Welcome to the XIX installment of "Disney Villains Victorious."Disney Villains Victorious is a new /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole. It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog. It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+Victorioushttp://1d4chan.org/wiki/Disney_villains_victoriousAssembled pastebins:King/Land/Rule: http://pastebin.com/p6UzetYh (Needs to be updated)Class roles: http://pastebin.com/fj58NSYMXP: http://pastebin.com/61Je2agNBeast Species: http://pastebin.com/ZNVPBJWjSetting Traits: http://pastebin.com/8RRbwMQTGeneric Traits: http://pastebin.com/MZwvGsyXLore & Fluff: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qj_IIuF_rqh_F2L-SeYn-dBiwDTtwWFpnbcXyfcgeE8
>>36140431I searched all the Disney characters considered to be 'giant', which includes guys as small as Black Pete. If there were ogres, I would have found them. But, as you said, it wouldn't be unreasonable to include characters from Mickey shorts just for the sake of having giants. After all, giants are a pretty ubiquitous monster throughout Europe. So, Prydain and the rest of Europe has giants now, and they are indeed quite giant. How does this change everything, other than giant skeletons showing up among the Cauldronborn?
>>36140835Chances are they serve the Fae as shock troops. When they want a particularly persistent fortress destroyed and the Fey Hunters (Manhunters?) just aren't doing it, they send the Giants.
We also have dwarves, who I imagine are enslaved by Grimhilde to mine and make excellent weapons and armour for her troops. Nothing but the best! I probably should've included that in her KLR.
>>36140893I'd imagine the Seven might be leading an uprising.
Not much of a song writer, but I took a shot at adapting "I'll Make a Man Out of You" into a song that our Mulan the Undying could sing to her new recruits, living and dead.[Mulan]>Let's get down to business;>To defeat the Huns;>They thought my death would end this;>But it's just begun.>I know you're mad, scared and upset;>But you can bet before we're through;>Somehow I'll free our land from Shan Yu.>Tranquil are the grave sites;>But there lie within.>A thousand-thousand soldiers;>That will help us win.>Be not afraid to do what it takes;>Because together we'll make it through; >Somehow I'll free our land from Shan Yu.[Recruits]>There's blood and incense on her breath.>Can't live up to what she's demanding. >I am but one man in the crowd. >This woman's got 'em scared to death.>How is it now that she's still standing.>I'll do all my ancestors proud.[Chorus]>Free our land>We heed the will of the reverend spirits;>Free our land>Prepared to fight on through death and more;>Free our land>Minds, hearts and souls joined in righteous purpose;>Together we will unite and win the war![Mulan]>Time is racing toward us till the Huns' demise;>Heed my every order and you might survive;>Be not afraid to do what it takes;>Because together we'll make it through; >Somehow I'll free our land from Shan Yu.[Chorus]>Free our land>We heed the will of the reverend spirits;>Free our land>Prepared to fight on through death and more;>Free our land>Minds, hearts and souls joined in righteous purpose;>Together we will unite and win the war!>Free our land>We heed the will of the reverend spirits;>Free our land>Prepared to fight on through death and more;>Free our land>Minds, hearts and souls joined in righteous purpose;>Together we will unite and win the war!
>>36140872Mirror Kingdom's pretty big, though, and so is the land of the Holy Lich. With such stiff competition around, are they still able to carry on their violent and fairly carefree lifestyle? Or have the days of pillaging giants come to an end?
Ok, i'm new and I haven't looked through all the archived threads so maybe it's already been suggested, but what about The Nightmare Before Christmas? Has that been included or have you guys decided it wouldn't fit?You could do something like a seperate realm or a pocket dimension where Oogy Boogy has defeated Jack Skellington and taken over the christmas, easter, whatever other holiday world. So instead of the standard fare you get messed up mockeries of what those holidays used to be.
And I'm awake again. Has the last thread been archived?>>36140947That's great stuff, songwritin's a tough game.
>>36140990played with, but never went anywhereSomeone mentioned 365/24/7 Bug Day
>>36140990Don't think anything's been cemented for Oogie yet, couple ideas floating around. One is that he succeeded in killing Santa and runs the North Pole now.Other is that he loves gamblin' so much that he's in charge of all the casinos out west.
>>36141017I think so, but whoever's in charge of the pastebins needs to start digging through the past 5 threads or so, lots of new traits have shown up recently.
>>36141064He gives bugs to all the naughty boys and girls. Grimhilde is really pissed off about the worms in her makeup box.
>>36141017I've archived the last thread, not to worry Plane: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+Victorious
Blue Fairy KLR >>36139132
>>36141064There was also this from one of the past threads.>Just like the opening of Nightmare Before Christmas, the Bugs Day parade sweeps through towns and causes people to dance and sing before hurling themselves into the pot of snake-and-spider stew.>As the king of Holidays, everyone gets a Boogie Present. Pray you don''t survive your Boogie present.
>>36141017Thanks. The idea just caught itself in my brain until I banged it out. Wish I wasn't at work so I could contribute more.
>>36141191Hate to disappoint, but the Refuge of te Far was cut about 4-5 threads ago and replaced with Yzma's tributaries. The idea of a big "good" empire just didn't really fit. We could reuse this for something else though.
>>36141204>>36141105Bug's Day would be a good angle, sort of a holiday event boss. All of the kings get annoyed because Oogie's parades somehow worm their way into their realms no matter how well-protected, where he sows chaos with his bug brigades in the name of holiday spirit.
>>36141245>Refuge of the FairSorry, I derped for a moment.
>>36141017We're not doing Pixar, right?
>>36141273Most Pixar has been ignored. Only exception I can think of so far is Charles Muntz as a senior member of the Global Huntsmen's club.
