PREVIOUSLY ON MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Magical+Girl+Liberty“Thanks for your help, Jock.”Of course you would thank your dedicated pilot. He’s been working with you ever since you became a Magical Girl, he saved your little heiny back in Spain last year, and he certainly hasn’t stopped there. Now, the veteran pilot has been enlisted – at your request – as the Sparrow’s helmsman. A pilot by nature, complete with the peaked cap, the leather jacket, and the silly smile that all pilots seem to possess.“Oh, don’t you worry, Chris,” he says as he mans the wheel. Jock isn’t the only non-magical girl crewman aboard, the Sparrow being a giant atomic powered Zeppelin means you need a full crew of at least 30 people to maintain the Atomic engine alone. “Anything for you! Your father did me a hell of a service getting me a job here after my airfield got shut down, it’s the least I could do!”You smile at Jock. “You ever miss the airfield?”“Oh, poor living it was, especially in the Dustbowl, but yeah. Flying a Jenny certainly is a bit more free than an entire Zep,” he says. He tips his cap to you. “Anyway, I oughta let you go, I know you’re busy.”You nod. “Of course, Jock.”[1/2]
>>35455055[2/2]“And hey, you tell that little Jap friend of yours I said Hi, alright?”Ugh, damn it Jock, you just had to give that reminder. Whatever, he didn’t mean nothing by it. You walk away out of the bridge and into the main gondola. Above you can see the envelope, gas bags filled with helium, and below that the skeletal glowing blue works of the Atomic engine. It’s a relatively smooth ride considering the engine nacelles are rockets instead of propellers, but as Doctor Savage said, “gives it the speed it needs!”You’re no Howard Hughes so you can’t argue with that. Now, what to do?> Review the mission at hand, you’re close to Skull Island anyway> Go see Anneliese, she ought to be in her room.> Go find Rana, maybe she’s gushing about the Atomic Engine again.> Write in

> Go see Anneliese, she ought to be in her room. You knock on the door. “Anneliese. You in there?”“Ja, ja, come in.” It’s the little things that remind you that Anneliese was German. You open up the door and walk into her room. Unlike you or Rana, her room has been left as it was. You even think it’s a little more Spartan than it was when you moved into the Sparrow. Anneliese lies on her bed, in her simple blouse and skirt. Nothing too fancy about it. She’s reading a comic book, Detective Comics by the look of it. Without even looking up at you, she asks, “Was ist los?”You stare at her.She looks up, then sighs. “What is wrong?”“Nothing!” You sit down in her spare chair and sit down across from her, smiling. “Nothing at all.”“Am I going to be your queer slave since your schnuckiputzi left us for a higher paying contract?” she asks bluntly. Ow, darn it, Anneliese. Ow…You shake your head. “N-no.” You huff, crossing your arms and glaring at her a bit. “Jeez, Anneliese. I just wanted to talk.”“Sure,” she says. “My apologies. Was I wrong?”“… very,” you say. “Very, very, wrong.”“Ah, my apologies again,” she says. “I should really stop assuming things it seems.” She closes up the comic book and looks at you concernedly. The first time she’s done that in… forever actually. “But, Liberty, I must say, it is strange not having her around. And she really left you just because of money?”You sigh, leaning back and looking up at the ceiling. That is something you really hate to admit but it is something you have to acknowledge. “Yeah. I guess.”“Then perhaps she is not your friend, even in Germany before Hitler, we valued family above money,” she says. “I didn’t have one mind you but it is still something to consider.”“Are you trying to tell me the Nazis have some sort of edge? She smiles at you. “Just working on this autogyro here. You know what you’re doing with this autogyro?”She nods again, tapping the engine block with a spanner. “I’ve been reading the manual. One benefit of being a Magical Girl is being able to process information relatively quickly.”