Welcome to the LVI installment of "Disney Villains Victorious."Disney Villains Victorious is a new /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole. It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog. It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+Victorioushttp://1d4chan.org/wiki/Disney_Villains_Victorious

>>36838060---Description---An ancient alligator changed by voodoo long ago? A beast from the Other Side? An alligator that a Friend is using as a cheval? No one, save Facilier, Mama Odie and himself, knows exactly what Caimán Diablo is, but there are a few things everyone knows about him. For instance, he takes the shape of an alligator over 30 feet long, as black as night save for his light purple underbelly and the glowing light green inside his jaws. His teeth are as long and thick as tent pegs and sharp as razors, while his eyes contain an unnatural spark. If you go into the bayou, he will find you, unless you stick to the areas he is too large to access, in which case he'll send mundane alligators after you. Either way, when you are found (when, NOT if) you must offer tribute if you wish to live. The proper tribute is a lamb or any larger red meat animal that has been specially marinated; however, a chicken or larger white meat animal that is properly marinated will suffice on the condition that you go back the way you came. Beef jerky with barbeque sauce will get you a 10 second head start, 30 if Diablo's feeling generous. Though it might work for the alligators he commands, never offer fish to Diablo himself. Trust me, he'll do worse than killing you.
>>36838079Though they are completely independent of each other, Facilier benefits from Diablo's presence. All but the most foolish of those who seek Mama Odie or wish to flee their debts through the bayou will prepare tribute. However, both marinades for tribute include gunpowder and ground up dried shrimps among their ingredients. Since dried shrimp isn't used at all in the local cuisine except for a select few gumbos, anyone who purchases dried shrimp and gunpowder (including munitions, especially if they don't have the proper guns) is almost certainly planning to do something in the bayou soon. By keeping tabs on who purchases those items and cross-referencing, he can identify these people and inform everyone whom they owe a debt, putting them further in his own debt. However, there is another detail about Diablo that most do not know. He is far smarter and more knowledgable than any alligator should be; far more than most men are, even! He is especially knowledgable about history, ancient languages and above all the occult. And he is certainly smart enough to know that when someone brings him a bull or prize hog when a lamb or chicken would've sufficed, they want him to share his many secrets....I hope you're satisfied.

>>36839107I like what's being done and it's not easy to post more than encouragement from an iPhone while at work. Still plodding along with that Atlantean story though.

New traits for everyone!>Iron JawOnce per encounter, you automatically ignore the first Physical Strike you take.>Iron Shirt Technique 1When using Prevent Harm, you can choose to take a -2 penalty on the roll. If you do, the attack inflicts one/two less strikes, to a minimum of one.>Iron Shirt Technique 2As long as your Prevent Harm is higher than half than the opponent's attack skill he inflicts one less strike per attack, to a minimum of one.>Iron Shirt Technique 3 As long as you are using this techniques all physical attacks inflict one less strike, minimum one. >>36841805I can help. Here is some information from the Beast Character Creation entry for primates. Let's see what we can adapt:>Natural Weapons: Punch, Grapple. >>36841846You are funny guy, anon. I'll kill you last.>>36842035Ah yes, now I've got a mechanic in my head. Somebody remind exactly how we agreed music works now.
I'll post what I have so far, as I continue working on the piece. Sorry it's taking so long.“I do hope this is important, Thatch.”Imperial President Rourke drawled as be and Milo Thatch found themselves traversing another drippy, cavernous chamber, the older man paying no attention to the ancient beauty of the vast, colonnaded hall, the mosaic of the constellations on the ceiling high above or the riot of academic and military personnel milling around them. Clapping one large hand on the Historian General’s shoulder, the older man spoke in that droll, patriarchal tone that he always used when trying to make light of something that he actually found deeply irksome.“I get no more than three waking hours to myself a day, and instead of spending those three hours enjoying the Commandos game on the radio with a stiff drink and a fine cigar, you’ve got me tramping around in a soggy basement.”Although he had been cowed by Rourke’s fatherly bullying in the past more times than he would care to admit, Milo Thatch had done some growing up in the twenty years since Atlantis had rose above the waves, and to his credit did not so much as flinch at the man’s cantankerousness or the weight of his heavy hand. Favoring his President with a look of hard-won authority, the bearded, bespectacled man replied in a voice that was steady and certain enough to quell Rourke’s irritability. For the moment, at least.“Oh, I think you’ll find your time here in this “soggy basement” better spent once you see what I have to show you, Sir. And besides, Communications General Packard records all the games anyway.”“Alright, alright, but listening to prerecorded baseball isn’t the same Thatch, and you know it.”
>>36843533Walking side by side, the two high-ranking government officials made their way down a particularly grand staircase, men and women trucking equipment down to and artifacts up from their newest archeological discovery on a makeshift rail system saluting them as they descended further into the lower reaches of the Atlantean Imperial Capitol. Though it was difficult to determine their exact position in the maze-like depths, Milo knew that they were now somewhere far below the Heart Chamber and the A.C.P. R&D Center by the way the crystal pendants around their necks didn't seem to glimmer quite as brightly, probably due to some sort of radiation-shielding material used in the construction of these deep and secure places. Even with all the archeologists and soldiers he constantly found himself surrounded by, Milo always felt oddly lonely there all the same, a feeling not assuaged now by his long-time employer and the jocular enthusiasm with which he has begun talking about Atlantis' favorite adoptive pastime.
>>36843560Aside from establishing the Atlantean Baseball League as one of his first executive acts, once his Presidency had been made legitimate Rourke had sent out exploratory teams to poke their noses into every nook and cranny they could find, of declaring it the duty of the new government to rediscover any and all "cultural relics" that had been lost to the ebb and flow of time, "for the benefit of the Atlantean people into posterity." Milo knew full well that what the blustering generalissimo had really been looking for were scraps of Atlantis' ancient legacy of crystal technology to exploit and reverse-engineer in the same way he had coerced Princess Kida and harnessed the power of her Crystal Heart toward forwarding his own ambitions. Despite this knowledge however, Milo had accepted his appointment to the position of Historian General out of a sense of responsibility for the Atlanteans' wellbeing after the loss of the Royal Family and Rourke's almost explicit threat that irreparable damages would befall the island nation's historical sites if the exploratory teams didn't have an actual academic in charge. These halls and chambers, buried under millennia of palatial sprawl and hundreds of feet of water, were one of a half-dozen such newly-discovered sites around the city currently being researched, and had until very recently been completely flooded, explaining the sogginess that Rourke had complained of. The squelch of both men's boots against the wet tile, the cool clamminess of the air and the omnipresent sounds of bilge pumps and miles of gurgling plumbing attested to the fact that the team of engineers working under the Historian General continued to struggle with keeping the ocean from seeping back into the underpinnings of the city.
>>36843589"All I'm trying to say, Thatch,"The older man said magnanimously as they reached the bustling rail depot and command center at the bottom of the broad staircase:"Is that you simply cannot beat the thrill and immediacy of watching the sport live. I tell you, it breaks my heart knowing that I've got that Presidential box at Plato Stadium and no time to enjoy it."
Alright guys, I'm gonna get to my computer in about 40 minutes and try to stat up Gaston, Clayton , and maybe Fergus. We are getting this shit done in the next two threads, damn it

>>36844486>>36844512>>36844597Truly, no one gets statted like Gaston. Except for the other Hunters, sort of.