>>36141245yeah, but they're still there, just poor as fuck from the tribute

>>36141304So, it's a small thing, but should Turbo-Racing be the most popular game in the world?
>>36141273Oh, and Merida up in Scotland against the rampaging Mor'du.
>>36141273If I remember rightly, there a few VERY rare Pixar references, like Charles Muntz being a member of the Huntsmen and his airship being heir mobile base, but that's it as far as I know.
>>36141323WiR is actually Disney, but a lot of modern/sci-fi Disney is being put off for now too, like Big Hero 6 or Lilo & Stitch.
>>36141350Did we ever settle anything about the Sheriff of Nottingham? Or is that too cartoony now?
>>36141216And I wish I was at home too, plinking away at the tales of King Arthur's knights.Speaking of King Arthur, I was reading through the lore document and found a bit about Eugene being a member of the Round Table...it got me thinking. What if the Round Table extends far beyond Prydain, and is actually an alliance between many of the Disney princes, made for the purpose of getting their kingdoms back one at a time?
>>36141324Someone suggested having Robin Hood be a legacy type character because the actual fox himself is missing, presumed dead.Merida would be really neat to have as a successor IMO.
>>36141350Right. As if now, they're part if a theoretical modern-age expansion.
>>36141365The beast-men of Britain are now counted among the ranks of the Horned King's Cauldronborn legions.
>>36141365I think the plan was that Prince John and the Sheriff succeeded, but the Horned King transforming most of Britain into a zombie wasteland forced him out. He's sulking on the Island of Naboombu right now, but it hasn't been added to the map, we need to wait for the Cartographer to get back.
>>36141417Either on Naboombu, or in the courts of the Pridelands, petitioning Scar's aid against the Horned King.
>>36141437Either way, still pitching a fit while he demands everyone else fix things for him. Classic John.
>>36141417I liek to think that as soon as they killed Robin, king Richard and start gloating, the Cauldron-Mist starts rolling in, with the Horned King at the storm's front.>Two kings in one day. My my, this will be one for the books.
>>36141365Either he's still the bodyguard/right hand man of King John (general consensus is that he has found refuge in the Pridelands, and costantly pesters Scar to launch an assault on Prydain and help him reclaim his kingdom) or he told him to take a hike and is now another of the Horned King's henchmen.
>>36141461>Why does every other king have their own country except for me! It's unfair! It's miserably unfair!>[thumb sucking intensifies]
>>36141511>God-liege, why did you not kill and raise King John?>And have him sully the ranks of my beloved Cauldron-Born?
>>36141511>[thumb sucking intensifies]Somebody please gif this
>>36141316Did you think up any fluff for who Simmertap is as a character? Could add the to the example character list with the other three. Also, I don't think those three are up to date on the pastebin. I remember Anon fleshing their descriptions out a but more in the early threads.
>Daily reminder that Evil Emperor Zerg rules all of space
There has to be a link between this guy and Kaa. Two snakes, clearly not of the same species, separated by thousands of miles, nearly on opposite ends of the continent, and they both have the same hypnotic ability? Unless hypnosis is just something inherent to constrictor snakes, something has to be up.
>>36141632Maybe a power/trait for snakes is Swirly Eyes/Dance of the Hunger (from the book), available only for large snakes.
>>36141655I'd only have called Hiss a medium snake, though. No way he could've fit a child in his gullet.
shouldn't we make the mission in hunnic china twofold:first part: depose shan yu and have him executedsecond part: prevent the 12 great houses from wiping each other out to find the next emperor
>>36141699>first part: depose shan yu and have him executed>second part: prevent the 12 great houses from wiping each other out to find the next emperor>And that's the story of how my character ended up as the Emperor of China.png
>>36141632I'd be down with Hiss abandoning John and setting up shop in Kaa's realm. He's still a simpering toady but now he's got a snake to suck up to.
>>36141770Makes sense, heard about Kaa from Scar and abandoned John now that he's utterly powerless.
>>36141802John still has the Sherrif though. Although he's a washed up drunk.
>>36141770>>36141736I presume that the ability of medium and large snakes to hypnotize would be something known instinctively. Otherwise, we'd have to figure out exactly who they learned this ability from...
>>36141655I am in favor of thisTrait for snakes, perhaps all reptilesLike a Bird in Front of a...: Snakes of Medium or larger size can hypnotize one target per scene. Target must be able to make eye contact and Hypnosis takes 2 rounds to happen. If successful, +3 to all persuasion checks. Any command that would cause the victim to harm themselves causes them to snap out of it and distrust the Snake, -4 to all further attempts.
>>36141531Not a lot. I was thinking that she'd have escaped from being a prisoner in a pirate ship and would be incredibly frustrated about how there's so little fun and good in the world nowadays. Wants to beat back evildoer with magic and bring back good magicians because magic is for fun, tricks and hilarious mischief, notnfor enslavement and eternal darknessThat said, if I had to decide on ideals and goals...Ideals:-Defend and support those that use magic for good-Defeat those that use evil magic-Have fun! (Punching is fun.)Goals:-Bring good and neutral magic back as the most proeminent-Personally take down evil sorcerors like Jafar and Maleficent-Fun! (I'm not very good at this)Anybody got tips? I know I missed up some
>>36141817I'm guessing that Trigger and Nutsy are hanging out with the Beatles vultures somewhere in Shere Khan's domain. They're still trying to figure out how to fit in without armor and crossbows.
>>36141853Just shallow enough to be the comic relief.
>>36141732>>36141699That's actually a good point. I like that. In the same way that the Adendelle Campaign teaches players and characters that not all "BBEGs" necessarily need to be killed for the party to be victorious, having killing Shan Yu be only the first half of the Hunnic China Campaign shows then that just because the BBEG is killed it doesn't immediately make all the country's problems go away.
