Welcome to the XXXVI installment of "Disney Villains Victorious."Disney Villains Victorious is a new /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole. It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog. It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+Victorioushttp://1d4chan.org/wiki/Disney_Villains_Victorious
>>36294244 This is a fantastic goddamn idea, and I recommend everyone look at it.We said we'd restrict the +bonus to 3 and under at character creation, though.
Items! Glorious items, it was what we were discussing. That image in the OP made me remember Facilier's sweet mask that he materialized in that song.Would Masks give +1 to deceit or persuasion depending on the design?
>>36295013His mask is enchanted, though. Why would a mask make you more persuasive?

I'd love to hop in the playtest as long as it doesn't disrupt anything. Is that a possibility? Character is a monkey Charming Guy that was already submitted to the forum.
>>36295034Deceit, I could see. Hides facial twitches that give away your lies.
>>36295064We're... kind of nearing the end of the line.
>>36295034Is it? To me it kinda sounded like he materialized it to put on a scarier show. Because, y'know, musical number. And a mask with the right design could be awe-inspiring, or just make people less nervos. I know that sounds a little counter intuitive, but a guy with a good expression and voice control, with an innocent-looking mask could probably pass as a trustworthy guy. Also, remember: Mirror Kingdom. Most characters coming from there would come with facial scars, and so far they've given penalties to Persuasion. Maybe masks would be a way to mitigate that bonus, at the cost of taking up an item slot?
>>36294966>these last umpteenth threads dissolve into bickering children whinging about>all according to the keikaku magic>keikaku magic means plan magic
Any idea when the next one is?
I said I wasn't getting a name 20+ threads ago, but fuck it. I've made enough of an impact. What I've done:>Initially brought up Pirate Lord Hook>Fluff and songs here and there>Japan Fluff doc>Character Creation doc>Asked what if we split up physical and social Strikes and I'm really fucking sorry>Brought us back on track with Item creation and two traits
>>36295079I could see a mask giving +1 deciet. Persuasion makes no sense, though.>>36295092Mitigating the penalties from being hideous could work, though. Negates the -4 from Scarring but gives a -1 to persuasion due to man in a mask being kind of untrustworthy?
>>36294778Good traits, I'll 'bin these when we update the traits pastebin. Remember: +2 for Diamond In The Rough, and requires at least a +1 item for Not The Face!
>>36295013More like intimidation...
>>36295117You're really only supposed to namefag for the point of easy navigation of your work, mate. Nob, Knightfag, Dread and Sverd are the only namefags with a valid reason for their namefaggotry, because they have continous and ongoing work that's easier to figure out with names.
>>36295127So basically, a +3 to persuasion? What if...>White Mask: Takes away half the penalty a character might have if hideous or facialy scarredI don't know about you guys, but I would have a lot of fun making different masks with different bonuses and effects. For some reason, that strikes me as amazingly fun. That sounds more like a GM fiat thing though. If you guys are up for throwing up some fun mask ideas I'd appreciate it, but it's clearly not the essential
>>36295201I'm sure as hell not going to stop you from adding more things to the game. Go ahead, worst that can happen is we'll find some of it unbalanced or nonsensical and take a few out or rebalance them.
>>36295199Then I guess he needs to step up his game and start producing stuff to live up to it. He's put in a contract with the Friends, now...
>>36295201Many cultures have shamans and magicmen don masks to aid their magic powers.....a mask with a bonus to certain Occult applications?
>>36295201>>36295237>Demonic Mask: -4 to Persuasion, +3 to Intimidate.>Totem Mask: +2 to Occult is trying to contact spirits. -3 for Persuasion>Regal Half-mask (Covers only your eyes and upper face): +2 Persuasion against nobility. For that one I was thinking about things like those masked balls and stuff. Doesn't make much sense, but eh.>Beast Mask: -5 to Persuasion against non-beast characters. +5 to persuasion against beasts
>>36295288All of those are gr8 except for the Regal half-mask, which doesn't really make much sense. You'd just look like a tool. Still, it's DISNEY, so it could work.Requesting song topics to stop me from writing another song about Sverd.I know there's probably a thousand unfuffilled requests but I need a constant reminder of what people want songs about because I am forgetful.
>>36295288Drop the bonus and penalty on the Beast Mask to 3, and it should work. Try to avoid huge bonuses unless it's a plot item or literally magical, which is rare and hard to come by.
>Trial and Error: You receive a mild bonus (+3/4?) to any skill test you've significantly failed this session.>>36295201>We Wear the Mask!: When your face is covered, you can be anybody. As long as you wear a mask, you can apply a +1 bonus that stacks on top of whatever bonus that mask gives normally.>>36295222Cue "The Shadow Man went down to Georgia."
>>36295334You must take Judas Priest's "A Touch of Evil' and rewrite it so that it's about Sverd and Elsa's wonderful and terrible bedroom adventures..
>>36295402Oh come on, that doesn't even fit with either of their characters.
>>36295435'A Touch of Frost' or some shit like that. And no, we'll never let you live this down.
>>36295365Fair enough. New ones incoming!>Thief mouthpiece (Think that whole "tissue over mouth" thing from the arabic places):-3 to all Social Rolls against merchants. +3 to Intimidate against merchants. (Possibly also a diplomacy bonus against other thieves)>Blank Mask: +2 against Insight. with the right level of Craft, can be transformed into any other mask.>Innocent Mask: +2 for deceit if the target is not hostile.
>>36295459>Blank Mask>No One was, in fact, just bullshitting everyone with a really good mask and god-tier drawing skil
>>36295452That could mildly fit with their characters if we go under the assumption that Elsa instantly stops being elegant and regal when alone and that Sverd turns into a whimpering pile of shit during the same time. I'm still not going to write it, though.>>36295459What does an 'innocent mask' look like?
