You are a Magical Girl, and you've always had a hard time trusting people. Unless they had blonde hair, a beautiful smile and the ability to make pancakes that tasted like the freshly-slaughtered meat of divine winged messengers sent from high, then you'd always have that nasty voice inside your head whenever you were asked to take someone on their word. A nasty, rough-edged voice that told you that this particular someone was lying out of their ass, that they couldn't be trusted with anything at all, and that the best way to extract the truth out of them was through shooting their kneecaps out, or pistol-whipping them to the floor and then shooting their kneecaps out, or taking your combat knife to their kneecaps before shooting them. In the kneecaps. You have trust issues, is what you're trying to get at here.
>>36892600Granted, you've been getting better at that front. You've been able to ignore that nasty little voice time and time again, no matter how much it screamed at you to act on your worst suspicions. And things have...generally worked out all right. It hasn't bitten you in the ass so far.But as you make your way up the fifteenth floor - your heeled feet pounding hard on the stairs you're taking two at a time, each step a painful stab of pain mingling with the dull ache of carrying an injured Callidus in your arms - you wonder if your new policy of trusting people is about to backfire on you in the worst way possible. You can't help but think that this new habit of yours - just believing what people tell you, whether they're a ghost living inside a golden weapon or your best friend - is about to take such a huge bite out of your ass that you'll be shitting through a colostomy bag before this quest is even halfway done."...She's dead, you know. You've left her to die." You hear someone say, in a whisper as tender as a lover's caress and as cold as a knife slipped between ribs. You look down and see that the Callidus in your arms is no longer the girl you know as Wendy Cooldown, but someone else entirely.Someone with green hair, a trusting smile, and glowing eyes the color of bloody rubies."You've killed one of the few people that still trust you, sempai. Congratulations."You blink once. And then again. The smiling, bleeding vision of Midori slowly resolving into your brown-haired ex."...What?" Wendy murmurs, looking back up at you with an equal mix of pain and confusion. "Kong? What's going on? ...Do you want to go back down for Kyoko? I'll be okay, just set me down here--"You shake your head after a moment, before moving again. Quickening your footsteps, your movements. Taking the stairs as fast as you can, forcing your body to ignore the ache of fatigue setting in.This place is getting to you.[1/2]
>>36892604That or your conscience is finally telling you how much you just fucked up in the only way that'd you'd understand."...I had to go for it." Wendy suddenly says, above your own labored breathing. "I was trying to synch back up with Mami, but then I saw her, and she was alone, and..." She falls silent as you pause in your ascent to listen to her. And maybe catch your fucking breath while you're at it. "...I had her, Kong. I had her, but she wouldn't fucking go down. I stabbed her ten fucking times and stabbed her through her visor, but..."How do you respond?...It's fine. It doesn't matter. I'll just have to trust Kyoko on this.Next time, follow the fucking plan, Wendy. It's not hard.Stay silent, continue running up the stairs. You're not in the mood to listen.

RIP in peace ;_;
>>36892783I do honestly wish we could kill Wendy and get her out of the plot. Too bad Decu has made her pretty much required to get to the end game, and won't let anything "bad" happen.
Deculture won't kill Kyoko. Relax.
>>36892614>[x]Stay silent, continue running up the stairs. You're not in the mood to listen.
Gentlemen, perhaps it is now timely to remind ourselves why we bothered bringing a known liability (Kirika) over a known asset (Risa). We want Kirika so that we can save Oriko. We want to save Oriko because we promised Kyouko, and we're a dildo that upholds promises. Thus, an implied condition is that KYOUKO IS STILL ALIVE. Now we know by Word of Goddess that Kirika and Murderface are the principal threats to her this mission; this does not, however, give us carte blanche to act recklessly!Have Mami, Sayaka and Yuma regroup on your position. Status check on Wendy; if stable and still effective, leave her at rendezvous, else cover her until backup arrives. Either way, reinforce your best bro ASAP.
>>36892856I believe you'll find we did in fact leave a flatbro behind.
YES. SUFFERING.FEED ME TEARS, DECU.
>>36892862Now, imagine how angry everyone will be when we find out that Midori's in fact been cheating on us with Wendy (Both in disguise, of course. Callidii, and all that.)I still want that to be a thing that happens, because it would be hilarious, but I don't think Decu has the balls for it.
>>36892914>Thus, an implied condition is that KYOUKO IS STILL ALIVE.Well clearly your word isn't worth the breathe wasted to expell it. A promise is a promise. A promise to a friend now dead is more sacred still. Don't forget that.

Do you know who the fuck we are?Chiaki Matsuda, Warmaster of the Ninth Officio, formerly Homura "the calculator" Akemi. We are the Warmaster. We have ONE job. Find and engage The One Who Leads. The one Kyoko wants us to save. To that end, we are retrieving a contractor to our officio who fucked up, and we will pass her off to one of our subordinated to evac at the earliest possible opportunity. In the meantime, Kyoko will DO. HER. JOB. and if she dies, then so fucking help us SHE IS ON REPORT, even if it means we have to reach into hell and drag her back so that she can be held accountable. But, Kyoko has NEVER let us down. And this seems like a fight she is uniquely well equipped to deal with.
>>36893059also considering what her opponent said, i doubt she will be attacking kyoko to kill.
You know, we can just go all back down once we regroup. We've got all the time in the world, there is no bomb ticking, and this is looking like a first step of this becoming a complete trainwreck. The downside is that this place will have more time to work it's shenanigans and the enemy will get much more time to prepare, but we went in expecting to be cutting through hundreds of meguca and Witches any way. If Sayaka offers to be the one to go back Kyoko up since she's the most sanic, then we'd literally be splitting the party. I know you're better than this, /tg/.
>>36892657 >>36892663 >>36892684 >>36892689"Next time, follow the fucking plan, Wendy." You can't help but growl this at your ex - and while it comes out a breath-deprived grumble wheezed between breaths, it conveys enough of your anger and disappointment at Wendy to make her flinch. "It's not that fucking alien a concept to you, right? Or is it?""...No. But I know you would've understood why I did it." The Callidus in your arms replies coldly, her eyes narrowed despite the pain clouding them. Her one remaining hand reaching up to grab your arm, her nails digging into your skin through the material of your costume. "I know you would've done the same in my place. Seeing that fucker just stranding there all alone, without even a single escort...I had to take the shot." Her grip on your arm tightens. "You would've done the same fucking thing without even thinking about it."..."...Or not. I don't really know anymore." Wendy shakes her head miserably as she lets go, her hand limply flopping onto her waist. Her bloodied fingers leaving smears on your white sleeve. "I don't know who you are anymore, Kong. Or Murderface. Or Chiaki, whatever the hell you want to call yourself."She coughs here. "You've changed. I thought you were just trying to fix your image and everything, and I was fine with that for the most part. Everyone who gets the hat goes through the watch-wearing dildo phase, I was ready to accept that. But..." She shakes her head again. "...You've changed so much that I can't stop thinking that she's gone. That my Kong's gone, and who's left wearing her face is someone who trying to become someone she's not."Silence, except for the thudding of your heels against tile and your own breathing."...I'll shut up now. Sorry for...not following orders, Warmaster." Your ex murmurs, defeated. "I recognize my failing and will be sure to correct it."[1/2]

But that was even before you were forced into this Warmaster business. You just wanted to be better, not be someone else. But apparently the latter is happening. Even if the person you'd been is someone you can't even remember, with only the secondhand accounts of enemies and friends alike to go by.And so, despite yourself - despite feeling that you've consigned your best friend to a death she didn't deserve - you couldn't help but wonder at how it must feel like for Wendy. To be face to face with someone you've lost and found again - only to find out that not only have they forgotten who you are, but they've also become someone else. >>36893786 >>36893789 >>36893799 >>36893807 >>36893864...Well. You asked and she answered. You were expecting her to say no, but...yeah.Despite all the shit going down, you feel your spirits slightly lifted at this. Maybe things won't turn out to so horrible as far as trying to mend things between you and the people from your past. You just have to make sure that the people in your present aren't left kicking in the wind. You decide to leave things at that, letting the Callidus in your arms suffer the rest of your ascent in silence - but not before giving her a squeeze. Just a small one, to make her sure you acknowledged her reply, and appreciate her being honest."...Dumbass." Her murmured reply is muffled against her scarf, and you feel a smirk curling your lips as you continue to pound your way up the stairs. Up to the fifteenth floor, where Mami and Sayaka are still holed up, fighting off wave after wave of god knows what. With any luck, they'd still be there when you arrive. With real luck, they'd still be there - and Sayaka wouldn't go completely apeshit at you for leaving your best friend to fight the Red Culexus on her own.Because the last thing you need right now is to be bitched about making a decision that you know will haunt you for the rest of your life if you were proven wrong.. . .. ..[1/2]