>>36844983What movie is that from and what is the context?Anyhow, I just wanted to leave you guys with Dread's new profile pic before going to bed. Also, I've got Louie's powers under wraps (it's all song and dance), so suggestions for his traits would be greatly appreciated.

>>36845210Megamind, which is one of Dreamworks better films, and I forget the exact context, but it involves that character being incredibly stupid, yet absolutely terrifying after he gains Superpowers(he's the ultimate parody of the Nice Guy concept)>>36845069as I've mentioned in prior threads, we should have a human version of Woody be the ultimate badass of Alameda Slim's territory, one of the few Lawmen working for Slim who actually takes his job seriously(Slim keeps him around both because of how effective he is at his job, and because he's worried about what would happen if he fired him, since the people love him so much)
>>36845793Adding Clayton up to the wiki now. This makes for FIVE more Kings to stat.I CAN COUNT ITON ONE HAND
>>36846175CAN YOU ALL TASTE THE BETA?CAN YOU FUCKIN' TASTE IT, EVERYBODY?
>>36846297Uh, we're not gonna really have anything to discuss after we make the beta PDF while playtesting to tune it into a final is going on, though.
>>36846989We'll have make a whole new setting and we've barely explored it. I'm quite sure we can at the very least fill the future with ideas for adventures and character concepts or something.Possibly discuss which rules people feel like they'll homebrew or change in their games. Besides, there's a whole lot of splatbooks, expansions, and whatnot.I think we'll be fine
>>36846989There's still plenty of fluff and art and characters and enemies to make. Worry not.
>>36846105>Real life woodyYes
>>36846989After the Betas done, we can begin with Villains Victorious: Gridlocked Man, that title is fucking bad ass
Alameda Slim has not yet claimed immortality like most (if not all) other Kings. In my mind, he has aged and looks a little like Teddy Roosevelt.
>>36849364Keep in mind that various kings have been in-world for wildly differing amounts of time. We haven't drawn up the official timeline yet but it was generally agreed Shan Yu has been struggling in China for a longass time (40? 50 years?) as the longest, Atlantis has been there second longest at somewhere between 30-20 years and Arrendelle's been there the shortest at a single year.
>>36843627When is the next bit coming out
What if some of the Ghibli villains were also victorious?>Sen either escapes before dark and leaves her parents (beginning) or guesses wrong and has to stay at the Bathhouse forever (end)>Sky Castle Laputa is successfully revitalized and used as a weapon, Ancient Robot Giants patrol the skies around it>The cleaning lady successfully exposes the lives of the Borrowers to the world, prompting scientific inquiry into these "little people">Howl either goes full Demon or is drained of his power by Suleiman, Scarecrow Prince is never returned to normal and the countries continue to be embroiled in war>That guy with the imperial mandate and his headhunters successfully kill the Forest God and makes it to sunrise; Ashitaka probably dies
>>36850199Ghibli was a topic in some of the earlier threads--I think most of Japan was given over to the spirits from Princess Mononoke in earlier iterations to appease Ghibli fans. They've since been removed, though.
So now that we're almost finished with the Kings, let's get to some smaller-scale Villains. The other 2 Horsemen would be good. Maybe some stuff from The Shadowlands?
>>36850758I can only think of one villain to serve maleficent, the Erkling. He's the only reason why Faciliers Friends haven't got a foothold in Europe, He only patrols during Winter thoughI would also like to see how Claude Frollo handles Nicodemus and Anduriel
>>36850950>Erkling.I mean't Erlking