>>36295452What, the TV show?
>>36295508Write about characters going over a training regimen A-la "Make A Man out Of You">>36295508Smile!A non-creepy smile.Probably drawn godly to be the best and most sincere smile ever put into anything
I took a quick look at the rules for Beast characters, and I have a suggestion.Trait:Beast of Burden: +1 to Robustness, and +2 to Robustness for the purposes of carrying loads.
>>36295508I think your interpretation of the song is quite different from mine then, where the touch of evil is merely dominant and kinky.>>36295523There was a show by that name?
>>36295556I believe we already have two reenditions of "I'll make a man out of you", neither written by me, and I've written two separate songs about training or inspiring an army. Also two OTHER songs about the PC's army rousing themselves at a final showdown kinda thing.
Now that the dust has settled, we can all agree that magic doesn't exist and that all supernatural occurrences are just lost Atlantean technology.
>>36295584And I quote."I'm so afraidBut I still feed the flameIn the nightCome to meYou know I want your Touch of EvilIn the nightPlease set me freeI can't resist a Touch of EvilAroused with desireYou put me in a tranceA vision of fireI never had a chance"
>>36295201I like it. Ideas incoming:Surgical Mask: +3 to Science rolls for the purposes of healing physical StrikesBandanna Mask: +3 Stealth in the Wild WestLifelike Mask: Requires a high Craft skill (rolled with Agility) and expensive materials to make, but lets you look like anyone you've had the chance to study. Works for one person, can only be worn by one person (has to be molded to an individual face)Captain's Hat: +3 to Intimidate non-captain pirates, but Captains will see you as a rival and the EITC will kill you on sightAdmiral's Hat: +3 to Bluff non-captain members of the EITC, but Captains and above will call your bluff and have everyone attack you and all pirates will kill you on sight
>>36295615Yeah, that just sounds dominant and kinky to me. What's it sound like to you? Also, 'a dark angel of sin' is pretty much the best thing a lover can call you, is it not?
>>36295567Would be good for a Horse, which is good because we're missing a trait for one. Thanks, anon.
>>36295602gr8 b8 m8 i r8 8/8I may just have to write the beginning, at least, to the Elsverd fic just so nobody fucks it up too badly
>>36295634>>36295459>>36295288>All these headgearsWe Ragnarok Online now
>>36295708We're getting TF2 up in this
>>36295651Literally every line is groveling to the un-named touch of evil or talking about how horny the singer is.I honestly can't think of something Sverd is less likely to do.Except maybe be an asshole to somebody on purpose. Dark Angel of Sin is also probably a horrible insult to Sverd.
>>36295708>ragnarok online>not team hat simulator 2
>>36295724Don't worry, I have plans. How does obedience to the Queen he is sworn to sound?
>>36295651Just because Sverd is a sub doesn't mean he turns into a begging slut when in the bedroom
>>36295724Perhaps, but I'd personally LOVE to be called a dark angel of sin.
>>36295750I refuse to endorse shipping or smut of any kind, especially of my own characters, but if you had to make some that'd be the most logical way to go about it.
>>36295782Excellent. Enjoy the reindeer dick.
>>36295816That's going too far.
>>36295816And so every eye in the thread fell onto the anon who threatened to rape Sverd with reindeer

>>36296026.......who is the true King of the Hunters? The Man?
>>36296046It'd be The Man. If it was Muntz that'd be one goddamn easy goal.
>>36296026I'm thinking of him becoming a Hero when the party overthrows an evil king and the new good King pats him on the head.>"Good boy, Floofy."
>>36296072He'd be a Hero when he proved himself as a superior hunting dog. Hero goals are there to give your final direction as a PC. I hope your second one is a little more long-lasting
Did we ever decide that players had to Tier Up at once? I thought that was a good idea.
>>36296101Yeah, pretty much everyone agreed with it. Really helps out party cohesion.
>>36296101Yes we did.
>>36296101>>36296118>>36296145Does that mean that everyone only tiers up once every goal is fulfilled, or does every goal have to be fullfilled at the same time?Thse later could be problematic
>>36296174>every goal being fulfilled at the same timeYes, we decided that people should have to take down multiple different Kings halfway across the globe at the EXACT SAME INSTANT or else they could never tier up.It's when every goal is fulfilled.
>>36296174Your group tiers up when everyone's completed their Zero goal to On-a-roll, and when everyone's completed their On-a-roll goal they tier to Hero.
>>36296196>Not wanting to have glorious "THE WORLD IS FREED" moment broadcasted all over Atlantis as the true proof you're a heroSenpai pls
>>36296174>>36296196>>36296215Of course, if everyone got together to write their goals be achieved at about the same time without compromising the characters, well, that'll work out just splendidly for everyone.
>>36295994>verminSurely you mean "rodent". Some of us are civilized, you know.
>>36296268Here is a selection of on-a-roll goals from our first playtest.>Stop the White Men from fighting each other.>Restore the Kingdom of Arendelle.>Defeat a magical creature to stop it from terrorizing the countryside.>Put a stop to the Shadow land incursions on Virginia and the Wild West>Free the other children of Zwietracht Academy. How in the hell would someone accomplish these all at the same time?
>>36296310You accomplish them one after another, and when the last is done you tier up.
>>36296357Well, yeah, I know. I'm saying theoretically.
>>36296098Zero: Find your Owner.On-a-Roll: Earn the title of 'Good Boy' from a King.Hero: Prove yourself as the superior hunting dog. Also, changing origin to EGHC.>>36296308Rats and mice.Or should I say, RATs and 'mice'?