>>36895098The rest of the trip doesn't take as long as you thought it would. You hadn't exactly been silent the entire time, after all - anyone with any ears posted around the building would've heard an out-of-shape Vindicare carrying a Culexus heavier than her wheezing and gasping her way up the main stairwell, her heels clacking against tile with every bounding step. Oriko would have at least posted someone - Magical Girl or Akashic Realm-warped monstrosity - to guard the only other way up, but so far the only company you've come across is the increasing lactic burn of your cramping leg muscles and the lightheadedness that usually follows long-term oxygen deprivation due to exertion. It's not a matter of being noodly, for fuck's sake. Vindicare aren't trained to hump healthy Callidus up stairs. Rifles, sure. Ammunition, sure. But another Magical Girl? This sort of manual labor is left to Eversors that did nothing but lift weights in the gym all fucking day.Christ, you can almost hear Sayaka smugly comment on your upper-body strength (or complete lack of it) or endurance (again, not something you have). And you'd have all of ten seconds of restraint before you draw your sidearm to shoot her in the kneecaps.Another smirk curls the corners of your lips. Well, that sort of takes the edge off the atmosphere some. Maybe if--It's here that you stop - and feel, more than hear, a series of sequential explosions going off somewhere above you. The force of them powerful enough to make the very building you're in tremble with every blast, palpating your own guts with the infrasound echo of each rumbling detonation. A few more flights, and a deep, bassy roar accompanies the rumbling. Muzzle discharge from something huge. Powerful. Magical."...Mami. It's Mami up there. She's fighting." Wendy murmurs urgently in your arms. "Hurry the fuck up, Kong! We have to get in there!"[2/3]
>>36895113She doesn't have to tell you twice. Gritting your teeth, you force your way up the remaining steps, double-time - and when you finally barge through the door, you find yourself forced to stand completely and utterly still. Frozen not only in shock and awe but something else.Wherever Oriko is, she had indeed been sending wave after wave of enemies after your two remaining team mates. You were expecting Magical Girls, or even the demonic goat-dildos that Kyoko had so much fun killing earlier. You weren't expecting a twisted, malformed amalgamation of both. A horde of them, in fact, speaking in high-pitched, unintelligible shrieking and screaming. Their bodies half-warped into bestial forms, their bones jutting out in calcified spikes at the joints and as horns or claws in other places. Some still wore their costumes, others still bore the weapons that their contracts blessed them with - but they all kept these vestiges of their past as ragged, miserable reminders of what they once were, and not in any official or even conscious capacity. As miserable as they looked, however - with faces twisted and warped into permanent visages of pain and torment, their clawed hands welded to staves or swords that still glowed with the magic that had birthed them - they fought with lethal grace and savagery, seemingly still retaining enough wit about themselves to not only take advantage of the gory gifts bestowed upon them, but also use them in conjunction with what they already had. They were fighting Tomoe Mami and Miki Sayaka, two legendary Magical Girls in their own right, not just in the Ninth but all over - to a standstill. Forcing the two to fight in an ever-shrinking circle, making them fight back to back just to keep from being overrun. But that's not to say they didn't bleed for every inch they took. This was still Mami and Sayaka they were fighting, after all. [3/4]

>>36895127One of the world's most renowned Vindicares, not just for her pancakes or her smile, but also for her peerless talent in the battlefield - and one of the most feared Eversors ever to take up the rank, already carving a legend of her own with a sword as red as the blood soaking her cape. You watched, then. You watched as Mami and Sayaka shot, slashed, murdered and killed their way through a horde of the half-demon, half-magical girls. Their movements perfectly complimenting the others', a carefully-choreographed dance of death executed in such a way that it looked sublimely effortless in their parts. Each killing shot, each murdering cut so synchronized that it went past martial prowess and into something almost preternatural. And the usual disunity of an Eversor and Vindicare fighting side by side was absent, too, or if it did it simply didn't matter at all. Mami and Sayaka switched styles and roles with every heartbeat, doing what needed to be done at the time rather than forcing themselves to react in the only way their ranked prescribed them to react. Whenever a threat got too close to Mami - and such a thing was rare with the blonde's rifles delivering their deadly payload with a never-ending series of brilliant explosions and pin-point accuracy - she would rip them apart with a flurry of her ribbons, or tie them down long enough for Sayaka to reduce them to biological matter. If another threat was sniping at Sayaka from afar, then the blue-haired Eversor would unfurl her cape, and the twinkling lights from its depths would be the only warning before the sniper found themselves pinned into the adjacent wall by three gleaming blades, each one flung with enough force that they would punch right through their victim - handle and all - unless there was actually a wall to pin the hapless target to.All this, done again and again, many times over, in the space of heartbeats. [4/5]
>>36895163You shake your head here in slow disbelief. You knew they were good, but not THIS good. Why are you Warmaster again? Because...if you want to talk about more capable, more worthy candidates, then Kyuubey didn't have to look any further than your Equerry, or your blonde goddess of victory. Whoever voted you for the position is insane. Insane and blind. You--"...Kong, what the fuck are you standing around for?!" Wendy's shout jerks you back into reality. She worms her way out of your grip, wobbling only for a second as she gets back onto both feet. Her knife manifesting once more in her remaining hand, gripped by scorched fingers. "Help me clear this fucking room, they're getting murdered out here!"What? But they're doing fine! How are they--A sudden rumbling cuts you off - and something huge and massive crashes from the ceiling, baring the fifteenth floor to the others above it. It's another goat dildo - the horned caprine skull and the cloven hooves give it away - but it's gigantic. Bigger and taller and meaner than any of the others you've encountered so far, with veined leathery wings unfurling from its back and a massive chaintoothed maul in its fists. It descends with a roar and the ungodly buckling of cement pillars cracking underneath the strain of its weight - and you wince as the horde of twisted amalgamations shriek and scream as they're pulped underfoot. Those that survived or managed to get out of the way wail their praises at the newcomer, before pressing their attack upon the embattled duo. You hear Sayaka swear viciously as she disembowels three Magical Girls in one swing of Blueberry Cheesecake Brownie, before pointing the blade at the towering brute....Okay, so they're not going to be doing fine for much longer. You'll have to step in.[5/6]
>>36895179"Your call, Kong!" Wendy turns to you, just as grinning shadows sprout from behind her, each one sporting a melting grin and a half-tied ponytail. Even if Mami and Sayaka could feasibly take care of the horde on their own, you're not going to underestimate just what superior numbers can do to even out the playing field. You're not leaving this up to chance. No fucking way in hell.+ Oh, he's a big guy. + You hear Kirika's lip-licking, silky-smooth voice in your ear as you pull Muramasa free from its sheath with one hand. Feeling renewed strength course through your own tired frame at the mere contact with the cursed weapon, and dulling any pain left in your body into something you can easily ignore.+ For you? + You find yourself pulsing back, just as you break into a dead run, right into the horde. You didn't even need to tell Wendy - the Callidus exploding into action and charging in alongside you, her shadows flitting about her with every step she took, cleavers manifesting in their see-through grips.+ Hardly. I've taken bigger. + Kirika chuckles as a golden mist begins to fill your vision, tinting everything in the color of warm honey. + But we'll see if you can take it, eh, Murderface? See if you're actually up to the Blessed Lady's expectations. If you are, then... + Another chuckle, just as the horde finally senses your approach, each one turning from their embattled prey to turn upon you. Their distorted maws opening to scream your death in your face. + I'll be the first to congratulate you. On being the first sinner worthy enough to be redeemed. +The horde meets you and Wendy head-on, and it's here that you feel the sword take you over once more. Just like it did earlier with Kyoko. Just like it did back then at Siberia, when you nearly murdered Midori in your own battle fugue.[1/2]
>>36896580But unlike those times, when consciousness left you mere moments before the battle began and returned when everything else around you was reduced to pools of biological wreckage sloshing against your ankles, you were there all throughout. Conscious all throughout.Every slash, every cut, every disemboweling thrust that unleashed your opponent's guts to the floor in a slopping, wormish pile played out in front of you in slow, detailed playback. Every nuanced sensation of killing - the slightest resistance as Muramasa bit through armor, and the complete absence of it as the blade carved through meat and bone and sinew - coursing up your fingers and arms, to spike into your brain in stabs of hot, tactile pleasure. And in this sensory overload, you also managed to behold Wendy cutting through the horde. Even with her injuries, even with the loss of her other hand, she was still a force to be reckoned with - her knife flashing in and out of existence as she cut with erratic, almost unpredictable swings. Each cut a death, or a crippling wound that saw her opponent tumbling to the floor in a graceless, tendon-severed tumble. The shadows around her - manifesting as tall, blonde phantasms with ghastly smiles frozen on their eyeless faces - mimicking her movements with devastating efficiency, turning the space around her into a bloody abbatoir. It's here then, in this gold-tinted reaping of life, that you hear yourself begin to laugh. A laughter that only comes to those maddened few good enough and desperate enough to survive a melee this insane. A laughter that comes when a warrior's bloodlust denies the limits of his mortal body - fatigue, injury, even death - just to kill more and more and more. + THE FLESH, + You yell, still laughing, just as you hear Kirika herself yell in your mind. + OF FALLEN ANGELS. +[2/3]
>>36896334Wendy's shorter ones are okay, the 16th stuff is alright, I thought Midori's one wasn't terrible, maybe one or two of the oneshots but I don't recall which.Don't recall finding anything else even slightly worth reading.
>>36896457>no tasteI was about to retort to that when I remembered Halaxis has spent most of his time drawing rule 63 lewds of SWQ writers. Can't really call that out as false now, can I?
