Previously on Medieval Pokemon QuestA 14 year old boy is sent on his pokemon journey with his trusty Turtwig, Teddy. Hunting in the the forest and checking out a lake nets him Carla, the Clauncher. We travel to Bluerock city and join up with a trading ship. Bunking with the wealthy Jesse, Barry learns to sail and trains his pokemon. Barry escorts Jessie to her ultra-rich uncle and learns of the civil war taking place in Hoenn. After a night at a mansion, the pair explores the jungle and gain new partners, a Bagon and Croagunk. They then walk through the botanical garden and return to the ship.On the trip home against the currents, a pirate ship is spotted and board the Painted Wailord. The pirate captain attacks your room with his Greninja. Luckily, we fight off the scum and watch Teddy evolve. Resting against the wall, you have a highpoint in every boy's life, your first kiss. You are informed that as the slayer of the pirate captain, you are now the owner of his ship. You rename the Grim Greninja the Garrulous Grotle. You and Jessie get kitted out in poke-armor, then you meet her parents. An awkward dinner later, you leave and wake in the morning to see Jessie and her father.1/?
Going off to Hoenn, you learn to read and are banned from Jessie's cabin. You go to a captain's meeting, where you here some interesting tidbits. Locked out of her cabin, the two of you go off into the markets of Lilycove city. Ending up on the beach, you fall asleep and wake to the sunset. Walking back to the ship after escorting Jessie to her cabin, you are robbed by a red headed thief. Learning her story, you offer her a job on the ship, as she turns out to know some carpentry. You go on an expedition for new pokemon, making friends with a Mankey and naming him Jack. Jessie finds a Ralts, while Alyssa befriends a Luxio. On the last day in Hoenn, you go out with the girls to find books for the journey home. The markets seemed extra crowded that day.A wild storm drives you off course, when you spot a small boat on the horizon. Held within the boat is the twins, Emma and James. Telling their story by switching speakers mid-sentence, you learn of their town that was taken over by pirates. You sneak through the swamps surrounding the town to do some reconnaissance. On your way out, you are stopped by a group of men. Luckily, their leader recognizes Emma and doesn't stab you. A few days are spent with the group, which is composed of all the people who escaped the pirates, in which you plan your attack on the town. Creeping up at night, you are able to take out a large number of pirates before the alarm is raised. Commanding your army of fighters, you destroy the pirate's battle lines. The pirate captain challenges you to a duel, which you accept. A few bruises and a broken rib later, you defeat the pirate. Blacking out, you wake to see the ceiling of an infirmary. As you wait for your ribs to heal, you explore the town you saved. You meet up with the twins Emma and James, and get aquatinted with their grandfather. He lets you in on the town's secret, an emerald mine hidden behind the town. 2/?
You buy a strange bracer with red crystal and a white flute at a rare item shop, then go on an expedition into the swamps around the town. Off answering nature, a spinarark jumps out. Using your White Flute, you stop the angry pokemon from biting off your Caterpie. The giant bug folows you home, and creeps you out for a few hours. Philip gives a speech and announces a marriage between himself and Emma. The twins and their grandfather decide not to go along with that, and you take on the twins into your services. Sailing to Kalos, you earn to fly with a Sky Suit and catch a Fletchling. Leaving the region to their silly accents, you sail on to Blurock City.Barry talks with Jessie, then the first ship battle of the quest takes place. We learn the use(s?) of the runic bracer, and sink the pirate ship. After the battle, the loot is distributed among the crew. The crew promptly redistributes the loot, the ones with the best poker faces becoming much richer. Jessie gets home, where her father is waiting. Leaving the pair, you return to the ship. With a reward for the sinking of the pirate ship, you order some new armor. You go shopping for the trip to the temple. Before the trip, your Fletchling evolves into a Fletchinder. With the newly evolved falcon on your shoulder, you enter the armor's shop. Exiting with two sets of plate and your steel/leather armor, you prep for the trip. Picking up Jessie, her father makes you promise to protect her. Once on the road, you meet a kind old man in an inn. With his help, you learn that you can open gates in space. James tests positive as well, able to manipulate flames. Shenanigans with portals ensue, before joining up with trade wagons. Bandits attack, and with your new magic, fought off. >wall of text over