FIRST OFFICIAL 40 OF THE GAMEWOO WOO
Sverd nervously approached the gates to the throne room. This was his moment. He could restore peace to the land. He had trained for months, and prepared the perfect thing to say to his Queen. Elsa had been... broken ever since the death of Anna at the beginning of the Great Frost. As he reached for the doors, Sverd felt something deep inside him, something that he barely ever permitted himself to feel: pride. He was going to be the restorer of Arrendelle and bring honor to his clan once more. He flung open the doors, prepared to see a tattered ruin of ice and snow. Instead, he was met with a beautiful throne room, with small snowmen flitting about, polishing silver and cleaning the furniture. Also, it was warm. Surprisingly so. He found the source of the heat, four large fireplaces, all lit, and though it strange. By all accounts, Elsa was unaffected by the cold. He looked around and found her, wearing a beautiful purple dress, off in a side room, talking to an ice sculpture of the legendary Princess Anna sitting on a snow pedestal.“Visitors coming, visitors coming,” she muttered to her icy sister. “Now I be alone. I get lonely now. But I’m not really alone. I have you. You’re just… quiet, that’s all. And cold. But I’m cold too. We’re all cold here. The last time I had someone warm to talk to was back before…” She faltered, a shadow passing over her face. “Before the way things are now. There were a few, though, but not anymore. Now they’re cold too. They thought I was being bad, but I was just being me. Being me is hard. It’s lonely. But I still have you! I’ll always have you, even if you are quiet now. I tried to make you loud again, but it was wrong. I made another girl who just wants to be you. She’s cold also. But now we have a visitor! He will be nice, and noble, and pure, and won’t think I’m mean at all! It will be great! We’ll have so much fun!” Elsa turned around, seeing the armor-clad knight. “There he is!”
>>36296438no smut there btw, just character work
>>36296455It was my concept of what a broken Elsa would be like. Tell me what you think. I liked the idea of her talking to Elsa's original frozen body
>>36296438>Now I be alone. I get lonely now.I don't think she's quite crazy enough to be talking like a caveman.
>>36296523Shit, missed that. Thanks. I had to edit it to make it under 2000 characters, so I think that's when that happened
>>36296438How did this ship become the hallmark fluff of the game?
>40 Drive roll to pilot train
>>36296559>>36296523It's supposed to be "Now I won't have to be alone."
>>36296567It might be partially my fault for writing 3000+ words of songs about Sverd and a couple love songs.
Sverd, can you help me with something? What would you say to Elsa to try to restore her sanity after losing Anna?
>>36296438>Sven, pure and innocent as he was, had this nagging thought in the back of his head: it must've been ages since Elsa had a man's company. Didn't......didn't need men around to....to fulfill some sort of need? She'd be so desperate for him to.....for him to......>Sven gulped. Well, she was his queen. Whatever she asked of him, he would oblige with a charming manner and a smile on his face.Captcha: cold ccessCl
>>36296649Ah, shit, that should be>Didn't......didn't women need men around to....
>>36296630Sverd would sing a song, probably. Then give a honest speech from the bottom of his heart about how Elsa has been hurt and he understands and yadda yadda good inside. It'd probably be pretty long, but I think you get the general idea.
>>36296567>>36296625Also doesn't help that people joked about it so much that it expanded into how many threads now?maybe they should slow/tone it down
Transcript for the third playtest: http://pastebin.com/sWj8Y87vsome notes: we need to divide up exactly what the difference is between Athletics and Acrobatics. We need to decide if Legerdemain and Mechanics can both be used to pick locks. We need to decide how throwing explosives works. That's about it. Pretty entertaining session, though. Not sure when the next one will be -- probably Saturday, but no guarantees.
>>36296673Could you... could you write the song? I couldn't do it justiceI love that this started out as joke smut, and now I want to write a legitimate story about Sverd restoring Elsa's sanity.
>>36296704Tip for Small/Tiny characters-- Scurrying up someone's pant legs as a distraction or attack is a perfectly valid move.old bean
Also, when will the next playtest be?
>>36296713I already have m8Song archive is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oQniqbLaTCF7V19fnXP0_zUW7GFr3ESziGM6U5mEcC0/edit?pli=1"The next Ten Minutes" is set up for this, and "I still believe" could work as well. I haven't written a song about the actual speech because I think that's something that would be better put out in, y'know, a speech.
>>36296704Oh, yeah, you never specified rewards, man. Or is that resolved next game?
>>36296730never mind, missed the announcement
>>36296704Athletics - Burst down a door, push your way through a crowd, win a foot race, throw a javelin, win an arm wrestling competition, etc.Acrobatics - Chase someone across rooftops, balance at the edge of a cliff, dance, weave your way through a crowd, dodge an axe above your head, pole vault, etc.
>>36296798they aren't really continuous since this is random scenario playtesting, but here;Everyone gets ~$2000 in atlantean money (so 1920 dollars). Bart gets 6 Lessons, Vergil gets 4, Jermiah gets 6, Raymond gets 6, Anitelu gets 5. 3 for escaping 3 dangerous situations, any others for completing your Ideals.
For next playtest, we should make sure to test character development, as that is an area that we haven't really tested at all. Also, let's try to make more novel items that do more than boost a stat.
>>36296900That kind of requires multiple connected sessions, which means I need more than two days so that I can plan a campaign and finals are coming up so that could be a bit difficult. We'll see.
A shame these tests always happen during the afternoon. Between evening classes and 2nd shift work, I'm SOL on the playing front.