>>36141732Now, this is the story all about howChina's life got turned upside downSo I'd like to take a minute, just listen up MinaAnd I'll ya about how I became Emperor of China
>>36141853>>36141873I what you've got a lot. She'd make a good comic relief but with a good deal of depth of feeling and conviction in her. She's probably get along with the Atlantean Mechanic character as they both seem to have a penchant for trouble making.
>>36141873Yeah, that's what I thought. Is there any way I can make her a little less shallow? I always end up making shallow characters and then they just spiral out once I start playing
>>36141892Should we employ this mentality for the other campaigns?"Not everything is as simple as it first appears."Could we make it so that defeating doctor facilier makes the friends collect everyone's debts at once?
>>36141971I've always started with shallow characters myself. Relying on campaign events to provide character depth doesn't work for everyone, I guess.Try tying her to a specific ship, a specific part of the world, a specific ideal of 'fun'.
>>36141975Maybe not at once, as Facilier's promised every Shadowlander's soul to the Other side and the party should have some way to stop it before everyone in his realm gets their soul ripped out.
>>36141975>>36142012That can tie into the Other Worlds too, since Facilier was keen on snatching those up for his Friends.
>>36141417Sorry, I've been pretty busy todayCheck the Chagos Island
>>36141975Killing Facilier seems to restore order to the deep south but it marks the player characters for death. They will be targeted and hunted by a vicious killer. They can run, but they can't hide. Not as long as they are stalked by the assassin known only as Proud
>>36142006Well, it always worked well for me, but I tend to keep my characters simple without even tryingEh, at least I'll be able to cheer up the party ofteb
>>36141975>>36142012Or perhaps those of the Other Side need an agent to be able to interact with the mortal world. Provided Facilier is the only agent of this particular group of Friends, killing him would save all the souls of the Shadowland, as the Friends would be unable to collect. There's always going to be political loose ends to clean up, though. That shit's like death and taxes. Or for the tributaries of Yzma, death, taxes, more taxes and even more taxes.
>>36142012so in a way, Killing the BBEG in this campaign puts the party on a timer. So would beating Frollo make it easier to take down the Hunters Club in some way, after all with one of their members distracted it will be harder for them to co-ordinate once you do take them on.
>>36142088Could always make it so that in order to get the true disney ending, you have to find a way to first cancel the the soul-debts - this is where a guy with a lot of Occult ranks starts cracking his head - and then defeat FacilierThe Friends will be mighty pissed off
>>36142053Is it just me, or is Chernabog's realm expanding ever so slightly with each new map?
>>36142147IT IS JUST YOU BRIEF MORTAL
>>36142147HAHAHAHAHAIt's just youStop asking questions
So I'm just making sure I understand.Judge Frollo is in control of Utah?
>>36142147JUST A TRICK OF YOUR FEEBLE HUMAN MIND!
>>36142180Nah, Alameda Slim has nearly the same color though. The lists are divided up by continent.
>>36142180Yeah, Dread needs to start using a different yellow for Alameda's realm.Do we have plains Indians out there in the Wild West?
>>36142078There's nothing wrong with having a simple or comedic character idea. In a setting as relatively dark as this one, a little levity will go a long way.If you wanted to make her a more complicated character though, you could go the ugly duckling route with her being a ROBUST fairy that had to learn to make her own fun and make one of her Goals to find acceptance, or give her issues with authority or responsibility that get explored throughout the campaign or something.
>>36142182>>36142169>>36142159Well alright, but if I start seeing him reaching outside of Eurasia.....
>>36141632Disney was cheap as fuck and wanted to reuse as much animation as they could.
>>36141817I still like the idea that the Sheriff works for the Horned King now. Gives a midlevel boss for anyone involved there, and someone to lend some character to mobs of Cauldron-Born.
>>36142290Oh, I knew that, but if he just wanted to cut down on new things he had to draw, he didn't really accomplish anything by giving Hiss hypnotic powers.
>>36142191Im fine with this. I have the perfect guy to take him out.
>>36142317Captain Crocodile does.
The yellow was bugging me as well, so I altered it to a more gold color
Think I might try writefagging a bit more (which is weird, since this Disney stuff is the first writefagging I've really done on the boards here).Any topic requests? Villains? Heroes?
>>36142317A Cauldronborn Wolf? I can dig it. It might also characterise John a bit more. He's a guy who's literally lost everyone who was ever loyal to him but he's still plugging away, desperate to get his realm back.
>>36142336Yeah, he was the only candidate that fulfilled the most important of the Horned King's requirements: a deep, gravelly voice.
>>36142267EURASIA IS JUST BIGGER THAN YOU THOUGHT! EVERY ONE KNOWS THAT!
>>36142358Question. In Bednobs and Broomsticks, the villains are technically the Nazis that invade England.So.... Nazi Cauldron-born?
>>36142362Maleficent taunting Frollo outside his Cathedral?Horned King kicking King John out of England?Facilier, Slim and Radcliffe have a meeting?Someone tries to step into the Spirit Realm and gets fucked up?>>36142396Just to get across that the Horned King is evil.
>>36142213...We could use the villainous Indian from Pochahantas.
>>36142396Nazis? Bah! There's too much competition around for Hitler to have ever rose to power.
>>36142396Never watched B&B, so I can't tell you
>>36142421King John begging Scar for advice.
>>36142429...Time-lost Nazis from Merlin's big spell. Or Chum O'Bawg fucking around.
>>36142423That was one guy, though, and he's in Virginia.I do seem to remember a Disney movie starring a wild stallion which features plains Indians...
>>36142459At the very end, a Nazi landing party arrives in England but get scared away be magically animated suits of armour. It's all very silly but if the villains won, then technically there should be a pocket of Nazis in England.Nazis that are now under the Horned King's rule...