What...Where an I?The world is darkness, the only sensation a steady thump and vibrations.Opening your eyes, late daylight streams into them. Oak leaves filter the light, leaving shafts of light to pierce your eyes."Guys! He's awake!" Head splitting voices drive spikes into your brain, as faces crowd around you. A babble of noise hits you in waves, washing over you like the surf. "Get out of the way! He's sitting up" The headache starts to abate, and you can recognize James' voice. Rocking up, hands help to keep you upright. A large white bandage, discolored from blood into brownish red, wraps your thigh."Thank Arceus, I got scared that you wouldn't survive," sounds like Emma, and a glance over reveals her golden hair at your side. "The bandit's blade was poisoned, and you collapsed after that stunt you pulled. James says that magic takes it's toll on you, and you were using a lot last week."Wait. What. A week! A week of laying on your back, riding a cart. Even now, the after effects of the poison are obvious. A terrible headache, and purple veins running up your leg. Hopefully, they'll go away soon.Another week passes, most of it spent on your ass. On the last day, you limp along with the rest of your friends. Entering the temple city, the wagonmaster hands you 150 gold coins. You walk to the temple, leaning heavily on James. In the middle of the temple, which is arrayed out like a wheel, stands a massive seventeen sided log. Engraved on each side, is a different symbol and name of an element. Roads go out from the hub, like spokes on a wheel, into each section of the temple. A passing priest says that each one is used for prayer.

James says goodbye, then walks down the road to the fire sector. Alyssa heads into the deep forest, while Jessie heads to the pink palace. Emma heads to the lake, striping down into her tunic and jumping into the water.Drawn to the ringing of the steel, you walk down a street paved with a silvery metal. Steel and stone workshops line the street, ringing bells coming from within. Following the street, which gradually shifts to unrefined ore and stone, you limp toward a rocky mountain. Stopping to rest under fruit trees whenever the strain on you leg gets to be to much, you reach the wooded slope after a lunch of apples and plums. Entering a shaft in the mountain, cool underground air marks a sharp contrast to the day's heat. Inside the mountain, glowing crystals light your way. The tunnel branches out, but is marked to show the way out. Following the tunnel as it gently slopes up, you rest in small alcoves with fresh water gurgling from cracks in the wall. A light at the end of the tunnel marks the end, which you exit into the open. You are on the pine covered slopes of the mountain, on a small flat part. Off to the right, a spring bubbles up into a clear pond. Fruit trees hang over the water, reflections staring up at the sky.
Slipping out of your overclothes, you slide into the cool water. Night falls as you float, wind shaking the trees. Exhaustion over takes you, slipping into a deep sleep as the trees whisper. The landscape spreads out around you as you float, on air instead of water. People, the size of Joltiks, walk below. No one runs, each lost in prayer and contemplation. Swooping down, you glide to the steel mountain. You crash into the slope, but instead of pain, you phase through the rock. Reaching a cavern, you stop. Water cascades down the smooth stone walls, stalagmites and stalactites coming from the floor and ceiling. Between two stones, reaching up to touch each other, floats a body. Flying closer to it, you recognize the boy. It's you.Blond hair stirs in the air, as the body shifts. The head raises, staring into your eyes. Instead of your blue eyes, pure white stares out at you. A white so... white. It's like the moon, but blank of all craters. Enraptured, you stare into your eyes."You have come seeking none. One always finds a want in the heart, but this one lacks. Why is that?" the body says, it's voice like a choir of eighteen men and women>What to say?>Friendship>Love>Life>Laughter>Other

