Welcome to the XI installment of "Disney Villains Victorious."Disney Villains Victorious is a new /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole. It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog. It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+Victorioushttp://1d4chan.org/wiki/Disney_villains_victoriousShould I start including the pastebins in the opener?
>>36084081>Should I start including the pastebins in the opener? You should, yes.
Repeating myself from last threadAre we really having Frollo worship Chernabog? Really?I feel like that's kinda crapping on his character. IN the movie he was incredibly zealous of his faith and even as he was about ot sword Quasimodo he was quoting the bible.I think it's a cheap way out to just say "eh, he swiched sides"I mean, come on, the guy's a Lich. Maybe he IS a lich because of a gypsy curse, and now he employs counter-runes in all of his Inquisition's weapons?
>>36084081You mean XII...
>>36084072I'd imagine that the yellow and green lands constantly shift between the two as the people become more afraid of the fae or the Inquisition.
We're gonna need a pastebin for the pastebins soon. So, someone got the list of beast type and is willing to get crackin'? I'd help, but this paper is due tomorrow at eight. We still need some Powers for classes and nationalities. We need generic traits. We need a working XP systemWe need to come to agreement on equipment. We need to come to an agreement on currencies between the lands.
>>36084130Chernobog, The Dreaded One, He of the Mountain, is pertending to be God and controls Frollo that way.
>>36084081Posting latest official mapNobby, could you put it up on the 1d4chan?
>Should I start including the pastebins in the opener?Probably a good ideaWorking on another piece of writing right now. A bit more narrative than I usually do. A naval battle between three Submarines and a host of sea creatures. It's near to Atlantis, so I might have the big damn lobster I love so much show up. Maybe get into a slugging match with Giant Ursula
>>36084132noticed that too...
>>36084163People have tossed New York to the Atlanteans and I've used that in a bit of writing I did earlier. Mind updating the map for that?
>>36084158Fine, he's bullshitting Frollo. That still doesn't explain why Frollo isn't already being buttstomped by literally anyone around him, unless Chernie boobs is lending him some magic.Which would in turn make him have HELLISH, UNDERWORDLY POWERS and then he should probably conquer a lot more. Would be kinda broken.
>>36084130http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/36070014/#p36074283A writefag did Frollo's Fall
>>36084149I'll whip out a short equipment list for weapons, shields and armors. Not now because it's getting late here, but tomorrow.
From the previous thread:Idea: An animated Ice Anna in Arendelle, being like Olaf in that she is bumbling and goofy, but very much aware that she isn't the real Anna but a golem playing the role of her. Black humor potential abounds:>"How was my performance? Was I convincing?">"There are just so few people around these days who remember what Anna was like, and you knooooooooooooooooooooooow I can't just ask Elsa for pointers on being her sister 'cause then she'll just frump and grump and sulk and drop the temperature another few degrees.">"Ice Queen? More like Draaaaaaaaaaaama Queen!">Fake Anna playing pretend with the frozon corpses of Arendelle, posing them at tables, walking about and partying. Shes also one of the few friends that Olaf has to play with.>"I know that I'm not reeeeeeeeeeeally the Snow Queen's sister, Princess Anna of Arendelle, but I look like her.">"And I'm kiiiiiinda made out of her.">"So that's alllllllllllllllmost as good, and you should proooooooooobably listen to my advice before you try and go in there and confront Elsa."
>>36084163the purple looks blue unless you really focus, maybe a lilac or an eggplant shade instead of flax?
>>36084223>Chernie boobsRequesting r34 now.
>>36084223I'm just saying, I liked the original idea where Frollo was still trying to follow his old beliefs even without any God answering. "If there is nothing to this Earth except for what we make, then let us make good."Except his "good" is incredibly Evil, but he still thinks he is pious and right even as he becomes only moving bones
>>36084163It should be up.Holy shit, is Bald Mountain on the move or something? They've gotten bigger with every edition of the map. At this rate, in 8 maps they'll have all of Asia.
>>36084273It was shifted slightly to the east, to eat up some of the ginormous Hun Holdings that seemed a bit excessive a thread or two ago.
>>36084326Yeah: better give more lands to the GOD OF ALL EVIL than leave them to the forgettable hun.
>>36084360Also a very good point.
What's going on with the pirate kingdom in Japan? how is it different from Hook's Neverneverland and Tortuga?
How's this for a better Europe?I still don't see why Olympus has territory in Southern Italy. Italy should be completely Frollo. Same deal with Iberia. The fae don't belong there. Central and Northern France are ostensibly under Frollo's control but the fae move freely about and the borders are constantly shifting.Pushed Chernobog north-east (since he expanded that way) and gave Zeus more Byzantine territory. Also expanded Queen Grimhilde east.
>>36084409Davy Jones and Hook are trying to take over.
>>36084409It's ruled by Davy Jones and has different goals but an uneasy alliance with Hook. For instance, Jones doesn't care about Wendy but Hook isn't as interested in Beckett.
>>36084446As much as I dislike giving either kind of frog Alsace, it does look better.
>>36084446>Travelling through central France becomes a new challenge as allegiance constantly shift>Proclaim yourself a Catholic and you risk angering those who live in fear of the Inquisitors>Decry the Catholic Church and you may find yourself the victim of an Inquisitor yourself
Is there any drawfags in here? We could use some concept art for all these ideas we're throwing around.
>>36084446Cool as fuck.
>>36084149>We still need some Powers for classes and nationalities.>Alameda Slim's Old West:>Ride 'Em Cowboy!- A Cowboy or Cowgirl from the Old West can ride any bronco out there under the sun! Even if it isn't a bronco, or even alive at all. Horse, giant jaguar, skeletal fish, it doesn't matter, your character can ride it.
>>36084081Would Descendents fit into this?
>>36084492Are gay cats canon?
>>36084446I say give Hades Turkey. It's where Troy was.
>>36084514Malificent's daughter? Cruella's son? Grimhilde's daughter? And... Jafar's mexican son?
>>36084514CHERNOBOG NO!>>36084546Yeah, that also makes sense.
>>36084149I'll try whipping up some traits>Smooth TalkerYou have a way to keep your and words on just the right place.+2 to Diplomacy rolls>Intimidating SpecimenEvery Last Inch of Your Body Is Covered With Hair, and your body language is naturally shifted to look just that bit more aggressive+3 to Intimidate-1 To Diplomacy>Biceps to SpareYou must have eaten four dozen eggs daily as a lad, because woah!+2 to any Robustness rollWhat ya'll think? NooooooooooneGives trait ideas like Gaston!
>>36084565>Jafar's mexican son?I lol'd
>>36084585Well I'm sorry but that kid is not Arabian. He's Hispanic as fuck. Possibly Native American.
>>36084568Try to avoid giving bonuses to attributes if possible. Could change Biceps to Spare to be a bonus to both Endurance and Athletics, or something.
>>36084512>Lucky Strike- Cowboys and Cowgirls riding in Alameda Slim's crew are some of the luckiest varmints in tarnation, and will sometimes just stumble into caches of arms, coin and resources.>Yodel-ay-hee-hoo!- If you know Slim, you're going to be familiar with yodeling, and may even have an impressive set of pipes yourself. Cowboys and Cowgirls who know how to yodel can do so to dislodge obstacles and bring them crashing down on their enemies' heads.