>>36896594But just as you were beginning to feel yourself drown in the amber light of the fever - your entire body tingling with the pleasure of reaping so much life with ease - it's with a cold start that you find yourself shunted back into reality, the golden mist disappearing as quickly as it had appeared. You look down, and see that you've shoved Muramasa back into its sheath somehow, your Golden Desert Eagle in its place in your grip. + Have a care, Nameless One. + Dildoes' voice, icy with dignified fury, cuts through your core. + We nearly lost you there. +You can't help but narrow your eyes here, as you immediately begin to make snap-shots around you, using the Desert Eagle in nearly point-blank range to deliver point-blank death. The gun kicking in your hand with nearly the same force and volume as Mami's own ivory rifles. You had everything under control, you snarl at your fallen incarnation. You were trying to get to Mami and Sayaka!+ And so you did, + Dildoes replies. + But you were also about to take the blue one's head off her shoulders. We -- or at least, I -- had to do something. +...You shake your head, before glancing around you. True enough, you'd managed to fight your way through the horde, now occupying the same ever-diminishing circle of space that Mami and Sayaka also occupied. Another glance and you see Wendy finally join you, her shadows briefly winking out of existence before manifesting again amidst breathy, waspish giggling."COOLDOWN! MURDERFACE!" Sayaka yells over the din, the glowing length of Blueberry Cheesecake Brownie crackling in her hands. Sizzling the blood that had begun to coat it in the wake of such wanton slaughter. "WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU? WHERE'S KYOKO?!"[3/4]

>>36896782I'm not reading "tear it apart" as necessary using Kirika again. More along the lines of applying precise shots disabling the beast's joints while checkers and blueberry do the actual cutting.

Magical Scribe Eleanor Slam versus Magical Hanzer “Milly” SchulzFor someone who seems so eager to kill, Milly takes her sweet time advancing toward me. Each step carries that heavy, metallic clank I heard outside, as she draws closer and closer. While her face isn’t illuminated, I imagine she has an ugly, shit-eating grin right about now. Or a predatory smile. She probably is very pleased with how she’s found me.Even thought I’m under the covers, I’m shivering. Every other time it felt like I was about to die, there was -something- there to mitigate the fear. Usually somebody was standing by for when things went to shit. But there’s nobody here to save me now. Tanis is fucking dead, and I’m completely alone with this psycho bitch, who I only beat last time due to a fluke.Milly just stops at the foot of my bed and stands there, staring straight at me. Or I think she is, at least. I bring the covers up to my face, both of my hands clenching the sheet like it’s supposed to do a damn thing against her while she’s on a warpath. “…Why?” I whimper. “Why are you doing this? I already said sorry-”“Why?” Milly interrupts, her voice loud but still calm. “You really don’t understand why I’m angry?” I shake my head, and she actually sighs, setting one hand on her hips. “I’m angry because you took away my last vestiges of joy, you little miscreant.” She stabs her finger at me accusingly, growling, “and then you humiliated me, rather than accepting your just punishment. You denied me my deserved catharsis.”Does she mean the garden? And the match she herself rigged so she could fight me? “I… I really don’t understand,“ I explain, adding an emphatic, “sorry.”Milly slowly brings up her arms in front of her, the air sparking as her maces manifest in her hands. “Then die in ignorance,” she coldly orders.[1/12]
>>36896970Understandable, I like the Second, and neco as a morally empty rage inducer, but yeah I can totally see where you're coming from.
I tear off the sheet and throw it at her as I fall out of the bed. I don’t wait for her reaction; I’m already getting my footing back and sprinting out the doorway as her maces destroy the bed in a deafening crash of metal on metal. I stop briefly to apologize to Tanis’s corpse (or hopefully just unconscious body) for getting her dragged into all this, before racing down the empty halls (where is everyone?!). I can see signs on the walls with arrows pointing to various locations, but I can’t tell what any of them mean. I need to find the exit. Gotta find somebody who can stop her-“You’re not getting away this time, Eleanor!” screeches Milly from somewhere behind me, compelling me to run even faster. Her thunderous steps sound a lot quicker than the ones I remember from her last fight, but looking over my shoulder to check really isn’t going to help me in any way here.Coming up on a sharp corner, I get an idea and will a spear into my power fist’s grip. I’ve never done this before, so I don’t know if this will help me at all, but my instincts are screaming at me to move as fast as I possibly can. As soon as I reach the bend, I jam the spear point into the ground, embedding it in the floor up to its handle. Like swinging around a pole on the playground, I let my momentum spin me around and launch myself from the spear without losing speed-And slam into the wall hard enough for it to hurt like hell and make it crack. Fuck, this was a bad idea-Something crashes into the wall next to me with tremendous force and a snarl of pain. Dust and bits of concrete explode from the impact site as if a bomb just went off, shrapnel flying down the way I just came. I don’t pause to gape at how narrowly I avoided annihilation; I throw myself from the wall and take off running again.Soon Milly’s screams of rage resume, followed by the metal clanking sounds gaining on me. Holy fucking shit, what –is- she?[2/12]
>>36897000>Minimum Christmas featuring the Ghost of Kyoukos Past
“Somebody HELP!” I scream, though my tormentor’s sounds of pursuit mostly drown it out. I barrel through a set of doors, and it’s another fucking hallway. This place is a maze. Which way is out?! A row of closed doors leads to the far end of the hall, and all of them look pretty much identical. There’s a set of stairs heading down at the end; probably not the way out, but I can’t just keep running straight ahead. I don’t know how, or why, but I think Milly is catching up to me.Hauling ass over the railing, I drop down the flight of stairs to the level below. My hat falls off and flops down the steps, so I just leave it behind and dash off. Behind me, there’s another crashing sound as the railing tumbles down the stairs and clatters to the ground. Milly’s terrifying gait resumes shortly after that; I bought myself a few seconds, but she’s going to catch me at this rate. I’m going as fast as I can, willing myself to go faster, and it’s not doing a fucking thing!Coming up on an intersection, I get another idea. And while my brain is screaming it’s reckless and stupid, my body is already performing the motions. I run toward the closest wall and jump at it, flat boots slipping on the surface from a lack of friction. I don’t know how they got so dusty, but this ‘kick off the wall’ stunt just ends with me once again slamming my face into the wall, rattling one of my teeth loose. Throwing myself off the wall yet again, I spit it out and try to ignore the salty sting of blood in my mouth. I awkwardly stumble back and try to pick up speed again, my pacing thrown off by vertigo. Then, I become terribly aware of some things that stop me cold at the worst possible time:Milly is roaring a shrill, wordless battle cry. The clanking footsteps are slowing down. And they’re –right next to me-.I spin around and bring up my metal arm to block, just as a spiked mace smashes into it like the wrath of a hateful god.[3/12]
I don’t just give up ground from the blow; the strike flings my body back, making it spin in midair and skip across the ground and walls. Each bounce brings agony as my bones fracture from the impact. I want to close my eyes until it’s over, until my vision shows something other than a tornado of whiteness. WHY THE FUCK WON’T MY BODY LISTEN TO ME?! I crash into some kind of machine, plastic shards and bits of twisted metal raining down around me. I blink a few times, trying to make my world stop spinning. I can’t even summon the strength to stand or move; everything feels like it broke all at once.A familiar shuffling sound makes my breath stop. Something white flutters into the edge of my vision, time seeming to slow down as the horrible thing descends. Scrabbling at the floor, I flip over and crawl away as fast as I fucking can. I keep my eyes to the ground, my heart drumming in panic. I bump into the corner of what might be a receptionist’s counter – I don’t care what it is. I don’t fucking CARE! I am NOT going to die from a fucking Vanus trance! The booming sound of Milly’s slow, stomping footsteps gives my cowardice strength I didn’t know it had. Everything throbs, stings, burns, or aches, but, after falling down a couple times, I get back on my feet. I’m power limping down another corridor, looking desperately for some place to hide. All the doors are shut, though, and even my panicked brain remembers that an open door is suspicious as hell....I stagger towards a door at the end of an intersection and try to push it open, but it doesn’t budge. The handle won’t turn at first, but my robotic arm tears it out. With that bitch drawing closer, I throw the door open enough to make it slam against the wall. That brings her running.I go around the corner and hobble through even more of the glaring white labyrinth.[4/12]
>>36897104Hahaha!Well, I'm personally looking forward to it myself!
Even over my heavy breathing, I can still hear Milly’s hateful screams. It’s starting to sound far away now, but not far enough for me to feel safe. Not when explosions and gunfire punctuate them. I hoped for a second that it meant security arrived to deal with her, but her angry shouting and cacophonic running resumes shortly afterwards. Everything is starting to take its toll on my body, but I keep moving. Any doors I try to open are locked up tight.Fuck this. Fuck all of this.I tear open the closest door I can reach, and toss the handle inside the room. Then do the same for another door nearby. And a third one a ways down the hall.Okay, now… What was I going to do? I’m starting to get dizzy again, and I feel like I want to throw up, but I was going to do something. It’s… it’s something that I can’t remember the name of thanks to this lightheaded feeling, but it’s some kind of plan… starts with an ‘o’ maybe?Well, whatever, the word’s not important right now. I tear open one more door between the last two, and then duck inside. Crawling through the dark, I bump my head into something metallic – fuck, fuck… it’s… it’s just a headache, nothing huge, keep going – and feel my way around it. I think that it’s another hospital bed. Those are things that you can hide behind, right? At the sound of one of the rooms being ransacked – fuck, I thought I had more time – I move behind the bed-thing and look back. The light coming from the hallway is easy to see, and distressingly not obscured by anything but a few thin bars. If she turned on the lights, she’d see me right away. Gotta find somewhere else, something-The destructive commotion is closer this time, and Milly sounds even angrier this time. I want to stop, but I keep looking for cover.By now, her clanking is right outside this room. I drop behind what I hope is a nightstand just as she hurls the door open.[5/12]
>>36897056BECAUSE WE ARE GIGANTIC DILDOES.>>36897000Why didn't you give us the option in the last thread to leave Tiny Pete with Kyouko? Will our suffering please you this much? Is this all part of the plan, Deculture, or should I say - INCUBATOR?