So I've missed a lot.So did Elsa not save Anna or something and turn evil?
>>36142474Spirit? That's Dreamworks.
>>36142246Nah, I'll try the complex game on another character. How about an ex-piano player on one of Alameda Slim's bars that was told by his son he was a wimp just before he went to join Slim's ranks? Now he wants become a manlier man, get his son out of that too-near-goddamn-dinosaurs life and....What, I wonder.I'll work on it. How does that sound? Sensible Guy there
>>36142421I did a brief one between Facilier and Slim that's in the catalogue already, actually.>>36142463I guess I can do one about John and Scar that works in the details of his ousting by the Horned King.
>>36142362>>36142421- New recruits meeting Mulan the Undying for the first time.- Ursula's point of view on anything.- The Elite Global Hunters' Club discussing current affairs over cocktails with Cruella De'Ville in Muntz' zeppelin.
>>36142488and so are mindless skellingtons with German uniformsNo change
>>36142517Dammit.In any event, there should be some plains Indians, even if none of the movies give us anything to indicate their nature. No, Peter Pan does not count.
>>36142506Pretty much. Anna died, Elsa went steadily crazier and froze over the whole kingdom completely. She's not evil so much as absolutely broken though she is susceptible to whispers from Chernobyl.
so lets get this straightliterally anything that has died in the horned king's lands have become couldron bornthis effectively meansThe people of sword and the stone are cauldronbornCauldron born Insects, mammal and reptilesMost of the people from Robin Hood are cauldron bornThe Nazi's from Bedknobs and broomsticks are now cauldron bornBruce Forysth is a cauldron born (played as a muggar)
>>36142474OK, my thought is this. So that guys wanted a pure civilization unsullied by dangerous outsiders. He can't send Radcliffe back into the sea, and he realizes more of them will come. So he uses his demagoguery and violence to drive the Powhattan inland, away from Virginia, and start a violently isolationist society that drives off or kills outsiders as soon as they're spotted.
>>36142591Except for any that the GM decided survived, yes.
>>36142362anything to do with Scar, Bagheera (my strong personal vote for this), or Aurora Borialis
>>36142552Fund it.>>36142591Yes.>>36142601They live in the Spirit Lands, don't they?
>>36142563theres the lone ranger but that aint animated
>>36142563The best you'll get outside of Tiger Lily et al is Hiawatha. But he's a little boy in a single cartoon who was probably eaten by a bear in our world.
do Church bells still defeat Chernobog?
>So would beating Frollo make it easier to take down the Hunters Club in some way, after all with one of their members distracted it will be harder for them to co-ordinate once you do take them on.we should make a map of who affects who in the game timeline
Can I just say that my favorite part of all of this is the fact that the "You don't say Cherry blossom's name" caught on in the threads themselves too?
>>36142653this is sorta that, if you extrapolate>>36142658better safe than sorry
>>36142591>>36142614>>36142625meaning this guy is now cauldronborn(think he hosts wheel of torture?)
>>36142625Their origins lie in Virginia.>>36142601That possibility would be very interesting if there were already plains Indians (let's call them Sioux, it's catchier) whose land the Powhattan are now trying to settle, creating a three-way territory war between the cowboys, the Sioux and the Powhattan.
>>36142686This is turning into an absurd Alan Moore-esque alternate reality where modern Britain is exactly the same but everyone's dead.>Strictly Come Deadthings
>>36142689Hm....but now that I look at the map again, they'd have to make their way across the shadowlands to reach the Old West.
>>36142534I like it. Sort of puts me in mind of a down to earth western character in a world he views as having gone mad, but that he's obligated to make a name for himself in.>>36142506Elsa did not save Anna, but she isn't evil. Not in the way that most other Villains in this setting are evil. She's frozen Arendelle solid because her grief has turned into madness and she's lost almost all control over the super blizzard she'd conjured up. Meanwhile, her longing for her dead sister has animated her body, now completely turned to ice, creating the character Ice Anna. She knows that she's not the real Anna, but tries her darnedest to pretend to be for Elsa's benefit, and to try to experience what it's like to be human.
>>36142662Can he leave his mountain? Is Frollo safe from him then?
>>36142733Frollo doesn't have a clue, but he's worshipping Churned Bug now.
>>36142717Shadowlands come after Slim and Virginia.
>>36142733Safe from his new God?
>>36142707>see cauldronborn bruce forsyth trying to kill you>'And Now Its Time For Your Brucie Bonus!'>as your head gets chopped off>The horned king just watches this and chuckles
>>36142717Were events in Pocahantas and The Frog Prince concurrent?
>>36142707Nah, there's still living people in England. HK allows them to live so that they produce more bodies to grow his armies. They just have to deal with the necrotic mist he likes spraying everywhere. If anything you could turn it into an Allegory for the Great War.
>>36142733Frollo may be a servant of his, we're leaving that up to the GM, but for the most part he doesn't leave because he can't be arsed to chase down a few individuals who could never take him down in any case. He's having too much fun giggling and watching as the world burns
>>36142754>A freshly created Cauldron-Born rises from the dead, flesh sloughing off the bone>"Keeeeeep dancing!"
>>36142754>Cauldronborn Karl Plinkerton.
>>36142751You mean chronologically? Because the current map has the shadowlands separating the two.
>>36142765To elaborate on that, >The mist is the rather infamous smog of early Industrial London>Dying and becoming a Cauldron-born is being drafted because you're effectively dead and even if you return you're probably not the same person they used to know.
>>36142765do the townspeople treat this as a bonding/coming of age ritual?Youre now a man, so we must kill youwhy?>so you become the great cauldronborn mah boii
>>36142784>Karl gets raised as a cauldron-born>"No, I can't be doin' with this.">collapses once more into a pile of dusty bones
>>36142755The timeline is, simply put, a clusterfuck that allows all the villains and heroes (that we choose to use, anyways) to be alive at the same time.