“And yet I still can’t learn German,” you say. Not that you want to be German, you just think it would be really useful to know. Maybe even insult the Krauts in their own language. > Go over the plan one last time with the crew. You gather up Rana and Anneliese and place down the map of the island on the hood of your truck. “Right, where is where we’ll be landing. Deep within the island. Cloud cover is going to take us in where we’ll be moving down south towards a ruined Atlantean city.”Rana asks, “What are we looking for?”“Hopefully, it’ll be the Magisch Korps. But there’s another problem in that the IJA have also landed on Skull Island in force and have already rounded up a lot of the natives and well… You all read the newspapers on that.” Deplorable, all of it. “Anyway, rules of engagement are the same with the Japs. More importantly, we’re looking to hopefully steal back the Shard and gather up new information on what they intend to do with it. That means…”You place down a photo, showing a large spire like building in the center of the old city, “Going here. This is an old temple that the Atlanteans built to honor the Gods. The Messengers have told us these particular temples have a certain aura of magic around them. The Shard might be something they want to us to… activate it or whatever. I’m gonna be honest, I’m making this up as I go along.”“Then be honest,” says Anneliese. “What is the plan?”“We go in, try and steal it back,” you say. “Simple.”“Alright!” Rana grins, patting the hood of the truck. “When do we land?”“Thirty minutes. Rana, you’ll drive the truck and we’ll ride in back. Jock will keep the Sparrow circling the island, but if the Kleine Fraulein is in the area, it won’t last long. Let’s try to make this quick and easy.”[1/2]
>>35457587[2/2]……“PUSH!”Okay, maybe you shouldn’t have said “quick and easy” because the first thing that happened upon landing in the jungles of Skull Island is the fact that your truck has been bogged down in mud. You and Anneliese shove the truck’s rear as Rana gives it the gas. The truck is important, it has supplies for several days in case you do have to stay on the island for an extended period of time. But now, it just seems like a liability.Rana looks back, frowning. “The ruddy thing won’t go!”You and Anneliese look back at her, splattered head to toe in mud. “We hadn’t noticed,” you say.> Leave the truck. > Keep trying, you’d rather eat canned beans than bugs for breakfast. You sigh. “Keep trying, Rana.” You grab onto the rear bumper with Anneliese. “This’ll be the difference between easy fun time or nasty no fun time where we get eaten by Raptors.”Rana looks back. “There are dinosaurs on this island!?”“Why do you think people come here?” you ask. That’s not even a rhetorical question. If you were a guy with disposable income and nothing else to do with your time, you sure as hell would come here just to see a darn dinosaur. Then again, most of these dinosaurs are evolved to kill each other, humans are basically bugs under their feet. And some of these dinosaurs like them bugs like an entomophagist .Rana shrugs. “I just thought it looked like a nice place.”Anneliese says, “Really. A place called Skull Island is a nice place. It must rank in the top ten island destinations like Death Island or Kill-All-Humans Rock.”“No need to be so sarcastic,” you say. You can clearly see Rana be hurt by that little comment. “Let’s just get this thing out of this bog before-“You hear the bushes shift. You all hush up, even stopping your breathing. Whatever it is that’s closing in, it’s big and it must really be hungry!“Come on! Rana and Tiger step away from you worriedly. You are going to do something you thought you would never do again for no good reason. You are going to build a log raft. “Get me some wood, girls.”Rana and Tiger start pulling logs and branches big enough and long enough to serve as platforms. You tie them all together, expertly. With your sleeves rolled up high and your skirt hiked up to give you better form and mobility, you give these branches the old one-two punch. Doctor Savage was thorough in his teaching of the proper knot, and he believed that everyone should have some knowledge of being able to build a raft in emergency conditions. And clearly he was right! Finally, you have a log raft, capable of lifting you three. Tiger withdraws from her armor, favoring a lighter approach to make it easy on you two. “Right,” you say. “Let’s shove off.”You push the raft out onto the water, then mount up. He flails his arms desperately until the great big fish swallows him whole. The Pirahnadon turns towards you then begins swimming at you.Uh oh.> Swim down> Swim up> Write in