>>36294966New to the threads. Are we using Fantasia? Does Satan rule all, having crushed those annoying bells? Have animated brooms overrun absolutely everything? Who got the grapes?
>>36296977Well, what time would be good for you then? >>36296995The only thing we're using from Fantasia is Chernobog, I think. But yes, he's puppeteering the whole world to be an existence of constant torment to amuse him, allowing heroes to rise and inspire then be crushed by the cruel world.
>>36297024Late night, like around this time onward.>>36296995Yeah, Churn-o-whirl screwed up everything, he is the game's ultimate BBEG.
Was Narnia ruled as part of the setting? I think I'd like playing a gryphon hero.
>>36297024>>36297039>ChernobogHe has a name. Huh. Good to see him in the top spot. It suits him.
>>36297088You could always just be a Yzmic chimera. Both Horses and Birds are statted.
>>36297121Gryphons are lions and eagles. Horses are not involved
>>36297121Would be lion + bird , but good point.
>>36297138Sorry, I forgot.Lions are also statted too, so nwarries m8Captcha: massive ehensas
>>36296995Toccata and Fugue in D Minor: No story. The Nutcracker Suite: No story, but stuff like it might happen in the Fey lands or in the Aurora's territory. The Sorcerer's Apprentice: Mickey might be dead, Yen Sid has stuck around but he's lost a lot of his power. The Rite of Spring: The dinosaurs stuck around. They've got their own island now, even!Pastoral Symphony: Doesn't really have a villain besides Zeus being a jerk. Hercules might have overwritten it.Dance of the Hours: It's just a musical performance. There might be a traveling music troupe of hippos, elephants, ostriches, and crocodiles, though.A Night on Bald Mountain/Ave Maria: Should be pretty obvious.
I'd like to remind everyone that I have once again tricked a group of playtesters into spending three hours beating up a wizard and his minions. >>36297121I should probably actually put up the rules for Chimeras, shouldn't I?
>>36297196But at the same time, you're also demonstrating legit ways to incorporate magic in the setting. You win some you lose some.
Sverd, would you mind if I wrote a couple songs for Sverd? I'm thinking of converting a couple songs from Next To Normal, because they just fit the story of Elsa talking to frozen Anna so well.
>>36297221All songs are good songs.
>>36297196Yes please. Need to get gryphony. And by that I mean dodging all the hunters.
>>36296567Plane Crazy, could you please read the transcript and write about one or more of the following?>Disney Team Prime sailing the high seas aboard The Ahohako with Captain Anitelu Ahomana, Pirate-Prince of Polynesia and his first mate Brawlin' Bart.>Captain Anitelu's continued wooing of the fair Avis, regaling her with tales of his homeland ("No, I was only the prince of the very small island of Manahuto. That's all Polynesia is, a group of very small islands, all too small to be shown on a map of the world, and all very far apart.") and his piratical exploits and lifestyle ("Contrary to popular belief, the Pirate Code isn't actually a collection of rules or laws.....they're just guidelines, to tell you the truth.").>Captain Anitelu and Bart steal an Atlantean submarine.
>>36297196If you could please post those rules. I might try and spend tomorrow creating some example characters and reworking some of our old examples that have been outpaced by the ne crunch. It might be nice to have a small stable of premades to offer as examples to be dropped in, ready made.
>>36297258Hmm... I'll take a look.
>>36296567Maybe because it's one of the most DISNEY AS FUCK pieces of fluff we have.Think about it:>Honestly good, handsome knight meets damsel in distress>consoles and inspires her as she moves back into an elegant, graceful queen>eventually understands that he needs her much more than she needs him>go on to save the worldThere's so many elements of DISNEY in that.
>>36296704Session highlights:>Street rat turning a pistol in a hand grenade, disarming bombs like a pro and making a perfect roll to drive the train>Talking Guinea Pig doing all the occult legwork, disarming bombs, picking lockpicks and scurryig up a bad guy's pants to bite him in the nuts>Cowboy shooting bad guys, talking down bad guys and fighting on top of a running train like a real cowboy>Polynesian pirate captain taking down a man with a strongbox, bagging himself a waifu and pumping the BBEG full of holes>Angry drunk pirate throwing people around like ragdolls, tanking like a boss and going WWE SMACKDOWN on the bad guys
>>36297217You mean like the magic incorporated into every piece of Disney media with a very few exceptions?
>>36297342And then we've turned it into ice-whip femdom. God damn it.Anyway, chimera rules! >>36297269>>36297248http://pastebin.com/B8SkUwWB
>>36297389I never really saw it as whips and shit, just Elsa making parts of her body really frosty to Sven's shock and her amusement. Maybe some ice-bondage. But that's it.
>>36297389Hm. Should probably add that you share the locomotive method of both your base animal and your altering animal.
>>36297371>Talking Guinea Pig doing all the occult legwork, disarming bombs, picking lockpicks and scurryig up a bad guy's pants to bite him in the nutsSo there you go. Noncombat characters can be useful. Just don't skimp on Agility if your Robustness is low.
>>36297415Hey, if you guys want to compromise setting integrity to be spiteful, who am I to stop you? Hell, I'm not even a namefag in this circlejerk.
>>36297445>first post of the last thread>REMINDER THAT SVERD COURTING ELSA AND THEM MAKING LOVING CONSENSUAL VANILLA SEX TO LOSE BOTH THEIR VIRGINITIESAND THEN THE SECOND TIME IS WHEN THE PADDLES AND ICE RESTRAINTS GET BROKEN OUT IS CANON
>>36297467Wizard go now.
>>36297467>this is what wizards sound like
>heads into thread>sees Elsa/OC shipping>pages and pages of it>with comparatively little fluff or crunch discussion>just Elsa/OC shipping>leaves

>>36297389Can the size shift be optional?