"Love" "Love. Many in this world think that they love, only to dash it against rocks. Purity must be rewarded. I shall give you a gift. It shall not be apparent, but know that your lord watches you" The world fades to black, then back.Stars shine down at your floating body. The wind blows through the fruit trees, the leaves whispering to you. A band of red, the rising sun, sits on to the east. You swim over to the bank, shattering the reflective waters. Climbing back into your clothes, after drying off with your tunic. Climbing the largest tree, a massive oak, you sit and watch the day pass. Soft white clouds float, occupying the space you were in last night. After noon, you walk down the side of the mountain, wild bird pokemon singing in the trees. For three weeks you live in the temple's lodgings, traveling to each sector to pray and think. The library, a pink/purple marble building next to the fairy palace, is the spot where you spend the most time. You check the histories, but nothing stands out akin to your dream.James spends much of the weeks immersed in lava, meditating. Your group meets up for dinner often, but often is missing one or two members. The days fly by, finished before their time. However, you can't extend your stay, as much as you wish to.Traveling back to Bluerock city with your friends, no bandits attack. The hot springs where you used your first portal prove entertaining. Emma refuses to show you the game she was playing last time. Party pooper. A stop at one of your crew member's farm treats you to a great dinner, before you leave with him. Tactics, trade, and Pokemon. That seems like the best captain/admiral build, though having large portals could be really cool in naval combat, just teleport an entire ship to the bottom of the sea.

>>35308712>>Tactics>>Pokemon>>TradeI feel Sword Fighting and Magic could be incorporated into Tactics and Pokemon since Barry tends to use his partners in combat and tactics alot
Years pass by, each taking it's toll. Years of sword fighting and work pack on pounds of muscle, staying lithe and flexible. The many trips on the sea burn all visible skin a nut brown. You go through a growth spurt, ending up near six feet tall. The battles wear on you, leaving their marks in the form of scars. A white line across your cheek, from the battle against Captain Hunter's band, along with a dip in your thigh from the stabbing by the bandit. Lines cross and split on your arms and legs, with your index finger covered in scar tissue from your first portal. Modifications to your armor keep the steel shaped to your body. Back in Bluerock, you commission a ship for yourself. Lavish interiors, both for officer and crew, keep everyone happy onboard. Clear glass windows, each six feet tall, span one wall in your cabin. Charts and books, collected from ports all over the world, cover the walls and tables. Replacing your old hammock, a king-sized bed hangs on strong ropes located on each corner of the bed. Stuffed with soft feathers and covered with silk and down blankets, the bed serves as a respite from life onboard. Armed with over fifty cannon, the vessel acts as the guard of your fleet. With so much armament, it's carrying capacity is greatly reduced. You kept pace with your ship, sparring with your friends, and slaying opponents. Likewise, you study magic whenever possible, reading as you steer the ship. Your many trade expeditions, often back to back, leave you with a much larger amount of disposable income. Jack, your favorite monkey, evolves, gaining height and a great deal of strength. Brandt evolves as well, mid-flight/fall. On the plus side, the sudden mass gain helped him crush that pirate. Spinarak was the first of your pokemon to evolve, becoming a giant red and purple spider. Nothing is more terrifying to wake up to, than a giant spider nuzzling you.1/?
James grew as well, reaching near half a foot taller than you. Compared to your gymnast-like body, James seems stocky. Massive throughout, he looks like a large column of flame in battle. This resemblance is only multiplied, as he dresses in shades of red, orange, and yellow. His blond hair adds to this, especially when he sets himself aflame. One of his favorite techniques makes use of his immunity, even more so now that he can spread it to his clothes and armor. On one trade expedition to Sinnoh, James befriends a Monferno who then befriends Jack. In a battle with pirates, his Nidoran evolves into a purple Nidorino. Still armed with his short spear, James now carries a quiver made of Magmar skin with throwing spears on his back. With the invasion, James has become a major player on the battlefield due to his immunity to flames. Emma also grew, to a lesser extent. Standing level with you, Emma grew up and out. Her wide hips and large chest has won her many admirers on the ship and in camp. Seemingly to make up for her lack of magic, Emma has thrown herself into spear fighting and is widely regarded as one of the best in camp. Like many of your ship crew, she wears a blue cape of linen or fur in the winter. Under the cape, dark steel lorica segmenta rests agains light blue tunics. In the same battle as James' nidoran, Emma's pink nidoran evolves into a Nidorina. Sending meat and grain to Hoenn, a Shroomish attaches itself to Emma. More recently, the Shroomish evolved into a Breloom. Onboard, she works as the cook, making wonders with the dried provisions.Ignore the sword in the pic
Alyssa stays almost the same height, only growing to five foot seven inches tall. Her fiery red hair grows long, trailing down to the small of her back. She fills out even more, drawing stares from men as she walks by. Her blue cape is shot through with greens, contrasting the red of her hair. Leather, lacquered a dark green, criss-crosses into a solid breastplate. A Chikorita leather quiver, stuffed full with razor-sharp arrows, crosses her back. Two more hang from her hips, brown Bouffalant leather matching her breeches. A Gogoat bow, bought off you, joins her back quiver. Her Luxio evolves into a Luxray in battle, and tears bandits and pirates to pieces. During battle, she leads the archers and the cannons. With the help of her pokemon's x-ray vision and a man with the ability to talk to pokemon, cannonballs slam into vital timbers and men. Traveling through the mountains in search of game, Alyssa catches a Tyrunt.Jessie stays close to Alyssa in height, lagging behind by an inch. She remains slim, staying slight and muscled. The years of practicing her fighting style, a fluid dance with flashing dual blades, lead to a slender gymnast's body. Twin black steel blades rest in crossed scabbards on her back. On her waist sit four knives in two double scabbards, one on each side. Next to the scabbards, are a row of steel darts, which are throw with a deadly aim. In battle, black steel and scaly purple Arbok leather combines to makes scale armor and light leather on her limbs. Her black hair is often accompanied by her yellow Joltik. Her Ralts evolves into a Kirlia, and then into a Gallade(that poor, poor gender confused pokemon). Escorted by Gallade and Croagunk, Jessie leads a small squadron of fighters. However, as she grew, so did her responsibilities. No longer able to go off with you(often), compounded by your trading expeditions, you see the black haired beauty less and less. When you do, it is often just for a night at a gala or ball.