>>36142793Yes, chronologically. Plenty of time for the Native Americans to move east before the Shadowman comes north.>>36142807>>36142800Way I see it, living in Prydain has two rules.>If you're told to do something by a Wight, FUCKING DO IT>Leave your dead outside, preferably armed and armoured.
>>36142809>Karl becomes cauldron born>but i dont want to diet>through sheer willpower because a fat skeleton
It's really bad that I want a Cauldronborn analog of the Top Gear crew obsessing over whatever Atlantean vehicles their King manages to capture now.
>>36142836>willpower>karlyou done goofed
>>36142809>Karl gets raised as a cauldron-born>"No, I can't be doin' with this.">Absolutely nothing happens.>Wight: "What do you mean you can't be doing this?">"I just can't, I can't, be doing with this.">[20 minutes of bickering]
>>36142836There is a single fat skeleton in the Horned King's castle. It doesn't do anything, it's not a boss. The HK keeps it around because even he has no idea how a skeleton managed to get fat.
>Hero infiltrates Horned Castle>gets grabbed by bruce forsyth cauldronborn>"Too see you to see you nice"

The cauldronborn possibilities are endless.Question: What sort of basic adventure might a low-level party have in Atlantis? >>36143961And there folks, we have the next Disney movie to use the magic feather.
>>36143860I like this story.
>>36143808Exactly. Maybe, depending on the perp's Debts and the Friends trying to collect them, everything starts off real small time: some Atlanean youth's comic book gets filched, an exile's luggage gets ransacked while they aren't paying attention, things are getting stolen or messed with and the refugees' harborside slums and dockside tent city starts buzzing with rumors and mistrust. It doesn't just stop at petty thefts though, and slowly but surely escalates as the Shadowlander in question gets increasingly desperate to pay off what he owes by any means the Friends offer him.One possible solution might be, somehow, to beseech Kidagakash, the Heart of Atkantis for aid. I bet that bright old crystal could shine a light bright enough to melt those shadows away for good.

High focus on character development - potentially becoming more jaded, etc. Also prefers to be called 'Sverd' because he thinks Martin isn't manly enough, and is torn between his teachings of pursuit of personal glory, loyalty to Arrendelle and loyalty to God, as well as his 'personal' ideas that everyone ever can be redeemed, and absolutely no one needs to die. Not stupid, but SUPER easy to manipulate by praying on his incredibly innocent ideals.Pic related is a pretty decent char art similar to him appearance-wise, quite lean.Thoughts and honest criticism GREATLY appreciated.
>>36144100Also:Equipment – 1x Aging Heraldic Fur-and-Plate Armor, 1x Unmaintained Heraldic Longsword, 1x Hunting KnifeLittle extra note since character limit was on last post: I intended Martin to be as close to a Disney Prince as possible, without being a ‘generic fuck toy’ like that one anon put it a few threads back, while still being an interesting enough character and relatively distinct with some actual flaws (Belief in personal inadequacy and unworthiness + unmanliness in eyes of parents/superiors, peers, God, covered up by sarcasm and occasional holier-than-thou attitude). Hopefully putting quite some emphasis on character development based on how the story goes and background, which I have planned out pretty nicely in contrast with his naïve character. Did I do okay? Totally open to criticisms and stuff here. Also, if anyone is hosting a game, please tell me, I don’t have a real-life group because no one likes /tg/ stuff where I live, especially my friends.
OK, so I kind of feel like Louie should be trying to ingratiate himself to Roarke and any magic user her can find. His whole character was a self-centered prometheus. He's not going to be satisfied being Jungle VIP. He's going to be bored and frustrated and his ambitions will take him higher. So given his appreciations and understanding, it seems like he'd be desperate to get his hands on the latest technology, and magic.
>>36144155Also, given his goals, shouldn't a significant portion of his kingdom be human?I figure he probably also dresses like a human too.
>>36144100>>36144127Wow, you basically made a really solid prince for Elsa. One that's arguably better and less one-directional than other real princes like prince eric, while still being a viable and cool character.I'm actually pretty impressed. Would adventure with.
>>36144155>>36144208...He might also be a total sucker for Facilier.
>>36144155>>36144208>>36144244I'd assume he would be trying to get anything he can from the East India Trading Company, though he'd be a sucker for any deal. Hades might be a better choice though, he's closer, plus has the whole fire aspect that has Louie so obsessed.
>>36144233Aw, thanks, anon.Anybody else? Also, someone should really look into planning a /tg/ game, we seem to have more than enough willing players
>>36144100Very good, very good!
>>36144279See, here's where extrapolating from the movies gets complicated. Louie didn't strike me as obsessed with fire, he was obsessed with social climbing, and becoming civilized. He just seemed to think fire was the key to that. I'm assuming once her got fire and "strolled right into town'" trying to be a man, he quickly discovered he needed other things, primarily money, and shortly thereafter weapons.
>>36144100Chivalrous/10Would adventure with
>>36144127Pretty good, I like that he's prince material without being a bland figurehead. Might need some tweaking (I don't know the technical stuff as well), but he's a guy I would DM for.>>36144396Fair point, he'd be after just about everything.
>>36144100>>36144127You've got a really solid character here, and I think you've done a pretty good job at making a believable DVV prince. How would he react to meeting Ice Anna and Olaf, do you suppose?
>>36144477I'm kind of picturing, like I said, Louie has all the trappings of being human these days and thinks Kaa and Scar, and Sher Khan are gauche.I think maybe his kingdom is also happy to take human refugees so long as they're useful.