What if we took the Genie race power (manipulate 1kg of matter) and made it into a Will powered magic wand? It would be nowhere near a starting character, and would probably need Occult to use properly.Other conditions can be time limits (until midnight) or limits on types of mater (no lead into gold). Also, I'm not a wizard. Fuck wizards.
>>36297583Sounds fair. What kind of occult check/rank would you need for it?

Once the weekend arrives I will hopefully contribute a good amount of fluff to these threads. I've burnt myself out a bit in the past couple days, and I know that several of our more polished writers are also incommunicado for a while, which has lead to a slight drop in fluff production.
I suggest that we add modifiers to people's defenses. For instance, a strong huntsman might be hard to intimidate because they wield so much power and have so much bravado, but easier to persuade, because they are dumb>>36297445I was thinking more some light bondage, just being very dominant, maybe some spanking
>>36297618Please, let's just let the frozenshipping die. It's getting a bit weird.

How are other tech gaps addressed besides Atlantis vs Everyone Else? Do the European kingdoms import rifles for their military? Does Agrabah have a secret television network to watch all of Genie's favourite pop culture from America? Do pirates have ironclads? Also what's up with the way Japan is split up.
>>36297952A unified rumor mill would be pretty spiffy.

European kingdoms are almost universally ruled by magicians who don't want rifles in the hands of their populace, and Atlantis has a tight grip on tech production as it stands. Pirates don't have ironclads, but only because their ships FLY.
>>36297966Guys with less technology typically have more magic. The Horned King keeps Prydain a place that's backwards even by European standards, but he is a noteworthy sorcerer and possesses vast legions of the undying Cauldronborn.

>>36302476>>36302462>Implying Frollo is a good ChristianHe would see a bit of magic and go straight to witch burning. Also, Rasputin was a shitty monk and would definitely not be the kind of person Frollo would consort with
These threads have been somewhat exhausting to keep up with, but it's most definitely been worth it.
>>36302493>Frollo hates magic with a passionNob's identity is finally revealed.
>>36302575Frollo also hates anything fae, inhuman or even vaguely unusual. Clarisse the Beast would be hunted down by his Inquisitors if they knew she existed.

Items should be split into three categories:Zero items are common and provide small bonuses. Perfect starting gear.On-a-Roll items are rarer and possibly magical in nature. Powerful, but they often have drawbacks and conditions to them.Hero items are one of a kind. Thier value is immense. Like Excalibur or the Lamp.
>>36302915Is there the possibility of family heirlooms included amongst a starting character's gear? Like an On-A-Roll item passed down through the character's family or perhaps stolen or "acquired" in some other way? I fully agree with your item system, I'm just curious.
>>36302928That would be up to the DM (Disney Master) to decide.Personally, I would say either>No, or>That and nothing else.
>>36302975That's definitely fair. I remember that there had been some talk several threads ago about giving items "prices" based on the bonuses they give, with the price equal to the bonus. I'm not sure if this is still the case, but if it is, I think that would make the idea of a character having an heirloom item of some kind more possible, as the "price" of the heirloom would mean that the rest of their equipment would have to provide lesser bonuses to compensate.
>>36302997For example, a new character is allowed to start with six points' worth of gear. They could either have three two-point items, or a four-point item and two one-point items, spread between armor, weaponry and accessories.
So what is locked in and what is still up in the air?
>>36298295Do you use the lessons up? I mean, can people get 2 traits OR an attribute or 2 traits AND an attribute with 4 lessons

>>36303045I suppose they are like spendable points, yes.
>>36303045Yes, you can spend Lessons how you want.
>>36301866You're the best, Plane Crazy.
>>36303010>>36302997What are we going to do about items like horses and boats that provide benefits that are not in the form of pluses to skills? Stick with our convention that if the GM doesn't raise an eyebrow at it, you're in the clear?
>>36303767I'm not really sure. I don't perfectly recall the conversation. Maybe modes of transportation like horses, boats, Atlantean Autos and the like are best left to the DM's discretion.Maybe something like each character is allowed one mount and each party is allowed one vehicle?
>>36303767Well, horses and boats are not the same kind of mechanically game changing equipment that swords and armors are: the GM should just let the players have the necessary means of transport.
>>36302061>>36302301>>36302286Wasting a cent to post at work and tell you that it will be done.FINALLY SOME SONGS TO WORK ON
>>36303901>>36303902>Maybe something like each character is allowed one mount and each party is allowed one vehicle? An elephant could carry the entire party and a motorcycle could only carry one or two people. For insurance against rules lawyers, better we say that each character can only have one form of personal transportation and each party may only have only form of transportation that can carry all of them and possibly more. Also, thought I just had: what do we do if a player wants to be an animated object? Like, anything between a teacup and a fullblown ship?
>>36302590They do, as far as I know.
Did we record the rules for Chimerae? I need them for science. Science and playtesting. Also, anybody near GMT willing to run a game this weekend? We britfags want to play as well, and we can't go at night, we're too busy manning the fort against paranoid fuckers who think every new person is a wizard.>>36304045Come on, I think we should have SOME limits on races. Like, I know pretty much everything can fit into a Disney movie or a fairy tale setting, but RPGs aren't movies or books. Lord of the Rings would be a terrible campaign.
>>36304045That's a really good question. I could see enchanted objects as characters, but they would have to be limited in their enchantment and their size, perhaps. They would also have a slew of disadvantages as well, but might be really interesting to play. They could have a natural trait to "hide in plain sight" as well.