>>36850199we might cover it in the non-Disney supplement, however we aren't completely sure about that though>>36850467kinda like Doomtown which will return in the eventual Toon supplement, and might get a small section in the Modern/Future supplement as well
>>36851098Oh,I wasn't expecting someone to as for me to stat this Guy, I honestly have no experience statting this sort of character. And this is coming from a guy who statted Grigori Rasputin for 1st edition D&D
where did everyone go?
>>36851592Writing a story, another longer one. I probably won't be able to post it until tomorrow.
>>36850950>>36850963>>36850982I'll have to look up who those guys are, but I would like to bring up something I mentioned many threads ago: Oberon and Titania (of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, not the Gargoyles) would be among Maleficent's villains. The easiest way to make them no longer a threat would be to serve as their marriage counselor.
>>36852450Dammit, I downloaded a pic just for that post, and I couldn't even remember to post it.
>>36851592Still alive, just got drawn away by the Korra finale and lesbians.Probably no update for the story this week--holiday shopping's been taking up my mind and I kinda need a break after crunching out this madness for around three or four weeks straight. If not, I might have a little something cooked up by Sunday night as a Christmas gift to the thread.
>>36849940I'm still working on it. It's slow going because writing doesn't come as easily to me as it does for some others, and I have a lot going on at work and with the family during the holidays this year.
>>36852998Take what time you need. Just remember to put more thought and effort into writing the climax; the climax being, of course, Rourke's reaction to Milo showing and explaining the mural to him.
>>36853126That's good advice, thanks. I have something in mind to make the reveal more impactful, it's just a matter of getting to that point and hitting the notes I want along the way. For as little as I wrote with as many mistakes as it has, its been reworked a lot.
>>36846105>>36849082But would he be the character represented by the toy from Toy Story, or would he be one of those toys transformed into a real cowboy Pinocchio-style?
>>36849091What would Gridlocked be? Tron/Wreck-It Ralph?
>>36853873Gridlocked covers Disney (and potentially other companies') films and properties set in the near-present and not-too-distant future like Tron, Wreck-It Ralph, Big Hero 6, the Incredibles, etc. etc. etc. It is a setting rife with supervillainy but also with the potential for superheroism, where a bank can be robbed and saved twice in a single day, and where cyberspace is a very real place where evil programs and good glitches battle for survival. There was talk of including WALL-E as well, under the conditions that Wall-E was able to get the Axiom to return to an Earthly wasteland, but Auto remains in control, keeping his human cargo happy and ignorant while sending out security bots on seek and destroy missions.
>>36837736does anyne have the rules for fairy/fey player characters?
>>36854452I hadn't even thought about them for a long, long time. Did we finish making rules for fairy PCs and NPCs? I can't even remember now, it was so long ago. We need more fairies around here.
I seem to remember talk of fairies when we started to crunch things out in earnest but haven't heard muh about them afterward either. I'm not sure whether that is because their racial specs were easily worked out of they got lost in the shuffle.
>>36854752We had also started on genies but we never agreed on their "magic" trait and everything was buried in the archives.
>>36855499Buried in the archives is, I think, the current status of fairies. I'm on my phone but may try to archive dive for the information.
Finished with the story. It's a bit harsher than usual, but then again, so is Frollo.http://pastebin.com/sqhLPXfg
where's everone gone?
>>36856633Harsh, yes, but you're exactly right in that Frollo is a harsh man. I think, despite all the fantastical villains we have in the world of DVV, that Frollo is one of the most frightening. His brand of evil is an entirely human evil without any trace of comedy or remorse, and that's a scary thing. I really liked the climax of the story and its callback to discussion of threads long passed.Still writing myself, but still at work.
FINALS ARE OVER! YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whnn9ReUV04! LET' 'S GET THE BETA OUT BEFORE CHRISTMAS BREAK IS THROUGH!
>>36857670I know for me personally, I live on America's east coast and am still at work and posting on my phone when I can. I think that there may be at least a few of us in the same timezone situation. Also, college finals and holiday season is upon us, so many posters may be busier than they normally would be with school or family matters. Lastly, we're reaching the end of the core-game creation phase of this project, and after fifty-six threads some of our longest-posting contributors may be starting to feel fatigued. It might feel a little disheartening when these threads hit dead-spots, but there are still plenty of us that want to participate and contribute. It might just take a bit longer.
I'm back and I want YOU statting the last kings.
It is all for naught.
>>36860878>>36862163I find myself in agreement. How could we possibly hope to stand against THAT monstrosity.
Once, we've finished the Huntsmen Club, King Louie and his Land and Rule need some expansion.
>>36843627Ignoring his President as tactfully as he could, the Historian General scanned the assembly of archeologists and their guard detail searching out the owner of one particular female voice, both gravelly and shrill, heard shouting over the din. Hoping somewhat uncharitably that his Site Chief's abrasive intellectualism might counter Rourke's parochial chumminess, Milo guided their steps toward the voice, saluting and being saluted by members of his team as they passed. After a few moments more the familiar figure of his Site Chief came into view, a short and rather heavyset young woman with a wavy bob of Atlantean hair, wearing a long, ratty coat over what looked to be a colorful muumuu. Gesticulating wildly as she harangued a group of new assistants almost half again her height, the raucous woman paid no attention to her boss or her president as they approached, Milo holding out one arm to stop Rourke from attempting to interject himself into the situation."... and you lunkheaded andouilles and lavettes could have done SO MUCH WORSE than that! You could have DISTURBED THE DIG! Mon dieu, why don't you THINK!? Vous êtes tous des crétins ! How many times must I tell you to be CAREFUL!? Avoir disparu d'ici ! BEGONE!"Not needing any further encouragement, the upbraided and abashed assistants were not so much dismissed as they were allowed to flee the Site Chief's wrath, leaving the short woman muttering venomously to herself in French as Milo finally closed the distance between them.
>>36864692"Nadine!"The Historian General called out, placing a friendly hand on the back of the older man beside him, easing him into his subordinate's line of fire."President Rourke has been kind enough to make time in his busy schedule to come down and see our big discovery. Say hello, won't you?"Not thrown off his game for a moment by Milo's off-the-cuff inclusion of a third to their little field trip, Rourke stepped forward, extending his hand to the young archeologist and putting on that amiable, fatherly smile he so often relied upon during public addresses and negotiations. Looking her president up and down with an appraising eye, Nadine reciprocated after half a moment’s contemplation offering her own hand to the man in such a way as to suggest that she was expecting it to be kissed rather than shaken. Quick on the uptake and ever adaptable, Rourke obliged the short woman by bowing and raising her grubby hand to his lips, much to Milo’s amusement. Suppressing a laugh but unable to completely prevent a grin from spreading across his bearded face at the spontaneous show of pageantry, the thinner of the two men reached out to pat them both on the arm and complete the introduction that he’d started.“President Rourke, this is Nadine Moliére, Gaetan’s daughter. You may remember meeting her at a when she was only a baby. She is my Site Chief here and one of the most talented archeologists working for the Atlantean government. Nadine, I’m sure you recognize Imperial President Rourke.”This bit of news did seem to bring a look of mild surprise to the older man’s face, followed quickly thereafter by a brief flicker of regret at the impromptu kiss before he recomposes himself, laughing heartily as he relinquishes the young woman’s hand, hooking his thumbs over the top of his belt.“Well I’ll be! One of Mole’s pups, digging in the dirt just like her dear old dad!”
>>36864755“Ce ne est pas tout à fait exact , Monsieur Président. I am not simply “digging in the dirt.” I am conducting a careful archeological excavation. Mais bien sûr, I can understand how one might think that.”The Site Chief corrected with an irked expression and a dour frown, making Milo feel a slight twinge of pride inside for his student.>Again, sorry for updating this story in drips and drabs.
>“Well I’ll be! One of Mole’s pups, digging in the dirt just like her dear old dad!”GODFUCKINGDAMMITYou caught me entirely off guard.Damn, /tg/ has been going at a glacial pace today. I'd start working on Louie again, but I've spent today drinking, eating burgers and fries, walking around the Royal Ontario Museum, drinking again and eating mushrooms steak pie and fries, so I'm in no shape for any sort of intellectual labor. The good news is that on January 24th, the Royal Ontario Museum is going to unveil a species of ceratops so new it hasn't even been named yet, so anyone who's going to be in Toronto around that time should check it out.
>>36864993Things are moving slowly, as there are a lot of reasons to be busy out in the world right about now. A visit to a museum is definitely a good reason.Speaking of Mole: we can see that he fancies himself something of a ladies' man in the movie, and even if Kida didn't care for his flirting I would imagine that he might have found a nice Atlantean lady who did fairly quickly. For the purposes of this story, Nadine is the eldest of six Moliére children and one of Milo's personal protégés.
>>36865412>Nadine is the eldest of six Moliére childrenMAY NEVER THE POTENCY OF THE MOLE BE DOUBTED
>>36865623Exactly. I like to imagine that Mole is blessed with a home life so absurdly happy and "normal" that it leaves his friends in the original Atlantis Expedition scratching their heads: living in a home he'd excavated himself from the side of a giant ruin with a doting Atlantean wife and a gaggle of well-behaved, if peculiar, children.
>>36866265That's....Damn.That's Disney as Fuck.
>>36866326>>36866265>Paying a visit to the Moliere Household one day to deliver an important communique from President Rourke.>The digger machine from the original Expedition sits prominently in the center of front yard, covered in both children's fingerpaints and children who greet you excitedly in English, Atlantean and French.>Reaching the front door is a challenge because of all the holes dug everywhere, presenting tripping hazards galore and a few "buried treasure" the children have unearthed in the process.>Maison de Moliere has been excavated from the side of a toppled Atlantean ruin, a playful riot of windows and balconies carved from the stone and decorated with colorful curtains and cloth awnings.>Mme. Moliere, a rather pretty and sweetly motherly looking Atlantean woman greets you warmly at the door, inviting you inside to take some refreshments while waiting for M. Moliere to return home.>The interior of the dwelling, while sprawling and cave-like is none-the-less wonderfully decorated and homely, and you are offered a mug of strong tea and a plate of vegetable dumplings in the parlor.>The older Moliere children greet you as they go about their chores, studies or diversions, one of whom you know to be Historian General Thatch's personal protégé in archeology.>Before all too long you hear a raucous cheer sound out from the front yard, followed by the front door opening, the tromp of heavy boots against the stone floor, and a gaggle of giggles and voices saying "welcome home Papa!">Stealing a glance into the foyer, you see Gaetan Moliere standing there in the doorway with his youngest children clinging to him like barnacles, looking tired but happy and standing up on tip-toe to kiss his wife hello.
>>36864692>>36864755>>36867483I accept this immediately as canon.
>>36867483>somebody says the word "dirt">he immediately runs inside his house and emerges with goggles and an overcoat and begins picking the PCs over
>>36867795With at least half his children crowding behind him, wanting to see.
>>36867795>begins picking the PCs overActually, Mole and his potential family would probably make great first time/low level government contacts for a party of PCs starting an Atlantean Campaign. He was in the movie so he has connections, but he's not such a central figure that they'd have a direct route to Rourke through him.
>>36869097Nah, "picking them over" in this context would consist of grabbing a PC's boot and promptly informing them that they're from Wales, they traveled for six months by Model Four submersible, and the floor in their house has termites.
>>36869145Oh, sorry, I understood that! The part I was meaning to highlight was just the fact that the PCs are interacting with Mole in the first place, and musing that he might actually be in an ideal position to use him and his family as NPCs without giving players the keys to the city right off the bat.
>>36868048>>36867795>>36867483>>36866326>>36866265>>36865623>>36865412Amazing. This is what I love about /tg/, and /dvv/ been doing it a lot and a good job of it: taking a sentence or two and both painting a scene and forging a plot hook from it. Makes me want to know what the other crew member's homes are like. Vinnie I imagine makes his home in the center of a massive crater he made experimenting with new explosive technology, while Milo spends his downtime trying to cuddle his crystal waifuWell, goodnight all, hopefully shit will get done tomorrow. Also, filename.
Here is my attempt to stat up Razoul to serve as a Villain for Jafar. The way I see it, Jafar gave him the sword and the ring to make him better at doing his job. Sorry if it isn't quite up to snuff, this is my first go at stating up a character for this.Name: RazoulRole: Strong GuyCountry of Origin: AgrabahSize: MediumSpecies: Human---Attributes---Robustness: 13/14Agility: 9/14Intelligence: 8/14Sensibility: 10/14Charm: 9/14Will: 3/3Strikes: 5+X2, where X is the number of party members. ---Skills---Athletics: 7Melee: 7 (+3 for Burning Scimitar)Brawl: 5Prevent Harm: 6Endure: 7Intimidate: 7Travel: 5Insight: 7 (+5 when looking for magical items or people carrying them)---Traits----Don't You Disrespect Me, Little Man!+3 to Intimidate if you have taken a Social strike in this Situation.-STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!!+2 to Melee and Prevent Harm against the criminal element.-Think You Hide from Me?+2 to Insight when attempting to detect people in Stealth. (Alternatively, people trying to hide from you suffer a -2 to their Stealth rolls, whichever works better.)---Powers----Captain of the GuardSpend one Willpower Point, Razoul summons 1+X1 Guard Lackeys.-Zealous ChampionCannot be dissuaded from upholding the laws of Agrabah by Illusions or social skills unless the other party spends a Willpower Point.---Equipment---Burning Scimitar: +3 to Melee and causes Burning.Ring of the Majus: +5 to Insight rolls to find or perceive magical items or people carrying them.
>>36869402I also wonder what the other members of the original Atlantis Expedition are up to. I can see Vinnie might have set up his flower shop in the middle of that massive crater you're imagining, with the building looking brand new after its latest reconstruction. His neighbors don't like him too much, as friendly as he is, and he has perhaps had to move his shop several times due to his explosive tendencies. As an engineering wunderkind, Audrey is probably leading up Research and Development for hybridizing WWI Era and Atlantean Crystal technologies, and as such may actually be the one with the greatest unrestricted access to Kidagakrystal.Milo I think would probably feel very guilty about bringing the Expedition to Atlantis in the first place, and would feel responsible not only for the original Atlantean's wellbeing but also for the wellbeing of all the Atlantean-American kids born in the years after their arrival. He might throw himself headlong into his work and do his best to make sure that Atlantis' history is made available to all.But more thought on these matters is best reserved till tomorrow morning. Goodnight to all those currently experiencing the night!
>>36869663It looks solid as far as I can tell, and I'm glad you'd statted him up given how prominent a roll he had in the movies and TV show. The sword and the ring definitely make sense, as Jafar would want to give his police force a leg up on any future street rats that might threaten his rule over Agrabah. You've definitely done a better job statting than I did my first time.
I'm going to have to be getting to sleep as well. Hope to see this thread come morning!
>>36843533>Thatch grows the beardBueno.
>>36869663Funny thing but wasn't he more or less a good guy that hunted Aladdin? At the least he respected Jasmine.
What if He's the one keeping Jasmine safe from Jafar?
>>36870380>>36870963Yeah. I had this idea while Razoul might not particularly care for Jafar, he still feels responsible for keeping Jasmine safe and crime under control.
>>36870988A possible ally against THE MOST POWERFUL SORCERER... IN THE WORLD?Sounds good so far.