No one expected this. No one expected an invasion. A few raids, maybe, but nothing of this scale. People laughed, saying the Ryttere would break against our city walls. No one expected them to take their first castle. No one expected them to conquer near all of the country. You and your crew were drafted into the resistance, forming a naval strike force with your three ships. You are currently in the commander hall, where General Vici is discussing plans."Now, the castle stands on a spit of land, jutting out into the sea. There are beaches here, here, and here. However only these two beaches have easy access to the top of the cliffs. If we could get some men up this one, behind the castle, it could help us greatly." The general, a forty-something man with a rapidly balding head of brown hair, points out spots on a map using his dagger. "Now, Captain Barry, we shall be sending you in to soften the castle up before the main assault. Any means you deem necessary, use. I want these horse fuckers destroyed, if you pardon my Kalosean. We can provide you with men, a troop of SEELs just arrived from the southern front.">How do you want to assault the castle?Castle view, but on a cliff overlooking the sea: http://www.dedoimedo.com/art_3d/castle_norman.html>Hit 'em hard with long distance ordnance>Go in close, send in the seels>Climb the cliffs(how?)>Write in

Unsure of our resources but my plan would be pound them with cannon fire and aerial shenanigans while some rock and ground types try to earthquake the wall down. Don't waste SEELS trying some dumbass wall climbing, wait for the wall to fall and go from there. Shouldn't take long with cannons and constant powerful earthquakes. Also have water types send a bunch of large waves as an irritant and obscurer while we try to wheel an artillery regiment stealthily behind them.

Every single person going up those cliffs is going to die. This is why castles are on cliffs in the first place, because it's easy to defend if somebody is dumb enough to try it.