>>36084568Problem is, they are not really Traits: you're just putting more points in Attributes and Skills.Traits should give something more in exchange for specialization: +2 to Melee rolls when using a Sword, +3 to Persuasion rolls when showing off your muscles to shallow people., stuff like that.
>>36084273>is Bald Mountain on the move or something?Meanwhile, in China...>Shan Yu is looking at the most recent territory map>Sees his border is shrinking>Gets pissed and demands a search party of his finest warriors search the western mountains for bandits taking his land>They come back a gibbering, crying mess>At least, the half that came back alive>Only one of them could remember the name of who (or what) did this to them, but he bites his tongue off and dies>To this day, The Huns refuse to talk about the Night on Bald Mountain.
>>36084081So, what of the Villains minions?I have some ideas>Ursula: Float and Jetsam are now huge fucking eels terrorizing the EITC, and her sister keeps an eye on the spirits of the north and Elsa>Jafar: Jafar has appointed Iago as lord of public announcements, and has most of the Aladin tv show villains as goveners and petty princes. Rourke: most of the original members of the expedition now serve as Ministers in the Alantean empire, such as minister of health and minister of excavations >Yzma: Kronk gets suped on potions and becomes Yzma's taskmaster. Still a cool dude. >Elsa: not really minions, but more of by products. Olaf, Marshmallow and other variety of snow Golems are definitely confirmed to roam the wastes. Ice Anna is also rather well liked, so I'll add her in.>Facillier: Shadow friends still lurk the cities abd bayou. Suggestions of madame medusa being one of his minions is a good idea in my opinion
>>36084645>>At least, the half that came back aliveAnd not half the total number of soldiers who came back alive. The half of each individual soldier that came back alive... ish...
>>36084629Huh. Okay, I'll see if I can come up with something better
>>36084671>minister of excavations
>>36084731The official title is "Minister of Geographical Keeping" but that still doesn't sound much betterAll he does is dig, anyway
>>36084671>minister of excavationsWould these excavations happen to involve... explosives?Anyway, every good villain has a handful of minions -- we should give some examples, but leave one or two slots open for a GM to insert their own. I'll come up with a few in a bit.
How the fuck does pastebin work? Do I just share the URL of a paste that I made and then everyone who cares enough to help can come and just paste shit in it? I am the guy who said I could spearhead work on the statting of the Beasts.
>>36084750He doesn't just dig. he translates too; really its the best thing for him. Poor boy still hasn't gotten over the Princess, you know. At least he's happy enough when he's got his nose to that book of his translating some more ruins.
>>36084750>Minister of Mole Holes
>>36084753>>36084777>>36084778That's pretty great. Three different anons, three different ideas on who the Minister of Excavations is. I think >>36084750 was probably suggesting Mole, myself.
>>36084770Throw up the paste, and people will take a look. People can make a new version of the paste or they can make their own afterwards and share the link to that one. if you have a pastebin account it'll let us see all of the previous versions of the paste as well.I try to avoid it though, because that's drawing more attention than needed and I'm drawing enough already.>>36084777That reminds me: What happens to Milo? Does he die trying to stop Roarke?
>>36084521Well, they apparently engaged in a smug-off and became bros via that.
>>36084521Oh god the fucking flashbacks
>>36084852The way I imagined it, the rest of the Atlantis crew had their misgivings about taking the Heart but didn't say anything, so without somebody to raise his Spirits Milo sort of just let it happen.Rourke and crew went to the surface, realized shit had gone absolutely insane while they were sailing the seas/under the seas/in Atlantis and it was at that point that he formed his Imperial president idea.In my head at least Milo's still around and translating ancient Atlantean, probably helped teach writing to the locals even, but he never really got over what happened to Kida and he alternates between being depressed about it and trying to work up the nerve to confront Rourke.
>>36084149>We still need some Powers for classes and nationalities.>We need generic traits.Well, there's the new traits and powers I came up with for the Knights of the Round Table two threads ago, so throw these into the pastebin:Powers:- What Does Your Heart Tell You?: Can spend a heart point to remove strikes from illusions, persuasion and deceit on others. (Sensible)- Lend me Your Ears: May treat armies as ‘the party’ for the purpose of music and speeches if he spends a heart point. (Charismatic)- I Am Not Left-Handed!: He may opt to take a penalty to his melee and prevent harm for the first 3 rounds of combat. Whatever penalty he decided to take, he gains it as a bonus for the rest of the combat scene. (Nimble)- Eureka!: May spend a heart point to immediately learn an important piece of information. (Smart)- It’s Just A Flesh Wound!: Can spend a heart point to remove two strikes. (Strong)Traits:- Tin Ear: Immune to all aspects of music.- No Luck For The Tough: Is constantly besot by slapstick misfortune, but has a +5 to Endurance. Because of the increased Endurance, the slapstick cannot harm him, though it will inconvenience him in other ways.- Master of Nine Men Morris: Gains +4 bonus to any strategy game, and a +2 bonus to any actual battle strategies.- Superior Speed: +2 to attack and defend against anyone with an Agility lower than yours in physical combat.- Evasive: +3 to defenses against area attacks, such as raining arrows.- Etiquette: Gains a +3 to social situations among the nobility.- Refined: +3 to Academics related to art and culture. - But It Is Not This Day!: Can make speeches to render the party immune to fear. You could probably substitute any local strategy game for Nine Men Morris, and the rest are nation-neutral.
>>36084901Scar is with Zira but maybe he holds a candle for the handsome tiger in the next kingdom over?He wouldn't be the only implicitly gay villain (cough rattigan cough)
>>36084943Now these are very good Traits and Powers!
>>36084852I think that Milo should probably survive, along with the other members of the original Atlantis Expedition. Given the state of this villainous world at the time of the expedition, and the fact that Rourke wasn't crystal-crazy, and that he kept Kidagakrystal in Atlantis, I think that it's feasible that Milo stuck around to keep an eye on things.
>>36084852I think it would be a better idea if Rourke roped Milo into helping the expedition.>"Look milo. Your not getting her back. And thats not my choice or yours. We either use her to save whats left or we save her and doom everything. All these people, all our people. This more than about money milo. This is about survival. Now I'll tell you what choice you do have. You can either let kida die in vain...or, you can save not just yourself, but her people as well."
>>36084943Damn, those are all pretty good. You are the awesome Anon who did the knights, aren't you?
>>36085006>>36085018I still think that Kida ought to be conscious as the Heart of Atlantis and be working, in subtle but real ways, to improve the lives of her people and the state of the world.
>>36085096Oh, she is, it's just that nobody's really aware of that
>>36084446I'll fix up France and Spain to be like this, maybe make northern Spain a bit more contested between frollo and maleficientAs to the changes to Hades' realm. I'm going to keep Southern Italy in Olympia, because it historically was pretty Greek, and was part of the Byzantine empire. As for turkey, the greeks tended to stick around the coastline and it was more asiatic in the interior, which is why the division is the way it is
>>36085116Oh, and also for chimbobug's territory, The greeks never really had much of a presence north of the danube, so the northern border is gonna stay as it is.
>>36085064Yep. Methinks that a good strategy for coming up with Powers is going to be asking ourselves: "What's a really cool thing to spend a heart/will/whatever point on?"