I can’t see shit from where I’m facing, though even with the blood pumping in my ears, Milly’s sounds of approach ring clear. I grab my knees and hug them as close as I can, curling up into the tiniest ball possible, and hope to anything I can hope to that this nightmare would end soon. Or at least end painlessly.Milly’s erratic footfalls echo through the place. There’s a flash of blue light before a thunderclap erupts somewhere far too close to me. The stink of ozone fills the air as a jagged bolt of lightning dances across the wall I’m facing.Fuck, I could have kept moving instead of hiding where she could find me. Maybe I’m too fucking tired for moving, but I still could have at least tried. Now she has me cornered and is going to kill me really fucking slowly. Why? Why the fuck have I been so FUCKING STUPID today? Why the fuck was I so stupid as to fight back during the Eversor examination? I could have just let her pummel me and gone back to business as usual until Checkers bailed me out somehow.A shrill grunt of effort behind me indicates that she just lifted something up. She rips that ‘something’ apart with metallic squealing and hurls it at the ceiling. I hear it crash, and the sound of bits of… whatever the ceiling is made of, I hear that fall down and break on the ground.I don’t hear the metal thing fall down.I curl up even tighter, pressing my eyes into my knees until I start seeing colors. My leg is starting to fall asleep because my metal hand is gripping it so hard. This is it. This is how I die: curled up in a ball, far away from home, after struggling hard… and accomplishing absolutely nothing. Tears of indignation and shame well up in my eyes, mixing with the cold sweat dripping down my face.I know I deserve bad things. I know that, but… but this is just too much.Checkers… Suzi… Russ… Jael… Crunch…Somebody please help. I don’t want to die like this…[6/12]
…Milly’s plodding, metallic footsteps move away from me, and back into the hallway. The pace picks up as they run toward the last room I opened. I swallow hard, the metallic tang of blood reminding me just why I’m hiding from her this time, and lift my head up to rest it on my knees. I try to breathe in and wait for the spots and blobs of color to go away.…Oh. I hadn’t even realized I was holding my breath until just now. I let it out with a gasp as chaos breaks out in the next room. Milly is smashing stuff, electrocuting things, and shooting everything from the sound of things. She lets out a long, frustrated scream after the din dies down – I haven’t heard her use words in quite some time. Does she even remember how to do that? Finally, FINALLY, Milly’s warpath heads away from me; her sounds of indiscriminate destruction fade out as she stalks the halls again, not even running at this point. Maybe she’s tired. Or maybe she just wants to draw it out. I don’t know, and I don’t fucking care.First things first: After I catch my breath, I quietly limp to an unopened room and break the handle as gently as I can. This time, after I go in, I shut the door behind me and feel around for a light switch. My shaking hand finds something promising and tries to flip it, but it’s not moving… oh, it’s a button. I press it, and find myself in a room that is pretty much identical to the one I woke up in. Now, if it’s the same kind of room, with the same kind of bed, that means they have an emergency call button thing. I stumble over to the bed and fight the instinct to lie down and rest. It’s late as fuck, and I’m tired as fuck, but I have to do these things.I push the button, and a little light comes on. I... I don’t know what to do next, but I hope that this means somebody’s coming to help. I hope they can deal with Milly better than me or Tanis could.…Fuck… Tanis is dead because of me…[7/12]
I mull this over while going to the sink. Before now, before –this-, whenever I was at my absolute worst, I could take solace in one thing. I could remind myself that at least nobody’s –dead- because of me. And now I can’t even fucking do that.…I grab a cup and fill it with water, and take a big sip. As tempting as it is to drink, I swish it around in my mouth before spitting into the sink. And I keep doing so until the water is no longer stained red, so that can I drink it up without choking like a moron. Yeah, it hurts to drink water on an empty stomach, but everything hurts anyway. What difference is it going to make? And I’m going to need a lot of fluids anyway, for all the crying I’m doing.…Jesus Christ… you’re crying like a little bitch again. Grow the fuck up, Eleanor. No wonder everyone treats you like a kid. You can’t even stop yourself from crying anymore.I finally have a chance to look myself over and see what kind of damage I let Milly do to me. There weren’t as many broken bones or sprains as I had thought there were, but holy fuck… she put a spike-shaped dent in the battle arm. Crunch spent her own savings on it, and the people at the Second seemed so proud of it when they finished, talking about how strong and durable it was… and I’ve somehow gone and ruined it. Fuck me.I remove the bits of clothing covering the sore parts and break out the first aid kit. It shows that I have no fucking idea what I’m doing when I’ve finished attempting to patch myself up. The bandages don’t feel like they’ve been put on right, and I’m completely sure I forgot to do something important, but it’d probably be a waste of good medical supplies. They should be saved for somebody who needs them. I leave the kit out before putting my costume back on.My heart’s not pounding like a jackhammer anymore, and my breathing’s gone back to normal. I did what I could with my injuries, drank some water, called for help…[8/12]
…So what now? What do I do? Hell, what the fuck –can- I do? Saying sorry isn’t going to bring someone back to life. Even capturing Milly isn’t going to fix this. It’s my fault. It’s my fucking fault. Because I didn’t let Milly vent her anger in that duel, when there weren’t any important things at stake-No, before that. It’s because I let my own anger get the better of me and trashed something she cared about. I destroyed something she worked hard at, just because I was having a bad day. Sure, she was mean to me… and everything was awful… but that’s no excuse to hurt someone and break their things in a fucking temper tantrum. And now, in spite of everyone’s help, this is all I’ve managed to do. I just… I just make everything worse for people. Even Crunch didn’t deserve the kind of guilt that my inability to defend myself brought her. Even if it was shortsighted… she really thought she was doing the right thing. And if I wasn’t so fucking weak, it might have worked.…I don’t even care that I’m crying right now. The only one who can see it is me, and if my day getting worse means I’ll finally be out of everyone’s hair…I will the blue gemstone around my neck to appear in my hand, and take a long, hard look at it. The soul gem’s pretty, azure blue color is only slightly tainted by corruption. I run my metal hand over the smooth, polished surface, and make a fist. If I could just break this thing, then all this shit would be over. I mean, people might be sad. But they’d get over it, I’m sure.…Really, it’d be doing them a favor.…It’s the nicest thing I can do for them.…The gem reappears around my worthless neck as I glare angrily at the awful person in the mirror. You goddamn coward. You selfish piece of shit. You should have broken the goddamn thing already. You could have –helped- people.[9/12]
>>36897000 Hey man, I am sorta frustrated that it doesn't really feel like we have any choice other than riding the Wendy train. I noticed it before, but this thread it feels even worse than usual. For example when we asked her if she still wanted us to be her Kong I read it as more a moment of asking if we she really wanted to try what with how much she is fucking up, but the next options all sorta felt like we were accepting her confession or something. I am one of the people who really don't like Wendy at all really, so maybe I am just being salty over how much we have to interact with her, but that's how I feel. None of the offered choices were significant from each other. Also any write in will almost never gain a majority in that situation so it feels a bit like a kick in the teeth. Also any chance we can stop dealing with Wendy? As said, I really don't like her and am getting seriously sick of her nonsense. It was bad enough when she was just a write up character, but now it feels like she is being shoved down my throat.