>>36869782I like to think that Vinnie's flower shop and garden supplies retailer is normal, except when he uses the gardening chemicals, mechanical tools and CrystalTech to make a grenade launcher...This is what makes him the smart/sensible of the Expedition
>>36871954There's a giant horrible exoskeleton clad, tentacle sporting, horrifically oozing, inbred undersea nightmare looming out from the sea. It turns upon the Atlantean Fleet, Ursula's latest abomination that was created with one purpose, to destroy those that would dare spit in her eye.One man stands upon the deck of the ship. He turns to the crew, fear clear on their faces. They're uncertain if they'll survive the next few moments, and it is only by the barest of threads that their courages hangs. He raises his hand and makes an 'Okay' gesture."We've got white wine in the galley. We're good."
>>36872362I love how understated Vinnie is about everything he does.
>>36871374>>36870988>>36870963>>36870380The way I see it, Razoul is not necessarily an evil man, but is a strict man and a man who is about maintaining Law and Order in Agribah above all else. Jafar is by all appearances the legitimate ruler of the land and so Razoul does what he commands so long as those commands don't clash terribly with his own internal code, but in private he may have deep misgivings about the Sorcerer Sultan and worries about the fate of his Princess.I could see him occasionally and maybe subconsciously allowing some street rats to escape now as he struggles to reconcile what his Sultan bids him do against what he's actually seeing in the streets.
>>36873346>"Razoul, the Princess has been 'tricked' into following these usurping Infidels, I have But one simple task. Eliminate them,'all' of them."
>>36873377He would pursue the Infidels and hunt them down at his Sultan's behest, but I think that he is not so slavishly devoted to Jafar's will that he is beyond listening and reason after all that he's seen.
>>36873377When Jafar said 'all' he meant "well all plus the one that just joined them"
What time is it for everyone?
>>36873688Just turning 9:00 in the morning here and I'm still a touch groggy.
>>368736889:00EST, AM.>>36873346Do we have a statblock for him yet?
>>368736887amI'm up late.
>>36873736Look just a ways up the thread. Anon graciously stated him up for us:>>36869663
>>36872362>"We've got white wine in the galley. We're good.">"We ain't got any butter or tartar sauce though.">"You're a funny boy, just like your mother.">"Dad I'm being serious here.">"War is hell, son."Ladies and gentlemen, Vinny and Vinny Junior.>>36869663Excellent work. There's just one more trait he should have though:You Idiot, We All Have Swords!: This unit and any nearby mooks and Lackeys gain a bonus against fear equal to the Combat skill bonus provided by their weapons. Also you gave him 6 Prevent Harm while his other relevant skills are at 7, I presume that's a typo.
>>36873972Vincent Junior, yes.
>>36874060Vincenzo, excuse me.Vincenzo Santorini Junior: Often simply called "Junior" by those that know him well, is his father's partner in all matters of demolitions and floral arrangement, having inherited his notable abilities in both fields.
You know, if he lifted Atlantis up, what's been happening to the original inhabitants?Gotta remember Rourke was willing to basically commit genocide for cash moneys so I can't imagine them being well cared in anything but name if that.I mean, he's one of the greatest sources of hope I'm world he knows that, you know he's gonna find a way to leverage that to basically get to do whatever hell he wants.Atlantis probably would appear surface like a beacon of hope, but inside the people live in fear of him, those knowing life before Cherry Bingo fucked everything would resent him but keep their eyes and mouths shut for fear of him. Atlantians that survived would probably hate him, but powerless.Immigrants might actually make up the bulk of his supporters since nit bring able to think of act freely is bad, bit at least it's SAFE.
>>36874297Now that I think about it, the heroes start making world a better place, that might actually make Rourke less powerful as the rest world improves, his leadership may not be as needed, making people ask for things like elections, forcing into more more extreme measures to keep power as rest of the world becomes more Disney.Starting with just limiting info about the world outside to setting fire to dissidents to scare folk into line.Early ally later enemy.
>>36874297>Implying the Alantean arnt used to immortal tyrantsRourke is just one in a long line. Hell, it was the last king who got them sunk to the bottom of the sea after he tried to use the Crystal nuke. I mean, think of the THOUSANDS of Alanteans killed by the flood alone, then add in the war, the Levithans slaughter and then rest of the island sinking.Alantis wasn't the only Alantean city.
>>36874345I've seen the movie so far it seems he's more foolish than evil.Rourke on the other hand would force them into ghettos. The previous king how ever would probably allow them a measure of freedom.Really I see them becoming more and dissatisfied with his rule, before they could at least catch their own food, now they labour in shameful conditions for a tenth of the food they used to get.
>>36874297>>36874337>>36874345>>36874377The way I've been seeing it is, Rourke is more than happy to work with anyone willing to support him. He helped assemble and worked well with this huge multi-national, multi-ethnic team of mercenaries to discover Atlantis in the first place. He may be a callous and selfish man, but you can't really say that he's a sadistic one. He beat the Atlantean King not because he derived pleasure from it, but because the King wouldn't tell him where the Crystal Heart was, and he didn't so much commit a genocide against the Atlantean people as he took away a (super)natural resource they relied upon because he wanted it more. The core conceit of Atlantis as a nation in the DVV world is that Rourke decided that the city and by extension its in habitants were more valuable to him than the Kidagakrystal was alone, so I have to think that as long as the native Atlanteans were willing to fall into line, he would have no reason not to treat them as citizens, especially after his original team began intermarrying with them and having children.
>>36874467So basically he'll play nice with everyone assuming they support him don't however he will crush them with brutal pragmatism. Also he still beat up their king, I can't imagine many supporting him. Thus gettos.I would still think his country be devoid of quite a few rights that could it so could oppose him, like freedom of speech and information.
>>36874467>Lyle T. Rourke was born in 1860 and learned the ways of military life at an early age when his father, a cavalry officer named Lt. Col. Jackson, was killed in battle in 1864 during the Civil War.>After repeated expulsions from boarding school for fighting, Rourke resolved to follow in his father's footsteps and joined the military in 1875 at age fifteen. There, he exhibited a remarkable talent for leadership, owing to his analytic mind, charisma, and refusal to acknowledge the white flag surrender. He married in June of 1887, but his wife left him after only four months.>He held numerous expeditions during his career, most notably leading the Whitmore Expedition to Atlantis. The official bio.
>>36874550Disney official or DVV official? If it's the Larry I'd imagine he'd leave out the less nice parts.
>>36874588Latter not LarryDamn phone.
>>36874588Disney official, believe it or not.
>>36874503You have to remember that the beating of the Atlantean King and Princess Kida's merger with the Heart of Atlantis both took place behind closed doors with only the royals and the Expedition members in attendance. If Rourke decided, then and there, that he would be taking the entire city for himself, then he could very well have controlled the information that was disseminated to the Atlantean people about the fates of the Royal Family. Also, the Atlantean King had been purposefully keeping his people ignorant of their history and their former glory for thousands of years, to the degree that he had forbade them from learning their own written language. If ever there was a population ready to obey a strong authority figure and believe the propaganda he feed them, it was the Atlanteans. They may have had misgivings and fears about what had happened to the Royal Family, but Rourke was in a position of power and was offering them what he portrayed as a better life and a glorious rebirth of Atlantean civilization. While I agree that there should be slums and shantytowns around Atlantis' harbors and industrial districts, but I still don't think that they ought to be meant for native Atlanteans. I think that they ought to be for the immigrants and refugees that come pouring into the island nation who haven't yet taken their naturalization tests and are therefore considered to be second-class citizens.
>>36874622>>36874503Also, remember that in the DVV timeline he and his Generals have been in power for about a generation, give or take, so any initial opposition has probably been smoothed over by the present day.
Can I bring up one thing annoying me about Rourke? From of what I've seen, he's basically the good guy of the setting, suddenly he decides to a nation rather than sell it because... we need Rourke I'm Atlantis because it's cool?Really how EXACTLY did Rourke win and what was the context of their expedition?Did it start when world was fine when they came out OH GOOD GOD WHY ARE THERE AZTECS AND SKELETONS WALKING AROUND!?Or their world already fucked when they started on the trip?Or did they mashed them same as others? If that's the case I really have to wonder why Rourke didn't just leave Atlantis and take Kida.
>>36874749yeah, I don't get him eitherhim realizing that by controlling Atlantis means he is the most powerful man on Earth seems to be more in line with his character, but he seems to be coming across as a benevolent person.
>>36874802>but he seems to be coming across as a benevolent person. So did Hitler and Stalin before they went apeshit.
>>36874821Well when does Rourke go apeshit? Also neither of them were benevolent or seen such. They were seen as harmless until FUCK PURGES.
>>36874802I agree, he's practically a hero so far.
>>36874821Publicly, yes. They had carefully manufactured images for themselves. Rourke may put on a show of hospitality and whatnot, but at the end of the day he is entirely in it for himself. I would think he has Milo and maybe other members of the expedition who had second thoughts about the whole thing under some sort of house arrest. Maybe Audrey or Sweet too. Milo's every move is probably being watched.
>>36874875Let's put in a secret police East Germany style. Seems nice until you actually say the wing thing there, then you realize have no freedoms, safety sure but far less freedom than anywhere else on earth.
Rourke is a schemer, a crafty tactician and manipulator who is so charismatic he does it right out in the open. He couldn't care less about Atlantian history or culture, unless it means more power for him. I suppose the whole reason he is king in the first place is because he is holding Kidacrystal hostage, hidden, where only he has access to her.Maybe she speaks telekinetically out to the party's Atlantian characters from her cell.at least, that's my impression of him.
He's less a villain to his own people and more a villain to the rest of the world. He's a bully that strong-arms other nations into meeting his demands or simply goes in and takes what he wants. The only thing truly stopping him from wrecking EVERYONE'S shit is the fact that Atlantis is a small nation that has to use its advanced but proportionately small military very smartly. The people of Atlantis are not bad people, but they've been caught up in their president's patriotic fervor and see little problem with Atlantis extending its influence across the world. Also, there was discussion a long while ago that it was more flavorful to have some nations like Atlantis, Arendelle and Yzma's Sunless Empire exist in a kind of "moral grey zone" where their leaders could potentially be swayed toward becoming better people than who they are, or who at least may present the PCs with allies in their fights against more despicable ruler of more evil places.
>>36874953Exactly. Fuck having Atlantis and American culture merge, America first Atlantis only when it suits them.Maybe tree lower classes and more open minded members (say mole) get with Atlantians regularly, but more often if a native Atlantian wants to move up they have to basically get rid of their culture and become American (Rourke's version anyway) in name and acts.
>>36874749>>36874802>>36874909>>36874953The only reason that he's such a wonderful leader right now is because everything is working for him right now. If the general populace realize that he fucked over the Atlantean royal family to gain power, they'd probably protest, riot or even rebel.Rourke's playing nice right now because the people are. If he loses control, he'd probably go so far as to crystal nuke all of Atlantis out of vengeance/spite.
>>36875029Well, and everywhere else people could want to go is a much worse shithole. Except maybe EITC lands, but they're not British.
>>36875018>The people of Atlantis are not bad people, but they've been caught up in their president's patriotic fervor and see little problem with Atlantis extending its influence across the world.Except if we stick this they're right.Becaus>Scar>Maleficent>CHURNING BOBWhat reason would you have not want Atlantis take obey the Earth?
>>36875029That is true, why I had the idea of as world gets better, Rourke loses more control and Atlantis steadily gets wise and worse.
>>36875074>>36875029I can get behind this interpretation because it gives us the best of both worlds. At the start of any round of DVV campaigns, Atlantis seems like the best place to live because everywhere else is so awful, and Rourke can afford to be lenient with policing his nation because everyone loves Atlantis and everyone love its president. Belief in the "Atlantean-American Dream" is strong, and the people are more or less happy and full of patriotism.Because of this, many PC parties might be tempted to hold off on trying to fix Atlantis' problems until after they've dealt with some of the worse places in the world, only to realize that in doing so, the "Atlantean-American Dream" Rourke has been selling everyone on becomes less appealing and he grows more and more tyrannical in his attempts to remain in control.
>>36875155Exactly, we do that and I will be in love with Atlantis.Heck, get some writefags to show decent starting as more more nations off their oppressor.
>>36875051Not all rulers are as bad as the Horny King and Cherrybomb and Rourke is still a fascist greedy asshole. Many citizen would rather keep the devil they know.
>>36875210>>36875155It gives DMs the ability to chose how they want to portray Atlantis:>A tropical nation with its own problems and a bit of an issue with jingoism but full of hope for a bright future?>A tyrannical island prison ruled by an absolute dictator and full of terrible technology? It all depends on where the PCs are able to arrest Rourke's slide down that slippery slope between the two extremes.
>>36875155> party starts out as an Atlantian task to fix world> it's a pr stunt bitr the Party doesn't know that.> They do surprisingly well> start getting on a roll, freeing entire nations> at first Rourke liked this since it made him look good but now they're making the world look kinda good> unrest starts up because Atlantis actually kinda bad compared to liberated areas> the party has to either side him and retire or become his enemy now.
>>36875298You mean Radcliff and the EITC?That's like...two nations that aren't horrible compared to Atlantis. And you've already stated he ISN'T a devil.>>36875301I think it should progress from the former to the latter mostly because Rourke may not be worst man ever, but he's willing to do anything and throw away anyone for power.
My opinion on the whole thing is that the 4 most redeemable villains are, in order, Elsa, King Louie, Rourke and Slim. Elsa needs therapy possibly romance assisted therapy, Louie needs to learn that he's been acting like a BAD man, Rourke needs to be convinced to truly live up to the image he's created for himself (probably by appealing to his ego) and Alameda Slim is a definite lesser evil so he needs to just clean up his act a bit.
>>36875393Exactly. What I mean to say is that Atlantis' ultimate fate depends on where along Atlantis' scale of "not bad" to "horrible" the PCs manage to deal with Rourke. If they choose to deal with him first among all the nations of the DVV world, then they might be able to secure a pretty darn bright future for Atlantis. If they wait to handle Rourke until after some of the worse villains are taken care of however, they'll find their Atlantean campaign to be much harder and the future to be much more bleak.
>>36875422Yzma is also more of a cartoonish, comedic kind of evil that her people have learned to live in symbiosis with.
>>36875393Life for the average citizen in the Wild West, Mexico, the Sultanate and Yzma's trubutaries is not that bad, the Mirror Kingdom and the not contested parts of the Diocesis are livable if you don't mind scarification and zealotry and India and the pirate lands are arguably a paradise if you're the right kind of person. I just prefer the idea of Atlantis as a moral grey area instead of "here be the good guys".
>>36875523So do I though.I thought you were arguing then basically being good except that they don't like other band but they're right to because way too many nations are horrible.
I like to think that one of the lessons Mole has personally taught his children is tunnel safety