>>36084546Hades has Ilium, it's on the north west coast of turkey
>>36085116The Byzantine Empire existed long after Ancient Greece which is where Hades as a deity originates. Their Empire extended into Persia far more than it did Italy.Personally, I think Italy should be completely under the Pope's control and that Hellenic Greece should push far more east than it currently does. The timeline is very fuzzy, I'll grant you. But citing the Byzantine Empire isn't really relevant to the Greek Gods.
I did the thing something like 8 threads ago, now it's time to help again.>>36084149>XP systemI'd say we keep the three tiers that were suggested before: Zero, On-a-roll and Hero.In order to gain XP, three conditions must be met:-The character has followed all his Ideals (do we still have those?).-The character must have experienced a defeat of some sort: it doesn't need to be a life-threatening one, but it should be something that sets back his plans at the very least.-The character must have overcome whatever defeated him before. This xp points can be spent on on improving a character's skills and attributes and whatnot: how much does it cost we'll decide later. So what do you think?
>>36084271This a best.As for why he isn't stomped flat, its because he's a good buffer nation and no one wants to infringe on him as they'd take it as threatening against themselves.
Okay, here's the official map, based off of the changes made by anon, >>36084446Changes:>France and North Spain now contested between Maleficent and Bone-Pope>Bone-Pope expands into central Italy>Hades expands into Pannonia
>>36085293>Filthy northerners in Megala HellasEpirus Stronk
>>36084671>"HEY SULTAN JAFAR! I KNOW THIS GREAT JOKE!">"ugh... yes, Iago?">"OKAY HERE IT GOES. A TALENT AGENT..."
>>36085397What happens if Zazu and Iago meet?
>>36085348because I'm a bit autistic, I noticed you didn't change all the shinto lands' color, so I fixed it
>>36084130>The Sorcerous-Sultanate of Agrabah>Bazaar Bargainer:- Even under the rule of the Sorcerer-Sultan Jafar, Agrabah is famous throughout the world for its bazaars. As an Agrabanian, you find yourself completely at home in any shop or marketplace, and never have any trouble finding what you need for a great price.>Street Rat:- Any citizen of Agrabah is by necessity very familiar with their town or city's local criminal element, and instinctively knows how to strike up a rapport with thieves, thugs and vandals, or at least make them hesitate.>Desert Dweller- As a Dweller of the Desert, an Agrabanian knows how to survive in the vast, sandy wastes between oasis, knowing how to make any supplies and especially water last. Some are kind of plain I know, and not crunchy at all, but I thought I'd throw them up.
>>36085348Nice. The Pope should have more control over Iberia though. Malifecent and her realm have no place in Spain. At the very least, it should be more yellow than green.
>>36085485Are you going to try and tell the guys who'll set your liver alive with magical fire because you didn't address them by some bizarre honorific that they can't go into Spain?
>>36085483>mfw Southern Spain is a desertSee that's the problem with vast realms like the Sultanate and the Hunnate. They cover such a vast geography, it's really hard to define them in any meaningful way.
Let me try thisNimble Guy Power:One Jump Ahead: Can spend one Heart point to dodge for sure the next four hits if there is more than one foe targetting youSmart Guy Power:Elementary, My Dear: Can spend one Heart Point in order to solve a problem, mystery, puzzle or find secondary and secret passagesI was also thinking about a Strong Guy power that was essentially to spend a heart point to attack three times, but these all sound....Boring.I think I'm just bad at crunchcapitcha: hatvkv debauchery
>>36085510I'm not saying they 'can't' go to Spain. I'm saying they'd be much happier in Central France and that Spain would be much happier embracing the Pope.I love the historical fun of having Frollo's Catholic Spain facing the very real threat of Islamic expansion northwards. The Fae muddy that parallel for no real reason.

A thought on the Wild West; the reason it hasn't been swallowed by the Shadowlands or Tzekel-Kan is more than just the fact that literally everyone has at least two revolvers or Alameda Slim and his gang. The land itself is inimical to organized authority; armies sent there disintegrate due to desertion, and debts gradually vanish from Shadowlanders' skin (except, of course, for the one holding their soul). >>36086057The alternative was leaving it totally blank. >>36086255Hey, we implemented some stuff from the Chronicles of Prydain into the Horned King. We could do something similar with El Dorado. Just a suggestion.
>>36086235The rich lands of the Amazon are, surprisingly, one of the freest places in the world. Nominally ruled by The Sunless Empire, there are few rules enforced outside of a hefty tax and toll system. Travelling through the region is expensive but as long as you can pay, you are free to carry on with your day to day life. In theory, those taxes are supposed to pay for protection should another ruler set their sites on these fertile lands. Whether or not Yzma would honour this is yet to be tested but it certainly won't be long before an enterprising character pushes their luck and encroaches on the Amazon. Already, rumours have emerged of the Elite Global Huntsman Club moving further inland from their satellite states along the shores of South America. To the North, Captain Hook's pirates look to expand their continental foothold and to the South, Ursula dominates the shoreline and seeks to consolidate her power. The natives continue to pay their taxes, desperately hoping that they won't become the epicentre of the latest conflict to plague the known world.

Should we just ignore Huge animals like T-rexes for now, and tiny ones like insects and birds? Do we have an idea of what we're going to do with equipment?
>>36086045>>36086057The Refuge of the Fairest is exactly that: a gigantic, nation-wide refugee camp. Humans, talking animals, minor spirits that couldn't or refused to survive the Spirit Lands and fairies of various kinds are stashed in tents and huts, in hidden mangroves and secluded caves. The fairest are tragically lacking in manpower. Maybe 5% of the refugees aiming to reach this last bastion of purity actually manage to get there, and those who do must manage to scrap out a living without offending their fairy patronesses. Most fairies are not comfortable with the idea of abundant deforestation or hunt, so the mortals of this land are forced to survive as hunter-gatherers, because the fairies' power is the only thing keeping them safe from the Yzma's wrath.
>>36086369El Dorado wasn't originally a place, it was a king of the Muisca people. Over time, the name came to refer to his kingdom instead. He was said to cover himself in gold dust and chuck himself into Guatavita Lake whilst his attendants threw in trinkets. They've found a fair bit of stuff in that lake, and there have been several attempts, by the Spanish and various other colonial empires to drain it, each of which turned up fair amounts of treasure.
>>36086356I really like how every villain is at every other villain's throat constantly. It makes for a world that is utterly hostile to heroes like the PCs, and yet no one is willing to focus their full attention onto them since they're too busy with bigger problems.I believe the key to winning a campaign with the least resistance is to skillfully play one against the other, exploiting their well-known personality flaws and vices in order to bring them down.
>>36086356I used a lighter colour to mark the regions that Yzma controls but doesn't really care about. Everybody else got to grab a bit more land to put them in a better position to consider pushing their luck. Yzma would probably stamp on Hook or the Hunter's but may let Ursula take a few liberties rather than risk a war with the very Oceans themselves.
>>36084163What happened to Madam Mim?Ratigan?>anime
>>36086495Madam Mim is a subordinate of the Horned King who's fucking around in his lands.Ratigan rules an under-empire of rats. He doesn't show up on the map.