>>36144127>>36144100Offhand, I'd like to point out that It's Just A Flesh Wound gives you back 2 strikes for a will point, no penalties, no special circumstance, no questions asked and no one seems to have objected to it. Also, if you dig back 3 threads (or maybe 4) in the archive, you'll find a bunch of knightly powers and traits I put up.By now I'm sure that my brain has been thoroughly poisoned by D&D 3.5, because the first thing I thought when I looked at the build was "It's trying to do two things, and it's not optimized for either." But then I remembered that this system won't repeatedly stomp on your head if you're not perfectly optimized. And of course, you'd only suffer from having a less-than-optimized party face if your GM hit you with intrigue and courtly drama all the time. There are plenty of campaigns I would gladly accept this guy into, both from the point of a player and of a GM.Oh, and the concept is sound.
>>36144540Oh man, here's a really dark thought: Louie is really happy to spend time with McLeach. He has distanced himself so thoroughly that he has no problem hunting animals for sport, and even hosts McLeach in his kingdom where they hunt his former subjects.Louie refuses to acknowledge them as such.
>>36144526Not totally sure, but it'd probably involve at least a minor flip-out when he realized it was actually Princess Anna - he's never actually seen either princess, and rumors about them have been few and of little substance since Coronation day was the first day either of them had come out to the public, and was immediately followed by the freezing of the entire subcontinent. Martin was maintaining the family house (Much to his personal anger) while his father went down to pay his respects as a minor noble. The rest is history.>>36144623Yeah, I designed him with less regard for practicality than I perhaps should have, but he works pretty well as a minor diplomat and mainly as a fighter. That's also quite useful info, I'll definitely check the archive and revamp stuff.
>>36142213Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.Nuff zed.
>>36144668That's... damn, you weren't kidding, that is dark as hell. But I could see Louie doing it to be just like the hunters.
>>36144772Maybe Louie would eventually become an honorary member of the Hunters Guild?
>>36144668>>36144833Pretty dark, yeah.
>>36144772Cue darker version of "I wanna be like you" directed at the villains.
>>36142053>>36142358I still think that el dorado should be replaced by Senor Senior Senior from Kim Possible.
>>36144869>>36144833All this rustles my jimmies, because for all the times I watched The Jungle Book as a kid, I cannot see Louie as an actual antagonist. He was just some happy go lucky orangutan who wanted to be like a man.
>>36145051Goooood, gooood. Let the rustling flow. It pleases Chernobog.
>>36145018I've got plenty of other reasons not to include stuff from Kim Possible, but most of them are subjective so I'll just say that it's too far forward in the timeline and leave it at that.
>>36145051That's the thing though, Louie is still happy go lucky about everything, he just wants to be a man.The manliest man of the land are out hunting with guns, so he'll gladly join in to be just like them, doesn't think of the consequences at all.
>>36145064YOU FOOL! YOU HAVE SPOKEN THE DREAD ONE'S NAME!
>>36145092>Cue huge "WHAT HAVE I DONE" moment when Louie realizes what he has done>Later on sacrifices himself to trap Shere Khan and Kaa into the red flower by using himself as bait while the party or his monkeys make a ring of fire around all three.> Khan and Kaa survive. It was for nothing
>>36145099Maybe he's a burnt out husk of a man from Bald Mountain. It wouldn't really surprise me if he was
>>36145051Louie's jimmies are unrustled. Why the long face, swinger? They're just monkeys.
>>36145092Oh, I get it. He's like a little kid doing everything he sees his older brother doing, never understanding or questioning why the older brother does it, nor whether it's the right thing to do.
>>36145137>Cue huge "WHAT HAVE I DONE" moment when Louie realizes what he has done>Louie realizes he is absolutely OK with that and dances off.
>>36145149Cognitive dissonance. That's all resolved now.
>>36145153Exactly. He's one of the least malevolent villains, but therefor one of the most dangerous ones. He'll fuck around with stuff Facilier, Roarke and Jafar wouldn't. Not because they're not evil enough, but because they'd be worried about the consequences.
>>36144100The most chivalrous motherfucker in this thread. 20/10, would engage in jolly cooperation.
>>36144869With a slower, slightly off-tempo effect. Like a warped LP. >>36145334>Now don't try to kid me, Doctor, I'll make a deal with you >What I desire is man's Empires to make my dreams come true >So give me the secret, Doctor, clue me what to do >Give me the power to make men cower so I can be like you
>>36145334>>36145301>>36145137>>36145092>>36145153>Louie realizes that under most circumstances humans stick together with their own kind and watch out for each other>something he hasn't been doing at all recently>it occurs to him that the men he's been emulating are in fact very bad menAnd that's how the PCs got Louie on their side.
>>36145334>>36145404That's some good corruption right there.
>>36145477That, and I think Louie could be very easy to get to at least cooperate with the party. He doesn't actively try to hurt people. And I think he admires a party of PCs that are trying to pull themselves up by their bootstraps like he did.I also had this thought, Louie and Khan have to be caught in a perpetual no-contest scenario.Louie wanted to be a man, and have the power of fire.Fire is the one thing Khan can't stand against. But Khan wanted a Jungle free from man. So by becoming a man, Louie can no longer contest Khan's jungle. And so, their only hope is for somebody else to take out the other one. Cue endless Plot Hooks.
>>36145147I'm an anon on 4chan. Being a burnt out husk is a prerequisite.
Things we still need done:>more solid traits, complied on a pastebin>more powers>expansion of tiers>a consensus on social mechanics>number crunching/balancingJust a little more and we have a functional Alpha, ready for playtesting.
>>36145571Thing is, we've been pumping out traits and powers for the past five or so threads but somehow they always end up getting swallowed up by the flow and not recordedAnybody got a suggestion, or is it just a matter of someone doing an archive dive?