>>36304045Animated objects are going to be hard. Not sure how to implement it.>>36304176Well, if you give me a GMT that would be good for britbongs I can try to run one Saturday. It's just difficult because no one is running playtests but me.
>>36304367Mind running a game from 4 until 8 GMT? Preferably text.
>>36304397I'll see what I can do about 4pm GMT. That's 11:00EST, and running for 3.5hours would put it at 3:00EST. Workable.
>>36304176>>36304230>>36304367Even if we don't leave it open as a PC race, we should still have rules for them in case the players find themselves in a certain castle in France or some shit like that.Another few item questions I just thought up: some items have benefits in the form of pluses and some drawbacks not in the form of minuses. How do we determine their effective values?Robustness requirements, for instance; a greatsword you use Robustness for anyways and the bow's requirement of 8 Robustness isn't much to ask for, but the shotgun's Robustness requirement of 10? There are a fairly limited number of builds for which a shotgun is the superior ranged attack option, and perhaps we can reflect that by having its bonus be effectively one lower for the purposes of starting items. Then there were some items that had drawbacks with no numbers at all, like the pirate captain hat that gave you +3 to intimidate against non-captain pirates but caused other captains to consider you a rival and for the EITC to mark you for death. Sounds like a net zero item to me; should we have all items with non-numerical drawbacks have drawbacks so severe that they feel like net zero items? Can we think of any non-transport items that have benefits that are not pluses?
>>36304465You're really making me think in this one. Crunch and mechanics aren't my strong suite.
>>36304465Well, if a character has a pen/pencil and paper, they should be able to take notes/write down what they see.
>>36303045You spend them, but record how many total Lessons you've earned, every time you reach a certain interval of total earned Lessons you get a new Power. We may want to up the requirements for a new power on the medium progression, one every ten seems... fast. That's like every other session, given that in all the playtests so far we've run into ~3 dangerous situations, and ~2.3 is the average lessons per person.>>36304176Chimera rules: http://pastebin.com/B8SkUwWBIf either of your animal choices could fly, you can fly.>>36304839Many hands make light work, even with unskilled ones.
>>36304881Right, so how big a deal should a non-numerical item be before we start putting rules or guidelines on starting the game with it?
>>36294966finally backwhat happened to the concept of magic? id thought we were starting to make progress with it and discuss how to make it viable and disneyfied , i come back and the first thing i see is "Lets Calm Down" as if Spergwar 3 has just happened.did we just continously rage and make polls until whoever wanted no magic was happy, because they had D&D PTSD?i just think its a wasted opportunity that a world that uses magic almost as much as wizards do, and is often seen or described as "magical" cant have magic in its mechanics.feels like such a wasted opportunity.>perhaps try it again once were done with the base?im suprised we havent sperged over items yet.

>>36305217My personal ideas, as the current anon working on the magic splat, were that magic would come in two forms for players: Items, which would generally cast support spells and be useable by any character, or Alchemy, which was mostly a Smart Guy thing, not because others couldn't use it but because you needed to be smart. For example, Jafar wouldn't be a wizard, he'd be a Sensible Guy with a Serpent Staff that granted him the abilities to cast Scrying and Hypnosis a limited number of times each day. Meanwhile, Grimhilde was a Smart Guy who used Alchemy to make the poison apple and her Magic Mirror to cast Scry an infinite number of times each day.
>>36305254Oh, and Jafar had an Artifact in the form of that scarab. Artifacts being powerful items that are unique, almost indestructible and basically just plot devices. For example, the Cauldron.

>>36307503>between trolls and Wizards>saying that as if Wizards and people pretending to be Wizards were not the trolls themselvesNo, we haven't. Magical items can certainly be included in core, so long as we're reasonable about it. >>36307598No, I'm saying the way that every thread after a certain hour of the day seems to turn into "random trolls accuse any new posters of trolling and then shove them out, enforcing a secret club mentality." You're guilty of this yourself, I've seen your posts.

>>36307749So, you just assume anyone who walks into the thread being curious is a troll? How paranoid can you get?Besides, even if they were trolls, maybe if you didn't take the bait then they'd go away.
>>36307787Then ignore them. Do not take the bait. Instead of taking the bait by yelling at the bait about how much you're not taking it, just don't take it.
>>36307733It's a reflex at this point. If a beloved family member flicks their hand in your face, it doesn't matter that you know damn well that they would never hurt you, you're going to flinch.I really wish that the wizards had never come to this thread, so that I, and others, would not have this fear and would respond to every new idea with a courteous manner and no hesitation.
>>36307805>>36307840So now it's our fault? Do you have any other critics you want to make? Maybe something about how we need to add more magic options or change some rules?
>>36307787You let them destroy it by paying attention to them. Think about it. We could have been writing fluff, making rules, finishing the game, getting this done even more than it already is. Instead, we were arguing with each other.>>36307854You could just do it anyway. There's nothing stopping you. Just think before you post reflexively. Once you've typed up your insane rant on why somebody's a troll without any real provocation, just think to yourself "Do I have enough evidence for this conclusion?" Innocent until proven guilty, bro.
>>36307886You see what I mean? Somebody critiques you about something, and you assume it's a troll.
>>36307919Maybe it's because most of the time you are trolls.
>>36307919And if you weren't a troll, you'd shake your head and leave us to our errant ways.
>>36307955>>36307958Good comeback, nice job, way to go.
>>36307854Still, that flinch is something that happens instantly and reflexively. Unless you instantly and reflexively type up a paragraph on why somebody's a troll, you can stop yourself, answer their question in a civil manner. If they keep flinging shit even after that, then yeah, they're a troll.>>36307958I'd love to, but I have an interest in seeing this project finished. Also, wow, you just went from normal, pretty cool guy to paranoid dickwad in under ten minutes. Are you an internet werewolf or something?