Digging is akin to swimming, specifically the breast stroke. Scoop in front, scrape to the sides.3. Always break in your clothes before digging use. Worn clothes grip dirt more easily, allowing for faster digging and movement.4. Standard tunnel size is a circle with a diameter of 2 meters. This allows for maximum tunnel integrity without compromising movement speed.5. Pack the tunnel walls as you dig. A loose wall will disturb the dirt.6. Keep a mental map of your tunnels within the area. If your memory is faulty, a normal map will do.7. Space tunnel junctions between 25 to 30 meters apart. Closer junctions risk tunnel structure, further junctions are inconvenient.8. Standard tunnels are off-limits to non-diggers due to risk of disturbing the dirt. If other personnel are required, a tunnel of double size is required (diameter of 4 meters).9. Demolitions should never be used on soil, only deep rock. Doing so would disturb the dirt.10. Clean-up is limited to tools only. Do not disturb the dirt on your person.

The Third Campaign game is starting in ten minutes, and will be over maybe around 6. It's the first one we're doing with a skype OOC, at a different time, with weird schedules, so let's see what happens. Feel free to watch, or just read the transcripts.
Last call for Ponderous and Dread, the session starts in five minutes!
>>36876698probably going to be in the Modern/Future expansion>>36877220although it's set in the past, as it's a TV series, we'll probably include a version of Barbaria in the Modern/Future expansion with most of Disney's other TV shows(Gargoyles, Kim Possible, Jake Long, and Phineas & Ferb alone are going to provide a lot of content for that expansion_
Let's not forget about Audrey's sister, the middleweight boxing champ. With her abilities and connection to the original expedition, she could probably get a high-ranking position in Rourke's military or police somewhere. Bodyguard, even.
I've just realized something about Atlantis. The people there are unhappy, but they think that the current system is the best possible one and there's no point trying to change it. All their problems are either unavoidable or their fault. And besides, there's worse countries out there, so why complain?Atlantis is America.
>>36880905At least until the PCs start making things right abroad and the people start asking why they too can't have elections and freedom of speech and all that.
>>36880943Would it be possible to talk down Rourke from presidency? Retire a hero instead of dying a villain?
>>36880992Ideally, all villains would be given a chance to mend their ways and live in the new world the heroes are making. If they decide they'd rather die, that's their choice.
So if we decided that McLeach is in the setting, doesn't that mean that the Rescue Aid Society is by extension also a real thing? How is that going to work? And Is there a universal animal language trait that players can learn? Are all animals capable of conversing with each other? Are some more feral? Is this due to evil influence? So many questions.
>>36881290Yes animals are a thing, and it's a language to learn, like human or Atlantian.
>>36881290>Are some more feral? Far as I know none are "feral"We should look into this though.
>>36881290the Feral ones are just easily pissed off and/or insanein other news ive realized that Scar winning would still man Zira, Her two children and Kovu would be around, though never been in exile. kovu efectively being his succesor.
>>36881290>>36881433Animal language is an ability players learn through magic moonbeams.
>>36881995god fucking dam it
>>36881290The Rescuers are now nothing but a bunch of old foggies and bullied, as Ratigan has made it a point to break there knees and head, leaving them little more than a socialites club. But Bianca has taken a few remnants of the society and other opponents to Ratigans rule and formed the Rescue and Truth society or R.A.T.S to lead the resistance. But after Orville's tragic death, Bianca has been allowing more and more drastic attacks on Ratigan. Some say that she is slowly becoming as deluded and twisted as Ratigan himself
This stuff about Atlantis declining and Rourke becoming more desperate as the other Kings are toppled needs to be added to the wiki and documents. It's amazing.