>>36145608Archive diving is fun and rewardingAn update to the pastebin would make you a real American hero, anon
>>36145608Take the plunge, anon. Between real life and writing up the knights, I'm a bit busy myself.

Can Duckverse villains come, too?
>>36144100Easily the most chivalrous character in this thread.Hopefully he'll adventure with the KNIGHT COCKROACH i'm currently statting.
>>36145900I think the Duckverse lore is WAY too rich to incorporate.
>>36145900How many times do we have to say that the Duckverse is not part of the core system? Can you people look at the archive from time to time?
Maybe we should add a "These products have been ruled out of being included in the core game" category on the 1d4chan article
>>36145571The tiers have been expanded.Social mechanics are fine as they are. Not sure why they need to be expanded.Number crunching is.... as done as it's going to be without a playtest. I've balanced it on statistical averages on 3d6.I'm working on Powers now right after I finish a surprise ally for the PCs.
>>36145930Dude, we've made 20 threads in like what? A week? That's a bit much.
>>36145963True.Also, holy shit, 20 threads in a week. Well done, /tg/. You've made me proud.
Alright, I'm doing a small archive dive here, so I'm just pointing out what's going onI'm taking all traits that I can find, including the ones already approved, and compiling them all. I'm making the format a bit more organized too, because frankly the current pastebin has like three different kinds of formatations and spacings and it's a messI'm putting the generic traits right on the top, so if anybody want to take the pastebin later and just copy the more organized version on its pastebin, be my guest. Also, powers. I'm placing the powers on where I, personally, think that they should be but feel free to discuss and change them somewhere else, I'm just trying to get as much info as I can into those. That said, I'll go back to diving.
>>36146017It is rather impressive, moreso because its not JUST discussion of the fluff but also crunch.Still, no reason to get cocky. Game needs playtesting, expansions to expand upon, space to space spacing spacerton. SPACE.

>>36146801>But what about sages? Nothing definitive has been decided yet. But just for you, I have two powers that could be seen as magic -- offensive, and defensive.
Alright everybody, listen up.I did a quick search throughout the last six threads and this is what I compliedTRAITS: http://pastebin.com/uHCXg4EVPOWERS:http://pastebin.com/pQDDqisUApologies in advance for not separating any of them properly, from balanced to imbalanced. I know it's kind of a mess, but I got as many as I could.I did NOT GET RACIAL TRAITS, OR AT LEAST I TRIED TO AVOID THEM.And yeah, those are seriously all the powers. We really didn't manage to pump out too many of these, did we?In any case, I hope this can be of some help.Obs: The ones from the most recent threads are at the top, with the ones nearing the bottom being the earlier ones.
Are we planning on posting the three example characters we were working on into the 1d4chan article? I had updated their biographical descriptions in the 10th thread or so and I'm not sure of the pastebins were updated. I can repost them here and help work on updating the entire character profile if that's something that's desired.

>>36145779Got stats for all of them, but only the Black Knight, who was intended as a challenge of brute force, has his fully story written up. The Green Knight is next; as the test of intellect, Arthur must beat him at Nine Man Morris. The Green Knight is so good at the game that Arthur resorts to drawing his own lines on the board to win. Then comes the Blue Knight, the test of Agility; not sure what I should do for him. Then comes the Red Knight, who tests Arthur's charisma by summoning a court of noble ghosts and seeing how he does. The last is the White Knight. Seeing Arthur with the other 4 knights is proof enough for him; instead of a challenge, he explains that each of the knights are 5th in their own line of masters and apprentices who have been waiting for Arthur's arrival for over a century. Now I'm home, time to get to typing....

>>36147171I've been there since that discussion and I'm ready to put my hand on the fire and say it's Prevent Harm/Avoid HarmPeople get a little too touchy with the literal interpretation of words, and "Withstand" sounds a lot like tanking. It's the same deal with "Dodge", except it's the opposite wordI mean, that's what the reasoning was, right? Guys?
>>36147171I may not carry the weight Nob does in the crunch department, but I seem to remember it being Prevent Harm too, like >>36147215 said. We changed it from dodge because some anons were freaking out that "Dodge" included parrying.
>>36147171I've been calling it Prevent Harm. It's clunky, but it describes exactly what it does.>>36147036Nice. I'll start editing 1d4chan now -- most of it is up there, but you put it in nice, cohesive order.
>>36147215>>36147171On one hand, I see how it could rustle some jimmies. On the other hand, every other skill has a one-word name. Maybe not withstand, but it should be one word.
Well, while you all sort out the info dump that we have just brought, I'm out. I'll try to be on my phone, but my contribution is gonna bel imited from now onstay strong fellas, we are almost there. All that we need is a bunch of powers and we have a system ready to go
Archiving the thread now fellows.
>>36147171>>36147215>>36147276>>36147279How about Persevere?
>>36147215>>36147240>>36147276>>36147279I thought we agreed, that fateful night, to give every Skill a name with only one, single word. If that's not a problem anymore, and since I have no affection to the name Withstand, you can just go ahead and change it.
>>36147306Still the same problem, I guess: it sounds too much like tanking.I mean, we had people freaking out because Occult doesn't give you magic powers, so I think that yes, we should be very careful with our names here.
>>36145477I think he'd get along pretty well with Roarke. Not vice-versa, of course, but Louie'd totally go for the Humanity, Fuck Yeah! vibe Roarke has going on.
>>36147345> we had people freaking out because Occult doesn't give you magic powersYeah, but fuck those guys.
>>36147345Persevere - continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success.(all the synonyms I looked up sucked, so it's still the best idea I've got)
>>36147302Disney Villains Victorious XX has now been archived along with the others on Sup/tg/. Please remember to vote it up, and to feel proud of all the work done and fun had in these threads.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+Victorious+
>>36147306>>36147393I like it.