>>36308004>>36308009And now the mask of the reasonable poster is slipping, showing us who was behind it all along. Are you hapopy now? Does coming back here, day after day, just to troll us, make you feel any better about you pathetic lives?
>>36308004You don't offer constructive criticism, you don't offer new ideas, you deliberately brought up a controversial issue without acknowledging the reasonable compromise we've found for it and you don't acknowledge that the presence of an actual troll leaves our behavior semi-irrational at worst. Why should anyone give you the benefit of the doubt?
Is it alway the same guys? It's alway around this time of the day: everything is going great and then suddenly BAM, a couple of retards start making stupid suggestions and criticizing everything we have done.
>>36308054Both of those posts were within one minute of each other. There is no way that they could have both been the same person. Also, one is me and the other is an even bigger faggot than I am.>>36308100I've been offering constructive criticism and new ideas throughout the threads, thank you very much. I'm not nocturnal. And for the record, there is a troll. It's >>36308004. That doesn't mean he's every single poster.
>>36308125Always the same, always at the same moment: one or two trolls desperate to destroy us in anyway they can.>>36308100Always the same ideas, always the same posting style, always nagging about this or that, trying to sound reasonable and wise and caring, always asking for the befit of the doubt. Fuck that, we know it's them.
>>36308147It's not exactly easy to tell anon from anon, anon. Hell, that's why there's so many namefags in thread in the first place.
>>36308166Have you considered that I'm one of those posters and just don't believe the other guy is a troll? I have a habit of expecting the best of people, I admit.
>>36308195It's possible to tell if two posts are from the same guy, though. Just look at the time when they were posted. If they're within one minute, different people.
>>36308166>>36308196>>36308215No, I already know there are two of you: there were two of you yesterday, there were two of you the day before that and there will be two of you tomorrow. You have been haunting us since we rejected the generic fantasy idea.
>>36308266I've been here since before that. I just saw some guys coming in and didn't immediately assume they were trolls. You guys do what you want, but you'll isolate these threads and prevent new people being interested. To prove the point that I'm not a troll, I'm just going to stop replying and stop trying to end the paranoia. I can see logic and reason won't get past you. I'm trying to convince Cold War America that not everyone in Russia is Satan.
Maybe some actual discussion of mechanics and fluff will stop the constant arguing. You guys think we should stat individual types of mook or do you think we should just stick with the generic templates? Because the current templates say nothing about resurrecting or being immune to persuasion, so they can't be used for the Cauldronborn.
>>36308325Well, goodbye then!Anyhow, magic items. We accepted the idea of a magic wand earlier; it copied the genie power of being able to manipulate 1 kg or so of matter, and required a TN25 Occult check. So how do we scale up the Occult checks for more powerful wands? +5 for every doubling of the affected mass?
>>36308408I could see that working. By the way, I bring news from the magic splat on our interpretation of how magic items should work:We have a spell list, but you need an item that can cast a specific spell in order to use it. For example, you can't cast Scrying at will, but if you possess a Magic Mirror, you can. We also believed that with most items, anyone could use them. That way, we don't deny magic items to people with a low Occult skill.
>>36308370I'd say give specific mook types specific traits, if it warrants that.A better question; should Lackeys get one action or two, like PCs?I think this wizard paranoia has gone a bit far: just say that magic isn't being debated right now and give them the reason. If they go "hurr durr apprentice Mickey", then you can disregard them.
>>36308370We never did get to the Cauldronborn, did we?The consensus so far is that the rate at which they resurrect is dependent on both how they were destroyed and how thick the mist is in the particular area. So I think that every area is going to have a mist number that calculates how long it takes for the Cauldronborn to come back, and that every strike beyond the first adds a multiplier to this time (2 strikes takes twice as long as usual to revive, 3 strikes 3 times as long, etc.)
>>36308408>311 / 20 / 47 / 5nice ideabump limit reached
>>36308370Straight from the 1d4chan page:>Depending on who they are working for, Mooks may also have all kinds of weird and mystical abilities. After all, the demons that make up Chernobog’s army are hardly normal thugs. Are you so desperate to stop use from finding you out you can't even read the entire rule before criticizing us?>>36308408Finally some peace. Now, do you think every wand should have its own fixed TN, or should there be only one wand of that kind and the higher your roll the more matter you can influence?>>36308473>spell list>scryingshit nigga what are you even doing?
>>36308513Calm down. You can only cast Scrying if you are in front of and staring into a Magic Mirror. You can only cast any spell if you are using a magic item. For example, your magic wands you were discussing would let you cast Telekinesis.>>36308513Yes, and we haven't statted a single one of said mystical abilities. Now, shall we make a game or keep flinging shit?
>>36308553Then start statting, so we can see if you are actually trying to help us or if you are just here to troll us into losing more time.
>>36308513Not sure about the wands; it could go either way. Maybe all wands can influence more matter the higher you roll, but any wand might have a limit on it where you can't use it to effect any more than a given amount of mass.As to the spell list, so long as it's just a list of effects that fit the nature of Disney magic, we have nothing to worry about. Taking a look at it myself, though.
>>36308635You better do that, Knight: I may be willingful to give them the befit of the doubt they keep asking for, but we must be careful with that we allow them to get into our system.
Is there gonna be a Nightmare Before Christmas Nation?
>>36308680Technically, it's among the lines of a pocket dimension, but yeah, Bug Day is the only holiday now.