I splash some cold water on my face and wipe off some of the snot with a paper towel. I guess all I can do is sit tight until somebody shows up. IF somebody shows up, that is.I study my reflection one last time, for what good it will do me, and frown even harder. Something feels off, but I don’t know what it is. It’s just me though. And all the self-deprecation aside, there’s nothing unusual to look at – it’s the same curly lavender hair, same amber eyes, same childlike complexion, same soul gem-The soul gem in the mirror is black.I tear out my soul gem in shock. It’s black. It’s fucking black. It’s turned black and it’s starting to crack. How? Why? Whywhywhywhywhy? HOW? NO! I don’t want to hurt these people! I DON’T WANT TO BE A WITCH!I try to put the gem back. Put it back and everything will be okay. But it’s not okay. My soul gem just shattered, its gilding left completely hollow.I immediately clutch my head in agony as sharp points puncture my skull from the inside. Bits of metal force their way through my skin, the buzz of corruption drowning out my thoughts. Blackness drips out from the metal pen nubs, the horrible, nauseating smell of ink becoming my world. I cry, and my tears become ink. My nose leaks ink. My mouth fills with the bitter poison that is ink, spilling from my lips like drool as I start to scream. The same scream that my witch form acknowledged me with.“NO!” I cry out, and smash the mirror into pieces....Like waking from a bad dream, my awareness returns. The pain from before is gone, and the air just smells like antiseptic. There’s no buzzing in my head or anything, and… yes, my gem is still the same color it was before. My heart’s beating like crazy again, though. Sounds like-“FOUND YOU!” screeches Milly triumphantly from the doorway, making me jump in surprise. Oh god, my outburst just fucked me over in the worst way.[10/12]
Whatever happened to Milly, it hit her bad. Her normally braided hair is in wild disarray, and the part of her outfit that covers her stomach shredded and burnt. She doesn’t look like a magical girl anymore. With the crazed, hateful look in her eyes and tight-lipped smile, she looks like a monster. A monster that’s come here to tear me apart. An uncharacteristic giggle forces its way out of her lips as she shambles over. “I’m going to wash away the disgraces you dealt me,” she murmurs, voice carrying a slight singsong quality to it. “I’ll wash them away with your –blood-, Eleanor.”I take a step forward and bring up my arms in a show of surrender. “Please-““SHUT UP!” she barks, grabbing my normal arm and yanking me over. I stumble forward and bang my head against her stomach. There’s some kind of metal plating there, concealed beneath her skin. “Do you see now what you made me do?” she snarls, pulling her face close. “I had to sacrifice parts of my own body for these augmentations; parts that were perfectly serviceable, but not strong enough on their own.” Milly narrows her eyes at me. “You made me compromise my own beauty for the power to crush fools like you.”I shake my head at her accusation. “How is that my fault?” I ask her. I mean, I blame myself for a lot of things, but you did this to yourself.“And, unlike the pitiful little heap of junk those fanatical zealots tossed together for you,” she continues, ignoring me completely, “-my- augmetics were created by the Mechanicus of the Fourth Officio.”“W-who?“Milly giggles oddly again. “You really don’t know anything, do you?” she taunts, releasing my arm. “They make the most cutting-edge machinery of any Officio. Of any organization. This is only fitting for one such as me.” The tight-lipped smile returns as she looms over me, asking, “Do you understand what that means?”[11/12]
>>36897000Thanks for running, Decu. You're always doing good but this thread was exceptionally great.I won't be on the internet until end of December (family obligations) so have my best wishes for the holidays now. Stay awesome!
I shake my head and slowly back away, hoping to distract her with more conversation. But she isn’t having any of that, and grabs me by the wrist. I struggle against it, tugging until my boots slip on the ground, but I can’t budge an inch. Now my arm’s sore, which is probably the least worrying thing.“It means new legs! New arms! Toxin filters! Automatic weaponry!” she exclaims, crushing my toes with her foot stomp and making me scream in agony. Worse pain joins already horrible pain, as she starts squeezing my flesh and bone arm in her grip. I try to pry it off with my robotic arm, but it won’t budge! Why won’t it move?! Is it because it’s made of metal now?“IT MEANS I AM STRONGER THAN YOU!” Milly snarls, and with cruel irony and a crueler smile, rips out my normal arm with a loud pop. I crumple to the ground, unable to stand.“IT MEANS I AM FASTER THAN YOU!” she declares, kicking my shin until it snaps with a loud crunch. I’m starting to lose awareness of anything but the pain. “IT MEANS I AM BETTER THAN YOU!” she screams, grabbing my body by the waist. She hurls me back at the wall. My body hits with a loud splat, and my insides paint the walls.…I can’t feel anything anymore. I think everything just broke. “DO YOU SEE, ELEANOR?” Milly asks, dashing over with heavy footsteps. “THE BEST AUGMETICS IN THE WORLD ARE –MINE-! AND YOU! ARE! NOTHING!”…I can’t see her anymore, and my head refuses to turn. Then everything goes dark, and Milly’s bragging muffles to the point that I can’t understand it. The only good thing to come of this is that I can’t feel how much everything hurts now, but it’s starting to get cold……This can’t be how it ends. I can’t accept it. It’s not just unfair. It’s… it’s stupid. That… that bitch is blaming me for her own bad decisions. And I have to die because of it?…Fuck… I don’t want to die……I don’t want to die……...[12/12]
>>36897056Too bad it looks like the Tiny Pete option didn't seem to win this time. Could have tossed the tiny Vindicare inside back to Kyoko. Two reinforcements for the price of one.
...……I don’t know how long it is before the world comes rushing back to me. I’m staring at a puddle of blood between my legs that hasn’t even dried yet… can I move? Yeah, I can move. I can turn my head and see the signs of my recent mutilation all over the wall.…What the fuck? Wasn’t I just dying? While my blood and guts still decorate the walls, somehow I’m okay. I’m not even hurting anymore. I’m not even –tired- anymore. How did this happen? Didn’t my arm get ripped off? What the fuck?I can see Milly sprawled on the ground, her wings laying flat. Her teeth are clenched, her eyes are shut, and she’s groaning in pain. There’s a double-headed axe buried in her spine; it’s surrounded by several wounds of similar shape. Somebody got in a few sneak attacks on her. Next to Milly is a pile of something translucent and brown, covered in blood. It kind of looks like... skin.“I told you,” murmurs a determined, if quiet voice, “visiting hours are over.”She looks… completely uninjured. She’s in much better shape than I thought she was before. As in, she’s alive, moving, and breathing. And she’s shed the surgeon’s gown for what can generously be called a bandeau, and a bow around her neck.I groan a little as I pick myself up, and Tanis looks over at me. Her expression falls into nervous concern. “Are you okay?” she asks. “Can you walk?”Taking a few steps forward, I nod dumbfounded.Tanis smiles again. “Then, uh, we should probably run,” she informs me, removing her axe from Milly’s back. I couldn’t agree more.Unfortunately, Milly has other plans. Already back on her feet, she brandishes her maces at Tanis. “I don’t know how you’re still alive, freakshow,” Milly growls at her, hefting her weapons, “but I won’t let you interfere again!” Tanis has enough time to turn around just to see Milly swing down to split her skull.[13/14]
>>36897104Kyouko dying now would suck, but I think Kyouko surviving and eventually coming to hate Chiaki's guts as she inevitably betrays everyone in an attempt to save the universe would be a more healing choice.

...With Milly distracted, I could make a break for it. I mean, Tanis came back from certain death before, and I’m pretty sure she brought me back from the brink as well. So she’ll be fine. I keep telling myself that as time seemingly slows to a crawl, Milly’s mace heading straight for the crown of Tanis’ head.…Fuck. I’m going to die if I fight here. I’m actually going to die. I don’t have my soul gem safely tucked away in a little box, it’s still right here with me… maybe Milly would stop hurting people if she got to kill me?…No.No.Fuck that.Fuck all of this bullshit. But most of all, fuck you, Milly.I spring forward and bring my metal fist back. Milly isn’t quick enough with her strike; not slowing down at all, I punch at her mace head and deflect the attack. The weapon hits the ground heavily and embeds itself in the floor with a crash. My body is trembling in sheer terror as I pull Tanis back. Both Milly and Tanis gape at me, Milly more in shock, while Tanis is in awe.I can’t believe I just did that… no, no I can believe I just did that. I know why I did that. I don’t give a fuck what happens to me, but Fuckerfly can’t drag other people into her meltdowns. Tanis was just taking care of me because it was her job.“Milly,” I growl through clenched teeth, making her lip twitch in displeasure at the name, “even if I wronged you…”Making a fist, I will a large spear into existence in my metal hand, which forces my fingers apart as it appears. I grasp it, lower it, and point it at Fuckerfly in challenge.“…that’s no excuse for you to hurt other people!” I exclaim with indignation.Fuckerfly scoffs at me, ripping her weapon out of the ground. “Do you earnestly believe that you can win, you worm?” she sneers.I shake my head. “No,” I answer with brutal honesty, “but I’m gonna try anyway.”[14/14]

Trials of the Thrice-Cursed: X-chapterThe Nightmare Returns, part 2This wasn't going anywhere.I stopped my wild chase suddenly, my patience for aimless things having ran out. It wasn't good enough to give it my all, I needed to do this smartly rather than rashly. I barely paid any attention to the environment around me as I changed my plans on dime, the tall hedges meaning nothing to me.It was easy to muster up the energy I needed; the power of this mad realm flowing all around me was like an all-you-can-eat buffet of magical force ripe for the taking; if you didn't mind the fact that it all tasted like Sorrows and was probably very bad for your health. Personally I was already used to pain, so the phantom feelings that flowed through me as I reached out for ethereal treads were familiar. I closed my eyes and the noise filled my mind as tiny, spider-like strands of the raw stuff of Unreality wrapped around my fingers and wrists.Everything was a mess at first. Dozens of voices trying to crush one another in a horrible cacophony of screams, desperate pleas and hateful curses against life itself; dozens of pictures trying to supplant one another like as many semi-transparent TV screens merging together in one indescribable, unreadable mess.STOP.The noise refused to calm down even as I tried to bend it to my will, but the most distant voices vanished, leaving the ensemble slightly less sickeningly disorienting. With them, they took the images associated with their essence. I remained motionless and slowly, one by one, nine orange flames lit up around me, each at roughly equal distance of one another and one or two meter away from me. I could not see them just yet, but I could sense the heat and hear the cracking of their embers.==[1/10]
I focused my thoughts, shooing away the part of my brain that joined with the voices to scream at me how much of a retard I was for starting this ritual without properly checking my surroundings first. For all I knew, seconds might still matter, so it was a sacrifice of recklessness I was prepared to make. She was here. I knew she was here. I could definitely sense her presence now, somewhere far away... Now if I could only put the finger on where...As I opened my eyes, the noises and images stopped, as if siphoned by the Warpfire. Within each flame, a solitary memory of an unknown source was held for me to observe more carefully. I could not move without breaking the treads, so the Flames moved for me. slowly, they rotated as one, keeping their perfect circle as they moved, and I peered deep into the orange blazes. Suddenly, a gruesome snapping sound caught my attention along with a sudden surge of pain. The pain itself was enough to tell me that it was my right shoulder, which had spontaneously dislocated from the magical feedback flowing into me from the strands of memories. I would have to take care of this immediately. But for now I still had a bitch to find. The flames rotated faster and faster until they abruptly stopped. As I looked into the flame that stopped before me I knew instinctively this was the location I wanted. I knew that was where she was:Some sort of large, tall building of some description filled to the brim with Daemon creatures with goat-like features....Well that didn't help me at all, there's hundreds of those in this damned place!I let the treads retreat to the fabric of the realm and brought my left hand to catch the dying sparks of the flame before me as it shattered.==[2/10]
>>36897333I'm curious as to what about the Malal write-ups cause such an urge for vitriol. There have certainly been write-ups I didn't like, and I could even understand saying as much in the thread if you lack tact or it's somehow important, but this elaborate campaign of abuse boggles the mind. To first care enough about the quest/write-up to feel this strongly in the first place, and then actually go to the effort of putting it down so thoroughly, are both bizarre things.