> Swim upYou break the surface, gasping for breath. Rana cries, “Aaah! Oh god, I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”“It’s fine!” you yell. “Come on! Swim, swim!” You both kick your legs as you swim out for Tiger. She’s actually managed to get the raft a good deal of distance away. Maybe you shouldn’t have told her to keep rowing. “Tiger!” you scream.“Come on!” she yells, holding out her hand.“American!” Oh jeez. You look back to see the Officer, pissed out of his mind, swimming towards with sword in hand. “I am going to make you scream you little bitch! Come here!” Wow, he’s a fast swimmer, keep kicking! You keep on swimming, but the Officer is closing in quick. “When I am through you-“The Pirahnadon bursts up from underneath him, catching the Officer in his mouth. The Officer screams, reaching out for help. The Pirahnadon shuts its mouth tight, around the Officer’s arms as it falls back into the swamp waters.Well, glad that’s not you. You manage to catch up to your raft. You hoist Rana up, then Tiger helps you on. “Come on!” You grab an oar with Tiger and start rowing with her as Rana lies there in complete shock. You look back to see the Pirahnadon smash the Jap raft, sending the occupants into the water. Okay, that should buy you some time. You keep on rowing and rowing as the Japs desperately swim away.[1/2]
>>35462092[2/2]……You three tiredly walk through the jungle, letting the leaves and branches brush against you. At most, you’ve got maybe a few days worth of food left after that fiasco. But at least it seems that worse is behind you.Rana pants, rubbing her sweat-covered forehead with her dirtied wrist. “Chris, can we stop? I’m so tired…”“We’re close, the city is just over that hill,” you say. That’s just your estimate. It’s probably closer to half a mile actually. > We stop and restYou sigh. “Okay. We’ll rest up underneath that tree there.” You point to a little cave made from the bottom of a tree, big enough for the three of you. You look at them, and they themselves look a bit skeptical. “You wanted a break, we need to do it some place safe. That looks safe.”Tiger nods. “Fine, I will scout it out.” She steps down to the little hole and aims her machine gun gauntlets out. “Well, it appears okay and- AAH!” She blasts a slice of the tree to bits.“What!?” you and Rana jump down to her. What was that!?Tiger shivers a bit. “Sorry, it was a bug.” You look at her with the look of a very stern mother. “I do not like bugs okay, it- it startled me.”Rana looks down at the carcass. “It looks like a megapede. They see can grow up to five feet in length.” Tiger grows white at that as she kneels down and curls up.You nod. “Right, we better air out our clothes. We’ll only be resting for a little bit.” Rana and Tiger pile up some logs and wood. You present your Soul Ring and construct a magical projection of your shield. It spins up, whining as it goes faster and hotter, then you slice the wood, sparking a little flame for them to warm up.You sit down next to them as they happily warm up. Rana looks at Tiger. “So… afraid of bugs, huh?”“No,” says Tiger quickly.Rana blinks. “B-but you just said-““I was lying. Is the Piranhadon a legendary monster, or a typical inhabitant of Skull Island?Either way, I think it should have that text everything important seems to have.
>>35462958It ain't no Gustave.
>>35462958It's a native creature to Skull Island, nothing particularly legendary about it other than the fact that it's a giant man-eating somewhat amphibious fish. The Piranhadon that was chasing you around was just one of the smaller males.