>>36308680Everybody celebrates Bug Day, anon! Don't you want to celebrate Bug Day?TOUGH. SHIT
>>36308680Nightmare before Christmas is specifically not on earth. It should have a seperate plane, like hell
>>36308680>>36308730Dream Realm. We already decided that a long time ago.
>>36308757Speaking of dreams....are there any Straylafags about? If nothing else, magic will be a potent tool of the wicked, and I for one would like to know what sort of magic the Aborigine Dreamtime could throw at a party of PCs.
>>36308757Oh okBy the way, you know what we should add?KEYBLADES:^)
>>36308831>LEL I TROLL UGo away wizards, you're drunk.
>>36308831Ironic shitposting is still shitposting
>>36308831Yes, we should have keyblades....the players should find them in the hands of the long-dead skeletons of the fools who tried to defy the Kings.
Has the thread been archived yet?
>>36308886Does you think this tread deserves to be archived?
>>36308583'Kay.CauldronbornStandard mook stats, but an 8 in Robustness, a 6 in Charm and a 3 in Intelligence.+3 to Brawl, Intimidate and Avoid Harm.Undead: The Cauldronborn will never obey commands contrary to those of the Horned King or a Wight. Though they can attempt to determine if somebody is lying, they cannot perform any other intellectual or social actions. They are also immune to any social rolls, and if killed, they come back to life within 6 days. (Roll 1d6.) Equipment is light armour and either a shield, which gives +1 to Prevent Harm, and a 1 handed weapon, a 2 handed melee weapon or a bow. They can use ranged or melee.
>>36308927Oh, and they have whatever racial modifiers you want to add if you want to make a cauldronborn tiger or some shit, but then they lose their equipment.
>>36308921Again: go way, you illiterate retard.>>36308927Wow, how did you come up with rules so easy to remember and not at all too complex to use in our system?
>>36308921I don't know anymore. I would hate to lose anything of value that might be in the thread and break the continuity of the archive, but I see your point I that not a lot has gotten done and the last couple threads have been hotbeds of infighting and dissension.
Is Arrendelle a on-a-roll kinda thing or a hero thing? I was thinking that a charming party with good intentions could get to the palace and calm angry depressed snownigger down at on-a-roll because they'd only be fightig golems on the way and have ice annas help while a dickish party of murderhobos would have an easy time getting there but would get rekt by Elsa unless they were specialized power gamers because her "puzzle solution" is just to calm her down.
>>36308844>>36308872>>36308874DISGUTING AMERICAN PIGS INSULT MY KEYBRADE?KEYBRADE FOLDED BY MASTER SAMURAI ONE MIRRION TIMESKEYBRADE UNDERPOWLED IN D20GLORIUS KINGDOM HEARTS SHAR RULE THE UNIVERSE>>36308844>>36308872Thread's gonna die kind of soon anywayBesides I'm willing to bet at least 1 in 10 people will play a Sora-esque clone/character.>>36308874That'd actually be pretty neat
>>36308927Looks good, but you need to make resurrection time more variable. Like I said in>>36308493>every area is going to have a mist number that calculates how long it takes for the Cauldronborn to come back, and that every strike beyond the first adds a multiplier to this time (2 strikes takes twice as long as usual to revive, 3 strikes 3 times as long, etc.)That way, some areas would make the Cauldronborn less of a threat, and mightier warriors would be much harder to overwhelm with respawning Cauldronborn. I also think 1d6 days is a little long; it didn't even take them 5 minutes to pop up when they were in the Horned King's castle.
>>36309015FUCK OFF, WIZARDS!
>>36308927I'd make them come back to life a lot quicker. THe ones we see in the film animate within minutes of the mist touching them, and HK's done a lot of work on the Crochan since then.
>>36308991Hey, sorry that the guys who are meant to come back to life after being dead come back to life after being dead. But if you think it's too rules-heavy, feel free to alter something. Also, is it really too much to remember? All it is is this:>Only listens to Horned King and his bros>Can't into social skills, and it's two-way>Come back after they dieIs that so hard to remember?
>>36309003>>36309015I sure do love it when legitimate balance/crunch questions are drowned out by retarded shitposters salty about not getting steampunk goblins in.
>>36309015What a stupid faggot
Archivist Anon here. Should I archive this thread, or not? Please let me know, or feel free to archive it yourselves.
>>36309067>what is a rules light system?>why can't the cannon fodders have 8 here, 6 there, 3 over there, a bonus to this and to that and rules for which rolls they can make and not make?>what is being too stupid to live?
>>36309090Archive it as "nothing useful happened this thread"This is what happens when Nob and all our fluff namefags vanish for a thread.
>>36309144New thread here.
>>36309090Don't listen to >>36309130,it's just wizards trying to troll us even more: every threads must be archived with the right name.
>>36309111>Having different stats is complicatedDude, there's rules-light and then there's being unable to count.
>>36309003Can someone answer this? Do we even know?
>>36309170Wow, where did I hear this complain before? I wonder...
>>36309111The Cauldronborn are the entire basis of the Horned King's powerThey are NOT just your regular mooks, they're pretty damn elite
>>36309090Right or wrong, the thread is archived. Please vote it and the others up.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+VictoriousOnce the new thread is started, I should have a bit of Atlantean writing completed to start the fluff up again.
>>36309279So you want them to be lackeys? That would murder the heroes in a flash. We are making dark Disney here, not Warhammer GrimderpK
>>36309327Only if you're dumb enough to go there at Zero level.
>>36309327Well, the pitch for them originally was 'Skeleton Terminators'.
>>36309327Not if they don't go in as rookies
>>36309090Archive it. Could be useful in the future, let nothin go to waste.

>>36309933One's already up, lad.