>>36897419Just ignore the troll, anon, and keep reading Malal's stuff.
It was faint, but I managed to catch scent of the trail. It would be difficult to explain what I meant by that because this pocket hell disregarded the logics and laws of the real world so much that sometimes senses became jumbled and mixed up. I couldn't have found words good enough to describe the feeling of "hearing" colors or "tasting" the bitter touch of cold even if I had been on acid, and I can be quite wordy when I'm on acid.I barely had enough time to acknowledge my new destination before some sort of whip raked my back with surprising strength and made me stagger, bringing my attention back to the Unreality around me. I would have told myself 'told you so', but I already had enough issues without adding 'talking to myself like a schizophrenic bitch' to the list. The maze of hedges around me had come alive, as if the whole quivering vegetal mass was one, single, malevolent consciousness. It was probably part of a Witch, so that was more likely than not close to the truth. I had to dance to avoid the onslaught that followed; dozens of large vine-like tendrils covered in thorns flailed and struck out at me with no pattern or logic to observe. I brought my left hand to my right shoulder and snapped it back into place as I continued to whirl and leap through the assaults of the vegetal demon. Once this issue resolved, I looked out for options. My first reaction would have been to jump and get out of this maze to get a top view and take a shortcut, but it turns out while I was focused on my spell the giant hedges have grown to easily a hundred meters, which threw that option out the window. I had no choice but to fight my way through this maze... which was the absolute last goddamned thing I wanted to have to do when I was on a timer like this.Fuck it. Fuck this thing, fuck it to oblivion. Everything that stands between me and her will BURN. I'll obliterate it all.==[3/10]
>>36897059You keep posting 'em, I'll keep reading 'em.
The familiar scent of brimstone pleased me as it filled my nostrils, the energy it heralded coating my claws warmly. Mere seconds later it was unleashed; a purple Hellfire that set the ground around me ablaze and incinerated the vines foolish enough to try to hit me through them.Everything will burn and turn to ashes. The vegetal mass produced some sort of inhuman, disembodied scream as more purple flames seared though the hedge closest to me, leaving nothing in its wake but black ashes and a charred hole around the point of the impact of my projectile. I proceeded through onto a path that led straight in the direction I wanted. The vines never stopped trying to grasp at me; trying to ensnare me, but it was futile. Thorns grazed and grazed, but nothing held. I was just too fast for it and what tried to block my path was ripped by either my claws or teeth. I've never had Witch-greens before. I expected it to have a different texture at least, but it tastes the same as flesh. So much for 'eat your veggies', but that's fine too. It's actually not bad at all once you get used to the after-taste.I had hoped I could just avoid the Witch's main body, but it seemed like the center of the Labyrinth was dead ahead. On second thought, I could probably use the additional Grief Seeds. There was no way to tell how long I was going to be here nor how my Soul Gem would react to certain... stimuli. This thing would pay for getting in my way.As I closed the distance, the maze started to shift and change, as if trying to interdict passage. Several layers' worth grew out to block the path but I incinerated right through and charged in ahead. The hedges tried to close behind and in front of me to trap me inside, but it was a futile gesture since I could just--what?==[4/10]
>>36897419Its not his writeups. Its a single person who clearly has it out for Malal who's using the anonymity of 4chan in a crusade against the guy.
A number of different vines, smaller and thornless ones, all converged on me. This time I didn't have enough space to move to avoid them all and many pierced right through while others coiled around my limbs. I immediately tore through but I could already feel the harm was done; poison was starting to sap my strength. Another horde of vines was generated by the vegetal mass and flew right back at me, putting me back in my precarious situation despite the swipes of my claws slicing down many. This was going to be a problem.I gritted my teeth when a dozen more green needles stabbed through my body, but I'd be damned if 'id let this pathetic creature do me in now. I let it play its game with its poison and think I was growing weak and harmless, but its sadistic ways would be a fatal flaw as I closed my claws into fists and built up magic within. The process took no more than 10 seconds, but with the assortment of poisons numbing at my senses and the complete darkness I was in, it felt like more. Isn't it peculiar how even while looking like non-sentient beasts, Witches like this can still savour inflicting pain on others?Another disembodied, out of this world shriek resounded as I immolated myself and everything else in a large radius, reducing my entire vegetal prison to ashes. The Hedge seemed to "recoil" in pain, temporarily stunned and making no attacks. This was fortunate, because my own body didn't make it unscathed either; my kimono had been destroyed and most of my skin was burned. My regeneration kicked in as I reached into my inventory for my Rose, flicking the container open and taking an extra-strong dose to counteract the poison.==[5/10]
>>36897478I find it amusing that even the people who hate write-ups entirely are baffled by this guy.
My body flinched and recoiled as well. The drug wasn't an antidote, far from it, so instead of "curing" the poisons, it was more like having two hostile unnatural substance fighting for control over your body by flooding it with complete opposite effects. Not a very good solution, but it'd have to do for now.I shoved the metal container right back into my Inventory and moved on. The Witch was still writhing from my last trick so I needed to seize the initiative even though my body would still take a bit longer to heal those burns.I sprinted, giving all my speed into getting through the last of the maze despite my body's protests. Learning to ignore those were one of the first things any Eversor needed to do anyway. That was especially true when you were a Monat with no teammates to rely on to save your ass when you get in trouble. The gates opened of their own and the sight I was greeted by was a particularly nasty one. Untold numbers of giant and mutated plant life were fused into one deformed and senseless abomination that would actually be worthy of the "indescribable Eldritchian horror" label medias seem to be so fond of nowadays. What really struck me though were the roots. Giant, impossibly large, half-exposed quivering roots that reached outwards from the central room. As I saw them I finally understood; the entire labyrinth IS the Witch's body.A gaping maw opened from one of the twisted monstrosity's sides and it puked out what I could only describe as a torrent of acidic bile in my general direction. I managed to jump high enough to avoid the bulk of it, but some splashes hit my legs with a sickening sizzle. And I had just healed that too, bastard... I landed on my hands because the inner damage to my legs wouldn't let them support my weight until they were healed. I immediately pushed, propelling myself back into the air and adjusting to an upside down vision.==[6/10]
A lone tendril much larger than the previous ones -large enough to break my body in half if it hit - surged forth from the main body of the Witch while I was in mid-air, but my claws went through its mass like butter, cleaving it into impotent halves while I prepared my magic. With my legs too damaged to stand and my hands thus busy I had to improvise and gathered mana by my feet. They were damaged, but not too damaged for me to find them a use.As I landed once more on my hands I flung forward two bolts of volatile energy with my feet, using my legs' remaining muscles. I was unbalanced by the endeavor and narrowly avoided falling forward flat before I pushed again and returned to mid-air. The attack didn't do much damage to the thing's sheer mass, but it bought me time as the Witch brought forward a thick weave of vines to shield itself. I repeated the process two more times before I was finally able to land on my feet once more, my regeneration having handled the acid by then. The green mass belched some sort of distorted roar as it dispersed its blackened weave-shield. several more maw-like appendages rose from the main body in the twisted image of giant, bastardized versions of carnivorous plants filled with more rows of teeth than the nastiest of sharks. It was in times like this that I missed my old chainaxe. My claws could pierce nearly anything with ease, but they lacked the raw destructive power to just mow sheer mass and bulk down expediently.==[7/10]
I didn't have much time for regret as the ground I had been standing on mere fractions of seconds earlier was now filled with a giant mess of green cells and teeth that chewed at the soil with a disgusting noise punctuated by suctions. I landed onto it and sliced it open before getting back in motion. The giant appendages chased me, trying to corner me as they lashed and trashed, but I had recovered enough by now to keep them at bay, detonating or slashing down one whenever I had the chance. I managed to win some ground inwards, making my way towards the central body as I kept the appendages bu--Darkness.Ok what the fuck. How does this damn Witch keeps managing to blindside me like that, it's getting embarrassing. No, more importantly than that, why the fuck does it keep trying to eat me? Can't it see I'm not edible? If this stupid thing tries to eat me one more time I swear on the Blessed Lady's holy bosom I'm going to have Grief Salad tonight.More acid rained down onto my body as I detonated another Doombolt inside the death trap of a flower but I paid it no mind. At this point my whole body had been wrecked three times over and reached far past the point where lesser Magical Girls would have been long dead, but injuries meant nothing when you had a goal that you were ready to lay down your life for. I could feel the magic flowing literally through my body as it held me together and fueled my body, replacing tissue and tendons where they had melted. I had enough of this Witch, so I prepared a grand finale for it. My speed increased, further fueled by Empyrean energies as I weaved through more of the vegetal abomination's defenses and finally reached directly above its towering mass, baleful powers flaming upon my claws.==[8/10]
"If you want me this badly then HAVE SOME YOU SHIT!"It opened its giant, primary maw and I dove, only to unleash a few seconds later utter destruction from within. Bolt after bolt after bolt, I continued with a vengeful fury until the Witch was nothing but charred stains across the central room and at the height of which I almost lost myself to destructive frenzy... and hunger...I replenished my Grief Seed stash as the Barrier fell apart and I only now realized my... lack of any clothing whatsoever. My body had been burned so much that not even a single shred of my kimono remained. This wouldn't have bothered me all that much, but I was unable to head back to get a new one. I had to press forward... but on the flip side I couldn't let her see me like that. Not after all this time. Not after she probably forgot about me. I couldn't just stroll up to her stark naked she'd think I was some kind of fucked up sexual devi-- ok maybe I -am- that but I still have standards.I needed to find some sort of solution and FAST. My mind raced to try to come up with something, but kept drawing blanks, the stress helping no one. Urgency and frustration rose when the seconds became minutes and I grew increasingly impatient, boiling inside at my own inability to find something, until finally I was inspired.Ribbons.Of course, I had heard stories that she could craft all sorts of things from her ribbons so if I tried to apply the same logic, then perhaps, just perhaps, while I'm in here...==[9/10]
>>36897498Baffled by the Malal harassment? Dude is a shit head, it isn't all that confusing even to the anti-write up people, such as myself.