> “You know a lot about bugs, Rana?”You smile a bit. “So, Rana, you know a lot about bugs?” She nods at you. “Tell us about them.”“Oh yeah, well… there’s one bug, the botfly down in the Amazons.” Rana grins at Tiger, innocently. She doesn’t know what she’s doing. Tiger simply glares at her, pursing her lips hugging her curvy legs as she does so. “Basically, what it does is plant its larva in other insects, and when the larva grows up, it eats its way out of them.”Tiger nods. “Okay.”“It can’t bite humans, but if a bug bitten by the botfly bites a human, the larva switches over to the human. There was a case of a man being kept awake by the sound of larva eating the flesh in his brain!” She smiles at Rana. “Isn’t that cool?”…Tiger says, “I hate you. So much.”Rana blinks, frowning. “Huh? Why?”Tiger scoots away, her eyes dotting from vine to tree, to everywhere a bug may be. “I do not wish to learn more about bugs.”“Oh.” Rana twiddles her fingers, looking down sadly. “Okay.”> “Now Tiger, she’s just messing with you.”> “You can’t honestly be that scared.”> “It’s alright to be afraid of bugs, Tiger.”> Write in

It burns to death with nary a scree or a cry. Tiger lies down, eyes wide with fear, but then she immediately goes back to glaring at you both. You smile. “Relax, it’s alright. We’re all afraid of something. Take me-“ You place your hand on your chest. “I’m scared of freezing to death.”“Freezing to death?” asks Tiger. “That is a very oblique way to die considering what we do.”“Well… I just hate the idea of it, freezing, every fiber of your body just shutting down because it’s too cold to move,” you say. “I don’t know, I hate it. So, I think we can just rest for the night.” The girls smile at that, happy enough to be resting and not trying to not get eaten by a dinosaur. You unfold your bedroll and spread it, lying down upon it.Doesn’t feel any different from the ground. Hell the ground would feel softer.Rana and Tiger lie back as well, using their hands for pillows. “Well, if it’s any consolation, Chris, I think tomorrow we can make great progress. We might even be able to beat the krauts to the city,” says Rana. She looks over at Tiger. “No offense.”“None taken,” she says quickly.“Right,” you say. “Get some rest you two.” The sun goes down over the horizon, painting the trees stark black against its orange glow. “We’ve got a long day ahead of us tomorrow.”……“Christine.”You open your eyes, finding yourself at your dinner table. You look up to see your Father. A short man, greying streaks in his brown hair, and his soft eyes hidden behind those glasses of his. He pulls his smoking pipe from his lips and smiles at you. “You haven’t eaten your dinner. Something wrong?”You look at your Soul Ring. You were christened as a Magical Girl a few weeks ago. He should be able to work out basic algebra and entry level calculus-““Dad, I’m 13, what makes you think-“ Oh, darn it. “No… Look.” You show him your Soul Ring. “I got this, a few weeks ago.” The Soul Ring is simple, but elegant. It’s a white Star sitting upon a red and blue stripe. The star itself is like a little gem of sorts. He takes your hand, looking closer at it. “Wow, it’s beautiful. Where’d you get it?”“You remember that incident, with the…” Ugh, you hate remembering that. “With the Cross of Coronado?”“Of course,” he says. “What about it?”“Well.” You withdraw your hand, twiddling your fingers as you try to find a good way to say this. “I caught the attention of this… cat. His name is Kirby, and what he does is uh… he turns girls like me, girls who can fight and are of good moral standing, into Magical Girls. What we do is fight and defend people with magical powers and the like. He turned me into one.” You present your Soul Ring again. “This Soul Ring gives me my powers, and in it are the previous lives that bore the name Liberty, well, copies of them he tells me. All their experience is there for me if I ever need it. And right now… I’m Magical Girl Liberty.”[1/2]
>>35464638[2/2]…Your Dad leans back a bit. “Wow.”“Dad?” You quirk your brow.Your Dad shakes his head. “Well… Christine- That’s… something.” He takes his pipe up again, taking a drag from it, and blowing smoke. “Whoo…”“You don’t believe me, do you?” This was stupid.“Christine, as a scientist, it is my duty to not believe anything until there is hard evidence,” he says. He takes your hands, surprising you. He leans in, and looks you right in the eyes. “Christine. The evidence I need is right in front of me. I believe every word you say. And I promise, if you want to keep this a secret, I will keep it to my grave, I will not speak a word to anyone.”Your lip quivers. “… D-Daddy.”“I am your Father, do not worry about a thing.” He hugs you. You cry a little in his shoulders. “Oh… Christine.”……Dad.……You’re poked in the back of the head. You open your eyes, to see Tiger and Rana, still sleeping soundly. What poked you? You yawn a bit as you turn over-Knives.She slots her knife underneath your chin. The anti-magic burns on your skin. “Ssshh…” She places her finger to your lips, licking her own lips in return. “They’re sleeping, Lady Liberty,” she whispers. Her other three compatriots stand behind her, smirking at you. And behind them a squad of Anti-Magic troopers.Great. This again.