>>36882203Agreed, perfect to spur players into having a reason to fight him as well.
>>36882838More Atlantis stuff if you're doing setting pics. Love it, as always. Keep it up, drawfag!
>>36882838Atlantis as ruled by Rourke
>>36883521And a good moral, too - don't leave problems until they actually become serious. The Atlanteans could have overthrown Roarke earlier but once he felt threatened be heeded to be stopped by heroes. A stitch in time saves nine.
>>36884169I think we said that the general feel of the Imperial Atlantean Republic was that it had a feel similar to Bioshock's Columbia. So there's probably a lot of flags and drapery with Atlantean symbols and blue/gold/white color scheme.Kida's probably be treated as a saint figure, so there's going to be propaganda posters of her 'guiding' her people to stand against the hordes of the Sea Witch. Anti-Mermaid propaganda. Propaganda showing the good Atlantean 'helping' the others of the world. And lots of pictures of Rourke looking presidential and heroic. Although I see it in more of a style that mimic North Korean propaganda, with him standing proud over his legion of soldiers.
>>36884945It's also a good way to try and ensure that the PCs look to not just topple the Kings, but replace them with something better. The Atlanteans are the easy solution. Topple the king, and let the 'good' Atlanteans in and let them run the place. The heroes pat themselves on the back and move on to the next one. Then they turn around and see that, thanks to them, the Atlanteans now control most of the world and they're not so nice anymore. I'm seeing things like 'indenture' programs, and 'temporary relocations,' and internment camps. Also, it's now nearly impossible to stop them. They're the easy answer, and the people playing the long game.
>>36885618I do like that idea.Makes him a more uncomfortable to support leaving him still an "okay ruler" (for now).
>>36885709>'indenture' programs, and 'temporary relocations,'isn't their culture basically ancient Egypt? As in, they would just conquer and enslave?>>36884945speaking of Stitch, I know modern is a ways away, but what are we gonna do with him? He is technically a "villain" right out of the gate.