Strands and treads of Unreality were pried apart by my fingertips and weaved themselves together, almost as if they had a mind of their own, guided by the designs in the back of my mind. When I looked back down it looked like I was clad in a Barrier, literally. The cloth was iridescent and colors flowed across it like the reflections of the skies on a body of water. Honestly, it was beautiful, entrancingly so, and I had to take several second to manage to pry my eyes away. But I had wasted so much time already, I needed to hurry and reach my destination before the trail grew too cold.==[10/10]

Five Red Petals Chapter Two - Sausage LinksI wasn’t really a fan of breakfast food.Scrambled eggs weren’t really my thing. And sausage links would always be so goddamn oily to the point where it started to give you a headache. Eh, whatever. At least the pancakes had cinnamon in it.Not that I was much a fan of pancakes, either. Much less breakfast food at all. God, these fucking sausages. The cafeteria was kind of what you’d expect from a military base: ordinary white tile floors, ordinary white walls, ordinary white ceiling and lights.…Jesus, how long have I been here anyways? Must’ve been at least… two hours or something. I mean, there wasn’t much to do, but just sitting here feels so… so idle. Unproductive. Something like that.I pushed aside my plate for the tenth time and checked my watch. Still a good hour till we were supposed to leave. Why the hell didn’t I sleep in a bit longer?“C’mon, Eve. Eat up. Can’t fight on an empty stomach.”Lauren shot me an innocent glare from across the table, as if were in a game of chess and I had just captured her Queen. Not every day you hear a chess metaphor, is it. And so, the plate found itself back in front of me, the only thing changing being the amount of holes in the sausages and eggs, while the pancake slowly disappeared. Very slowly. Painfully slowly.
>>36897644“I’m not even hungry.” I cut a sausage in half with my fork, then cut it up some more.“Are you full?”“No.”“Then keep eating.”God dammit. I mean… they’re not even vegetables - not that I skip out on those. Can’t I just go?“What’re you going to do till four, anyways?”…Tch.“I was just kidding, by the way. Just sit tight, Cynthia and Rachel’ll be here soon, anyways.”Are you serious?…Popped another sausage and chunk of pancake into my mouth, glaring and almost grinning at Lauren. She gave me another evil look. Checkmate.= =Took them long enough. The two girls walked through the double doors, and despite the lack of a grandiose look, drew the attention of… well, most, if not all, of the cafeteria. Teenage girls at a maximum security prison headquarters, something you don’t see everyday.Cynthia clutched a bunch of papers in one hand, her short, twin blonde twintails giving her figure more… flow - I guess - with every step.Rachel, on the other hand, had dirty blonde hair tied in a bun under a baseball cap. I mean, I guess that’s enough justification? No one really wears something as casual as a baseball cap here. Just helmets, wheel covers, and garrison caps. Or something else related.Cynthia threw her papers onto the table as I pushed aside my plate, unrolling them, revealing a map of Varrigan City. Rachel laid her rifle on one side of the paper to keep the paper from rolling back up.
>>36897680The city was a triangle, kind of. Cynthia’d really taken the time to play with it. Sections of the city were labeled: “Horzine HQ” next to “Casino Town” in the northwest corner of the island, “Chinatown” directly south of that. “Downtown” was more of a generic area, stretching into the bottom corner, and the residential district filling up the northeastern corner. And some kind of huge natural park was smacked right into the center of the whole thing.“Is a plan really the best idea?” Lauren sighed, eyes scanning the map. “I doubt we can stick to any kind of plan in such a… place. She was right, I think. Where the hell did she get all this info, anyways?“Previous excursions. And we can definitely keep a plan. We’re magical girls, we’d be able to force anything upon anyone.” Cynthia crossed her arms, puffing her chest with confidence, seemingly unwilling to budge from her statement.Just saying that seemed like a death flag.“Mmm? Is that why half the last group didn’t make it back?” Lauren stole a sausage from my (pushed aside) plate.“They pro’lly just screwed up hard. Nothing we can’t not do.” Miss Tactician pointed out a big circle with the letters “DZ” in it. “This is where we’re dropping off. Residential district, then we’ll be heading along the highway into Chinatown, then up to Horzine. Survive fucking everything. Evac’s wherever we pop a smoke.”
>>36897698“…That’s it? I thought you were planning something more bold, with everything you got planned there.” Lauren popped another sausage into her mouth. Rachel took a seat next to me and decided to take one of her own, too.“I’m not stupid enough to not realize that flexibility is key. I honestly don’t even know half ‘f what the hell we’re gonna see out there.” She then pointed to several points marked with crosshairs. “Did make sure Rachel could have a bit of fun though, with that rifle of hers.”Rachel smiled a bit.“Flight leaves in like half an hour. I’ll see you all at the chopper.”[4/4]
>>36897629Because it is so comically over done I almost think it is a writefag trying to promote Malal's crap. Seriously, the write ups are shit, but this is not the way to go about voicing any effective discontent. It will just make the write up writers more of a self contained ego circle jerk snd make decu throw blind support behind them instead of listening to people who have an actual issue with the write ups.
>>36897723Thanks for posting, steph! That was a fun read.
>>36897742That makes no sense as a reply to my question. I'm asking how you'd know Malal is a shit-head when they have made approximately zero posts in MGNQ, all of which are completely unremarkable or just write-up posts. So how would you know what they're like, anon?
---= SOLATIUM || PART 1 || ARXBOUND =---Where the hell is it!? I had swept my vision across the large room I stood in several times now, my focus entirely on my senses of sight and hearing. I had been hunting this witch for several days now, yet it's managed to evade me at every turn. After all, it's the first time that I had to deal with one that could turn invisible at will. At first it baffled me how something so large was so hard to find, but after I had witnessed one of its familiars fade from view it all made sense. It was only a matter of time before I found the 'boss room' after that, this witch had no choice but to face me so long as I was--The moment my ears caught the rush of air, my shield went up, just in time to meet the impact. I pressed my central weight down and dug my heels into whatever strange material the ground here was made of. In addition, I angled my shield to try to deflect the giant object that just crashed into me, though the fact I couldn't see it made it hard to judge what it was exactly. An intense silver glow had appeared at the point of impact, which quickly dispersed down my body. The moment it reached the ground under my greaves, a spider web of cracks radiated out along the surface, the shockwave kicking up dust and debris. Regardless of what it looked like, it felt like a truck just tried to run me over, and if it wasn't for my magic the damage would likely have resembled that. Now wasn't the time to worry about these things, though. In the next instant, the weapon in my other hand had thrust up in a counterattack, and the blade at the tip stabbed into something rock hard. That was when I pulled the trigger.(1/7)
>>36897752Thanks, haha!Also by laughing like that, I swear I'm not Decu~
>>36897798<BANG>The loud burst vibrated my body to the very core, followed shortly by the monstrous screech of the witch as it had become visible. The witch's arm, which ended in a mace shape, literally hung off of it by a couple of sinews. The witch's form was nothing special, resembling a tall humanoid with no head and a single large eye at chest height. The part that did catch my attention though were the peculiar wings on its back, which looked like they comprised of undulating, papery shadows.Without skipping a beat, I had drawn back my weapon and swung it downwards, the blade sparked as it struggled to cut through the witch's skin. Once it reached the end of the arc and collided with the ground, I hammered on the trigger as many times as I could, each pull had let loose another loud burst into the legs of the hideous being. Another inhuman shriek pierced my now dulled hearing, as it collapsed down, surely unable to escape at this point. I jumped back out of the way as it had swung at me with its last good limb. My hair blew wildly to the side from the gust of air as the large mace whizzed past me. I distanced myself a bit further with another kick back, and pressed the release lever near the handguard, causing the breach to flip open. The empty shells had subsequently ejected from this action, as they clattered around me and left a heavy scent of gunpowder. In a movement that I had practiced time and time again, I loaded new shells into the revolver cylinder, and used a downwards swing as momentum to shut it with a loud snap. I had already begun to walk forward, the plates of my armor clanked together with each step. It was time to finish this monster off once and for all.(2/7)
>>36897795I am saying the guy making the posts is just being a shit head. Calm your tits.