>>36086447I get the fluff but it just strikes me as really pointless in this setting. It's such an obvious 'we ran out of stuff' stopgap. If it's as disparate as you say, then why wouldn't an enterprising villain just march in and take it? It's huge, fertile and ripe for the taking.I'd rather there was no safe haven in the world. Everywhere is hostile in its own way.I like this idea>>36086356Because it means that even though the area is relatively safe compared to other nations, you're going to have to pay a shit tonne of money to get around or risk drawing attention to yourself. Yzma may not care about encroaching enemies but she'll be damned if anyone's going to dodge the tolls.
>>36086356What's the Blue Fairy's angle in all this? She is there, right? What's her plan, what is she doing, who else is there?
>>36086640If she's still around, she should be a prisoner of Malificent, not running around free as you like.Perhaps there are refugees in South America but they're driven to poverty by Yzma's taxation systems and are in no position to rally against any of the villains.
>>36086546Well, just because the faeries are refugees it doesn't mean you want to get on their bad side.Maleficent is a Fairy, the Blue Fairy has a lot of power, etc. And hey, a single Pixie can make a whole ship fly, if we go by TinkerbellThe faeries can hold their territory enough that it's not worth it for most people to dedicate enough power to take it over
>>36086683Maleficent is almost certainly the most powerful fairy in the world.
>>36086663If that's the case, we need to correct the map to reflect that. And this also means that Yzma has theoretical control of almost all of South America, which is sort of nuts.
>>36086403Really good, I like it! It presents both Ursula and The Atlanteans as serious rivals with their own strengths and differences, and is pretty well written besides! Well done!
>>36086703Well, Yzma is sort of nuts herself, but I see what you mean. I also feel sort of nuts in thinking that the PCs might find her more amenible to becoming allies.
>>36086432I am working on a pastebin for the statting of the different-sized beasts. we are operating on a 1d6 system, correct?
>>36086703Yeah but she's also one of the more insular villains. She's an egomaniac who spends her time and money establishing vast monuments to honour her and developing her native infrastructure. She's actually one of the most benign rulers left.Oh sure, if needs be, she can muster a zealous army that have been turned into various animal forms* but for the most part she's content to sit in her temple and admire the jewels and gold she has acquired.Besides, everything east of her established empire is only technically hers. If push came to shove, it's likely that they could be incited to rebel. They're already chafing under her taxes and it's only fear of other more malicious rulers that keeps the people docile. It's an unstable empire that could collapse at any moment. And if that's not enough excuses, hand over more land to Ursula/the Hunters.*Yzma's potions are gonna be a great way to let human players enjoy Beast mechanics for an adventure in the Pridelands or India. They should be very rare items but potentially obtainable if the GM requires it.
>>360867913d6.Average stat for a human is 7, maximum is 12, minimum 4. Minimum for a hero is 6.
>>36086811Thanks. I will work out bonuses and penalties hopefully accordingly, just note, I am normally not a crunch guy.
Everytime I see that map, I can't help but wonder what an EUIV mod would look like...
>>36086778Meta-knowledge will be incredibly hard to avoid in a setting like this since fucking everyone has seen the most popular Disney movies.Remember, the majority of these villains lie just as easily as they tell the truth, and given the power they hold, you better believe they as the victors will write history as they see fit. Nearly everyone living on this world would have been exposed to this propaganda, even in the midst of the oppression taking place everywhere.
So...any possible chance of getting this guy involved in russia. possibly to cut back on the huns mass amount of territory? figured since we have el dorado might as well see how people feel about this dude.
>>36086922Bluth is for the expansion pack. Keep it Disney. El Dorado is the only exception because we needed to fill the map.
>>36086922Rasputin is a priest of Chernobog.Related:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdkBs0VCSX0
What Papal Name does Frollo go by? I'm thinking he'd be ballsy enough to take the name Peter making him Pope Pierre II.Or to give him his full title:His Holiness Pierre II, Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Primate of Italy, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman Province, Sovereign of the Vatican City State, Servant of the servants of God.
>>36086922In the Bad Bluth expansion.
>>36086960PONTIFEX IMMORTALIS FROLLO HAS ONLY ONE TITLE, INFIDEL
>>36086778>>36086800Like I said back in the fourth thread, I really like this personification of Yzma. Her rule is very much the rule of a cartoon supervillain rather than a real Noble Dark Villain like most of the rest in this setting, and the PC's dealings with her are bound to be comic: she's sneaky and funny and wacky and you can reason with her and try to trick her, but she's a trickster that you can't trust for anything. Playing along with her schemes in the short term can have long term benefits and potentially gain her as an ally, but it all depends on how much of the old crone you can stand. Also, I like the idea of Yzma as a consummate mad scientist who has lived for centuries and who's subjects, by now, are crazy chimeric hybrids, statuesque golems and failed experiments.
>>36086960PONTIFEX IMMORTALIS! IN NOMINE DEI!
>>36086989That's not an official Papal title.
>>36087018IT IS NOW, HEATHEN DOG! I BET YOU WORSHIP THE HORNED PRETENDER OR THE DEMON QUEEN!

>>36086778>>36086703>>36086663I've fixed up the map to reflect these, based off of Anon's >>36086478 design.
>>36087002Hmm, Yzma's real ambition was to snuff out the sun. Obviously, she rules the Sunless Empire but what does that mean? Magically induced Night Time across her lands? Because that would provide a neat explanation as to why she doesn't expand.
>>36087138I meant Maleficent, not Grimhilde.
>>36087191That's who I was talking about.
>>36087188Yeah, probably: Eternal Night all across her lands. The magic she's using to do that only works in South America, which explains why she's never going to expand more than this.
>>36087166>Changed Name of Yzma's tributaries' color
>>36087166Very nice. This has been a lot of work, and I appreciate all that's gone into it this far.
>>36087262>actually posted map
>>36087188Was it really? I watched the Emperor's New Groove the other day because of these threads. Was it in the sequel, or did I miss something? I'm not contesting it! Just curious.
>>36087264Thanks! I love Disney and Maps, so I've been thoroghly enjoying this all the while Except for filling in the tiny islands in the east indies.
>>36087301It's in her villain song (which I just watched). It was cut from the film but it's rather good.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=374xW4zZbZAAlso this supercut of her trips to the secret lab is pretty great. They get a lot of mileage from this in the tv show.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mws7gNM0Hpk

>>36087335Man, I love Patrick Warburtin's voice.
>>36087406Yeah, it's actually a really great film. The cast is good, the writing is solid and its got a really neat style. It feels a bit underrated but its a top tier Disney imo.
>>36087335>Dat monty python reference
>>36087350what did you change this time?
>>36087335Now that really is interesting! It adds a great deal to boost her power levels and ambition, and also shows just how loony the old bat really is. This scheme just screams cartoon supevillain.I can imagine that by this point, her subjects, both human and chimera are so jaded and used to her insanity that none of her schemes, plans, plots or pet projects have any power to shock or surprise them any more.
>>36087350I think Maleficent should have more land. Bitch is pretty powerful yet she looks like a bunch of pimples on Frollo's face.
>>36087562>Every time Yzma comes up with a new plan, a collective sigh can be heard over South America.
>>36087585What if we unify their kingdoms? Let's just say they rule together as Pope and Queen of Evil.