The DC was very highExactly three days later, at high noon, great booming shots echoed across the water. Balls of iron are launched, their trajectory leading them to thick stone walls. Some fall short, shattering chucks of shale and dropping them to the water. Others fly high, striking inside the castle. The shelling continues, going on into the night and the next day. Ships transfer powder and balls to your ship, keeping the rain going continuously. The walls show their experience, chunks missing in the masonry. Sadly, it is too little to open a breech. On the second night of the shelling, with white smoke drifting across the water, you dive into the sea. Behind you, 100 other men and women jump into the dark waters. Wearing Empoleon steel armor, the group float in the salt water. Some pokemon, able to swim and climb, follow their masters. A black painted boat is lowered into the water. Two Poliwrath slip into rope harnesses, then swim with the drag of the boat.Diving back under, a red streamer unfurls from your back. The SEELs follow the color, the steel keeping out all water. Your pod forms up in the water, the mass of Empoleon steel forming a huge air pocket. You swim with the surf, a cloud of black against grey water. Landing, you unhook the banner from between your shoulders. Leading the crew across the stony beach, a wave of sound hits you. The cannons, still firing, just scored another hit. James and his Monferno step out of the boat, careful to exit between waves. Charlotte follows, bright exoskeleton covered in black paint. Jack, a cutlass on his back, exits while Felix flies to you. 1/2
The giant spider climbs the wall of stone effortlessly, letting out silk as she goes. The seels clip onto the silk, which has knot-like parts to stop slipping to far. The slate, wet with rain and sea spray, is slippery but has obvious fracture lines. The lines make good footholds, and where there are none, Jack slips on a reinforced gauntlet. The primeape punches holes into the rock, steel protecting his hand. Spikes are driven into stone, then used as resting points. All goes well, until the stone gives way. A spike, driven too far into the rock, sends a loud crack through the air. Looking down the ropes, everyone's eyes widen in fear. It starts slowly, a piece the size of a Torterra sliding down the face."JUMP!" the cry goes out, as the slate falls. The two lines below it, thankfully not attached to it, push off in a concerted effort. The Silk rope swings out to the left, seels catching their comrades. The stone clips one man, sending the rope into a spin. The man's legs snap, dangling lifeless. To his credit, the man never cries out. For the rest of the climb, the man is dragged up the cliff. You reach the top of the cliff, cutting off of the silk. Your squad's dark clothing and armor, marred only by James' Monferno and Jack's white fur, works in your favor. The deep ruts, each near three feet deep, provide shadows. Walking in a strung out line through the ruts, you look back to check on the troops. Is that boulder...moving? Dead Arceus. Golems. You throw up your hand, stopping the column. Motioning back at the pokemon, a contingent of hammer and pick wielding warriors break off. Sprinting at the stone pokemon, the twenty men lay onto the rock shell. Sparks flash as the steel scrapes across the shell, before a pick slams between plates. Holding pick in place, a hammer swings down from the man's partner. The pick drives deep, then is pulled out. Dark black/blue blood wells out, staining the dirt.More picks sink home, puncturing the pokemon's stony hide. A hammer slams into it's beak, but not before it releases a minor earthquake. Thrown off balance, the men stop the battle. The wounded pokemon curls into a ball, with only it's arms protruding. The thing spins, kicking up dirt, before fleeing downhill. Unfortunately, the hill falls off into the cliff, and off the pokemon goes. One man looks over the edge, seeing a shattered rock half the size of your ship, and the Golem waddling down the beach.
Back to the mission, you creep up the hill. It goes off without a hitch, reaching the base of the wall. A single from James(two bursts of flame at forty-five degrees), and the battering of the castle ends. You repeat your cliff climb, Charlotte climbing the scarred wall. The bug reaches the top, springing on the patrolling guard. She bites at the base of his neck, silencing him forever. You climb back up to the walkway, followed by thee seels. You split into two teams, heading in opposite directions. You take out first one tower, the another. James refrains from lighting up, instead using his spear to maintain secrecy. Inside one tower, a map of the region sits in a table, daggers holding it in place. A few bloodstains mar the paper, but it is mostly legible. Written on the paper, troop movements and supply trains are picked out in blue. Green ink, in the people's tongue, notes figures and other indecipherable scribblings. This likely will help the war effort greatly.>You have captured the outer wall>What to do?>Wait for the day>Try to take the castle now>Other

>>35312953probably when the watch changes, but then only a few men will be taking the shift of guard duty. The gatehouse is connected to the courtyard, but has some windows facing in to the courtyard and arrow slits facing out. There is no access from the wall.
I say we sweep in and take care of the mounts. Stables are generally kept separate from the barracks, right?
>>35313179yes, but with so many pokemon, the pokemon are hitched in the middle of the courtyard. Small pup tents are stationed around the yard, holding men to deal with the mounts