>>36897795I... I think you misread that. Really nothing to start a fight over, here.>>36897742For what it's worth, at this point they're entirely right about my writeups causing trouble in the threads. I've also been requesting and receiving criticism over on ask.fm for the week and a half or so since this started in earnest. >>36897644Glad to see you back! That was a pretty good read. Looking forward to more.
>>36897809Nah, for that you'll need exactly 3 "ha"s, no spaces in between, followed by exactly 1 exclamation mark.Don't actually do it, though, or deculture will get angryLike, REALLY angryI-I'm sorry, deculture, I've learned my lesson, I won't do it again WAIT PLEASE NOT THE WHIP
>>36897817As I stopped a few paces from the witch, it seemed to just glare at me and let out a low growl. That's fine, it just makes this all the easier then. I crouched down a bit, once again to center my weight, as my thumb flipped up the small lid that covered a red button. I pointed the barrel straight at the witch's eye and pressed the button, which caused the weapon to whir up and emit a loud hum. The cylinder that held all the shells began to turn, and rapidly fed each shell into the long barrel, as a bright orange light seeped from the opening at the end.The witch suddenly let out a snarl and reeled back, before it flipped like a wheel and slammed it's mace arm down on top of me. I barely managed to move my shield up in time as the impact struck me, several tons of force striking into me from above. The light flared up again where it struck, but it was not as bright as last time. The attack I had been charging draws a lot of magic power from me, after all. The damage was still dissipated around me, the mace arm had been close enough to crack as well, but it hadn't been enough this time. It was as if a rocket had just ignited in front of me, as the gunlance erupted into a focused beam of fire, which struck the witch right at the core of its body. I struggled with all I had to keep myself in place, my greaves dug grooves into the ground, as the effects of both this and the witch's attack caused my bones to fracture and my organs to rupture. With a final shriek, the witch disintegrated from the intense explosion of energy. I couldn't hold my ground any longer, and was thrown off my feet, the explosion caused my body to skid backwards until a wall quickly stopped me -- forcibly. There was only darkness as my conciousness faded.--After taking a deep breath, I slowly exhaled and stretched my arms under the comfortable weight of the armor plating that covered most of them. >>36897826Ah, I did misread, although that's definitely a case of stating the obvious to such an extent I automatically read more into it.
>>36897872It had been around a week now since I had been at our home base -- Arx -- one of the most difficult to locate places in this entire country. I wouldn't be so brash as to say the entire world, though. After all, I haven't been /everywhere/ in the world -- a lot of places surely, due to my line of work -- but not even close to everywhere possible. Of course, I would love to continue to explore the world, that was always a big part of my dreams. That being said, my only regret in having become part of a private military company is that I can't choose exactly where my jobs are located. The Arx on the outside isn't much to look at, as it is almost entirely underground. If anything, it's so plain that you'd probably think it was just a normal house in a rather bad neighbourhood. Despite this though, don't take the security lightly. You'd be sadly mistaken. With these thoughts swimming in my mind, I grasped the doorknob of the frosted glass door and swung it open. It was always necessary to duck so that the tip of my weapon could safely pass through with the rest of me. The wood trimming at the top of the frame was worn and full of pockmarks, a visible history of those who didn't pass with as much consideration. I think it's about time they got a bigger door."Ahh! Pira!" Speak of the devil, there she is now. "Thought I'd never see your tin can of an ass again, must have been quite the job for it to take you so long this time."My expression twisted into a frown. I'll have you know that my armor is NOT composed of such /paltry/ metal, it is made ENTIRELY of -- ergh, there I go again. I quickly shake my head, my long hair lashed outwards from the motion, locks of fading bright gold caught my eye within the normally silver tresses.(4/7)

>>36897942Around the same moment in time, the girl that currently sat on the edge of her desk began to giggle. Her name was Nemi, the leader of Solus, crimson hair and a fiery temper to go along with it. The long braided ponytail tied behind her head was flipped over her shoulder, and hugged the generous curves down the front of her body. She usually kept it like this, which had resulted in me confusing it for a red scarf originally. Beside her, propped against the desk sat a massive weapon, someone's twisted idea of a sword and shield. I mean /really/ twisted, but when I consider the person that designed it, it doesn't come as a surprise. After all, they were the same culprit behind the creation of my very own weaponry -- the gunlance strapped to my back. Nemi's 'charge blade' was huge, at minimum the size of an average person in length, and entirely custom made for her. The large shield part was engraved with Solus's emblem on the surface -- the Ouroborus."I see you still have that crazy hair shit going on, not that you've ever properly explained to me what the fuck it is." Her hand gently caressed and fiddled with the end of her ponytail absent mindedly as she continued to look at me. I could only shrug in response. It's not like I had a clue either, if anything I want to know just as much as she does. I turned around and shut the door behind me, before I found a seat in one of the comfy chairs near Nemi's desk. She continued to stare down at me in silence, then let out a brief sigh and gave an exaggerated shrug of her own.(5/7)
>>36897950I-I still have the bruisesThey hurt even when I sleep
>>36898003"Pira, a girl of few words as always. I may as well be talking to the fucking wall. At least you follow orders, I can give you that much." After she spat out her idea of a compliment, she twisted around in place and grabbed a fancy crystal glass full of an amber liquid. It was likely full of some sort of whiskey, or whatever sort of booze she decided to down regardless of the time of day. She held out the glass towards me and intended to offer me the contents, but I just shook my head. There are certain vices in this world that I take part in, but alcohol isn't one of them. Another shrug followed -- she tipped the glass back and downed it in one go, the soft lights in the room gleamed off of the beveled surface. My gaze wandered away, as I glanced around at the contents of the office space, kept nice and tidy. No doubt the work of Nemi's secretary -- poor soul. All of the various paintings and decor that Nemi kept in here were in a pristine condition, and this didn't surprise me in the slightest. She really hated when things were messy, to the point of being OCD about it. Hence the sympathy for the aforementioned secretary."Judging from the fact that you're here in front of me, and obviously not some sort of ghost, I take it the job was a success in the end? Well, what 'm I saying, 'course I know it was already. Ah just sorta wish I could geh some goddamn feedback from ya here, you fuckin' silen' type er always ah pain 'n the fuckin' ass when it comes ta' debriefinnn'..." She roughly placed the glass back on the desk, the solid clink emphasized her increasingly inebriated words. It was clear she was getting drunk way too fast, her face had started to blush the same shade of red as her hair. Damn it Nemi, this is why you shouldn't drink booze...(6/7)
>>36898053"...Yah...Yah listen ta me, Pi...Pier?" Nemi slipped off the desk in a bit of a staggered motion, before she leaned over in front of me as I remained seated. Her face was flushed so much, I couldn't tell if she was embarassed that her cleavage was now draped in my face or if it was just the alcohol. "J-Jus...you wait, I'll make ya taalllkk eventually, ahh bet youu sound rehhly cute toooo~" As she managed to slur out her statement, she fell into my lap, then promptly passed out on top of me. I wish I could act surprised at this turn of events, I really do, but unfortunately it's a pretty common occurance. Nemi is an excessively light drinker, yet she always hits the bottle the moment there's something to celebrate. It's then that I start to gently pet the top of her head, as the leather interior of my gauntlets creaked in response. I wonder where my next job will take place? What will it entail? Who will I need to kill?I came to find out, and all I got was a snoring red-head in my lap. Oh well.(7/7)
>>36898113And that's it! Thank you for reading!
>>36898158But I didn't read it.I skip all the write ups.
>>36898222Look at the qt3.14 being so tsun-tsun toward the writeups...
>>36898275>tsun-tsunMAkes sense. Why else would they wait around after Chikuwa and read the writeups only to complain about it afterward?
>>36898433Maybe they are like me and asked deculture something, and are now waiting around in the vain hope he didn't just cut and run after getting reasonably polite feedback?
>>36898544He went to bed, I think. Try hitting him up on ask.fm.
>>36898613Just frustrating he asks for feedback, then essentially cuts and runs so the writeups become the only reason to "stick around" as the other guy said.
>>36897856Don't listen to him, you are fabulous.