>>36087585Maleficent doesn't so much have land as she does have people she terrifies. Her territory overlaps almost entirely with Frollo's and even Grimhilde's, but 'rulership' pretty much relies on whether the people fear the Inquisition or the fey more
>>36087585That patchwork effect is supposed to represent the shifting alliances of the French and Spanish. Ostensibly they are part of Frollo's Catholic realm. However, Catholics don't get on with the Fae and the Fae are running rampant across the region. Any given individual is likely to claim to worship the Fae one second and the Pope the next. It all depends on who asks them and who's around when they're asked.Hence the realm is very ambiguously defined. Malificent rules much of it but isn't interested in fighting Frollo for it. Frollo claims to rule all of it but isn't willing to acknowledge Malificent's presence in his realm (there are Muslims to crusade against after all).
>>36087535Oh, I just switched the color name of Yzma's tributaries, nothing important
>>36087657Do the Fey care about being worshipped? I thought they just did whatever they felt like without regard to what the people living there thought. And occasionally hunted them for sport.
>>36087335>All those Secret Lab clipsYzma has undermined her entire empire with a Incan fantasy Aperture Science.

>>36087335Holy fuck, I forgot how funny she was! We should give this woman more land!
>>36087738No, they don't care at all. But they dislike the Catholics because the Catholics dislike them. People could claim to be pretty much anything as long as it ain't Catholic, they just tend to say Malificent rather than, say, Jafar.
>>36087820Of course, there's always the chance they'll turn your eyeballs to molten iron for sycophancy.
>>36087787she has 75% of a continent, most of which she doesn't really control. I think she's good.
>>36087855>Fey>Making ironSomeone failed his Occult roll here.
>>36087738It's less about being worshipped, and more about the tribute and sacrifices. The fae like having stuff, like someone's firstborn child, their voice, their joy. They take it from them, or else they'll punish the "selfish" mortal in various nasty supernatural ways. Or they'll punish them for fun. Who knows?
I thought we still needed traits and powers?
>>36087820>>36087855I'd imagine that people would worship Maleficent anyway whether or not she cares or treats her worshippers any better out of sheer desperation and ignorance.
>>36087855Better that than the forcing you to consume your own flesh in a bastardised communion.
>>36087912Yes, but we can't resist the siren call of lore and fluff.
>>36087855Which is why Hans is content to stay in Grimhilda's realm, serving and kissing ass

>>36084081>Mfw Alameda Slim is able to hold off Facillier, the fire bird, Judge Doom, Alantis, Ursula, Angry spirits and the Evil Golem army of the Aztecs This fucker is the best example of why a class or character based on singing is a good idea. http://youtu.be/GdZcsrtiUacYa don't fuck with a yodeller
>>36087943And funding expeditions into the semi-Frozen Southern Isles and Westelton. And if you really tick him off he'll handpick you to his 'special' unit that goes to take down the Frozen Queen herself.Funny how no one's ever heard back from those teams.
>>36087981Personally, I think Judge Doom and Alameda Slim would be working together, or at least be in good relations: they seems like they have very similar goals and way of thinking.
>>36087657If i wanted to make a Crusader character who questions the validity of the Catholic Church under Frollo, would that be appropriate to this kind of setting? I know it's way darker, but come on. It's still Disney.I'd feel more comfortable making a plucky and dashing 16-year-old who is trying to achieve his dreams along with his comedy relief sidekick.
>>36086922Anastasia and Prince of Egypt are brought up all the time. 4chan being 4chan it's impossible to tell how people really feel about them being included, ie whether they keep being brought up by the same guy a million times and shot down by the majority, or brought up by a variety of different anons and simply shut down by the same guy.Eldorado creates a pretty glaring impurity in the setting, as (for that matter) do the various live action properties introduced.IMO, the "core" setting should be limited to Europe, the Mid East, Asia as far west as India, and North Africa. Anything in the New World should be considered supplemental.
>>36088055Yes! Perfect fit! I think we've had that sample character a few times.
>>36088055Sounds pretty valid to me. One of the example characters was an old preacher who questions the Validity of the Catholic Church under Frollo and hides Gypsies so they don't get burned at the stake
>>36088066>the shadowlands>atlantis>doomtown>pirates of the Caribbean>sunless empireAnon, what?
>>36088055Half of the point of the setting is that Evil has Won...but the heroes are returning, either the actual heroes, or new ones entirely. Personally, I prefer the latter, but it's meant to be up to the DM.
>>36087981Okay, who wins in a hypnotizing contest, Slim vs Kaa?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1ILPl5FQaM
>>36088066Honestly, that doesn't really make all that much sense though. Why should we exclude the americas from the 'core' when they are already a fairly well discussed and thought out area?
>>36088103Kaa needs eye contact. Unless he Jumps slim he'll lose, as Alameda only needs to be within earshot
>>36088066You monster: you would take away Izmopolis from us!
I think 'Grimbright' is the best description for this setting, if you want to use those terms.Things are very very bad right now...but there's hope, and the heroes can win...maybe.
>>36088103Kaa's powers only work on small boys. He's the /tv/ of our villains.
>>36088137No, he also hypnotised Bagheera.>>36088124Pity he isn't like a proper snake and deaf.
>>36088133It's more nobledark than grimbright. The world is bad and grim at the moment, but the heroes are here and in the end with enough persistence they will win.
>>36088124I also think that's how Slim and his gang are keeping the Golden Empire back.Their yodeling skills can hypnotize the giant constructs. It doesn't work back in the Golden Lands, as the blood magic is more powerful, but on the plains, that melody is what holds sway.
>>36088103These days Kaa has whole chunks of the jungles under his hypnotic control, right? Provided the fight's taking place there, Kaa's already won. Otherwise it depends on just how quickly he can add a new area to his control
>>36088137>He's the /tv/ of our villains.Truly the most evil scum around.
>>36088103Either of them hypnotizing the other would be a very bad idea.>Slim can now affect humans by proxy>Kaa's influence expands even furtherDid that Kaa and Louis trading humans idea from last thread go anywere?
>>36087981My god...Alameda Slim has found out the secret to how Disney Princesses can control animals through song. This kind of power was never meant to be in the hands of evil! No fucking wonder he's been able to maintain his holdings!
>>36088156They could win: happy endings are not sure things anymore.>>36088185But Alameda can bring thousands of animals under his control with just one song.
>>36088156Ah, okay. I guess it could change depending on what type of campaign the PCs play.Anyway, have we talked about experience points? Because I've got some ideas.
>>36088185I like to think that the reason kaa is so powerful now, is that he just grows with everything he eats now. And hes eaten. A lot.Imagine the Basislisk from Harry potter. Now bigger, and hypnoytic,Thats kaa
>>36088242His gaze doesn't kill, not directly. He just tells you to DIE, and you do.Fuck me, Alameda Slim's Jesse Custer.
>>36088208Forget Chernobog. How can any hero stand against someone who can turn the powers of good against them?
>>36088208Thats some Snow white levels of animal control
>>36088066I've brought it up once or twice... The idea of him being a servant of capital-E Evil is just too good to pass up.Also, Anastasia was one of my favorite movies as a kid.
>>36088208Alright. That's MECO. Houston, My Sides are on track for a routine orbital insertion.