Your troops meet back at the left gate tower, which is unconnected to the gatehouse. Assigning the archer contingent, close to forty people with longbows and ten men with hammers and axes to guard the archers, you give orders to kill the mounts. James goes with them, likely planning to protect against the flames. You take the rest of the men down the stairs, then up another flight to the gatehouse. A heavily armored Poliwrath bodyslams the door, which seems to be barred. A second attack, and the pokemon barrels through the stone doorway. You stream in, black armor glinting in the torchlight. Before entering, a flight of arrows go up, the twang of bowstrings audible in the still night. The last sound is that of horse screams and shouting men. Once in the gatehouse, the invaders spring at you. The world flashes red, your gear growing lighter. Still gazing through a red tinted lens, you hack at the guard. Clad only in leather and felt, your blade cuts deep. Brave despite the mortal wound, the man continues to attack. Blows from the steel saber glance off your shield, or are swatted out of the air. The man is an okay swordsman, but you have spend years fighting for your life. Another blow, this one from your shield, slips through his guard. The lip of the shield rams up into his chin, snapping it shut. The man, a year or two younger than you, spits out blood, and bares ruined teeth. A quick slice at the reeling boy ends the fight. Shifting to another enemy, you continue the bloodbath. Fifty seasoned men, against twenty horseless horsemen. Its a massacre. The gatehouse cleared, you leave thirty men to defend it.
Exiting the stone rooms, you spy the bailey. Arrows sprout like weeds, growing from mud and corpses alike. The mounts have gone mad, running blindly inside the walls. The archers take potshots at the racing Rapidash, leading them by a large margin. James stands in the middle of this all, his body burning brightly. Flame streams from his hands, burning the Zebstrika and panicking the Mamoswine. Through the waves of heat and flame, you can make out the unarmored head of your lieutenant. A savage smile, wavering with the flames, rests on his face as he walks to the barracks. A stone building with a thatch roof, it should go down in flames.>What to do?>Enter the fray(Go where?)>Hang back>Write in

"Open the gates! I want the whole army in this damned castle" you shout back at the men in the gatehouse, then hear a clanking of chains. Leaving the men to lowering the drawbridge, you call over Charlotte. With your instruction, the spider crawls up the stones. The spider pokemon spins, then launches a string of web at the tower keep. The line smacks into glass of the roof. The spider shoots off two more lines, forming a downward pointing triangle. The spider crawls across the lines, spinning a solid web into a V shaped bridge. The pokemon drops two lines from the base of the bridge and spins a silken ladder. Slipping the shield onto your back, you climb the ladder. Twenty men follow you up onto the bridge. Working your way across the swaying bridge, you reach the end of the lines. Drawing your blade, you slam the pommel into the plate glass window. Three hits, and the glass shatters. Opening a portal, you drop the glass below the bridge.Dropping through the window pane, you spin to cover your back against the stone wall. The room, a table and bookshelves crowding it, is empty. Moving away from the wall, more of your troops drop into the study.Heading down the spiral stairs, you reach a landing. With two others flanking you, you kick open the door. The seels rush in, standing on the sides of the door. You rush in, seeing a sleeping figure>Kill it>Take it prisoner>Leave it be

"Wake up, and get out of the bed!" you shout to the supine form, startling them. The form jumps out of the bed, covering itself with it's hands. Wait. Make that her hands. Long black hair hangs around her face, covering her slanted brown eyes. "Charlotte, String Shot!" The spider pokemon releases a string of webbing, which binds up the girl. The girl, clad in a light(very light) silk tunic, struggles against the bonds, but the string holds her. "Sorry about this, I promise that we'll let you go once this is over""Pedicabo off, porci sordidi. Et disperdam te, pater, qui amas!" Well that didn't seem very nice. The girl struggles more against the bonds, but only succeeds in shifting her tunic higher. Her eyes narrow farther, staring at you with defiance. "Hope you don't mind giant spiders, I'm gonna leave Charlotte here with you" The girl glares out at you, twisting away from the painted black pokemon. Aww, she hates spiders too. A girl after your own heart.Leaving the girl and your pokemon, you advance down the spiral staircase. Entering a room, you have to block a rain of steel blows to your shield. The seels crowd in with you, protecting your sides. With the lack of shields, you are able to attack the warriors when they swing. Really, you would think that they would carry shields. You hold off the men, until the door bursts in."Calvary's here! Wait, not their calvary... Never mind." James bursts through the door, throwing fire into the faces of the leather clad men. The stream away from you and the burning man, forming a huddle of sabers and felt in a corner. This tactic proves useless, as James opens up with twin flamethrowers. The main force of the army follows, General Kici clad in yellow plate."Good job Captain! It seems I underestimated you" The balding knight bows to you, his longsword sheathed across his back.>What do you want to say?
>>35315588"Yeah I get that a lot. So are you going to surrender, or will you underestimate me yet again?"