>>36886542personally I think Hawaii is one of those areas like Maldonia and Corona, where Good is still on top, albeit surrounded by danger, so I'd set it sometime after Leroy & Stitch(the finale movie) so Hawaii is one of the safest places in the world due to not only having 626 incredibly powerful alien creatures roaming it, but also having one of the most brilliant minds in the universe living there as well(Jumba is probably one of the only beings in the setting who could actually comprehend Atlantean technology, although he'd probably also realize that it's almost too dangerous to be worth messing with, and that's saying something when it comes to Jumba), so reaching Hawaii and getting help there is probably a valid campaign goal>>36887525so Ratigan is able to breach the 4th Wall to mess with the Orchestra then?
>>36882838Been loving everything you've been doing here Drawfriend. Please keep up the good work!>>36882203, >>36883521, >>36884945, >>36885618, >>36885709I like the idea of including a "sliding scale of awfulness" for Atlantis because it allows for players and DMs to regulate what type of game they want to play in the DVV world at large. If the group wants a game that's a bit lighter and sweeter overall, it makes sense for Rourke and Atlantis get taken care of early in the campaign while they can be most easily turned into allies and while they still hold onto the hopeful and optimistic feelings of an Atlantean renaissance period. By securing Rourke's support or replacing him entirely at the beginning, Atlantis becomes a major force of good in the world and the "alignment" of the whole campaign shifts upward toward "Noble Neutral."If the group wants a darker and more bitter campaign overall, they can allow the homeland issues in Atlantis to go unresolved while they tackle other problems around the world, allowing Rourke's rule over the island nation and its people to grow more tyrannical and unhinged, sapping some of Atlantis' strength as an eventual ally or removing the possibility completely, and shifting the setting's "alignment" down to an inkier shade of "Noble Dark."

>>36894071>>36893552>>36893513Are we talking about a regular sort of monkey wrench, or something more along these lines?
>>36894159That's a hard question. She could either have one giant wrench, and go for a more cartoony sort of armament, or could have a lightning gun and a more reasonable wrench.
>>36894159>>36894412I like the idea of ceramic and crystal Atlantian tech combined with the wood stock and lines of a WWI rifle. Gonna use that later maybe. And unless the anon playing her says otherwise, I'm assuming Hannah channels Rapunzel and just whacks things with her lute.
>>36894524Yeah, pretty much. It's more Disney that way. I love this, but I think her birthmark needs to be a little more pronounced. To me it looks like Hannah just looks like she has a slight change of lighting on her face.