>>36088185Plus he has Christopher Robin churning out animals for him to eat on demand. Being able to supply the Beast-Kings around him with easy food is probably how he keeps them from invading.
>>36088219Let's hear them, we don't really have anythign concerning Xp
>>36088219I think we should go with point buy, not levels:>Every time you fulfill one of your Ideals in a meaningful way, take a meaningful step towards one of your Goals or just get out of a dangerous situation, you get 1 XP.>You can expend XPs to raise Attributes and Skills or to buy Traits.>After a certain ammount of XPs you get a new Class Power for free.
>>36088208>Yfw he hypnotizes the Fire bird
>>36088087You've added two (three?) live action films and an out-of-company property to fill in the landmass, and in doing so you're undermined the whole exercise.I'd just as soon trash the Americas entirely than corrupt the whole project with half-measures and handwavery.
>>36088301Maybe PCs should earn xp based on how significant their actions were after the completion of an adventure. It's always up to DM decision, but this prevents the game from being all about combat.>>36088308Don't even joke about that shit, anon. Don't even.
>>36088263As was said before, Rasputin would be a lovely fit into Villains Victorious, but we want to get the core setting and crunch down first. So all the space stuff, all the Dreamworks, all the Don Bluth stuff, that gets put on the back burner. We call it 'saving them for the splat books.'Once we get things stable, THEN we can have the mad monk zombie that stalks the dark of Russian nights. So please, by all means, work on your idea, but save them. Thank you.

>>36088347So are we going to eventually compile all this into an easy pdf?>>36088372I actually agree with this anon. Determining which characters are affected by The Dip and which are not is going to be Hell.Screw WFRR. I'm sorry, but it cannot work.
>>36087657Wouldn't that make more sence? This way it doesn't look like bunch of weird enclaves.
>>36088373>In order to gain XP, three conditions must be met:I don't agree with this: a character should be able to grow even if he failed to uphold his Ideals and even if he didn't get defeated. Why would we want people to grow only if they failed along the way?
>>36088360I like them fine, but they don't fit in the setting. Why not use Zorro to fill in Mexico if you want to use Disney live action properties? At least that way you'd remove one inconsistency and keep the whole core in-company.
>>36088435I like it. It makes the point a lot better than the speckling.
>>36087981Is it me, or are those three blond mooks really interested in Alamada's ass?
>>36088306That was my idea. You get points for completing tasks, fulfilling ideals, etc. I don't like the name 'points' but I can't think of anything better...maybe Hope?Say you want to improve your Science, so you can use Atlantean Tech better. It's at rank 2. When your Hope reaches 20, you can make it Rank 3. With 30 Hope you can make it rank 4, and so on.Completing a goal, or 'Embodying' your ideal, could get you a Wish. A wish can boost one of your Attributes by 1. You can use Hope, but it's 100 Points X Current Level, to move it up.You can also use Wishes to change the tide. (Re-rolls, have calvary arrive, miraculous escapes, etc. Same deal as Fate Points or Edge or Karma)Sound good?
>>36088372Thirded.WFRR includes so many animated characters that to accept it as canon in our verse means they all exist as well. I mean, fucking Bugs Bunny is running around our world now.
>>36088435I think there should fewer, thicker, and greener stripes. Right now it comes out more of a yellow-green, there needs to be more contrast. A darker green, perhaps?
>>36088486They're is nephews.
>>36088486Holy shit, I was literally just thinking the same thing! They keep getting back to his ass!
>>36088435Much better. Maybe give the Fey some dedicated lands towards the north where Frollo's influence isn't felt.
>>36088468Isn't it a Disney trope that in order to succeed, you have to go through hard times first?Of course, if the majority feels that it doesn't work in the contest of a RPG, we should drop it.
>>36088372Sadly, I think I'm also voting to drop WFRR as a Territory.Judge Doom can be a hanging judge in one of the towns of the Old West though. Of course, MOST judges in the Old West are Hanging Judges.
>>36088515Do you think that makes it better?
>>36088479>pirates of the Caribbean>not fitting in the settingLook, I know this is a /tg/ creation project, but perhaps you should look up the fucking basics of this universe before you decide to go cutting out factions.
>>36088547You're referring to the Hero's Journey. That really can only happen once.
>>36088515Is that supposed to make it better? Because it really doesn't.
>>36088547The setting is dark enough to make the heroes fail again and again, so we don't really need to reward the players for failing. The opposite, actually: we should reward them when they manage to play it smart and get a victory out of this cruel, cruel world.
>>36088486>>36088515>>36088525>>36088571>Not wanting a piece of Alabama's ample backside.Worst taste.

>>36088670. . . do you think his ass is part of the Hero's Journey?
>>36088611This. Even just stopping something villainous without making a significant gain the the war for good would reward XP.
Okay, so let me see if I can churn out some traits. It's not much, but I am just not too good at this. Never played tabletop before for the lack of a group.
>>36088683lurker here, are the players supposed to be heroes/fallen heroes, or villains? or anything?
>>36088706You mean it's not?
>>36088714New, up and coming heros.
>>36088714I imagine the could be either really.
>>36088499So, let's say that Mahrikatoka, our Atlantean engineer has just finished that fight with the Shadowland Raiders. She'll get 5 hope for surviving. And 1 hope for every Debtor she took out, which is 3. She'll also get 5 hope for having the clever idea of using the floodlights in the mining camp as weapons. That puts her at 13 hope. She uses 10 hope to turn her Ranged from 1 to 2, so she's a better shot. However, during the fight, she climbed up one of the broken floodlight towers and fixed it mid-battle. This fulfilled her ideal of 'Fix Things' in the best way, so the GM gives Mahrikatoka a Wish. She decides not to spend it on her attributes, but keep it. Just in case she ends up in a shadowy place again, and needs to discover that she 'forgot' that she had her flashlight in her coveralls the entire time.
>>36088711Here, these are very good Traits: a nice bonus in specific situations.Honestly, we should measure every future Trait based on these.
>>36088714Playable villains should probably be an expansion. They'd have all manner of unique mechanics to represent their new found power.
>>36088711>one jumpI like it. >>36088714It's generally assumed that the players are new heroes who find themselves in a world where they've already lost. It's going to take a lot of effort and maybe even some sacrifice to win some significant victories against this enormous tide of evil. And when they do... they better watch out because if they manage to attract too much attention to themselves, the villains might just postpone their political conflicts just to take you out.On a related note: is The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Disney, or Bluth?
>>36088308>Alemeda gathers his Rough Riders and rides to the Charred Lands>After days of climbing Mt Saint Helen's, they finally reach the crater>They throw in a bundle of dynamite and crack open the crust>Lava oozes out and the firebird bursts from its cage>The rough riders cower in fear, but Slim simply cracks a smile and takes up his guitar>He begins to yodel
>>36088711I like em. A bit specific but still good. How many traits would a character get? (sorry if noob question)
>>36088683Have we established which nations characters can come from, or is everything bar Bald Mountain free game?
>>36088755We have the basic idea down, but this is getting too much detailed: I think we should stick withYou get one Lesson (let's call them Lessons) every time you fulfill one of your Ideals in a meaningful way, take a meaningful step towards one of your Goals or just get out of a dangerous situation.