"I get that a lot actually, must be the whole nomad thing I guess.""Think nothing of that. Everyone must help in such times. My cousin said that some nomads had joined him on the southern front. Good people, if you get to know them. Why back when I was your age, there was this blon... never mind. You were saying?"Oh, Yes sir. The keep is secure and a prisoner has been captured, she's..... spirited to say the least and speaks a language I'm not familiar with. Didn't seem to take kindly to being taken out before the fighting though she may just not like spiders" You say, gesturing up the staircase. The general seems very interested in the news."You say she spoke in another language? Could it have been the Rytterean language? This is good. Very good. Perhaps the girl is some form of savage nobility. Captain, I would hang onto this girl if I were you. What did you say she looked like again? The steel clad knight seems ready to sprint up the stairs, but restrains himself."Well, Sir, in the commotion I didn't get a great look. She certainly looks eastern, and spoke in a different language like I said. Rather scantily clad, though that may have been due to the time" you recall a few other details, but it would be better not to mention such in polite society."Well, have her brought to me soon, I might be able to find a translator for her. Until then, you can do with her as you will." With that, the knight nods to you and leaves with most of the soldiers. James remains, his flames extinguished.
>>35316253go see her, make it clear we're not gong to hurt her and would appreciate if she didn't try a smash and bolt as soon as we let her free
"You caught a lady, did you? Why do some people have all the luck? I was out there, risking life and limb, while you spent some alone time with a near-nude lady. I need to start following you around." The tall man smiles jokingly, talking as the two of you walk up the stone stairs. Entering the chamber, James whistles. "I didn't expect you to be into that stuff Barry(what stuff is he talking about?). Not judging, do what you gotta." The blond man lifts the girl, who is roughly your age, to her feet. She hisses at him, though that could be attributed to the heat of his armor. You head back up the stairs to the study, where a book caught your eye. A large tome, like the one you got when you first were learning magic, sits amid other books of different colors. James grabs one that has a stylized flame picked out in flames, while your's has an eye in black gems.Once back on your ship, you have the girl put in a cabin with no windows. A large bar is installed to keep her inside. You can talk to her if you want, or you can wait for the translator.>Wait>Do it now>Go meet with the crew>Talk with the navy seels>Write in

>>35316298>>Do it now>>Go meet with the crew>>Talk with the navy seels"I'm sorry I have to put off my promise a bit longer, I'll be back with someone who can translate and we'll get this sorted out. Get you anything to eat?"
You call over Charlotte, now her natural colors, then enter the eastern girl's cabin/cell. The girl sits on the bed, legs crossed and eyes closed. As you close the door, her eyes shoot open, then narrow. For some reason, the girl seems to dislike clothing, where only cut off pants and a wrapping protecting her modesty. "Can you understand me?" you speak slowly and clearly, pronouncing each word separately. The girl gives no indication of understanding, instead staring into your eyes in silence. "Even if you can't understand me, I promise that I'll let you go when this is over. Can you tell me why you were here alone?" you ask, staring back at the girl. The silence stretches on for too long, until she breaks it by mumbling something. "Sorry, what did you say?""Father gone. Cannon" the girl looks over to the east, obviously thinking.Shit. Does she mean that he was killed? Some of the cannonballs would have gotten into the castle, but you didn't think anyone would get hurt from them.>What say?
>>35316632"Where did he die? Was he caught in the fighting here leaving you alone, or did he fall somewhere else and sent you here? Tell me what happened if you don't mind"
>>35316632"I'm sorry to hear that, was he caught in the earlier barrage or struck down on a ship? Could you tell me about him, would you like something to eat while we wait?"
"I'm sorry to hear that, was he caught in the earlier barrage or struck down on a ship? Could you tell me about him, would you like something to eat while we wait?" you ask, feeling slightly guilty at having ordered the shelling."Barrage was lots cannon shots, yes? Father die in barrage," Well, shit. "Eat, ita?" The black haired girl mimes lifting food to her mouth."Ita means yes, right?""Ita" The girl nods, smiling smiling slightly as you mispronounce the word."Okay, ita. I'll get us some food" you walk over to the door and exit, careful to replace the wood bar. Returning with two large loaves of bread, which are hollowed out and filled with a meaty stew. Looks like Deerling, but is a bit spicier. Rapidash maybe. Lifting the bar, you enter the room and hand the girl her food. "Dinner's up. Eat it before it gets cold." The girl sets on the food, tearing a piece of bread off to use as a spoon. The two of you eat in silence, until she asks you something."Nomen?""Sorry, what does that mean?"Narangerel" the girl points at herself as she says it."Oh, name! Umm, my nomen is Barry" Your mispronunciation again draws out a smile. "Is it okay if I call you Nara? Narangerel is kinda long.""Ita">What do you say, or do?