He may take an action every turn to perform his Dance, which comprise of two rolls, either a Music-Charm roll or an Insight-Sensibility roll to keep in tune with the rhythm, and either an Acrobatics-Agility roll or an Athletics-Robustness roll to bust out sick moves (though for the fool that he is, Louie is wise enough to stick with his better rolls). Anyone not curently dancing must make an Endure-Sensibility check against Louie's Rhythm roll (Tin Ears automatically pass this check). Those who pass must resist it again every other round, those who fail must join Louie in his Dance.Dance of the Red Flower: Anyone caught up in Louie's Dance must use all their actions (except for those who start or are currently using music, they are allowed to set aside action for that) to perform Dance rolls, same as those that he does (though they can choose which skills and attributes to use). Dance-based attacks and defenses can only be used against each other, and a character may not be targeted by dance-based attacks if they have no dance-based defences. Each of Louie's dance-based defenses maybe used three times instead of once like all other characters, but he takes an extra strike from all successful dance-based attacks. Here's what I have for the DTP Reference Compilation so far. I wish I could find more pictures for some of them, especially Jeremiah and Antrodemus, and more to say about them, but from what I've seen and read what I do have is pretty accurate. >>36896469Your timing is perfect, I was just about to ask what the hell was "Dino Kissinger" all about.I love how each world is represented by a hero in some way.
>>36897216If I recall correctly, "Dino Kissinger" was the original concept which was then elaborated into the fully-fleshed character of Antrodemus.I definitely think that each of the DTP heroes representing one of the different Lands of the DVV world is part of their appeal and part of why they work so well together as a team both in-character and in art. Each one is distinct and each one brings something different to the group. As always, really, really liking the art. This group shot is going to be amazing.

>>36888192According to the King/Land/Rule page on the wiki, Corona is part of the Mirror Kingdom and the Coronan Horse is part of its guard. Should I change that?
>>36900807I now. It looks like we're all a bit busy tonight. I have to step out, but once I get back I should probably archive this thread unless someone else wants to.
>>36893694would explain how he's able to maintain control of his Empire, he has a decently large stick to wave in front of the Powers That Be in Europe to allow him to continue his criminal activities(although once we get to the non-Disney expansion there'll be at least one other villain who can communicate with Churny Boggle, and that'd be Rasputin)
>>36901057I'd say Corona is a vassal of the Mirror Kingdom, BUT it's a favored vassal because it provides wonderful horses so it's not so shitty.
>>36901483Also, in the forests of Corona there is rumored to be a devilishly handsome man whom the Mirror Guard hunts for, though he always escapes, whether by his own nimbleness, charm and wits, by his trusty steed or by the dozens of brutish barbarians that seem to follow him. They all search for a sweet fair princess of golden and impossibly long hair.

>>36901057>>36901483>>36901896personally I assume that while Corona is technically a vassal of the Mirror Kingdom, it's a relationship that exists mostly on paper(indeed this would apply to most vassals of Grimhilde), where outside of the occasional sending of tribute, and once in a blue moon hosting a delegate of Grimhilde's there isn't really much binding them together(so much like it's Queen, the Mirror Kingdoms vassals have a shallow superficial relationship with it)also that pic could easily be renamed to "Average Level 1 D&D Party">>36901988yeah these threads are great for that

>>36902471>>36902188Though seriously, if Grimhilde holds only superficial relationships with all her vassals, then the quality of life is going to be all over the place in her realms, and there might be ways of telling which of the fiefdoms are going to be shit before you get shat on. what would be things you could hear about a fiefdom that would tell how pleasant it is? >>36907210You flatter me! I do this for fun. I'm glad you guys enjoy.I had 15 mins before sleep, so here's one more to get the concept across. Tentacles of the Nautilus form the handlebars and footrests. Atlantis stonetech has a special charm to it I find.
>>36908289It's a cool design because Nautilus and squids actually do propel themselves "backwards" like that.
>>36906861"You bought a Coronan Horse?""Well, you said that you were tired of walking, and Mary said that she'd kill you if you touched her...whatever-it-is-in-Atlantean again.""You DO know why Corona is covered with lanterns, right?""Because they're trying to lead the lost souls of their loved ones back home?""Because no one trusts them in the dark! We've got large rewards on our heads, and YOU are putting our faith in a Coronan Horse.""You're afraid the horse is going to betray us to the Kings?""No, I'm afraid the horse is going to slit our necks in the middle of the night and sell our heads to the kings!" Hannah turned to the horse. "For the record, there's only a bounty for Sir Knight's head, they want me alive.""It's the horse, or walk. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go talk to Lazarus and Jeremiah about getting us into Agrabah."The musician looked at the horse for a long while. "You play cards?"The horse nodded."You cheat?"The horse shook his head."You're going to have to work on that tell, with your tail, fibber."The horse made a huffing noise. Hannah shrugged. "Just an observation, it'll be nice to have a sporting chance against Jeremiah, anyway. So...what's your name?"The horse looked down at the ground."Never gave you one?"Horse shook his head."So...why'd they sell you. Thought your breed were race-horses. You throw a match?"The horse looked up back at Hannah's eyes and let out a proud huff."Ohhhh, you DIDN'T throw a match. You really ARE bad at fibbing...Fibber." She grins. "And they thought they'd get more money from Sir Knight than they would from a couple of pots of glue, huh?"The horse slowly nodded. Hannah patted the horse's nose. "Come on, Fibber. Let's play some cards and see if we can force Mary and Sir Knight to be naked at the same time together."Fibber let out a whinny of approval as he followed.
>>36912085May I put this in the DTP bonus stories?
nyoo thread, anyone?
>>36912085I enjoy this fluff greatly. I really like how all the DTP characters round up to various archetypes too, makes them perfect to use as sample characters that are actually interesting. We even have cool drawings for each of them and soon a swageriffic title cover. Considering that we're like four kings from a beta PDF, I really like how its shaping up. The way we've got all the DTP characters set up now really provides a very solid base for how DVV adventuring parties should work.
>>36912240Kind of like the D&D sample adventure things they had in the core, but with characters that have actual aspects and uniqueness behind them instead of 'tank'. 'rogue'. 'cleric.'? I like that, should highlight the emphasis Disney places on more unique characters. We'd need someone to come up with a D&Dlike 'sample adventute' thing, if I remember right they mentioned both characters and how the players controlling them acted for a short snippet of a game. Having something like that could be useful.
>>36912174By all means.Thought I should go back and re-stat Hannah for her Zero/On-A-Roll/Hero stats. She hasn't been refigured since the first playtest.
>>36912085you know I just realized this almost certainly means Altivo has some Coronan in his heritage considering his higher than normal intelligence for a horsealso we need a new thread soon
>>36912311Oh, that's a good plan. All the DTP character creators should re-stat for all three levels (assuming 50/100 levels) for usage as sample characters.

Okay, this burned in my brain and wouldn't go away until I wrote it.You can consider it a possible epilogue for the 'Classic' DTP, or part of one at least. It's also an introduction to the Modern DVV setting and two possible members of the Modern DTP.http://pastebin.com/DbtTgskEI don't consider this to be Canon Fluff. It's just something I wrote for fun.

who's working on the new thread?
I've realized something - Disney is like Evan Dahm's Overside (Rice Boy, Order of Tales, Vattu) setting. God (Walt) didn't directly create the world, but created its foundation and nine Giants (i.e. Nine Old Men) to actually form the world. If this gets used by us or GMs, there's also the issue of Thalia's Heir's great-grandfather Wilfred E. Jackson, a potential 'secret' Tenth Old Man, although I'm sure there's other extra Old Men out there.
>>36913561I'll start on a new thread now.