>>36088785Disney...I would say that the Headless Horseman is a specter that hunts during the dark nights in Virginia. It doesn't have any goals, or such. Dealing with him/it could be a good adventure hook.
>>36088820Even bald mountain is available, but the people from there are rarely heroic material as much as husks of people or Kriegers.
>>36088820The PCs should ideally come from around the same place, or at least have some way to justify how they're all in the same place. Global travel must be a bitch with all this power-grabby conflict going on.
>>36088805I doubt his power extends over elemental spirits of hatred and destruction.
>>36086922Rasputin is the guy who runs Russia for Chernobog, just like the bad guy from Quest For Camelot is one of The Horned King's lieutenants(and has Excaliber fused with himself thus explaining where that sword went), and the bad guy from Swan Princess is a former student of Mad Madam Mim and keeps his small territory for himself by using both his informal relationship with Mim and him technically being a vassal of Grimhilde to his advantage>>36088347that's fine, as long as we leave a decent amount of room for them(Luckily except for Tzelkan who's going to be a core component, most of the other 3rd party villains are either relatively minor, or can inhabit places outside Earth proper)>>36088785if you're talking about the old cartoon one, that's Disney>>36088843yeah he'd be a good starting adventure(heck Virginia makes a good starting region)
>>36088805Yeah, see, this is why I'm with the party that doesn't want the Firebird to have a set territory. It should be a random, uncontrollable, destructive force. It comes, wipes things out, and moves on.Now if Slim, Grimhilde, Malificent, or whomever wanted to try and control that living nightmare? Well, that sounds like an adventure hook to me.
>>36088843>>36088873A dullahan WOULD make a good adventure hook...You know they're also from Fey legends. Perhaps Maleficent summoned him to keep tabs on Ratcliffe while she's in Europe.
>>36088887Probably a high-level one at that.
>>36088805>Be Facillier >Smokin weed with my friends on the other side>one of them make a joke about that fat fuck alameda slim>Evevy body laughin>Wait>Whats that smell>Whats that sound>run outside>Ohsweetfrienditsthefirebird.jpg>Wait>Who the fuck is that on its ba->No>NONONONONOOOOOO
>>36088820I would say you could play someone from bald moutain. They will tend to be very cynical and bleak and have nightmares offering them power to bettray their comrades. But you could go for it.
>>36088851They are probably demon worshipers, ignorant peasants keeped in fear and such. But in the end the Black God is way too subtle in his work to just jump around and kill everyone who doesn't like him. Someone heroic doomed to failure would probably amuse him enough to let him live for some time.
>>36088873Non-Disney stuff should be kept to the absolute minimum in the core setting. El Dorado fills in a hole in Central America and Princess Mononoke adds some character to Japan. Everything else should be Disney outside of supplementary material. That said, your ideas are cool. I totally forgot about Ruber but he's a great villain whose mechanical soldiers would serve as elite units in the Horned King's armies.
>>36088815Three to start. More as you level up.
>>36088911A group of individuals hiding out in a small, unimportant, town in Virginia. The town suddenly starts to get raided by the Horesman. The heroes rise up and face down the spirit. They save the town, but unfortunately, by doing so, they're now Noticed. Thus bigger adventures begin.Sounds good.
>>36088887OH! Ohohoh! The ring of fire is the Firebird's usual range/path, with occasional forrays into other areas.
>>36088967>Undead Weapon Amalgamations that basically can't be killed without Dyrnwyn.Hold me Nobody, I'm scared.
>>36088887The way I imagine the firebird is that it essentially acts as the left hand of the spirit realm. If anyone in its territory starts to fuck around a bit too much, starts cutting down too many trees or killing too many animals the firebird comes spewing from the ground. It can pop up anywhere at any time in the spirit realm. The Charred Lands are the Firebird's roost, though. Unlike the rest of the spirit realm, which is a tranquil and untouched wilderness, the Charred lands are scarred with ash and solidified magma. Mt. Saint Helens is the Firebird's perch, and if you want to find it for whatever reason, it'll be there
>>36088973Cue a trip to Europe to find out why the fuck they're being watched by a huge murder of crows all the time.I fucking love it.
>>36088823Okay, so do you like my idea of matching the number of Lessons to the current skill to level it up?Also, once you reach a total number of lessons (10, 20, 30?) you can pick a new trait?
Archive archive archive!
>>36089018Please no skill leveling via practice. That just promotes poor gameplay behavior.Lessons should be able to be spent in the following ways:Level skills, Level traits at a cost higher than skills, level attributes at a higher cost than traits, get powers at a higher cost than attributes.
>>36088435Could you do the same thing with the Subjugate of Kaa and The Free Creatures? I think they would be pretty contested between themselves and their animal neighbors.
>>36088973Could Notice be a mechanic? Like, how much you can fuck with a villain before you're not longer beneath their consideration?Managing your Notice status correctly could be the key to foiling them from right under their nose, otherwise they'll just send their A-game to crush you. This would encourage players to actually act like a rebel group.
>>36089048I've been doing it the past few times but I really can't keep my eyes open any longer. Could someone please take care of it this time? My deepest apologies.
>>36089018It's an old question: should PCs be able to spend XPs as they want, or should they slowly increase in what they are using? We should decide now: do you get Lessons and can spend them to get what you want, or do you get Lessons which automatically go towards raising what you sued to get them?
>>36088711>Record ScratcherWhen a character starts a musical number, gain an attack of opportunity (Is that a thing?) on that character>Brothers in Arms+1 bonus to combat rolls for every character in the party that uses the same type of weapon or comes from the same homeland>Hakuna Matata!+2 to resist on any sort of mental distress>I'll figure it out.+2 bonus when trying to use or operate any device that the player has not come in contact with before>Meowr!-1 to Intimidate.>ROAR!!+4 to Intimidate. Must be taken after "Meowr!" I'm not sure if that is stupid or not, I was thinking back on Simba trying to roar and stuff. >Don't You Disrespect Me, Little Man!+3 to Intimidate if the character has been offended
>>36089018So, going back to Mahrikatoka. She'll get 1 lesson for surviving the fight. 1 lesson for getting the floodlight idea. (GMs can give bonus lessons for smart ideas.) And 1 lesson for fixing the floodlight. She has three lessons. She spends one lesson to turn her ranged from 1 to 2.Her total number of lessons at this point is, let's say, 7. Three more lessons, and she'll be able to get a new trait.Sound okay?
>>36088683Better Put Some Water On That Burn: by spending three (?) points of Heart, you can insult someone so terribly that they are guaranteed to do something stupid, depending on the situation (Charismatic)Shoulders of Atlas: By spending an Heart point, the character can double his Robustness for the purposes of pushing, heaving, supporting or otherwise applying non-violent force on a single unanimated object. Requires both hands to be free. (Strong)Tactical Genius: If the character spends two (?) points of Heart, he is istantly aware of how to best take advantage of every single feature of a particular battle; what this means varies from situation to situation, but it should always be at least a +2 bonus to all combat-related activities for the whole group, because of optimal use of covers, good covering fire etc. (Smart)No Such Thing As Bad Terrain: By spending a a point of Heart, the character can ignore any and all limitations caused by the terrain he's walking on: he jumps from rock to rock in a river, seems to never slip into mud in a swamp etc.Stare Into The Soul: By spending one point of Heart, the character can istantly know everything there is to know regarding a single creature's personality, intentions, attitude and personal philosophy. For the rest of the scene, he can automatically tell if that creature is lying.
