional. As in "here is the land of Azns right next to the land of WASPs" 1-dimensional.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)10:27 No.3701321

That works well. So, D&D's many iterations is like the progress through the various abrahamic faiths... although that analogy ends up with Christianity being 3.5 and Islam being 4th :/
    >> Maus 02/13/09(Fri)10:29 No.3701336
Or 3.5 being Catholicism and 4th being Protestantism.

Wut? Say the really ancient abrahamic sects, which aren't common at all anymore, are 1st ed. Judaism, which evolved from them, would be 2nd ed. Christianity, which evolved from Judaism, would be 3/3.5. Islam is odd, however, because while it is from the same abrahamic source, its also got a lot of other influences and departs from many of the old conventions- 4th edition.

We can have rulesets as philosophies, religions and political ideas/principles of law, (which would work best with our current idea of the D&D empire) , which, I believe, doesn't contradict anything we already established.

Yes the "Lake God" is a benevolent deity to the mad cultists that worship it. And, according to the cultists at least, it tells the priests many wise words in the matters of life, of the world around them, and how to punish infidels.

It never seems to actually DO anything, however, be it for good or evil.

There have been rumors that those who speak words of mockery or disbelief within the presence of the Holy Lake God suddenly find themselves sporting unusual new hats, as small terrified octopi seemingly fly out of nowhere and cling to the speakers' heads and faces.

The most powerful (and chaotic) neckbeards are capable of weaving magic that enthralls entire villages - into a shared hallucination, where all the village's people share a single mind and body. Controlling the entity's actions by consensus, they have to solve a magnificent maze of riddles and dangers to wake up again. Those villages that master the challenge are rewarded with great wisdom, and its inhabitants are enlightened. Those that fail... well, there's been a few villages that have been sleeping for hundreds of years, lost in the maze.

    >> Maus 02/13/09(Fri)13:03 No.3702257

    *twitters off again*

Wait. Didn't we already have a nation of Gary Fluffed in?
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)13:04 No.3702267

Maybe. It's all starting to get monstrous.

It's merely large, methinks. I bet we could go much larger.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)13:14 No.3702316

Yeah, but we're gonna need some kind of organization at some point.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)13:30 No.3702408
We'll have to get a guy comparing threads for repeats and setting up the wiki accordingly

    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)13:33 No.3702426

Well, let's get to it. Someone know how to accidentally a whole wiki? I, for one, don't.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)14:06 No.3702625
Anyone here have wikiskillz? i fail on that regard
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)14:19 No.3702707

Whokay, I have no idea how to do it, but I'm gonna try set something up via Wikispaces.

We need a GNS parody in here somewhere. Three mutually dependent kingdoms, who all have the same aim in mind, who nevertheless despise each other, and all claim they are superior.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)14:52 No.3702903
Should totally have the first letter of each map to one of the three letters of GNS. Just because it's nice to belabor the joke.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)14:54 No.3702920
Some sort of organization between the neckbeards who do this would be good. Weaver of course being the leader. Each with their own motive, Ruby Quest was a lot more like you said while Dorf Quest would probablly have been done on a town for shits and giggles.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)15:10 No.3703021
Bump for an idea I want to do well, but have nothing to add too.

What about the "save as 4chan.js" plague?
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)15:21 No.3703087
Okay, I think I set up an acceptable basic framework on the wiki.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)15:21 No.3703089

A limerick, which asks all who hear it to repeat it. If you repeat it, you'll keep repeating it for several days, infecting more people. Its a viral memetic limerick.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)15:23 No.3703098
It needs to be more deadly. or at least potent enough to put everything to a screeching halt.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)15:28 No.3703107

How about make it like The Smile, from the SCP site? You can't do anything but say it. Not work, not thing, not eat, not sleep. If you're mind isn't strong enough to break it, it can kill you.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)15:29 No.3703116
Is there a place for the people with all the weird fetishes on /tg/? You see that a lot. Possibly with a Slaanesh like god.

Need a name other than the colloquial "neckbeard." Something to make them sound official.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)15:51 No.3703223

    How about... Baardhals.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)16:06 No.3703273
Hmm, looks like we're going into hibernation for now. Let's hope we'll be able to pick it up again soon.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)16:07 No.3703280
The next wave should be along shortly. This thread'll survive till then.
    >> Anonymous 02/13/09(Fri)16:55 No.3703549
Well, until it continues, I'll just go on integrating the existing stuff into the wiki.