"Tell me about yourself and your father? What were you two doing in a captured castle so far from home?" you ask, spooning some of the meat stew into your mouth. "Sha'Shan send father here for castle." The Sha'Shan, General Vici mentioned him. The term means king of kings, and is earned through an tournament to find the best warrior. However, to get in the tournament, you had to be the leader of a tribe(called a Shan). The current Sha'Shan is said to be invincible to weapons, with skin like dragon scales and can shoot blue flames from his mouth. He has four Vi'Shans, the runners up in the tournament. It seems like her father was a Shan, or a general. "What were you doing in the library? Are you a mage?""Mage?" Nara cocks her head at the word, it seems like she never heard it."Umm, how to explain this..." you mumble to yourself, trying to think. Deciding, you reach out into the air. You hand disappears into a small portal, and Nara scrambles back. She looks around the cabin floor, searching for the missing limb. "Hey, I'm fine. See?" you open a portal to your stew, and rip off a piece of bread. Pulling back, you take a bite out of the bread. Mmm. Emma is a great cook. "Magus es!" the slant-eyed girl(is that racist?) stares at you, eyes wide. "Mage is magus, ita?""Sure, ita. You've never seen a mage before?" You ask. Odd, magic is rare, but not that rare. Most large towns will have at least one mage."One. Father could change. Like spider. Shiny">What say(her father was a Bug type wizard)ignore the stuff on pic's back, but thats daddy
>>35317451"I've never heard of that before kind of magic, though I guess it explains your reaction to Charlotte before. Why would the Sha'Shan send you and your father here of all places? Does he have a hand in the recent rebellions or did you both just happen to get caught up in this whole war? I guess for that matter what will you do now, that battle is won and without knowing what you're doing here I can't really say what the generals will want to do with you."
>>35317451>probably my last post before bed, see you guys next week"I take it by your reaction you didn't take after your father gifts, though that does explain why Charlotte seemed to take a liking to you before. If he was involved with the war why would you still be here after his falling?"
"I've never heard of that before kind of magic, though I guess it explains your reaction to Charlotte before. Why would the Sha'Shan send you and your father here of all places?" you ask, the idea of a bug wizard intriguing. "Father was close to be Va'Shan. Beat by Ice woman. Sha'Shan sent father to conquer here.""I guess for that matter what will you do now, that battle is won and without knowing what you're doing here I can't really say what the generals will want to do with you. Do your people ransom people?""Some. Shan are to return by self. Father dead. Now Nara Shan." The captive girl looks sad, from grief or the prospect of never returning to her homeland.>What say, or do?"I take it by your reaction you didn't take after your father gifts, though that does explain why Charlotte seemed to take a liking to you before.""Father never taught Nara. Want son."What about you, if your father was a mage it would make sense for your leader to send a scout into potentially dangerous territory but why were you here? If he was involved with the war why would you still be here after his falling?""Father take stam with father. Mother stay with rest stam""Sorry, whats a stam?""Stam family. Group. Tribe.""But why would he take you with him? Why not leave you with your mother?" The only answer you receive is a shrug and a noise that is universal for "I dunno".Leaving the Nara to her room, you head back up to your room to think on the new things you learned.>End thread>Questions, Comments, and Criticism below