>>36147036Also: Step forth and be named if you want extra credit in our 'thanks' page. That's some serious fucking work right there.
>>36147417>thanks pageDon't fucking do this.Jesus, just don't. Really.
>>36147417You can just call me ROBUSTNESS! GUY!
>>36147417>thanks page>anonymous imageboard
>>36147426AdEva did it. We're kind of following their design cycle, unless you missed that.
>>36147426>>36147440>>36147453It's an anonymous image board: a thanks page would just be a list of silly names no one is ever going to use again. Just let him do it.
>>36147458This entire project is a collective effort by anonymous neckbeards on the internet.Adding in a 'thanks page' to plaster a bunch of shitty screen names for a second of internet fame is attention whoring at it's prime. I refuse to acknowledge any 'thanks page' you make. The ONLY reason you should be tripping in the first place is so that we can identify chains of work and people who are doing specific, linked work, not so that we can have some names on a page at the end. It's a small issue, but seriously. ANONYMOUS.
>>36147036Now that we have a functional alpha, someone please start making a gameIn this thread alone we have enough cool characters for a damn good party.
>>36147528Those who read the archives will know of our glory. Namefaggotry is only for organizational purposes. We are all anons at heart
Perhaps we can just compromise and include a short and sweet "thank you" to everyone who has participated in general.
>>36147528It's for the best, too many unnamed people contributed, even on one or two small points.I'm only using the name to spearhead the planar stuff n' fluff.
>>36147573Well yeah, this name is gone as soon as actual crunch creation is gone so that people know who this wizard-hating fuck is that keeps shitting up their ideas, but I was just aping AdEva since that's the only other big /tg/ creation project I've seen so far.1d4chan page is nearly up to date.
Just like I said before.I helped make a lot of the shadowlands mechanics and almost the entire hunnic chinaI helped settle the debate between bows and gunsI helped make traits and powersAnd I am looking from atop the hill as the sun goes down, and I knownit was a damn good job and well worth itAs I ride into the sunset, know that none will know my name or face....Because I am AnonymousAnd that shall do for the thanks page, Nob. I have quite a lot of fun with my faggotry
>>36147584I'd agree with a general thank you statement, but no names should be said. I'm pretty sure none here are using internet handles that they use outside of these threads, so a list of names would be pretty pointless.Either a listed person drops the name after the project's done and putting it there is basically pointless, or they keep it and we've created a new tripfag.
>>36147528Yeah, it's probably better this way.Remember Nob: wizards could take away your name, but they will never be able to take away your ROBUSTNESS!Unless they have Ray of Enfeeblement, in which case you're fucked.Sleep tight, Nob.
>>36147658I'm just going to have the entire thing be written and designed by "Anonymous" like 26 times, one for each role. Just for the laugh value.
>>36147567Please pay attention to this post instead of making 20+ posts of agreeing with an already established point. Is ANYONE willing to GM for a /tg/ game?
>>36147665>Sleep tight, Nob.And that's how you deal strikes socially
>>36145334I Vocaroo'd dis, man.http://vocaroo.com/i/s05ORceRc85Z
>>36147658Exactly. No names, just a simple thank you.
Hey guys I am going to be play testing this with my usual D&D group tomorrow. I will report back and tell you guys how it went along with anything that works/doesn't work
>>36147732Online or in person? It'd be nice if we had logs or a recording so we could take a look at exactly where it broke down.I assume it's gonna break down because it's a first test, they all break down.
>>36147567>>36147706>>36147732stop taunting me
>>36147037"Prince you may be, boy, but aboard a ship, the Captain is king."-Every seafaring fantasy ever.
>>36147754In person but I will try to keep some notes
>>36147732I wouldn't mind trying this with my college RPG club sometime.Hell, maybe I could even rough out a character sheet. Does this system share similarities to any other RPG?
>>36147776Let us know if they want to play wizards.
>>36147776We should knock together a little questionnaire. You know, a "Rate X feature from 1-10" for the various parts with a little comments section on the end.
>>36147732Godspeed anon.Good luck surviving the initial train crashHow are you going to play without powers though, just full on "fuck it, it's disney"?
Are we still going to be trying various games with and without the social mechanics that one anon wrote out? I still think they're pretty good despite what Nob says.http://pastebin.com/wTLJWdtT
>>36147828We've got class powers detailed, I'm gonna throw them up on 1d4chan. We're still lacking origin powers.
>>36147828Pretty muchWould anyone be able to compile all the K-L-Rs into one pastebin? The current one is pretty out of date and I can't because I'm posting on my phone at the moment
>>36147846I think someone made some origin powers for the wild west and virginia. Cowboys and injuns, I tjinkLook'em up on that pastebin with all the traits and powers an anon posted up there, I think one is "Shaman"
Could somebody put this on 1d4chan?>>36147036I know it's half there already, but it should be competely uploaded: it's more clear than what we already have.
>>36147846I simply cannot wrap my head around the idea of origin powers. Origin traits, sure, but not powers.
>>36147846I had come up with origin powers for people from Atlantis, Arendelle, Hunnic China and several other locations, but I'm not sure if they were ever noted down in any official document
Guys, page seven approaching. Threadstarter is gone earlyWho's gonna take it?
>>36147929I see what you mean. It's sort of a vague line, but it might be neat to have active abilities granted by one's country of origin rather than only passive traits.
>>36147963I would but I'm not sure how we want to organize the OP given everything that's been updated and finalized.
>>36147985Splat creation starts once we're done here. And we're nearly done. What splat are we going to do first?
>>36147964Yeah, that's what I can't wrap my head around. Nations just should not give active boosts. I can't articulate why they shouldn't, but they shouldn't.