>>36089005For that? I would want about this much dynamite.Too bad we don't have any Nitroglycerin, eh Milo?
>>36089072I can certainly try, thanks for everything. How do I do it?
>>36088973That sounds great. And it takes place close to multiple regions, so multiple character origins. Are y'all designing this like a game to be played on here or a board game irl?
>>36089068>This would encourage players to actually act like a rebel group.I don't think we need a mechanic for that: the players should act like a rebel group because that's literally the only way to survive, but the GM can do that without a Notice mechanic.
>>36089083I'm always a fan of what they want.
Just got home from class, longer than expected. Going to whip up a villain/nation relation chart here.
>>36089068Some villains will have higher notice, probably.Horned King, Maleficent and Grimhilde all have high Notice - Gwythaints and pragmatism, fae power and fuckery, and magic mirrors and paranoia.Jafar probably would be too wrapped up in his own world and secure in his own power, Elsa's bonkers and Frollo's also mad.>>36089106Isn't that the same imageswap as last time?
>>36089116I appreciate the offer but, you know, I can stay up long enough to do this. Once I post the confirmation of archival I'll show you.
>>36089099Perhaps a number of lessons equal to the new skill rank to buy a skill? I think Traits should cost 5 lessons, and attributes 10. Powers should be 15 or 20.
>>36089106>>36089145Nah, I'm a different guy who just uploaded the wrong image. I saved that one for use as a druid's animal companion. I meant to post this.
>>36089105I really like the whole thing, you're good at this!Should all powers require Heart Points though? Seems like parties will burn through them pretty fast
>>36089058>>36089139Then this is good: >>360890992 Lesson and you can raise a Skill, 4 Lessons and you can buy a Trait, 6 Lessons and you can raise an Attribute.Every 10 Lessons you learn you get a new Class Power for free.
>>36088967yeah we'll get the core stuff mostly stabilized and then we can bring them in and properly detail them(I like the idea that while Tzelkan won, Tulio and Miguel are still widely worshiped in El Dorado lands, and Chel has become a Virgin of Guadalupe type figure to the people, and Tzelkan is just peeved about it but can't do anything about it)
>>36089068Yeah, as sweet as it sounds, I don't think it should be a set mechanic. The amount of notice that the PCs get from the Kings should be something that the GM should have call over. Players shouldn't be afraid of doing stuff for fear of calling down death squads.
>>36089145How about Cherno? Would he know everything but rarely care? Is his power even clearly defined? In Fantasia he kind of fucked around with his power to create and warp life for his own amusement like a boss.
>>36089195Well, the ones in the pastebin all did, so I assumed that that was the case. It's getting too late for me though, so now I've got to hit the hay. Keep up the good work, people.
>>36089239One adventure sees one PC agreeing with the DM to play as a creation of Chernobol's, secretly acting in his own interests. Diligent players may discover the deception or may find their weaknesses exposed if they ever stray too near Bald Mountain.
>>36089203If we're really going with getting powers for free, 10 lessons is a bit of a short interval.
>>36089239I would go for him being aware of whatever he wants to be aware of anywhere. You say his name and you can be in another entire domain and he will notice. On the otherhand he doesn't pay attention to everything. So somethings can slip though but others might be just as planned and you not know it. At least that's my first thoughts.
>>36089162>Perhaps a number of lessons equal to the new skill rank to buy a skill? So, going back to the example, Mahrikatoka would spend 2 lessons to get her Ranged to 2. Leaving her with 1.>I think Traits should cost 5 lessons, and attributes 10.So, if she decides to not spend her lessons, and hasn't spent any yet, giving her 7. She can buy 1 new trait, or wait for three more lessons and get a bump to her tribute.>Powers should be 15 or 20.Total earned, or do they have to accumulate and not spend all 15/20?
>>36089239He notices but doesn't give a shit. It's like a tyrannosaur giving a shit about the state of the rough endoplasmic reticulum on the neck of the hadrosaur it's tearing apart. The Tyrannosaur from Fantasia should be his 'guard dog'.
>>36089277Fine, 15 then, but consider that Lessons don't grow on trees.

>>36084081Going off a idea given long agoPleasure Island!>King: Pinocchio the rotten Prince rLong long ago, before the villains rose, long before the fae ran rampant, even before Chenrobog, there was once a small wooden puppet naimed Pinocchio. He was made by his father Gepetto in his workshop, and brought to life by the blue fairies kindness. At first, it seemed a dream come true for Gepetto, but not soon after the miraculous birth, Pinocchio went missing. Fearing the worst, Gepetto set sail for his son, hearing rumors of him being dragged to sea by a monster. This was only half true, because in reality, Pinocchio was kidnapped by the horseman, amd taken to Pleasure Island, where he was encouraged to indulge in the hedonistic and recklessness pleasures offered, which he did gladly. Unknowing to him how ever, was the secret of Pleasure Island: those boys who indulged their darker sides were transformed by the spirits of the island into what ever shape their master pleased. In this case, asses. But the coachman did not plan on young Pinocchio, who was not like other boys. He didn't tire as smashed through Windows, walls and other children. He didn't feel the pain of the other children hitting him or crying mercy. He didn't care, he was having too much fun. His body changed as well, growing larger, stronger, his nature being twisted by spirits of the island . His black horse hair turned coarse, his school boy uniform ripped and torn, and his gloved hands ripped by sharp bark claws. As the coachman came to collect his profit , he did not realize his folly upon calling out to Pinocchio to stop as he wripped apart a entire bar in search of that precious drink. He soon did though, as he felt the puppets arms rip him apart. Pleasure island had a new master, who would finally appreciate the paradise for what it was. Setting himself upon a throne of broken glass and ruins, he was approached by the spirits manifest, who crowned him kinghttp://youtu.be/WpORJhUHluE
>>36089216What if Miguel and Tulio decided to side with Tezekal kan over the fat priest, and said "hey, this is pretty good. Lets stay" and basically have convinced them selves that they, are in fact, gods.Angry gods
Gah, I didn't even give this thread a cool name.
Guys! I finished the pastebin for possible statting of beasts. Please excuse me if I don't have any grasp on mechanics whether existing or not yet. I figure even if completely awful, it will still provide some direction.http://pastebin.com/dEdC5jcB
>>36089617By the way, the spirits are pink elephants who feed off joy and pleasure
>>36089617Are you sure we want to start including "corrupt protagonists" in place of the villains when the whole premise of this setting is to have the villains achieve their victory conditions?I'm not saying it shouldn't happen. It absolutely should if it thematically interesting, but they should not outright replace the villains of the story.
>>36089617>>36089753You mean Pink Heffalumps
>>36089579Ha. Actually I was playing on the fact that no Pope has ever dared take Peter as their papal name (St. Peter being the first biblical Pope). Frollo has no such modesty and considers it the only fitting name.Your find is just gravy.
>>36088155Snakes can't hear?
>>36089876Well, they have inner ears but no outer ears. Put your thumbs over your ears and try to listen to things, it's like that. They can also sense vibrations through their bellies and taste the air. In this sense, snakes can respond to thuds, loud cracking noises or low rumbling noises better than other sounds.
